Preferred Solution: Microsoft Office installer launches with Open Office

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Microsoft Office installer launches with Open Office

When Setup runs, what does it try to install? (What does it say in the window)

All of these three apps (Microsoft Office, LibreOffice, and Open Office) freeze immediately after opening any file such as .docx, .doc, etc through them.
The problems with all the three apps started at the same time. I have reinstalled the apps several times, but that didn't solve anything.
There is no antivirus except Windows 10' Defender.
Please help. I am going crazy here.
I've Windows 10 home edition. It is updated.

Answer:Microsoft Office, Open Office, LibreOffice - all three apps freezing!!

Does the same happen if you try this in Safe Mode?

Have you changed your page file settings from default?

Do you have a system restore point or disk images (which we strongly and repeatedly recommend using) you can use to return to a point before this problem started?

Anyone migrated their business from Microsoft Office to Open Office?

Thinking about doing it as a way to cut back on costs. Currently we are using variety of office versions right now (2007, 2003, & 2000) It would cost a small fortune to get everyone on the same version.

Just looking for some feedback, share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks.

Answer:Anyone migrated their business from Microsoft Office to Open Office?

I don't run any company or enterprise, but it's been several years I'm happily using open office, it's 3 times smaller than MS and to me much easier to use. I think the functions and features and interface are pretty well organized. And for that all, it's freeware.

Installed on my PC I have an old copy of Microsoft Office 2000. I use Word for my documents and made a spreadsheet on Excel for a game I play, other than that I have I have no knowledge of using the other features of this suite such as Access, Outlook or Powerpoint.

While downloading the latest Java update I noticed an ad for a freeware program called OpenOffice.org and after Googling it found that as far as I can see it is the same sort of thing as the Office 2000 suite only newer and probably more modern.

My question is, would the Open Office.org program be better than my outdated Office 2000 Suite and would I still be able to read my word documents etc using this program or would I have to keep Office 2000 as well.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice offered.

Answer:Open Office.org V Microsoft Office Question?.

Hello bluesjunior,Yes, you will be able to open your word documents with OpenOffice. I use OpenOffice myself. You may wish to read through the following thread. While the initial post doesn't mention OpenOffice, the rest of the thread is entirely about OpenOffice. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/58782/anyone-tried-the-ms-office-2006/ The thread also contains a link to the Open Office site.Orange Blossom

:wave If I have, and LOVE Open Office :drool, but run in to the occasional file that I can't open with it, not the new .xdoc or anything, but for instance, a friend of mine sent me a .doc that I couldn't open with OOrg, can they coexist on a machine? Can I still use OOrg for everything, and MSO for things that get emailed to me?

I am guessing I can, and this new CD is licensed for 3 machines, so I might use it on mine, if it's not going to mess up OOrg..

Thanks guys!

Both windows XP Machines.. my signature refers to a machine I have at home. lol

Answer:Open Office & Microsoft Office (2007)

Yes, you can run OOorg and MS Office on the same PC. You may run into occasional problems when the PC can't decide which program to use to open a certain document, but this is easily solved by right clicking on the document, and selecting Open With and then selecting the program you want to open it with.

Who uses "Open Office"?

I see that you can type a document in Open Office and open it in Word -- Can you open Word .doc in Open Office?

Can you take a document from Open Office and create a .pdf file?

I did a search on this forum and found this - someone had a question about their MS license. That's what I'm working on for buying new licenses at work on new pcs.

But you can or could install OpenOffice.org For Windows 2.1.0 while its not MS Office, it has the majority if not all the functionality of MS Office and will save and open files from Office fine.... the best part is its FREE.Click to expand...

I have... haven't recently as the release I tried was buggy as heck. Newer releases are much better from what I've heard, but I can't confirm.

Yes, you can, IIRC. This is what attracted me to it in the first place!

Yes, if the application doesn't do it natively, PDF creation apps that we were discussing earlier (PDF Creator comes to mind) should allow you to create the PDFs... not sure about some that were mentioned, but this app installs a printer that you can use from any application to "print" into a PDF file.

