Code Repository/Check-in/Check-out system

Question: Code Repository/Check-in/Check-out system

Hey guys,

The company I'm working for has grown a lot and now I'm no longer the only programmer. We're looking for an app that lets us do code check-in/check-out that'll also store all the changes.

All the files we need monitored are plaintext, and we do most of our development in Notepad or Notepad++. The app must work in Server 2003.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Preferred Solution: Code Repository/Check-in/Check-out system

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Code Repository/Check-in/Check-out system

I think subversion should handle your needs...

So I ran the "HP Health System Scan for Notebook PCs" on my Pavillion DV6000 Special Edition (Windows Vista 32bit). Afterwards, I received the following error:Test failed. Your hard disk might be defective.(IDE hard disk diagnostic (C:, D) (Code=M0C739-3N45R1-XD00QJ-L26103).

Performed chkdsk and re-ran the test. same error code.

Tried to look this Error code up with no success.

Does anyone know what the code means? Or where to find an online document that explains what the code is? (already tried Hp website and google)

Answer:HP System check Error Code

See if the results of chkdsk /r on the drive shows any bad clusters.

And/Or

Test the drive with HDTune by checking the drive's SMART status and scanning the drive for errors.

Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

I have what I believe is a probably Hard Disk failiure; however, the Windows utility provides different output than the error codes provided by the System level check. The below is from my OS check:Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\Users\user>wmicwmic:root\cli>diskdrive get statusStatusOKwmic:root\cli> It seems to indicate status as OK. However, the system level Hardware Test before booting shows the following:Failiure ID is: 9PMPKK-5B284T-XD002K-60QS03Product ID is XG809UA#ABA  I assume the OS level SMART Test is less reliable, then?Thanks!

Saw the post for the T series which recommended to downgrade bios to 2.23. Having this issue with the Z61ts since January 4, 2010.-Docked and undocked-With and without the network cable plugged in-With and without peripherals plugged in-Bios 2.26 and 2.27,-SafeGuard Easy 4.3 and 4.5.2.  In some cases restoring the SafeguardEasy Kernel fixes the issue.  In some cases the error reappears and either the kernel needs to be restored again, or the PC can just be rebooted. One case had 2 kernel restores, a reimage and a kernel restore.

I've been having trouble starting my Dell laptop since yesterday morning. It was fine the previous night. It seems like there it may have something to do with the hard drive. When I run diagnostics or startup repair it does not show the hard drive but shows a different drive below it in "S01" I think. I'm running Windows 7 (64). Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Answer:Yes.... another PHP code check!

The reason the bits get lost is because they over write each other...The variable $mail_messageIs set as $mail_message="From: $name";Then it is set as $mail_message="Location: $location";Therefore it is now Locaton and the name has been lost.You need to join the message variable new bits onto the existing bits.So alter the code to:$mail_message.="From: $name";$mail_message.="Location: $location";See the dot?That will concatenate (i think thats how it's spelt) the variable, and it should work properly.It is also a good idea to put a line break in. Makes the email easier to read. i.e.$mail_message.="From: $name";$mail_message.="Location: $location";etc

I have a form with three check boxes on it. I would like a button to open a report with the boxes that are checked as the where condition.

What is the syntax for checking if a box is checked in VBA, I tried If( chkbox = True) but that does not work
Also
I thought using the DoCmd.OpenReport was appropriate and then in the WHERE condition using a string that is defined by the checkboxes i.e. Dim "Stringname As String then using and if statement to add the values of the checked boxes to the string.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

Is there an easy way to do this on a Windows XP machine, using either Windows' own software, like WMP, or some other DVD software? I've got WinDVD, WMP, Media Jukebox, and a couple others, but none of them seem to have the seemingly basic function of just telling me what region code the DVD is encoded with, if any (many documentaries are region-free). Living in Japan and dealing with both region 1 & region 2 discs all the time, it's kind of a hassle having to set my PC's player, pop a DVD in and then *assume* what the code might be based on whether it plays or not. There must be a more direct and accurate way.

Thanks.

