I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Sure...You may have to turn off capslock though to get it to work properly...

Very frustrated over here. I have windows mail and three different emails that are set up with it. My main one, my work, is set as my default email address. When I compose a new message is pops up as the default, yet when I reply to a message the other two pop up. All of my emails that this has been happening on have been those sent to my default email address Stressed out over here.

Answer:When I reply to an email, my default email address is not the first one that pops up

I have answered in your other thread.

If the sender used the non default address, that is the one that shows up first.

Staff have their own email address ([email protected]) and 'send as' permissions for another one ([email protected]).

Is it possible to set a default send as address so the employees don't accidentally email from their own account when i'd prefer them to use [email protected] by default? I see when you're replying to an existing email it automatically uses the correct email address but I worry about brand new emails that are created.

I have a very nice database which allows me to run a community theater box office very efficiently (and for which I got incredible help from this group), including the generating of email for various purposes. I am now adding pay pal invoicing, and as a result have established a new email address specifically for dealing with pay pal. However, I do everything from my home computer so I would like to keep my personal email address as the default.

Right now, when I generate a theater email I have to manually select the theater email address as the account to use. I'm wondering if there is a way for me to set the email address from which to send in the vba.

A small problem but one I can't find covered in the Help index or under any tab. For some strange reason when I open a new message in OE, and go to Address Book to select a recipient, the name of the first individual in the Address Book is also inserted in the To: box by default. This has never happened in the past and I don't know why it's doing so now. I have tried deleting and reinserting the first entry but this makes no difference. I am having to delete the entry manually each time from the To: box. Any ideas please?

How do I set a G Mail email address as my default email address on Windows 7?

Hi, Gmail is not a program, it is a web base email service therefore you can't set Gmail as default email in Windows 7. But if you also have Outlook (One Office program) on your machine, you can set Gmail as your default in Outlook. Other email programs (yes, programs) may also support this. Regards.

I have configured the default mail app in Windows 8 to access a gmail account (via IMAP). My Gmail account pulls in personal and business email from two other email addresses (one with BT Internet, the other with a smaller hosting company). When I compose a new email or reply to an email using the Windows mail app I want to be able to change the "sender" address, depending on whether the email is personal or business. I have set up 2 different email aliases in my Live account, and set my personal email address ([email protected]) as the primary alias, but whenever I send emails from Windows 8 mail the reply address is simply set to "[email protected]" (with no email domain), and I can't find any option to change it.

How can I control the sender address in the Mail app?

If you have a Contact with an email address and a fax number, when you try to send them an email, Outlook sometimes prompts you for which "address" to send to. Other times, it justs picks one (usually the fax number).

I have several email addresses stored in Outlook and my main address is selected as the default.

When I create a new message, the default address is used. However, when I reply to a message or forward a message, it alternates between my different email addresses and I have to manually change it to send from my regular email address, which is annoying.

I can't find anything in the Help section on how to fix this and there don't seem to be any settings to override this.

I can't even seem to create a new Rule to automatically send from my regular email address (but shouldn't have to do that anyway).

Any ideas??????

I have what I hope is a temporary need to change my default "from" email address.

I have changed it from say aaa to bbb using tools/email/change/emailaddress and also rest the "more settings/reply email facility so replies go to my new email address too
I have set the bbb as my default email account [using tools/email/set as default]

Here is the problem;

when I create "new" emails it correctly uses the new "bbb" email address as my from address.

All seems to be OK.

BUT IF I receive a reply to this email that I sent [that was sent out with my bbb email address] and THEN I try to REPLY to it - the reply email now shows at the top "this email will be sent via aaa" - rather than the bbb I want it too!].

I hope I have explained it clearly - and you can see the frustration of the outloook programme.

It is as though outlook simply refuses to recognise the new default email account I have set up!

Frustrating to say the least - any technical help appreciated.

Answer:Can not change default email address in Microsoft Outlook 2003

By any chance do the bbb e-mail account settings in Outlook show your aaa address as a "Reply to" address? The entry can be found in "More settings ... -> General Tab" when the bbb account is open for editing.

I don't have any other suggestions other than that.

i use sbc yahoo dial-up for my internet provider. the default SMTP email is the main account, however the email i use is a sub-account. the only way i can find to change the email is through the registry. the POP3 and SMTP servers are still the same, but i don't want to unknowingly screw something up.

long story short, i would like the "email message waiting" notifier when i log on to be associated with the proper account.

i'm using windows xp home.

