A program for maximising internet priority to only one selected application

Question: A program for maximising internet priority to only one selected application

Hello,I am looking for a program capable of redirecting ALL current internet speed only to one application, ensuring it works possibly as good as it should. So far I only found programmes meant to limit the applications speed, which is theoreticaly the opposite of what I am looking for.I would LOVE you guys to reply to me with ANY ideas because I am trying to fix a problem that none have yet solved. If you want to read more about the problem, head here http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php?topic=138954.0 and maybe you could help me to solve it, if not, staying here will be appreciated too. Thanks and best regards,

Preferred Solution: A program for maximising internet priority to only one selected application

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: A program for maximising internet priority to only one selected application

You could use almost any firewall product to accomplish this. Even Windows Firewall should allow for this type of management. If you turned on the limitation for the entire PC and then permitted the one application for full access, wouldn't that accomplish what you are trying to do?

I have some applications that I like to run at specific priorities. For example i like running my voice recognition at higher than normal and background 3d renders at low. Is there a way to set this for each application at launch time so that I don't have to do it manually each time throught the task manager?

Answer:Possible to set application priority at launch?

Yes it is -
Create a text file in the directory where the the program (Programx.exe) lives, call it Programx.bat, Where Programx.exe is the actual name of your program. The file has one line of text in it - cmd/c start /High programx.exe.
Create a shortcut to Programx.bat and use that instead of a shortcut to the program itself.
Instead of high you can also use "Low", BelowNormal, AboveNormal or Realtime.
Realtime should only be used if you have a high spec machine with at least 512Mb of RAM.

Hello,

I'm connected to the internet via wireless modem. My PC is connected to the modem via Ethernet and the modem connects me witlessly to the nearest Base Station. The modem has no interface or options to modify.
I play WoW and use Ventrillo ( Voice Chat ). Is there a way to give WoW more priority than Ventrillo ? Because sometimes i have over 600ms latency.

Bandwidth is 512Kbps Up and 128Kbps Down.

Thanks in advance.....

Answer:How to give bandwidth priority to application over another?

I don't think theres an easy way to do that, without using third party software, but what I would suggest is perhaps lowering the quality of ventrillos call? that would lower the bandwidth required. (Thats if there isn't already an option to lower bandwidth within ventrillo options)

Good luck

Hi, I have noticed that when I run certain applications, win7 decides to auto-change the base priority to a lower value. This occurs even when I still have plenty of available memory and cpu to give. This always causes the application to run laggy. So manually setting base priority does nothing. Win7 disregards my settings. Is there a reason for this?

The behaviour I prefer is that when a user sets a base priority of NORMAL, the application will have its minimum priority set to NORMAL and not auto change it to a lower value. I mean, that's what *BASE* priority means - right? The way its behaving now, the column should be called 'variable priority'.

Is there some setting/app I can use to force an application to maintain the base priority I specify?

I never had issues like this when I had XP 32bit installed on this same laptop, even when 3 or more instances of the same app was installed. It ran smooth.

I have tried:

running application via command prompt using: start /<priority> <program>
used Prio app: Prio - Priority Saver

But nothing works

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (build 7601) 64-bit with 4 GB RAM.

Thanks for any help.

Answer:application base priority auto changes

Windows 7 does not auto-change applications priority. Applications can change their own or another application, but Windows 7 itself does no such thing.

I just installed Office 2003 SP3 and, as a result [I am guessing here] I am getting the message that I have inserted into the title above.
I have tried re-installing Office 2003 from the disc that came with the software pre-installed in Jan '06 on a Compac nx6125 laptop. But this doesn't work. Nor does a system restore to a valid point before I installed SP3.
I fear some unknown but serious corruption, which, alone, I don't have the capacity to repair.
Can anybody make some helpful suggestions pse?
Thanks and apols if this is too naive for words.

Is there a way to get the software?

thank you for your time

Answer:Help! The selected fingerprint reader has no management application

Did some digging, and while I see some threads with people with problems, they most suggest trying the drivers, which are not easy to locate! Go to

custom gaming laptops - Welcome to Sager Notebooks

Click on driver downloads, accept the agreement, then click on your model#. You will see these choices. It might be the Entrance Guard, or Safety Guard, I just can't tell.

I'd suggest posting on their forum, or contacting support.