Would anyone with a good knowledge of PHP be kind enough to scan over this and check that it's okay, please? ? $name = $_REQUEST['name'] ; $email = $_REQUEST['email'] ; $location = $REQUEST['location'] ; $message = $_REQUEST['message'] ; if (!isset($_REQUEST['email'])) { header( "Location: click here" ); } elseif (empty($email) || empty($message)) { header( "Location: click here" ); } else { mail( "[email protected]", "Form Message", $message, "From: $email" ); header( "Location: click here" );?>(Hoping that it formats correctly...) TIA!

Answer:A quick PHP code check, please

As I suspected, it hasn't formatted 100% correctly; I have added two spaces to the lines between the start and end tags and have used the < at the start. It's based on this tutorial click here.

This is a problem I've been having for a long time so it's a bit of a long story. I'm putting it in the Hardware section but I don't know what is causing it for sure. The problem returned recently. Attached the last few dumps.

This is my self-built gaming PC:
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 8
RAM: 8129 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, -1024 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 953766 MB, Free - 749577 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., Z87-A
PSU: Corsair HX850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...11&cm_re=Corsair_HX850-_-17-139-011-_-Product

The exact gfx card is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130917

Back in February I bought new gfx card, mobo, CPU, and RAM, so those parts are relatively new. After upgrading, the PC would BSOD with the BCCode 124 and reboot itself if I played a game for about 10 minutes. Some games lasted longer than others regardless of the game being demanding or old or modern. It would very rarely do this while idle as well, maybe once a week. The temperatures all idle around 30-35C according to speccy.

Things I tried back then:
Swapped out the gfx card with my old GTX 580 and a friend's GTX 780ti and a friend's GTX 560ti. Still got the BSOD with each.
Got a replacement motherboard from Microcenter, still BSOD.
Swapped RAM sticks with... Read more

I built a new computer a couple of months back using all new parts from an online store. Ever since day one I have experienced the occasional BSOD. I have tried updating the video card drivers, reseating the RAM etc but to no avail. I have used Memtest x86 and Windows 7 memory disgnostic and found no faults.

Sometimes the computer will BSOD within minutes of being booted yet at other times it can run for days without a problem. Lately the BSODs have become much more frequent. Any ideas?

I have been plagued with the Blue Screen of Death after finalizing a DVD. I use Sonic DLA on my Sony DVD DW-Q28A. As long as I don't write to the DVD it works fine for reading. (My recollection is that I also get the Blue Screen whether or not I finalize the DVD.) I have been unable to find a later version of the DVD driver on the Net.

In frustration, I purchased an external DVD R/W in the hope that this would solve the problem. Much to my surprise, the first time I finalized a DVD created on the external DVD drive, I again received the Blue Screen.

BlueScreenView shows that most of the incidents highlight the file FLTMGR.SYS and NTOSKRNL.exe in the lower half of the screen. The file HAL.DLL is also highlighted often. I've posted this problem on another forum and received great help which included a response that indicated I should perform an in-place upgrade of Windows. This was suggested because of a possible mismatch between the Hal.dll and Ntoskrnl.exe files. As this appears to be a major time commitment to solve, is there another potential solution, or is this the best course of action?

Thanks for any help you can provide. Here's the latest dump file.

I've had the BSOD crash for a couple of months. Now its pretty regular multiple times a day, even when I leave my computer on sleep. I've researched a few threads and have done some attempts to fix on my own, but no help. I thought my problem was with NVIDIA GEForce G210 drivers, but I've updated them all and still no help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I work out of my home on computer, and I just got BSOD while working, not good!

Answer:BSOD bug check code 0x00000116

0x116 bugchecks are generally caused by drivers or hardware (GPU).
Your drivers are up to date so I would recommend downloading and running furmark.

Run it for at least 30 minutes.

Follow these instructions on how to run Furmark.

Hello Seven Forum,

First I?ve read the " Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions" and the zip file is attached

Now to the nasty BSOD - Error:

The PC is running stable except on Program , I only get the c5 error when using one specific function from a Program called Unity(ver 4.6.9f1) this is a function for baking lightmaps, when called, this function will start Beast(a programm from Autodesk to bake lightmaps) and then while baking the BSOD appears. The Program it self seems to be stable too except that function.