Answer:is it safe to change my default SMTP Email Address via the registry?

Did you contact SBC Yahoo! to ask them how?

I think if you want to mess it up, the registry is the surest way, unless you are an expert in your registry.

If I was going to do it by registry, I would
A) Make a new backup of the registry (and know exactly which backup file that is).

B) Export the keys in question, so they can be put back if the changes don't work.

C) Then make all the changes you want.

I have been unable to insert an address from my Yahoo email address book for some time now and I have decided to ask for help.

All I am doing is opening Yahoo mail and trying to compose a new email to send to someone who is already in my contacts. When I click "to:" or "insert address" my address book shows up. But when I place a check mark and try to "insert checked contacts" I go to this address on a blank page:

I see that this has been asked before but no one had replied and I can't find the answer doing a search.

Can anyone help?

I have Vista Home Premium 32 using Firefox. The version is the latest version of Firefox but this has happened in many previous versions of Firefox. (I was lazy [or in a hurry] and just typed in the address of the entity to which I was communicating as a work around.)

Answer:Solved: Yahoo email unable to insert address from address book

Concerning my post above: I turned on my older XP computer and I had no problem with inserting an address from the Yahoo! address book.

I compared all my settings in both computers and noticed that I had different settings relating to how pop-ups are handled. XP reminded me that the address book takes the form of a pop-up. On my Vista I had pop-ups opening up (?) in a webpage. That is the page which came up blank. After I have corrected the settings, I no longer have a problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

I currently maintain 15 websites, for various different DIY products. Each website has its own email address. We have some one who deals with all email enquiries. We are noticing large amounts of spam. It has been suggested that we use a single email address for all 15 websites.

Other than its going to be a nightmare editing all of the websites to 1 email address, what other pros and cons are there for this idea.

Answer:Multiple Email Address' or a single address

not sure how this will reduce the spam necessarily.

a good spam filter may help.

I have several email accounts configured on my windows mail on my Vista home premium and one of them is configured as the default email.

When I reply to emails received on email accounts other than the default email the "from" email address does not change to the email address of the received account.

I understand that the email address in the "from' field when I start a "new" message or create mail is that of the configured default email. My question is while replying to an email received in other configured accounts should not the "from" field email id change from the default email id to the email address of the email to which is replied.

hope I have been able to convey my problem.

Advice is seeked to the above problem.

Thanks & Best regards,

Answer:Default "From" email address not changing while replying to emails received on others

I cannot definitively answer yes, or no. I can tell you how it works on my computer. Unless, I manually change the email account, the default is always used. It is easy to make the change, you merely use the drop down menu located at the upper right.

The from is your address. Think about it, if I send you and email (from GMX,.com), how could the from say GMX, you do not even have or even know about GMX.

I have had to reinstall pc due to it going at a crawl!!

After installing Outlook 2002, I can not get Outlook to auto fill the email address field when I start to type an email address in it.

The address book is there and in tacked after copying the outlook.pst file back to its original location after install.

How do I get Outlook to autofill?

Also when I click the 'TO' button in the new email window, it says that there is no address book!
but when I click the address book icon in the main Outlook window there are email address there?!

Any ideas how I can get this to work correctly again.

Answer:reinstalled pc, now create email in Outlook 2002 does not auto fill email address like before

When you did the re-install, did you erase/format the hard drive before the re-install? If you did and did not save the Outlook auto fill file, then the all the auto fills you had are gone. Did you import the pst file into outlook?

I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address ( but to an old one ( So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.

I've been searching into this problem for quite some time now, and i cant seem to find any answer that works.

Anyway, for some reason or another, i was asked to change the wireless password for my router. which is no big deal, but thats when it started, My computer (has a wired connection to the router) cant seem to connect to the router (or maybe...interface with it?) I can ping everyone on the network, but thats about all i can do through the router.

i have restarted my computer, the router, DHCP is on, i have reinstalled my NIC's drivers, manually set the default gateway and IP and DNS, and all of them independently, ive -restarted- my DHCP services. all that fun you find in the rest of the answers i have found myself.

my computer is the only one currently having this issue, the router works fine for the rest of them, so that leads me to believe its just myself. Does anyone have any insight? did i miss something? ...and if there is any information i need to provide i will do so.

