How to block emails from a domain with yahoo?

Question: How to block emails from a domain with yahoo?

I don't think it can be done...I am getting increasing emails to my main email address and I can't change it due to the fact all of my contacts for years and years have it...forwarding to a new one would cause the same problem wouldn't it?

It's that damn laposte.net/com, some french site that Yahoo won't recognize as spam yet. Any ideas or solutions?

Preferred Solution: How to block emails from a domain with yahoo?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a domain www vacationholiday net. If I put my domain link into my email- from my att.net (yahoo) account the link gets redirected. However it only gets redirected if the receiver is also at yahoo.com.

If I put for example cnn.com in the same email, or alone, that link is not redirected. If i send a cc of the email to someone that does not use yahoo.com (att.net) the link to my domain is not redirected.

I have run antivirus scans AVG and Threatfire with no resulting finding of virus or malware.

I tried to send the same emails with Outlook instead of IE, but the emails to yahoo addresses were also diverted.

Any ideas would be very appreciated. I don't want anyone to get to the tastypill site from my emails and I don't know what other urls I may put in my emails that may trigger this problem.

Here is a good one for you guys. I am a bit stumped. It could be something rather simple.

I have a client with SBS2003 R2. They have 6 users. 5 are in the office, one is remote. This remote address does not use outlook or connect via VPN to the server. The SBS uses Microsofts IMAP connector and downloads the email to the SBS. The 5 users in house can email each other, other people outside the domain, but not the 1 remote user. They all have the same @domain.com address. My understanding is that the emails to her are resolving locally, she does have a user account on the server (not a pop3 connector acct). Should I just remove her email address from her user account?

Google found me this.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300681

I tried Method 1 with no success, but was unsure if I should attempt Method 2?

Answer:SBS2003 R2- user not in sbs domain not recieving emails from users inside the domain

Not clear on your setup...so you have 6x users on your SBS box? 5x in house, and 1x at a satellite branch that does not authenticate to the domain.

And you're using the POP3 connector to pull e-mail from a mailhost out there which houses the POP3 mailboxes?

Is the default recipient policy of the Exchange server set to this "domain.com"?

The first 5x users can send/receive locally to the domain.local addresses? Did you manually add a default SMTP address for each user for domain.com?

Can e-mails to this 6th person show up in her inbox if you check from OWA?

Do you see what happens to e-mails for this 6th person in Exchange Message Tracking Center?

G'dayI have a PC here at work, which seems incaple of blocking pop-ups (or maybe pop-unders?) from a site called summersinrangoon.comI have tried, pop-up stopper pro as well as the google pop-up blocker taskbar but all to no avail. The pop-ups only occur when you click OFF Internet Explorer (thereby shutting down the google blocker one would assume?)I have run the latest Ad-aware upates and Spyware Blaster on the machine but even these don't stop it.What I want to know is if there is some way I can "block" the domain summersinrangoon.com from being accessed by the computer, thereby stopiing the pop-ups from happening. Apparently it happens all the time and no way around it has yet been found.Any thoughts?BA

I have the latest Mozilla/Firefox and I'd like to know can I block specific domain names? If so, please, how do I do it?Thank you.

Answer:how to block domain names

There are two issues. One is a domain name or part of. It can easily be blocked with a hosts file. http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hos... I recommend you install the hosts file and then add in any entries that you wish.Second is that an IP may be used in it's place. Consider a router or firewall that would block by ip addresses. Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

This is probably the wrong place to post this topic, so I welcome any idea on where I should post it.

In Windows Live Mail you can right click a message and choose block domain. It takes me 8 clicks plus copying and pasting to do the same thing in outlook 2010. I would hope there is a quicker way that I do not know about, but maybe not. I find MANY different spammer email addresses use the same domain. Any ideas?

Thanks for reading this. Eliot

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to solve this for a while now. I'd like to block all incoming emails from a specific domain, but every email i receive that i'd like to block has a different name and domain, with just the same .mobi, . biz or .ru address at the end. Example:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
b[email protected]

the only thing that always stays the same is the ending, so i'd like to just block every email from .mobi, .biz and .ru but i'm unsure how to do this! can anyone help me out? The only thing i can seem to do is block each individual email, but since they change the address each time and i only receive one email from each address, doing it that way is completely pointless.

thanks in advance for the help!

Answer:How to block an entire domain in Windows Live Mail?

