Best check in/check out asset management software

Question: Best check in/check out asset management software

What is the best check -in check-out asset management software? A list of what's out there would be appreciated because I cant seem to find an authoritative one of what's best for asset management (game development). I hear Alien brain is good and there's one that starts with a 'p' that I can't remember the name of it to save my life... Alien brain is too expensive and hard to find. It's an open source project so I know the 'p' one would work because they offer open source licenses so if anyone knows what Im talking about feel free to enlighten me.

Something similar to Project but with asset management and check in/check out functionality would be great if anyone could suggest something. A step beyond that would be real time preview of maya scenes, psds, and xsi files. But maybe I want too much with the latter...

edit: Oh and it doesn't have to be free, Im just curious as to what's out there...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My company is currently in the market for assett management software. Something to manage hardware as well as software licensing. We would like the product to be able to pickup any devices connected to the network on its own. If not we are willing to put a client on each of our devices. Any products or references would be a big help. Thanks BC!

Does anyone have any recommendations on an Asset Management Software. I am looking for something that will allow me to assign workstations and equipment to employees, read bar codes, create custom reports, etc. I don't necessarily need it to auto-discover all items on my network. I am looking to see what others are using out there and if they like it or not.

Looking for something that I can put barcodes on all our equipment and have it in a database. Then when a tech arrives, they can take a picture of the barcode with their smartphone (iOS and Android both) and bring up the asset details. Then they can edit asset details directly on their phone such as what they did to it, etc. This way there is no paperwork and can close the case out right there and then.

Thanks!

Just till now, we're using OCSNG together with GLPI, but because of some problems that don't seem to being changed and lack of some features, we started our search for a new helpdesk/asset management software. We don't mind to go for a paying version, but it needs to be able to change the language (dutch and french). Does somebody has some good ideas our experiences with some software?

Not sure about the language side of things but take a look at Lansweepr and see if that helps? - Network Inventory - Software Inventory Management for Windows Networks

They were developing a Helpdesk platform to gone with it, not sure if they did that or not, we bought it for asset management reasons.

* Positive/negative experiences what you liked, what you didn't like, issues you encountered, etc.
* General price range ballpark
* Any other thoughts/comments

Additionally, if you have experience with any other asset management solutions, feel free to comment. - Thanks!

Where I work we have recently implemented Request Tracker to track service requests. What we need now is an Open Source asset management solution, or at least a relatively inexpensive solution. Our goal is mainly to keep track of information on the systems. We don't necessarily need to push software or get information from the workstations in real time, but we need to at least have a database where we can store that information even if manually entered.

Any suggestions?

Because my colours are not the same when printed ( using a Dell A.I.O. Printer) I have been advised to check my Colour Management on laptop.

I go into Control Panel and click onto colour management
There I see Generic PnP Monitor - - when I click on the drop-down menu at the side of this I find that my printer is listed.

What do I do next?

As stated in my other postings, I only know a teeny weeny bit about computer's so please if anyone is kind enough to reply , step by step instruction will be gratefully appreciated

I have a strange issue here at work and was thinking of a way around it.

If one was to log onto any 2003 server through remote management and use Server Manager into another server whether it's 2003 or 2008, it works fine. If I do it from 2008, it doesn't due to the policy of disabling Server Manager on the 2008 machines.

Does anyone have any experience with getting around this roadblock for the 2008 machines? In a year and half all 2003 servers will be obsolete and it'd be nice to have this tool around despite policy.

Which brings me to my second question.
Since I work in a very large company, we have tens of thousands of users whether internal or external and thousands of groups to manage it. Is there a way to check a group or user's access to specific servers across the network? I realize this may have been thought out by the network designers but I'm open to ideas to make my job easier.

My job capacity is that I'm a System Integrator and I do server management for my focals and external contractor teams if anyone needs that critical information. So basically I have complete access to all those servers within my realm of responsibility as long it's within policy ie Server Manager Management disabled. I can't install software that allows me to remote into those machines. The company is corporate and a fortune 500 so I can't go breaking copyright laws using trial personal software.

I'm being open minded here.

