Razer Lachesis: First Laser Mouse from the Third Generation

Question: Razer Lachesis: First Laser Mouse from the Third Generation

Came across a decent review of the Lachesis this evening. The author is very blunt about what he did not like about it, but gives credit where credit is due. If anyone has wondered if the Lachesis is actually worth the price tag, read the review and see.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Razer Lachesis mouse is not working properly under 7 (jumping cursor).

The system cant find the mouse via firmware and also for firmware and mouseware it`s impossible to upgrade..

Anyone knows when razer is releasing new win seven drivers?

Answer:Razer Lachesis mouse

I'm using a Lachesis mouse, I didn't need to install any driver myself and I have no problems. You could try a different usb port but I'm afraid it wont help

Hi everyone,

This is such a great forum by the way - I haven't used it before but I've read a few posts and everyone seems so helpful! I'll try to make my situation as understandable as possible.

Firstly, the required specs:

? Windows 7 (Ultimate I think)
? 64 bit
? Brand new computer. I installed XP. Then reformatted to install Win7.
? Full retail version
? ~3-4 years
? ~1-2 years
? Q6600 2.4Ghz overclocked to ~3.2Ghz
? nVidia 8800GTS 320mb
? Asus P5E x48 (I think) - with Rampage Formula drivers
? Antec TruPower (not sure) ~500W

Have always used my Razer Lachesis mouse (used to be on old XP firmware/driers)
And then I installed Windows 7 (and I probably updated to the latest Windows 7 drivers)
I recently decided to upgrade to the newest firmware/drivers from the official Razer Lachesis page.
The firmware installs fine.
Upon installation of the driver, I got a BSOD.
Upon restart, it said I had a corrupt file of a 3 letter (.sys file) which I forgot. Something like 'cng.sys' maybe. It booted up fine though using the recovered option.
The Razer Configurator software didn't install and there was no more Razer folder in Program Files (but there used to be).
So I believe the drivers didn't install.
I try again, and I keep getting BSOD with some dump where the number counts upwards.
So I'm pretty sure it's because of the new mouse driver I'm trying to install for my mouse. Not sure what's the conflict though. Any help muc... Read more

Answer:Razer Lachesis mouse driver installation causes BSOD

Yah, from the past two crashdumps (both dated April 5), it's definitely the mouse drivers (Lachesis.sys reported for both), and it's performing the same exact thing. I can't tell without a kernel dump what's actually going on, but whatever it did, it looks like it's corrupted the crashdumps as well (lots of information is zeroed).

Are you installing the correct drivers for it? You are installing the Windows 7 64-bit drivers, yes? I've noticed as well researching this that many other people are experiencing awful compatibility issues with 64-bit version of Vista and their Lachesis, and I'm feeling that this incompatibility has transferred over to Windows 7 as well.

Further inspection has me eyeballing a particular driver that kept unloading itself, thrice in each crashdump, that being LVUSBS64.sys. I know from research it's related to a USB Logitech device, most likely a webcam or speakers, but not entirely sure on that. You should determine this based on your own personal PC setup. Whatever Logitech item you have, you may wanna go into Device Manager and right click the device then click "Disable". Restart the PC. Then install the Lachesis drivers and restart as usual. If it still crashes, just simply consider the Lachesis as being incompatible to Windows 7 environment. Otherwise, it may very well be the Logitech device doing something funky and the Lachesis drivers have been left with the bag.

Answer:Razer Lachesis 1.91 driver

Hi Cilx. Welcome to SevenForums

Here is a link to the latest firmware for your mouse :Razer Lachesis Firmware Updater v1.94

Download that firmware and then right click on the file that you have saved. Click on "Troubleshoot compatibility"

Choose "Try recommended settings", and you will see that it chooses Win XP (SP2).

Click "Start the program" and the Razer Lachesis firmware updater will run. Run it and your firmware will update. Install your new drivers and all should be ok!

Hope this helps.

I am currently using a Razer Lachesis for my computer, and in the past couple days I have encountered some problems. When ever one of my opponents use a rooting ability meaning that i get stuck to the ground or stunned or something along those lines my mouse clicking stops working. I can click all I want however it won't work. The only to temp. fix it that i have come across is to quickly Alt+tab out of the game and back in quickly...but once the opponent uses ability of the same type it happens again and again. I have tried re-installing the drivers, and so on but it doesn't work.

good day to all! i treated myself to the v2 model of the razer lachesis with the 5600dpi - it's nice! however.. i'm struggling to work out how to bind my extra mouse buttons in games without having to sacrifice a keyboard key for it anyway?
i don't know if this is just how razers software works as this is my first experience as a razer user. anyone know if it's possible to bind a mouse button without sacrificing a keyboard key?

thanks in advance!

Answer:razer lachesis 5600dpi

Greetings, vkbluu.

I would think that the Razer would have come with an installation CD, which contains the console for bindings. If not, then you might be able to find one at Razer Support.