Well, here's my suggestion. I suggest the procedure explained at http://email.about.com/cs/oetipstricks/qt/et112701.htm except that you try using an asterisk (*) as a wildcard along with the top level domain. In other words, in the blocked senders box, enter *.mobi, *.biz and *.ru. I am not sure WLM will accept/recognize the *. So, again this is an idea. Let us know whether it worked.

We would like to block (with Privatefirewall 7.0, and yes we understand it is somewhat obsolescent/unsupported, but so far so good) a domain name, but not sure of the correct protocol.
In this case the Malwarebytes popup was the multi-level domain name 'east7.doyourbid.bid'.
For the Privatefirewall 'Blocked Sites' and then 'Host Name:' , do we need to type in the entire 3-level name, or just the 2-level name (ie doyourbid.bid) ?
Also, we have since seen a new 3rd level, ie 'east11.doyourbid.bid', and wonder if just the 1st 2 levels will take care of any new 3rd levels.
Thoughts ?

I encrypt the local hard drives and put a password on startup.
I forbid booting from a CD.

But domain administrators can reset a password in active directory while the session is locked and so open.
Do you know a protection on the windows 7 pro itself ?
Someone would have an idea?

Trying to block spammy emails (using Outlook Express) which have a variety of sender's addresses. If I block using these, it doesn't work as the addresses keep changingCan you use the "Received: From" as seen in the email properties? The ones I'm getting are consistently fromout-mta10.ai270.net Any ideas?

Answer:Can I block emails using "Received: From"

If I remember correctly, it's not possible to block a domain in OE, anyway the domain probably changes as well, montyburns. Probably the best thing to do is use something like Mailwasher click here or ePrompter click here to vet the incoming emails. At least using one of those utilities, you wont have to download the emails to your computer before deleting. Those utilities sit between your email server and your computer, letting you know what emails are waiting to download hence letting you decide whether to download or delete them from the server, they can also be flagged up for deletion by adding them (and their domains) to the block senders list. Not an optimum solution I'm afraid but it works well.

I've noticed a massive increase in spam/junk emails, I mean I could get 30 in a matter of hours on a daily basis not to mention the junk emails that show they come from my email to myself. Ive not signed up to no dodgy site to my knowledge but I'm getting plagued by emails to do with credit card, gambling, dating and just loads of crap. This happens with outlook where the messages go into my junk folder but also with my sky email account. Ideally I know want to receive any of these messages if at all possible as I receive genuine emails that also go straight if my junk folder even though I've added the sender to my safe list. I sell cars on craigslist and am getting sick and tired of weeding through all the spammers who respond to my ads. They ask a normal question to get an initial response from you and then come back with some stupid story to get you to click on a link they send you. It's frustrating and a waste of my time. I traced the IP of the last email to brazil, I don't know about the other emails but many of these scammers come from other countries.

I was wondering if there is an email provider out there that allows you to block all non-usa ip addresses. This would solve the vast majority of my problems with spammers. Or, even, better, if there is a way to do it with my gmail account.

Also, use Malwarebytes, and CCleaner. Sometimes, while browsing you'll pickup unwanted downloads. Some of this stuff works it's way into email as spam. Good browsing habits are key. Social Networks, such as, Facebook, My space, and Twitter; Are great places to get infected with all kinds of stuff. Like email spam!

Each morning I have a list of 10-20 rejected emails that were sent out about a week ago using my domain.  I don't recognize any of the recipients (not from my email lists) nor do I recognize the email account in the From: field.  All of the emails contain a randomly named zip file that it tries to send (probably a virus).

This is an example of one of the emails.  The X-Sender is my actual email address, however the From address uses my domain but not my account name.

Is this a virus?  Is someone logging in to my account?

In the last week or so I've been hit with a ton of BS scam emails. 1 type of email is just a name "Joe" with no subject line & no body of the email. It has an (pdf) attachment like "payment.pdf" or "schedule.pdf". I figure they are just junk emails & I delete them. The problem is (1) I get several everyday now. (2) I run a small biz & don't want to accidentailly delete an important message or file someone is sending me. (I know they should say who they are when they send it, but you'd be surprised how many people will send you a file you asked for w/o any extra info) So I can't filter emails based on the fact they have a pdf attachment. The other scam I'm getting is a ton of "Greetingcard" type emails. I've figured out how to filter/delete most of them, but they still are annoying. I hope mozilla will figure out how to stop these type of emails from being sent. They usually do a good job of fixing these issues. What I'm asking is: Does anyone have any suggestions about how to stop those .pdf & greeting card emails from reaching my mailbox?

