Just a brief note from Queue

Question: Just a brief note from Queue

Hello folks:
I am new here and I don't want to step on any toes. I have; as always, lots of questions, and at least as many answers. my most current question is kind of interesting in my, at least a few days of experience, I have never seen this before so I am here seeking the wise and willing to endevor on my behave to puzzle with me how to unlock this box: Dell 4700 service tag 559pp61 has an upgraded cpu SL7PY bios version A10 four sticks of ram white slot [email protected] and BLK slot [email protected] so 4 Gb please feel free to comment and so forth But the issue is now after several years of service I went and cleande the interior with a ESD vacuum pulled the cooler and cleaned the grease replace the grease yes I know call it what ever it still looks and feels like grease and I know there are all kinds if new products STOP. the issue is after all is assembled the bios displays tyhe dell LOGO and will even when (F2) is pressed show "entering setup" but everything hangs at the point the activity indicator is hung a more than 90 % but stops there even over night. now I have attempted the reset Cmos procedures and have the display change to text of bios structureindicators in dos and then text error "Floppy Diskette seek failure please run setup" or "invalide configuration please run setup" now what is very puzzleing is that I can not read from a floppy disk nor enter setup to change anything ANY SUGGESTION? lets twist it shall we see if we can break it all together and send it to the recycler where it probably belongs BUT FUSRT lets twist it and see if it will still spin fast enough to watch netflix.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Which printer do you have, someone will advise on correct setup? Also do you mean the print Icon from within an application was pressed before the printer was installed? If so when the message comes on-screen, do you have the option to expand it, or click on "File" or similar to end the print queue? j.

Hello folks, simple question here,
I have one note 2007 installed on my pc and want to just make a small tweak to it that is a nuicannce in my opinion more than an atcual problem. What i want to do is when onenote closes (meaning the main application) i want to have its tray application close itself. Trust me, it is useful and i have been reviewing this application and like it for starting college but find it annoying how i have the tray application open even when the program is closed. If someone could tell me how to do this it would be appreciated. And i do know about disabling the icon but i dont want to do that as the tray application i find has plenty of usefull features.

Answer:Close the one note tray icon automatically when one note is closed

Hi guys,

I've been having trouble getting my computer to print to any printer at all. I am running Windows 10 Home 64 bit on an HP Pavilion p6 series computer.

I have removed and reinstalled drivers, bought and tried new printers, restarted the computer, deleted the print queue (even though there was nothing there) and pretty much tried every other solution that I have found online.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Lee

Answer:"The printer queue is full" but there are no items in the queue

Probably suggesting things you've tried, but..
Have you tried the print troubleshooter?
E.g.
Settings, search Troublesh... , in the search box type print, search, and run the troubleshooter.

Try Tweaking.com's Repair tool.
Follow the cautionary steps, and select just the printer related repair(s) - there's 1 at least.

Have you checked your default printer is what you think it should be?
(E.g. Windows key + X, Control Panel, Devices and Printers)

Thanks for your help!

Answer:How to recover deleted note on vista note gadget

There will be still something remaining in the file where Sticky Notes save the notes to. This can be found in

%AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt

put this in search bar and you'll get a file in search results, click on it and then open it with Notepad. you'll find all your important notes in it.

Question: MS Fax won't queue

I send about 100 faxes, one day a month..I was once able to create the document in Word, 'send to' 'fax recipient', and put as many names from my Office Outlook address book into the send to line as I chose, and Fax would just dial them in order.

I now try to insert say 10 recipients--and the fax doesn't start sending..I check the outbox, and two or three of the recipients are queued (never the first recipient I inserted), and the fax will sit happily for five or ten minutes, then start sending to those in the queue.

If I start over with just one recipient, when I hit finish, the fax starts sending--the faxes waiting in the queue first, as if the new one kicked the others awake.

I uninstalled Norton Internet Security, and that worked...for one fax, then back to the same.

Any suggestions?

>>Edit: A fax to a single recipient works like a champ--two recipients, about half the time----three or more, doesn't work.

