Using a Form Filler to Protect My Password Online

Question: Using a Form Filler to Protect My Password Online

I use sxipper to manage all of my passwords and form filling. When I go to my banking wesite though, I always have to fill in my information manually.

My question is, by using sxipper to fill in my forms, are my passwords protected from hackers? Also, I read somewhere that it works just having sxipper enabled on your computer even if you're filling forms manually. Is that true?

Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi again folks. I was on Computercops/biz and ran across a freebie Password & form filler called www.handypassword.com and wondered if anyone has heard of or used it. Novasoft, established in 1992 is providing it, however, the about us site shows address in Novosibirsk, Russia. It says it's a world wide provider of Integrated technology, but wondered if it would be safe to use.
Appreciate your feedback. Thanks donricha

Only problem is it's not freeware and now it has stopped working and will only allow me 10 passwords.

Can anyone recommend something similar, that is freeware?

I am looking for a free password manager that isn't going to copy my passwords to a clipboard, but automatically fill the forms. RoboForm is perfect, but it's not free. KeePass does a lot with the clipboard and I just don't see that as safe. Any suggestions?

I used Lastpass for a while when it was first released. Good features and easy to use. I think you can import your RoboForm information also.

Hi all. I do have another post going but do not want to cram so many questions in one post. (Hope that this is an acceptable practice )Anyway, my Sony desktop crashed the other day. I had a new Hard Drive installed and recovery disks were used. PC is good to go. Trying to tweek it back to the way I am used to having it.QUESTION:I had a form filler program called ROBOFORM on this PC before it crashed. I had MANY years of passwords and stuff saved there. When I brought this PC to the Geek Squad at Best Buy the other day to see if the PC could be repaired, I was told the hard drive went. They were, however, able to make a disk with my ROBOFORM passwords. I can not get the disc to open the list of passwords. It asks me where I want to open the and give me a list of choices. (Paint, notepad, adobe etc.) None of them will run/open the files so I can see them. This was a program that I paid for. How can I make the disc start to fill my forms again when I am at certain sites? (Gee, hope I am making sense)I just realized I never downloaded the ROBOFORM program onto this pc.  Does that have anything to do with the disc not opening??If I go and download ROBOFORM, how does it know who I am. How will it know about the disc full of passwords? How do they recognize each other?HELP PLEASE..........My Passwords are VERY important to me.Thanks!!

Answer:ROBO FORM / Form Filler - Help Needed Opening/Running a Disc

Yes. I know the website but what do I do? Will they know my info or do I need to pay again. I am lost.(Sorry)Dee

Hi all,

i have one form I'd like to password protect. I found the following code online that I know will work:

In ON CLICK event
Dim PassWord As String
PassWord = InputBox("Enter Password")
If PassWord = "YourPassword" Then
' Open Form
DoCmd.OpenForm "YourFormName"
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec
Else
MsgBox ("You're not authorized")
End If

but the problem is that this is tied to a button on the switchboard. I have 5 different switchboard pages, and if i tie this to the first button on the physical form (in the form section), I think it will require the password for the first button on all the pages.

is there a workaround or another way to do this?

TIA,

E

Question: MyIE2 form filler

why does the form filler remember some of the forms I have filled in but not others?

Answer:MyIE2 form filler

I assume you are talking about the RoboForm plug-in.

Fillform doesn't "Remember" what forms it fills in. It just fills in information on forms which is recorded in it's identities record when you ask it to. It has no record of which forms are filled in.

Access the "Identities" record by clicking the tray icon and selecting Identities/Edit.

Or in the RoboForm Toolbar, click the arrow next to "RoboForm, highlight "Windows" and select Identities from the pop out menu.

I am looking for some type of software that can export data from a database and automatically fill in designated fields on a form.

Another option would be to fill out one general form and have the program automatically fill out the data on multiple other forms. The general idea is to avoid filling out multiple forms with the same information manually.

Any info or ideas would be appreciated.

We are looking for some type of software or program that can extract contact information from a current database and insert the data into specified fields in a pdf fillable form (i.e. name, address, social security number, etc.)