Right click that driver in device manager, and try to find an update. Good luck.

I also found this link when looking for the fingerprint reader driver, it is for Lenovo, but it's made by the company that makes the reader.

I’ve noticed when I change the priority of one of the specific .exe files in windows task manager from normal to high acceleratesthe whole process- a lot. Is there a way I can permanently set the priority of the whole converter program or just the specific .exe so it will run at highpriority every time it’s running?

I know you can change the priority of a program to change how much cpu power a computer gives to program. When i try to change the priority of this game in task manager (Im using windows 7) it wont allow me to, it simply says "access denied". Is there another way to set the program to high priority temporarily or permanently?

Hi there - I have this really annoying program that I have on my work computer for the phone system. Every time the phone rings, it becomes priority (so it pops up on the screen as the 'active program - and takes the cursor out of the program behind it) and so if I am finishing some notes it is very frustrating. It means if I am doing ANYTHING else, I cannot be on the phones, because it will interrupt me.

Do any of you know how to turn this stupid thing off? I am aware of the fact that the phone rings - its this new concept called a RING TONE - so I dont need to have this program.

Im using WinXP Professional.

Im really frustrated - Ive looked and looked on the net, but cant find anything........

Any help would be much appreciated.

Incidentally, I get this with pop-ups at home on the Win2k PC also. Just a thought.

Thanks

Anyone know how to do this?

I know you can simply go into the task manager and do it yourself but I wanted to see if there was a way to make the program always run in a set priority. I was trying this program on the target line of its shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Labyrinth\camelot.exe"
I added this:

"start/high C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Labyrinth\camelot.exe"
It keeps saying invalid. Thats pretty much the only way I thought it would work. Anyone have an idea how to set this up?

When I did some comparisons I was shocked to find that on my current computer some of my VB programs run far slower than on my old computer. The current computer (a Dell) is considerably faster in theory and yet some VB programs run only at a third of the speed, which is very surprising.

I found that on the old computer Windows Task Manager shows 100 percent CPU use when running a VB program (and on other applications such as gmax). But on the Dell it is about 50 percent.

However, increasing the priority in Windows Task Manager had no effect (and the higher setting defaults back to normal the next time I run the program). Windows Help isn't much good. The setting in Control Panel / System is already set to give priority to applications and not to background tasks.

CPU use is only about 50% in other applications such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Far Cry. This strongly suggests I could get better performance with games and simulators.

So my question is: how do I adjust the priority of applications so they can use virtually all of the available CPU power? I'm running Windows XP Home.

Many thanks.

Best regards,
Chris

Answer:Setting program priority

never believe a computer spec from dell. dell purposely restrict the output (or performance) to keep returns down. a 2.5 Pentium 512mb dell run at about the same speed as a 1.5 pent III 256mb machine. a lot of store made computers do that. that's why you build your own computer.

Good Morning all. I need a VBA or a VBS file, I don't really care. I need a macro where the user can click a button and select multiple files from a folder, it won't always be every file in that folder. I then need it to print all those files that were selected. Opening the print dialog would be great, but the default printer would work too. That part seems ok, in fact I am pretty sure I can just do that in Windows Explorer without needing any application. The catch is I need to print only one sheet in the excel workbooks, the sheet would be named "Turn-In". All that combined is giving me a huge headache. I have looked at some of the stuff Rollin_Again has done and it is so close, but I can't figure out how to add it all together.

Well, I've recently discovered that you can use start to do this with NT (XP, 2K) but the problem is that, at least with XP (don't know about 2K or below) start is not an actual executable, but, a command known only to the console command interpreter (cmd.) This is rather bothersome. Does anyone know of a FREE program that can do such a simple thing without having to go through cmd? I've found a couple of commercial things with a bunch of extra stuff and they don't even directly run the program, but attempt to set it to low after you've run it.

As for why I'd like to do this, there are several programs -- such as the weatherpulse program I used to use (found better) -- which just love to eat up free cycles sometimes. Terribly annoying when you are trying to play games that rely heavily on the CPU like Far Cry...

BTW, for those who don't know, the syntax to start things like this is simply add the priority name after start like so:
START /LOW C:\TEST\TEST.EXE
But, to run it through the registry or start menu, you have to first open the command prompt:
CMD /C START /LOW C:\TEST\TEST.EXE
Unfortunately, you run into issues with things like quotes. And I can't very well go through and set EVERYTHING to use only short filenames. It becomes quite tedius after a while. And it's very hard to find out the real short filename in windows (harder yet in dos since you don't get to see the long filename next to it...)