Question: Print Job in Queue

My Thinkpad is a 3000 c200. I have Windows XP. In the middle of printing a 16 page document my printer stopped after 2 pages. I cleared a number of print jobs, however the last one won't clear/delete (which is the 16 page one) despite indicating that it is deleting...nothing has happened in 3 hours (it is obviously hung up) hence I cannot use my printer at all for anything....the error message is "error processing command".... FYI My printer is an all-in-one model 5600Can someone please help.Thx Al

Answer:Print Job in Queue

Try disconnecting the printer from the laptop. It has happened to me a few times. Then select delete task in the printer management and leave it alone for a few seconds, maybe a minute or so. It should delete eventually, but shouldn't last three hours.

Please suggest me !!!!!!!

I have developed a dll in VC++ 6.0. It has two threads. One thread puts the messages( in the form of strings) in to the queue. Another thread will read the message from the front of the queue. Application using this dll creates a queue in the local machine. This queue is persistent. One more application running in different machine should be able to access this queue and add the message. Later application should not use any socket communication for adding the message in to the romote queue. It will use ADO component for adding the messages in to the queue. Please tell me which is the best queuing mechanism. One answer is Advanced queue of ORACLE. It has some limitations. so please suggest me any other queueing mechanism.

thank u

Question: Unrar Queue?

Hey

Anyone have any suggestions for software that I can queue up a bunch of rar files to be extracted (or zip files) and it will do them one by one?

After taking over some of the IT work at my current job, our previous guy stored all the systems backups in rar format and we need to extract them all before putting them on new media.

One by one is painful.

Your question is a bit unclear, but I am thinking you want to utilize two printers on the server in a "load balanced" configuration instead of having one printer used all the time.

In Windows It's called Printer Pooling. The steps are the same for 2000, 2003, and XP OS.

I was wondering if there is a website or program that I could use to queue up web videos?
As in one ends the next one begins automatically.
Basically a youtube-like queue service but instead for other websites like NASCAR and Yahoo.

If there is not a website or program that can do this.
Would it be possible to script it in a program like AutoIT?

Hey I have a bunch of .avi files that i want to convert to .iso files that i can burn onto a dvd..... currently i am using nero, but you can only do one at a time..... so i was hoping to find a program that will let me select multiple files to queue up so that i can just leave my computer on while i'm at work, and come home to find a bunch of .iso files i can just burn..... so anyone know of any?

Answer:AVI to ISO converter with queue

I've had no problems queuing up multiple avi's (in this case TV shows) using NeroVision and after it does all the converting to resize them, the DVD is burnt and ready to go. BTW, I'm using Nero 7.

I have two PCs on which I have installed Win 7 Home Premium. They are both Dell PCs and I have a Dell MFP1600n networked printer plugged into my router. Everything prints fine, but when it's done printing the job won't flush out of the queue. Since it's in the queue, when I reboot both systems, I get another copy of the document. HOW can I get the queue to empty???

Answer:Win 7 Print Queue won't empty

Hope I can help

Try this

Go to services. Look for print spooler, make sure it is set to automatic

If that is ok

Turn off printer, disconnect from the computer.

reconnect and turn on

If that does not help reinstall and look for new drivers and do step 2 again.

If I cancel or purge a print queue in XP, it can often take a minute or longer to delete the item.Any ideas about what might be the hold-up? I've looked at the task manager, but can't find anything hogging resourcesPhilip

Answer:Print Queue cancel in XP

Is your printer a "parrell" connection???I have this connection and I find that it takes up to a minute as you said to cancel a printing job, and I am unaware that the USB printers do this as well as they are faster so the coomand should be sent to them faster

Yep, I've got yet another problem, this time on my wife's laptop - Sysinfo above.
She complained it was running slow and updating every time she shut down. I had a look and she was right. I checked for updates and she has four updates available - I checked 'details' and it says that all four are downloading, also that Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607 requires restart. I have restarted umpteen times including shut downs but nothing changes (the reported download progress remains fixed at 0%).
I checked the version level with 'winver' and it's version 1511. I'm guessing that it should be 1607 and that's why the Feature update won't apply and, until it does, the other four updates will remain stuck. Am I right and, if so, what can I do about it?

