Question: Hp Pavallion Dv2416US

And there's a $200 Mail-In Rebate.

$851.99 Is the final price out the door, but since I work at Office Depot, My price is:

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, so before anything id like to say i wasnt lazy and i did do a research as to what is happening to my laptop and follow the steps other did but didnt work for me.
I have a dv2416us laptop, ive been the only owner, this laptop is always sitting on a rack sort of thing, i only use it to surf the net and to dj, well last nite i turned it off normally and it went off without problems just like usual, this morning i went to turn it on and the screen stayed black, quick play button lights came on, power light, came on, BUT the charging battery light didnt light up nor did the hard drive light, actually the hard drive light blinks a couple times when you turn it on and then the light goes off, hard drive does not spin, the fan does come on. Ok so here are couple things ive done: did the holding power button for 30 secs without battery or power cord = didnt work. Did the taking out the ram and puting one by one = didnt work. Disconnected the motherboard battery and heres what happen: i plug the power cord and the hard drive light kept flashing i then put the battery back in and got a long beep and 2 short which meant theres a display adapter problem, so i took the battery out and back in and it didnt do it anymore, unpluged it and plug it back in with the battery and without and no more beeps, now keep in mind i never got the beeps when i first turn the laptop on in the morning and found out it wasnt working. so i connected the motherboard battery and the beeps havent happen agai... Answer:HP DV2416US wont boot please help

I've got the same laptop and had the same problem. The problem is the GPU. I did what the LaptopXpert said in this article towards the bottom (http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f108/my-hp-pavilion-dv2000-laptop-wont-turn-on-248909.html) and it worked. For the most part. It still just lights up and doesn't post sometimes, but it will turn on after a few tries. It's been slowly degrading, making me have to do more tries before it will post and start booting. It also started turning itself on into that pre-post lit up state and draining the battery. I think I'm going to have to reflow the GPU again and probably for longer than the first time (I don't have a heat gun so I used my wife's blow dryer).

Even though it worked for me on my first try, I still don't think it's one of those processes that works every time. I probably just got lucky. If you do try it, hang onto your foil as you might need it again. Also, if you haven't taken apart a laptop before, you might not want to attempt it as this laptop was a bit challenging to pull apart (not the hardest, but certainly not the easiest).

Of course, if it's still under warranty, see if you can get it fixed through HP.

The HDD light doesn't come on, either The power light and the volume/quickplay lights come on, too. I've tried switching hard drives and RAM, but neither has worked. I've also tried the "take out the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds" thing to no avail. Where should I start?

This past week, I noticed that my laptop screen goes partially black when I scroll or move the cursor.   It's goes black in section or small blocks.   It will go away if I continue to scroll up or down, but then comes back.  I've removed battery and restarted which did not help.  I have also noticed when this happens that there will be overposting of text or pictures.  It is doing it as I am typing this text.   I have to scroll to be able to see what I am typing.   I have not recently installed any software.  I believe all my drivers are up to date.  Any help would be appreciated.

I WANT TO KNOW THAT THIS MODEL LAPTOP IS COMPTEBLE WITH WINDOWS 10 OR NOT .

Answer:HP PAVALLION G6 2228 TU LAPTOP

Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. No, I'd afraid this computer HP Pavilion 2228tu is not officially compatible with Windows 10.HP hasn't released drivers for it and it was probably not tested for W10 compatibility. HP wouldn't officially support it with Windows 10.Windows 7 and 8.1 are officially supported on this PC model.Windows 7 and 8.1 are also good choices - they will be supported by Microsoft until year 2020 and 2023 respectively.  You might try to run Windows 10 but if any specific or driver related issues occur, HP support may not be able to assist you > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05195282 I'd recommend you keep either Win 8.1 or Win 7 on it. Hope this helps.
