Email received from address will not send to

Question: Email received from address will not send to

I get emails from individual regularly, and have been replying.
Now, I can get email from that address, but when I send I get "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Syntax error in arguments. Please check the message recipient "..........."@gmail.com. and try again."
I used copy, reply, but still this message.
Anyone with ideas on what this is and why?

Preferred Solution: Email received from address will not send to

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Email received from address will not send to

Try creating a new mail to that address and see if it sends.

I did notice that in your error message there is a period(.) after gmail.com
not sure if that is a typo but an extra period in the address would give an error.

I right click, get the drop down menu, click on "Email picture . . . " What I get is a message box with the following, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action." So when I go to defaults program control there are email programs listed. I installed gmail notifier thinking thhat would help but it did not.

So, I'm betting this is an easy fix and not worth the frustration. My intuition isn"t working today, please help!

Answer:Trying to send an image from a received email.

Download the image, save it to your computer...compose new email, attach image? Maybe I am missing something?

My friend has an iPhone (the 2G I think ... yeah super old) and when she sends a reply, I get a weird email address for her sender. It shows up as:

Code:
Q-2 zzqqzzzz122 Q1a2., E Q. Eye Qw

Answer:Weird email address received from email sent from an iPhone

From: "Q-2 zzqqzzzz122 Q1a2., E Q. Eye Qw "Click to expand...

I would guess that she created her gmail account on a desktop computer, and at some point was attempting to play a game in one window while the text she was generating was being entered into her gmail account profile name field.

Edit: removed the person's email address.

I apologize if this was covered in the body of another thread, I couldn't find it based on the subject lines.

My Trend Micro complete security suite was running at all times. I did not open any suspicious email (from unrecognized sender) and avoided all forwarded email. I have no idea where this malware originated. I suspect a trojan horse of some kind. I hesitate to try free scans from other security software (like norton), because these companies are notorious for putting code onto computers that is extremely difficult to remove and can interfere with installation of a different security program.

I need to fix this fast and apologize to everyone on my contact list (whew, that's going to be a big deal, unless there's some way to send a bulk email without revealing everyone's email address without adding each contact individually and using Bcc.

Please help, I ran a deep Trend Micro scan that came up empty. I've trusted Tech Guys for years, this is the big one...

I have already changed my password and security question at gmail. I am running Microsoft's malicious software tool right now.

Email I sent to my address not received. I sent the email from MS Outlook 2007 to two main recipients and added a copy to my alternative address and also requested Delivery Notification and Read Receipt. The email registered in the Sent Folder. I got no feedback and the email did not arrive at my other address either. I repeated this and got the same response. The sent email seems to just disappear into cyberspace. What could be the problem.

Check the junk mail folder at your ISP - if you log into the webmail page (BT Yahoo is a good example) you may find they have their own spam/junk mail filter system and the email(s) may be sitting in there."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Pink Floyd

I am unable to send attachments from my work email account to my home email. This seems to be from my email specifically as other users in the company can send emails with attachments to my home account with no problem.  Both email accounts are using Microsoft Outlook. When I send an email from my work account to my home account there is no attachment but the email text is there. Also, the size of the email in my home account is the same as the size of the attachment, even though the attachment is not there, e.g. if I send an email from work that has a 3Mb attachment, the email that I receive at home is 3Mb but with no attachment. If I send an attachment to anyone else's email address they receive it as normal.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Answer:Attachments not received from one email address only

Some/most workplaces block this ability on their workstations....check with the IT dept.

Hi guys, not sure where to post this so thought here will do.I just received an email about a security code for a random e-mail account I have never heard of.I'm trying to figure out how I could have ended up getting this e-mail and if this means I need to change my passwords. I got the below e-mail (Redacted some details)"Thanks for helping us verify the Microsoft account [email protected] is your code: XXXXXThis is a verification code, not a password. If you didn't request this code, someone else may know the password for [email protected] and have access to that account. Click here to change your password. Thanks,The Microsoft account team"The thing is, I don't recognize the email address its talking about and I'm worried if there is a possibility that someone is perhaps trying some kind of back door to get into my account. Given my hotmail account now ties in with my computer(On Win8), there is the potential someone could lock me out of my computers.Strangely, today I also received a notification from Steam to verify what e-mail account I use.So a little bit concerned at the moment. I moved my steam account to G-mail which I have already set up with 2 factor authentication, so that is nice and secure. But still worried about this email.Do I need to worry about this, Any advice as to what I could do to improve security for my Microsoft account?Mattwizz3

Hi

An organisation I'm in received an unsolicitied email from a media company which looks like a circular, asking the user to check out their videos etc.