I installed Office 2000 on this machine several months ago, and Outlook has run without any odd behaviour.

It also happens any time I click on a new email.

Although I installed iTunes 2 days ago, today is the first time Outlook has behaved in this way.

On my computer I have Student Home and Office from Microsoft, and a week ago I download Open Office to see what it was all about as I had been recommending it to other people who didn't want to fork over "the big bucks" for Microsoft Office.  The problem I am having is that if I open a .docx file or an .xl file from My Computer, the file will open in Open Office and not in Microsoft.  If I open the files directly from Word or Excel, no problem.  How do I keep Open Office from assuming I want to open a Word or Excel file in Open Office?  Thank you

Ohotfix.exe is a software program designed to help administrators deploy update files within their organizations. OHotFix works by reading a series of deployment instructions contained in an INI file, and then using those instructions to apply an update to the computer. OHotFix can also check applications on the computer to determine which updates need to be applied, and it can order a group of update files so that an installation is optimized.

We currently use Office 2007 and Office 2010 on our about 20 workstations. I'm looking to move to MS office 365 for hosted exchange. I found out that as of the first of this year, Microsoft no longer support Outlook 2007 or 2010 for hosted exchange. It seems to be working just fine so far at another site I'm involved with. The issue is that if you ever contact support, they will blame the version of Outlook you're on. So, I'm looking at options for upgrading.

Do you guys that are on office 365 for email using the premium version that includes the office subscription or buy Office 2016?

For the most part, we just need outlook, word and excel. We do have 6 people that will need powerpoint also.

Just looking for a recommendation from you guys on what makes the most sense.

Thanks!

We have it on 2 of the 3 computers we have and it doesn't seem to be compatible with Word as it is said to be. When my daughter attaches her assignments to her professor it doesn't work.

It is on a refurbished Dell ( XP PRO Interl® Celeron® CPU: 2.40 GHZ, 2.39Ghz, RAM: 504 MB).

What might I try to get these programs to sync?

Thanks so much!

Answer:compatibility of "open office" suite and Microsoft Office Suite?

Hello alpad,

When she saves the document to send to the professor, which format is she saving it in? If she saves it as the default .odt, Word won't be able to open it. In the small window by "Save as Type" she needs to click the arrow to cause the drop down menu to come up, then select the proper Word version to save it as. My version of Open Office has the following MS Word options:

MS Word 97/2000/XP (.doc)
MS Word 95 (.doc)
MS Word 6.0 (.doc)

There is also an XML version. The latest version of Open Office, version 3, is also compatible with MS Word 2007; however, I don't know how that appears in the drop down menu as I don't yet have that version of Open Office.

Once she has chosen the proper Word format, then she needs to save the document. This is the version she should submit to the professor.

Hi,
Thank you in advance.

The problem:
As of this a.m., I can't open any MS Office applications, nor Frontpage, nor Publisher, nor Homesite 5. I cannot even find any Office Aps in a search using Windows Explorer. This is a crisis in my young life. I can open IE, and it seems works for the Internet and downloads. Yesterday all was well.

And, at the same time, a Windows Installer dialogue box keeps opening, saying it wants to install MS Publisher 2000 and for us to put in the CD. When I try to open Word or Frontpage, the installer dialogue opens and says it is configuring XP and then we cancel it. It takes several tries to cancel it. It has opened several times while writing this post.

What we're using:

We have and regularly use the latest Norton AV sw, Spybot, AdAware, CCleaner. I added and ran IE-adspy this a.m. (after problem occurred), and I downloaded the lastest XP update, a verification tool. I tried to do the Panda scan this a.m., before writing, but it would not function. Nothing happened when I clicked the Scan PC button. I had allowed pop-ups and turned off the active security in order to do the scan.

Before writing this we did a system restore to yesterday and a full Norton's scan. The restore was ineffective and the scan showed nothing wrong.