Answer:How Do I Block/trash Emails Sending Me Scam .pdf Attachments!?

If you use thunderbird, go to View, Message source, or {CTRL - U}, and you will be able to see the original email address the junque came from, it looks something like this:From - Fri Jul 20 12:57:04 2007X-Account-Key: account2X-UIDL: <[email protected]>X-Mozilla-Status: 0001X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000X-Mozilla-Keys: Return-Path: <[email protected]>Received: from fed1rmimpi02.cox.net ([70.169.32.69])then you can use the thunderbird junk mail filters to delete that email. http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/

I know this was covered in a few threads I tried this out but I seem to be lost -

http://forums.techguy.org/3599982-post2.html

What version of which email client is this for? Because I am not seeing this option -

2) Then down below where your rule shows the blue letters, click on them. When the box comes up, choose options. You will see 2 radio buttons:

Message contains the words below
Message does not contain the words below

Choose Message does not contain the words below..

When I click on the blue letters it just gives me the choice to add more letters there is no Options selection in there at all. I tried both Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003 hooked up to an exchange server and a pop server both and neither had the options choice.

Any thoughts?

I am still receiving around 20 spam mail a day although I've been trying my very best to avoid junk mail.

The titles of the junk emails are mostly similar, for example "Please rate my body". or "Russian Sexy Girls". Although they have gone to Junk section, it still causes a lot of inconvenience to me.

Hey, I'd like to know if I can block the email with titles of certain phrases? For example, I want to block the emails or senders with phrases "rate my body" because they are junk 99.9% of the time, but don't block the mail if there is only "rate" or "body" in the title or "Hi, kenny, please rate the progress of your body building". Because it may be the specified email that comes from my Gym club. Or, for example, block only "Russian sexy girls" but not "Russian sexy men with girls". Block only phrases

Thank you

Hello,

I have noticed on many occassions that when people send me an email to our business email account it says something like -

"[email protected] on behalf of Joe Blogs <[email protected]"

How do people do this?

I can see one advantage of doing this because I could use any computer or mobile device to log into my Gmail account and check my business emails. Our current set up would require me to lug around my laptop.

Does this have something to do with the domain mapping options?

Are there any disadvantages to doing it this way? Will the original email still 'live' on our business server so it can be retrieved via Outlook 2010?

Any help or direction would be appreciated!

All the best,

Dave

Hi All,

This is my first post on this site - I've been trying to figure what might be the cause of my problem, searched Google, received no help from my mail server host and so have turned to you guys.

I have an Asus F5 laptop with Vista Business and using Windows Mail for my email, with eM Client () on the same machine. My PC is a totally separate XP SP2 machine and has eM Client.

Suppose I work for "A Company", whose email addresses end in "acompany.com.au". The company's website and mail is hosted by an external 3rd party. It's a POP3 / SMTP setup and has been working fine up until I ran into my issue (below).

The issue arose around the same time that I installed iTunes after getting an iPhone (and set the iPhone up to receive mails). A business colleague did the same thing and does not have the issue I have.

Supporting info and my issue:

1. Webmail:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone: the outside world and acompany.com.au domain - no problems.

2. iPhone:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone: the outside world and acompany.com.au domain - no problems.

3a. Laptop - Windows Mail application AND eM Client (a different email application), neither of which are web-based:
I can send and receive emails to / from anyone in the outside world - i.e. they DON'T have an acompany.com.au domain email address
I can receive emails from anyone with an acompany.com.au domain email address
Emails I send to people with an aco... Read more

Answer:Emails sent to same domain not arriving

I've done some further experimentation and have some more information that may help identify the problem, and hopefully lead to it getting sorted.

If I receive an email from someone outside "acompany.com.au" and I reply and CC someone who IS from "acompany.com.au", the CC'd person gets the email. Subsequent replies back and forth then work OK - even without the original external person being on the email.

So it seems that it's just new emails I create to people with the same email domain as me. Why would that occur across different applications on different machines?

hi all,

i jz wanna ask on how can i block yahoo messenger without disturbing internet connection?i've try blocking the routert port for yahoo messenger but then the internet connection lost.can anyone suggest another method?tq in advance

Answer:How Can I Block Yahoo Messenger Without Losing Internet Connection?

