Convert a wired digital projector to bluetooth

Question: Convert a wired digital projector to bluetooth

Is it possible to connect a wired digital projector to a laptop via bluetooth?

Relevance 100%
Preferred Solution: Convert a wired digital projector to bluetooth

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Convert a wired digital projector to bluetooth

If the digital projector has bluetooth capabilities i would say yes...there are adapters as well...More info on the components and someone will be along shortly to assist.

Is there any software that will convert mp4 files to avi so that my Epson projector will play them?
I tried using VLC to convert to avi but the file didn't play. Could be that I dint select the right recipe Handbrake no longer supports avi converts and freemake had malware bundled into it so i chose not to install. I can connect up to PC but I'm trying to work off an USB drive so i don't have to carry a PC around. I checked the android app for Epson (for use with a smartphone) but several users have been having issues with it so i opted out for now.

Apparently only avi files are supported and the file should not be:

? Saved with an audio codec other than linear PCM or ADPCM

? Above 1280 720 resolution

? Larger than 2GB

How to check if the avi file is PCM or ADPCM?
The files I checked don't show this info in properties.

Any suggestiions. Thanks in advance

Answer:Convert Mp4 To Avi (pcm Or Adpcm)for Epson Projector

Use Format Factory.

1. When installing the software uncheck the extras being offered.
2. Select AVI for the video stream & WAV for the audio stream prior to converting.

I am about to purchase a digital projector but...It will be used to show digital photographs as presentations more often than not. These will be more scenic than portrait (such as high mountains of Sikkim and also flora and fauna) so good definition will be importantThese will be shown I think through the use of my Toshiba Satalite Laptop.I am a little uncertain about what to "go for" as this will be my first projector. It is not necessary to have one with a lot of "extras" just a bit more than basic will suit me fine.Ankermi

Hi! Recently bought an Acer digital projector. I want to use it in conjunction with the laptop to present slideshows. I have tried to use the projector remoteto advance pictures in the slideshow I created on the laptop, but nothing happens which means I have to use the laptop to advance the pictures. How do I sort this out? The on line manual for the Acer is no help.Any advice appreciated.Laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Answer:Digital projector and laptop

I don't know but my guess is that you can only advance the pictures if you're using a USB drive connected directly to the projector.

Can anybody out there tell me if there are digital projectors on the market that connect DIRECT to a digibox for tv presentations? I am looking to buy one for use on special sporting occassions etc. I have one at home (ACER 1100), but have to connect via a VCR and the resultant picture is slightly blurred. Can connection be accomplished without the VCR and, if so, what would be the best sub-700 (if any) available? Most grateful for any advice.

Answer:Digital projector and TV connection

The specification of your projector click here implies that connecting a digital set top box (or anything else for that matter) shouldn't be any problem.Perhaps a Scart connection (from the set top box) with S-video and audio leads into the projector may do the trick?

I belong to a camera club that runs an annual digital image exhibition. We project the images, both for selection and subsequent showing of accepted images, using a Canon SX80 projector. Several potential entrants have asked me what embedded profile they should use when submitting images, sRGB or Adobe RGB 1998. My first inclination is to say sRGB but does anyone know different?

Answer:Digital Projector Profiles

According to the information that I've found on a few websites, the default colour profile on that projector is, as you say, sRGB.The camera club that belong to also uses a Canon projector (I'm not sure of the model) and there's been a lot of discussion about colour profiles. Various people seem wed to different profiles, but frankly the on-screen difference between all of them seems to be miniscule.