I understand that if a user installs Open Office on a machine with conventional Office 97-2003 that Open Office will use its own suite of products for each application. (Unless the user ops to use Office to open the applications by unchecking the corresponding application boxes during Open Office's installation.) But if a user chooses Open Office as the default for applications on a system that also has Office 2007 on it, how does Open Office deal with this if the OO applications remain checked as the default?

Does the current version of OO even understand how to DEAL with the new Office 2007? I understand that OO can not read docx documents, which is the default for Word 2007, (although this can be easily changed back to doc.) I found out that Open Office 3.0, scheduled for release this fall, will be able to read docx documents. What's so great about docx docs anyway?

Using my example, assume this situation on a new Windows Vista machine. (fresh installs of each program or Office 2007 OEM (factory installed.) What behavior would be expected here?

Ok, so i want everyones impressions on the various Office Suites.

I personally if i had hte money would go for the Microsoft Office Pro series. I for one, think MS Word is one of the most refined word processing applications avalible. And coming a very close second is Open Office. I find my self having many problems trying to do somthing in Word, or Word crashing, so i switch over to my trusty free Open Office.

As for Corel and WordPerfect, my experiance is that it is way over priced, and is basically on the level of "word pad".

I am attempting to have the company i work for tranition from MS Office to Open Office, but just for a control i thought i might throw in Corel.

So what are your guy's and gal's thoughts on the various office apps?

Answer:MS Office vs. Open Office vs. Corel WordPerfect Office

Openoffice is an extemely close second to MS-office and that is for one thing

Calc's graphing wizzard: It is horrendous. As an engineer I need to admend graphas add new plots... and it is soo hard with openoffice

There is suppose to be a more MS-wizzard with OO-2.1 so until then Openofffice is 2nd
When the new wizzard is shipped it takes first place very quickly and by a signifcant margin

Something went wrong. We couldn't start your program. Please try starting it again. If it won't start, try repairing Office from 'Programs and Features' in the Control Panel.

When I try to change or uninstall in control panel nothing happens. I noticed as it's listed in the control panel programs it says it was installed 5/30/2016 and the file size is blank. This is office 2013 so I've had it for a few years and it just started this yesterday.

Also, when I try to open an existing document an additional error message pops up that says, There was a problem sending the command to the program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think anything has changed on my computer over the last few days, except a couple of windows updates.

Answer:Microsoft office won't open.

If you have the installation media for Office 2013 you could uninstall it and re-install it - this will not affect your documents and other work as they are not stored along with the program files.

Alternatively, if this problem started recently, you could try restoring Windows to a time before this problem started and see if that fixes the problem.

well my cousin convinced my mom that she needed microsoft access so he brings over microsoft office 2000 and installs it... including everything im pretty sure, i wasnt here when it happened. but he installed word outlook excel powerpoint and access, but we already have the 2003 version of everything except access. and now the old microsoft outlook (2000) has taken over all email rights, as in the links from start menu and internet explorer. So is there a way to get rid of all of microsoft office 2000 except for access? Because when i tried uninstalling microsoft office 2000 it said are you sure you want to uninstall all components? so i wasnt sure so i clicked cancel, well hopefully that made sense, and please help!

Ugh!!!!!!!!
This is driving me MAD!

I installed Blaze media Pro 7.1 and now each time I open the program Windows Installer launches. Actually it goes like this:

I click on the shortcut for Blaze Media Pro 7.1 and after several seconds of nothing happening a progress box opens indicating that "TurboTax Its Deductible 2006" is installing with a message above the progress bar indicating "Please Wait While Windows Configures TurboTax Its Deductible 2006.

Then before that can complete another box appears which reads "Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5" with a progress bar and details about opening several .cab files then it switches back to the original "TurboTax Its Deductible 2006" is installing with the progress bar reading "gathering required information"

Then the "Windows Installer" box appears with a progress box.

I click on cancel and the process starts again and loops three or four times and ends with a box that indicates that "the feature you are trying to use is on a removable CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available" and offers a search box to find it. I cancel that and get an Error 1706 No Valid source could be found...Windows Installer cannot continue, click OK and the process starts again.

