I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Stretched Graphics

Do you know what the "native resolution" of the screen is?This is the resolution the screen was designed to be used at, because of the way LCD displays are made they do't look right at any other resolution.Try changing the resolution to every value from 1280x800 upwards and see which one looks right - this is the native resolution. However, if you know it, just change the reoslution to that.

So my friend got a Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBD [model number 80QQ] roughly a year ago, and recently came to me with a problem that started up a week prior. From the pictures she sent me and a few screen-sharing sessions, it seems there is some kind of graphical issue where the icons and text get stretched out every time something is clicked or selected. This quickly turns everything unreadable (pictures attached), but the laptop still seems to be able to function largely, despite being largely unintelligible.

I hadn't run into this issue before and I surmised it was a graphics card [Intel HD Graphics 5500] issue. I went on to walked her through the steps of updating and/or replacing her graphics card driver, but it didn't seem to correct the issue. I also noticed that during an attempted to restart the driver, the problem persisted while the current driver was disabled. I was wondering if anyone would know how to address this problem before I send her off to a repair shop for a pricey evaluation and repair.

I have a Satellite C660-1CQ laptop.

After I upgraded to windows 10, the screen, icons, desktop images are horizontally stretched. (It looks the same like the safe mode graphics). I am using it in normal mode but still everything is like safe mode. everything is working fine but the computer totally looks like safe mode.

And the computer seems a little slow now and fan has started making loud noise.

Answer:Satellite C660-1CQ - graphics quite horizantally stretched after installing Win10

I think your notebook model is not supported for Win10 so it is possible that you will be faced with some issues. Can you change display resolution?

Hi all, I recently had a computer crash and unfortunately had to "factory reset" it to restore it. Now the problem is my graphics and words are out of whack, they appear "stretched". (The aspect ratio I guess?). Anyways, I've been desperately trying to solve this problem and get everything on the screen back to the way it looked (perfect) before the crash. It is a Dell desktop, windows vista, and I believe I'm running windows 8? I haven't been able to figure out or fix this problem as I'm not that computer savvy, and I don't want to make it any worse. Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated in fixing this problem.

Thank you.

Hi,I'm working in my Dell Latitude D820, and have an NVIDIA QUADRO NVS 110 installed.  It gives me overall great performance, but when it comes to web browsing, picturen on the internet always come our skewed or as if you stretched them.  As if the display was supposed to be for a normal screen, but you widened it to fit a widescreen.  If I save an image from the internet and then open it with any other program, it comes out OK, it's only as I view images online.what can I do about this?

This has happened before, and the problem would fix itself after I retarted the computer, but I've restarted it several times, fixed some issues pertaining to installing updates, and my icons, my background, font, everything is just stretched out.

Answer:why does everything look stretched out?

your display resolution is probably set wrong.

try adjusting the resolution in display propertied by right clicking the desktop in vista or windows 7 and selecting screen resolution or in xp select properties then go to screen resolution.

change it to something that looks better for you, there should be a preview window to show you what it will look like...ish.

just make sure it's set to ask for confirmation on changes before it applies so you don't set it to high and end up not being able to see anything due to your monitor not supporting that resolution.

in windows vista or 7 there will be a resolution setting with (native) next to it, you should click that one.

I am trying to install a bigger HDD (160GB) to an old machine and set it as Master. The machine currently has a 10GB HDD and is crammed. When I initially installed the HDD as a slave XP recognised its existence and showed the New Hardware window with the make and model and off it went with a message - Ready to use. When I go into have a look in Hardware Manager its there okay but I cannot see it anywhere else. Its not showing in My Computer or anywhere. I have it on the same ribbon (middle not end) as the original HDD.The BIOS is from a 2001 upgrade and the MoBo is a First International Computers AD11. The machine has XP2 S2 on it.I bought the HDD on eBay and it came without any software etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe I have Windows XP. The computer crashed and someone got it going again for me but lost most everything. When I turn on the computer, everthing looks stretched out. The internet page does not fill up the whole screen. Pictures and faces and icons look thin and stretched out. I can no longer get my Printmaster 10 (I know that it's old) to load on this computer. It is just a black square. I can't get the Microsoft Excel to open anything Excel, though I can type and print in Microsoft Word. I am not real computer saavy, but I do use one every day.

It sounds like the video display properties are set incorrectly. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties. Click the Settings tab and let us know what the "Screen Resolution" is. I suspect you will want something like 1024x768.