What I?ve done so far:

Checked CPU heat with HW Monitor - Not to Hot
Checked System pressure with PCMark 8 & HeavyLoad x64 - No Crash
Installed latest MS Updates
Installed lates Nvidia Driver
AV Scanner is MSE
No tools like CCleaner installed
Run MemX86 test for several Hours - No Errors

Sys Info:
W7 Pro 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
i7 4771
NV GTX 760
8GB Ram
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3H

So I hope the infos are what is needed to narrow the issue down,
Thanks in advance Dr. Falken

It mannifests in 3 or 4 ways. I'v tryed 1000 different things and it seems that everything i try , except the default clock , it mannifest in different way.

1) Running with Default Oc , Intel i3 3.06 ghz , 3gig ram 1333 mhz , gts 450 1gb , The pc works fine , without errors and no BSOD but from low to medium fps in games such as Cs global offensive.

2) Running with Oc , Intel i3 , 3,86 ghz , 3 gig ram 1333 mhz , gts 450 1gb , the pc works for 1 hour and then Bsod occurs with the error 0x0000003b , mostly Driver fail and kernel fail + Dx ( details in the attachement )

Running with Oc , intel i3 , 3,86 ghz , 8 gig 1600 mhz , gts 450 1gb , it deppends how it starts:

3a) If it starts normal , i have masive low fps and the pc runs like shit , like it doesnt read the entire Vram. 3b) If its starts in a different way , lets say a restart after a force shutdown , the Fps is High but relics appear on the screen and after that , BSOD. The same Bsod erros uploaded in the attachement.

I'v tryed 1000 things , from oc to default and trying 10 different Nvidia drivers , but i didnt find any answers.

#edit

I forgot to say that , i tested everything , beeing oc'ed. I manage to oc the cpu from 3,06 to 4,14 with 50c temperature , the gpu works fine , it reaches 60 c at max , and the ram are new , ( bought them 2 weeks ago )

I keep switching from the 3 gig to the 8 and doing all kinds of settings but nothings works out

Long story short ,

3 gig No oc = no bsod = medium fps in game... Read more

caused by driver - halmacpi.dll
bug check code-0x0000000a

how to resolve this error

Answer:laptop gives bug check code-0x0000000a

Hello kaps and welcome to Seven Forums.

It would help if you'd submit your dump files for further analysis. The BSOD Posting Instructions explain how to do that.

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

The two problematic drivers are Windows operating system drivers and are usually taken care of through normal Windows Updates.

Driver Reference Table - halmacpi.dll

Driver Reference Table - ntkrnlpa.exe

Driver Reference Table - ntoskrnl.exe

You may have damaged or corrupt system files that are preventing these drivers from updating or that are causing other problems for your OS. Hence, the need to see the actual dump files. In the meantime, you could try running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately reboot the computer after each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

It would also help in diagnosing problems if you would post this report because sometimes false activation issues can cause problems.

I have tried several anti-virus programs (all free AVG, Avast, Malwarebytes) and all found something, but still the main problem persists and that is I sometimes keep getting redirected to other sites via brawsing-check.com. I looked online to see how to fix it, but there is no such software named 'Thinkpoint' on my computer (apparently this is what causes the brawsing-check). Also, I can not seem to check for updates this results in an error of 80072EFE. Here is the Hijack log any help would be greatly appreciated:

The problem start with my wife's PC. It started a few weeks ago she told me. She can't open Outlook Express (doesn't start), access My Space or get updates at Windows Update. Also some images on sites do not load.

I then checked my PC and found, I couldn't access Windows Update, My Space, Thunderbird fails to retrieve emails. I have not noticed any issues with images.

Given this sounded like some of the behaviors I have heard of trojans doing I thought I would post my logs here and see if anyone sees anything out of place. Normally I wouldn't consider a cross contamination but about two weeks I temporarily set up a home network between our PCs to share a few files. The next day I disabled NetBIOS on my PC but as we are both behind a hardware firewall, I guessing if it happened it must have happened then.

Nothing jumps out at me but I wanted to get a second opinion.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, i have hp pavilion g6 laptop and its upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 then windows 10.  From last few days i was getting "Memory_Management", "Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error" and so many other errors with blue screen. Due to this i have to power off the system from main power button by holding for few seconds. Now i was getting hang problem. I saw in task manager that DISK UTILIZATION was 100%. Answer:Hard Drive Short DST Check : WARNING and Optimized DST Check...