Eventually if I hit cancel enough all the boxes go away and the program starts as it should.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:Windows Installer launches when I open a program

Fixed it

I downloaded Windows Install Clean Up and removed the files associated with the TurboTax program and no more problems.

Thanks for all previous advice. I have now re-installed windows, solved one problem but have another. The copy of windows xp used didn't have Microsoft Word (office). There is something on ebay claiming compatability with microsoft, called open office, almost too cheap to be free. Sellers do have good feedback, however, so advice please. I really need 'Word' and Microsoft is so expensive.

Hi All of a sudden microsoft word will not open properly. I get the page with the hourglass but it doesn't open to a fresh page for typing and I cannot open any of my documents either. I have tried system restore but didn't have a point far enough back for it to work. I have tried reinstalling from a disk I had from my old computer, but it doesn't work either.
I don't know why it would suddenly just stop working, it keeps telling me to report the problem, which I have done endlessly.
I am on XP using an admittedly old version of Word (2000) but it has always worked just fine before.
Can anyone help me with this please? Many thanks.

Thanks

Answer:Microsoft Office Open license

I'll usually contact one of my vendors and ask them what options I have available to me. They're always very helpful in this situation especially since licensing can bring them considerable dollars.

I installed Open Office but can only view individual documents by opening with Open Office. How do I run Open Office automatically? Do I uninstall Microsoft Office?

Hi Xander82, and welcome to TSG.

The following page on the Microsoft web site explains how to set default programs to open different file types in Windows 7.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-which-programs-windows-uses-by-default

If your current trial installation of MS-Office has expired and you do not wish to purchase it, then yes, you can uninstall it.

alright. so i tried to open my microsoft word 2007. first, it was coming up as a memory problem, saying it didn't have the memory or disk space to run it.
i have system mechanic six so i ran memory mechanic which did nothing.
i then tried opening my other Microsoft Office programs, and they wouldn't open either.

i tried uninstalling all of it completely, in the registry and all.
then i reinstalled it, only not as the full pack, as the home & student pack.

now, the hourglass shows for one or two seconds, and NOTHING pops up. not the program, or error signs, or anything.

i don't know what's wrong with it. i ran updates for everything today (spybot, windows updates, system mechanic & AVG), and it won't system restore back to fixing the problem either.

help, please? i need to edit my resume & write half a musical, and i can't do it without word!

oh. i have windows XP, and i have framework 3.0 service pack 1.
or so my add/remove programs says.

i will be totally grateful to whoever helps me with this.

Answer:Open Office/Microsoft Word

I imagine when you installed OO you answered a prompt in the affirmative to make it the default WP package.Have a look in the tools or options menu's of OO and see if there is a box you can un-tick.Or you could simply un-install OO then re-install it. If you get the same prompt answer No.

The quick and easy fix is probably to do a system restore. Pick a restore point that was created before the problem started.

After much messing around I have discovered that if you use Windows 7 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program' to set default programs for file types, it breaks the File Types selection within a given program (in my case Microsoft Office Picture Manager) and you are no longer able to use the program itself to set file types only the Windows 7 function. You can tick/untick file associations all day long within Microsoft Office Picture Manager and nothing gets associated/unassociated. The File Types option is basically broken. I have also noticed this occur with 7-zip which actually causes a more serious issue. By default .zip is not listed in the Windows 7 list of 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program' window but is listed if you associate .zip with 7-zip's own file association option. BUT if you then subsequently use windows 7 to re-associate .zip with Windows Explorer, the .zip vanishes (because by default is is not listed), breaks 7-zips file association options and you can no longer associate .zip files with 7-zip, EVER. Basically I am curious as to why Windows 7 own file association options would break software's own internal file association options so badly to the point they are essentially useless and if there is a fix. I even tried completely reinstalling Microsoft Office and removing all references of it within the registry, no luck. Its not a big deal but I just found it odd that a fundamental piece of Windows 7 would harm the integrit... Read more

Answer:Microsoft Office Picture Manager - Office 07 - Broken File Types

I don't believe it has anything to do with Office 2007/ Picture manager I use it myself,
I do not use 7-Zip but that seems the likely bug,
Windows handles Zip folders just like any other folder so 7-Zip is something I don't understand why people need or want it but I don't need any or need to make any Zip folders either

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

Just bought a new laptop with Windows7 64bit installed-my first exposure to Windows7. I had Office 2007 installed on my old Dell 32 bit machine. I had also recently pruchased Office 2010 and installed that on my new machine.