When I turned on my pc today, the screen is all stretched out looking. I don't believe it's my monitor, because my startup splash screen looks normal. I have windows 10 home on a custom built computer. Here's what I've tried but none have worked:
changing the screen resolution (it was on the recommended setting but I tried several others). The only one where it looked normal had wide black bars on both sides of the screen.
system restore to yesterday evening when it was normal
updated the graphics driver (intel integrated graphics)
uninstalled the graphics driver and rebooted
fn key plus space (this does nothing at all)

I checked my windows update history and there were none for the past few days.

attaching a screen shot of my system information. Please help.

Question: Stretched Display

Ever since putting in a new graphics card (Nvidia GTS 450) my resolution has been stretched.  Previously, my 17" monitor displayed a 144 X 900 resolution perfectly.  Now, a 1440 X 900 resolution makes a perfect circle taller.  This is the native resolution for my monitor.  Every possible, displayable resolution either yields a tall circle, or a wide circle.  The best I can get is with 1280 X 1024 (slightly wide circle).  I've updated all drivers.  I have played around in the NVidia control panel, changing the scaling mode without any change, as well as looking through all the options in the windows control panel.  I have also changed my monitor's cable from VGA to DVI.  Interestingly, with a VGA cable, my computer thinks 1280 X 1024 is the native resolution of my monitor.  Still, either configuration gives the same result, a skewed picture.Again, before the new graphics card, everything was fine on 1440 X 900.  Now, no possible resolution gives a picture that is not skewed.Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Stretched Display

Have you considered the the monitor itself?Replacing a graphics card can cause complications resulting in instability if running with old drivers, even if you updated them. Furthermore, you cannot overwrite and/or assumed that those drivers will be stable with the new GPU. You say you updated all the drivers, but its recommended that you uninstall the drivers of the past GPU and install the new drivers from the manufacturers site, not Nvidia's site.Try using Driver Sweeper to remove the old drivers and then install the new drivers for the new card.

I cut my computer off and when I turned it on the next day, the items on the screen look wider.  I have not changed anything. I went to play Hearts and when I opened games, all the cards are much shorter and fatter.  The icons on the task bar are fatter, on the web things look fatter. I tried changing resolution (is at 1280 x 1024) and that didn't help.  I've got Vista, home edition, not premier home ed.  I tried adjusting the monitor (widescreen monitor) and anything else I could think of, which is not much, but nothing works.  I did have to move the screen to the left with the monitor buttons because the screen wouldn't even show the x at the top right corner, or the scroll down bar.  I am one of those people in my early 60's, have had a computer for 12 years, and still "don't get it".  So if you think you can help me, could you try to make the answer easy for me to understand?  I'd appreciate any help you can offer as I don't like it like this.  I just now glanced at the top of the page and the back button is way fatter also and there seems to be two slight lines running down the left edge of it to the bottom of the page. They are very faint, hardly see them, but they are there.  I just don't understand how it could have changed from just turning it off and back on the next day.  It has never done this before.

Answer:Please help me!! All my photos are stretched!

Changing your screen resolution probably has everything to do with it. I suspect you have set it to a resolution for wide screen and you aren't/werent using a wide screen monitor, thus it's stretching it out to widescreen format

Reset DPI.
Go to search type device manager; update graphics and monitor driver.

Run a full anti virus scan, download and run a full scan with malwarebytes.

Change size of webpage

Recently, I experienced a similar problem it was due to a monitor driver update. I knew what the problem was, immediatley, because I set my windows update to notify and not install. The problem happened as soon as I installed.

Hi...good mng.

My display is stretched. how can I overcome this situation?

Thanks in Advance
vinesh

Answer:stretched display

It may be that the "display resolution" is at the wrong setting for the size of your monitor, in which case you need to select a different resolution in the Windows Display Properties.
This page explains how to do that: Screen Resolution Setting - How to Adjust the Screen Resolution Setting in Windows XP

If it's already set at the correct resolution, then it may be the monitor itself needs adjusting, using the control buttons on the monitor. As different monitors have different methods of adjustment I can't explain exactly how to adjust it.
Your monitor's user manual should show you how to do it.

Answer:whole page has stretched

Try changing the resolution

Right click on your desktop, then resolution.

I would also check for any virus or malware. If it is the resolution, this should not happen.

You may also want to download and try malwarebytes, to make sure there is no malware on your computer.

