Irql equal or less equal, si3112r.sys

Question: Irql equal or less equal, si3112r.sys

Hi! I'm new to this forum...

I have a problem with windows xp (sp2). When I boot up windows, a blue screen appears. which says, that I have a problem with the si3112r.sys file. I removed 512 DDR RAM, and it worked for about 6 hours, then the same blue screen appeared. I uninstalled the silicon image raid controller, and again it worked for about 6 hours. Then I tried to repair my OS, but my mouse and keyboard stoped respounding, when the install asked to aprove the install of my network card. I tried 2 times, and the same thing happend. Then I thought, that maybe my old HDD is down, the same HDD where i have my OS installed. So i formated my newer disk and installed the windows xp OS, and again after 6 hours the same thing happens, the blue screen apears and says, that I have a problem with the si3112r.sys file. Please HELP , i realy don't know, what else i can do... And excuse my english, I'm from Slovenia.....

Preferred Solution: Irql equal or less equal, si3112r.sys

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Irql equal or less equal, si3112r.sys

Hi Ghostbuster, welcome to the site (your English is excellent ).

The first thing I would suggest is to update the drivers for your motherboard from the Asus website:

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=A7N8X-E%20Deluxe

Pick the IDE option and install the "Silicon Image Serial ATA drive" for WinXP. Hopefully that will work

I've been having problems with a BSOD, but I can't get the debugger in Visual Studio to read the Minidump .dmp file to find out what the problem is. I've updated my BIOS to the newest version.

It reboots itself numerous times per day, sometimes nearly as soon as it recovers from the last boot.

I've included the .dmp files to this posting.

Thank you in advance.

Answer:IRQL Not Less or Equal

Hi Meatus,

Please visit Windows Update and install every update available, it may take a couple of times to get them all.

Please remove the software of Gigabyte and Advanced SystemCare 8, these (pre-installed) software is known for causing BSOD's.

Please move some files from the D partition to increase the free space to at least 10-15%.
Every partition needs at least 10-15% free space so Windows can do its thing in the background.
   Warning
Less free space could cause BSOD's .

I'm having some trouble reading the dumps, I'll try it a few more times to see if it is indeed what the dumps are saying.

Mother Board: Intel Media Series DG33TL
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 LGA775
Memory: Corsair 1g 667
Hard Drive: Wedstern Digital Sata 300

During the installation of Windows XP home edition it blue screens on me during setup "Installing Devices."

I'm using an older XP home edition CD, perhaps it's because it's new technology with and old xp cd?

If you need anymore more info just let me know.

I really don't know what else to do. Help, please?

I'll be at my computer for quite a while longer so I'll be able to respond asap.

Answer:IRQL Not Less or Equal

Mostly this error indicates something wrong with your memory, maybe leaked, maybe damaged because of heating or manufacturer defects.

Try to run memtest or try replacing the RAM to check.

I am getting a blue screen with the error message driver IRQL not less or equal, and a dumping of the physical memory. My antivirus is detecting something from the CDAUDIO driver and calling it a trojan. I think the problem started when I used a CD-ROM recently that has copyrighted info on it. The only other recent hardware or software was the installation of a printer but this worked fine for a while so I don't it has anything to do with that.

Sorry about my last thread, I didn't realise that SP2 was unsupported. I fixed it by upgrading to SP3 anyway xD

So since I 'fixed' my problem with ndis.sys that was stopping my wireless adapter from working (by upgrading to sp3, as i said), I've been getting an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Bluescreen. The hex values are:

0x0000000A (0x0000019C, 0x0000001C, 0x00000000, 0x804FFA14)

I can run fine in Safe Mode, all my drivers check out normally, the debug program I got from Microsoft's website didn't work and the minidumps are all crypted. If anyone has an idea, that's greatly appreciated ^^

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

ok, when i have been searching for some files across the internet, the blue screen of death just suddenly came up. I turned off the computer and turned it back on, but after the opening screen (with the bar and 3 green squares flowing across it) the Blue Screen comes back on. I did this like 5 times, and the blue screen keeps coming on. The computer doesn't even reach the Desktop.

