Preferred Solution: unkown device in system

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, ok so after recently doing a clean install of windows 10(please don't get me started on that mess). my system has been plagued by random usb drops. it's where everything connected via USB suddenly disconnects then reconnects out of the blue. well I was using a Rosewill Transenclosure RX200R-APU-25B USB 3.0 dual 2.5 hard drive enclosure and transferring files from one drive to another (connected via USB) when one of these drops occurred. Now whenever I plug in my hard drive enclosure in a windows warning pops up and says "the USB drive that was just connected Malfunctioned and could not be installed" and in system manager it says "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)". I know it's not the hard drives because I can remove them and use another connection and they work fine, all files intact. It's just now my hard drive enclosure won't recognize. I recently installed Windows 7 on my L500-164 with all Vista 64 driver. I didn't find special drivers for Windows 7 x64 on the drivers download page.
But there is still one device with an unknown state in the device manager. I installed all avaible drivers so I don't know what that may be. How can I find out and install the proper driver? The device's name is just "unknown"

Thanks in advance

Answer:Satellite L500-164 Unkown Device in Device Manager

Hello Feodor

You confuse me completely. If the Win7 64bit drivers are not available how you can write ?I installed all available drivers?? What drivers you installed?

Anyway, open properties for this unknown device and go to details. There you can find device ID.
Send us this device ID.

I've made a fresh, clean install of Windows XP on my toshiba portege m200 (tablet). I've got most of the devices drivers installed, but there's one that I can't figure out. Device Manager says I have an "unknown device" on my "Intel 82801 dbm lpc interface controller".

What is it? I thought it was the chipset, but I had installed the Intel chipset drivers (twice, just to make sure I had really done it), but it still reads as "unknown device" on "Intel(R) 82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC ".

Answer:Portege M200 - Unkown device in device manager

To fix this problem go to device manager, right click on the unknown device and select update driver.
When the hardware update wizard comes up, select the advance option.
On the next window, select the "Do not Search. I will choose the driver" option
Now go to the Intel listing and select the correct "82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC?
Click OK and now it should work.

Make also sure that you have all drivers from the Toshiba website installed: > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

Recently i noticed that i have an unkown device in my device manager, its hardware id is "PCI\VEN_1414&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00041414&REV_00", which seems to be a usb host simulator.
But what on earth is it? I can't delete it, after deleting, it will appear again.

Answer:Unkown device in device manger and can't be uninstalled

If you right click on it then click Properties it should show the name of the driver. I'm not familiar with it. But deleting will just cause Windows to reinstall the device. I would find out what the driver is for before uninstalling.

Also "if it ain't broke don't fix it" is usually a good rule of thumb to follow.

In my device manager I have an unknown device in the other devices pull down. It's location is on [Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System] Diver Status [The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.] It has no digital signer, no driver version, provider, or date. Under properties: details its lists...
This just showed up in device manager today and most of the info I can find on it is Vista 64 related. Can anyone explain to me what this is and if it's important?

Answer:Device Manager Unkown Device

Have you tried optional updates thru windows update - i think its to do with a monitoring chip on the board - there are a couple of drivers on the site - ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Click downloads - vista 64 bit OS - GO to utilities - this maybe the driver you need - ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit - i would see if this installs firstly, or whether its on windows update.

There is also a driver Im not sure about it could be : ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device version 1043.2.15.37 for Windows 2000 / XP (32bit and 64bit) / 2003 (32bit & 64bit) / VISTA (32bit & 64bit)

I just did a clean install of Windows 2000 on an old IBM NetVista.

I upgraded the BIOS to the latest before doing so.

Everything is looking pretty good except I've got one device that isn't recognized in Device Manager. Device Manager does not say what it is - just the yellow ! mark.

I ran Aida32 and was able to determine that the unknown device appears to be an Intel 828101BA SMBus Controller.

I ran the Intel Inf Installer, but I still can't get Windows to recognize the device.

I'm not noticing any problems, but it would be nice to figure out what's going on.

What do you suggest I try now?

Answer:Unkown PCI Device - Looks like SMBus

Is this the file you ran?

Some of the 810 inf files do not include 2000. What model of NetVista is the machine?