I have been using an old Panasonic PT-LM1E digital projector with my Vista lap top. The cursor does not appear on the projected screen, so I am having to navigate from my laptop screen, which is a bit of a nuisance when teaching. Is it anything to do with the fact that I use the touch pad rather than a mouse? If so I could purchase a mouse. I have been told that it should not require the use of a mouse. Any suggestions? Can anyone recommend a value for money digital projector to be used in a conference venue for general powerpoint presentations? Reliability is important as it will be hired out to delegates, but naturally cost is an issue. Thanks

Answer:Recommend Digital Projector

Personally, I don't think "value for money" and "digital projector" can sit easily in the same sentence, never mind next to each other! For our presentations we use a 50" plasma screen. I realise this may not be suitable but is a digital projector??d

My wife belongs to a society that uses our local, small theatre for lectures, presentations etc. The theatre also wants to show digital films. The society and the theatre are currently planning to share the cost of buying a digital projector, for Powerpoint presentations and digital movies, and I'm hoping that someone might be able to recommend a good projector. The distance from the projection point to the screen is about 20 metres, and the auditorium can be effectively darkened. They have been told that a projector of no less than 3000 ansi lumens will be required. Ideally they also need a zoom lens, as movies will need a bigger image than lecture presentations.Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, but not horrendously expensive, projector to fit this spec, please?

Answer:Digital projector recommendations, please

20 meters is long way to project. The screen will be massive and there will be loss of brightness and clarity at that here

I wish to buy a second hand lap top so that I may use it to connect to a digital projector and show power point presentations and jpg images. What minimum specifications should the laptop have, including cabling? Also, what software programmes are necessary?I would be grateful for any advice.

Answer:Laptop and digital projector

A pentium 3 laptop will do - as long as you have powerpoint on the machine. It doesn't matter what operating system - win 98se will do. The main point is the projector i.e. it has to have enough lumination for the job. Most projectors come with a connecting lead that you run through your graphics out.

Hello. When I click on the Top 10 link for digital projectors, it just gives me a whole load of reviews, so I am still a little in the dark. I am looking for a DP that will work well with Powerpoint and Excel, but can double up as home cinema projector in the weekends, playing DVD's from either my laptop or a DVD portable. I am not too worried about budget (but don't want to splash 1,500 that I saw some were retailing at!) I have read the review of the NEC VT570 and it looks good, but the review was from November 2004 (so probably written six months ago). Any thoughts?

How can I send the sound [ridiculously low volume] from my digital projector to my computer's speakers?

Answer:Digital Projector To Satellite Speakers

[ridiculously low volume

This is most likely caused by not having an external amplifier (stereo-surround sound etc ) run the audio out to the amp then from the amp to the speakers and that should fix it.

I have just bought a digital projector so that I can with talks etc. I cannot get it to work. I have a video link cable but 'no signal'. What am I doing wrong - or not doing!!

Answer:How can I connect laptop to a digital projector

(1) Normal connection is to link VGA out port of laptop to VGA in port of projector. But, you need to change laptop monitor setting for dual monitor (you can see in on laptop as well as projector) or external projector (only view from external monitor). Check you laptop manual how to set this up, most laptop only require press one key. However, some laptop do not have external vga monitor port, then you cannot use this option.(2) Use video link just like what you are trying, but laptop need to have TV out (again need to set up), so link video (tv) out of laptop to video in of projector. But this method give you poor picture quality, so option one is best method. Again, very few laptop have video (TV) out function.(3) If you laptop has no external vga out or tv out port, the get another laptop.

I'm tearing my hair out at my office (a community college Fine Arts department) and I need some advice on how to set something up before I lose what little of my mind I have left. All of my faculty are Mac users, but I really don't think that will matter, this is really a simple hardware issue. Allow me to explain the problem...

One of my lecture halls has an overhead-mounted digital projector used by the faculty to show slides from DVD and/or online sources. The problem, though, is that some of the faculty need to connect their notebook computer to the projector, while other faculty need to use a tower that is already in the classroom. There is a battle going on in the classroom over the cables being constantly moved around because using a notebook requires one type of cable arrangement, while using the tower requires a different cable setup. When a laptop user gets in the classroom after the room having been used by someone who used the tower, the laptop user has no idea how to switch the cables back so they can output from their notebook to the projector. Then a tower user comes in after a notebook user and the issue repeats itself. Get the idea? I need to put an end to this problem.