I tried safe mode and that didn't work. However, the "Debugging mode" works which is how i am typing this right now.

Is there a virus in my computer?

How do i fix this?

btw I added a webcam to my computer, but I uninstalled it from the computer because it didn't work well

Answer:Irql not less or equal

Does the Blue Screens give any error codes and if so what are they? They often will give drivers as well. Give us those if you have them.

Recently started getting the BSOD again after a solid two and a half years (since I build the system). I'm getting the one in the topic title and basic googling has revealed to me that it is likely a driver issue, but I have no idea where to begin with this. Attached are my system specs, it's a 6850 in there.

hi

Since 4 days i got a problem with my windows crashing. I get bluescreen which says IRQL_not less or euqal. It also says something about saving dumped memory in the blue screen, thats all i could figure out of it.

It just startet after I set up windows 4 days ago because of some errors and a stupid trojan which was on my pc. Formated and deleted partitions, set up new, installed all drivers, programms etc. At first everthing was fine all was working perfectly. Then suddenly 1 day later this error apeared. Well it actually seemed to have apeared after i tried to install atitools which wouldnt work. I deinstalled it, no change. Then i set up windows 7 new, i formated and deleted the old partitions. Still no change, as soon as i run either firefox or a 3D game the bluescreen sometimes apears. Set it up new again, installed all drivers everything etc. still no change.

Since i read that IRQL bluescreen is often related to drivers i installed all new that could be related. Direct x, graphics, mainboard, checked windows updates to really have the NEWEST... still i get this bluescreen.

To my system:

Windows 7 home premium 64x
Geforce 8600 GT
6GB ddr2
mainboard is: Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H(uses Realtek drivers)
Anyone got some ideas or solutions? thanks for replies.

Answer:IRQL not less or equal please help me

If it's not a memory leak, (try running memtest from BIOS), It may be a conflict with the drivers you installed and the drivers windows 7 installed. Check your system information for problem devices and device manager for duplicates of the same device. I think there's a good chance you will find something there

Memory corruption probably caused by a driver. Test the memory with memtest.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.
Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Hey!

Ran into an error when trying to install Windows 8.1 on my new computer. I just finished putting it together.

Operating System: Windows 8.1

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Extreme ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
GPU: 2 x nVidia GTX GeForce 770 SLI
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk, Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Networking: Asus PCE-N53 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Power Supply: Corsair Professional 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

When it crashes: Right when it gets to the 'Preparing Devices' after restarting for the first time during the Windows 8.1 installation.

What I have tried: Loading chipset drivers from the CD that came with the motherboard and installing them onto the partition during the drive selection window. I have also tried changing the BIOS selection.

I just put the computer together, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am unable to provide much more information beyond this.

Thanks,

Matt

This is usually down to a RAM issue or a device driver issue.

check the RAM with memtest86 and make sure all your drivers are up to date and installed

Answer:how to fix irql less or equal

Hello @Davidpierson? There are many causes for this sort of error. You could spend a lot of time going back and forth troubleshooting this by searching the Windows logs and having someone go over them for you until you finally find a solution. Only to end up having to reset the PC back to factory half the time anyway. So I would just restore the laptop back to Factory Settings now and be done with it.HP PCs - Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 10) | HP® Customer Support Back up any files you need first. Then after reinstalling Windows, only update Windows, do not install other programs for a while. Run the laptop to see how it goes. One by one add any other programs. Do not install more than one Anti virus program. Personally I only use Windows Defender, nothing else. If after a reset its still blue screening, you need to contact HP Support for a warranty issue.Contact HP Worldwide | HP® Official Site Does this help? hi,
somebody has got to help me out on this..i've been struggling with this prob for over 2 weeks now.
The prob is that whenever i start up my computer for the first time in the day or atleast after 5 hrs it was last shut down, the computer reboots on its own a couple of times , or i've to reboot it a couple of times when this error message on blue screen comes up..it reads as
a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to computer
IRQL_NOT LESS_OR_EQUAL
technical info:
***STOP: 0 X 0000000A(O X OOOO3AFE, 0 X 00000002, 0 X 00000000, 0 X 804E30C2)
thats wat come on the blue screen...sometimes ot comes as DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL....with a different string in the technical info line..
my basic system config is
win xp pro
80gb hard disk
512 mb ddr ram in 2 cards
geforce4 mx
the second ram of 256 was brought recently...i thought it could be that causing the prob, but i ran a couple of memory diagnostic tests that say it was good....
help me out