I just upgrade my CPU from a Intel Celeron D, to a Intel Pentium D Dual core. Everything works great. When i go into the BIOS it list the new processor and all that good stuff, but on the device manager it list UNKNOWN DEVICE under CPU, and when i try to upgrade the BIOS for the mother board (Intel D945GCL) its says that its not an intel product. Everytime i start Windows (Vista) is says new hardware detected, but cant find the driver. Should i reset the BIOS? Reinstall Windows? I dont know what to do. The MoBo is compatible with the Processor. Everything else (CPU-Z, Everest, Ect.) sees thats its the right processor. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?

Answer:Upgraded my CPU, Now Unkown Device

when you installed the chipset driver it installs the CPU as well.
go into your Add/Remove programs under Control Panel and uninstall the Intel Celeron D driver , restart the computer and once it loads again put in the CD that came with your motherboard and install the CPU driver again

Answer:Device Unkown at start up

What "charger"? Is this the mains adapter for a Laptop or have you plugged a charger for another device into a USB port? If it is a USB connection, Windows might detect this as new hardware and try to install it.

I have a few problems:
1. My one USB 3.0 does not recognize any device I plug in. In the device manager "Unknown Device" is displayed under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" when something is plugged in. I can charge my phone in this port though. Actually, I just plugged in an older USB mouse I had and it worked briefly. I haven't had this happen with anything else. I know I had this mouse consistently plugged into this port when it was still working though. Hm... coincidence?
2. One of my two USB 2.0s works, but it will only recognize my newer USB Mouse, and nothing else. My last USB 2.0 will accept everything I plug into it; the older mouse, USB Keyboard, and Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch.
3. I'm pretty sure this is unrelated, but Windows always fails to install update "Intel Corporation-Display-Intel® HD Graphics."
4. The device manager likes to refresh... a lot... and fairly irregularly.
I've tried re-installing and uninstalling the "Unknown Driver," but to no result.

I've had a heck of a time finding drivers for my MB in the past. Even my $100/hr IT guy at work who took my PC home overnight at one point said he had a heck of a time finding the RIGHT MB drivers that worked.

So, my PC is working right now, so I'm a little scared to go messing with it but I think I've come to the right place. I've been having some random trouble rebooting and some slow frame rates in games and found I have a bad Video Card today (was running dual SLI) As I was researching that problem I discovered I have an unknown device, in the "Details" tab it's Hardware value is ACPI\AWY0001.

In another post on this site "" One answer was to update the chipset, but since that was an HP Pavilion the link provided obviously won't work.

My MB is an ASUS M2N-SLI rev. 1.00G

On a side note, I've read that the program EVEREST is a good program to give you info about your system, but when I install and run EVEREST home ed it can't give me any info about my MB, Chipset, GPU. Just thought that was weird. Maybe it's because all my drivers aren't installed.

Answer:Unkown Device problem, Maybe chipset related

Is the board a retail Asus board or in a OEM(prebuilt) PC?

My PC has started shutting down , well the screen goes black and I have to switch off then back on. When it reboots I get the error message that the system has recovered from a serious error and the Microsoft OAC tells me its caused by an unknown device driver. No solution availabe.

In device manager there is no yellow ? Ive gone thru all my drivers to check for updates and tried without success to find out exactly what driver is causing the problem. The microsoft troubleshooter on minidumps etc is as clear as mud to me.

I have run the following. Ewido, Spyware doctor, Spybot, Bazooka, Blacklight, Hijackthis and apart from a few cookies nothing was found.

The only thing that seemed to work was doing a system restore and the latest restore point mentioned something about Software Distribution T-Online ???? The only changes made recently were some updates so I assume this was one of them, I got nowhere with google on the subject.

Problem solved !! well it was for 3 days then it did it again. And it also bleeped twice in those three days. My pc has never done that before.

The shutdowns happen both when online and when in folders etc.

I run my XP firewall, Nod32, regularly use Spybot and immunise with Spyware Blaster and every so often run a full system scan with Spyware doctor. I also regularly run CCleaner and Reg Seeker.