I've recently reinstalled my Windows 7 x64 and i wanted to update my drivers and firmware for my lachesis.
I first installed the driver v1.10 ,restarted my PC and than i tried to update firmware using firmware updater 1.94 for windows 7.
After that firmware updater reported that flash was successful and that i should re plug my lachesis and restart my drivers.
I pressed enter after that to close message window and that was it ,mouse was dead.
My USB ports don't even detect it.Even snake logo is dead.Mouse scroll LED is still working even when i shut down windows.
I understand that flashing firmware is a sensitive matter but i don't understand where did i go wrong if i did anything wrong.
Lachesis Config is reporting correct driver(v1.10)but firmware is still v1.00 it should be 1.94.Did i complete firmware installation correctly?
Is there any way i could fix my mouse?

edit:its Razer 4000, and in Device manager nothing shows. There is no "Mouse and other pointer devices"tab.
edit2:found a guy on youtube with exact same problem as i.Faulty razer or firmware bricked my mouse by the looks of it.

Greetings. Ive got a problem with my Razer mouse and keyboard. Ive just downloaded Windows 7 compatible driver but it doesnt work for me at all. If i tryed to change dpi on my mouse it wrote me that no usb mouse found. It seems that driver for USB doesnt support this configurators. It seems that system work with keyboard and mouse but cant recognize them for external drivers. Anyone knows what can i do with that? It annoning, i cant use macros on my lycosa and i cant even change dpi and freq on my mouse. Thx for any reply.

Answer:Razer Lycosa and Lachesis + Windows 7

Hi Krezz,

i think i have the same problem like you do...but for macro part i haven't try it on.

one thing for sure, every time i start up my windows 7, the OS can detect my keyboard Lycosa but can't detect my Lachesis...but after i unplug the USB (i usually connect my Lachesis tru the USB port in Lycosa) and re-plug it again, then then windows can detect it. Strange rite?

So currently, every time i open my comp, i need to unplug and replug my lachesis.

Does anyone can help both of us? thx

hello all...

I have a problem with the mouse, the RAZER LACHESIS 5600DPI mouse I bought V2,
After some time I play with him, he just logs off me, I need to disconnect it from my computer and connect it again, as soon as it starts to work, this problem started and is still quite new, from the very beginning it started, I sent it to the company I bought from the mouse and they said that it is correct, in any case, I know it is wrong that sometimes the problem can happen after a full day of work and I'm not sure that a product has a long test of working Anyway I wanted to know if anyone has this problem as well? Does anyone have a solution? I went to a site and searched for RAZER to complain and report the problem to let me answer but I didn't find the site is the place to do it. Can someone help me in any way? I am the very aarich.

Hi all, I'm a new poster so sorry if I'm leaving anything out here...

A couple days ago, I bought a Razer lachesis 5600dpi mouse. I love it, except for one issue:

Whenever I use the "adjust sensitivity" button (up or down) or if I use a macro button, my keyboard seems to stop working and my desktop seems to act as if ctrl is held down (icons will stay highlighted even if I try to click off of them) and programs will act weird (for example, firefox will try to open in safe mode when I click on the taskbar icon). Stopping the application that starts with the program to customize mouse buttons and all that doesn't fix the problem, nor does using a different keyboard, a different mouse (once the problem has started), or unplugging and plugging the mouse back in. I just e-mailed the razer support team and am waiting on a response from them.

Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this with a razer mouse or any mouse? I'm new in the realm of gaming mice (this is my first one) so I'm kind of disappointed that I'm having problems. If you guys haven't, do you know of anywhere else I could go to find some answers? If I come across any more problems, I will repost.

I have a Razer Lachesis 4000 that i bought one year ago.

I started having a very, very annoying problem. The middle button sometimes won't work, the clicking at least, the scrolling works just fine. It's like, i press the link five times and it won't open, so i try again ten more times and it works ten times.

I tried changing some settings in the razer control panel, but no luck so far. I was thinking on removing the razer driver and seeing if thats the problem.

What should i do?

I haven't used the Razer driver with my Lachesis for a long while. It certainly won't hurt.

You could also try reseting the mouse to factory defaults (hold the profile button for 10secs). *nb it will remove all macros, assignments, poll rate settings etc

or the whole hog: uninstall Rzaer control panel, driver and do a factory reset.

If it still doesn't work - It could simply be the mouse is on it's way out.

TechPowerUp tells us that Razer has released updated drivers for owners of the Deathadder and Lachesis gaming mice. In addition, Lachesis owners get an updated firmware that reportedly fixes the jumping issues. Go forth and get your fix.

Deathadder owners may now download the new v1.9 drivers while Lachesis owners, me included, will be offered to download both the new Lachesis Driver v1.10 and firmware 1.91. The latest firmware for Lachesis improves the tracking performance and response time of the mouse.

Just as the title says

Hi guys I got a new mouse a couple of days back, it's one of those fancy Razer mouses with 12 buttons on the side that is used for gaming and stuff. I have an issue when I try to use usb 3.0 instead of 2.0 ports. ( my tower only has like 2 2.0 ports so I try to use those for other things ) I am trying not to buy a usb hub before somebody says it

On games ( fullscreen or Windowed ) quickslot controls where you can use the numbers on your mouse I can't use the 3.0 port as it won't recognize the side buttons but it will on the 2.0 port.