Unfortunately it seems you cannot copy and paste from within setup but I can (I hope) include screen shots to show which updates are 'stuck'

Hello, i've got a laser printer problem that i'm completely stumpped on and could use some help.

The printer in question is an HP LaserJet 4200tn that is installed on a Windows XP Professional SP1 machine. The problem is, the print jobs do not leave the que once they are done. So, when the secretaries show up in the morning and turn on the computer, everything that was printed previously begins to print again. The only way to clear the printer queue is to do it manually, which is annoying.

I've went into printers and faxes and deleted the printer definition 3 times, each time trying a different driver (the one that Windows comes with by default, the 4200 pcl6 from HP, and the 4200 ps from HP). But I get the same problem each time. Anyone ever run into a similar problem or have any ideas?

Answer:Printer Queue XP Problem

I had this same problem. In the printer settings there is something called print processor I think. Try a different one.

I have problem with 3rd party program (Chrome Component Updater) that keeps creating new BITS jobs every few days and all of them are stuck in suspended state, causing long queue in BITS job. This long queue negatively impacts my SCCM deployment and Windows
Update as there will be delay in processing their BITS job, or worse, their BITS job doesn't get the chance to be processed at all.
I know I can remove all the jobs in the queue by stopping BITS service, delete qmgr0.dat and qmgr1.dat files in C:\programdata\microsoft\network\downloader , then re-start BITS service.
However, this doesn't prevent it from happening again. After some times, that very same program will pile up jobs in the BITS queue again.
I have raised this issue to the corresponding product support, however, I'd like to know if there's something that we can do from the OS side.
I'd like to know is there maybe any way to clear a suspended BITS job if some time has passed since its creation date? Please advise.

My problem began when my Netflix app told me I needed to upgrade it before continuing so i went to the store app, clicked the arrow that takes me to downlads and updates, then clicked "check for updates." Nothing new ever came up. In my queue already are One Note and something else and both say "starting download" but never download. I deleted Netflix thinking i could reinstall it but that doesnt work either. When i click install on the netflix app itll say "working" but cannot go to my queue no matter how long i let it sit there. I have tried turning off my computer twice and that hasnt worked. The "Downloads and Updates" page in the store app will not let me click on OneNote or the other app that is trying to update. the other app trying to update or download is Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 runtime package. Im not sure what that is.This computer is relatively new to me so if you know whats going on with it and can help fix it I might need a very basic step by step institution.

running windows 98 2nd ed; printer HP deskjet840C; broadband connection.Have recently printed off several pages successfully and checked that no documents are waiting to be printed in printer " memory" queue;when I start up computer , printer also starts up and goes into "print" action, despite the fact that I have not asked it to print ANYTHING; then the amber "page purge" light comes on, I have to press that , then the normal green light to get it to purge a blank page, to get it back to " normal". this has happened on several occasions.the last time I asked it to print, I did that from the "file" drop down menue(if that makes a difference??). what, if anything, do I need to adjust; the printer is always switched on at the same time as the computer; this has happened several times in the past. I HAVE checked that nothing iS in the printer queue. Is this something that I have just " got to put up with" ??? the only time I can "get it to happen" is when I switch on the system and boot up the computer. ( I have not changed any settings on the computer and this has been happening intermitently for MONTHS)...is this just " one of those things" or is there a simple solution; each time it happens I have to purge a page to "reset" the printer; its annoying, if nothing else..thanks ,in advance....

Answer:printer wants to print but nothing in queue

Have you tried the obvious things like making sure that the printer cable is securely attached at each end and that the power cables are making a good contact? If you have a spare printer cable you can swap in it may solve the problem. It may also be advisable to obtain and install the latest drivers for your printer or even just delete the existing ones and reinstall them again in case there has been a slight, but non fatal, change made to them.

Situation - New Laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 connected to HP P1102W via existing wireless network. Printer works fine with other computers on network. New Laptop sees the printer and displays the same printer properties and preferences as displayed
on other networked computers.
No Print jobs reach the queue (Outlook, Word, Quicken, etc.).
Laptop is Dell Inspiron 5574 delivered 11/13/2014 and yes I have installed the latest drivers from HP.
Help.  Where do I go from here???