So, in short, there are two possible sources (notebook or tower) and there is one DVI cable that leads to the projector.

What I need to set up is something like a simple A/B switch to allow the users to connect with DVI connector "A" if they're using a notebook co... Read more

We are a small water agency in rural California and need a digital projector for our Board meetings and for various public information exercises in spaces from our own conference room (seating maybe 20 at most) up to the size of a school classroom or small auditorium. I have been looking online at the Epson projectors (such as EX7220/7230/7235) but don't really know much about digital projectors and so would like some help making a good choice. Content would be mostly PowerPoint or other slideshow software, or video. Source would usually be a laptop computer (and yes, I know that video usually needs a hardwired connection rather than wireless).
Thanks for enlightenment on a subject about which I am really inadequately informed.

Have spent all day trying to set up a digital projector for someone else's lecture.
Used my laptop and a borrowed cheap-o projector which has not been used for so long that the owner had almost forgotten he had it.
It is possible to play with the basic settings button on the case, but I've tried three different VGA cables and finally in exasperation connected it to my PC monitor.
Whatever I do I have a persistent screen (or wall) announcing No Signal.
When first tried this morning the friend whose projector it is managed as far as desktop, where it stalled and didn't show any icons.
This afternoon it wouldn't even do that, and settled for No Signal
Since a digital projector is only an elaborate monitor, stopping at No Signal means some failed internal circuit, or does it?
I have this feeble hope that someone can suggest a cure or at least a confirmation that this is dead. System is XP

Answer:Digital projector fails to find signal?

Does the projector's menu show on the screen?
How are you connecting? Connecting to PC monitor probably would not work.
Are you using cloned or extended desktop from the laptop to the projector?
No signal means what it says - nothing is getting to the projector. Check cable connections and output is correct.

I have connected it up, turned it all on, started a slideshow on my notebook.........toggled the FN/F5 buttons (a screen comes up with three images on it, but no choice on how to select or use) and nothing appears on the screen.

What do I need to do to get them to work together?
Any ideas please?
Many thanks.

What you need to do is to switch to projector before you start any application.
So when you can see desktop only use FN+F5 key combination to switch to the projector.
When the desktop is shown there start the slideshow.

I run a small movie theatre, and we're trying to run our digital trailers off of a computer in our office.

So what I'm trying to do is play a video on my computer monitor, that will then simultaneously be projected from a digital projector.

The closest I've been able to come is being able to have my computer to have 2 monitors and drag the player into the other window. However when I do that, I am completely blind to what is coming out of the projector. I've tried doing "clone output, monitor + digital TV" but the resolution on the projector has not been high enough (the image only fills a small section in the middle of the screen). Is there a way to configure a player such as VLC or Media Player Classic to help me out, or something else I can do in Windows?

My pc and laptop are connected to a wireless network using a buffalo router. Internet connection and files/folders are shared. But I want to transfer about 10gb of data from pc to laptop. Doing it wirelessly takes too long. So I tried to connect the 2 using a cross over cable. One end is plugged into the laptops single network/ethernet port but where do I plug it into the pc? The router is plugged to one of the pc's ethernet ports but obviously I can't use this as it will disable the router. There's also another port which accepts the cross over cable but I tried that and it doesn't recognise the network. I don't want to alter the wireless network permanently - I just want to have a wired network to transfer some files and when I unplug the cables for it to go back to the wireless network.

I need two things: a good turntable (maybe USB, but im fine with one that provides analogue audio outputs, just a NEW one), and some good line-in recording software to record all my dad's old records to digital files (i.e. mp3s).

im not looking to spend a ton of money, for example a $250 turntable would be TOO much.

it would be a major plus if the recording software was able to split up the files during recording instead of just producing one huge music file.