Answer:Irql Not Less Or Equal

I wouldn't trust the Ram tests, the only surefire way to check your ram is to swap out sticks.

I would first start by removing the one you bought recently, and see how it goes. If it seems ok, do the same with the other stick.

I have received these different errors since yesterday. On the blue screen:

1. A device driver has corrupted you memory pool

2. Driver IRQL no less or equal

3. NTOSKRNL.exe

The pc reboots by itself. shuts down by itself. then when I reboot the blue screen appears several times so I reboot 2 or 3 times before I can get in.

this happened after I downloaded a plugin/driver to watch hockey fights in windows media player. I tried to go to the last good known configuration, still happening, and im not sure what to do with verify.exe. Running win2k.

Answer:irql not less or equal

Do you mean "verifier.exe"?

Just run it either from start or a command line. Accept the prompts and defaults to verify non-microsoft drivers.

Be advised if it finds and disables a faulty driver you may need to reboot in Safe Mode and run:

verifier /reset

to get past the block.

This is a good site for researching Stop errors:

Hi, I been trying to solve this one myself for a couple of weeks, having run memtestx86 I replaced the RAM, and the PSU noticing the fan was labouring. Aswell as did a clean install of Vista. Computer works fine in 2d desktop mode, GPU temp was running a little high, so installed EVGA Precision to bring the temp down. But the I still get BSOD while playing World of Warcraft after a few minutes, yet I have played GTA: Vice City without any problems. Old StarCraft does crash as well but only after like 20 mins of play.
(no I'm not blaming Blizzard on this lol) Anyway I'm attaching my reports hopefully you guys can help me figure out what needs replacing or just re-configuring. (fingers crossed for the latter)
Vista Home Pre x86 32bit
Mobo: asrock n68c-s ucc
Video: BFG Nvidia GeForce 9800GT
Sound: Soundbalster X-Fi
RAM: 2x2 GB of Kingston ddr2 667

Also is there any software you could recommend checking the integrity of the Video RAM or Processor? And would give a report even if it does cause another BSOD.

Answer:Irql not less or equal

Usually, this kind of problem is caused by GPU and/or CPU overheating. You could download HWMonitor or any of the other monitoring software and check it while you're playing.

When you get a BSOD, down at the bottom above where the countdown is going on, it usually states the faulting problem. Do you know what it says?

I'm asking because it's a lot of work going through all the log files.

qHello Folks,

I recently bought a used HP Touchsmart 310 Pc with windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 from a family member and one month in the problems started. I was originally getting the bsod with the error "IRQ Not Less or Equal" every few days, and it became more frequent as time progressed. I notice it more so when watching streaming media or gaming, I could start the computer and watch hulu and it would happen just minutes after starting. This morning I booted into safemode and noticed an error in my device manager that the driver for "Consumer IR Devices" wasn't loading properly, so after several failed attempted windows repairs, finally running from the repair disk worked and the driver issue appeared to be rectified but I'm still getting the IRQL blue screen. I've looked at the event viewer and don't know much about this pc's past as I've only had it for a month or two, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I also noticed that there are only two minidump files, and it's blue screened much more than that recently. I've done a lot of reading about the error, and rather than chase down it might be this that or the other I'll ask the pros! Attached is my DM Log Collector File, thanks in advance!