Answer:Print jobs not going to queue

Like everything else, the request for Print Test Page did
not go to the queue
You now need to open a second window that shows the printer's queue at the very moment when you click the
Print Test Page butten. Can you see anything flashing past? Attaching a picture (using snippingtool.exe) would help.
You should also carry out these tests:

Turn off the printer.Print a test page (as shown above).Check the folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. Can you see any files in there?Open the Event Viewer eventvwr.exe and examine the System branch for error messages with the current date stamp.Temporarily connect the printer to your PC with a USB cable, then print some test sheet.

I work for a School and a lot of paper is wasted when printing to a printer. I would like to know if it is possible to setup a printing queue service similar to one in libraries. For example if a print job is sent to the printer the printer does not print it straightaway and the print job is automatically paused in the queue. The user will have to click on their print job on the print server in the print queue and resume the print job to print it out.Any help would be appreciated?

Win XP Pro: SP3 Epson Stylus Pro XL.I am having difficulty with my printer. I am trying to print A3 photographs. If an error occurs during printing, it reverts to typing vast amounts of text, in all colours. I have tried to cancel the print via the printer control panel but it does not work. I have also tried shutting down both the printer and computer, but on restart it just prints text gibberish. According to the print queue one A3 print suddenly becomes 36 A3 pages of gibberish, amounting to 25Mb of data.when setting the printer up I have noticed that it always defaults to 6" x 4" paper, and settings are not saved at all. For example, if I set to a paper size such as A3 or A4 and then change from plain paper to photo paper, when I check the settings it has reverted to postcard size plain paper.I know its an old printer, but I have an important job to do. I have reinstalled the drivers but this does not help. Is there a quick way to flush the printer queue other than the normal "Cancel print job"?

Hi, How long should it take to delete a print job?. I deleted a 3.5Mb.print job 4 hours ago and it is still deleting. In fact applications are now 'Not Responding'. I have checked in Task Manager and the printer is still running.I think I'll see if there are any updated drivers. Cheers, Bill

I have this problem:Printer is setup on router (directly), so any computer connected to this router can print. No problem. But, one of those computers occasionally uses VPN to another network, from which moment on the printer is no longer reachable ...I'm looking for a solution where that is no problem. I tried cancelling all printer requests, but when I try to do any action on that printer (be it the cancelling of any job), he says he cannot do it, since he cannot connect to the printer (even if no job was already in the spool). The only solution I do NOT want to do, is stop my VPN ... I can reach my router with VPN on, so why not printer on same router. My printer is setup like :\\http://192.168.2.1:1631\My_Printer

Answer:sending to print queue

When you VPN to another Network your computer gets moved to another subnet. This will make any device that does not have netbeui like printers will not be visible to that subnet with out establishing a routing table. So, try doing this to the computer that VPNs...Got to the Command Prompt.Type the following...Route Add 192.168.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.254 -pThe fist address is the subnet your printer in on. The second address is the default gateway (the router) of that subnet.P.S. This is a networking Issue and should be posted in the Networking Forum.

I attempted to print a document on 9-12 and it will not print, and I cannot delete it out of my queue. I've cancelled the print job numerous times, I've shut down the computer, I've tried everything and I can't delete this one document. I can no longer print any other documents as well because this one just sits in the queue the whole time saying it's deleting. I can't restart the document either. It was a Microsoft Word document that I was attempting to print.

I'm not sure this is a hardware question, but this seemed the best match. If I was wrong I'm very sorry. Any helpful suggestions? Any additional details that may help I'd be happy to provide.

I can not figure out what is wrong. When I turn off my computer in the evening and re-start the next day, the printer automatically adds the documents I printed from before turning the computer off, and places them again in the print queue and re-prints them. I know how to delete items from a queue, but that is a temporary fix. This happens everytime the computer re-boots. Sometimes, the startup screen is not even open before I can get to the print queue to delete those documents. I have tried everything including un-installing and re-installing print driver, turning printer on and off, going thru settings, running a windows error scan. I can't find anything that is "checked" that would be causing this. The bi-directional printing option is turned off as well. Don't know if this matters, but the operating system is Vista 32bit and it's a Vostro 220 computer. Help - This is driving me crazy and I'm running thru paper like crazy, ugh.