Answer:Program to start things in LOW priority?

If I am understanding this correctly, you want to run a program on startup that is automatically set to low priority. Is that correct? If so, couldn't you just drop it in the startup folder and let it run from there? Granted, you would have to do this with every program that you wanted to run like that, but I can't imagine that there would be too many.

Cheers.

How do I make a program remember it's priority? The game I play makes it so you can not alt tab without leaving the game which then ends the process on the Windows Task Manger. For the game to run and the process to show you have to log in and start the game. I have read about shortcuts and that but it doesn't work since you can't play the game unless your logged on and press play.

Answer:How to make a program remember its priority?

I think this can be done with some third party programs but not with Task Manager. But why do you wish to do this?By default most processes run with normal priority. Unless you have other CPU bound processes running with this priority while playing the game, which you shouldn't, increasing it's priority will do little. Increasing a processes priority will not normally improve it's performance.I do understand that there are some legitimate reasons for changing process priority.

I've seen the thread on how to write a batch file to start a program in high priority mode http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=52453 but is there anything you can do for a program that launches a launching program? I have one of those MagicJacks and occasionally it will have poor call quality. If I manually upgrade it's priority to High I don't have any problems. The problem with the batch file solution is that MagicJack's start program launches the real program and a few others before it connects and everything settles down.

For now I'm changing the priority manually, but if the kid has to restart the computer or whatever else may happen I want the problem to not exist in the first place.

TIA

Hello.

I need help with setting priority and affinity
(I would normally untick manually all processors and processor1 in taskmanager)

I do this always prior to start certain program to reduce its CPU needs, but I do it manually in taskmanager. Which tends to be quite time consuming when you have to do it serveral times a day.

Thus Im looking for a way to start that program with already pre-set automatic low priority and affinity.

How can I do that? I heard something about windows shell, but dont know how to use the thing, so wouldnt there be easier option?

Hi all, I am wondering if there is a way in windows 7 home premium 64-bit to say, have 7-zip's priority be set to high anytime the program is launched by using the 7-zip.exe or by double clicking a compressed file. Is this doable some how?

Answer:Am I able to do this. Launch a program at a higher default priority?

Hello Siveria,

The answer to your question is a qualified YES;

Prio is a freeware application that does it perfectly in the background, with minimal user intervention.

All you have to do is install it, reboot your computer, run your targetted program once, go to your Task Manager while the program is running, right click on your application, and change the priority.

Prio will remember what you've chosen for that application, so that the next time it will launch at the same priority until you change it again manually for that specific program.

An added bonus to Prio is that It allows you change all sorts of other things like not only CPU Priority, but also an remember's an application's CPU preference (choosing the cores that you want an application to use) and also the default Disk IO priority which is arguably more important when dealing with disk intensive operations that could clog up your system like File Extraction or Bulk File Copies.

Here're a screenshot of the task manager after it's been modified by Prio:-

Prio - Priority Saver

Hope that answers your query.

Hi everybody ::- ). My first post here ::- D.

I am wondering if there is any way to make the selected program in ALT + TAB more evident?

You know, when pressing ALT + TAB we get the running applications, with icon & window preview. Each time we press TAB, the next application is selected.

Is there any way to make it more evident as to what application is currently selected? Right now, the selected application has a very thin / almost un-noticeable border around it. I would like a firmer border, or anything that would more definitely indicate what window I have selected.

Thank you in advance!

If you hold over the application in the switcher Windows brings it forward and fades the other windows away...don't see how you can get more noticeable then that

I have a Win2K PC that runs a couple small web sites and shares my cable modem connection. I also have a CounterStrike server running 24/7 on it. Someone told me CS runs better if it's high priority. I can hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and set it to high. Is there a way to get it to always start at high? Also, does this make any difference? What are the pros and cons of doing this?

Thanks!

I just noticed this yesterday and I believe it is what has been giving me computer problems for the past few days.

So what I've spotted is in Task Manger that about 30 regularly running programs that normally start in Normal priority are now starting in High priority. I'm running Windows XP Pro. I've rebooted, check the msconfig to see if anything looks out of place, I've ran ad-aware, spybot search and destroy and did some registry cleanup with Glary Utitlities. Nothing has fixed this issue.