Yes you need to replace the hard drive. Since you have upgraded to Windows 10 it is very easy to get recovery media directly from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. For most people, the problem is not physically swapping out the hard drive, but restoring the operating system since they do not have recovery disks. Post back if you want a service manual and/or video showing the replacement, purchase options for a new hard drive and step-by-step for restoring Windows 10. We would need the full model...g6-????

Is verifying files by check sum / content after transferring (copying, moving) indeed unreliable?

Since "ever" I - if I checked files at all - checked files by content or check sum after transferring them, so this information sounds very astonishing to me now, I hadn't had any clue about what I read here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2012/09/19/10350645.aspx

Obviously meaning in many cases checking files by content / check sum checks the data in the buffer, if I see it right.

So, is it like that? Does it refer to all of the synchronizing / backup / copying, check sum, etc. programs?

And what is the best / easiest way to (automatically) check files after transferring. E.g. when copying all of the files of a 4TB drive to another one.

Answer:Verifying files by check sum / content after transferring unreliable - how to check?

Kletus...

I'm not in my league with this, but could this make sense?

I think the article is referring to times when you are seeking to verify data across a network span between two systems (operating systems), where system b (copy destination) requests a checksum from system a (file original location). I believe the author is saying that in that particular situation checksums would be created from the cache/buffer on both computers. In the case of you copying to a secondary disk connected to a single computer I think the checksum should work fine. Sounds like one of those programmer's dilemmas to me.

Sorry if I am off on this. I know you are looking for some programming expertise. I'll just say that reading this, it made sense to me about the author's comments:

This really sounds like you're overthinking it.

First, what possible reason would there be for giving someone write access but not read access to a certain location? That's screwed up on so many different levels...

Second, you're right that having the sender compute a checksum of the destination file is a bad idea for all the reasons mentioned. But why did you even think of doing that in the first place?!? If I was implementing a system like that, I'd have the *destination* system compute the checksum on the file it received and send it back to the sender for verificati... Read more

I apologize if this is the wrong area.

I've been having quite a bit of trouble with this--and even when I had XP. Whenever I try to manually check for updates, it simply doesn't work, and gives me the error code. I've tried numerous things to remedy it, such as going directly from my modem to the PC, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the ethernet driver.

Any help?

I have been experiencing random BSOD on my PC for several months. In an effort to resolve the issue, I have formatted the SSD and reinstalled Windows7 (home edition) with all the latest drivers. I ran Memtest86 (it took about 4 hours, and it showed 0 errors). I was still getting BSOD, so I formatted and reinstalled windows using only the driver set on the motherboard CD (system is 1.5 years old). With only anti-virus installed on the fresh Windows install, I still got BSOD. It seems that it crashes with old or new drivers.

Since then, I have updated most of the drivers, and also ran Checkdisc on the SSD and storage HD. Both tests passed error free. This weekend I removed and re-seated the video card, processor, and memory. I have 4 sticks of DDR Ram (4GB each), so I removed 2 of them for testing (running 8GB now). Since then, I got a BSOD again. I was unaware that mini-dump is 'off' by default, and only have one dump to post here. It has crashed a few times since this dump file was generated, but Windows has not generated another dump file, and I don't know why.

Next, reinstall you Chipset drivers and all USB drivers from Asus web site for your board.

You say you ran memtest for 4 hours. It takes a minimum of 8 complete passes to completely test your ram. You have 16 GB and that will take 18-20 hours or more to complete 8 passes. This will tell you how to run memtest86+.
Please Run Memtest86+

Windows blames dxgkrnl.sys and at several times have the nvidia drivers "failed" and been restored.

BSODs occur when at complete random intervalls, when starting up windows or playing games.

Sometimes my screens goes black and gets "no signal found" and then it reboots (bsod windows reports when i get back from the reboot).
Other times as soon as it should switch from windows loading screen to windows welcome screen the monitor is just black and I hear the sounds of skype etc starting up. (There is never any problem showing the motherboard startup screen or the black windows loading screen)

When I have my dual monitor setup I don't even get a propper bluescreen only blue or browning colors. When I only use my TV I get a real bluescreen(if the screen doesn't go black first ofc).

I am also very confident that it's not a cooling issue and in some threads regarding similar issues some suggested memory issues so I ran memtest for 8+ hours when I was away and no errors had been found when I got back.

No hardware on my computer is overclocked.