Answer:Software to convert records into digital

USB turntables generally include their own software, but if you just plug an old-school t-table in to your PC sound card, you can then use either Wavosaur or Audacity, to record the audio coming through the "Line-In" port on the sound card. I'm FAR from any sort of expert on the subject, but do I know either of these will do. Once the audio is saved to an MP3 or WAV (or whatever), you can then do whatever you want with the saved audio.....

Hello All,
I would like to convert my old LP records and audio tapes to digital format so that I can add them to my music library iPod and so on.
Is anyone else interested in this, and could they tell me what my requirements are. Right now, I have my own record player with standard red white analog outputs. My computer is a fairly powerful XP based system with multiple USB ports. It has a Sound Blaster SB X-FI Audio [CCE0] card.
Can someone out there advise me on this, or direct me elsewhere?
Thanks in advance,

Answer:Convert LPs and Audio Tapes to digital

Good morning,
I don't know if I can be any help to you or not.
I converted all of my LP's, 45's, and tapes (from the 50's 60's, 70's & 80's) over 1500 songs in total about 5 years ago, so my method will probably be "old fashioned".
Using my home music system, I recorded my lp's, 45's and tapes to CD's,
then I went to the computer converted my CD's to WAV files using a free program called EAC. All of my 1500+ songs were then saved as WAV files on my HDD, to do with whatever I wanted, make CD's, Mp3's to put on my Sansa 280 or just set back and play any of my 1500+ songs with a keystroke. If you want to have MP3's, you can convert the WAV file into a MP3, I used a free program called Audacity to do this, you can clean, trim and/or edit sound level at the same time.
If you decide this is the way to go, get back to me and I'll give you more detail, but I'm sure that today there is a much better and easier way to do this.

When I was building my system a year ago from now I made a small mistake, I bought a analog monitor (D-sub) because it was cheap, the monitor is fine but I would like to put a graphics card in it at some point and most don't have a analog output.

My motherboard supports Lucid Virtu which is a program that switches between the integrated graphics (HD 3000) and the graphics card depending on the situation. You keep your monitor plugged into the motherboard not the graphics card (I think).

I can buy the Gigabyte GTX 650 2GB which has a D-sub connector, but I would like something a bit more powerful. So I though I could plug something like a 560 Ti in with no analog output and the Lucid virtu could convert it to analog.

Would this work?

I have a Toshiba A200 - 1AI with Nvidia Geforce Go 7300 graphics, the laptop has a widescreen 1280x800. When a Taxan/Plus 1024x768 digital projector is plugged in and the option set to display on both display devices, the laptop changes to 1024x768 and stretches to fit the widescreen, the projector is perfect.

I would prefer the laptop to display non distorted with a black bar to each side of the screen. There is an option in the Bios that suggests this is posible and indeed when set the bios screen displays in this undistorted way, hoever when Vista boots it reverts to the stretched format.

Is there any way of geting round this.

Answer:Satellite A200-1AI: widescreen display when using a digital projector with 4x3 display

Did you saved the settings in the BIOS after changing this display option??
Please don?t forget to do this!!!

But if you have saved the settings and the display stills change to the stretched 1024x768 resolution, then you should check the nVidia graphic functions in the control panel of the Vista OS.

Go to the NVIDIA control panel and check the advanced view.

Good luck

I have a friend I built an HTPC for and the time has come where she wants to start ripping her entire DVD collection of almost 700 DVD's to her HTPC now that she has enough 2tb HD's. She wants to rip them all to true 720p content at a size of 2 - 4gb/ea but heres the kicker. She wants to know if there is an app that for her Series DVD's like House and Dexter if there is a program that will be able to sepperate the episodes on the DVD into individual files.

Her system has a Q6600 @ 3ghz and 4gb ram under W7 32-bit in case that makes a difference in what program would do the best or have the best speed for her.

Answer:Want to convert DVD collection to digital media for HTPC. Best/fastest programs?

Handbrake is the most popular good method.

If you want more options and control Staxrip is great but a bit more in depth.