We are a financial planning firm and store information about all of our clients/prospects in a database called Client Data Systems made by EZ-Data Inc. The database is similiar to Access (I think) in that it stores data in tables that correlate to specific areas of information regarding each particular contact in the database.

We spend a signifcant amount of time filling out forms and applications for each client. For some clients we end up filling out 10 or more forms and most of the time we are filling out the same information, like name, address, social security number, and birthdate. In our opinion this is a huge waste of time that should be able to be solved with the right technology.

We would like to find a way to have each of these forms/applications saved as a fillable PDF document. We would then specify the contact whose information needed to be in the forms and the program would automatically extract the data from our database and insert it into the specified fields in the form.

If anybody has any ideas please let me know.

Answer:Form filler/database extraction

Sounds more like a mail merge function. You could also do it in a mail merge sort of setup and then output the Word docs to distiller. There are ways for Acrobat to connect directly to back end databases like SQL. Here is just one article I have found:

Been using this free program for several months now , just trying out the latest version so I can only comment on the last build .
Its a pretty neat piece of kit and has certainly made life a lot easier , I hate typing in passwords and filling in forms . Surfing the net has speeded up aswell , one click and I'm into sites and signed in . Security seems pretty good and has been upgraded on the latest build .
I found it easy to set up and alter details so most folk should find it a breeze .I just love the icon with the sunglasses
Anyone else tried it ?

Answer:Roboform . Secure form filler.

Nope, not for me ... I use Firefox & Google's Toolbar "auto-complete" and both are Free.

You'll have to tell us what "bits" are disabled after 30 days if you don't buy the full program.

IE will do a resonable job too with it's own "auto-complete" ... though I would strongly suggest people use Firefox.
Let us know how you get on with RoboForm.

Hi
I installed a form and password filler on my machine that runs Vista. I then found that you had to connect the software to their website to use it, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it, but it did the same job as Roboform. Since uninstalling it, Vista is not remembering any of my user name or passwords and I have to keep entering them which is tedious. I have checked my internet options and made sure that under security I have the tab "automatic logon with user name and password" ticked. I don't know what other settings this software altered.

Has any one any ideas?

Thanks

It appears to be fixed now thanks. I went to cmd entered SFC /SCANNOW

OmniPage seems like it would work. Adobe seems to be INCREDIBLY expensive and I'm not sure if it would fit the bill, even though they ALL sat they do! Here is what I want to do:

.....1. Scan an existing form into the computer (application).
.....2. Convert that form into a computerized format so that only the cells that need to be filled can be tabbed to.

Extra features that would be nice are:

.....1. Click on a checkbox and have the form saved to a particular folder.

Programs I have found (which also includes the two aforementioned ones) that might fit the bill are:

.....1. OmniForm Filler 5.0
.....2. OmniForm 5.0
.....3. COSMI Forms Maker And Filler
.....4. Formtool Deluxe
.....5. OmniForm v.5.0 Premium
.....6. FormTool Express 4.0
.....7. Form Tool Deluxe 6
.....8. ScanSoft PaperPort 11
.....9. Perfect Forms Maker & Filler
...10. Etc., etc., etc...

I know that there is a more extensive list out there, but these are just a few samplings of what I found online.

Any hints anyone?

Protect Forever Password (PFP)
Try our password protection software that allows you to hide your passwords against hackers !
How it works?
This software has a local database for any computers that is installed.
The password generated or defined by the user is encrypted in this database and this un-encrypted when the user want this password.
The user create the password [Create table in the local database]
The password is then encrypted in real-time with a new encryption method created in real-time for this password.

Soo :

Password ---> Stored as (ex) Md54%?9fpdmz?d^$~#dFpQ#@2$Q*Z&*DmqO)"dmAo (for 8 length password is about like 200 length in store (encrypted))
When the user want this password for exemple, to connect to facebook :

The software decrypt this password. Not so easy. The software decrypt 50 fakes passwords in same times. So the hackers can't see where the real password is, because the encryption is not at 1 time but in 5 + 2-perchar

Soo, there is it that the hacker can see :

qpz
pAo -> Uncrypted in real time to : pass (exemple) <-- first 3 chars of the real password (exemple)
iAo <-- Uncrypted in real time to : lolilol - Fake password 1 (or 10 , just an exemple) 3 letters
iQm <-- Fake again
PdA <-- Maybe 3 letters from the real password ? ;D
Xk7 <-- Maybe Fake?
DmP <-- Maybe?..
...
...
500..+ times

So the computer gets multiple datas Fake and Real.
But, the real password is saved in store of the case (the ... Read more

Hi everyone, I'm wondering what's the best way to protect you PC online? Recently, I was zapped by some Malware off a website, and it destroyed my computer.

