Preferred Solution: *Please Help* i cannot edit my registry

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: *Please Help* i cannot edit my registry

What version of windows are you using? That registry editing has been disabled can be a sign of a virus infection. It might be a good idea to scan your computer with an up to date anti virus program. You can also try an online AV scanner like Kaspersky.

Question: W2K registry edit

I am trying to modify the BootExecute entry in the registry back to its default after changing it to autocheck autochk /k:C* (how did I do this?)I think the default value is autocheck autochk * Any ideas how to do this as when I right click on Modify it is in numerical?

Answer:W2K registry edit

Hkey_local_machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\ BootExecute should be of type REG_MULTI_SZ, not a numerical type. The value should indeed be "autocheck autochk *". (Have a look at this knowledgebase article.) I would be inclined to delete the key and recreate it with the correct data type and value. But the usuual caveats about editing the registry apply - make sure that you have a backup and you do this at your own risk.

I have XP Professional and every time I go to Run/regedit/OK I get the following message :"This application failed to start because clb.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I've tried reinstalling/repairing XP but get the same message. I've been to click here for the appropriate dll file but the site seems to be very unclear as to what to do from there. I've tried double-clicking, copying, downloading but nothing seems to work. I assume it goes in the System32 folder.Thank you for any advice.

Answer:Can't edit registry

It is in my System32 folder.

I have XP Professional and every time I go to Run/regedit/OK I get the following message :"This application failed to start because clb.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."I've tried reinstalling/repairing XP but get the same message. I've tried looking for the relevant dll file but have only found a Russian version. Where's a good place to look and where exactly does it go if I do find it?Could the problem lie elsewhere?Thank you for any advice.

Answer:Can't edit registry

If I search my registry for clb.dll, the results point to 'hp Scanner', if this is any help.

Question: registry edit help

i found this fix i need to add to my registry.. i'm trying to make thumbnails appear in explorer on my vista 64 system.. supposedly this fixes the problem.. but i need someone to explain how to do all this stuff.. please break it down step by step for me please

This is the PS reg file, you can edit the AI reg file to do the same thing. Basically, put Wow6432Node before any and all CLSID references:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.psd\ShellEx]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.psd\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@=?{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}]
@=?Photoshop Icon Handler?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}\InProcServer32]
@=?C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\PSICON.DLL?
?ThreadingModel?=?Apartment?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}\MiscStatus]
?IconBits?=?1″

Answer:registry edit help

You found it? Where? On the internet? Its a fix for thumbnail on x64 are you sure? Why not ask a question like: How do I make thumbnails appear in Explore? I use Vista x64.

I may be wrong but I doubt anyone would tell you how to install a reg file they didn't know the source of. You are definitely on the correct website. TSF guys won't have a problem helping you with anything you might ask. The key is to ask. If you were an auto mechanic and I brought you a bunch of parts and said "Here, these are suppose to fix my car, tell me where they go and how to put them on." What would you say? Please, I am not being mean toward you yimmortal but working inside the registry is comparable to "open skull brain surgery". One mistake and it will be more than thumbnails that don't appear in explore.