Kaseya is pretty awesome, it incorporates the following - I've been using at work for the past few years

http://www.kaseya.com/

Inventory -Software and hardware

Backups - server and workstations - Using acronis echo server

network wide scripts -reboot - install packages

restore - server and workstations

patch management - servers and workstations - you can use this to view dependancies and risk to particular patches

service desk/help desk ticketing

performance monitoring - email alerts

remote access to servers and workstations via rdp, vnc, dameware, pc anywhere agents

anti-virus management

incorporates AD - LDAP user management

- Does cost a pretty penny , but it's worth it - we manage about 1200 workstations with this with ease

Hi There,
I'm looking into digitizing and cataloging old dv tapes. I have several tapes to digitize and a mac pro with about 400GB free space.
I guess I'm looking for people who have done something similar and want to share their experience, the workflow they followed, software they used etc...

I'm pretty sure I will need to buy an extra Hard drive to fit all the material in and a cataloging software like catDV...
But I'm not sure if this hard drive needs to be internal, so all my videos are online at all time while I'm cataloging and keywording, choosing clips etc. Or is it better for it to be external, kept somewhere safe and only work with previews of my videos while I log and catalogue...

So please, share your experiences and suggestions on workflows and the best softwares for the job

Thank you

Situation: Right now an annual IT asset inventory (hardware only- systems, monitors, printers, etc.) is conducted by paper and pencil. That is then compared to last years records to make sure nothing grew legs.

Desired Setup: Bar codes attached to all tracked parts are scanned once a year and then downloaded into a simple application that can be used to compare inventory year to year. Probably would involve a bar-code reader attached to a PDA or other mobile device. Cost should be minimized and only simple analysis is needed.

Any suggestions?

Here is the solution
1-make sure turn on virtual platform on bios
2- from turn windows features on or off expand hyper-v and enable hyper-v platform (Must)
3- restart your machine it should be working without problem.

Hello,I am part of a three person graphic art studio. We have created thousands of digital art files. Our archive is now spread out on 100's of CD's.We would like to take the time to assign keywords to our images so that we can easily search the collection. Two of us work in a small studio and the third works from a different location and is involved in the marketing and licensing of the images. Would a server make sense? What's involved in setting up a server. Do we need a dedicated phone line for it? In calling up a server and accessing files similar to regular web speeds?Would be most grateful for any thoughts about how to go about this project. Or even what questions I should be asking.Thank you in advance.

The problem start with my wife's PC. It started a few weeks ago she told me. She can't open Outlook Express (doesn't start), access My Space or get updates at Windows Update. Also some images on sites do not load.

I then checked my PC and found, I couldn't access Windows Update, My Space, Thunderbird fails to retrieve emails. I have not noticed any issues with images.

Given this sounded like some of the behaviors I have heard of trojans doing I thought I would post my logs here and see if anyone sees anything out of place. Normally I wouldn't consider a cross contamination but about two weeks I temporarily set up a home network between our PCs to share a few files. The next day I disabled NetBIOS on my PC but as we are both behind a hardware firewall, I guessing if it happened it must have happened then.

Nothing jumps out at me but I wanted to get a second opinion.

Any help would be appreciated.

Due to this i have to power off the system from main power button by holding for few seconds. Now i was getting hang problem. I saw in task manager that DISK UTILIZATION was 100%. Answer:Hard Drive Short DST Check : WARNING and Optimized DST Check...

Yes you need to replace the hard drive. Since you have upgraded to Windows 10 it is very easy to get recovery media directly from the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. For most people, the problem is not physically swapping out the hard drive, but restoring the operating system since they do not have recovery disks. Post back if you want a service manual and/or video showing the replacement, purchase options for a new hard drive and step-by-step for restoring Windows 10. We would need the full model...g6-????

Is verifying files by check sum / content after transferring (copying, moving) indeed unreliable?

Since "ever" I - if I checked files at all - checked files by content or check sum after transferring them, so this information sounds very astonishing to me now, I hadn't had any clue about what I read here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2012/09/19/10350645.aspx

Obviously meaning in many cases checking files by content / check sum checks the data in the buffer, if I see it right.

So, is it like that? Does it refer to all of the synchronizing / backup / copying, check sum, etc. programs?

And what is the best / easiest way to (automatically) check files after transferring. E.g. when copying all of the files of a 4TB drive to another one.

Answer:Verifying files by check sum / content after transferring unreliable - how to check?