Answer:No default gateway address

Try this from the command prompt Start => Run => type 'cmd', then press 'enter'

ipconfig/release then press enter

In Outlook Express 6.0

Open the "New Message" window -
Click icon (open book) just left of "To" -
"Select Recipients" window opens -
"Main Identity's Contacts" is default folder is open -
The remaining folders seem to be in no logical order -

QUESTION: How can I change the default order of these folders?

They do not follow the same alphabetical pattern that the "Address Book - Main Identity" window follows.

Answer:OE 6 Address Bk Default Order

all my address books/folders sort by the same order (last name)

address book
sort by

then choose how you want to do it

click on list
then close address book

choose 'detail'
then sort by
- and choose your preferences

changing and redoing seems to reset everything

but as far as i can see, the selection is universal, can't have separate 'sort by' for each folder

Go here :

Download the program 'Hijack This' run the .exe file and hit scan. If you cannot locate the problem then copy / paste the log of what is running in a follow up post in this thread.

Also from the above site download Spybot Search & Destroy. Then when you install this use the check for updates feature. Not sure if Spybot will get rid of this hijack - but it will clear out a lot of spyware - as long as you regularly update it.

For networking purposes I am trying to bypass my router. I've followed several different websites instructions and am still getting nowhere.

Using command prompt, ipconfig, I've tried to figure out what my IP is and then from there using the Linksys admin page opened ports and attempted to bypass firewalls, but the IP address my program is using is not listed in my IPconfig. I have two routers and maybe three and I have feeling this has something to do with it. I have my VOIP box, my Wireless router, and the cable internet box provided by the cable company. I think one of the three or all of three are trying to protect me, I WISH THEY WOULDN'T!

Any advice would be very appreciated.

My Great-Uncle has Windows 98se. He uses the newest Netscape and recently clean out his inbox using the Netscape email program. For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. I know nothing about Netscape because I haven't used it in like, years.

Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

Answer:Netscape Email program uninstalled... need old email and address book.

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

Hi guys,
'Boopme' had me run MiniToolBox and he wrote that he found "errors and other issues" and he bumped me to this thread.
Norton now seems to be removed and the restart was successful w/ out a restore.
This is what I wrote in under the from "Am I infected?" thread;

Been having problems with my laptop running Vista Home premium svc pack2.
One day, a month ago, Norton was not updating properly. Upon the next boot-up windows would not start and I was forced to restart in safe mode with a system restore. This was successful but Norton Security Suite was still not updating properly.
Since then, on a few occasions, I have attempted to uninstall Norton without success thru the program uninstaler. Norton is unresponsive. I even got the Norton rep. to do a remote deletion of all registry files of Norton. But they all returned after the reboot of my PC because windows would not open and I had to start-up thru system restore.
Since then my yahoo email been hacked and spam sent to the contacts of my address book.
I know I got something but I don't know what.. Can anyone take a stab at what I might need to do?

Is there some way of moving all messages from my hotmail account to another email address? So when I emails are sent to my hotmail address they are then sent to my other email address, (then deleted from hotmail).
Is there a program that can sit on the desktop that is always checking hotmail, and when a email is recieved it is then sent to another email address? (this address is not a hotmail address).

Any possibilities??

Answer:Make all email that is recieved from my hotmail account go to another email address.

if you have outlook express linked to your hotmail account you can run a rule on the mail - not sure if it works on webmail cia outlook/outlook express
but the rume to forward certainly works

Its getting pretty old, it seems every two years or so a company is bought out and you have to switch your ending email address to that provider,
and now the latest will be, add to that a couple more in the list above i forgot the endings of its quite the list for about 8yrs worth.

Gmail? Yahoo? anything else worth considering as a permanent email address?

Answer:Best free email to use?...Im sick of companies being bought = new email address

I'd say Gmail. Otherwise try I've had an account with them for about 4 years, and even if I'm inactive for a couple of months, I go back and it's still there.

I'll bet you have not heard this one before. I was attempting to send an email to a potential client. Everything seemed to work well except that it was returned. The problem was that the address was changed somewhere. His name is spelled with a j but somewhere along the line, it was changed to a k and so there was no such person and therefore was returned to me.

When I got BellSouth DSL years ago I had Outlook email account set up with BellSouth as outgoing and old domain as incoming so I could keep my email address from another domain. It worked fine until a year or so ago I had to add another account just for BellSouth and that worked fine.