My computer has been sluggish and had a few problems with IE just freezing the computer up when it was working on something. Other programs have done this too at different times resulting in my only choice to restart the computer or try waiting out the issue and force quit the offending program. As an aside I don't regularly use IE. I use Firefox or Google Chrome but jump into IE for specific websites that require it.

I haven't installed anything that is sketchy or should have changed this start up behavior.

Any idea on how these programs are starting in high priority and what I can do about it? I just loaded HijackThis on the system and it started in High priority. Maybe I'm just off my rocker, but I could swear these programs were starting in Normal priority.

Here is a quick list of running processes that are in high priority.

I've started using Process Lasso to push the programs into the correct priority level. Still trying to figure out why Windows XP is doing this. Any suggestions or ideas on where to look?

Hello, I am having a problem where programs on my XP box that I am quite certain SHOULD be starting as a normal base priority are starting as high. I found a post from August of 2009 that describes the issue perfectly, but no one responded.

Any ideas why this would be happening?

Even stuff like notepad starts as a high priority. Almost all programs do, but some do not. For example, when I open WinAmp, it starts as a normal priority.

Hi,
I have been having problems opening up my adobe documents. I can right click on them and then get the box to choose a program to open it and it will open. But if I go down to the bottom left corner to where that box is to always use that program to open that kind of file is greyed out?

Any tips?

Thanks,

I previously used Microsoft's backup program in Win ME to back up selected files. I was able to save the job, and thus back up the same files every time without having to reselect them. The Microsoft backup program in WinXP does not allow you to save a selected file backup job. What programs are currently available which work in WinXP and will allow me to save a file backup job. Note-I do not backup my entire computer. I only back up selected files which I need to restore if my computer crashes and cannot reboot, when I reformat my harddrive, or when I upgrade my computer. I always reinstall my programs from scratch whenever I either reformat my harddrive or upgrade my computer.

First off I have Windows 7 on my PC. I was trying to open an application file in a particular program. So I used Open with> Choose default program> I choose Windows Media Player. But I didn't realize that the "always use the selected program to open this kind of file" check box was checked. So now every application file in my computer is a .wma file. This means that can't open anything except real .wma files.

Everytime I try to run a system restore the antivirus program stops it. But I can't turn it off because I can't access it. Everything else in the computer runs fine except for the fact that I can't open application files.

Is there a way to fix this without resetting the computer.

Right now I am using my laptop.

Currently I have a wireless network connection as well as a wired one through a Windows running ICS. Both can get me to the internet but I want my machine to use the wireless connection instead of the wired one. Currently the only way to do that is to disable the wired connection but I was hoping there is a way to set priority or to choose which connection to get to the net.

Any ideas?

Remove the gateway entry from the wired connection. All traffic to subnets other than the one to which the wired cnecction is connected will go through the wireless connection.

That does seem to be Microsoft's idea of maximum protection. It isn't necessary to access the net as an administrator. It is safer to have a separate user account as it limits the damage caused by malware. Using the smart screen filter and in private browsing helps. Firefox with NoScript and the HTTPS Everywhere add-on is safer than Internet Explorer. There is no guaranteed security.

Hi all
Can someone help me with something that probably has the easiest fix, but the one that I just can't find please?

When I start Internet Explorer (version 5.5) the window starts maximised (which is how I want it), but any subsequent window that is opened through searching and clicking on links opens up minimised (not to the tray, but to the smaller window version) - and I am getting fed up having to maximise them all the time.

Is there some way that I can have all windows open fully maximised?

I'd appreciate anyone's help and advice with this one.

Thanks heaps

Sue

Answer:Maximising windows in IE

You may not get it to work right but try this. First download and install TweakUi if you don't already have it. Now click start--settings--control panel--tweakui. In tweak, on the Explorer tab place a check in "save explorer windows settings" and click ok. Then open internet explorer so it's maximized. Now right click on the IE shortcut that's on your toolbar at the bottom and select properties. In the Run bar set it to Maximized and click ok. Close IE. Now open IE and see if new windows open maximized or close to it. If the first new window doesn't open maximized then drag the window edges to the maximim that you can get them and then close that window and the original one. Now open IE again and try it now.