As for DVD, the output is 480p. Whatever other settings you decide, If you want good quality I recommend CRF18 and no higher especially on DVD content. That will produce file good file sizes and great quality. If you want smaller files CRF19 is common though.

Both programs will also allow you to do separate episodes etc. There's also a handbrake batchenc tool out there that makes batch processing much easier.

Also forget to mention the obvious. Use H.264 and since there's that many you could use the "normal" profile and get much faster speed. Quality will be nearly the same as high profile as long as you're specifying a CRF instead of a bitrate. File sizes will just be a bit larger.

I am currently trying to set up a network at my home, so we can all access our adsl connection.

I am using a D-link DSL G604T Wireless ASDL Modem Router, the computer which is closest links through an ethernet connection, and has been used to set up the router. This is in the study and runs XP SP1

There is a laptop which also connects to the router via and ethernet cable, and this has been set up to connect to the internet. Initially there was trouble getting all the laptop to communicate with the study PC, but after adjustments to the Zone Alarm Firewall, this has been resolved. (My father set the laptops IP address as a trusted zone) Runs Win98

My own PC links via a wireless adapter, and I have been using this to connect to the internet, no problems. However, I cannot get it to talk to the other machines on the network. Again this may be a firewall issue. I am running XP SP2.

However both my machine and the study PC also have bluetooth dongles, and I am wondering wether it is possible to set up the connections so I can allow a Pocket PC (Compaq 3970) to use the ASDL connection via the bluetooth dongles.

All the acronyms that are used are really starting to confuse me, and I am not sure what to do or where to look without upsetting the whole thing.

Any help on any of these probs would be gratefully appreciated

What kind of headphones are you using? I haven't heard of any that are Bluetooth but have a wire.

We have an HP all-in-one printer/scanner. We never use the fax functions but do use the scanner and printer functions.

I want to hook up a bluetooth adapter to it. Will the scanning ability suffer?

One of the items I'm looking at is the Belkin adapter on Amazon:

All of them seem to say usb v1.1

Ease of use is paramount! The lady whose desk this sits on is technologically challenged and easily frustrated. If this idea is going to create MORE trouble for her than it's worth, I need to know before I proceed.

I use a bluetooth speaker (Tendqa) as well as a pair of wired headphones on my computer (XP). Until yesterday, I could get audio output on both simultaneously (I know for sure because many times I forgot that the speakers were on and I'd start playing a game and the sounds were broadcast through the speakers and I didn't realize it right away because I had the headset on).

Anyway, as of this morning, it's an either/or thing with music (played via Pandora or WMP). I can get system sounds through the headset (such as the audio demo through Realtek) but no music while the bluetooth speakers are connected.

The only thing I can think that I did in the interim is install Adobe Acrobat Reader X. But I restored my computer to yesterday's settings (before the Reader install) and it didn't solve the problem. I even checked my windows registry to make sure none of the Reader X registry entries were there. Nada.

Can anyone think of anything else I can try?

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of acquiring some Bluetooth headphones to go with my speakers and I was wondering if it was possible to use the Bluetooth headphones simultaneously with wired speakers?

Answer:Windows 7: Using Bluetooth Headphones & Wired Speakers simultaneously?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and answer "it depends". Windows allows you to select the output device (I have 5 of them) but only one can be selected as default. However, I know that I have used media applications that ignore the Windows default device and will let you select the output device for that application. Thus, if you actually had multiple devices in use and started SOUND.exe you would see volume levels on the right for each device as sound is streaming.

I posted in a previous thread about the Aaxa Tech L1v2 being used as a MS Office Projector, and it really caught my attention! I ended up getting one and thought I would share with everyone a full review!
I am what some call a tech connoisseur. I always like to get my hands on the newest tech products, ranging from cell phones to projectors. Today’s product to go under the microscope is Aaxa Tech’s L1v2. The L1v2 is the second generation of the laser pico projector line. The most prominent features of the L1v2 are the improved performance, better heat dissipation, a new modern look, and most importantly a much much better price point, $399!