Within last few weeks emails from my email address (old domain) would not send. I've been through it with ATT tech several times to no avail.

It seems that ATT has trapped me out and does not want me to be able to keep my old email.

There's bound to be a way to set up my email accounts so my outgoing email from my other ISP provider will send through BellSouth without changing my very old and reliable email address.

Also, I recently have acquired my own domain name and I fear emails from that email address will suffer the same fate.

I hope this is not too long, but PLEASE HELP if you can.

Answer:Can't send email using different domain in email address BellSouth trapped me out...

If your BellSouth e-mail service is provided by Yahoo, then you probably need to go through a registration and authentication process for each e-mail address you want to send through a non BellSouth/Yahoo mail server. At least that is what I had to go through as an SBC/ATT DSL customer. They claim that they do the blocking to prevent from originating from users within their network.

EDIT: Forgetting my manners. Hi and welcome to TSG.

Short story. Moved to another state, got new email address, went to change to new email address in usrcp.
Followed instructions, then everything went cattiwampus.

Using the KISS method, I ONLY want to change from orig email addr to new one. Everything else stays the same.

Answer:Changed email address, recd confirm email, followed it, no result?

Sounds like you may have been taken in by a phishing ploy.

Can you explain the acronym usrcp, and cattiwampus is what makes me think phishing ploy. Run your panda product and see what shows up.

Do you still have the email? If you do, post a screenshot.

I just linked one of my email accounts to my personal gmail account so I could consolidate all my email but I found that it is much too cluttered. Now I have a mess in my personal gmail account.

How can I delete all the email from the linked account (which is now removed, but messages are still downloading) from my personal gmail inbox?

Answer:how to delete all email from a specific linked email address in gmail

Go to : Settings > Filters

The trick is to put a TO or FROM in the search field and hit TEST SEARCH, instead of applying the filter. Then delete what is in the search results. Now I don't know of a way to do this by account, but as long as you know the recipient or sender address (which would be your old email), then it should work fine. In your case, just put the sender address as your old email account and test the search, it should pull up all the email for you to delete

When I open a new tab in IE8 it automatically highlights the address bar text. So if I start typing immediately it types into the address bar.Is it possible for the default to start typing in my google toolbar instead? Thanks in advance.

Answer:IE8 New Tab Change Address Bar to Google Default?

If you have google as ur home page, then whats the point in tool bars that cover up the web page you wish to look at. So all i am saying is, tool bars take up space on the hard drive that could be better used for something more worthwhile. Also there are major problems still with IE 8, this is why it's not pre installed on Win 7 thats comming out soon. Open IE 8 and click on tools>>internet options, there you should see box there with ur home page. Press enter and that will put the cursor under the other address. Type in what what you would like to have open as ur 2nd page. But if you wish each new tab to be opened with google, then that cant be done. You could also use whats called "Links" and you can drag google there also, so if you click to open a new tab then click on that google on the Links bar, then that will open google for you.

Hi All, I just recently purchased a Victony dual-band wi-fi extender. First I was wondering why the default address is and not 192.168.1.x so that is just another device on your existing router.

Reason I ask is, after I had it setup and successfully connected my FireStick, I saw that I was NOT able to connect to the HD HomeRun TV Tuner app, as it could not connect to the TV tuner that I have on 192.168.1.x.

I changed the IP of the extender to .1.150 and this problem went away. I would like to know what the subnet SHOULD be.

My other problem is that when I connect to extender on laptop, I am not able to see file shares that I have on my PC that I can see just fine when I connect through router itself. I tried both .10 and .1 subnets on extender and I cannot see file share on either. I am able to connect to internet, so file share is the problem.

What do I need to configure to allow file sharing to work through an extender.

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Wi-fi Extender default IP address questions

Try using a subnet of on everything.

With our old email host, we could specify a "default" address to forward unresolved emails to. For instance, if I have a user with an email address of [email protected], and his sister sends an email from across the country to [email protected], how do I get Exchange to take the email, forward it to me so I can figure out who the email was meant to go to and send it along?

Answer:Exchange 2003 default address;en-us;315631

You can also try Mailbasket Lite from TurboGeeks

Most people just bounce unresolved mail, otherwise you're just collecting piles of spam.