Hi,

I keep getting BSOD reboots when using Windows 7 Ultimate 64. It is bugging me now because I just lost my progress on a game and have many a time lost progress on a photoshop file (I know I should save often but can't do it every second!)

Anyway, it reports either IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL or BAD POOL HEADER. So many places online tell me to run a registry cleaner. I do not trust this advice.

I have run cmd sfc/scan now and it reported corrupt files and that it repaired them, is that the issue?

I have also uploaded the mini dumps from the last three crashes. Not sure if they are the right ones.

Can anyone help me please?

Answer:Irql not less or equal

Could you please fill in your system specs this might help the BSOD team to solve the problem. And please follow the BSOD posting instructions.

Quite curious how old your hardware is aswell. Had a quite similar problem aswell. And recently my HDD died.

And if you want to clean ur register i would recommend you CCleaner, Its a good free register cleaner. If you want to pay for a program i would recommend you TuneUp Utilitys. Thought this program does alot more then just regestry cleaning.

Yeah, I'm one of those guys with that problem.

I've looked everywhere, and have used iolo System Mechanic and cleaned my computer up, but the problem persists.

It only happens when I go to image heavy sites such as Kotaku, DeviantArt, Flickr, and sometimes Newgrounds, it also comes when I try to start Civilization V through Steam. These sites sometimes work afterwords, after a very long (<2 hours) of operation, but usually just end up sending my computer to Blue Screen hell with the error "ISQL_Not_Less_or_Equal"

Also, the file it refrences is called "netr70.sys"

Now I don't want to do anything drastic (re-format my hard drive, complete system restore, or replace my RAM or other computer parts) until I'm absolutely sure that there's no other way.

Some background information:

My computer is a Compaq Presario SR5152NX, and the only thing I've changed is my graphics card to an ATI Radeon 5750, one of my Ram sticks to a 2 GB, and my power supply.

The problem existed before I changed my ram stick, and I only changed one ram stick, I have 2 in total, one came with the computer, the other I switched for a better one.

Talk about frustrated, I deal whith tech support... (for my sins) I have about 25 customers all with this IRQL problem. I have tried ACPI, and Reallocating IRQ's but the problem still persits. Pls help........

Answer:IRQL is not equal to or less than

This may point to a device driver conflict first update all your drivers. If the problem still persists do the following one step at a time first check that "this is a PnP OS" is enabled in BIOS next step would be to reset bios to defaults next try clearing bios via jumper on motherboard if still no joy try flashing the bios with a flash update from your motherboard manufacturer. I fixed a customers PC last week with the same problem.

this is my old crappy pc sp im not really bothered about recovering data, i cant even reinstall windows, when trying to reinstall windows from scratch the same error keeps coming up, i was experimenting with vista and have that on a different partition of the HDD and this boots up fine.....
system is AMD sempron 512MB 80GB HDD

i just want to wipe everything (recover some music if possible, which is stored on a seperate partition to the windows installation)

any help would be apreciated, you can add me on msn if its easier to communicate.

I have a toshiba gaming laptop, Qosmio x875-q7190. It's been great for about 2 years but has lately been giving me blue screens on startup before I can login. Now If I let stay on the blue screen and just let the laptop sleep for a while, I'll open it up and it will be at the login screen as though there is no problem, using this I made the laptop access safe mode boot with networking and it works fine. I'm unsure what to do from here though, I've ran through the troubleshooting options (System restore, refresh etc) they give me errors on saying could not complete and nothing was changed. I ran through the drivers, everything seemed to be updated, and I tried to run memory diagnostic, but it also gave me an error like the other troubleshooting options.
I really do love this laptop and I'm committed to getting it fixed.

We do need the actual log file (called a DMP file) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.
Please follow our instructions for finding and uploading the files we need to help you fix your computer. They can be found hereIf you have any questions about the procedure please ask

If you are using Blue screen view, who crashed, or a similar application, don't. They are wrong at least as often as they are correct

Let's see if Driver Verifier can help.