I am guessing this is a driver problem but I am unsure. Neither the native mouse driver for Windows nor the fancy Cloud Synapse driver 2.0 works. Is there another one I don't know about or is there a fix to this?

Answer:Razer Mouse - USB 3.0 port using 2.0

It could be that the 3.0 port is being provided by an add-on chip on the motherboard, rather than native to the motherboard itself, which could explain the compatibility issue.

While I understand that your ports are limited, plugging the mouse into a 3.0 port is a total waste of bandwidth and is not going to have any kind of advantage over using the 2.0 spec. Can't you just unplug one of your existing devices that is occupying the 2.0 port, and use the 3.0 for that to free up a 2.0 port for the mouse?

From my own past experience, using a 3.0 port for a mouse has occasionally caused abnormal mouse behavior.

You could also try looking in BIOS for an option to set your 3.0 port to "legacy" or the 2.0 spec. Some BIOS' will give you that option...

Hello, I've had the Diamondback for about 6 months now, but, whenever I try to use mouse buttons 6 and 7 in a game, they do not register. I do not know what to set them to in the driver GUI section. The only logical options that came to my mind were click, or button off, and still setting a command. Mouse buttons 4 and 5 have an option to just set it TO that, whereas the 6 and 7 do not. If anyone could help me, that'd be amazing

Here is a picture of the GUI.

Answer:Razer Diamondback 3G mouse

Some games are not set up to handle the extra buttons. Did you map the buttons in the Razer GUI, or in the game's settings? In the game, the Razer settings may be ignored. Try mapping the buttons using the game's settings.

I was playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 yesterday, so nothing that requires furious clicking and i was using the scroll wheel quite gently when it just clicked and sank down a few mm into the mouse.

The wheel is now slightly titled and has no "bumpy" feel when you scroll. The wheel only responds when pushed down (i.e using the click function of the wheel) and so you can't scroll pages etc anymore. I think that the wheel has simply come off it's hinges or whatever the axel was plugged into, so would be relatively easy to fix as I didn't feel anything break indide the mouse.

Unfortunately, the mouse has no screws and I'm clueless as to how to get inside the mouse! If anyone has the same mouse and knows how dismantle it, please could you let me know! Or any other suggestions are welcome.

Answer:Broken Razer Diamondback Mouse

I have no idea, but mouses are always junky. I happened to have loved when the middle wheel stopped clicking in my mouse, it made it so much easier to navigate. I could really hammer at the wheel then, took me no time to get to the bottom of a page. It just increased my efficiency by that much.

You likely won't be able to fix it, I wasn't able to fix when my mouse started requiring intense pressure on the left mouse button to "click". Another mouse always helps.

warning about the Razer Mouse

i got a Razer Mouse to use for gaming and it uses Razer Synapse Configurator to help control your mouse for games it cost me $85 for it

ok so far so good i'v been using it for over a year and it's a good mouse but on a new update
about a week ago thay added some form of a keylogger to the Razer Synapse Configurator thay call

"Stats & Hitmaps"

"Razer Synapse Stats & Hitmaps allows you to optionally analyse your gameplay by tracking all your
in-game clicks, movements and generated heatmaps"

it adds extra processes that do not need to be running just to use a Mouse and records your keystrokes
i sent in a complaint about it and thay said that there Keylogger is not malicious and i said i did not
say it was malicious but a keylogger and thay said if i did not like it to uninstall the Razer Synapse

i asked for a way to turn it off because i do not use it Razer says to send in suggestions to support
and that thay listen to there users

so thay think it's ok to not tell users thay put a Keylogger on there pc with a update with out saying
nothing about it and what are thay using this info for?

i wish i know more about how to track what info this Razer Synapse Configurator is sending to them?

Hey all
I've got a Razer copperhead that for some time now the factory software has been unable to 'find' on my desktop, but the mouse worked fine otherwise. I took it with me last weekend to use with my laptop and EVERYTHING worked, the configuration program, the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment, everything. Unfortunately, I got spoiled, and decided I wanted that level of functionality using the mouse on my desktop, so I upgraded the firmware, having already tried everything I could think of on the desktop. Nothing changed while using the mouse on the laptop, but when I plugged it back into the desktop, it lit up, but did nothing. Clicks, movement, everything gets no response.
Any ideas?
I've upgraded the mouse drivers (which fails because they can't 'find' the mouse)
I've upgraded the motherboard drivers
I've upgraded the bios
In the device manager it says the drivers are not installed, but every time (no matter what else is plugged into my USB ports) the wizard says it was unable to complete because "the name is already in use as either a service name or a display name"
To compound the issue, I installed a VPN client, Hamachi, just before the mouse failed, which I have since uninstalled
TIA y'all

Oh yeah, the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520, and both it and the desktop are running XP Pro

So as the title says, when I plug in or plug out my razer deathadder, my computer will automatically go into a BSOD. ALL THE TIME. The only time this does not happen is if I plug it in before startup and after shut down. I have made a thread a while before, on the topic of random BSOD and there were multiple offenders which I believed WERE NOT the problem. Now, I do know the exact specific problem. I can recreate this problem any time I want to. The BSOD range from IRQL driver less or equal to, to ntfs.sys. The problem is WITH the mouse and my laptop. How do I fix this? I have tried both the drivers for the deathadder and the one labeled windows. The USB port works with other devices, iphone, cooling pad, etc. But, it seems to not be compatabile with the razer deathadder? THIS IS RECENTLY HAPPENING. I had no such problems like this before. More information can be given. But I pretty much described the cause, that I do not know how to fix.