Try this if that does no good, copied from a website:

Reset New Browser Window Size

Sometimes Internet Explorer "decides" to remember the wrong size for a new window. Whatever you do, you can't seem to get it to remember a normal size.

You can fix this:

1.Close all instances of Internet Explorer
2.Start the Registry Editor (start--run--regedit)
3.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main
4.Delete the value Window_Placement
5.Exit the Registry Editor

Also look here.

any ideas would be appreciated O/s is windows XP with IE 8 thankyou

Answer:maximising web pages

Long time since I used XP but ...
Open an IE window to the smaller size
Drag the corners of the window until it completely fills the screen. Do not use the maximize button to enlarge the window
Hold down the Ctrl key, and while holding it down use the mouse to click File and then Exit on the toolbar. DO NOT use the "X" in the upper right corner to close the window
IE should now open in a full window
If not repeat the above but this time us the Shift key instead of the Ctrl key

Unfortunately, I am only on 128mb of RAM on my PC, and, at the moment I do not have enough money to buy more.

Hi, my partner recently was given a new laptop for work purposes, it's a Samsung RV520 with Windows 7 installed. It has been connected wirelessly to our home Internet but for some reason will only load pages if we open the Wireless Network Connection tab, (the one that says what router we're currently connected to along with signal strength.) and leave it open while the page loads. When trying to browse the internet without this tab open, all pages hang until the tab is opened, then any pages still waiting to load load instantly.
This is the same with downloads, anything downloaded will not continue unless the Wireless Network Connection tab is open, then it downloads as normal.

This wouldn't be so bad if the tab in question didn't disappear every time we clicked on something else, so at the moment we have to click on something, open the tab, then when clicking to see something else, open the tab, over and over again.

We are using Google Chrome (although problem persists in Internet Explorer too) and internet works fine when connected via Ethernet cable. Also, there is another laptop, (our old one) that works fine wirelessly, and we have a Playstation 3 and a Wii that access the internet wirelessly without any problems.

Hope someone can help as it's a very annoying issue.

I would like my folders to open in maximised format. Currently they only occupy about half screen size upon opening. Once maximised, no problem. Is there any way I can set my folders to automaticall yopen in the maximised view?

Answer:Maximising Folders on Opening

Bob Deb, open a folder, maximize it. Close it using the option found under 'file' rather than the handier 'X' (only needs to be done once) for a single folder. That forces Windows to 'remember' and use that setting next time.If you want ALL to open maximized, look under 'view' for 'folders'. There's an option the to maximize folders. Next weekend, I am playing cashier to a Fund-raising for the Local River Trust. we try to keep it clean, encourage wildlife etc. Unfortunately I expect to be on the river bank this year, previously I have been based in a house.Problem! My laptop (on battery power)is usually good for about an hour and a half continuous operation.I don't expect to need to physically use it for more than about an hour+, but this will be spread throughout the day. Will I be best letting it go into sleep mode or should I switch it on and off? There is a little Honda generator that we use to power the Farmers fridges. Theoretically this gives 240volts AC.Would I be safe enough to plug into this if I took an anti surge bar with me?

Answer:Maximising Battery life

the laptop will consume hardly any power - but it will consume some.Switching it on and off is the best plan. I'm not sure about the generator - in theory it will be OK (I used a borrowed Honda generator in the North Borneo rain forest a couple of years ago and it ran my Toshiba Portege a treat for about five days), but older generators can be spikey. The anti-surge bar should take care of things but proceed at your own risk.

Hi all,

I've recently updated to W10, and am hoping I'm missing a shortcut for maximising snapped windows.

I'm the sort of person that likes to minimise mouse use. I'm used to snapping windows to the left or right using the shortcut "Start + Left/Right Arrow". I can still use this, and I generally like the Snap Assist functionality that now comes with it.

However, I am currently finding it quite annoying to use keyboard shortcuts to get out of this view (i.e. when you have 1 screen snapped left and 1 screen snapped right). The only shortcut I can find for maximising a screen is "Start + Up Arrow", however this will instead snap it to the top quadrant (on its respective side), and snap assist will ask you what you want to snap to the bottom quadrant. From what I can see, you then have to Esc out of this and then try "Start + Up Arrow" again.