Please run Driver Verifier - Driver Verifier - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 & Vista (BSOD-related)

Let it run for 24 hours minimum.

If Driver Verifier flags a 3rd party driver, it will BSOD your system immediately, so be sure to save any work very frequently. A VERIFIER_ENABLED memory dump will [hopefully] contain the name of the offending 3rd party driver, if the BSODs are being caused by a software problem.

If no 3rd party driver is named, we then know the cause of the VERIFIER_ENABLED BSOD is "unknown hardware failure".

Hi!
My computer had 300 something mb's of ram, i we got another 256. I installed it, giving us a grand total of 640mb. Anyway, shortly after installing my computer began spontaneously restarting. I did some googline and turned off the automaticaly restart after sys error option. Of course the error happened again, except now I got to see the blue screen error which said something about IRQL not less or equal. Does this have something to do with the new 256mb of ram installation? Should I pull it out? THanks!

Answer:IRQL Not less or equal

Can you post the complete error message here?

To answer your own question about whether the new ram installed is causing the problem... pull it out... and see if things get better... if they get better, this means it is probably the RAM. But the error message would help everyone diagnose your problem better.

Hello!

I got a completely new PC since last winter:
Motherboard: ASUS P7H55D-M PRO
CPU: Intel Core i5 760
VGA: MSI R5770 HAWK
PSU: Corsair 650W

sometimes when I use my computer (not during games, or watching videos) I see the top of the screen is jagging and the screen goes black then I get a usual blue screen message: Computer is shut down to prevent etc. etc. Then when i reboot Windows after startup it's the same, but I get another blue screen now: IRQL not less or equal:

I'm not getting this message all the time, I got this 4-5 times and the first one was last week, when I have my PC since November 2010 and never had any hardware problems with it... I even changed to another VGA driver, but problem's same... Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

Answer:IRQL not less or equal

This blue screen can be a number of things. It could be a driver conflict, or could be a bad piece of hardware. Being that it isn't something that you can replicate by doing a specific thing, the test that I have to see if it is a driver is a bit hard. If you want to give it a shot though, boot the system into safe mode and run as you normally would. If you don't get the blue screen then chances are it is a driver conflict in which you would need to go through drivers one by one, uninstalling and reinstalling until the issue stops. The other option would be doing a fresh install from scratch.

If you still get the blue screen in safe mode, it could be a hardware problem. If you haven't already, run a memory test like memtest86 (can be downloaded from memtest.org) right after you get one of these blue screens. If you fail, then I would take a look at the RAM.

I've had this prob with other versions of windows especially on newer high end systems which ended up needing a BIOS update to correct the situation however sometimes it was due to a bad memory stick..not necessarily bad but some portion that windows is trying use durring install but might normally not be accessed is hit and windows installer chokes (windows the OS has no prob with it in the end).

Try taking out all the mem chips and replacing one by one..verifying they count up on screen durring boot and display properly in bios...flash bios to latest version,...then pick just one to insert durring the install...if same..try diff single stick...also disconnect any unecessary devices like printers or add in cards, etc to reduce the possibility of some freak memory address or IRQ conflict for good measure

I keep getting a BSOD and the dump says IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL I have searched and tried most things I have found. I have run memtest, RAM is fine. I did a complete format and fresh install of XP Pro. I am getting the BSOD and random crashes to desktop when I am playing BF2 Demo. System specs are in my sig. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Answer:Someone PLEASE help me (IRQL Not Less or Equal)

Usually in my experience that's been caused by a bad driver. The error message should mention a file as well? From that you might be able to infer which driver.

Are you using the nVidia drivers that came with the BF2 demo?

Hi guys,

Recently started getting an IRQL not less or equal bsod stop error...

Seems to happen only when im using my O'Neil Thermal Printer.

Everytime the software: PrinterDemo, fails to print the .txt file i send to the printer, the application locks up and i have to restart my laptop and while restarting the system gives me the bsod error.

I dont think a mini dump is even being created as if i remember right when its dumping memory, a little % indicator is shown at the bottom of the bsod, but all i immediately see is: Memory dump complete.