Razer DeathAdder drivers were known to cause BSOD's a while back. If you have older drivers installed, this could be the cause. Please update your drivers from the Razer support website: Razer Support

However it still installed drivers and apparently the mouse uses this .dll called 'RzCoinstaller.dll', whatever that is.

I still have an old Logitech bluetooth mouse I was trying to replace with this mouse... however I am considering chucking out the Razer due to Razer's hardware and software being rather overpriced low quality garbage and I worry about the drivers effects on my computer given the datamining scare with Synapse 2.0.

I intend to possibly replace it with a Steelseries Sensei or a Corsair Vengance M95 mouse, but how do I uninstall the Razer mouse safely without affecting the Logitech mouse? Cause apparently if a mouse still uses one of the drivers it will leave that driver alone if you uninstall via Device Manager?

I just want to be sure to get rid of Razer's drivers before I buy the next mouse first.

So anyone got a guide on this or...?

Answer:How do I uninstall a Razer Deathadder 2013 4G Mouse?

Hello IllusionaryInno,

how do I uninstall the Razer mouse safely without affecting the Logitech mouse?

The easiest way is to just unplug your Razer mouse and replace it with the Logitech one. Once the device isn't being used anymore, the driver won't be used either.

After switching mouses, you can do the following to remove the device and corresponding driver from your system;

Hit WinKey+X on your keyboard, and from the pop-up menu, select Device Manager. In the Device Manager, click on Mice and other pointing devices. In the drop down menu, right click on your Razer mouse and select Uninstall.A new window will pop up. In this window, click on Delete the driver software for this device. Now follow the on-screen instructions to remove the driver and restart your machine when asked to do so.
And that's it. Now the driver from your Razer mouse will be completely removed.
I don't know for sure with Razer, but you might also want to check the Programs & Features menu to see if there are any left over programs in there. To do so, hit WinKey+X on your keyboard, select Programs & Features from the pop-up menu and scan the list for any Razer software.
If found, right click the entry and select Uninstall. Then follow the on-screen instructions and restart your machine afterwards.

Cause apparently if a mouse still uses one of the drivers it will leave that driver alone if you uninstall via Device Manager?

Hey. As the title says, my Razer Naga mouse sometimes randomly just stops... And it is annoying the crap out of me every time

This happened with my Razer Taipan too as soon as I upgraded to windows 8 from 7.... It just got worse and worse, so at last I bought this mouse, and that this, not more than 5 months old mouse starts doing it, I am starting to get a little worried :/

I have the Windows 8.1 driver for my new mouse (at least I think so ).

This doesn't happen at any specific point where I do something special, it just happens (in games and on Desktop)
It isn't more than 5 seconds stop, but I would really want to get this fixed :/

Anyone got any clue what this madess is? Lol

I have searched help forums far and wide without finding a solution to this problem, or even a similar description. Every 10 minutes or so, my mouse will lag for 4-7 seconds, and then correct itself. What I mean by lag is that it will suddenly appear to me moving more slowly than before, but will still follow whatever direction I am currently moving my mouse. Clicks done during the lag will happen at the position the pointer was at when I clicked them, but a second or so after I clicked. During the lag, the movement of the cursor appears stuttered and jittery, as if I am dropping frames, yet any action on the screen continues without any such interruption. At the end of the lag, the cursor suddenly jumps to a new location, presumably where it should have ended up after all the inputs I gave it during the lag. My mouse is a Razer Abyssus, sampling at 1000 Hz and set to 3500 dpi. It is a wired mouse on a USB port.
The lag does not occur in sync with any obvious system traffic, and does not affect any other activity, such as keyboard input or talking over Ventrilo or Mumble. It can happen just as easily, and last just as long while navigating webpages as when I'm playing a CPU intensive game. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers, changing the USB port, and shutting down multiple background tasks such as iTunes and Adobe checking for automatic updates. It started about a month ago, and I don't recall installing anything that may have caused it.

So I just updated Razer Synapse on my desktop PC once it was complete I lost the ability to use my Naga mouse and keyboard (not Razer). I pressed the power button and my PC immediately shut down, which I thought was a little odd since I did not hold the power button....Anyways I restarted the PC and when it booted up the resolution was changed and I was not able to utilize the mouse or keyboard. I tried starting the PC in safe mode and it still had the same issue. The mouse and keyboard will function up until windows 7 is loaded. The only thing I think it could have been is that while synapse was updating AVG popped up saying it removed a potentially dangerous file, could that have been part of the synapse software?...Any help fixing this issue would be appreciated!