The strange thing is, the email's "To" field contains a name that has not been publicly associated with the organisation - in fact, the user it is addressed to doesn't use the internet, and hasn't got an email address, and never has had one.

My question is, how would this work? Did the sender have to fill out the name manually into the "To" field? Or is there any other explanation?

The email address that received the email is hushmail.

Thanks!

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

When I got BellSouth DSL years ago I had Outlook email account set up with BellSouth as outgoing and old domain as incoming so I could keep my email address from another domain. It worked fine until a year or so ago I had to add another account just for BellSouth and that worked fine.

Within last few weeks emails from my email address (old domain) would not send. I've been through it with ATT tech several times to no avail.

It seems that ATT has trapped me out and does not want me to be able to keep my old email.

There's bound to be a way to set up my email accounts so my outgoing email from my other ISP provider will send through BellSouth without changing my very old and reliable email address.

Also, I recently have acquired my own domain name and I fear emails from that email address will suffer the same fate.

I hope this is not too long, but PLEASE HELP if you can.

Answer:Can't send email using different domain in email address BellSouth trapped me out...

If your BellSouth e-mail service is provided by Yahoo, then you probably need to go through a registration and authentication process for each e-mail address you want to send through a non BellSouth/Yahoo mail server. At least that is what I had to go through as an SBC/ATT DSL customer. They claim that they do the blocking to prevent from originating from users within their network.

In our village in Spain, we have a very dodgy wireless internet access system, run by a company called NijarNet that is very difficult to communicate with - partly a language problem and partly because their customer service is dreadful. I have 13 clients with accounts here (I'm a management agent), and I manage these for them - they are all either wifi or wimax which pick up the signal from various antennae in the area. One such client was having no problem until something called Spamcop blocked his emails. Since then, he is unable to send emails from his 02 account, although he can send from his gmail account with no problem. He can receive on both accounts. O2 says it's not their problem, but that I must talk to the provider (which I have tried to do but they deny it's their problem and can't/won't give any advice on what the problem might be). I reckon it's something fairly simple that I might be able to sort myself, maybe a setting on the router? Can you offer any advice? He's tried it on several different laptops, devices etc with no luck. Any advice would be gratefully received.

I am helping a friend with their computer mess. The husband uses Windows Live as his email client and the wife uses direct Road Runner.

They both use the same computer. When the husband tries to send email to his wife's email acct, she never receives it. Yet he can send emails to me and I am a Road Runner email address. So I know that his Windows Live is set up correctly.

His wife's email is working fine directly through Road Runner as she can send and receive emails.

SO... Seems to me the issue has something to do with using the same computer and he never signs out of Windows Live. (I personally use Outlook as I am a business and am not familiar with Windows Live)

He never gets any kind of Undeliverable mail message or anything.

Can anyone help me here. I'm am do back over to continue cleaning up some other issues with his system. And I'm not sure where to go from here.

Thank you in advance.

There is a program at work where I need to send an SMS to an email address. It responds with a code. This apparently works on Android and iOS. There doensn't appear to be any place to set an email gateway in the SMS settings.
Is there a syntax in the SMS address that would allow me to send the message (like 36345:[email protected]) ?Any work aorund?

Answer:How can you send an SMS to an email address?

Okay, I'm going to tell you. This is possible, but must be supported by your Wireless Carrier. It is not dependent on what type of phone or phone OS you have. It took some researching to learn this for you, which is why it took me a while.
Simply enter the email address as the recipient, instead of a phone number. That's all there is to it. Not all carriers support it, but I just tested it with my AT&T account and it works fine. Most major carriers support this.
When the email is received on the other end, it will have an email address that your wireless carrier has assigned to your mobile number. If you send it to your own email, you'll discover that, and be able to give that email to others in order to text you as well.
First, I recommend testing it by sending yourself an email from your phone's SMS. Good luck!

Set up a new Account in Outlook, basically identical to your existing Account but with the different email address and, if you want, a different name for yourself (e.g. Webmaster). When sending messages, you should then have the option to select which Account the message will be sent from.

Hi there

any decent programmers out there who can generate a script for me that does the following :

1) Get my IP address
2) send an email say every 30 mins (or user settable) to a FIXED email address - or even a text to a mobile phone.