I was trying to help someone who could not print. The print queue was present and could not be cleared with the usual cancel operations or by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software.

Any ideas? Do we need to do a repair install of Windows? Could the spooler service be defective?

TIA for any help.

My printer has a document sitting in the print queue with the statius as deleting, the job is 14.6MB. It's been sitting like this for nearly a week now. I have deleted the printer and re-installed it. I've stoped and started the spooler and also checked that there is no files in the spooler folder (I was informed that I should delete these if any and that would clear the queue also), but nothing I do is getting rid of the job and I can't print anything else.. Is there any other way to clear this job? Please help me.

i want new print queue feature

thats save the print queue items of last one week,

ie we want to reprint something we goto ex-print queue and print from there

instead of opening the word or any other program and then clicking on the print icon

this way we can reprint the file that we printed from the usb or dvd but didnt save it on our computer

Answer:save the print queue

Option 2 of this tutorial tell you how to manipulate the print spooler queue - but instead of deleting the entries you could try to copy them. Then you can reset them at a later time.

Suddenly I am having trouble printing everything in the print queue. I can print a few things, then it will lock up. I believe it is in my management level. I have followed my manufacturers suggestions which takes me to my Windows XP. It tells me there are 3 levels for print access and usage, i.e. print, manage print and manage documents. I am obviously in the lowest level now, with no control. I believe my level was changed when Network software was installed when I installed MS Office 2003 Small Business. In a business network scenario, only a 'Manager' would have full control of the print queue. In my situation, it is still a 'stand alone', single computer and printer. I have searched for these controls and can't find them.

I was just trying to print a chapter from a book online. For some reason, there was a problem. And when I then clicked on my printer icon, it just said under the status, there was an error. Right at the moment, it says "Deleting - Error - Paused- Printing". See, when I was trying to get it to go away, I think I pressed Pause. And pressed Cancel. But nothing has stopped there. I later tried printing a letter. But an hour later, that letter is the second item in the list, and no activity has occurred. The above seems a mess, right?

"Error" is not what you call explanatory. I tried to check through Windows Help. But it didn't advise me anywhere where you'd check for a proper description of an error. I know computers are capable of it.

So, all I see in the printer window to try is cancel. And has no effect now.

Answer:Printer queue stuck

Try Ctrl - Alt -Del and end the process.
If that doesn't work try shutting your printer off, then reboot your computer and see if that clears it.

I have 3 print queues that are retaining the printed jobs in the queue and every now and again the damn thing prints all the job again. I have checked that the keep printed jobs button is NOT checked/selected, but the queue acts ilke it is selected to keep printed jobs. I have 125 printer queues and only 3 act like this and they are set up identical to the others. I have reconfigured this twice on all 3 and they still act like they are set to keep printed jobs in the queue.

Anyone seen this and know of a solution, on the Microsoft site I am seeing posts but not a single reply about how to either run a job to clear them out a couple times a day or fix this so they act as configured. To NOT keep printed jobs in the queue.

Any help as always is much appreciated.

I am trying to print to my HP PSC2110 All-in-One (USB), but keep getting an error in the print queue (WinXP). the printer doesn't respond at all. i've tried...
- resetting the printer
- rebooting the computer
- restoring the computer to a previous state
- reinstalling the printer with the latest drivers
- cussing & yelling in very colorful language (most effective solution so far)
The printer will print a self test from the printer itself, but anything going through the queue just hangs.

first , I have windows XP SP2 if that would matter
and my question is :
in the queue option in IDM there is " download # files at the same time " and when I set the number to 1 it should only download one file then after it finishes that starts downloading another one .. just like queue

is that right , or I'm misunderstanding its function cuz it's not working that way .. it always download everything together unless I manage the downloading order manually

any ideas ??

another question but not as important ^^'

I integrated IDM with all browsers and found out some differences mainly between (FireFox,IE8) and opera:
1- both FF,IE have "download with IDM" option in the right-click options , opera doesn't.
2- both FF, IE when catching an FLV content get the correct file name , opera names everything videoplayback.FLV .

any ideas about that as well is so much appreciated , cuz even though I have like 5 browser but I love opera the most .

thanks alot , have a nice day.