Answer:Updated Razer Synapse, now Keyboard and Mouse will not function.

You could simply do a System Restore from a command prompt - Microsoft Windows Help to a restore point prior to the upgrade was done.

Forgive me if this is long, but I have spent a whole day trying to figure this out and have hit a brick wall. I'm running XP SP2, and recently bought a brand new Razer DeathAdder mouse from an online shop. Upon plugging it in and installing the drivers from the CD, I noticed some weird behaviour. The mouse button was being clicked randomly without me touching any buttons, but only while I moved the cursor around. So I opened a file with some text and moved the cursor around over the lines so I could see what it was doing exactly. As I moved it around, 10-20 times a minute it was randomly clicking the cursor onto a different line, and running the macro I assigned to one of the side buttons (being just a press of the letter 'a'). The drivers on the CD were the latest, however the firmware was v1.25. I wasn't going to update it to v1.27 because it only fixed one unrelated bug with waking a computer out of sleep mode. However, I decided I would update the firmware just to rule it out. First time it seemed to hang and failed, I must have pressed the wrong key in the wizard. Second time it failed again. This time I thought I bricked it since the mouse lights went off; plugging it in again did nothing. Third time I thought maybe I will kill the driver exe's running in the background, and try again. It flashed and updated the firmware successfully.

I still had the same problem with the random clicking for a split second. I thought perhaps there's a driv... Read more

So far (and this could change too, but..) I've narrowed it down to two mice (linked above): the Logitech Wireless MX1000, or the Razer Diamondback (Plasma Ed.)

I'm buying a new mouse-- I've read the reviews across the board, but none seem to compare the two, OR mention two particular things (comparatively):

I want the best mouse for gaming and advanced graphic editing... what do you think is best? Gaming--the only real requirement is fast (hah), and imaging...just being able to precisely move the mouse. I've heard the MX1000 is a bit bulky for anything but graphics. I saw it in the stores, and it seemed -ok-, but unfortunately, the Razer isn't readily available.

Any help/suggestions welcome--and thanks in advance!

Razer has now let loose a left hand version of its popular DeathAdder mouse claiming that it is the first rodent specifically aimed at left-handed gamers

Answer:Razer delivers DeathAdder mouse for left-handed gamers

Hey, my fellow Lachesis users. I have the 4000 dpi version, 2 actually. If I program one of the side keys to any single key I have a problem. Do you?? I use the front right side key for melee. Try ths. Program any side key to some single key. Then open word or notepad. get the curser ready to type. Press and hold the left mouse button and as your holding it press and release the side key - the let go of the left mouse button. It's a problem for me because while gaming if I am firing a weapon while being rushed I sometimes melee befor letting up on fire. Anyway, 3 of 3 Lachesis mouse I have tried this on are the same. Hold left mouse while press and release side key programed as any single key, then release left mouse and that programed key is acting like it's depressed until you press any of the side keys again. True????

Is that normal. Can I set it up so it does not work that way?? I tried doing a macro but that way the macro won't interupt the fire/left mouse.

Uploaded with

there is my Lachesis config. I tested it again and found that the programed button remains like it's being depresses until you press any of the other PROGRAMED SIDE buttons. The 2 behind the wheel will not un-stick the programed key and for a side key to un-stick it, it can't be off.

hello!i can cheaply get a razer deathadder and a razer lycosa keyboard
instead of logitech gaming mouse g400 and microsoft digital media keyboard 3000
can buy both for 400kr 200 each. original prize of the death adder is about 600kr is it worth the money?

Answer:Is it worth changing mouse from logitech g400 to razer deathadder?

Sisrace, Just my opinion. But, gaming keyboard and mouse is really a personal prefrence. The prices you quoted are very close to retail prices in the US, depending on which model they are. If you have the opportunity, I would try to use them for a couple of days before purchasing. The Lycosa appears to be discontinued here. I guess, all I am saying is that for gaming, they are personal preferences. For the price you quoted, it sounds like an OK deal to me. But, that's no guarentee you will like them in gaming. Personally, I have a Logitech G510 and G500. If they both died today I would have a G510 and G500 on the way tomorrow. Others feel the same about their Razor products.

Hi there,

As described I my middle click function has stopped working on my mouse, at first I assumed it was a Chrome update and that I could no longer use it to "Open link in new tab" however it seems that it now does absolutely nothing and I am unable to reassign it. I used CAD software (Solidworks) that requires the middle mouse button for me to be able to pivot my view about the pointer on the screen (also a few PC games I play would be much smoother if I could do this).

I have all the latest drivers and firmware installed.

I did find this thread that I thought might help me; Middle Mouse Button , however the screen shot at the bottom shows the Mouse Options on the Control Panel having a lot more option than it does for me, the only options I have are switching the left and right mouse buttons, double-click speed adjustment and ClickLock.

The buttons assignment window that I get using the Razer software gives no more options other than to assign the forwards and backwards buttons ("Windows Button 4" and "Windows Button 5").