Now, when I try to open those 32bit 2007 files with 64bt 2011, Iget an error message that "no picture file is available", or words to that effect. When I try to "open with", the only option displayed is "Microsoft Office" with an icon that looks like a picture file. When I try to browse to the proper office program(Excel, for example), there are none of teh Office suite programs displayed, only "Microsoft Office".

I can navigate seperately to the proper progran, Excel, etc., and drag the file into the application, and it opens, and all seems to work OK. I "save as" the proper application file, but it still will not open with double-click on the file name.

I have not seen this particular item in the forums and would appreciate very much some help in fixing this issue.

Thanks,

Grubby

Hi,

I have a 2003 SBS machine and have various clients connected through exchange to get mail. Users typically leave outlook running the whole day while they work on programs such as access/excel.

I have noticed that on some machines excel and word docs open very quickly over the network until outlook is left open and connected to exchanged. we are opening the files on a variety of win 2003 servers, however when they have their outlook exchange account connected I have seen the docs take anywhere from 3-5x the normal amount of time to open.

I have also noticed that opening email attachments such as xls and doc are also very slow while connected to exchange, but it seems to vary from file to file, some seem better than others.

does the connection to exchange complicate the process of opening docs on remote machines or does it sound like I have a misconfiguration somewhere? I would like to get the performance of opening a file (say a xls) on a network share to be the same as it is when outlook is not connected to exchange.

I do not have these PCs running in offline or cached mode as we have a shared calendar that does not display correctly when I enabled these features. Clients are running office 2003,2007,2010. Turning on cached mode does not seem to make much if any of a difference btw.

Thanks for any insight you may have

I recently installed the Microsoft Office 2010 Beta, but this morning its intro screen stays stuck at "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run." Googling it resulted in only two threads, neither of them having the answer.

I'm back to using Office 2007, by simply setting my Word and Excel documents to open by Office 2007 by default, but now my Word and Excel icons have become much less pretty, such as my Word icons becoming a very plain "DOCX" icon instead of the normal "blue W" icon. I checked, and the file types are still regular Word documents. Is there a way to get the pretty icons back?

Answer:Office 2010 Problems: "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" & Unattractive DOCX icons for Word documents.

Regarding changing the icon:
Go to either My Computer or Windows Explorer.
Click Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab.
Scroll down to the DOCX file type (file types are in alphabetical order), click on it one time to highlight it.
Click the Advanced button.
The "Edit File Type" screen appears.
There is a Change Icon button in the top right area.
Click the Change Icon button.
You should have other icon choices to pick from.
Side note: If you don't like any of those icons, you can always hit the Browse button,
and browse to where other icons are, (you can assign any icon to any file type that you want, it is a matter of personal preference).
Icons are found in .exe files (executables), some (not all) .dll (dynamic link library) files, and .ico files.

Forget the Disk, you can download Open Office/Libre Office, from the Net, for free. You always have been able to and, I guess, that if you paid for it, you were had.
However, as far as I know Open Office does what it says on the can. It doesn't have a version of Outlook but covers most of the other MS Office programs with slightly fewer add-ons. Most of us don't use, for example, all of Excel's facilities and Open's version is quite adequate for us.

I have been able to successfully transfer Word Documents from Microsoft Word 2003 to Open Office Docs without any problems but I am unable to transfer a Word Document in the opposite direction. I.e.: from Open to Microsoft Word 2003
Can anyone help please?

Answer:Solved: open office/microsoft word

You got it save it as a Word Document in Open Office. If you opened it and then resaved it in Open Office it may have saved it as an Open Office file type instead of a Microsoft Word File Type. I know there is a way to make Open Office to default to saving as a Word Document. Just look thru the settings. So your first step to investigate is too see what file type OpenOffice is saving as by default.