Answer:Solved: IDM queue option

for no reason , it's working now ..
really didn't do anything ^^'
so I guess this one is solved , unless any one idea just for more knowledge

So while working as the print administrator for a large healthcare company, I had a big wig come to me expressing concern over a "vulnerability" with their network printers. So when he right clicks on a network printer on his computer, he selects "see what's printing" and can see the jobs that are in the print queue for that printer that are waiting to be printed. Now keep in mind, most times you can only see this if there is an issue with the printer not printing, such as if it's jammed or out of ink, or if there are too many secure print jobs eating up the printer memory and backing up the print jobs onto the print server.

We have several users who don't understand that after they send these secure print jobs to the printer, they need to go release them in a timely manner so as not to eat up the memory of the printer.

So his issue is, anyone can select "see what's printing" on these network printers and see the jobs sitting in the queue and can delete any print job from there. I have been looking to see if there is an option to turn that off, but so far I cannot locate anything of this nature. Can you disable the "see what's printing" feature?

Answer:Print Queue Question

Are you certain anyone can cancel somebody else's print job? Or, does that action require admin-level? I'm asking 'cause I want to learn more about this. And, meanwhile, if I run across a utility that might provide an off-switch to that panel, I'll post it here.

Hi, From the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and select Sevices.  Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.  Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder. Restart the computer and you should find the document(s) have been removed. Regards, DP-K

Brother HL-5240 laser printer on USB has worked correctly for 3 months. Now it no longer prints, with no error message.
Stopping the queue shows the job entering, but disappearing as soon as the queue is restarted.
I have stopped & started the spooler; deleted and recreated the printer with the latest driver but still no go.
I can print to another USB printer correctly so it doesn't appear to be a spooling problem.

I run Windows XP Pro on my desktop and Home on my laptop. I have both of them hooked up via a USB hub to a Samsung B&W laser printer model ML-1210 and an HP color inkjet printer, model deskjet D4100. Both printers work fine from both computers, with one infuriating exception!

Whenever something clogs up the print queue, I can NEVER NEVER NEVER delete the offending document! I click on the little printer icon on the task bar and open up the offending printer and select the document that isn't printing and NOTHING HAPPENS! I get the "deleting" message on the screen, but the document never gets deleted!

Just now, I unplugged the entire HP printer, and still no help! Now, I'm trying to print another document, but of course it won't print, because the ^(&()^*(&&)(&ing document I'm trying to delete won't delete!

Which software is screwing me up? Windows? Or one of the printer drivers? I don't know which software is running whenever I click on the printer icon and select a doc to delete, so I don't know which vendor to be mad at most! Moreover, I have no clue how to fix the problem since I don't know whose software is causing it! But, as you can surely tell, IT PISSES ME OFF!

Hia,

I work as technical support for a small charity who have a variety of PCs for use by elderly groups in care homes. There is a recurring problem that has stumped me since I started working here. The problem is that the printers will sometimes stop printing when there is more than 1 item in the print queue but will continue to print normally when the print queue is cleared. Most of the computers have the same EPSON D68 photo printer connected with a USB cable, so I thought it may have been an issue with that printer or the USB connection but another computer with a different printer (I don't have the model at the moment, I think it's HP and connected via USB) is reporting similar problems.

Although it is quite easy to work around this issue by clearing the print queue, this is really too complex for our users to deal with and there is no good reason for why the printer stops working through the queue.

Commonly what is happening is that a users will press the print button in something like IE twice, causing 2 items to spool to the print queue. Most of the time both will print normally but occasionally neither will print and all subsequent jobs sent to the printer will just stack up and to the user it appears that it's broken. The printer will be switched on and will have been printing fine just before and the print queue will state "Printing..." in the status for the top job. To fix all the user has to do is to "clear all documents" fro... Read more

If I attached the printer to a client I can share it and use but I have to keep the client ON for the others to use the printer,

Right click on the second document on queue that you need
click on properties.