Ive just remember one thing I did that may be relevant , maybe not but I was fed up with the flyout program list being so big ... Read more

I've had issues with the touchpad on and off ever since I bought this laptop. Sometimes it doesn't work after a startup (fixed with restart), just skips around after startup (fixed with restart) or the "advanced" touchpad functions like two finger scrolling etc. don't work after startup (fixed by reinstalling drivers + restart.  But this time it's different. There is no mouse pointer, no function at all. I've rebooted several times. When I try to install a driver I am told there is "no appropriate driver to be installed". When I look in the device manager, there is no touchpad device but an unkown device. Its hardware ID is ACPI\VEN_FFF&DEV_FFFF which can't be right. I've tried uninstalling the unkown device and searching for hardware changes. I've tried updating the driver through windows. Every once in a while, my windows XP crashes. When the windows automatically restarts, the error messaging of Windows shows up and says, "The system has recovered from a serious error..." When I send the error report to Microsoft, the online crash analysis says that the crash was the result of a devise driver but that no further infortmation is available. Other than the factory installed programs and Micosoft Office 2003 (a fully licensed legitimate version) and the RealOne Player, I don't have anything else installed. I have never had any file-sharing programs installed. Sometimes, before the Windows restarts I see this blue screen that quickly goes away which also says that the system crashed because of something, but the blue screen goes away quickly and the Windows starts. How can I find out what the problem is. How can I find out which one of my device drivers is causing the repeated crashing of the Windows XP? I even went to the device manager, but none of the devices had their boxes opened, which means that they are operating correctly. My laptop is an HP pavillion ze5385us and I bought it two years ago. It has Windows XP SP-1 with all the usual updates. It has the Pentium 4 Processor at 2.66GHz. And this problem has been going on for more than a year now. Please help!

Hello there,
all of a sudden the sound has stopped working on my packard bell easynote e3/e5 laptop.
I've tried system restores from many different restore points, but it keeps saying it cant do it. No reason.. it just, cant do it.
Ive checked the device manager and it has 2 yellow exclmation marks in the sound and video section, both of which are listed as Unkown items.
When i try to uninstall/reinstall the items, i get a message saying the items were not intended for my platform and it quits installation.

Ive now tried getting both the new ac97 patch, and the one i used when it worked last time, both of which havnt done anything.

Ive had a couple of messages about winmm wmd's and kernel audio splitters but still no resolve.

Ive gone to the packarad bell website and downloaded the new respective patches, including the realtek audio driver and the realtek wmd update but still no sound.

This is disgusting, Ive been trying to fix it for 3 days solid.

Is there an ymore info i can give?! Does anyone know what I can do?

Oh and when i try to play videos, obviously the video plays fine, but just without sound. When I try and open volume control i get an error message saying theres no mixing device on the system so i should go to add hardware, but of course everytime i do that, it either says theres nothing wrong and doesnt fix anything, or it says theres something wrong but it wont fix it. I resolved that by changing some(If I still remember correctly) chipset controller drive to another driver (There was only 2 to choose from the menu it was either one or the other) Problem is, I realized a removable unkown device in my toolbar. Went into device manager found out it was the sandisk U100 ssd (From the ID thing-o). It was labeled as an unkown device. I cannot find precence of the driver from any diaganostic software. (I THINK I used to see it in the hard disk test in the lenovo quick test but now there is only the main hdd) In the bios, the closet thing that I can find that resembles the SSD is something called HDD2 in the boot sequence.  Does anyone have an idea on how to get the cache drive back?

The laptop looses DVD everytime I shutdown laptop.

Can get it to work again after removing upper filters in registry, but then is listed in device manager as unknown, then will not work again with a code 10 error.
Any ideas on this one ?

Answer:Satellite P200 (PSPB6E) - DVD listed as unkown in device manager

That?s strange buddy, maybe your drive is faulty?!

Have you already tried to remove the CD/DVD drive from device manager? After this restart the notebook and your drive should be listed properly. Check this!!!

What OS do you have? Have you installed the latest service pack?

Hi all,

I've just built up a new computer last week, and it's been giving me really hard times so far.

The problem is that it will crash randomly, for no obvious reasons. For most of the time, it crashes when I'm using the internet browser, i.e. chrome. I can play battelfield 3 for 4 hours and with no problem and crashes when I quit the game. Sometimes it crashes 4 times an hour and sometimes it runs for a couple of hours.

I do notice that the mouse is not quite smooth and the computer usually crashed when the mouse was very sluggish. I'm using a logitech m510 and I've found that someone had problems with logitech's drivers, could that be a problem? I've tried to check the dmp files but all they can tell me are I have some problems with the drivers. One thing I noticed is that every time I get in to the desktop, there's the sound that tells me some devices are unplugged. I've checked my device manager, and the only problematic thing I can find are the logitech driver interface(s).

My system is installed on an SSD which came from my old computer, but I've completely formatted it and then installed fresh win8 on it, two times. I'm really baffled right now and really depressed. If anyone can help me, please take a look at my dmp files and tell me what should be done, thank you!