The reason I want this is that services like no-Ip are going "PAY FOR" or you get some silly restrictions on the free stuff like re-register every few days or the IP address detection program runs every minute which is a nonsense --with Fibre connections to your ISP the IP address doesn't change much (if at all) while you are connected to the Internet - but only at boot.

That way I can access my home computer without needing to get a commercial domain etc -- on the LOCAL LAN the server has a fixed IP address so port forwarding isn't a problem for using things like RDP.

Please don't suggest TEAMVIEWER -- don't want or need it. My upload speed on ISP is perfectly good enough for me to be independent of this type of service.

Even if you run say an apache (LAMP / WAMP) server you will get access to it easily enough via its IP address of you know it.

Surprised some of the experienced coders out there haven't done this type of thing. Should be easy enough to issue a command to get your external IP address (Router gives you that without even needing Internet access from the HOST) , push the output say to a notepad file and then send email with the notepad attachment.

I'm not a coder --I know what to do --but not how... Read more

Whenever I go into the Address Book to send an email and click on 'Send Mail' I get this message: Address Book - Main Identity The Address Book could not identify an e-mail client that it could invoke. The Address Book uses the simple MAPI protocol to send email. If your e-mail client provides an opton to let it handle simple MAPI calls, then turn on this option from the e-mail client and try again. How do I turn on this option. Please help.

Answer:Can't send email from my address book in OE

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4Is there a DWORD named UseOutlook and is its value set to 1?If so, you have Address Book configured to share contacts with Outlook, evenif you don't use it (can happen with the install of Office). Change thevalue to 0 (zero).

I have a video on my windows phone that I would like to forward to an email address. Is there an app for that? Or is there a simple way to do this?
thanks in advance. Jay

Answer:is there an app to send a video to an email address?

Yes, there is a way but that depends on what OS version your Windows Phone is running.
In Windows 10 Mobile, the default Outlook Mail is capable of sending videos through email - just make sure that the video size doesn't exceed 25MB.

Hi there

any decent programmers out there who can generate a script for me that does the following :

Read more

Answer:Script to get IP address and send email every so often

Give me some time and I'll look into this today. I need to do some things first today.. like waking up.

I'll try it out in both VB.Net and AutoIt. I need to install .Net back on my PC and that will take an hour or so,.

When in the UK, I stay with friends & relations, most of whom have BT as an ISP. The one thing (as far as I know) that I can't do on their broadband with my laptop is send emails in the usual way, and I gather it's because I don't have a BT address.
I can send them via webmail (mail2web to be exact), so it's no big deal in the general scheme of things, but it's fiddly. I can't reply directly to downloaded messages, have to type/paste in the recipient's address, etc, which feels disproportionately annoying. Does anyone know a neater workaround?
In case it makes any difference it's a Packard Bell Easynote BU45, Vista home Premium SP2, Thunderbird (up-to-date most of the time); no difference with Windows Mail. And mobile broadband wouldn't be worth the expense (especially with no 3G coverage at home).

Answer:Any way to send email from non-BT address via a BT acoount?

Try with a free Hotmail address.

With the new W10 email client, either with my main account or a second Outlook account, it always picks a random alias for the 'From' address when creating a new email. In the web mail settings I have each account set to send from its primary address and W8 PCs Windows mail clients have an option to choose the used email address.
Where is the setting in W10 and how do I get this under control? This can't be an issue for most as the forums would be full of it. What am I messing up here? The email app is currently useless to me, which is a shame.
Can you advise?

While this is a duplicate, rest assured, I have Not solved it and should remain open until.

I have also asked another programmer with a GMail account, and he too has the same problems. He can't see how to Send As. The Help forums and the screen shots differ to that which is currently in the GMail functionality.
As a sister thread to another thread here, I am having problems configuring GMail to appear as though my emails come from a POP-only email address.

Not something that has Ever caused me problems with other SMTP providers in the past, and even more infuriating since the web seems to be full of advice as to how to easily do this.

The problem is, all other threads, and GMail threads as well, instruct to do this in a way that the Settings page no longer allows.

In essence, I need to Send As, as well as Reply To my Red Sea email address. The instructions on the Help pages all seem straight forward. But, when going into the Settings>Accounts and Import>Send Email as>Add another email address, contrary to the Help, it now asks me to input the SMTP settings for this Red Sea address...!