Thank you for any help you can give.

Answer:Middle Click Mouse Function Stopped Working (Razer Deathadder)

I had that problem when I installed "software" for my mouse. I just use the default drivers that Windows installs upon connecting.

Have you recently installed any new software for your mouse or somehow relates to your mouse?

I have a problem, so i'm running at lenova g550 laptop with a creative fatal1ty 1010 mouse. I just recently bought this laptop and moved my desktop mouse to my laptop however it does not work. It will click but the mouse does not move. I need it for work/gaming because my pc is fried. The mouse will work sometimes, but other times it won't(still click-able but will not move). I have added a mouse pad surface (which shouldn't matter since it can be used on any flat surface) Tried updating the drivers, uninstalling - reinstalling, different usb port, been through device manager settings, still nothing. Usually when my mouse is active the side will light up and the sensitivity button will glow. I know it's not the mouse, but I don't know exactly what could be wrong.

Beta - When software is being released, the first release to the public is usually called an alpha release (alpha being the first letter in the greek alphabet); a second, more stable release, is called a beta (the second letter in the greek alphabet) and this is usually the last one before a final release.Alpha + beta = alphabetThere are many other steps but that's just a quickie answer...Sorry I can't help with the mouse but maybe a reinstall of the software will help.

I have a Perixx laser mouse and every so often I hear the windows sound that it has disconnected from the usb (link below).  My mouse become unresponsive for a short while until I hear the sound that it has reconnected and all works fine again. I would say it just does it randomly just now and then, but I cannot figure out whats wrong with it. I have tried some fixes that I thought would help, like changing it to a different usb port and I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I also looked on their website and it tells you to just use the window driver, so there is no manufacture driver for it. The only other thing I could think of is that I use a hard mouse mat and sometimes it gets oily from using it by hand. Do you you think this could cause it? That maybe the laser has run over a oily surface or something?

I live in Japan, and recently got this mouse for about 40 bucks. My old Microsoft laser mouse (the 6000 model I think) was started to fall apart on me and stop working randomly, so I found the Elecom mouse and got it because it had a decent dpi (1600) and wasn't super expensive.

Now I'm starting to regret my purchase. I don't know why, but the mouse lags A LOT. When I first move it after idle it takes a second, which is ok, but there are times when I am using it and it lags or freezes up completely for as much as 3 seconds or so. It also slows or skips sometimes when I am moving it around the screen, either taking a huge movement to make the pointer move a small distance, or making a tiny movement move the pointer straight past what I was trying to click. My old laser mouse never had this kind of problem, so I am wondering if anyone can advise me on anything?

I'm not sure if there is signal interference, either through the desk or from other wireless objects, or if the mousepad (a black non-reflective one, but I also tried a freebie plastic one with white and blue and a picture on it) is messing up the laser, or if this is a sign that the battery is already dying, or what. I just got the mouse about a week ago, so this is pretty annoying, especially when I am trying to play games.

I'm thinking of buying a new mouse as my old Microsoft explorer 2.0 has started to perform poorly. I had a look at some Logitech mice today and I came accross this one:,CRID=2135,CONTENTID=10917

Now I'm not specialized in this and so would like some advice. I like the design and the laser capability of the one I linked above but didn't really have time to examine others.
I'm not necessarily looking for a game mouse with thousands of buttons on it but a good response time one to work on my wood surfaced desk.
Also, it MUST to be wireless and would prefer laser as it's more precise.

Any advise please?

Answer:New Laser Mouse (advise)

It looks nice, only thing a lot of people look for in cordless mice is the batteries - the fact that they take AA batteries means they'll need replacing more often whereas if you got, say an MX1000, it has a charging cradle so doesn't require you to replace the batteries.

Just a thought....

I have Windows XP with service pack 2 and never ever had this problem with any other mouse before. The only way that I see to fix the problem is to shut down my browser and open back up again(I use Internet Explorer 6.0.) Is there an easy way to fix this problem????

Answer:Laser Mouse Problem

There are many and varied reasons for this error in IE, it has been around since Windows 95 and in all versions since, but I don't think your Logitech mouse is one of the reasons at all.

One common reason involves the Google Toolbar, if you have it installed then uninstall and reinstall it again.

Also clear out your Temporary Internet files.

It sort of flickers/jumps about a bit around where it should be. It isn't constant, but every 2 or 3 times I move it.It's a USB item & I have tried it in several sockets, but it's the same.I don't have access to another unit to try it on.Any ideas out there please ?Am about to call PC-W, but I didn't keep the receipt for this,,,, but if there is a known problem with this model, it would be nice to tell them.thanks for reading this,,,,,

Firstly, I hope this is the correct Forum for this post.

I have a New HP650 Laptop with Win 7 64bit Home Premium installed.

I purchased a Bluetooth Laser Mouse BT which I installed from the disc provided.
Initialy the Mouse worked fine, untill, win 7 went into standby mode. When I went back into Windows, the Mouse would no longer work. Nothing I attempted would recover it. Switch Off, Switch On, Press ID Button to reconnect, nothing.
I Un Installed the Program and Drivers.
I then Re Installed and it worked fine, untill, and you know the rest of the story.