How do I exit Yahoo! Messenger?

Hit the left soft key ?Options? and scroll to Exit which is the last menu item. Hit ok

You will then be presented with 2 ways to exit Yahoo Messenger

1. Exit and stay signed in: this allows you to retain your current presence status but continue to use other functionality within your phone such as sending an SMS or MMS. When you have a new IM arrive you will be notified by an SMS that will pop up on your handset and inform you that you have a new IM and autolaunch you into the IM client.
2. Sign off from Yahoo!: this means that you will be permanently exited from Y! Messenger until you sign back in again therefore you will appear offline to your contacts.

Can I exit the application and remain logged in so people can still contact me via IM?

Yes you can exit the application so as to use other function on your phone and remain logged in. This means that when someone tries to contact you via IM you will receive a pop screen informing you that someone has tried to contact you and will direct you back to the IM

Have been using a domain name for my website and emails for 20 years. About a month or so ago I discovered that people sending emails to my domain name got their emails bounced back if there was an attachment that exceeded about 4MB with the message "A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients" Although an email sent to my real address with an attachment far exceeding 4MB is delivered OK! My provider is not interested in troubleshooting anything outside their scope! Can anyone suggest anything....

Like [email protected], [email protected], etc. Then I thought that would be too confusing , so maybe one of two would be enough.

I would really appreciate some suggestions and ideas on how other handle their emails on their own domain. FYI, I do have a domain for my freelance business but another email could be useful.

A friend cannot log into their Yahoo email account.
--- I suspect they have not been able to do so at least 6 months, maybe even up to a year.
--- They do not know when the issue started so I have to guess based on what they have told me.
--- They do not know what their password was. "Well they have umpteen choices of what it could be".
--- When whatever started to go wrong they kept on trying to log-in so many times they probably might have set a Guinness World Record.
They were using an XP computer and it crashed on them about 3 months and haven't tried to access their account since then.
--- They asked me to fix their XP computer but I do not help anyone fix an outdated & unsupported OS.
--- They just bought a Windows 10 laptop and still cannot log-in to their Yahoo email account and most likely extended their Guinness World Record.

There are other issues with Yahoo e-mail as well (unless they've changed their policies since I last looked into this).   They do not allow the executor of an individual's estate to access that person's e-mail account and to close it.  While this may seem silly to be concerned about to some it often turns out to be a serious issue, particularly for those of us who've gone primarily paperless for all sorts of billing and payments.  It's essential that an executor of an estate have access to all of the "papers and effects" of the deceased.  This is one of the reasons I stopped using my Yahoo account a number of years ago.  I really should just close it.

My uncle has a small physiotherapy clinic made up of a 5 or so people. He already has a domain name registered for his website and wants to setup email accounts for all of his employees. Unfortunately, he nor I have no clue how to go about doing this so we need some help.

I think what he wants is just a normal work email with 5 or 6 emails under the domain he's registered for the website. I have no idea how this works so please bear with me.

Thanks in advance,

Answer:Emails for a small business with a custom domain

It all depends on if the hosting he has offers email if that's the case then he would add the email addresses at the hosting control panel.

If he has no mail on his web hosting then I'd go for Google apps free, that will allow you to setup mail for your domain for up-to 10 users Google Apps helps groups build communities ? Google Apps

To setup something like the google option you will need to edit the MX records for the domain, but I think they explain it all quite well while running through the setup.

I am in the process of setting up an SPF record, we have full rDNS setup and its related to our domin name (eg rDNS to ip 1.1.1.1 = outmail.ourdomain.com)

Is there any other ways to stop people spamming and spoofing your domain name? eg people are sending mail with [email protected] as the sender. The problem is that loads of mail server just send me spam notification even though the header clearly shows its from a server in japan and nothing to do with our server.

Answer:How to stop people spoofing your domain in emails?

Also known as "joe-jobbing". No, there isn't a way. The receiving servers would have to drop all mail from your domain if it didn't meet certain criteria. Emphasis on receiving servers, as in ones you don't control.

Sucks, but there you go.

Hi Guys,

having an issue that some of the users on our domain have been receiving emails sent from external senders but they appear as having been sent from our domain - "on behalf" of the external users address.

i.e. our domain is say - roman.org
some users are receiving email from say [email protected] however, the message they receive appears to come from [email protected] - on behalf of [email protected]

I am quite confused as to how this is happening since "[email protected]" is not a user on our exchange, nor is the email applied anywhere.
Even if they were using SMTP through the exchange server somehow - our exchange only allows mail to be sent from certain IP addresses, and only allows relay from certain IP's.