General Tab > Put priority to 99

Go to control panel > administrative tools > services

Look for Print Spooler

Right click > Stop

Go to control panel > printers and faxes

Double click your printer, delete the document that is stuck

Go back to the services and turn Print Spooler back on.

I am trying to propose a solution for our small help desk. We need a queue and 6 phones. We are on a tight budget, but we need something that would allow auto-in, ACW (after call work or similar), when people call they can here any outages/connection issues. Then if they want to wait they will be prompted by a menu where they can choose the problem they are having and connect to the next available technician. We only need 6 phones. All help would be appreciated. This HD does not run effeciently.

Answer:Help Desk Phone Queue

Whats the approx budget? How big is your HD? I run one and we support 400 users 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Have you tried Numara's Track It, you can organize everything via email and paging and route new problems to the next available HD person.

Or are you strictly looking for a phone only solution?

I had a PDF Creator on my machine, it worked well until it died. I could not find the same one so I downloaded another one. It works well. But my print queue keeps telling me I have three documents waiting to print, but they are for the PDF Creator that does not exist. I can't delete the print queue because the PDF Creator does not exist.

Thats ridiculous, but how do I escape?

XP Home with SP3.

Answer:Cannot delete print queue!

I would start by killing the print spooler service at first then restarting it to try and clear the queue Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Right click Print Spooler > Stop Process > Right click and start process again. If that doesn't work then look through your Add/Remove Programs list and make sure PDF Creator is completely uninstalled, if not, remove it completely. If it is still acting up try to remove the PDF Creator printer port. Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > File > Server Properties > delete port for PDF Creator. By doing this you may need to reinstall whatever application your using for PDF's.

Hi gang, I just had a printer go AWOL so I went to storage to find an old printer of mine. Its an Epson Stylus CX4200. I connected it just fine but went to print and nothing happened. I clicked on the printing queue down in the system tray and it appears that there are 11 jobs ahead of mines from other users in my home, stemming way back to 2009. I have tried to delete them but the screen keeps blinking with refreshing going in and out on the title bar. How can I delete the previous jobs in the queue so that i may print?
Thanks in advance

Answer:Printer queue needs cleared

Go to command line -
Start > Run > cmd > [Enter] (In Vista use Run as Administrator)
Type net stop spooler > [Enter] (Leave command box open)
Go back to Printer Queue and delete jobs. If successful, go back to command line
Type net start spooler > [Enter] then Exit > [Enter]
This stops the print spooler service and restarts after deletion of print jobs.

I cannot delete a document from the print queue on a networked HP printer. I have stopped the print spooler and gone to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS. Someone told me there would be document files then and I could then delete them, but there are no files.
What else can I do.

Answer:Solved: Print queue problem

Usually if you delete the document, stop and then restart the print spooler, and then try delete again, it works.

I have also had good luck with clicking delete and then turning the printer off and on while its still trying to delete. That will sometimes kill it immediately.

Answer:Can't delete document from print queue

Often you need to 'cancel all documents' a number of times to clear it out.If that does not work, unplug the printer for 10 seconds and while the printer is doing its self test you need to restart the computer. This is a sure way of clearing the 'deleting' document that if stuck out of the print spooler. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Now the box is telling me nothing when I order a PC print command since I canceled printing on the printer console. Before now - the status box said 12 documents in the Queue once and "Printer is Offline" several times.

Hope no Window 7 Lovers read this !

Answer:HP Photosnart Premium Fax - C 309 Clearing Queue

I haven't run into printing problems with Windows 7 the way I used to with XP, so not sure of these suggestions.

Think that when a printer icon appears in the Notification Area you can view the queue and cancel jobs. May have to double click on it or maybe right click and choose whatever option.

Use Start - Devices and Printers - to get to a more-or-less equivalent of XP's 'Printers and Faxes.' Should be able to online/offline, manage the queue, etc. Note that when you right click on a printer there is a 'Properties' choice at the bottom and a 'Printer Properties' about the middle. You almost always want the 'Printer Properties' one. And, no, I have no clue why somebody thought both choices are a good idea.

If you are like me, after the initial period of disorientation getting used to the Windows 7 differences you will not be eager to return to XP.

unable to remove documents stuck in printer queue - tried stopping and starting printr service and rebooting but the files are still in the queue.