This problem seems to associated with win 7 going into Standby Mode and Recovery.

Does anyone have a clue about this Nasty.

Owen Carlton

Answer:Bluetooth Laser Mouse BT

Does the BT transceiver plug into a USB port? Check that the two options shown below are Disabled. The first is accessed from Device Manager under the USB Hub Properties. The second is accessed through the Power Options in the Control Panel then clicking on Change Plan Settings (for plan you use) > Change advanced power settings. There seems to be a common problem with USB ports after the PC goes into hibernation.

Hello everybody,

I am currently having a lot of problems with my new gaming mouse. I recently bought a Razer Naga Molten Edition, but its not working right off the box. Whenever my pc tries to install the driver for it, it just keeps on telling me that Windows can't find the driver for the mouse. I even went into my device manager and tried manually updating it from there, but it fails once again. I even tried resetting my USB ports controllers from my device manager, but it did not work either... And yes, I've tried all of my USB ports but non of them works for my Razer Naga. all of the drivers for my USB ports are also up to date.

After trying everything I could to make this work through Plug and Play... I decided to go ahead and download the actual drivers from the Razer website.. I tried using Synapse 2.0 and even tried using the Naga Legacy driver, but nothing seems to work. I tried calling the customer support from Razer thinking that they could help me out, but they just suggested that I return the mouse even when I told them that the MOUSE WORKS WHEN PLUGGED INTO ANY OTHER WINDOW 7 COMPUTER.

I am currently having trouble with my new Microsoft Sidewinder X4 asw well. ITS GIVING ME THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM THAT MY MOUSE IS GIVING ME.

I am running Windows 7 Enterprice SP1 64-bit on my PC.

OS=windows 7 (64) and Laptop is HP dv6t 2000

G500 logitech wired usb mouse was working intermittently for 6+ months and now has stopped altogether. (not receiving power from usb port, no mouse capability, not showing in devices and printers). The lights on the side of the mouse do flicker very occasionally as if it is trying to work.
The mouse does work on another laptop and another usb wired optical mouse will not work on the hp laptop in question. Additionally, of significance (I think) is that a thumb drive in USB and a new wireless mouse works on the laptop. Touch pad works.
Tried to date:
?Uninstalled set point drivers for mouse and installed latest version
?Ran System restore for a time period 30 days prior and mouse started working intermittently again but after a few days it failed
?Deleted hub routes under USB controller in device manager and restarted the laptop (per suggestion on a google search)
?Looked at device manager and noted no errors on any device
?Clicked on update drivers on all devices shown in device manager under headings of: ?Mice and other pointing devices?, ?USB controllers?, and ?Human Interface Devices? and all show latest drivers and working properly
?Shut down and unplugged laptop and removed battery (again google suggestion)

I am hopefully that the brains on this forum might have a suggestion to fix. The google search shows that there are a number of folks reporting this issue but I do not see many suggestions and none ... Read more

Hi Guys

I recently bought this microsoft laser mouse 8000 " bluetooth"
I bought it to replace my logitech laser mouse which was giving up on me after 2 years
I thought it was just because it was old that it was not working right as i tried everything i could. It would work fine for a while and then the cursor would just slow down and go really slow across the screen for a few mins, then it would work fine, then it wouldnt.....and on and on........ Finally it stopped working alltogether so i brought it to the shop and got the microsoft one to replace it.

I've had it for less than a month but right from the off it is doing the same as my logitech did..The cursor just randomly slows every so often and is very annoying, it just gets worse and worse till i have to revert back to my cable mouse, which i dont like at all....

So im wondering at this stage is there something wrong with my pc?
The logitech worked fine for nearly 2 years...

I have all updated microsft mouse software and drivers,
I have tried uninstall and reinstall several times
The microsoft mouse works via a bluetooth dongle that came with it which works fine when sending and receiving things with it
I dont think its the recharable battery in it because i tried putting a brand new battery in it when it goes funny like microsoft suggest bit it still doesnt work right!
Ive also installed on different profiles on my pc aswell to see if any difference..

The mouse has a light on it thats green and goes ... Read more

I need help finding a mouse that is as small/light as the Radio Shack Gigaware; doesn't have to be wireless. We have very limited choices here in the islands, I've been all over cyberspace but of course, I can't try it out.

I can use my right hand (after suffering a stroke) but after about 20 minutes of constant clicking (as in games) with the logitech ones (several models and $$), it's a dead end for me. The Gigaware is perfect except for battery life. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Aloha Much,

Answer:Mouse Help Please..small lightweight laser

You might look at the Gigabyte gaming mouse. It is not small, but has 5 configurable buttons and can switch between 1600DPI and 800DPI. It is wired (no batteries) and works quite well gaming or regular computer use.The best part is it is cheap.