Some details about my laptop/hardware:

Apple MacBook - 80GB Windows Partition

O'Neil Printer: Serial-USB Connector to allow me to use it as my mac doesnt have a serial port.

Driver for printer is updated and configured correctly, and the printer works most of the time, but there is just the odd occasion where it doesnt, and im afraid its going to, at one point turn into a serious issue.

-Any help/info would be appreciated.

-Thanks

Answer:IRQL not less or equal

Just in case you can...

Hey all, it looks like I've posted on the wrong place, so I'll post it here as well;

Initial post:
Greetings,

Here I am once more with a new problem. I had a good spell of 2 years or so without any problems, but alas time has come when I managed to crash my system once more.

Things you will be wondering about;

1- What exactly is the problem?
Well the problem is that whenever I start my computer, it takes 10 times more to start Windows 7 and when it starts, I constantly get Blue Death Screen message which headlines; IRQL NOT EQUAL OR LESS.

2- What did you change to cause such a problem?
Now these are all just speculations for I cannot be sure what caused the problem. My computer was working fine only an hour ago but there is more to it; About 20 hours ago I received a message from Windows 7 stating that it located a virus of sort. So I told the program to delete it, afterwards it asked me to restart but I've been busy with something so I didn't.

About an hour ago or so it said the same thing, only this time there were two virus type of things. (Btw I'm not sure if it's a virus per sa but more like backdoor, I can't recall the names) Anyhow I told it to erase them and then I again didn't restart, instead I installed a new game. When the game was installed I was like, fine then time to restart the pc.

Ta da! Blue screen, IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. I kept the pc on just to see if this was a constant problem, as it turns out, it was indeed a constant problem. ... Read more

Answer:IRQL Not Less Or Equal

Now that I've read the posting instructions for this set of problems here is the new set of information;

? OS - Vista/ Windows 7 ? Win 7 Home Premium
? x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 32-bit
? What was original installed OS on system? This one: Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? It is an OEM version.
? Age of system (hardware) 1.5 years I think
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? It wasn't reinstalled
? CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHz 2.67GHz
? Video Card - ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series
? MotherBoard - FOXCONN G41MXE series
? Power Supply - brand & wattage | Can't quite open my computer or the guarantee will be removed.

^
|

Yeah if I open my computer's case, there is this little sticker and it'll go off. Once that happens the computer's guarantee is considered invalid for the manufactorer can say you opened your computer's case and damaged the said hardware.

Question: IRQL Not Equal To

I keep getting this error on my fiancees computer that says DRIVER_ IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL that also comes up with a seemingly random 0x code. It happens mostly when playing Fate and just happened when running SpyBot. Any ideas? I've updated all drivers, did a RAM test. I'm thinking an HDD scan of some sort.

Hello,

I have been getting the Blue Screen Of Death with the message 'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL', almost every time I quit 'Internet Explorer'. It never happens when I am not online using desktop programs and games etc. It seems to have started when I installed a broadband router via ethernet cable. I'm guessing it must be a driver or IRQ conflict, but I'm not sure. I have recently replaced the memory with new ram, but that hasn't solved it. I am about to install a wireless router to see if that can solve the problem, but I would greatly appreciate any help with this annoying problem.

I used to get this BSOD on a desktop I built and the solution was switching out the PSU. I think the first one was too weak, but on this, I don't have any ideas. Thanks for any help!

Two immediate problems

Avast and Norton are both known causes of BSOD's. I would remove both and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Hi,

Daemon tools was blamed for that BSOD. I see you removed it, but you also have to remove the driver.

hi i just built my first computer, and it is crashing often. I know that the ram that i got (ocz reaper ddr2 1066) has failed, but it is stable at 800mhz and my computer is still getting the BSOD frequently even when the ram is set to 800mhz. sometimes when it crashes it says memory modules (which i assume is because of the failed ram) and most times it says driver IRQl not less or equal.
how do i fix this?
thanks

My computer starts perfectly fine. Then I log in, and I get the BSOD that says "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" and then sometimes it says "Storport.sys"
I've pinpointed it down to having to disable Norton Internet Security.
However,
I can't log in to my computer. Not even in safe mode.
If I choose "Last Good Configuration" I can get in for a few moments, but I don't think it's even long enough to disable the program. Probably only a minute AT MOST.
I've been reading about this problem online, and it says that even if I do a system restore it probably won't fix it.
Is there any suggestions you guys have???