None of the microsoft office applications (word, excel, powerpoint) will open a document from within the application. The application itself opens fine, everything seems to run fine and then when I go to save it freezes up completely. If I try to open a document from within the application it freezes immediatly also.

This morning I ran the Windows automatic updates and unistalled Corel Paintshop pro 7, Corel Photoshop and a couple old card games. I don't know though if the problem occured before or after these things.

My local computer guy told me to run the "Detect and Repair" feature in Word and it said everything was ok, but I'm still having the problem.

Please help!
Thanks

I have a Sony laptop PCG-Z1VA, XP home edition w/svc pak3. My Word program will not work. I have used the "Word" icon and have also opened the program folder and double clicked the "winword.exe" file and have come up with the same results. The window opens up and displays the "Word" icon at the top of the window along with the text "Document1 - Microsoft Word", but it is a blank page. I wait a few minutes and open the Windows Task Mgr and see where the "Word" program status is "not responding". I have uninstalled and reinstalled, have used the "repair" function of the installation program and have also reinstalled "Word" where the CD is required to open the program. I have the original CDs that I purchased and have been using this Office Suite for that many years without problems. All the other programs in the Suite are working. Can anyone out there help me.

When I open up a new Microsoft office document (microsoft office 2003) it opens just fine, in the past month or so opening saved documents .doc, or .xls has become painfully slow. Could this be malware or some type of infection? also the windows E shortcut is very slow to open explorer, but right clicking on start and then explore runs just fine.

System Info

windows XP
Professional
version 2002
Service pack 3

AMD Turion™ 64x2 Mobile
Technology TL-50
160 GHz 896 MB of RAM

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:microsoft office programs slow to open

Hi, it could be something such as malware, but it could also be something as simple as needing a defrag or more RAM. If you'd like to check for malware..Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it.Before saving any of your security programs, rename them first. For example, before you save Malwarebytes', rename it to something like MBblah.exe and then click on Save and save it to your desktop. Same thing after you install it. Before running it, rename the main executable file first

Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run.

If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files, right-click on mbam.exe and change the .exe as noted above. Then double-click on it to run..Another work around is by not using the mouse to install it, Just use the arrow keys, tab, and enter keys. Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the... I have a Dell Dimension 8200, running Office XP, and I use Microsoft Office Professional 2002. (I bought this computer in 2002)

I have been having a problem for several weeks, ever since I had a number of viruses and other bad things going on with my computer which have since been resolved.

I can't open documents that I had previously created with Microsoft Office. (Word and Excel) When I try to do so, I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says "requesting virus scan" and a timer comes up, but then nothing happens.

I have tried a number of things, including uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Office Professional, going to the Help Menu (Detect and Repair) when I open Excel or Word, and nothing works. I was having trouble even opening Word...it would only open in Safe mode every other time I tried to open it, until I read another helpful hint in this forum today about renaming normal.dot. I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with this problem as I am pulling my hair out.

I had someone come to help me clean out my computer when I was having all my problems several weeks ago, and he was not able to figure this one out, either.

Hello,

I'm having an issue with outlook whenever I try to open it, it says "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook." I'm not sure what the problem is, could anyone please help me.

I'm running Windows 7 32 bit.

Answer:I can't open Microsoft Office Outlook 2010.

See whether you can find All Programs > MS Office > Office Tools > Office Diagnostics. Run that and see what happens. I have only Office 2007, so I am not 100% certain whether that is the same setup for 2010.

For the past few days my laptop has been unable to open Microsoft Office apps. I'm using Windows 10 (which I came with the laptop) and Office 2016. It's been totally fine before hand, but now it's just not opening Word. There's not even an error message, it just stops. When I try to open Excel an error box pops up saying it can't establish a connection or something? It doesn't happen all the time, but for the majority of my attempts I am unable to work on these documents. I thinks its become more frequent too, though I may just be loosing my patience. Please help!