Answer:print stuck in printer queue

It sounds as if the document is stcuk in the spooler directory. The default location for this is C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS. If there are any files in there you could try deleting them.

Is there a good program, preferrably opensource, that can sit on our network and allow us to control how much a particular user/ip is allowed to print on a given printer. We have a color networked HP printer and people are using up the toner like its their job. Does anyone know a way i can limit users and set a quota or even have me release the job before it is printed?

Answer:opensource print queue manager

if it's HP it may be able to spit out some stats, my 2840 shows pages printed per username (shows AD username) , also shows document names they printed...

All it takes is a report sent to the CEO once a week for about a month, lol, you will notice a drastic reduction in printing once the word gets out...

refer folks to my previos thread on this called "printer wants to print but nothing in queue" ; am going to try this again, but ahve noticed that, THIS time when I started up, the printer again tried to print, then went in to "static" mode,(i.e."fault"), then "had a long think", then , SOMEHOW "corrected" itself, and came back to normal and purged a page.....am going to just see, each time I swtch on, how many times it WILL do this.....anyone any clue as to " what the heck is happening"....?????and, stating the obvious, there IS nothing IN the printer queue.......

Answer:printer want to print but nothing in queue;repost

I wonmder if this is some sort of progress....I again switched on the system and the printer again went to try and print, though nothing requested, then went into "fault" mofe for about 6 or so minutes. THEN had a think , purged a page and went back to "normal"...so what might i need to adjust on here? it sems that, if I give it LONG enough to "think" , it SEEMS to "sort itself out"...ideas please peoples..I again refer you to my previous posting ON this(see start of this thread)..

I have an hp deskjet 3320. It shows 1 document in queue that I cannot get to delete.  The status shows deleting- paused- printing, but I don't have it paused. Cancelling won't work. If I have 5 documents in queue, I can get them all to delete but the one at the top of the list. I have even tried uninstalling the printer software and reinstalling. I cannot use the printer when this happens and I can't put my computer on standby when this happens. It says to stop the printer spool, and I can't figure how to do that. unplugging the printer has helped, but I can't unplug the printer every time this happens, which is alot. please help.

Answer:printer-deleting document in queue

Sounds like your print spooler is hanging. To restart a print spooler on Windows 2000 or XP, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.  Scroll through the list until you find Print Spooler, right click it, and choose restart from the resulting menu.To restart a print spooler on Windows 3.x, 95 or 98, reboot. You may want to try to uninstall your printer drivers and reinstall them, ensuring you use the latest drivers from HP's site.  If this does not solve your problem you are into the repair the OS, repair the printer, areas.

is there a way to create a video queue like you would in windows media player by just dragging a bunch of video files into a playlist.. No program for mac or windows does this except windows media player.. I like to be able to watch multiple episodes of a show that i have without having to touch a thing once i drag them all into a playlist.. Id like to use windows media center since the interface is sweet.. but if it cant do that its a mood point for me.. any ideas/hacks/ or alterations that can be made to make a queue like it has for music.

Answer:Windows Media center queue ???

Hi, hawk2316, and welcome to the forums.

Have you tried making the play list in WiMP and then using that play list to view files in WMC?

This is a long-standing and trivial but irritating issue. From time to time I send a file to the printer and then immediately realise that I need to alter something (date, etc.). I remove the paper tray so the printer doesn't print and then open the printer dialog which includes 'Cancel all...'. Nothing happens for a long time and I often just have to reboot before I get the file/document removed from the print queue. How can I close the printer and empty the buffer? I use XP but had this with W98 before.

Answer:Deleting files in printer queue

Start/settings/printer then highlight the document and click Document/Cancel works if the document is still in the queue.Otherwise, switch the printer off line (not power off) and wait for the error message telling you there's a problem, which then gives you the option to Cancel. That works with the two printers I have, without much delay other than about 15 seconds before the error message comes up.

Random emails seem to be getting stuck in the SMTP message queue in exchange system manager. The problem doesn't affect just one user, but it doesn't affect all users at the same time. Emails just seem to get stuck intermittently. Help much appreciated.