Re: Verifying files by check sum / content after transferring unreliable - how to che

Kletus...

I'm not in my league with this, but could this make sense?

I think the article is referring to times when you are seeking to verify data across a network span between two systems (operating systems), where system b (copy destination) requests a checksum from system a (file original location). I believe the author is saying that in that particular situation checksums would be created from the cache/buffer on both computers. In the case of you copying to a secondary disk connected to a single computer I think the checksum should work fine. Sounds like one of those programmer's dilemmas to me.

Sorry if I am off on this. I know you are looking for some programming expertise. I'll just say that reading this, it made sense to me about the author's comments:

This really sounds like you're overthinking it.

First, what possible reason would there be for giving someone write access but not read access to a certain location? That's screwed up on so many different levels...

Second, you're right that having the sender compute a checksum of the destination file is a bad idea for all the reasons mentioned. But why did you even think of doing that in the first place?!? If I was implementing a system like that, I'd have the *destination* system compute the checksum on the file it received and send it back to the sender for verificati... Read more

My daughter called me and asked what was wrong with her monitor. She said that when she starts her computer she gets this message "Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working" and no other display...

kds x-flat monitor, onboard video, XP, AMD

She has unplugged and replugged the video cable several times... any ideas why this is?

Answer:Self check, check your PC and signal cable, monitor is working

That suggests that the computer is not booting, or if it is, there is no video output.

The monitor is simply saying "I am OK, but the computer isn't sending me anything"

A simple check to see if the computer is booting is to try the CAPS Lock key. Pressing it will toggle the CAP light on and off each press, if the PC is running.

I was wondering if there is software out there that will check your computer for security?I mean one that will check to see if you have any holes in your computer that would make it easy for any attack. If I install a FIrewall & Anti virus software should I be confident this is all I needed to do?What do you suggest?

Answer:Looking for Security Check Software

1) GOOD AV software  -- always resident and always updated2) Firewall optional. Windows has one built in and that's all I use combined with my router's NAT3) I'd suggest scanning occasionally with MalwareBytes and/or Super Antispyware4) I'd also suggest SpywareBlaster as a passive add-on (update it weekly)And of course, SMART COMPUTING

If your VGA card has its termal probe enabled (via the manufacturor's BIOS), you simply need to look in the nVidia control panel. There's a temperature section.

I'm using Geforce 6600,when I run with heavy applications,I don't know whether how much the temperature of VGA is?????everyone can show me software to check the temperature of VGA!!!thanks very much!!!!

Answer:which software to check temperature of VGA????

The 6600 cards to have a temp sensor in the chipset, but not all makers have enabled it. To tell if your 6600 has the sensor enabled:

Right-click on any open area on the desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, geForce 6600, Temperature Settings.

If you don't have the "temp settings" option, then your card's sensor is not enabled. The only way (that I know of) to enable it would be to modify your card's bios.

ok, i'm looking for spell check software that is not a freebie, freeware has to much trash with it (toolbars ect)and I want nothing to do with any of that. it must be something I have to pay or. and it must not work like the spell check in windows 8. I don't want something that is an auto spell check, I want something that works like the spell check in windows XP outlook express. where it was manual, giving me several options to choose from. if I can control it I can correct the spelling on everything, not just email, but if I want to post a message on a website like a yahoo group.
I already had to find a calendar that is much better than this on and allows for setting reminders every 2 days, 3 days, 12 days, and so on. but it cost me $50.00.

Answer:spell check software

Spell check works fine when I post in this forum, it's not auto correcting and gives me the option to choose the word(see attachment) I don't understand why you want to pay for something when it's offered free for you.

I'm having a problem with the lodging software we use at my hotel. The problem is that we are going through an area code issue in where you now have to dial out the area code even if your calling your next door neighboor in the same are code.

The problem is that when customers dial out from their rooms to people in the same area code the get charged the long distance rate because they now have to dial out the 10 digits. I am guessing that the software determines that it is a long distance call because the digits dialed are more than 7 digits.

Has anyone ever worked with Check-Inn software or any type of lodging software that could give me some tips????

We have a bunch of software that's licensed on a per seat of floating license levels and we need to be able to store where we bought it, who the vendor contact is, how much it was, what our entitlement is, how much the annual renewal is, when it's time to renew, and most importantly we also need to be able to include the install media (disk image or installer), as well as the license server install, any license files, and any other documentation that goes along with it.