All the Help pages make no reference to this. The Forums say all I need to do is click Send Verification, presumably to confirm my Send As address. Consequently, I cannot get past this page. If I had the SMTP addresses, there would be no need to Send As. I would just Send.

Can anyone help here? I have added a screen shot to show what I am faced with.

Recently (within the last week) I have received spam email from two separate accounts both of which belong to me. The spam was sent to myself and a couple others. One account is a hotmail account, another is a gmail account. Both accounts have had two-factor authentication enable since long before these spam emails. I have since changed both passwords (just to be sure) but I do not believe these emails are originating from my accounts, I believe my email addresses are being spoofed due to the following:

As stated above, both of my accounts are 2-factor authenticated and have been since long before these issues.

The spam email that was sent from my hotmail account shows as mailed-by: terra.com.br, *not* hotmail.com as it should.

The spam email that was sent from my gmail account shows *no* authentication information. There is no mailed-by information. Here is the source information, note all instances of my actual email address have been removed and replaced with [email protected] in order to avoid additional spam from crawlers:

Can it be done?

Here is the story. I live in the UK and there are now only two providers of internet service in my area. I am leaving soon and the Wannado only does long term contracts so I am stuck with AOL (I actually don't like their service). But I was able to just use their internet and bypass their software by changing some preferences in the Linksys system!!!

But I have an email adress that I want to check on Outlook. I don't think that AOL can do it but perhaps someone out there can help.... I cannot get a good SMTP that works to check another email address. Basically I want to use their SMTP server to send mail from my personal email account (not AOL)...

Any help out there?

I want to test a bunch of PHP applications on my test web server that send emails to various email addresses, and instead of them going to the different addresses I would like them to either go to a gmail account or to a plaintext file on the web server.

Does anyone know of a configuration or sendmail replacement that I could use to achieve this?
I am using Windows as the test web server's OS and using SMTP for PHP's mail() function currently.

Answer:Send all outgoing emails to text file or 1 email address?

If you want them to go to a gmail account you could just change the to address from the various addresses to the gmail address. If you're getting your various email addresses from a database or something just change the code that you're pulling the email addresses from.

If you want to output the message to a text file you would just have to use fwrite.

http://www.google.com/search?q=php+write+to+a+text+file

http://www.php.net/fwrite

http://www.tizag.com/phpT/filewrite.php

Posting code would be helpful.

Hello,

I have several email accounts configured on my windows mail on my Vista home premium and one of them is configured as the default email.

When I reply to emails received on email accounts other than the default email the "from" email address does not change to the email address of the received account.

I understand that the email address in the "from' field when I start a "new" message or create mail is that of the configured default email. My question is while replying to an email received in other configured accounts should not the "from" field email id change from the default email id to the email address of the email to which is replied.

hope I have been able to convey my problem.

Advice is seeked to the above problem.

Thanks & Best regards,

George Kottackakathu Thomas

Answer:Default "From" email address not changing while replying to emails received on others

Welcome,

I cannot definitively answer yes, or no. I can tell you how it works on my computer. Unless, I manually change the email account, the default is always used. It is easy to make the change, you merely use the drop down menu located at the upper right.

The from is your address. Think about it, if I send you and email (from GMX,.com), how could the from say GMX, you do not even have or even know about GMX.

Did not find answer when I searched.I have Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, and IE6, SP2.When I go to a web site and click on File, Send page by email or Send link by email, I get the message box entitled Enter Network Password, asking for user name and password.   How can I get it to go right to the Hot Mail message box so I can send?   In Tools, Internet Options, Programs, the Email section shows Hot Mail, so it should go right to Hot Mail.If I change the Internet Options, Programs, Email section to Yahoo Mail, instead of going to my Yahoo mail, I get a message box with the title Microsoft Exchange Setup Wizard, but it should take me to my Yahoo Mail.Anyone know how I can fix these two to work right?   Thanks much.Anna Ruth

Hi,

My computer became infected with a number of viruses that are now cleared.

However I have noticed that the send bytes is 5,768,960 and the received is 3,894,765.

My internet connection is broadband 2MB.

Is this correct or the result of a virus/trojan.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

This is showing how much data is moving back and forth between your computer and the Internet. There isn't any way to tell if this is normal. Post another HJT log in the security forum if you want your system checked out.

I hope I am posting in the correct forum.... I wasn't sure if I should post in the "am I infected" forum or here.