Question: Stretched Screen

Having a very annoying problem with my screen...when i start windows the desktop is stretched across as if i have expanded the screen with the osd. To see my clock i have to move across with the OSD and to use the start bar i do the opposite.

The computer is a job i quickly put together myself and has a Geforce 4 MX440, and a packard bell A720 monitor. Everything has the newest drivers possible and i have direct x 9.0c.

Things i've tried is changing the resolution...no effect same problem.
Changing the OSD, the horizontal stretch part has no effect for either stretching it further or less.
Also messed around with a few other settings, none of which had any effect.

Help would be appreciated....thanks

Answer:Stretched Screen

Check for a virtual desktop setting in the Geforce configuration. I'm not sure exactly where it is in there though. Display properties -> settings tab -> advanced button.

Take a look around in there. If I understand your problem correctly, that's most likely the problem.

Question: Stretched screen

I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right section, but I saw another monitor question here, so decided to post here.

I turned on my pc and the screen kept jumping between fitting the screen, and being really stretched. I restarted and ever since it has been stretched too wide for the screen. At first I could drag the window to view text on either side, but now I can't do that.

I tried to take a screen shot, but it showed up fine on there, so I'll try to describe what I can see.

I can just see the edge of the start button on the left hand side, and I can't see the clock at all on the right hand side, but I can see the arrow that is hiding icons. I have IE7, and at the top of the window, I can't see 'file' etc, but I can see the list starting from 'view'.

I have tried adjusting the monitor using the buttons, but that made no change. I tried right clicking on the desktop and going to settings and changing something there, as described on another site, but it didn't help.

Also, the middle of the screen seems to bend in, while the top and bottom edges stretch right out.

Sorry I'm not too great at describing it! I'm a beginner at computers, so I don't know 'technical speak'. I would be extremely grateful for any help anyone can offer. Thank you.

Some video cards can detect the Monitor and adjust it. Those monitors are plug-in-play. Check Acer site for the driver, if not then set the ATI to 16:9 wide screen or 1440x1280. Make sure that the ATI can handle these modes. Before you change the screen size. If you make a mistake you can always go into the safe mode press last known instead.

Also update the driver for ATI if it doesn't work get another video card.

Hiya, new to this forum and wasn't sure what section to put this in so just went for General
My laptop recently died, some sort of problem with the hardrive and I gave to a friend of the family to be fixed. He installed a new hard drive into the laptop, and I've just got it back and everything seems to be working fine except the screen is really stretched out, and it seems a little blurry. I've played about with the resolution and display settings with no luck. Any ideas?
The guy had to reinstall windows onto my new hardrive, and I've noticed its windows 32 bit, whereas before it was windows 64 bit, and my laptop screen is pretty big - 17.3 inches i think, maybe this has something to do with it?
Any help would be appreciated. It wouldn't bother me too much, except all photos and videos are also stretched. Can give a screenshot too if you want.
Thanks, Ben.

Answer:Screen Stretched out/Resolution Out....how to fix?

HI Ben and welcome to the Forum. Its a pity that the 64bit version wasn't loaded especially if you have more than 4GB RAM installed! I doubt the 32bit version is the cause of the distorted screen, this is more likely to be a video driver probelm (IMHO). Prhaps the 64bit version of the driver got installed. Whats the make and model number of the laptop and ewe can look for a better driver. It would be helpful if you would complete your system specs as it is difficult to come to any conclusion without the full spec of the machine?
You can download and run Belarc Adviser to get the full system specs and then copy and paste the details into the spec section of the User Control Panel (Link at top of this Forum)

When I got back there was a multiple choice message asking whether I wanted to install files or repair. I clicked repair and let it go through the process, which took about 10 mins. After completion I restarted. Since that time the pages seem to be stretched horizontally, but they seem to be ok vertically. Help please.
Thank you in advance.

Answer:Pages look stretched. Horizontal ok.

Right Click your Screen and check your Display Settings

I manage a site that has two data centers in separate buildings connected via single-mode fiber, the fiber run is less than 300 meters so latency is on par with a LAN (<1ms). We have a stretched VMware cluster spanning across those two sites backed by a NetApp metrocluster storage system. Currently we have two pairs of S4810's for switching and routing at each datacenter. One pair is dedicated to LAN services (VM traffic, clients, endpoints, access layer connections, etc) and the other pair is for NFS storage and vMotion traffic originating from our VMware ESXi hosts and NetApp storage systems. These two separate pairs are currently airgapped with no connection whatsoever between LAN and SAN switches. What I need to do is connect these two separate switching fabrics together.