Any of you aware of any software that does keep track of this stuff but doesn't cost an arm and a leg? We have maybe ~50 different licenses we need to keep track of so this isn't some large enterprise operation.

I know some ERPs that have that ability, although you'd have to first acquire the ERP, then get that app. Otherwise, just make an excel sheet and put all that stuff in

Although we have moved mostly into the 21st century, we do occasionally need to print checks. For that purpose, I had been using VersaCheck 2007. The nice features of this program are a) that you do not need preprinted checks, and b) it works with both Quicken and QuickBooks.

Needless to say, this program does not work under Windows 7 x64. I tried to install it using XP Mode, but that installation failed as well.

The publisher, G7 Productivity Systems, has a new version, but... With the new version, you have to pay a per-check fee if you do not buy the blank paper from them. (And they will get sued for this as there is no mention of this on the outside of the box...) Anyway, I will not do business with them - I am not going to pay, again, for the check paper I have.

I found several other solutions, but all are crazy expensive. One of them seemed reasonable, $20, but for Quicken only. The version that can deal with QuickBooks is $80 (and the only difference between them is the line of code in the cheaper version to block input from QuickBooks).

So, my questions, after this long-winded drivel are this:
Can you suggest some means by which I can get my current software working? I do have an XP server on my network and installed the software on that machine. As you would expect, the software creates a virtual printer device which I shared. However, I could not install that printer on the Windows 7 machine as the drivers are not available.
Failing #1, can you recommend a softwa... Read more

Hi GRoston, did you try in compatibility mode or in a XP virtual machine? I don't have much hope that it would work on a virtual machine (I had a similar problem with a scanner) but it might be worth a try.

Also, have you tried installing only the drivers in compatibility mode?

Hi,

I may have some type of monitoring software on my computer which was installed without my knowledge and permission. It may be by someone in my household if this is the case. How can I ensure that this is not the case without overwriting the HD and reinstalling Windows?

Also, I am using:

Kaspersky Pure 3.0
Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware (Free)

They all have come up clean, and I ran full scans w/ all of these.

Troubleshooting steps so far:
Completed a full scan w/ Pure and MBAM. No results.
Checked router interface and it showed no signs of emailing logs, etc.....

System Specs:
Windows 7 Pro x86 2GB RAM
AV: Kaspersky PURE 3.0

Answer:How to check my computer for monitoring software?

Keylogging, surveillance and monitoring programs can have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user, business IT tech or administrator has knowingly installed them. Even a parent may use a keylogging program to record their children's online activities or a suspicious spouse might install one to keep track of their partner.Since keylogging and monitoring programs can have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user has knowingly installed them, there can be potential legal ramifications when assisting someone with installing or removing these types of programs. Even a recommendation could be construed as a gray area some attorneys would not hesitate to explore in order to seek successful litigation. As such, most security forums will hesitate to get involved especially if the situation involves an employee/employer or domestic partner/parent dispute. Our response is not intended to imply that any specific situation invokes legal concerns, but merely that it is impossible for us to make the determination as to the computer's ownership and who has what authority in any given situation. If you do not own the computer, the first thing to do is to speak with the owner. If the computer is yours, you should speak with the person you suspect may have installed the program. In either case, a simple Google search should yield the information you seek without jeopardizing a staff member of an Internet community help site. If you suspect a spouse or ex-spouse/partner a... I'm super spooked out. I did 2 full scans with MalwareBytes and Avast, and both of them found absolutely nothing. I was super relieved, but just decided to do another extra scan with BitDefender to see if I missed anything. Surprisingly, BitDefender found 393 infected files on my computer.

These outcomes did not occur before prior to me downloading a few malicious files from some somewhat untrustworthy people. I'm worried that I might be keylogged or ratted. Could you please check my logs for me and see if there's anything malicious on my system? I can't believe MalwareBytes and Avast missed 393 files.

I have a vague memory of using a free utility on my XP machine that listed all my software and whether the version was up-to-date and whether being behind presented any security issues. It produced a report that spelled it all out in simple terms for me. I think it also had links to the appropriate software vendor in order to get the latest updates, and a place to provide feedback if I had an application in use that wasn't in their database. I don't remember if this was something that I downloaded, or if it ran from their website.