My expectations for this product were high as it is a second generation product. Taking it out of the box, I was immediately amazed the size and weight of the L1v2. The dimensions are 4.2”x2.1”x1.2” and weighs only 170 grams with the battery! To put this in perspective, it’s almost the equivalent of the HTC 8525, which isn’t bad at all. The box includes: the unit itself, AC adapter, A/V cable, VGA cable, and tripod clip (no tripod unfortunately). The Iphone/Ipod/Ipad adapter is sold separately unfortunately. The L1v2 is made from what seems to be durable plastic, meaning it could easily go in to your briefcase without much concern. The black matte finish gives it a smooth exterior with little chance of finger prints or smudges. The buttons are a decent size and aren... Read more

I've got a regular desktop pc and a laptop. Both are running Windows 7.

If both machines are wired, file and printer sharing works like expected. If the laptop is on the wireless, things go sour...

The machines don't see each other, I can't ping the laptop from the desktop or vice versa. Strangely enough, if I ping the desktop from the laptop by IP address the desktop will reply. At that point the desktop will see the laptop too and sharing (file, printer & media) works fine. But if the connection is idle for a couple of minutes they won't see each other anymore.

I've tried all kinds of things: disabled IPv6 on both, reconfigured file and printer sharing, disabled the firewalls on both. But none of these changes have had any effect whatsoever. I have also tried to give everything the same name (SSID, workgroup and network name on the desktop) but that had no effect either.

More info:
- Wired and wireless clients are on the same subnet.
- The router is a Linksys WRT-350N
- AP isolation is disabled
- uPnP is enabled on the router

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Answer:Solved: wired-wired file sharing works, wired-wireless doesn't

The problem is I have a few devices such as a Blu-ray player, a Direct TV DVR and other items that need to be hard wired.

I want to use my phone as a WiFi hot spot then pick up the signal with a device and plug my Direct TV DVR into the device with an ethernet cable.

Sprint was unable to help and someone on another non-tech site suggested a Engenius Network ESR9850.

Does anyone know if this will work, or if there are other options available

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit (6.3, Build 9600) in my laptop (Lenovo Y510P). When I connect the VGA Port of my laptop to a projector and choose the duplicate screen option (Fn+F3 in my laptop), the display projected on the (exterior) screen starts flickering wildly. At the same time the display on my laptop screen is stable (the resolution changes, but apart from that it's okay). I have tried it with four different cords (and projectors), so I suppose that it may not be an issue with the display cord(s). My laptop is relatively new (still covered under warranty) and this issue started with my laptop since the first time I tried to connect the VGA port to a projecter. Is this a hardware issue with the VGA port of my laptop or is there a possibility that it may be a software (driver) issue also? Any help would be much appreciated!

Answer:Projector's image FLICKERS when projector is plugged in.

You need to go into your display properties and change the refresh rate for that output.

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results to a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will be highlighted
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy
Now go back to the forum - reply and then right click in the reply box and paste

I am currently working on a homemade project in my free time called Project Surround. I am trying to get a full surround sound setup in my room. I have 2 wired speakers in the front and a Bluetooth speaker in the back. The problem is I need both the wired and Bluetooth speakers to play at the same time. Any way I can do that?

Answer:Play Audio from Wired Speakers and Bluetooth Speakers at the same time

Windows only allows one default audio playback device, thus unless you can find some third party app that will allow both, you won't be able to do that. You will need a full surround PC sound system.

I recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.

Would anyone please share the solution to this?

Answer:Replaced wired keyboard with Bluetooth keyboard. PC no longer sleeps..

Well, you can load Device Manager (search for device to see link) and then right-click the keyboard and select Properties. Click the Power Management tab and uncheck the box "Allow this device to wake the computer". This should fix the problem.