I use the outlook (2003) address book for Word (2007) USPS mail addresses.
The default profile comes up as Outlook Address Book. It should be Contacts. (this is Outlook Cantacts not Windows)
I can get to Contacts if I choose OK on the empty Outlook Address Book. Then I can choose Contacts from the dropdown. . If I try to change the profile to Contacts I am instructed to go to Control and the mail icon and create another profile. It also says that I can click show profiles. I don't see a mail icon in Control Panel. I need help in changing the default from Outlook Address Book to Contacts.

pop e-mail accounts

Our users have 2 seperate pop e-mail accounts one is their default and one is secondary. I am trying to have it so that they can recieve e-mails sent to both e-mail addresses but I only want them the be able to send from one of the two e-mail addresses (the default). As it is now, if they get and e-mail that is sent to both e-mail address wich is working like it's supposed to but, when they hit reply it sends the e-mail from the e-mail address that it was sent to even when its the secondary e-mail.

I've tried to find a way to force all sent mail to go through the primary (default) account but i can't seem to find it.

Answer:Default E-mail Address for Replies

You should be able to configure the secondary account to match all of the outgoing server and user information used for the primary account.

What e-mail client software are they using?

Are both accounts on the same server?

As mentioned above, the default url icon in the address bar is missing. See attached picture.

I already tried to repair IE according to microsoft instructions with no results.

I also did this: "Open Control Panel and click on Folder Options. Select the File Types tab. Select HTMl and click on Advanced. At the top should be an option to change the icon. Make sure it has the IE logo. If not click change and locate the icon." Did not help.

Any other suggestions?

Answer:IE is not showing the IE default icon next to the URL in the address bar

See if this works:

1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer except one.

2. Right-click on the top Toolbar, uncheck: "Lock the Toolbars"

3. Place the cursor over the "Address" button and click (hold down)

4. It will change to a 4-way arrow, move or expand the Address Bar to desired location.

5. Right-click on the top Toolbar, check: "Lock the Toolbars"

6. Hold down the Ctrl key and close Internet Explorer.

1. In Internet Explorer Menu: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab

2. Scroll down half way to: Search from the address bar...

3. When searching.... select a mode. Click Apply.

Answer:How to change my IP Address and Default Gateway

You can connect to your router by connecting an ethernet cable from your computer to the router, then on the address line of your browser type "" (without the quotes) - this should let you into your router GUI where you can change the default password which is normally "admin" and "password" or "admin" and "admin".

Another quote - by Hacker 10 ? Security Tips, in 'NotSharingMyInfo a permantent email forwarding address' read: :

'Free disposable email address
There are many disposable email address (DEA) services but they are limited in time which means you have to get a new email every time you open an account and you have to use the webmail interface they provide you to retrieve email. NotSharingMyInfo will automatically send all email to your real email account and the forwarding address they give to you will not be deleted, you can reuse that very same address to recover passwords if necessary, a feature requiring the email you previously used for registration.

If you start to get spam you can cancel your NotSharingMyInfo email address asking for a cancellation email link to your real email address. For what it is worth, I backup My Thunderbird and Firefox with MozBackup great as it is to have tools such as Firefox and Thunderbird, backing them up can be a tedious process. MozBackup is a tiny program that makes saving and restoring all your bookmarks, extensions, and other personal settings a streamlined and stress-free experience. The program works with Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and Netscape on Windows platforms. It doesn't work with Firefox Portable, Sunbird, Songbird, or Flock, but for standard Windows iterations of the programs in the Mozilla suite, it's almost silly to not use this program.Close the program you want to back up, then runI used MozBackup recently to move all my Thunderbird email and settings and Firefox favorites etc. from one computer to another. No problems. It seems to me that your plan is sound, Import into Thunderbird, Backup, install Thunderbird on new computer and restore everything.Did I mention you can you can check or uncheck what you want and not backup what you don't want to backup.Hope this helpsRoger

Hi all,

I have a problem, a client had a setup with another mailserver (Mdaemon), that allowed him to do that.
Anyone knows how to do the same in Exchange? I thought about distribution lists, but I don't think it will work to have a dist. list called [email protected], with the members joe, martin and peter. You can't have an email address with the same name as a distribution list right?

How would you solve this?

Answer:How to forward all the email sent to an email address to 2 other (Exchange 2003)?

You could have [email protected] go to joe, martin, and peter and you can call it [email protected] if you like.