Answer:System crashes for unkown reasons, please help me

The reports from the data collection app are incomplete. Please rerun the app and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself tells you it's done). Then zip it up and upload it with your next post.

Out of 16 memory dumps there were 8 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Please start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

This just started happening - I have kids that download "everything" so some vermin may have crawled into the system... Mcafee is there watching but you never know

Upon boot this error message window comes up:
System error &H8007065B5 (-2147023179)
The interface is unknown

Then a few seconds later it is followed by 2 of the following error windows:
HP AiO Device Object Server
RegisterClassObjects failed. hRes=0x80076B5
Interface unknown
Max Retry attempts exceeded.
The system comes up 1/2 way.
Things that work:
opening some applications word / excel
Things that don't work
no startup bar
no printer
no internet connection (wireless cable access)

Another note:
I have tried the restore rebuild of Windows XP - tries it twice. Both times when the system booted during the install I was able to use the system, including the internet. BUT, the screen resolustion was 8bit low res 800x600 with no wayt to change it.
Upon a reboot the system reverts to the error messages mentioned above.

Frustrated smurf-daddy

Help if you can.

Hey guys, I've had this problem for days now and have had no success in fixing it. I've did a clean install of windows, yet I still come across this problem. I've linked the minidump file, with hopes that someone can tell me what the problem is. I've had 2 kinds of blue screen, both of which are in the driver.

Minidump - Copy.dmp

Now, the enclosed mindump had the system service exception error. At that time, I was running an AVG scan and transferring files from my backup. It began lagging, then crashed. There are a few things to note though. Before I restored, my computer experienced this randomly ( once a week ) while playing a game. However, there was no bluescreen, just a fizz and crash. After a series of recurring crashes, it came to the point where I couldn't even reach the loading screen without it crashing. Note that before my restore, there was no blue screen, but there were minidumps.

I'm not sure what caused this, as I have not made any hardware changes for years, especially not now with my finals coming up. Here I've attached a few minidumps before I restored for your viewing pleasure.

Minidumps before

I do have yet to run memtest on my computer, so the idea that my RAM is corrupt is not out of the question. Also, a recent techie I've called over said that my graphics card could be spoiled. However, I've read that these two errors aren't related to the graphics card, only drivers or memory.

As of now, I have AVG, drivers, motherboard... Read more

Answer:IRQL Driver and Window System BSOD, unkown cause

It's clear the reason for all of this is because your finals are coming up. As I've found, there's a direct correlation between approaching testing date and stability of PC.

Joking aside, I can kinda see why the graphics card could be blamed, as the crashdumps often had DirectX operations taking place at the time of the crash. I did, however, see other problems, such as a "file cannot be read due to corruption" error that triggered a BSOD.

If you wish, you can turn on Driver Verifier just to be absolutely sure we aren't dealing with some driver bug here. Do not select the following checks: Force Pending I/O Requests, IRP Logging, and Low Resource Sim. Select all other checks. Make sure to restart system after you finish setup. If you experience a boot loop afterwards, go into Safe Mode by pressing F8 prior to Windows logo and disable DV there. Provide us any new crashdumps.

I recommend you follow with some hardware tests:

RAM: Memtest86+ - 7+ passes
CPU: Prime95 - Torture Test; Blend; overnight (9+ hours)
Drives: Seatools - All basic tests aside from the advanced ones.

In addition, you may wanna run Chkdsk in regards to that corrupted file error. Go to Computer, then right click your Windows drive then click Properties. Then go to Tools tab, then click Check Now. Select both checks, then attempt to start. It'll prompt you to schedule to run test at next boot. Agree to it, and follow the same procedure for every other internal storage drive listed. So, I seem to be experiencing the same problem as the poster of +THIS THREAD.
(Which is why I'm posting in 'Am I infected.') While googling my problem, I came across this forum and decided to sign up.
I wasn't sure if I should just piggy-back on that thread or not, (I thought people might be less likely to look
at a topic with a bunch of replies) but hopefully, this can be merged with it if it needs to be.
And sorry in advance if I should have replied there.
I'm using Windows 7 (Home Premium) on my laptop.
Recently, Flash hasn't been working, so videos won't play.
Whenever I try to install the update, it gets 66% of the way through and then says "lost connection."
I've tried multiple times with no success.
I've also had the problem the other poster mentioned of ads popping up more frequently.
The only other particularly strange thing I noticed recently, was that after a Windows Update a few days ago,
when I clicked on System Restore/Create a restore point, it opened one of those yellow Unknown Publisher warnings about System restore. And I know that's not supposed to happen. It seems to have stopped since then, though, but I thought it was odd.
I haven't actually restored my computer since this has happened though.
Anyway, it seems likely that my computer is probably infected.
So I'm guessing I'll need to walk through the steps as that other poster did.
I just didn't want to try following it without someone telling me I'm doing the right thi... Read more