The current layout with the two separate fabrics with the VLT domains and bridge priorities configured as is: http://i.imgur.com/FXUfVuj.png?1

The network topology of what I am proposing to connect the two fabrics together, with unique VLT domain ID's for each stack: http://i.imgur.com/cEitx8N.png

Do any of you see any issue's with STP in my proposed layout? Should I keep incrementing the bridge priorities for the new switches being brought into the LAN fabric? (ie 16384, 20480, etc.) Do you know if I can reconfigure VLT domain ID's without disruption?

I have it on 1280x1024 which is what I thought I had it on before I loaded Windows 7 on, but everything seems stretched for some reason. Can anyone offer any advice please? Thank you. Jamie.

Iv looked hard but cant work this out.

Sometime ago I was looking at something on the screen and must have hit a key or two and the screen stretched out, so now rifles look really long etc. Apparently pets cats do this a bit, walking cross the keyboard. I see the various commands with the windows key and another key or two, but no luck yet returning it to normal. Screen Resolution doesn't help, it will only go high or low, and not as high as it should.

A clue might be, to turn on Wi-Fi, I only need to press the wi-fi light, I dont have to press the FN and F8 together. (Got a Wifi driver too)

Any idea which keys to press to get in back to normal?

Hello,
Normally when I log into my account, my desktop will appear stretched out but then it fixes it and briefly displays a message that says 'scrolling is now inactive'. Since yesterday, when I now log in the desktop still appears stretched out and and all my windows are also. Any suggestions?

Answer:Stretched Out Desktop and Windows

This is what it looks like...not a great picture but you can maybe see how the things to the side are really stretched out. I'll see if I can get some other pictures if that helps.

Please help! I am using a Digital Research flatbed scanner with ScanOffix software. I think I have resolved the inherent software issues - downloading an update and patch, etc. However, when I was FINALLY able to scan a photo, the image was all stretched out! For example, the photo of a person looks like a fun house mirror. This only happens to the image going vertically. I have tried scanning a text document, same thing. I didn't change any of the settings. I can't seem to find help for this problem anywhere - in the ScanOffix manual, the Digital Research website, etc. If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE help!

Answer:Scanned Photos are stretched out!

Can you try another program for scanning? Once the drivers are installed, pretty much any graphic program with an Aquire option will scan.

This will help us figure out where the problem is actually coming from.

Maybe irfanview, for instance:

(Backround:I have an hp pavilion dv9000. I was trying to fix my monitor's display b/c it was too stretched out..I opened control panel, personalize, display settings, and played around with the 1 and 2 monitor thing and I think that screwed my monitor up somehow.)Main Question: The monitor display on my screen is stretched past the edges of my monitor, in both directions. I can't see the icons on the left side of my screen. Because of this, I can't change the display settings because when I click on the display tab to maximize it, it maximizes off to the right side of my screen, past the edges of my monitor. I know it does that because when I minimize it using the tab it flies over from the right side.  So now I can't use internet, microsoft word, etc, because the tabs fly over to the right side of my screen past the edge. Is there any way I can fix this by pressing buttons on my keyboard or something? Or do you think theres another reason why the tabs are icons arent showing up, like maybe I clicked "hide tabs" by accident or something? Or is this a problem I have to call HP about?

Answer:Monitor problem-too stretched out!

In games that stress the system (oblivion, darkstar one, even stronghold 2) I get wildly stretched polygons that take up much of the screen. Sometimes they are attached to the center of the screen.

Lowering the res makes it take longer for them to pop up, and eliminates it in some games (dark messiah demo).

Turning on the windows xp /3GB flag in the boot up ini changes the nature of the problem to texture glitches that constantly shift. This causes the texture glitches in games that don't normally exhibit the stretched polygons, but also prevents darkstar one from crashing to a hard reboot.

I've tried cat 6.4, cat 6.7, a custom cat 6.5 for nvidia mb probs, and this omega driver.

So does anyone who was bored enough to read this far have any ideas?

There are no system restore points at all. I've tried resetting the resolution but it stays the same. I've also tried scanning for viruses, there were none. I deleted all recent downloads to make sure they hadn't modified this and that didn't fix. Updating the graphics driver was too much for the laptop, it just refused to turn on normally and I had to enter safe mode and reverse that.