Hi Sevenforums its been awhile since ive had an issue and am now having another. I was just booting up my laptop after letting it sit overnight after getting back from college and i got a 0x00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA bsod. From what i can tell from bluescreen view. It was caused by ntsokrnl.exe+75bc0 and it says in the address stack ntoskrnl.exe+f25b3. I have no idea what this means. But after the blue screen my laptop booted up fine and is running. I would just like to know what caused it so i can remedy the issue. Thanks in advance for the help.

*Other info the only difference between home and school that i have noticed is at home i have a 2.1 speaker setup. Had no issues the whole time i was at school.

Hi,

My computer just blue screened at random. It has happened a couple of times recently but after a system restore I thought it was solved. A recent scan suggested the hard drive might be a problem.

Can someone take a look at the attached files and advise me?

Thanks

Answer:BSOD after start-up, Bug Check Code 59 0xc0000005

Hi and welcome to SF .

Can you please elaborate on how the recent scan of the HDD was executed any why did it show
the HDD might be defective?

The bug checks seem to be due to AVAST, a registry "cleaner" software, and a couple of outdated drivers,
but before we perform the necessary repairs I would like to hear your response to the question
mentioned in the first part of this post (regarding the HDD)?

Problem started when I noticed the Windows Defender shield in notification tray.
It said I needed to check for Definition Update. When I checked, it informed me that there were no new definition updates available. Fine. Except the Defenders shield remained in the tray and there wasn't any way to close it.

So, I uninstalled Windows Defender and reinstalled it but now it says : Windows Defender can't check for definition updates, and gives an error message. code Ox80072f78

???

Now then, just prior to that I had tried to install SunBelt Software's CounterSpy as an upgrade. Turned out my subscription had expired anyway. That was news to me as usually they contact their customers with a warning before hand. So, I uninstalled CounterSpy which had embedded itself with Windows security.
Might I have uninstalled something that belonged to Windows?
I have XP with SP3 installed.

Hi,

I've been trying to find out why is the BDOS happening randomly, but mostly happen when I play Tree of Savior game installed through Steam. Once in a while there's this "VGUI" related error, I did not manage to screenshot it because it happens too quickly.

I've attached the ZIP file here, hoping someone could provide me some insights. I don't have any antivirus installed, if this matters.

I'm at my wits end with this computer. I get BSOD 0x124 about once a week, some times twice a week, since the life of the computer, which I've had for about 3 years. I've changed out the mobo from a GA-Z77X-UD3H to my current mobo a Z77 Extreme6 I've run memtest on each dim, had to RMA two of them due to the hammer test, and even with the fresh new ram, I still get BSOD almost daily.

While running the dm_log_collector to get the info to upload to this forum, I had another BSOD 124 while the program was collecting my PC's info. Luckily I was able to re run it after I booted to my computer.

No Im not OCing ANYTHING. This happens when the bios defaults are loaded. Happens when I turn off intel turbo boost and/or C states, and shared memory. XMP profile for my MEM on or off makes no difference. I also have a kernal memory dump, if anyone wants to look.

Please! Could someone take me on as a side project, because I can't find a case were a BSOD code 124 ever gets solved. I know that a 124 is usually hardware related but not all the time.

Recently, after updating several T60 (2007-4AU) machines to the latest BIOS version ( 2.25 79ETE5WW ), we started experiencing an "Integrity check for code area failed - system halted" error during boot up. All of the laptops are 1. But after trying to check for updates I get error code 80244022. Tried googling it and found alot of different fix ways to do but none of them worked. I tried the Windows fixit thingy, change connection settings and alot of more stuff. This has never happened before. Could someone help me with this situation?

Thanks.

EDIT: I also tried this method: Windows error 80244022 [Solved] but in the registery I couldn't continue after "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows" as I only can see these:

EDIT 2: Seems like the error code has changed to 80072EE2 now. I just have no idea what is going on.

Lately, I had been noticing my computer randomly rebooting. Having checked with BlueScreenView, I found it to be a "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER" error.

Knowing that a clean install of Win7 64 was in order due to a series of upgrades coming down the pike, I did a clean install earlier than planned. So far, I've got the case and case fans replaced, as well as cleaned off/replaced silver on my CPU.