Anyway, I received an email from a trusted contact with a WhatsApp link in it, saying "You have new messages". I clicked it (accidentally, not that it matters) and thought it was just a dodgy email trying to sell fat-busting remedies. Then, immediately, my email was hijacked and started sending similar "WhatsApp" emails out to addresses I knew as well as other random ones.

I changed my email password and this seems to have cured that problem of emails being sent out. However I'm not sure if anything else has been put on my computer, so I'm hoping someone can help me check that it's all ok, and if not, help me get rid of anything bad my laptop has caught. Also whether you can advise if my other passwords are likely to have been compromised, as I do use a password manager (note most of my passwords are different to the email password I had when this happened). I also restored to a previous restore point, in the hope that would also help fix anything.

I'm running Windows 8.1, 64-bit. Windows firewall is on (and has been the whole time).
I scanned my computer using NOD32 Antivirus 8 and nil threats were located. Then I ran the system restore function to roll back to a point from yesterday.
I then came here and followed the instructions and the FRST64 logs are as follows:

Hi Guys

Wondering if you may have some suggestions....

I have OE 6 and usually do not have a problem, but for some weeks now very many emails are not being received by the recipients. It is very disconcerting.

I have 7 different email accounts, two through yahoo, and the rest through my own web domain servers and this problem appears with all accounts.....!!
I had Mailinfo on for a few months but that kept screwing up OE so removed it, then tried MSGTAG, it appeared to work, but I removed this to see if it was causing the problem to no avail...
So I am guessing that there is a problem somewhere with OE.... does anyone have any bright ideas??

Cheers

Hello,

I work for an investment company and by law ALL emails sent and received, must be read and initialed by me daily. Currently I am having to get all the emails from each individual in the office. Thank goodness its a small office of 4 or this might take much longer than it currently does. Is there any way that I could set something up so that all emails incoming and outgoing, from all individuals in the office, could be sent to my account? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Answer:receiving both sent and received email from the office on one email account

You could have email rules set up on each account that auto forwards a copy of both incoming and outgoing to your account.

We currently use aPlus to host our website and provide email services. For the past few months, we have been experiencing problems where we will send email (via Outlook) and everything looked good on our end only to find out the recipient did not receive the email. aPlus kept asking for the email header and I kept telling them sent mails don't have headers.

Has any one experience such a problem? This is causing us major problems.

Since they are so unresponsive, can someone recommend a web/email service provider?

@dhmh? dhmh wrote:I received a box and metal canister to return the old defective battery..Do I have to return it? just wondering..as i didnt know that I had too..No one is coming to your door to demand return of nasty, defective battery; I should think the same is true for the metal canister. The canister is meant to be used to safely transport the / a defective battery -- batteries of certain types might be dangerous if mishandled, stored, or transported incorrectly.  This is particularly true of batteries determined to be defective. Assuming you have the (possibly) defective battery, I would suggest you follow the instructions for its safe transport and disposal by HP. If the instructions and the canister did not come from HP, then you should do as you wish to remedy the situation to your satisfaction. When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Fixed / Answered? I have a Nokia Lumia 521 windows phone running windows 8.1 on which I have a few separate email accounts to manage. I am repeatedly receiving send error messages when using a non-gmail account, (outlook.com, mail.com). I've tried re-starting the phone, cleaning the cache, deleting messages from folders, but the results, if any are short-lived and unsatisfactory. Any suggestions or a fix would be welcome. Software version is Lumia Cyan

I have a Live Mail email address and also another email address, I am receiving the other address under Live Mail Account in some cases in addition to the correct address and in some cases instead of the correct address. Can you help what can I do to correct this please, before I went to Windows 10 it worked correctly!>

Answer:Emails received on wrong address in MS Live Mail

If both email addresses are different then it would seem that the other one has been linked to your Live Mail account, I'm not sure exactly how you un-link email addresses but in the event that no-one else can tell you do a Goggle search of the way to.

Although I tick the box to receive notifications about threads I've replied in, I cannot recall the last time I actually got an email.
PC Advisor is "whitelisted" and I've checked the Spam folder, they're just not being received. Are other users still receiving notifications?

Answer:Email Notifications not being received

Its one of those things that seem to have died when the site was "upgraded".
Try unticking the box log out of the site - then come back onto the site and tick the box again.

Now what? Whomever was in my machine before the reinstall I just did has my email contacts info. Does that mean they can just access my email when they like?