Is there not a keyboard shortcut to maximise directly from a snapped window? It's currently taking 3 keyboard shortcuts, which is sort of a paradox.

It sounds fairly basic, but it's quite annoying when you are regularly snapping windows to left/right, and something I could do easily on W7.

For completeness, steps to reproduce:

1. Have several windows open in W10, (min. 3). Also, have snap assist turned on in settings
2. "Start + Left Arrow" to snap active screen to left. Snap assist should appear on right
3. Use Arrow Keys and Enter to select a window to snap to right

Can anyone please advise how to configure my Outlook Express Ver 6 so that on a click of the mouse the e mails are individually opened automatically ,maximised, rather than in the minimised form.

Answer:OutlooK Express - Maximising all E mails

I don't think this is possible on OE. I have checked the options for read, and this just does not appear.

Apologies if this problem is already solved elsewhere, it seems kind of simple but I searched and couldn't find it...

I'm having trouble assigning the default program to open certain files on my 64-bit 7 Home Premium machine. I previously had a program called Vesta which I used, and that was fine. The path was something like C:\Program Files (x86)\VESTA\vesta.exe
Then when I discovered there was a 64-bit version of Vesta available, I removed my old version and replaced it with the 64-bit version, now sitting in C:\Program Files\VESTA\vesta.exe

Now I'm trying to reset my .cif files to open with the new Vesta. Not surprisingly, vesta.exe has disappeared from the list of available programs to "Open With", because it no longer exists at the original path. But when I browse to the new vesta.exe in Program Files and select it, nothing happens - it just completely ignores my selection, with no message. I can Browse and select any other .exe program as normal, but there is no way I can assign Vesta as the default program. So, it must have something to do with the fact that the new vesta.exe has the same name as the old one, but a different path.

It seems like I somehow need to reset a hidden "Open With" app path list that Windows is keeping somewhere. Does anyone know how I could get at such a list - is it in the registry maybe? (At the same time it would be nice to remove all the random .exe's I added to the list while I was experimenting.... Read more

Who instructed you to run ComboFix? As stated in the disclaimer you had to pass when running ComboFix, it is not intended for unsupervised use.

As you also should have read here in Step 2 of our NEW INSTRUCTIONS thread:

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

As stated by the author of ComboFix:

ComboFix is a very powerful tool which when improperly used may render your machine to a doorstop.

------------------------------------------------------

We first need to verify if there are any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools.

DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present and decide whether to deploy ComboFix.

------------------------------------------------------

I need to see the ComboFix.txt log.

Go to Start > Run and copy/paste the following into the Run box and click OK:

C:\ComboFix.txt

A text file should open. Please post the contents of that file ... Read more

I've got a wireless network at home.

Call me old fashioned, but I want to supervise my children's internet access.

From the PCs in their rooms, I want my children to be able to access the local network resources (printers, common file areas) but not to be able to beyond the router out to the internet.

If they want to get on the internet they'll have to go down to the family room and use one of the machines there.

How can I set this up?

Answer:Solved: How to lock out internet access on selected wireless network PCs

Give them a static IP and change their default gateway from the one pointed to your router or ISP.

Hi, my computer is a huge pile of malfunction. It's a Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition [HP Pavilion Intel Pentium D]
When I try to open internet options in the 'tools' section, a box flashes, then disappears. Also, my yahoo toolbar isn't showing, even though it's checked off when I right click on where the toolbar's supposed to be. I unselected and reselected it - it's still gone.
Also, I installed IE-Spyad & I've removed all of the files. In Section 2 - Installation of IE-Spyad, when I click on Import/Export Sites > Import from File > Up one level button, there's only an empty ZonedOut folder.
I opened it & explored it, nothing in there. Sorry for all the problems lol
Anyways, I've followed every step you guys said to do
Enclosed is my Decker main log, attached is my Decker extra log, then my Panda Activescan results. Pleease help me!

When choosing a program to open a file, in the 'open with' window, the option to "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is selected on (ticked) by default. Please see highlighted and red circled part in the attachment. How can I make this to remain always deselected (unticked), so that I can select it only when I want to?

Answer:How can I disable "always use the selected program" function?

Hello Melita,

You could use either tutorial below depending on what you like best.Open With - Add or Remove "Always use selected program"

OR

"Always use selected program" - Always Checked or Unchecked
Hope this helps,
Shawn
