LIVE Video mixing/streaming applications

Question: LIVE Video mixing/streaming applications

I am looking for an application that will do live video mixing and streaming. I want to be able to do multiple inputs (of either webcams, or cameras, or capture cards) and have it allow me to switch between all of them as well as allow me to do overlays. I have looked everywhere and can't find something that will do this, does anyone know what I can use to do this? Any help is much appreciated.

Preferred Solution: LIVE Video mixing/streaming applications

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have to add a video player for playing live channel in my windows 8.1 application.

Answer:How can we add live video streaming or a live video player in windows 8.1 application?

You have two options.
1) Find an app in the app store that carries the stream you want
2) Find a website that uses HTML5

This has been happening on and off ever since I started with Win 10 and its always very annoying .

System just hangs, no error message, no bsod, just complete freeze and loud hum.

I cant say I can remember having issues watching youtube videos, its the streaming of live content such as filmon. Sometimes I can watch filmon for days and not have the issue and then randomly it will start again. Today I was watching hypermole playing on twitch tv (live) and it just happened. Getting tired of it.
I can also report having all my video content display as a green screen after using hyper v although that may be totally unrelated.

As far as I am aware, I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics, I always try update everything. I have attached the log files as requested.

Hi m1a1t,

Welcome to the 10forums

I'm not a specialist when it comes to freeze problems, but I do have a tip (or 2 when talking about reverting back the changes)
IObit software is known for causing problems, I would highly recommend that you remove it and revert back the changes it made when it comes to drivers.
DB3 may install corrupted or the wrong drivers what may cause problems,Malwarefighter is IMHO garbage,Advanced SystemCare may cause more harm than good
About the uninstall program I can't tell you anything, because I have no experience with it and I prefer to keep it that way.

Im using www.uStream.tv right now to Live Stream my video,
but I want to LIVE Stream Video without www.uStream.tv
through Adobe Live Media Encoder, but I have no Idea what
the FMS URL is.. I looked at a tutorial it said to write it like this,
HTML:
Enter the following address for 'FMS URL':

rtmp: //Your_Domain_or_IP/live/instance_name

Replace Your_Domain_or_IP with your domain name or
dedicated IP address (if your account has been assigned one).
When entering your domain name, do not enter the 'www.'
portion (e.g. type in mysite.com and not www.mysite.com).

The instance name is arbitrary and is used to reference the
stream.

Example FMS URL: rtmp://mysite.com/live/soccermatch
So mine would be rtmp://voccc.com/live/service
but I dont have a /Live/service direction wtf! please help!

My website is www.voccc.com
Need answer ASAP,
Thanks,
Ruben

Answer:Help Live Video Streaming?

Its fairly easy----you need to encode your video to a format like .wmv (Windows), upload it to a server, and voila, thats it. Most basic NLE's will allow you to do this---Remember, you need a server to host your video and that since video files are fairly large, you would want to make sure that you get a good deal on bandwidth usage with your provider.

I'm trying to help my church get live video streaming of the sermons online but I'm not quite sure of the software I need. My church already records all the sermons and makes them available online so they already have the camera setup they need. I want something along the lines of like Shoutcast but for video. I want the source to send data to a higher bandwidth server that can then redistribute it to any viewers. I know uStream is available but we'd prefer to have something of our own setup. The computers in the booth run Windows XP and we have a co-located Linux server running CentOS. Can anyone help out?

I also hope this is the best forum area to post this in.

Answer:Live Video Streaming From Church

Well, I would really recommend uStream, but if you're dead set against it, check out VLC player. I'm no expert on it, but I think you could set it up on the WinXP system, then set it up on the CentOS server, and have CentOS re-broadcast the stream to your viewers. (setup the WinXP comp to stream, then tell the server to get it's source video from that stream)

Answer:How to record live streaming video

Hi,
I guess that maybe there would a problem with copyright, I may be wrong?

I would assume live streaming as 2009 would conflict with the rights of the owner.

Other members may have more insight into this particular aspect of legal/copyright.

Not sure where this belongs, since it is audio thought here, feel free to move to proper location if there is one...

This has been an issue for me for a long while now and still cant figure out why, I have gone and built another PC with a better sound card but still cannot get any audio.

I have no problems with audio when I am streaming video from a file, but if it is live streaming I get video but no audio, sorry it seems repetitive but just drives me nuts.