I've got some kinda bug that will

- redirect my Google searches to random sites twice, and then will actually go to the intended site

- makes my internet explorer window take forever to load up (only with add-ons though, will run fast and fine w/o add-ons)

I recently had some thing called "Mywebsearch" that I beleive I removed completly. . .maybe not.

I read some other threads of users who had seemed to be having the same problems, so I downloaded "HijackThis" and ran it - here are my main.txt log and my extra.txt log

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads a text file will open (report.txt), you can close it - the file has already been saved.

Please post the contents of the text file that opened earlier (you can find it at C:\fixwareout\report.txt ) in your next reply.

**If you receive an error message while trying to run FixWareout, copy autoexec.nt from the C:\WINDOWS\repair folder to C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder, and run FixWareout again.

Dell Vostro 1400, Core2Duo. Installed Windows 7 64 bit a year and a half ago. For those not familiar, the Vostro is not entirely compatible with 64 bit, so the drivers are a little hit and miss.

Computer runs slow sometimes, has since the install. I don't think I've ever seen the yellow triangles before, but I may have never looked at the device manager ... the computer is a secondary machine in the house.

My question is, do these indicate a performance problem or can I ignore them and assume the computer is working as best it can?

Hello Fellow Geekers,

I am really at my wits end trying to find out what is going on with my new laptop and its hardware, Its a brand new Acer Aspire V3-571G Laptop, the 2GB Dedicated NVidia GeForce 640M GPU, Alongside the normal Intel HD 4000 Display Adaptor.

Overall, I like the laptop, but I cannot seem to fix this Base System Device issue, I have gone to Acers website and downloaded EVERY driver their is, and installed every single one that is required by my system specification, however, the base system device error just wont disappear, I have tried searching high and low with google, to see if I can find anyone else with the same or similar issue, but absolutely no luck, it gets to me that much after spending countless hours and nights trying to study the problem, that I eventually have to stop, and walk away for a while and leave it alone, otherwise I will probably break the basted thing, its annoying me that much, I am just hoping its not a defective issue with the laptops mainboard or something.

Also, I cannot flash my BIOS, I tried doing that using the latest BIOS image offered by Acer for my specific model laptop, but it says its not for an BIOS Upgrade, which I don't quite understand, but I tried flashing anyway, no luck, the bios is still dated for early 2012.

I am running Windows 8 Professional (Legit Version from MS) and I have applied ALL system updates via MS Windows Update.

Does anyone know what it could be? or any suggestion on trying to fin... Read more

I'm trying to set up the SD card reader on my Portege 2000 running Windows XP operating system.

I have downloaded and installed the common modules and my BIOS does not need updating.

I have downloaded the SD host controller driver, but can not install it as I have no base system device in device manager as per the read me.

How do I get this so I can enable my SD card reader?

Thanks, happy New Year

Answer:Portege 2000: How to add base system device in device manager?

Base system device is usually the SD Card Controller. If you just install that it should fix the problem.
The SD host controller driver should be installed first. After installing the SD host controller driver, you can install the SD memory card driver. The driver can be installed as follows:

SD host controller driver,
1. From [Start] menu, select the [Settings], then click on the [Control Panel].
2. Double-click on [System] and choose the [Hardware] tab.
3. Click on [Device Manager].
4. Double-click on [Base System Device].
5. Choose the [Driver] tab and click on the [Update Driver] button.
6. Click on [Next] and choose [Display a list of the known drivers...].
7. Click on [Next] and select [Network adapters] in [Hardware types].
8. Choose the [Have Disk] button.
9. Locate the folder "{CD-drive}: Windows XP Pro\Toshiba SD Host Controller Driver" and follow the instructions on the screen.
10. Finally, restart the Windows

For SD memory card driver,

After installing SD host controller driver,
1. Insert the SD memory card in the SD slot.
2. OS detects it and starts to install the SD memory card driver.
3. Specify the inf file ({CD-drive}: Windows XP Pro\Toshiba SD Memory Card Driver) and forward the setup process.
4. Copy the SDDEVMGR.dll file under the Windows System directory.
Note that System directory means \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 for Windows XP.