Hi

I have to grin reading your message ;)
Anyway, I will try to help you?. I assume you have enabled a special graphic option which should be found in the graphic card properties -> advanced settings

One question; Do you have a Intel graphic card?

If yes try to access the graphic card properties and ?Advanced settings?.
There go to the ?Intel Graphic Media Accelerator?.

In the ?device? tab please check if the option ?Full Screen? (No border) was chosen and take a look into the ?Intel Zoom Utility?. Just press the button.

Hi my screen resolution is set at recommended I tried fiddling with it to see if that would help still it does not. The scaling is way off. I even went as far as factory resetting my computer that still does not help. The resolution the icons and images are subtle but Noticeably bigger and seems blurry. Websites that are supposed to have a center layout are not they seem off kilter and are pushed more to the left and everything seems bigger. My toddler daughter was playing with the keyboard and since then the resolution is not the same I tried most everything!! I even factory reset. What can I do?? Please help me if you know of anything I can do to help change/reset this!

Hi All,
I'm using an iPhone 4 and connecting it to an old Hitachi tube tv using an apple composite AV cable. When I try to play an MP4 movie it does not display in widescreen format and looks stretched vertically. When I use my phone to play Netflix or Youtube or other videos it displays in widescreen aspect ratio. Also, when I play other videos from the web the message on my phone says "TV Connected. This video is playing on the TV". There is a picture of a TV and both the text and outline of the TV are white. However when I play an MP4 the image of the TV in the message is outlined in blue.

Also when I switch to regular TV broadcast it displays in widescreen. There is a TV out setting on the iPhone where you can toggle either widescreen on/off or NTSC/PAL. I tried toggling both but no help.

Thanks,
Leroy

We have two login names on my wife's laptop. When I sign in, there are no problems. But when she signs in, her screen appears stretched. Everything on the screen is visible (that is, the stretching isn't pulling content off the screen) but it looks the way it would look if we could pull both sides of the screen. It looks terrible, and we have no idea how it got like this. When she boots up for the first time, it comes up normal, then flashes and becomes stretched and distorted. Then whenever she starts back up after standby, it's consistently distorted.

It isn't a question of screen resolution; any other setting we've tried looks bad in some other way.

Any theories?

Thanks.

Answer:Screen appears stretched

Good Afternoon TWoods, it sounds like some screen setting difference in her account.
If you can't determine what it is that is causing the problem you might simply delete her account and after several reboots open a new one for her or open anonther account under a different login for her to test if that is the problem.

It doesn't seem like you have the correct resolution prior to your game freezing.

Click on Start and in the Start search bar type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

When Device Manager has launched, double-click on Display adapters.

What does it say underneath Display adapters and do you see a yellow exclamation point?

OK gang, here is the deal.

Last week I left my IBM T42 charging overnight with a stack of papers on the keyboard. As you all probably know, and I found out, the LCD display was ruined as a result. I jumped on eBay and found a replacement screen to fit the 15" display. After installing the "new" screen and turning the unit on, I am left with an odd display of what appear to be 3 different screen segments. I have no taskbar within the viewable area and all text and images are heavily vertically skewed. I have tried everything I can withing the display properties dialog box, but to no avail. Any ideas??

Normally when I save a word file in office 07, Vista seems to take a snapshot and use it as a thumbnail for the file. So most of my thumbnails look like little pices of 8 x 11 pages. Here is the bug, if I insert a small picture into the same docx file, and resave, the thumbnail looks like its been stretched into a landscape mode with pic distored. It dose not rotate, it just stretches the image. The only fix I have found so far is to uninstall office and reinstall which is not exatly a good solution. Everything will work fin for a while then out of the blue, my icons from all new saved work will be stretched out.

Already tried deleting the database didnt work just rebuilt distored. Any ideas?

Answer:Vista preview Icon Stretched?

I don't know if this will work, because it's not really related, but it's worth a try -- (and it's easy to do and undo). . . Right-click on your Desktop, select Personalize, and go to Desktop Background. At the bottom of the screen are three links for 1. stretching the image,
2. having multiple copies of the image on the Desktop, and 3. having the image shown at its (assumedly) normal size. Make sure # 1 is UNchecked and # 3 is checked.

(I was hoping that the My Pictures section and the Screen Saver section would have the same or similar options, but they don't seem to --- unless I'm not seeing them.)