Currently I use, AVG anti virus, SpyBot S&D for spyware, Malwarbytes, and just in case, Rkill. In the recent case...I couldn't even get to Rkill fast enough to run Malwarebytes. It had already changed all my exe files into lkn files. Nothing would open.

Well, I'm back up and running, but I'm wondering if I can ever really be safe from these attacks?

So what do you think is the best way or best software that will keep a person from getting hacked?

Thanks, Prozac

Answer:What's the best way to protect your PC online?

Anything other than AVG. Stay clear of Avira too. Avast is very good, MS Security Essentials, Comodo, Nod32, Kaspersky, others.

Malwarebytes and spybot are great keep those. And for virus/firewall/internet security I personally use Comodo. It's free, fully customizable, 64 bit option, fantastic parallel processing, and it keeps my system super clean. Coupled with an SSD you can max out all 8 threads on an i7 running a scan without bogging system down, it's awesome.

*but most of the good ones have on-access background file scanning. So as soon as something hits your system it picks it up right away.

Ok. It's obvious there is no fool proof way to protect your PC online, which got me to thinking, "what's the best way to protect your PC offline", and the only thing I could think of was choose the best way to protect your data offline. I think that backing up the Hard Drive often would do the trick.

That way if you do get burned by malicious stuff from the internet, at least you have your stuff backed up. To that end, I ask this: What's the best way to back up your hard drive?

External HD, second HD in tower, are there any backup services? Obviously I'm terrible at backing up my stuff.....but I'm tired of getting burned. Any suggestions on the best way to back up?

Thanks, Prozac

Answer:Part 2 - Best way to protect your PC online?

All of my computers are backed up daily to my Windows Home Server. From there I backup the WHS and WHS backup database to three different external 1.5TB HDDs. One of those is always kept locked up in my desk at the place I work. The other two are at my house hooked up to the WHS. I always rotate the off-site drive once a week, sometimes every two weeks, just depends on how busy I am. I also complement this backup with iDrive, an on-line backup service. I keep all of our family photos, home movies and music collections synced to the WHS which runs a backup of those folders to my encrypted iDrive account every night.

Okay, so I'm starting research for my next article. It's going to be about How to Protect your Online Privacy.

Please let me know what you think of my steps. I'm going for more of a paranoid perspective than a combination of usability and privacy. (I know they're after me, oh no, there they are.) :google:
I know cookies should be disabled globally and allowed on a site-per-site basis.

I am also blocking flash globally and allowing it on a site-per-site basis. I believe this will protect against flash cookies.

I'm using an ad-blocker. This should block many of the ads that would report information back.

I also know about using Anonymous Surfing Services (like those discussed here) to mask your IP.

I will also advise blocking all scripts globally and allowing them on a site-per-site basis. This should block all types of super-cookies (including Evercookies). Thus I don't think I need to advise blocking flash any more as if scripts are disabled flash cookies shouldn't be able to be set. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Can you please comment on my ideas and let me know if something I'm going to recommend isn't enough (or adds nothing in terms of privacy)? Also, please leave any other suggestions you may have that I haven't mentioned.

(I'll update this post as I am given new information.)

Thank you.

If I connect to Internet, I felt somebody using my information. window vista is in my computer.how to protect from hackers.thanks.