Unfortunately, I do not have the error dumps for before the clean install, but I can at least say that the issue is still the "THREAD" error. The only difference I've noticed is the addition of atikmdag.sys and hal.dll being mentioned alongside dxgkrnl.sys.

As far as I know, I've got the most recent drivers for my video card, as that was one thing taken care of promptly after the clean install.

OS: Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
CPU: AMD A4-5300 Trinity 3.4 Ghz
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M

Hello folks!

I've been having some graphical glitches with my cursor and random freezes for about a week now. Graphical glitches include low resolution cursor - coupled with low color depth, and the cursor not clicking where it is graphically represented on the screen. Another issue with the cursor is unresponsive clicks.

The freezes are at quite regular intervals and doesn't seem to be triggered by high cpu or memory usage.

Yesterday it also began failing to shut down properly, being stuck on the logoff screen for a long while, eventually resulting in a 0x9f BSOD.

I believe it might be gpu-related, possibly a NVIDIA driver issue, but to be honest I don't have the know-how to identify and deal with the situation safely and accurately. Any help is greatly appreciated! System specs are in my profile info, if it's necessary.

Hi Guys,

I've read other thread similar but lots of the answer have to do with the specifics of the hardware being run on the pc so i've started my own. I'm sorry if that was inappropriate. I will occasionally wake up in the morning, or come home from school/work to find a BSOD. I also get crashes while i'm gaming but that typically just hangs or makes a TERRIBLE noise from the speakers (not the tower).

Here is the information. please let me know what i'm missing, i'm new to all this and learning. I appreciate the time anyone spends on this helping.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am having trouble with my new notebook (Windows 8.1, 64bit), on which I keep getting BSOD errors. I tried solving the problem myself but I can't find any solution that eliminates the BSOD.

Today I got a BSOD on startup saying: BSOD SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. BlueScreenView tells me that this error is caused by ntoskrnl.exe+14f1a0. I always get this error at least once a week and it almost always happens when I am starting up my notebook or when it comes out of sleep mode and it is not related to power saving settings in windows 8.1 cause I already did that and still keep getting BSOD errors.

I have come here in the hope to solve this problem for good.

Any help is very much appreciated.

So I just got a BSOD that has the same error code as the last two I had this month. They all seem to happen at random and once while I was playing CS:GO. Today I was just doing some light tasks when my monitor went to black and then showed the BSOD screen. The bug check code was 0x00000109. I don't really know for sure what could be the problem but I'm thinking maybe bad memory.

Hi

The BSOD started happening this week and since then it is occuring several times per day.

I ran BlueScreenView and i got the following specs:
bug check code: 0x00000109
caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe
crash address: ntoskrnl.exe+75c40
File version: 6.1.7601.18044 (win7sp1_gdr.130104-1431)

I 'm completely lost on what is causing it. I checked ram and hdd for errors and both come clean (however I could not run extended checks since it takes a few hours and the BSOD breaks it). apparently all drivers are updated.

I dont't know what to do the BSOD. Help would be much appreciated.

Hello diaspm, Welcome to SF

Nothing specific in those dumps im afraid to point at a particular cause
Bug check 0x109 wouold suggest a faulty driver or memory problems
I would first check all memory by running some diagnostic software
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Disk Check
Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Then if no faults found try enabling driver verifier
Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers
just remember if your pc wont boot after enabling then enter safe mode to turn it of again

Also you have many old drivers on your system you ned to update the old ones, heres a list of the ones that predate win 7

Almost every dump was the same. The error occurs because one processor is trying to communicate with your other processor and the second one doesn't respond right away so the computer crashes.

Code:
BIOS Version: TOSHIBA Version 1.70, 24-08-2006
Start off by updating your BIOS. It is very out of date.

Once you've updated your BIOS, run these tests
1. Prime95. Run all three tests - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
2. Memtest86. Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
3. Hard drive scan using Seatools

There are other things that need to be done like updating drivers but we need to get your CPU issue squared away first.

Let me know how everything goes. Report back any problems your run into.

My daughter called me and asked what was wrong with her monitor. She said that when she starts her computer she gets this message "Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working" and no other display...

kds x-flat monitor, onboard video, XP, AMD

She has unplugged and replugged the video cable several times... any ideas why this is?

Answer:Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working

That suggests that the computer is not booting, or if it is, there is no video output.