Answer:Bsod - irql not less or equal

Hi-

Did you install any new hardware devices or update any drivers? You probably have some kind of registry error or a corrupted registry.

If you did install any new hardware, uninstall it now. If you updated a driver, roll it back.

Yes, another one..I saw a lot of similar posts (in many forums), but not all the error codes are the same..I thought I'd show you the error codes I got and maybe you could help my figure out that's the cause. I'm running a Lenovo N500 laptop (1 year old roughly) with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I get these BSOD screens only when I'm in my dorms, when I'm at home it doesn't happen..the only thing different is the network I'm connected to (I guess, everything else is the same). I don't know if that has anything to do with it, maybe it was worth mentioning.
I uploaded the files (a screenshot from the Problem Reports and Solutions with all the details, plus the files 'involved' or something..according to Windows. I'd really appreciate any help.

I started getting this error on this gigabyte motherboard system a couple months ago with Windows XP Pro.

Updated drivers, changed memory and even did a fresh install of XP.

Today I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 and hoped that it would solve my problem. It didn't.

Can anyone help?

I have the dump files...but don't know what to do with them.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome

to upload the dump files you need to zip them. Then attach then using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form

If you need help with this let us know

Hi there,

I am getting this BSOD quite often (several times a day).

My system specs are
- Windows 7 x64 ?
- Is the original installed OS on the system
- an OEM orversion (Installed in a Toshiba Satellite R630)

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 1.5 - 2 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) I re-installed the OS a couple of days ago.

Any help would be very much appreciated... I have reviewed the dirvers and seem to be up-to-date... I thought the problem was due to Thunderbird, then to Openoffice, my external keyboard (HP 2.4GHz Wireless Multi-media Keyboard and Mouse driver) but could not find the solution.

Thanks in advance

Virtually all blamed on tcpip..sys and the usual true cause is either a malware app or firewall. I would remove McAffee and replace with Microsoft Security essentials

I looked up this blue screen error and saw alot of different reasons that cause it. I haven't seen this error since I got my system working excellent,,or so I thought. The newest edition to my system was mem and after that a video card (posted via my system) the error shut me down when I was trying to download a very large program. I first got a message that the disk space was to small and then the death screen. the screen time was very short it was gone in less than 10 seconds/ I read alot of forums on this and but its confusing because they could all be correct. How can I find out what caused this error.

Answer:[SOLVED] IRQL not less or equal

To see the blue screen without the computer restarting, go to Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup & Recovery Settings button > System Failure and remove the checkmark from 'Automatically restart'.

The full BSOD message and error code will help pinpoint the cause of the problem. From your first error message, it could be related to RAM, virtual memory, corrupt drivers, hard drive space...... in fact, IRQL_not_less_or_equal errors can be difficult to pin down without the BSOD details.

How much free hard drive space do you have left?

What are your swap file settings? (Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Performance Settings button > Advanced tab > Virtual Memory Change button)

To test your RAM, run memtest on one stick of RAM at a time to test for any errors.

Direct link to pre-compiled bootable ISO (click the link to download the zipped ISO file)
http://www.memtest.org/download/2.00...+-2.00.iso.zip

Unzip the file and burn the ISO to CD (as an image, not as data) to create a bootable CD. Reboot and go into the BIOS. Change the boot order to 'CD first', save settings, insert the CD and reboot. This will start the program. Run for one RAM stick at a time (very important, to prevent false readings) for at least 10 passes each and post back with the results.