Answer:Window vista how to protect from online hackers

Stopping your PC from being hacked into is a function of the Firewall software installed on it. Although Windows Vista has it's own Firewall, it only monitors data coming in, not going out, which leaves a PC only half-protected if a trojan should find it's way in and it starts sending data out. Moreover, the Windows Firewall is "silent", meaning it gives you no feedback when something is blocked in real-time.So a two-way, third-party Firewall will give you much better protection. All third-party Firewalls are two-way, so you only need to decide how much you want to pay for it, and which one you like best.I use Norton Internet Security which is a Firewall & Antivirus combined. It's easy to configure and use, and doesn't bombard you with endless alerts, plus I believe it's protection is second no none: http://now-static.norton.com/now/en...If you already have antivirus software & only need a Firewall, Norton do not have a "Firewall only" product anymore. There are some free ones listed below:Comodo Firewall: http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ZoneAlarm: http://www.zonealarm.com/security/e...

Hello,I am new to webdesigning and am making up a website for a friend and they want an online contact us form that goes to their email. Is there a way I can do this just using html? I have no idea what to try next...Thankyou,Kat

Answer:Online form in html

You need a form handling script, which takes the information the form user inputs and turns it into an email which is then sent on to the address you specify in the handler script. Most people use either a CGI (Common Gateway Interface) or PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) script.Your choice could be governed by what the web host supports where the site is currently hosted. If you are allowed to run your own CGI scripts and you have a CGI bin you can obviously choose to use a CGI script. Where the web host supports PHP you can opt to use that instead.PHP scripts are usually easier to get your head around than CGI when you are first starting out. Most PHP scripts need no file permissions assigned to them, while pretty much all CGI scripts need permissions assigned to allow them to run using CHMOD on Apache servers, or by using the built in permissions tools in your FTP client. Here are some links for you to try for PHP form handlers:click hereclick hereclick hereAnd for CGI scripts: click hereI'd plump for PHP if your web host supports it. Instructions for use are on the various script sites and included when you download them.T

The first thing people do after installing an operating system is to install an antivirus software. With an antivirus installed, they think that their computer is safe now. But how effective are these antivirus? New malware is written every day while old ones are enhanced to bypass both signature and behavior based antimalware. Under current circumstances, it is safe to say that antivirus software itself can be exploited by the cybercriminals to compromise your computer. Do antivirus really work? Is an Antivirus good enough to protect you from modern online threats? Is it still necessary & relevant? Do you even need one? We?ll talk about that in this post.

Is an Antivirus still good enough to protect you?
Antivirus software is either offered as free basic version or a paid pro version with some additional features. The same holds true for Internet Security Suites too.

Out of these two, the paid one?s typically are bulkier, occupy more space, take up RAM and use more CPU, etc., while at the same time offering you integrated protection.

The problem starts at the point where the advanced anti-malware start interfering with your operating system and browsers. These security software reach out to the OS kernel and tweak it for continuous monitoring. They also bypass the built in features of browsers that detect dangerous web pages. That means installing such a security software can expose you more to the dangers lurking out there on the Internet.

Answer:Is your Antivirus still good enough to protect you from modern online threats?

Can't say about my antivirus but if a member follow some basic method while surfing the internet and using computer you can surely can stay safe and an antivirus is surely gonna help you out, but if someone specifically is having a motive of hacking into your computer than i would say none this might work.

I'm looking for some software that allows forms, such as job applications, to be completed on line via a website and then emailed to me. Currently I have non-saving PDFs on the website, and they can only be printed off an mailed in. Obviously I am aware Adobe provides this, but I was wondering what other software people have experience of using, the cost of it in comparison to Adobe, or even non-PDF formats.

Note: I am not looking for just a list of links here - I can google just as well as the next person. I'm looking for first-hand user experience and reviews. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Online Form Completion Software

I always thought that a webpage with a form was fairly easy to setup, especially with a good WYSIWYG editor. Just have the form action email you.

You also have the option of coding in form validation to prevent garbage from being input.

The cost would be your time. You can get the tools to do it for free.

I want to create an editable form that includes a drop down calendar. Ideally, I'd like to see a list of months in the dropdown and be able to select a month's detail.

I'm not picky if it's HTML, PDF, WORD Form, whatever gets the job done.