Hi. I am having trouble trying to print an email. When I control-print I get my printer and select it. I fill in other various options like printing a single page. At the bottom of this in the task bar I can see faintly "Print" and "Cancel" but I cannot select either. "More settings" takes me to the next print screen. At the bottom of this I can see, again, faintly "OK" but cannot select it.
I have no trouble printing from my text documents.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

We send an email out to new customers, the customer confirmed he got the email then changed the email address on his account. We sent a new confirmation to the new email address, which the customer got and confirmed. All of this was on 6/17. Hi, I am not sure if this is where I should post?
I received an email from a friend which contained an attachment and when I click on it to open it, I get the following error:

"The file does not have a program associated with it for performing the action. Create an association in the folder options CP.""

I don't understand the message nor do I know where the folder options CP is nor do I know what "program" I should be creating to read the attachment". It is simply a pic with some prose.

I would appreciate comments, thankyou.

Hi, using outlook 2013 and want to know is there anyway I can tell a received email was edited and in what way. Is there something in settings to tell or a piece of software?

Answer:Can I tell if a received email was edited before sent to me?

You might want to review the info found in this thread:http://www.computing.net/answers/of...Basically, the only 2 ways to determine if the text was changed would be to:1 - Contact the original sender and view what was actually sent via their "Sent" log.2 - Contact the owners of the severs along the path that the email took and compare what they "received" vs. what they "sent". Both versions of the email would be stored on their servers. However, gaining access to those files without some level of court order could prove to be troublesome.Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.

I have a problem with one (supplier) contact. He is unable to read any Email coming from me as "it is encoded gibberish". All he can read is my Email address to know it is me sending.

I do not have a problem with any other contact. I receive and send many Emails a day. I have sent mail to him from two differing computers located 70 miles apart using two differing OS, two different EMail clients and two differing ISPs. ALL fail. His business uses AOL.com. Even his website contact form fails in the same way, he gets an unreadable message. He says no other customers/contacts have the same trouble. This has been going on for months now.

Any (polite!) thoughts on what it might be and how to re-establish EMail communication please?

Answer:Email corrupt when received

If you are sending mail as HTML try Plain Text instead. If you are using Thunderbird: Tools - Options - Composition - Send Options... - select Send messages as plain text if possible - and add AOL.com (or his specific address) to the Plain Text Domains section.

Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.
Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)
If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.
Finally, please reply using the button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
Old topics are closed after 3 days with no reply, and working topics are closed after 5 days. If for any reason you cannot complete instructions within that time, that's fine, just put a post here so that I know you're still here. Can anyone explain why I would have judt received, on 10/3/06, an email that says it is dated 9/2/06? I have not opened it cause it looks to be similar to those that I receive in my Bulk Folder. In the inbox it shows the Sender, recipient, and date sent. That is where it says 9/2/06. I didn't bother to keep it so I can not tell what it says inside, nor do I really want to take that chance. Thanks

Answer:Just received email dated 9/2/06

It could be that the date is set incorrectly (back by one month maybe) on the sender's computer. I just set my date back by one month and sent myself an e-mail using Outlook 2003. I just checked the account that I sent it to and the test message is shown as being sent on September 3, 2006.

EDIT: I have also received SPAM that was sent a few years into the future. I suspect that in that case the spammers were trying to make sure that their message appeared at the top of my inbox list.

Answer:Email sent to one recipient not being received

Welcome
The ISP of your friend has decided that your email ( the email provider, not you) sends too much spam, it is being blocked by your friends ISP. You can TRY to overcome the problem, by your friend putting your addy in the safe mail designation.

I have received an email today which has an attatchment, I have not opened it for obvious reasons but on clicking on it to see what it was it seems to be some sort of update that they wish me to install. The email has come from [email protected] and I have never sent any emails from my computer to these people, I dont even know who they are.
I have googled their address and it takes me to some foreign page which I cant understand although there are bits of english thrown inbetween the foreign words. Can someone please take a look at the email below and let me know what they think. Is this a virus??

Mail server report.

Our firewall determined the e-mails containing worm copies are being sent from your computer.

Nowadays it happens from many computers, because this is a new virus type (Network Worms).
Using the new bug in the Windows, these viruses infect the computer unnoticeably.
After the penetrating into the computer the virus harvests all the e-mail addresses and sends the copies of itself to these e-mail
addresses

Please install updates for worm elimination and your computer restoring.

Many thanks anais