If this works, you can go into your favorite photo editing app and increase or decrease the size of that image so it looks the way you want it to in the thumbnail. In fact, now that I think about it, even if it doesn't work, you can still try changing the size and/or shape of the image in the photo editing app!

Are you referring to the picture on your desktop as wallpaper? If it is, then it is easy to change. If you are using Vista, Right click on an empty space anywhere in your desktopClick PersonalizeClick Desktop backgroundAt the bottom, there are 3 options for  "How should the picture be positioned?"First one is "Fit to Screen", if the original picture(wallpaper) is smaller than the screen, it will be stretched like the one on your screenTo correct this, click the second option which is "Tile" or the third one, "Center" Hope this solution is what you're looking for.

I cannot get this monitor out of stretched display mode. Specs:
GeForce FX 5500, P4 2.4Ghz, Win XP home

I've used the latest Nvidia driver, an old one (6.14.10.9371), and Windows' native drivers for it. The old drivers and Windows only offer 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 all of which stretch the screen. The newest drivers offer a bunch of 16:9 ratio resolutions, but the same thing happens the screen remains stretched and sometimes the display goes beyond the edges.

Funny thing is, I have an identically specced computer, the only difference being it has an E2200 monitor, and it gets 1440x900 flawlessly. Same old Nvidia driver (6.14.10.9371) as well.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I called the shop I bought it off and they swear blind it's a driver issue. It probably is, but it boggles my mind why the same driver works like a charm with the E2200HD, when apprently it and the T2200HD are the same except for the former has built in sound.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use two identical monitors with a dual matrox p60 video card and windows xpSP1 home.

I have always been able to stretch any .jpg to span/stretch accross the two monitors until now.

When I choose stretch from within the display properties then click apply, the image will stretch for an instant, then snap back to center screen.
I have tried editing the registry to "wallpaper style" value 3, then restart and the image will span/stretch correctly, BUT when I choose a diferent image as wallpaper, the problem starts all over again and I have to go back and edit the registry again.

Any sugguestions?

Thanks in advance as always.

Hi all,

I have installed Windows 10 Pro installed in UEFI mode. On start up, the blue Windows logo is slightly stretched and appears to be displayed at an incorrect resolution. Is there a way to fix this. Even the little dots that go round for a few seconds are in a slightly oval pattern. This is only during the initial boot process, once at the login screen everything is normal. I am running the latest GPU driver for my GTX980Ti.

My monitor is 27 inch 2560x1440.

Can I fix this, or is it something I must just live with? I have a few other Win 10 machines and this is the only one that displays the starting logo incorrectly.

Thanks!

I have a couple apps I created in VB a while ago (1 is a year old, the other is 4) that have imageboxes in them with the stretched property = true. On my W2k Pro SP4 machine, these images do not show in runtime. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this and if there is a fix, either for my app or for the OS.

Happy Holidays.

Hey, as you can see in this pic thier is a picture titled ACU which appears to be a camoflauge pattern.

However when I click on ACU it appears to be stretched as you can see in this pic.

So how can I stop this from happening?

Note: Resizing the image does not seem to work.

Thanks a bunch!

Answer:Picture becomes stretched when selected prob.

Can you upload such a picture, so that we may have a look ?

Hi,
The boot loader screen is stretched, would like to see the compact version of same. I was here before I think and was able to toggle between the two at boot (multi-boot) with keyboard keys and then subsequent boots kept this selection. I forgot how. This has occurred with windows 10 upgrade to a partition on the same disk.
I still use windows 7 often and would like to view compact boot splash screen again.
Thanks,
Keith

Could anybody tell me why when I was looking at my e-mail messages yesterday, that when I scrolled down the page the letters scrolled down with me I had what you would call a page with very long and wide letters. You could not see any of the words and then the page went completely black. I did a anti-virus scan on it today and no viruses. Please let me know what this might have been. I hope I have explained this to you so you sort of understand the problem I am having.

thanks

Hello,

I have a widescreen equium laptop and I am having problems with the screen. It seems to have stretched and everything looks wider on the screen.

Can anyone help me to reverse this?

I did use a sv cable to attach my computer to my TV the other night and it seems to have gone funny after that.

Thanks for your help

Answer:Stretched screen on Equium - How can I set it back?

Hi

Did you try to change the screen resolution???
Simply check the settings in the graphic properties. (right click on the desktop and choose properties).
There you should select the last tab?