Thank you

Anybody know where I can find a script or something that will help me develop a quiz? The quiz can probably be done a few different ways. But basically, it is intended to calculate a person's score based on the answers they chose. There are seven sections with about 10 yes or no questions in each section. If they answer yes, they get so many points. At the end of the quiz, it calculates their score and gives one of three summaries. (Imagine a Cosmo magazine quiz)

I'm imagining a check box next to each question. If the checkbox is checked, the points get calculated. But I guess I need the script to calculate it and then return the summary when they are done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking online - without much success including hotscripts.com, for a form script. Esseentially I want to build the form in dreamweaver and then using the script deliver the form content direct a specified email address - the email arriving with purely the form content as completed. The previous form I used worked - but included all the form script field between each line. As my client is very non techie this would be too confusing. Can anyone suggest a free solution - with no advertising ...and bear in mind Im not a programmer so it must be both flexible and REALLY simple to implementThanks

Answer:online form to be delivered via email

Some possible suggestions in this thread, a few below your own in this very forum:click hereAlmost any email form handler will deliver your form field output to an specified email account - that's what the handler does.Matt's Script and Jack's Script are both very similar and work quite well. Matt's Script would be the one I'd recommend over the others. You configure about three lines of code in the form handler script, upload to your CGI bin and give it the correct permissions (assuming you are on an Apache web server) then you put a couple of hidden fields in your form and that's about it.Ask if you get stuck with specifics.

It's been a few years since I've been in the loop with a lot of this type of stuff and was wondering if any of you could help me.

I'm looking for some software that will kind of kid proof the internet a bit (well, as much as possible anyhow) for an 11 year old.

She's real good at being careful, but every now and then she'll mistype something and wonder of course.

This being said, she is now allowed to spend time online unsupervised, but, even with someone watching things still happen now and then.

I know there has got to be software that will block children from wondering off course.

But, is it possible without just creating a "good list" and blocking everthing else?

Thanks for the help!!!

Answer:Software to protect young kids online? You know, porn blockers and the like.

there's something built into IE to do this, but i can't exactly recall how to get to it.

I posted this in another spot, but thought I would get better results here.....

We have sales reps that currently go from customer to customer taking orders. They fill out a order sheet then either hand it in to the office when they get back or fax it in.

I would like to step into the 21st century and try to make this form electronic or web based where they can submit the form while at the customer site and the form should then go to a couple departments to begin processing.

So, I'm looking for ways to do that. What would you guys recommend? I was thinking of making a form using Google docs but was not sure if it's a good fit.

The form has some basics on top such as customer name, contact info etc. Then down below it looks like a table with 10 rows (one row per order) and 10 columns (each column has details about the order such as size/qty/desc) .

Im trying to CREATE a subscription at DDO - Dungeons and Dragons online.
The website is http://billing.turbine.com

I then go to create a new subscription for DDO. It then asks me to type in my 25 character product key. And all the other info for creating an account. When i do this, and click submit. Absolutley nothing at all happens.

I learned the website is JAVA script based, and the 25 key character part is programmed specially, to add hyphens and make sure you have 25 characters in it.

I tried to fill out this form on IE, Firefox, and Avant browser, but nothing at all works. I have java installed, Version 5.0 update 6. And im useing .NET Framework 2.0. I tried to fill out this form on version .NET framework 1.1 and i still had the same problem, when i installed 2.0 there was no change. And if 1.1 was corrupt 2.0 would never install, so i dont even think its .NET framework.

Whoever decides to help me, you can go to the website, and type in a fake product key, and click submit. And it will work, it will tell you the product key is invalid but it doesnt even do that for me. But it still means it works. What we need to figure out is why it works for you,. and not for me?

Also I get errors in my java script console in firefox.

Answer:Javascript problem, online form doesnt submit.

Error: submitForm is not defined
Source File: javascript:if(submitForm())document.myForm.submit();
Line: 1

Error: documentClose is not defined
Source File: https://billing.turbine.com/index.php?page_id=29&billing[process]=2
Line: 616

Those are the errors from my javascript console in firefox. Also i cant sign up with a guest account? Im suppose to create a subscription with the 25 character key provided when i bought the game. From there i provide a credit card, and get 30 days free, and after that they charge me.

I want to know how I can password protect IE7 so that anytime the IE app is called to load, it will ask for a password. Correct password = internet access, incorrect password = no internet access. There are no Windows users setup except for Admin (and I would rather not do that either), so protecting folders etc. with that is not an option.