Does anyone know what this might be, and whether it will work on Vista? I've got a new HP with Vista Home Premium, and I'm trying to set up some good utilities for myself to keep up on this type of thing.

I just used the Belarc System Management tool, and found additional "poo" that was preloaded, even though I'd gone through my PROGRAMS list and deleted all the AOL, EARTHLINK, etc., stuff that I could find. grrr. This was a good tool, and it listed the versions on a lot of things, but I'd have to go to all the vendors to check the latest versions, something I believe this other utility did.

Can anyone help out my "mature memory" on this?

Thanks

Greetings,
I have a couple of sata hard drives that I connect to my desktop via a usb caddy.
It has been a while since I have used them - I think one of them stopped being readable. Did not appear in ' My Computer'
I will soon be opening up the desktop to change the PSU and stuff.
I thought I should connect them internally to see how they measure up.
I'm after suggestions for software, preferably freeware that will check them and perhaps repair any errors.

The desktop currently runs XP but might soon be running Windows 10.

Many thanks,

Hi,

Is there any software which allows you to test if the Product Key will work with the Windows Installation CD before going through the entire method of installing.

Thanks

Answer:Software which to check Product Key with Windows CD

There is no authorized tool available to check whether a particular key is valid or genuine prior to the install, you need to install win7 then input the key, then activate and validate online. And if you are thinking of keygens, forget it- its not possible.

If your product key has come from a legit source, that question should not arise.

Is there such a thing as software (from a reliable source, of course) that will check the DLLs on a user's machine against some master list, and give a user some indication of whether his machine contains any bad DLLs? (e.g. a listing of all DLLs whose dates or lengths (or contents?) do not match a master list? )

Answer:[SOLVED] Software to check DLLs?

I am not aware of such software and very much doubt it exists. While theoretically possible the practical difficulties would be enormous. One problem is that there are vast numbers of DLL's currently in use with more coming out all the time. The fact that many of these have multiple versions further compounds the problem. Thus any list of "good" DLLs would of necessity be out of date the day it was released. Most computers would have DLLs not on the list.

Anti-malware software doesn't work that way.

I searched for this but couldn't find anything, sorry if this question is repetitious. I have an HP Pavilion Slimline desktop running Win7 Pro. As a rule I don't use the HP Support Assistant, but I did let it run its monthly hardware check, and it's already identified a failing hard drive once, so the check is useful. However, recently HP updated the thing and the new version simply Will Not Run. Shortly after I bought the PC, a failed upgrade process for HP Support Assistant kept me from using the printer scanner for several months while I sorted out a peculiar error in HP's install sequence; and I just wasn't about to do their debugging for them again. So after it went into an "I've hit an error and need to close" loop, I uninstalled it, and I'm now looking for another tool that will do that "all-in-one" health check on disk, memory, etc. Any suggestions, preferably but not necessarily free?

Answer:Can anyone recommend health check software for Win7

The OEM software utility was designed to be a hardware/software monitoring checker intended for the particular model. There is not one that can replace their complete setup. What you need are tools usually found on the hardware manufacturing site for hard drives, memtest+ for RAMS, stresstest softwares for CPU/GPU, etc. which are individually downloadable and created either by CD/USB or can be run within Windows environment.

UPS won't help because they say it's a MS issue. I have full permission control over the folder and computer as an administrator. Win7 Pro is my OS. Can anyone recommend a place to start?

Answer:Check access permissions when installing new software

Hello Sirlordford, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Right click on the UPS program installation file, and click on Run as administrator to see if it may be able to finish installing afterwards.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Guys,

I have been running and using Win 7 since about Jan 10'. I am a heavy user and have installed and deleted many programs. It has been some time since I cleaned, error checked and defragged. And, since I have installed Ubuntu next to windows windows defragger has had a tough time with it, so I thought I would install a defragger. I added disk defrag by auslogics, tried to do a error check but it would not let me due to recently installed software. I got an error check to run in safe mode with no errors. Deleted a few programs I thought might be the problem (axcrypt and xbmc player) still nothing. I get no viruses with scaan from malaware bytes or my avg.

Does anyone know of ANY programs that might interfere with the error check? or that are known for causing this problem. I do not want to have to delete programs till I find the one that is the problem.