The monitor is simply saying "I am OK, but the computer isn't sending me anything"

A simple check to see if the computer is booting is to try the CAPS Lock key. Pressing it will toggle the CAP light on and off each press, if the PC is running.

Hi all

I have been trying to create an Excel macro that deletes only the check mark inside the check box albeit with no success. Is there a way to do this?? I have plenty of check boxes and it is taking me a lot of time to go into each one and delete only the check marks. It would be would be pretty neat to create a macro to delete the check marks in every single check box. If someone out there has figured out how to do it, it would be a great help.

Thanks

Hello!

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 in July, I've gotten one or more BSODs (KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE) on practically every startup. I'll boot, log in, and start using the computer for about two minutes before I get a BSOD. It happens even if I'm not logged in as well. Most of the time, this will happen on multiple consecutive boots until it either stops for some reason, or Windows boots into its recovery options (only after three BSODs in a row). Interestingly enough, when I remain on the recovery screen for an extended period of time and reboot, I don't get the BSOD again and can boot successfully. The crashes are caused mostly by ntoskrnl.exe with occasional assistance from dxgkrnl.exe. As I understand, this error is caused by incompatible drivers, but I'm not quite sure how to approach the issue since both of those files appear to be system files (NT Kernel & DirectX). I've attached the necessary info below! Thanks!

Hi guys,

I've tried my best to not waste anyone's time by thoroughly searching the web and these forums for a similar issue, but as it turns out, most BSOD issues are very specific to the host environment. So I hope you'll bear with me.

My computer has been randomly crashing for almost 1 week now. I initially thought it was caused by Avast, but uninstalling it didn't solve the problem. I then updated my network card driver as suggested by an error in one of the dump files, but that too wouldn't do it. I ran the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, shut off the computer for 3 hours in hopes for it to cool off, but no luck there either. I remember having this problem 1 year ago and I was advised then to update my graphics card driver , but the update process wouldn't complete successfully. The computer always crashed each time before the finish line, so I was advised to use the OS generic driver instead and I've lived in peace ever since until this issue resurfaced ~1 week ago.

I have an table that I am updating from a temporary table in vb. But some of the records are duplicates and I update certain fields and some are new records that I must append/add to the the table.
How would I code for this?
At present I read the temp table in a loop and use the key to read the permanent table.
Set dblead = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(sql2 & dbxcel!Gift)
where sql2 is
sql2 = "SELECT gift, hometel, worktel, cell, race " & _
"From Lead " & _
" Where lead.gift = "
This comes up with an error :3021 runtime error - no current record
which is correct as the record needs to be appended instead of edited.
How do I cater/code around this?
when I had it just appending to the database - I got the error about duplicate keys which was also correct; but of course also stopped the processing.

Answer:Return code/error check in VB for Access 2007

It is far easier to just create an Append Query and an Update Query and run them via VBA.
You can use the Set Warnings to switch of & back on the System warnings.

Hi all,

I need to check Terminal Services is Enable or not on a remote machine. I find one link from this Forum. link is as below :

https://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-1609344.php

and i have get the code as below and executed.

BOOL Is_Terminal_Services ()

{

OSVERSIONINFOEX osvi;

DWORDLONG dwlConditionMask = 0;

// Initialize the OSVERSIONINFOEX structure.

ZeroMemory(&osvi, sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX));

osvi.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX);

osvi.wSuiteMask = VER_SUITE_TERMINAL | VER_SUITE_SINGLEUSERTS;

// Initialize the condition mask.

VER_SET_CONDITION( dwlConditionMask, VER_SUITENAME, VER_OR );

// Perform the test.

return VerifyVersionInfo(

&osvi,

VER_SUITENAME,

dwlConditionMask);

}

int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[])

{

bool bflag = Is_Terminal_Services () ;

}

But even I am unable to analyze. Because if my Terminal service is stopped then it returns 0 else it returns 1.

But my Terminal service is not enable in Control Panel -> Add and Remove Programs -> Add / Remove Windows Components -> Terminal Services.

So I need the check the above thing whether Terminal Services are enable or not so what I need to Do. Kindly provide any code snippet will be great.