This projector uses a USB to Projector connection to allow the images to be projected through the projector. It says that it uses drivers to do this, but I called AAXA and they said that Windows 7 is currently officially supported - that it may work but they can't make any guarantees.

Has anyone ever heard of a USB to Projector type of projector before? Anyone try the AAXA M1 on Windows 7? The projector looks really cool and is cheap ($299) but I want to make sure it works first...

The digital sound is amazing, CD quality from my PC is great.

However, I now also receive the digitized sound of pages being loaded as I surf the web. All sound comes out digitized when loading a new page.

Hey everyone

I just got a set of Boston Acoustics Digital Media Theater Speakers. They're pretty nice for 1999. I'd probably go as far as saying they're the best set of computer 2.1s I've ever heard.

Problem is, I can currently only run them through analogue because I have no digital cable for them. The connect on the sub looks like either a digital coax or RCA connect, which should run out to the 1/8 in. mini digital out on my SoundBlaster Live! card.

The manual doesn't say exactly what it is anywhere. It shows a picture of a cable with a single RCA end and a 1/8 in. mini stereo end.

Problem is, every such cable I find is mono on the mini end.

Any ideas on where to find a such cable?

I attached a picture of the back, it is blurry, but you can at least see what it is. (top right jack)

I assume you're running Windows. Which one?

I do a lot of audio work on mine, using Windows XP SP 3, and was able to kill the sounds by opening the Control Panel, then Sounds and Audio Devices, and then click on the Sounds tab. For "Sound Scheme" select "No Sounds" and click the "Save As" box.

Sound functions but reciever is only detecting 2 channel output. Apon browsing RealTekHD audio properites I discovered that the only options for Digital Output(RCA) were all 2-Channel under "Default Format" tab. However my front pannel Audio Output Jack(HD Audio 2nd Output) has an extra third tab labeled "Speaker Configuration" and has options for up to 7.1 surround but these settings do not impact my Digital Output(RCA) channel. I have a Pioneer 106s DVD ROM which has a digital 2 pin output.

My sound card, a soundblaster Live CT 4830 does have a digital out connector on the external part (next to the line in input), but does not have a 2 pin connector on the card itself where the DVD could be connected (there is the place with SPDIF marked but for some reason there is no 2 pins connector)

I do not want to buy a 5.1 soundcard if I can connect my DVD ROM to the amplifier without using the soundcard, Is this possible! Is the DVD rom digital out SPDIF recognised by the amplifier?

Should I create on the soundcard (which does have the digital output on the ecternal panel) an internal connection for the 2 pins? will this work?

Does anyone have a clue? HELP!!

If I do this, can the PC still talk to the wireless printer? And if not, how would you connect to the network wired, but to the printer wirelessly?

Is there a way to make a macro to pull the time and put it into the time section of an iCalendar file, pull the "M" and put it into the "location" section, while ignoring the "Front service clerk" section? I just purchased a new digital camera and when I went to install the driver cd that came with it, it said the driver is not compatible with my version of Windows (7). Is there anyway that I can find a new driver? I'm not very knowledgable with drivers and if this possible. Or if not a driver is there anyway that I can get the photos off the camera to my computer...took alot of photos I don't want to lose.

The camera is from a company called Digital Concepts, the driver cd has a company called Sakar International on it. I hope thats all the info that would be needed for someone to help me!

Answer:Digital Concepts Digital Camera

Hello Alabama Belle, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Do you have the model number of the camera? You can also check at the manufacturer's website to see if they may have any drivers available to download that may work for you.

In addition, if you have a media card reader installed on your computer, you can take the card out of the camera and plug it into the media card reader instead to upload your pictures.

Hope this helps,

HelloCan anybody possibly point me in the direction of some info on how to get the film off my wife's Sony camcorder and onto a CD so that it can be read by 'most DVD players'.My burner is an LG.I have Nero and B's Recorder Gold Basic. I know it is possible to convert MPEG1 files using the above programmes but I don't know what format the Sony will dump the stuff on my computer with. I am trying to find out as much as possible before embarking.