Not sure if this is related but I have unistalled foxy tunes for firefox many times yet it still appears in the unnistall list.

thanks

Answer:Can't Error Check b/c of recently installed software.

Hello,Besides foxytunes is there any other programs that left things behind? If so reinstall the program(s) down load Revo uninstaller http://majorgeeks.com/Revo_Uninstaller_d5706.html install it, run it, and then uninstall all the programs you want off or left stuff behind. while you are running the uninstaller if you are asked if you want to restart your computer say no and then select all the stuff left behind and delete it. then try to error check again.Let me know if that works

I am very new to VB scripts, but am needing one that will when executed 1st check to see if a program is installed, if it is skip the install path for the program (let's call it program 1) and then check program2, if it is installed skip the install for program 2.

Then the flip side, check program 1, if it is not installed install it (the install would be coming from a network drive that the user would have access to) then check program 2 and so on and so forth.

Answer:Solved: VBScript to Check/Install Software

I have discovered here....http://www.codescript.co.uk/unattended_application_installation.htm that the commands for an unattended install may be quiet difficult (if possible at all!).

Can one of the smarters on here provide the code for checking if the app is installed?

I have a friend who is unsure if his AV software is working properly. I seem to remember a short time ago - within the last two years - a website address from which it was possible to download a very small file which could be used to simulate a virus attack. I think it was from a European organisation - perhaps based in Switzerland. The same file was also mentioned in a PC magazine - possibly PCA.ThanksDave

As co-owner of a small internet retail company, which is hosted on the Aabaco, formerly Yahoo ecommerce platform, we want to be assured that our website doesn't contain any malicious scripts or other problematic security issues. Which product would your members recommend to scan the pages for any malicious items? We did find one blog post that noted Scan my Server, Web Inspector, and Quttera, but would like a third party opinion of these. Does anyone have first-hand experience with any of these products?
Thank you!

Answer:Website/Check out Page Scanning Software

I am also curious what people suggest. Also, pay vs free options?

Hi,

my Satellite Pro 4200 got too hot and the harddisk got hit by that (scandisk stops at 84%, very slow data access). Is there any software from Toshiba available with which I can check the HD and get a diagnosis?

Thank you,
Ben

Answer:Satellite Pro 4200: Is Toshiba Software for HDD check available?

Hi Ben,

I'm not aware of any specific software from Toshiba, but you can always use the Microsoft CHKDSK utility to scan/repair your hard drive sectors. You can access this by right-clicking on the hard drive icon in My Computer -> Properties -> tools.

Hello, I am wondering if it's possible for me to have a check-up on my PC for any possible Malware infection. I currently do not have symptoms of any malware infection, but it's always nice to ensure that I have a clean PC and updated programs.
If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated.
If I posted this in the wrong section then I apologize, and let me know where to correctly post this.

Free easy 1 click check PC security software to know everything, I use.
XueTr anti-virus and antirootkit: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=fr&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http://www.xuetr.com/ - with NEW version v0.44 - you have 'Computer Examination' tab. After notch of 'Safe items won't be displayed', click on 'Generate examination report'. Then, afer 1 minute, you have in software window - detailled .txt report on all XueTr search possibilities (that are in all individual tabs), with MBR check at it's end. Daily use by me here .. I'm not paranoid, but cautious, wary ..

Radix (USEC Radix) v1.0.0.12: http://www.usec.at/rootkit.html - it has '1-click check' tab - with detailled check of all Radix searches .. and it shows after 30 seconds here 'No suspicious items were found' sentence in it's window (with details at the bottom of Radix). Perfect, no-brainer.

NVT NoVirusThanks Anti-Rootkit v1.2 (FREE EDITION): http://www.novirusthanks.org/product/novirusthanks-anti-rootkit/ - has 'Quick Report' first tab, and complete scan results in the window, after some seconds. Very cool.

Answer:Free Easy 1 click check PC security software

Well if you would just want to do a simple pc check then Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Hitman or SAS would be your best bet , these tools are designed mainly to clean an infected computer........ and even so there are some better alternatives on the market for cleaning a infected system :
Norton Power Eraser , TDSS Killer , OTL , Combofix , GMER ,The Avenger and so on.....
When do you use this tools ?