I have a hauppauge1600 PCI Tuner card, and I had no problem with the video, nor with the audio when I was in Media Center, and when streaming a video file, I have tried using some streaming programs and havent had any luck, have used: webcamax, unreal, broadcam, adobe flash video encoder, windows media encoder, video lan.... and nothing plays audio

I have also installed codecs, sharks codecs and even bought another tuner card Kworld PCI ATSC Hybrid HDTV Card (PC150-U). Even got a new Creative X-Fi extreme sound card thinking that was going to fix it, but noooooooo....

at wits end at the moment, and about to shelve this again for a few weeks, but this is last resort, can someone point me in right direction or at least help me trouble shoot?

HELP!

Answer:Have video but no Audio, when streaming live

Guess no one wants to mess with this one, and I'll have to shelve it yet once again. I took out the X-Fi sound card, and still have no audio when streaming live, even updated the RealTek Hd audio drivers to latest. so the onboard dont work either on live streaming.

WMP tries to open it but stops after about 10 seconds. Sometime the stream works perfectly though, which perhaps means its not WMPs fault, but theres something wrong with the computer. Hi all.
I've got the mlb.com baseball package. However, the video always ends up freezing or stop and go. Sometimes it will work fine for as long as 2 min. Sometimes if I let it run, it corrects itself. Other times it freezes my pc. This has been going on since I subscribed about 2-3 weeks ago. I've tried every setting as far as display properties, text size, shutting off security center so there would be no background programs running. Including windows update. Still no luck. I've also tried disabling the display adapter, rolled back driver , updated driver. Every time I log in, I get this message after clicking the error icon on the MLB screen:Message: Object doesn't support this property or method

Hello, I have noticed that sometimes when I am watching live video being streamed from websites on the web that my PC will just shut down.  I know that this can be sometimes caused by overheating, or too many programs running at once but usually when I'm watching streaming video that is all I'm doing.  It may be caused by fullscreen viewing on the websites, but when I play DVD's or watch movies that I'm downloaded in Full screen this doesn't happen.  I don't receive an error message(I know this may be because of a setting that calls for auto restart when errors occur.) the PC will just shut down and then I can hear my HD revving really fast.  My PC to my knowledge has a good power source and it is an intel processor 6x T1100 Phantom II so, it should be able to handle quite a bit I would think.  Any help would be appreciated, I know you guys are the best because you've helped me before.

Answer:Live Video/Audio Streaming

If you want to have some type of on-line interactive meeting between people at two or more locations, the feature is included with Windows 2000 and XP:

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/NetMeeting/InAction/default.ASP

If you wish to broadcast your meeting over the internet then you will need to run some type of streaming server and have a high bandwidth connection out of your meeting location.

Does anyone know of a simple, straightforward application that can record/save live webstreams in order to watch them again later? The webstreams are basically concerts. I notice that by right clicking, that the webstreams use Adobe flashplayer. But, right clicking doesn't result in any way to save the webstream. (I can sort of see why. The source would need to save it and make it available as a link.)

Or, another option is I can choose a lower video quality by clicking on a link from the source site, and this causes the webstreams to open in windows media player.
So, I'm hoping to be able to save them, and maybe even edit them. But every program I've looked at seems too complicated for my beginner status.
I've downloaded Itunes, but as far as I know it can't record right?

Answer:Recording live streaming video

I use Real Player which is free, and has a "Download this Video" link that is fabulous. This link will download any video, movie, music, etc. The only thing that will prevent the downloading, is if the item is protected from downloading by its license (which happens occasionally, but not that often).

Answer:No Video (audio only) When Live Streaming

What exact pages don't work/or what player are they using? YouTube is "streaming" video, so obviously "streaming" video is working.

Most likely, whatever player is used on the page(s) that don't work, needs to be updated or reinstalled.

Does anyone have experience with live streaming video servers? What I would like to do is that a live broadcast that originates from Quicktime Broadcaster, pipe it through a video encoder and format agnostic server, and offer it up to clients.

Wowza Media Server (@wowzamedia.com) seems to do that but the $65/month they want for it is a bit steep for the 2-3 hours per month that I need this to work. I do need a version that more than 10 clients can connect to.

Generally speaking paying for a server product isn't the issue if it's a one-off price, the subscription based approach isn't going to work though.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated, I can host on Windows or LInux, MacOS Server isn't an option.