If you are talking about Joe having the e-mail address [email protected] and he wants e-mails to go to martin and peter as well, then you can do that, but it would work best by using Outlook to create the server side rule. Though I have a few issues with that, in that if Joe gets something non-work related it will go to the other two as well.

Also you could create [email protected] if Joe's e-mail address is [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected], or [email protected]

Hi, I would like to know if there are any way to catch and send IP address of someone who login to Such private email like yahoo, gmail, etc. to us ? Is there any web services give that service for free ? or we have to send script or file to target Laptop ? This metoe is important to find someone who missing ?Thank You

Answer:Email IP address from user login to spesific others email

This would be private information that Yahoo/Gmail would have. Probably the only legal way to do it would be to get them involved. Even then, the ip address may or may not assist you in location as that information on the particular ip address may also be behind another services system. If its a criminal matter, I would recommend going through proper authorities.mike

I went over all settiings with comcast and they are correct.

Does anyone know how to UNBLOCK an email address from not being able to be sent to? Or, is there a setting or workaround so that i can send from comcast to the email address?

Comcast has not told me it is blocked, but I can think of no other reason and I've read that they randomly block TONS of email domains for "spam" purposes.

-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier
Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

My friend has an iPhone (the 2G I think ... yeah super old) and when she sends a reply, I get a weird email address for her sender. It shows up as:

Q-2 zzqqzzzz122 Q1a2., E Q. Eye Qw

Answer:Weird email address received from email sent from an iPhone

From: "Q-2 zzqqzzzz122 Q1a2., E Q. Eye Qw "Click to expand...

I would guess that she created her gmail account on a desktop computer, and at some point was attempting to play a game in one window while the text she was generating was being entered into her gmail account profile name field.

Edit: removed the person's email address.

Someone sent me something really funny. It's all a few JPG.
But there is no attachment in my attachment folder of eudora, which means she didn't send me any attachment, so I assume she sent me a link on a graphics JPG.

I can't right click and save those JPG, and I can't seem to view the link assuming it is a link.

Any advice?

I have solved about every problem just by reading other people's questions (as the rules state) has worked every time until now. access violation at address 4003b648 in module rt170.bpl. write of address 0000000d I have not found this, I hope I didn't overlook it...I'm learning a great deal from this forum and I don't want to waste everybody's time...I'm still a newbie and the more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know sh**. Anyway, thanks for your help...this is a great place to learn.

Answer:access violation at address 4003b648 in module rt170.bpl. write of address 0000000d

Just my guess...Access violation...usually means a RAM/memory error.Address 4003b648 appears to be a memory address.Module rt170.bpl...seems to be part of IE.What's the related error data as reflected in Event Viewer?Take a look: answer by Rick Rogers (helpful MS-MVP) indicated that either updating the SP to the most current or reinstalling IE would be the answer.Louis

I am running xp pro. I can not get an internet connection through my ethernet card. When I hook up my modem through usb it works fine but unable to utilize my full download speed capabilities. Hooked the modem up via ethernet to laptop and it worked just fine. The only thing I can find wrong that I don't know how to fix or what is causing it is the fact that the physical address of the card comes up as the broadcast address (FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF). Very strange. Can someone please suggest a fix for this (and dont say update the drivers) although it could likely be something as simple that I have overlooked.

Answer:Solved: ethernet card shows broadcast address as physical address

I would like to hide the address bar but still be able to use the forward and back buttons and some other features.  I have add the rege key to remove nav bar but that removes everything.  Im using this in a citrix xendesktop environment.
I will deploy a site but don't want the users to navigate to other sites.  For instance go to our intranet site but stop them from going to our firewall gui page. So when they click on links I wont them to be able to go back to the previous page.
Any ideas?

Answer:IE 11 Hide Address bar but keep Forward and Back buttons or disable typing in address bar

It's designed by default, and we cannot only hide address bar. Thanks for your understanding.

The problem was found when I was using the TuneUp DiskCleaner to scan the hard drive labled F (the "File" drive). The scanning was stopped when it reached a folder (a folder that contains html pages that someone sent to me and I saved there), and a error message popped up saying "Access violation at address 019C44F3. Read of address 83C70A78."

I repeated the scanning and the exactly same thing happened -- even the error address reported was the same.

I tried to delete the folder from the explorer window. But everytime after I press the "delete" button, the explorer just breaks down, while that folder remains there the next time I open the explorer. The same thing happens in when I tried to delete it in the safe mode.