Every time i try to back up my files to the hard drive i get the above error code showing up on data(d) and it keeps saying last back up failed. I have done a disk check and it came up with number of root causes 1. Whatever that means cause i am a 60 year old layman at this computer game. I have defraged my discs as well, but i still keep getting the same response.
So if somebody could help me with this problem in a non tech language that i can understand, it would be very much appreciated.

Answer:Cyclic redundancy check error code 0x80070017

Are you backing up your files to your C: drive? or another hard drive.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > then Right click on the Command Prompt, then select Run As Administrator.

In the Command Prompt window type chkdsk /r you will need to restart your computer for chkdsk to start.

If your backups are on a different hard drive then run the Elevated Command Prompt as stated above. chkdsk X: /r ( With X being the drive letter of your second hard drive)

Hi, I could use some help with a recurring BSOD I have, running Windows 8.1.
I'm not sure what info is most helpful, but I have minidumps, etc.
I'm including the events for each of the three occurrences (2/9/15, 1/30/15, 1/20/15), including the bugcheck event and the last set of Administrative Events that appeared to have occurred leading up to the reboot (which never actually reboots but hangs on the new, pale, Windows 8 BSOD).
I have removed the WatchESPN and TouchMail (DaVincisGarageLLC) Metro apps from the system, although I suspect that their failures are just a downhill cascade from the rpcss.dll failure (the very first event listed each time).

Hi, I just started getting this message when I start up Windows Word from Office 2013.
"Microsoft Word 15 has been terminated to prevent execution of malicious code. Check computer for malware and software updates, scan with Hitman Pro" I then scan with HM and get the same thing.

I uninstalled Office 2013, the reinstalled it thinking that the WINWORD.exe was corrupt. Well, I still get this message. I uninstalled Hitman Pro, but still have Hitman Pro Alert and get the same thing.
I think I should get rid of Hitman and just keep  Malwarebytes, or download it again. This is very frustrating, I need to use MS Word.

I was thinking getting the WINWORD.exe from another computer(my laptop) and replacing the one on the my desktop.
I am actually a software engineer, and have got and gotten rid of "RansomWare", FBI etc., so I know what I'm doing here. Besideswriting Mainframe and Unix code, I also do LAN desktop, installation, removing virus' etc.

Thanks Jay

For the past several weeks, my computer will BSOD when running Eve Online and several other programs concurrently. Running three concurrent Eve clients will cause a BSOD within a couple minutes usually. I don't necessarily believe it's an Eve problem per se, it could be related to high memory or CPU usage, which three Eve clients definitely causes. I did a clean install of the latest NVIDIA driver yesterday, but saw no difference. It is crashing in ntoskrnl.exe. I have had this computer for about six months, and this just started happening recently. It's happened four times today alone.

There was previously an unknown problem which was fixed with an OS refresh. The OS refresh was about 3, maybe 4, weeks ago.
The problem right now is that I've had a BSOD 3 times in the last week. All have been DRIVE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE s.
The happen seemingly randomly, the most recent one (today) happening about 4 hours after start-up. If there's anything else I need to post, please tell me so. I'm decently good with computers, at least usually, but this is a new expensive laptop, and I'm currently under some exam stress so I'm panicking a fair bit.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Attached is the .log from this operation. (In a .zip file)

I have been getting the BSOD since November (about 12 times) but it has only happened playing two games: Chivalry Deadliest Warrior and Battlefield 4. I never paid much attention to the crashes while playing Chivalry, because the game has many problems and it occurred infrequently.

I have just purchased Battlefield 4, and have tried playing twice, both times my computer has crashed after about 5 minutes of gameplay with a bluescreen. Bluescreenview by Nirsoft is telling me that it is the hal.dll driver that is the problem. Below is some info on my situation.

Here is the crash info that I have since November.

Sorry, but you appear to be actively bypassing software activation which is illegal. Please get rid of the illegal software, re-run dm_log_collector and upload the resulting zip file.

Thanks.

I built my first rig 4 days ago and I have started playing games 2 days after that.

Sadly, my rig mocks me with BSOD's and I am annoyed because I am running a i5 4670k and a GTX 980 Ti which are more than capable of running a lot of games at ULTRA in 1600p.

Anyhow, here is the basic BSOD info:

CompositeBus.sys is implicated in some of them. what is it? update it or remove it.

Also networking is implicated, possibly by NVidia.