I am not sure if this counts as a hardware or software question, but here goes:

We are trying to set up a streaming solution for multiple live cameras in various locations. The locations are bars and they are spread around the US, so we are trying to pursue options that don't require a computer at the source for the media encoding. We have looked at several standalone cameras and some media server units, but nothing seems to be quite what we need. Plus, there are some questions that aren't getting answered through phone calls to the manufacturers etc. I have looked on the Microsoft site, but there doesn't seem to be a media streaming forum that I could find. Search engines are yielding a lot of irrelevant results.

Does anyone here have experience with this sort of thing, or know of a good forum where I could get some info? I need to know if hardware exists that will send windows media encoded streams, or whether a remote server could handle encoding streams from 50 different cameras... stuff along those lines.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi guys,

We cut the cable and are relying on Roku (in the bedroom) and Xbox 360 (in the living room) to watch TV through Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. We had some nasty weather come through this week and my other half (some may say my better half) wanted to just have the weather on the TV while we were hanging out. So, I set off to make that happen.

A local TV station (1011now.com) has a Livestream feature on their site, which requires Adobe FlashPlayer, and I was hoping to use that. However, Xbox 360's version of Internet Explorer does not support FlashPlayer. So, I scoured the web to see what I could find and it seemed that I may be able to stream video from my computer to the Xbox via web browser.

After about 30 hours of frustration and a fresh installation of Windows, I finally have my computer linked to my Xbox 360. I can play videos and music from my computer libraries without any problems. That being said, I still can't for the life of me figure out how to stream the FlashPlayer content to the 360.

I also learned that I don't have Windows Media Center (WMC) on my computer, which is what the 360 wants to use to do that kind of thing. I also learned that WMC isn't available for Windows 8.1. That is, unless I've grossly misunderstood something.

Any ideas on how I could make this happen?

My principal problem with my new Windows 8, and which never occurred with XP, Vista or W7, is that if I am streaming a radio programme through Chrome, then wish to work, with Word for example, the radio cuts out until I return to Chrome. How can I make both radio and Word work simultaneously ?

Answer:Radio streaming while using other applications

Hi there
Much better idea -- don't use a browser - use this application -- Logictech SQUEEZE SERVER with the SQUEEZEPLAY application -- you can play your own Music as well as Internet Radio etc. BOTH FREE. It will also play music from network disks and you can stream music around the house via Wifi etc . You don't need to have the Logitech hardware - Other computers can recive the streamed media too. Uses very little resource, works on W8 x-86 and X-64 and saves you having to be in a browser when you want to do other things on your computer.

This software can also stream to your mobile phone if you download the mobile phone app too.

Some Software Beta Downloads - Version 7.8

download ist two applications in the list

Note - sometimes when using a browser if the Internet Radio pauses it could be one of two things -- your Internet connection isn't fast enough or the server isn't fast enough -- both causes will cause time outs and re-buffering.

The Squeezeplay software allows you to Buffer a certain time before playing which is quite good if you are experiencing a lot of "time outs" - although the application will then take slightly longer to start. Set it say to 25 secs as a test.

Currently listening to Classical New England (WGBH) from Boston MA.

Cheers

I have been creating GIF animations for some time now. Is there software that will allow me to edit a animated gif into a video, or mix. I am sort of new at this video stuff, knowing and learning the different video formats, etc. But am learning as I go.I am sure there is software that will possibly do it,but not really sure if its feasable or not. I don't add audio to my animations, so audio is really not needed in the GIF part of the video. Just the animated Gif is fine with no sound , etc.

Any ideas or info would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks anyone.

Ps: I have downloaded a few videos off the internet, but have noticed that some of them will only play in real player, or win media player, but not both. Are the video formats for Real player, and Win media player compelety different. If they are, can they be changed or re formated to play wmv or avi formats?

Hello guys, I'm new here and I need some help.

I got a laptop, working on Windows Vista Home Premium and I have met up with a problem.

I realize that everytime I visit youtube or any other streaming websites with a video or audio file being loaded, my other media applications like Windows Media Player 11, Real Player, Windows Media Player Classic, iTune etc will cease to work. They will either not play an audio/video file or that the audio/video file will not have any sound when I press play. In general, my media applications will not work simultaneously if I'm loading online streaming files. The media applications will only work if I close the my internet browser, be it Firefox or IE. I have never experienced this problem with my old PC which uses Windows XP).