Strangely, I was able to rename the folder. It just can't be deleted.

Since everytime the same error address was reported, I assumed there could be some defect with the hard drive. So I launched a thorough scan of the F drive using TuneUp Disk Doctor, which reached the deepest level by checking every 512 bytes sector. The scan took about 20 minutes, but nothing wrong was found.

Can any one help me figure out what's wrong? Thanks.

Answer:Access violation at address 019C44F3. Read of address 83C70A78.(RESOLVED)

Hi there and welcome to TSF.
First, check the permissions on the folder. Right click on it then select properties. Make sure the folder isn't "read-only". If you still can't delete it, try using the utility MoveonBoot. You can download it from this site.. This allows you to mark the folder for removal next time you reboot.

I have IE8, Windows Vista and Windows Mail, which shows as my default mail and only email address.
I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.

Is downloading "Windows Live" and uninstalling my "Windows Mail" a solution?
I have all my mail forwarded to Hotmail, so I wouldn't lose saved messages.
Thanks for any help.

Answer:Change default mail address to Hotmail

You don't need to (nor would it be would it be wise) to remove windows mail, just stop using it. If you use Windows Live mail which you can download from Essentials - Windows Live you will be able to setup your hotmail account straight away once it is installed.

If you have any questions just ask.

Here's a strange one. About 2 months back I'd gotten into an argument and subsequently banned a member from a forum I'd administered. Around the same time I started to experience strange instability problems with my net connection dropping and my modem switching itself off. I'd used ZoneAlarm to see that I was getting port floods from some place in either Australia or China. Thinking I might have been hacked, I changed my mac address on my modem which in turn changed my IP address, and my connection problems suddenly stopped.
Flash forward 2 months. I did a reformat of WinXP, which defaulted my mac address/ip address, and my connection is still dropping after this time had passed. I quickly changed my mac address to something random and my connection is rock solid again. If I switch it back to it's default Mac address then my connection will stop responding any my modem will cycle itself off and on. Anyone know what could be causing it to do this?

I'm not using any routers at the moment and just use the default XP firewall.

Edit: Oh yeah. I should say that I power off the modem when I change the mac address so I'm not doing something stupid like changing it and expecting it to work without allowing the modem to reset.

Answer:Default MAC address causes modem to lose connection

I think you're paying the "you touched it last, you broke it card".

It's probably one of those unrelated coincidences.

Whenever I log onto the internet, the page which is first displayed by Internet Explorer is not the designated one. When i change it to what it is supposed to be, though, it just changes back by the next day. I did a quick search on google, and it said that this is caused by the JS.Seeker virus. I went onto a website that has a solution to this problem, and it said that certain files would be in my \Windows folder. They aren't there though. Any help would be much appreciated

Answer:Unexpected change of default home address

Symantec has a good page on this click hereAs the virus has been included in its definitions list since Oct 1st it suggests that your AV is not up to date. Update it and if necessary resubscribe.

If this isn't the correct forum for this question, please send me packing...I have tried both of the suggestions offered here to remove as the default search engine when entering a search string in the address bar of FireFox 3.6.Both suggestions (manually changing the keyword.url in FF about:config and running the utility provided by work for a short time. I set FF up to use Google as the default search engine but within "some time" - could be days, could be weeks - it reverts back to must be some registry entry or some software on my system that keeps changing the setting back to because when I look at the keyword.url string, it's been changed.Does anybody have any ideas on where I should look next? Thanks!Posting Tip: Before posting Data or VBA Code, read this How-To.

Answer:Default Search Engine Via FireFox Address Bar

In your firefox search box there is a little drop down arrow on the left.Click on the arrow and select "Manage Search Engines...."A "Manage Search Engine List" window will open.Select the one you want to remove and then click on the Remove button.___________________________________________? For the last 2 days, I cannot access the Internet because upon startup I lose the 'Default Gateway' address, therefore, I have to release the 'ipconfig' and renew it all the time. The cable company doesn't have a solution either.

P.S. I've turned off my MS updates also.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

I've searched the registry, tried the IE options menus, to no avail. Any word or phrase typed into the address bar comes back using Google China. Have no idea how this was configured. Mal-Ware and Ad-Ware scans reveal nothing.

Answer:IE7 address bar search - default is Google China!