Answer:Digital camcorder to CD Digital video.

First off you need a method to get the sound and vision into the computer. This depends on the outputs your camera has - Video/audio/Firewire/USB2 - or whatever - please let us know.

I purchased a W700 back in November and spent $450 extra for a BluRay drive. You must use the DisplayPort to connect HDMI compliant gear and I have also learned that they have failed to include audio over the DisplayPort which really makes paying for BluRay a waste of money. They fail to mention this on their website so buyer beware! There does not seem to be any way of outputting the multi-channel digital soundtracks of any DVD or BluRay unless I purchase a mini-dock and haul that around with me everywhere I go. Many notebooks use the headphone jack as an optional digital out port, but not on the W series. They have even crippled the internal "record what you hear" digital audio recording feature common in even the cheapest notebooks. This is a problem is you ever plan on editing video, recording audio of any kind, playing back movies, or hooking the notebook up to a home theater or to office presentation gear like projectors. When will Lenovo deal with this problem?

Answer:No digital audio in or out, or the ability to record digital audio in W700 and W500 series notebooks

"When will Lenovo deal with this problem?" Never... I've edit videos with Premiere and After Effects with no problems on the audio side though. Of course, you won't get digital audio out. I've been waiting for an update on the broken wacom drivers to support 2 buttons (indispensable for pro 3D applications) since I purchased my W700 back in October 2008. Wacom developers sent a new driver to Lenovo back in early December but Lenovo seems to keep that driver in the dark for some reason. I guess we just bought the wrong laptop.

Hello, through "Lenovo Update & Drivers" utility i installed ThinkPad update "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II" which is bluetooth solution by BROADCOM corp which has much better user interface and detailed settings than implemented Microsoft W7 bluetooth solution named "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". The problem is that after installation of this update on my Windows 7 there is still functional this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". I tried to disable it in "Device Manager" but after several restart of my computer nothing happened and this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" is still active. It seems that this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" came probably with some Windows actualization. The "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II" is installed on my computer successfuly - i can see it in Programs. And "Device Manager" says that this service also works OK. Can anybody help me to get rid off MICROSOFT/Windows7 bluetooth solution ("MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator"), please? Do you know how to COMPLETELY uninstall this?I want use on my computer original LENOVO ThinkPad bluetooth by BROADCOM. Thank you for your notes and help.Xs

Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport
If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?
If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes

Hi all,
I am trying to change the names of the bt devices I use to connect to my lumia 1520, like my bt ear buds and car bt so it's easier to choose the bt I want to connect to, any suggestions? Running windows phone 8.1 update 1 in developer preview.

Answer:Changing the names of my bluetooth devices in the bluetooth section of my lumia 1520

Go to Settings -> Device hub (located at the bottom of the list)
Once the Hub is up and running you can pin it to the Start screen. In the Hub you can rename your BT devices as you please once you have connected them and the Hub recognises them.

Hi all: I recently purchased a second-hand X61 Tablet. It shipped with Windows Vista and still has about 75 days left in the warranty.I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it, but now I cannot connect to my Nokia cellphone. With Vista, I could connect to it very easily. But in Windows7, I go to "Add a device" and it just keep searching for a device without showing my cellphone. I have done extensive googling/binging and the following are the things I have tried: - Both Bluetooth services are up and running and set to automatic- My cellphone is set to bluetooth ON and radio discoverable- My cellphone can see the computer. But cannot pair with it.- I have installed various bluetooth stacks so now the 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device" driver not found error, is not an issue. I am at a wits end with this problem. I am actually debating going back to Vista.Anyone here who can help me with my misery?

I've done everything but stand on my head and I cannot get the P50 and the Sony to see each other to pair. I use the headset everday at the gym with an iPod Nano with no problem. With the P50 I've tried "add a bluetooth device' and 'show bluetooth devices'. In neither instance does the Sony appear. Suggestion? Mark