To give a better view of the problem, here is a scenrio of the problem:

open my favorite music player(Window Player, iTunes, Realplayer etc) and have it start playing a song (it will work perfectly fine.)

now go open a browser window, and go stream some music, say Youtube or Imeem.com,
OR
open an online game, which has a soundtrack that plays in the background constantly.

now, while the internet based application is streaming/ playing a song or video, go to my media player, and try to play a NEW song or video.

I will now recieve an error box in the windows media player that reads "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." ... Read more

Question: Orb Live Streaming

Hey guys,
Its rajkalyan here.
I put Orb on my brother's laptop so that we could watch cricket on the TV through my Wii, but I couldn't. I went to Orb's support site and looked up stream video and found how to do it. It says to go to Video, Online Video and Select an Online video site (Don't know why this is bold )
Anyways, I could not find that menu. I went to Online Video and all I found was Google Video, Guba and Dailymotion. There was no Select an Online video site. So I wish to know, how can I stream live cricket from my brother's laptop to my Wii with Orb?

Thanks!

Question: streaming live TV

Is there any way to get live tv (ie - local stations, cable stations like Discovery and Comedy Central) on my computer by streaming off the net? I've seen the software that claims 4000+ satellite channels for a one time fee but their channels are from many different countries and they don't show a list of available channels (they probably don't have discovery, comedy central, sci-fi, etc.). I'm looking for something legit (monthly fees ok) and that has plenty of HD content and I do not want to have to use a video input card.

Thanx.

Question: Live Streaming

On my site, I'm making a section on live streaming. For example, 3:00 this video plays, 3:05 this different video plays... you get it. I could create a simple PHP script which gets the time, and when 3:05 hits it will change the .swf/.wmv streaming file, but then someone can just change their computer's time.

Is there any easier way to do this? Preferable not using advanced PHP or action script?

Thanks!

Basically i am looking at getting a new laptop to stream live sports in hd and wondering what specs I should be looking for. On my old laptop there is a little bit of lagging which is definitely caused by the laptop and not the streams as it works perfectly on my desktop. i was wondering would i be better getting something with more ram or a better processor? which is more important in this instance. thanks in advance

Answer:Specs for Live Streaming

Pretty much anything you buy new today can stream HD video as long as it's not one of those super cheap AMD single core laptops. Pretty much anything with a decent dual core processor and at least 4GB of RAM will work. If you want good overall performance than look at an Intel i3 or i5 processor base laptop and more than 4GB of RAM.

Hey everyone!

Here is what i'm trying to do: Find a wireless streaming solution, so i can share my wildlife cam with my friends and family.

I have uniden UDR744 security system, with 2 wireless cameras, and the only way i can view my cameras is if i use the monitor that came with the system, or downloading an app on my phone. I cannot view it on my computer or stream it to any sites (or cannot figure out how).

Is there a way to stream with these cameras? If not, is there a wireless webcam that's affordable and would allow me to stream without having a computer plugged in (as the camera is in my yard, that would not be ideal)

Thanks in advance. I can provide any relevant information needed

-Justin

Answer:Webcam And Live Streaming Help

According to the manual for your security system, it seems there is no direct way to stream this to a Windows based device.

There are 3rd party applications but I find it discouraging of the more than 2000 supported cameras with this application, not one Uniden is listed.

Frankly, I thought this would have a simple solution but it does not appear so. I will say it is probably a more secure system this way because then hackers cannot easily hack in and see if you are home, or if your kids, for example, are home alone.

I did find this, Uniden Guardian but it does not look like it has been updated in a awhile.

Exploring possibilities on streaming audio from website, any hints from the pros?
Is Icecast the cheaper answer for streaming mp3's. Any freeware that ya'll may have used in the past that may ease the burden?

Answer:Live streaming audio.

Here's an idea for you smart guys. Live streaming audio is very expensive due to bandwidth. Here's a possible solution to the bandwidth problem.

1. Server gets request for audio stream, downloads small client that acts as a peer2peer server for concurrent downloads to the PC requesting the audio. If the server cannot meet bandwidth requirements of user, user's client seeks other client's peer2peer servers to grab any missing packets that the original server cannot provide fast enough.
Each client download can include a encoded list of IP's from concurrent users to use as additional sources for the stream.

Any idea's, comments? Media must be cached in order for this to work, a small ramdisk can be set up by client application in order to cache and prefetch.
Of course, user has to be notified somehow that his use of the streaming client is contingent on some use of his upload speed, and client server should uninstall automatically on disconnect.