I have looked extensively for a 3rd party app or add-on, but cannot find anything. Strange, as I would think this would be something that many people/families would like. Just something simple to block IE only. Freeware would be nice, too.

Thanks in advance!

The main reason that I'm backing up is in case my computer would get stolen. I

Question: Password Protect

Hi,

I believe this is my first post here, so I guess I new.

I'm curious to know, if a utility, third party software or anything that would accomplish, prompting for a password before any download takes place (mainly from the Internet) exists? Multiple people use my PC at any given time, and I want to know what goes on here. I don't want someone accessing a game site or something, where they have to install a plug in or what not. I just went through hell with my core duo running like an 8088. Not to say it came from that, I don't know, but if I can rule that out the better. I've seen programs that will password protect files/folder, but I need to prevent downloads, and creating an administrator account seperately, did not seem to work as I thought it was suppose to.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

StuCazz

Answer:Password Protect

Any internet usage means some kind of downloading. When you open a webpage, a bunch of images and text is downloaded. There is no way for any program to tell the difference.

You may want to give the untrusted users very low privileges (down to guest level even) and allow them to use only the safer browsers like Opera or Firefox.

Maybe describe the situation a bit more. What kind of people are these and what are they using the computer for?

Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5 or later) has an AutoComplete feature that helps you
fill in Web-based forms. If the feature is enabled, each time you submit data in a form, the
information is encrypted and stored on your local machine. The next time you encounter a form
field with the same internal field name, IE tries to complete that field automatically. As
soon as you type a letter that matches the beginning of any recorded value for that field, IE
displays a list of possible values from which you can choose. To see all saved values, you
press the Down Arrow.

The Internet Options applet in Control Panel lets you turn AutoComplete on and off and clear
all its recorded data. It doesn't, however, let you clear form fields selectively or view the
stored data. This issue's utility, AutoWhat? 2, fills the gap. With AutoWhat? 2, you can view
what's stored for each input field name, delete incorrect values, and preload the system with
additional values.

AutoWhat? was originally released as a PC Magazine Extra utility in November 1999.... Read more

When I got my computer some years back,I remember having to type in a password and my name (I think) to open Windows or to just enter the computer. I was thinking that you could do something to get rid of the sign in box and I did. So when i turn it on it starts up Windows.
Is there a password protection at startup I can install to prevent prying eyes from getting into my computer?

Answer:password protect

There is a BIOS password you can set that will not allow the system to boot up until the password is entered, so it won;t even go into Windows.

You do this by entering the Startup when your system is just starting to boot up. Usually you will see something along the lines of Pres F1 to enter Setup or maybe it'll be Delete, or something else. In the BIOS setup, you will be able to find the Security section that will allow you to enable the password, and set what the password is.

One word of warning though, don;t lose that password!!

Question: password protect

I have used a screensaver and i set that when the screensaver comes on, and someone tries to access the comp, you have to enter the password. Now, usually, this would show the start up screen and show the computer's name, and then ask for the pass.

the screensaver reset itself a few weeks ago and i thought nothing of it, no one is around my comp anymore to neccessatate it being password protected. I did however, want a screensaver and i also wanted the monitor to shut off after x amount of time.

So today, I set the same screensaver and i set the power off function, then i took a nap for two hours. I wake up and see this new window in the screen, now the monitor should have shut off an hour ago, and i have never seen this window before. the window said that the comp was locked and that only an admin could unlock it, but it wasn't a startup screen and it didn't show my computer's name like i had set it. i tried to just click okay but it was really locked, so i typed my password and got in and now i'm writing this to ask why the new window popped up and not the startup screen like always and to ask why it doesnt show the real computer name i set it too now?

I have had a rash of trojan viruses too, like two a day, could this maybe change some settings or something that i don't know about? when i do get a virus, i immediately update and do a full scan and get rid of it.

Answer:password protect

My guess is that you're noticing the difference between the welcome screen and the older windows default logon.

Try going into control panel -> user accounts -> change the way users logon -> uncheck the wecome screen box.

If you post a pic of the new screen when you're trying to get back into windows we might be able to help a bit more.