Does anyone know how or why this kind of thing is happening and how to put a stop to it?

I have tried searching the net for an explanation but can't seem to find something similar.

thanks in advance for any help.

Answer:Solved: Exchange 2010 - Receiving emails from own domain?

Not even been up long and i have found out what was causing this.

Our externally hosted website (which had access to our exchange) had been setup to use SMTP to send email from the contact form on the site.
All these emails were coming from there through our exchange and using randomly generated email addresses from our own domain to send these emails.

We have now updated this so it uses a generic email address, so not to cause anymore confusion of receiving emails from random addresses which look like they are on our domain.

I am having a very weird issue with my workstation. When trying to access Yahoo! domain pages, i.e., mail.yahoo.com, www.yahoo.com, etc., I get a "page cannot be displayed" error. There are some other pages that I am also unable to access. However, 90% of websites I try to open do just fine. I have run multiiple virus scans with SAV Corporate Edition, Trend Micro Housecall, AVG with current virus definitions on each. Our small office is not on a domain and uses a simple workgroup.
We can’t receive emails (pop or imap, standard ports) from our domain work email since two days ago when the company providing our internet connection changed/updated something to do with our internet connection (requiring new router credentials and a new IP address).

The STRANGE thing is other email accounts work fine if set up here (using the same kind of ports etc) and our work emails receive fine through other internet connections!
We have been in contact with both the company that provides our internet connection (we have two connections with them, one for pc’s & laptops and one for the phone system - which I've also tested with our email unsuccessfully) and the company that provides the email service. Both companies have not been able to fix this or pin point the problem.

Any ideas much appreciated!

I got an iPhone for Christmas, and have been attempting to get my Yahoo Mail Contacts downloaded into my Outlook 2003 account. BUT..... Once I set Yahoo up to forward all emails to outlook, i opened Outlook, since I had so many emails in Yahoo, it was taking FOREVER to sync Outlook with all the emails. I then deleted the Yahoo account out of Outlook so that it would stop trying to download all of the emails. Then, today since I had extra time, i re-entered Yahoo into Outlook, and now it is starting all over, Duplicating the emails that it has already downloaded??? (I have over 4000 emails). What can i do, and can i ever get the emails from my Contacts / Personal Folders on Yahoo Webmail to download onto Outlook?
note: I had to set up Yahoo via the "other" Email account setup, it would never work with the link provided.
Any advice for this iphone and Outlook Noobie will be Thankful!

Companies will soon have to buy the electronic equivalent of a postage stamp if they want to be certain that their e-mail will be delivered to many of their customers.

America Online and Yahoo, two of the world's largest providers of e-mail accounts, are about to start using a system that gives preferential treatment to messages from companies that pay from 1/4 of a cent to a penny each to have them delivered. The senders must promise to contact only people who have agreed to receive their messages, or risk being blocked entirely.

The Internet companies say that this will help them identify legitimate mail and cut down on junk e-mail, identity-theft scams and other scourges that plague users of their services. They also stand to earn millions of dollars a year from the system if it is widely adopted.

AOL and Yahoo will still accept e-mail from senders who have not paid, but the paid messages will be given special treatment. On AOL, for example, they will go straight to users' main mailboxes, and will not have to pass the gantlet of spam filters that could divert them to a junk-mail folder or strip them of images and Web links. As is the case now, mail arriving from addresses that users have added to their AOL address books will not be treated as spam.

Yahoo and AOL say the new system is a way to restore some order to e-mail, which, because of spam and worries about online scams, has become an increasingly unreliable way for companies to reach their customers, ev... Read more

Hi,

In the last few weeks I have started to notice that some of my emails (sent from Yahoo) do not make it to the recipient. It took me a while to realize it because they doesn't bounce back but then my family/friends tell me they never received XYZ email (I live abroad). I have started to test the issue with my parents; it appears that sometimes they get it normally, sometimes they get it 2 days later, sometimes they don't see the color of it! How weird is that!?!?!! It happens so randomly that I can't tell why...

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Please help! I would prefer to keep my Yahoo account if possible, I've had it for years!

Thanks in advance,
Brigitte