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. My PC is an HP Pavilion A6137c and my OS is Vista and I currently 4 GB of memory. My DSL is with AT&T. My DSL speed is 1.5. When I try to watch live streaming it freezes and stops. Does this mean I need to increase my DSL service? I have a Motorola 2210-02 modem that really feels hot to the touch. I thought this might have something to do with it.

Do I need a new computer?

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Slow Live Streaming

No modem (nor modem/router) should feel hot. The air vents are clogged, or you are not giving it sufficient space, or it is defective.

When I try to watch live streaming it freezes and stops.Click to expand...

Stops completely? It does not resume streaming after a pause?

I assume by "1.5" you mean 1.5 Mbps download. Is that what you measure with something like Speedtest.net?

This probably belongs, technicaly, in the Software forum.

But, I think what you're looking for is 'Media Server' software. There are all sorts, each with different capabilities so you will want to do some research which is best for you. Of course, the prices vary greatly according to functionality.

They also have stand-alone hardware which handles the Server and Storage functions.

Hi! i have a online tv subscription, running through vlc. Occasionally its keeps rebuffering, so can i somehow test whether its server or client problem?

Answer:Live streaming rebuffering

May be your internet speed is not fast enough to make constant buffering unnecessary. That's the usual cause, not their server or your software. Be aware that internet speed varies throughout the day, with evenings being the worst time for heavy network traffic which can affect download and streaming speeds.

One of the most difficult issues we deal with is trying to set something up to work, like streaming a live feed from a church, while there is no one tech savvy on site. My current setup is having a laptop plugged into a TV and someone manually clicking on an icon to bring up the service, maximize the screen, etc. at a specific time. Is there anything I can run to schedule this to make this happen automatically? So that the only thing that needs to be done is the TV turned on? I would appreciate any help out there.

Hello tenforums members,
I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.

I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail? I would appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks.

Hi,
I was able to resolve the issue by disabling all hardware enhancements for Conexant Smartaudio HD. Here are the steps I took to resolve it, in case someone else runs into the same frustrating problem as I did: Right click on the speaker icon on the lower right hand corner -> Playback Devices -> Disable all hardware enhancements -> OK -> Reboot. I recently installed Windows Service Pack 2, actually three times after reinstating my computer software to the original state by erasing and reinstalling the full software install CD on my computer's hard drive for Window XP Home. I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? I can attach my system computer file of my information if you like in an e-mail if it will help. AND YES I HAVE THE DIVX CODECS. I thought about that to and uninstalled and reinstalled them with the same random problems. PLEASE HELP ME. This is really annoying.

Answer:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

I have just discovered how great Windows live applications are, how once you've signed in you get some really great things like sky drive and Live mail for example. I know this has been brought to the attention of the forum before, but I just wanted to share it again with my experience.
When signing in you are asked to provide a user name and if you choose one that is already used you get suggestions about others similar, or if it has not been used then you get a message to tell it is ok. Then it asks you to provide a password and gives you a security rating and suggestions about how the password should be done with combinations of letters and numbers. There is a strenght monitor which guides you so you get one that is strong.
Once signed in there are no nags about what you should have, so you choose exactly which applications you want and you can add to them all the time. You get your own home page. Anyway you can find out more yourselves by taking a look.
I have been very impressed, my mail comes to me and I can pick it up on my mobile phone (cell phone) and it is secure.
So go over to the live site I am sure you'll find at least one thing of interest.

They say "Third Times a Charm" right? Well, this is my third attempt of posting a new thread. My first for the forum. Hello!

I have a Handycam and installed (proudly bragging- I know it isn't hard, just intimidating at first) a firewire card on my pc, found the Windows Movie Maker & how to record live on the computer. At first I had a question about doing this, but left my thread page up while I looked for the information myself and found it. (I hate to get help unless I really need it) I didn't copy what I wrote and lost it all when it wouldn't post and I had to log in again. I am copying this one.

I want to know how to stream live on the internet. I am trying to get a job teaching online and will be using software from Dolzip Spotlight a website that is primarily another language and a little hard to understand (even when I had Google translate the page) So, if any of you can tell me where to go or what software I could/should use to test out some live streaming, I'd appreciate it.

For now, all I know how to do is capture video and play it back.