OK so I have the asus rampage formula motherboard.

It comes with some utilities ... ASUS probe (for temp readings/voltages), AIBooster, and some other stuff.

The only one I installed was ASUS probe because I thought it would be useful, however, I'll get a BSOD randomly (even when not using the asus probe program) associated with the driver "ASACPI.sys" which when I look it up, is a driver for the "ATK ACPI Utility" (in device manager).

I remove ASACPI.sys from my system... now no more BSODs, but every type I restart the hardware manager comes up asking me to install ATK ACPI Utility...

I don't want it and can't permanantly get rid of it!

I even tried going to the windows\inf folder, found the oem.inf file that corresponded to this device, deleted it, and it still shows up. It shows up under device manager, under system devices, as "unknown device" every time I start my computer.

1) Base System DevicePCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2393&SUBSYS_167C103C&REV_30PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2393&SUBSYS_167C103CPCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2393&CC_088000PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2393&CC_0880 2) Base System DevicePCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&&SUBSYS_167C103C&REV_30PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&&SUBSYS_167C103CPCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&CC_088000PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&CC_0880 3) Unknown DevicePCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_167C103C&REV_04PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_167C103CPCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&CC_078000PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&CC_0780 4) Unknown DeviceUSB\VID\_03F0&PID_311D&REV_0001USB\VID\_03F0&PID_311D 5) Unknown DeviceACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_0004ACPI\HPQ0004*HPQ0004 Por hora... Answer:Base System Device & Unknown device

Hi, Need a little help, I installed Windows 7 and 8 on my notebook HP Probook 4530s Intel Core i3. And in both cases the Wi-fi doesn't work (although I can turn off and on the LED on / off function), but it cannot identify any network. And the sound doesn't work, although I have installed the sound driver, but the following message appears when I put cursor over the icon over systray "the audio service is not running", but when I go to OS services it is started . Maybe it's something with the chipset, but I've installed so much drivers and I don't know what else to do. And then, the Hardware Ids that appear in Device Manager. 1) Base System DevicePCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2393 & REV_30 & SUBSYS_167C103CPCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2393 & SUBSYS_167C103CPCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2393 & CC_088000PCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2393 & CC_0880 2) Base System DevicePCI \ && SUBSYS_167C103C VEN_197B & DEV_2392 & REV_30PCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2392 && SUBSYS_167C103CPCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2392 & CC_088000PCI \ VEN_197B & DEV_2392 & CC_0880 3) Unknown DevicePCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3A & SUBSYS_167C103C & REV_04PCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3A & SUBSYS_167C103CPCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_1C3A & CC_078000PCI \ VEN_8086 & CC_0780 & DEV_1C3A 4) Unknown DeviceUSB \ VID \ _03F0 & PID_311D & REV_0001USB \ VID \ _03F0 & PID_311D 5) Unknown DeviceACPI \ VEN_HPQ & ... I am tying to sync my Samsung Galaxy J7Sky Pro phone with my computer using Samsung Smart Switch Program.
When I start the Smart Switch Program and plug in the USB cable from the phone to the computer USB port, the device driver for the phone does not install properly or recognize the phone, as depicted by a yellow exclaimation point for the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro
device driver and AMDA00 interface under system devices.
I tried reinstalling the Samsung phone device driver but still get the above exclaimation for these drivers.
I then shut down and restarted the Samsung phone and the drivers reinstalled properly and the Smart Switch Program worked.

My issue is that the next time I restarted my computer, I get the same device driver errors.
Is there some way to prevent having to restart and reinstall the device drivers each time I want to sync my phone using the Smart Switch program?
Same issue used to happen with my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone, before I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.
It is a real pain in the neck and time waster.

Question: unkown infection

Hey, recently I discovered endless adds all over internet explorer in the most random of places that are Cleary virus related. these adds made it almost impossible to even watch a YouTube video as there was around 8-10 and they kept reloading/changing causing extreme lag. examples include my internet browser is out of date and so is flash player etc. I also noticed whenever i close a internet explorer tab or internet explorer in general internet explorer will stop working. I did a complete system scan of Norton which found some things that I removed however the adds still existed as a temporary fix I downloaded Add blocker which blocked the adds. however I want a permanent fix incase the virus, Trojan etc. can eventually overpower add blocker or crash my system altogether.
Here are the requested logs.