I just recently upgraded my pc case yesterday on Saturday ever since there my pc has been randomly freezing (screen, mouse, keyboard) and you have to hit reset button to reboot. I tried to fix this problem by self browsing the the forums with no results (made mini dump files but couldn't get WinDBG to work right) so before i do more damage i decided to make a post before i perform a clean install of Win10 and hope that fixes my issue

I'd like to add that i also added a 3 SDD to the system when changing pc case

if there is anymore info or procedure needed to help resolve this issue please let me know

Thank You in advance

My PC has recently been hit with a IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error. The error screen I get has this to say

"Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFFa82c4281ab0, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF80002411557"

I have tried installing clean up programs in Safe mode, but when I do, it throws up the error screen and reboots again. I have .dmp files as well as an error event log, so hopefully that helps narrow it down some. Any ideas on where to start?

Hello,

My OS is Win 7 64 bit OEM, and the PC came with minor overclock already from cyberpower.com. I've had the pc for 18 days, and had maybe 3-4 bsod previous to the one today (sorry can't rem the error message with those). Today altered the overclock settings in bios, and got the bsod again (info attached) when playing Lord of the Rings Online. Previous bsod's happened not when gaming.

Checked drivers and all are up to date. Ran deep scan with avast free, no malware was detected.

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer.

Answer:BSOD IRQL not less or equal

Hi,
Nothing much info in single dump so it'll much better if you follow this instruction:
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Anyway your dump has bugcheck 0xA = IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL could be caused by driver or RAM.

Start troubleshooting by removing Avast and replace it with MSE.
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Then update these drivers:

Code:
yk62x64.sys Mon Sep 28 01:19:31 2009 --> Marvel Yukon Ethernet driver
copperhd.sys Tue May 23 20:51:13 2006 --> Razer Diamondback

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

It's a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit (OEM). I've gone through and updated every driver through system tools and have unistalled and reinstalled any necessary programs within the last month. I have not messed with the registry as that is above my knowledge to do so. The BSOD is intermittent, however I mostly use Internet Explorer, Word 2007, Itunes and/or Final Draft 8 when this seems to occur the most. Any insight would be appreciated.

Answer:BOD:Driver Irql less or not equal

Hello Zare, Welcome to Sevenforums!!

I have taken a look at your Dump files, and it seems most of your drivers are considered up to date as they're all July 13th 2009 Except one. ( Your Nvidia Video Card )

nvlddmkm.sys Thu May 14 15:48:07 2009 (Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers)

Please Remove your Video card drivers In Device Manager.
1. Right Click My Computer go to Manage.
2. In the Left pane click Device Manager.
3. Expand Display Adapters
4. Right Click Video card and Click Uninstall.

Then Download Driver Sweeper (Guru3D - Driver Sweeper)
Follow instructions to remove Nvidia Drivers. Then refer to the link Above (Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers) to Download latest drivers and install.

Your Dump Files are Showing IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Which is referencing Memory. Most of the time this is a driver, but you only have 1 that needs updating.

After you update video card i would recommend Testing your Memory. This could take 6 to 8 Hours (allowing 7 passes) Refer to this thread for help running Memtest86+ (RAM - Test with Memtest86+)

Post back with the memtest86+ results and any new BSOD that may have occurred.

okay so i've started getting frequent BSOD's with the error irql_not_less_or_equal, i think it was. sometimes it would say driver_irql... so anyways, i would have all followed the BSOD posting instructions but i get a BSOD every time i try to run the exe file. anyways i havent installed any new software or hardware recently, and i bought my computer roughly a year ago, and installed windows 7x64 around half a year ago. the original OS was vista. I used bluescreenview on my other computer (the one that doesnt work now) and it said there was an error with some file that started with nto and was a kernel or somewhat.
so i attached my most recent minidumps, hoping you guys could find something out using just that.
again, i wasn't able to follow the posting instructions, except give you the basic information and the dumps, because i guess a BSOD whenever i try to complete the other steps.