Hi Every time I place the mouse into its receiver a pop-up box appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying 'Your MX 1000 Laser Mouse's Batteries are critical'. I do not understand why this is happening (it has been doing it for about 4 months) as it is a rechargeable item and the batteries in the mouse cannot be replaced as far as I know. The mouse has 3 green lights on. I have asked Logitech and they are talking about the Logitech SetPoint files being corrupt and to reinstall but in Clean Boot. This is far beyond my knowledge so does anyone know an easier way please. Thanks Di

Answer:Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse

U need to go into ur windows control panel and selecting the install/uninstall programs. Find the Logitech setpoint application and then unintall it. THen reinstall using either the disk, or download it from the Logitech website. Im affraid its the only thing you can do, I very much doubt that its a hardware problem. If u need any more help or a more detailed walk through just ask.

I'm trying to install a Trust MI-7570K laser mouse on my XP PC. I followed the very basic installation guide but couldn't get the PC to respond (the Device Manager does see the USB transmitter/receiver). I exchanged the mouse at the retailer but that one doesn't get any PC response either. Trust support simply referred me to the installation sheet. Has anyone got one of these mice to work with XP?

Answer:Trust MI-7570K laser mouse

Have you first pressed the button on the receiver then quickly press the one on the bottom of the mouse. It will not work without you do this

Several minutes, and sometimes less, after boot-up, the mouse becomes erratic, sometimes coming to a complete halt. Thinking it was either the interference of an outside signal or a build-up of static electricity, I have tried several things, including 1) rebooting, 2) disconnecting the power sources, 3) moving my external hard drive away from the mouse, 4) using different keypads to limit potential static build-up, 5) moving my entire system to a somewhat different location (fortunately, it's all on wheels) -- absolutely none of this works! Disconnecting the main power source and reconnecting it solves the problem sometimes, but only temporarily.

I have a brand new X1 Carbon Touch, WIndows 8 with a brand new Thinkpad BlueTooth Laser Mouse.   All drivers are up to date and have reviewed this problem with Lenovo technical support without resolution.   The problem is that while clicking or even just moving the mouse across the screen, the mouse will suddenly stop working.   The only solution is to reboot the computer.  Has anyone else seen this problem or have a recommended solution.

A couple of months ago, I purchased a new Logitech MX610 cordless, laser mouse. I was hoping to use this in conjunction with my system which has a Gigabyte K8N-SLI motherboard, 3200+ processor and 1 gig of DDR. My PCI express graphics card is only a Radeon X300 SE. Since installing the new mouse it has been very erratic with the cursor, so I have been trying to rectify this fault by following all the advice on Logitech website. After a couple of months I have tried everything possible, including putting the small USB connector onto a USB extension, so that it is away from the main computer system. Still, after it has warmed up for a minute or two, the mouse cursor jumps everywhere on the VDU. Has anyone else experienced this with this mouse, and been able to rectify it. I do like the build of this mouse, so I would like to be able to use it. Thanks for any help given.

Answer:erratic logitech laser mouse

Oddly the problem has been solved for many with Logitech mice by uninstalling the Logitech software and using the default Windows drivers for a mouse.

I'm not asking which mouse I should get. I'm really asking if laser mice are better than optical for first person shooters? I know that laser mice have a better dpi than optical, but does that mean more accurate or smoother crosshair movement in fps games? exactly how does it improve your gaming experience?

Answer:Solved: Laser mouse for gaming?

I switched from a Logitech optical to a Logitech Laser and besides my new laptop I think it was the best decision I have made. Its fast, smooth, and the software I found for it has allowed me to tweak out the multipurpose middle button.

I've been having this problem for months, somehow it would disappear, lately it's not disappearing. Today I was trying to figure out what could be the cause, my only culprit is my laser mouse.

This is what happens, I'll reboot the computer, everything boots fine as usual. I'll begin to use the computer, opening a program the mouse cursor will jump or it will take effort to do a simple double-click, and finally the worse is all my icons will grow to as large as they possible can, there is no solution but to reset, if I try to shrink the icons to their original size, I can't, because they will instantly grow to the largest size. I'm making a good guess that the laser is not working probably anymore, what do you think ?

I originally was thinking my ram, silly thought, then I thought maybe my monitor, and I came the conclusion my mouse, only thing left.

Answer:Laser Mouse - Oh not it's growing Icons

Since you consistently refuse to provide you system specifications, how do you expect any help?

Hi all!
I have a cordless laser mouse that has decided to act up. Sometimes it won't let me drag items across the screen - it seems to disengage itself. Occasionally, it acts as though it has been clicked twice instead of once. It even ignores clicks! I have changed batteries multiple times, and used compressed air on the bottom. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer:Problem with my cordless laser mouse

how far is it from the reciever? Are there any obstacles in the way (like a desk)?

I am in the market for a new mouse. I am thinking about going cordless this time as I am tired of the dealing with the cable.
I do play a lot of games. Mostly MMOLRPG and occasionally FPS. I am just wondering if any one as having good to say about the Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Mouse ?

Answer:Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Mouse

the G7 is one of the best, if not the best wireless mouse there is ATM. it's been updated from the MX1000, which is really good.