Question: Unkown icon?

Hi guys,

I have an unrecognised icon appearing on my PC. It appears on every single window and web page I have open, i.e no matter what I open this icon is always visible. The icon is marked in the black box , top right corner, I added the highlight box.

This is a shared computer so I'm not sure if someone else has installed or added it. When I asked if anybody body knew what it was the answer is always 'no'.

Any help would be great as its driving me crazy, looking at it all the time and not knowing what it is for.

Question: Unkown Virus

Hi All, Yesterday evening my AGV Virus checker splashed a notice on the monitor screen that it had found a "Trojan Horse Qhosts.dropper" (or something like that) on my computer. I ran a checkwith AVG and it said that it had got rid of this virus. Does anyone know what it is and is it likely to have done any harm that I don't yet know about? Do I need to do anything else to make sure? Many thanks in advance. gill

Answer:Unkown Virus

I am also having this problem, norton flashes that it has found the trojan dropper virus while I am connected to the web. But when I scan the system its says no virus was found. I have tried using search & destoy, that finds nothing. It is then ok for a couple of days and then norton again flashes it has found the virus. I have zone alarm on but I still keep getting this measage. I have been to nortons website and tried the removal method they suggest but with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas.

Question: Unkown Problem

i am not sure if this is hardware or a software problem at all.

Well im not sure what is causing this problem , im thinking maybe it is my mouse but my computer seems to be kinda glitchy lately. Well main problem is i cannot highlight something as in when i click and hold and go to high light some text is will highlight it and then stop and start high lighting again , or it will just lose the highlight. This happens with text and even when i try to select more than 1 picture it will unselect it and i will constantly try like 10 times before it actually high lights more then one picture. Weird thing is that other times it will work fine and i will not have any problem but lately most of the time is just gives me this weird problem.

I am not sure exactly how to describe the problem.. i could possibly get a webcam video of the problem if no one really understand what im trying to say.

What do you guys think the problem is and what is causing it.

Some thing as basic as being on the desktop , and you know when you hold down your mouse you can select icons with that box.. even the box just dies and start over and just stops.. its become a real pain to drag and hold stuff and highlight things.

Answer:Unkown Problem

I'm either thinking it's spyware related, or your mouse is on it's way out. I'm hoping it's the latter.

Run all relevant spyware cleaners and can you try another mouse.

Question: Unkown Infection

So the strangest thing is happening. Whenever I go to my Download folder windows loads up Dllhost.exe which starts using 10-15% of CPU and will keep chewing up all sorts of ram. I caught it once using 2 gig of Ram... I Ran the Symantec Trojan. Poweliks removal tool and it came up clean. It's really strange that this one specific folder is triggering the Dllhost.exe to open..

Thoughts ? Suggestions ?

EDIT: Found the issue. I had a hunch it was something to do with this 360 spherical video I downloaded from You Tube. I guess there was something about the file that Windows didn't like, or was trying to generate a preview. Really bizarre.

Question: Unkown Trojan

I have been trying to detect /clean this computer for two weeksPC is a laptop running XP pro with current updates ,and Kaspersky antivirus suite 6.03 corporateMe first hint was some odd persistent connections showing in my boundary firewall for the office late one evening.I thought all PC's would be off at that time. This one wasnt.I traced the IP addresses to China222.185.245.525124.238.253..88218.0.108.106202.105.21.217I tried dropping the connections but they quickly reestablished. So I setup a rule to block them. While troubleshooting the laptop the next day the user said his network monitor showed unusual steady high data rates.Using TCPmonitor and process monitor we found that a task named Firefox was causing the traffic. The user uninstalled Firefox and deleted the folders. When I allowed them the firewall showed the same IP connections to China. We replaced the Corporate Kaspersky with the most current Demo version and it started blocking a process running in svchost that claims to be coming from c:\~program\mozilla\Firefox folder. This folder does not exist.using the task ID I can kill 3 different svchosts tasks and then Laptop will run overnight without tripping the Kaspersky live protection. These tasks run about once every five minutes when the network cable is connected. They are silent when there is no network connection. When Kaspersky blocks the tasks Ethereal logs also shows that the program is using DNS to findNS1.3322.netNS1.ORAY.NETNS1.CHINA.CO... Read more