Hello.I've discovered a UK website called click here by which I can stream 'live' tv programmes similar to freeview directly to my computer.I've just watched 'Flog It' on BBC 2 and it was a great picture at 4.3. I also watched an action scene from 'Voyager' on Virgin also at 4.3 and this wasn't so great.I have Tiscali for my broadband & phone and am very lucky to get a speed of 6.5 to 7.0mbps. Is there any way to improve the overall picture quality a little to stop the blurring and fuzziness of the action scenes please?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you very much.

Recently bought a Sony Handycam. Model number is HDR-CX240. I am trying to live stream through this.. In other words, get the camcorder to work as a webcam. It has a USB cable, HDMI, and a mini-SD slot..I've tried doing everything I know to do.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Answer:Sony Camcorder-Live streaming help!

I know that some cameras support this while others do not. The problem is in the camera itself as to whether it is fast enough to be able to encode on the fly to USB communications. I'd contact the manufacturer and see what they say, especially if bought new. This way they can tell you if it supports this or not and if it doesnt you can return it and get a better model that likely costs more that supports this feature.BTW, the last live stream I assisted with used a Camera + a Video capture card. The Video Capture card took the video feed from composite AV connection between camera and PC and this processed on the fly using the quadcore computer with capture card which was connected to the broadband connection which then fead the video to dimdim which was free at the time for video streaming/conferencing and now costs money to use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DimdimThis was used for a Game Con live stream years ago that I assisted with. What software are you using to stream with etc?

Does anybody know of a program that will record or capture live webcam footage that I am viewing on my computer from other peoples web cams? Sound doesn't matter. Just the image streaming.

Answer:How to record or capture live web cam streaming?

Although it's not designed specifically to capture live/streaming video, you could use a general screen recording tool like FRAPS or Camtasia to do this.

Hey everyone.I'm trying to get some input on a system my company is working on. I'm hoping someone here has dealt with it before and may be able to point me in the right direction. We are building a website for a business. That's no problem. But, they would like to setup video security cameras within their office and live stream them to the website (public site, not internal). Does anyone know of any good systems we could set them up with? The most important thing, is that this system must have some good software and be fairly user friendly so we can figure out how to stream it to the site. I appreciate any ideas! Thanks!

I have a customer that wants to do an in-house streaming video server with 5 big screens to show videos, slide shows, POS promo type stuff.

They said they don't mind wiring up a dedicated network for this use to avoid flooding their existing network with the video traffic.

Just looking for suggestions from you guys who have done this type of project on video appliances or video servers and the hardware to connect the 5 screens.

Answer:Inhouse streaming video POS/Retail video suggestions?

You can get units that will take a VGA input and output it to several monitors over Cat5. One of my clients uses this in their office, forget the exact name of it.

Anybody use these? I figured I would add one to my collection of LiveUSB flash drives that I carry around for troubleshooting purposes. I came across Kaspersky Live and threw it on a flash drive. I found it interesting how it works, updates within the interface and then scans. I have yet to really put it to the test, but I have heard positive reviews of Kaspersky in the past so I hope and expect it to work beautifully for those heavily infected systems that can't successfully boot.

Likewise, this brings up a few questions. For one, I'm curious what other LiveUSB/CD Anti Virus apps are out there. I'm wondering if there's anything else to consider or if Kaspersky is a home run in itself. Secondly, I'm wondering to what degree these flash drives are safe in regard to spreading other infections. I suppose in order for a virus to run, the operating system has to be online and initiated with its series of processes, which would also include the infection in question. That being said, if I boot to a flash drive like this, what is happening in the background? Is it possible that anything besides the updates are being written to the flash drive?

I've had the unfortunate (or maybe it's fortunate) experience of first hand seeing how infections can spread from one flash drive to a computer to an external hard drive so very easily, so it has me on high alert to make sure if I use this flash drive on one system that when I go to another, I don't infect that one with anything. Overall... Read more

Well, I have a desktop with a pretty decent sound card, no monitor though. I use the computer for the sole reason of playing music through my surroundsound via Remote Desktop.... Anyways... I recently managed to rip the headphone port right out of my laptop (my main computer) and the computer seems to detect headphones still in the port(whats left of it), so I can't have any sound whatsoever on my laptop anymore...

Is there a way to stream all sounds from my laptop, to the desktop? It'd be better this way anyways, if it would have all my sounds playing through my surroundsound.

If there isn't, is there a way to disable my laptop from detecting the headphones that aren't there, so I can at least play sound through my laptop speakers?