PS: Could you please post your notebook name?

Whenever i try to send a picture taken with the inner camera via Whatsapp, it stretches, in that it is not scaled as normal. If i rotate the camera it sort of elongates the shapes, or it stretches them. The phone camera works normally. I tried reinstalling to no avail.
I am using a Lumia 640 and haven't had any recent updates to the soft.
Does someone know what is causing this and how can it be fixed?

I registered myself as a 'beginner' and now I'm thinking 'illiterate' would have been more accurate. If I can fix this, I will be sooo excited.

I don't know how I made the change, but all of a sudden everything on my screen was magnified ginormously. I figured out how to change the resolution, but then ended up getting everthing small and vertically tall. When I go into settings to try to put it back the window is so tall I cannot get down to click on the "apply" button. How do I make the changes now that I can't get to the apply button? And what are good settings to select? I don't know where to set my DPI & resolution on my Dell Inspiron 700m (Windows XP)

Thanks for any help.

When I play games [designed for 800x600 resolution] they stretch to fit my resolution [1280x800]. I have enabled Video Expansion [not totally clear on this feature] and have played with the settings for the game [Maple Story]. Neither of these options fixed the problem! Games stretch!!... So here I am asking you experts Keep up the good work!

I should preface this by saying I'm not sure if this is the right place for this and my computer knowledge is very limited. I'm sorry if my information isn't adequate enough.

Recently the display of my laptop (HP Pavillion Entertainment PC) has become horizontally stretched. I've played around with all the control panel settings, tried adjusting resolution, etc. I didn't touch any display settings before this issue came about. I don't think any of that is the problem. Plus, I'm having other symptoms, like issues with internet connection, lower performance, etc.

I'm almost sure the problem started after Windows installed updates the other day. I'm thinking my video driver may have been corrupted somehow, but I'm not positive. Again, I've exhausted all other options but this one, so I'm hoping that's the problem and I can fix it. Does it sound like it could be the video driver? If so, could someone give me a step by step as to how to reinstall it? (Again, my knowledge is very limited.)

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Stretched Display - Video Driver?

Hi neverever, welcome to the board.

Video driver from update a lots of time are problematic. Try to avoid if you can.

Here are two options you may try. First roll back your driver to the previous one and second, restore system to a restore point prior the update.

Hope this helps.

Hi all I'm new here this is my first post so go easy :P My girlfriends laptop was going not so good for a while so her brother formatted it and reinstalled windows vista. Now the laptop is quicker but the screen is stretched out like crazy. I'm thinking I need to install video card drivers but I cant for the life of me find drivers for her video card anywhere, even on the Acer website.

The laptop is a acer aspire5742. I would like to know what I can do to get the screen resolution corrected. Do I need new drivers? Can anything else be done? I'm not computer illiterate but i'm definitely no guru... Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

Answer:W500 display stretched after the downgrade to xp

If using ATI graphics, you have to install this one. If using Intel graphics, you have to install this one. Sometimes the driver is extracted to a directory within the local drive. You have to locate the driver, and run the setup file in order for the installation to start. Let us know if this helps.

I'm not sure what has happened but recently in the last few games I've installed I've noticed a disturbing trend. Characters and images in the game have holes in them. Chunks are missing from character's faces or body where I can see through them. Also some boxes for example are stretched out thin like a rope instead of being a box! It's really weird and I don't know why. I've checked my video card updates and everything is now up to date but the problem is still not solved. I recently bought a new monitor and I'm thinking maybe that might be the problem. My monitor resolution is set high in widescreen mode and though the options are available for these games maybe that is the problem? Please help! I hate playing these games when my character's hands are strangely touching or environments are all weird.
My specs are 7600 Geforce Video
Win XP Prof
2.4 Pentium
2 gigs RAM
and my monitor is a 24 in. widescreen LCD
Thanks!!!!

Answer:Gaps/Holes/Stretched Images...

It sound like the video card may have a problem.
Have you tried to update the drivers?
Now the obvious question, have you tried to adjust the monitor resolution to see if that solves the problem? maybe that will narrow down the problem?

I just put a new hard drive in my computer and ever since reinstalling windows everything is stretched. It looks as though the screen is formatted for a normal monitor not a widescreen one. I think i may have used a disc that came with another computer which im sure caused the problem but im kind of surprised it is so difficult to fix. None of the other choices in screen resolutions are any better.
