Calendar sharing is not available with the following contacts because of permission settings on your network.

Question: Calendar sharing is not available with the following contacts because of permission settings on your network.

Hey guys,

Having a problem with Exchange 2010.

I've created a distribution group named All Staff, in which I have placed all the revelant staff in our school. When I try to share a calendar with the group I get the error message
"Calendar sharing is not available with the following contacts because of permission settings on your network."

I am able to share the calendar with individuals but this really isn't efficient.

The distribution group got the email [email protected] upon creating it.

Other information:
-Using Windows Server 2008 R2
-Client is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
-Accessing mail through Outlook Web Access

Thanks in advance and do ask for any other information you deem necessary.

Kinds regards,
Jack Pickup

Preferred Solution: Calendar sharing is not available with the following contacts because of permission settings on your network.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, everyone. I have connected my laptop & desktop via wireless router to share internet connection and files. I want to burn to DVD what I've saved on my desktop to give it some much needed room since my desktop doesn't have a dvd burner. I have shared internet connection however I can't get the file share to work. I can see the my desktop drive I specified to share from my laptop under My network places->view workgroup computer. When I click on the desktop drive being shared, this message appears: \\Home=yb2p...is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found."
What the heck does that mean? Thanks for any info.

I have two computers on my network. Both use Win7-64 Ultimate and both have Homegroups enabled with all the file types enabled (video, printers, etc).
My problem is that I get an error message when I try to connect to any subdirectory under the users name (on the other computer). I can see the file structure and can see the subdirectory, I just cannot open it up when I click on it (using Explorer under the "Network" heading. The error message is something like this: You do not have permission to access (network directory name and file name). By the way, I have enabled sharing with my C: drives on both machines. Any ideas of what setting I am missing?
Edit: Forgot to mention that I can share files with other drives and subdirectories, just not the ones under C:\Users\(UserName)

Is There A Way For Me To Share My Contacts With Other Pc's On The Network. I Want To Share The Contacts On My Server Pc With The Other Pc's On The Network. I Am Using Outlook 2003 On All The Machines.

Answer:SHARING CONTACTS WITH NETWORK PC's

The only way I can think of would be to put the contact in their own .pst file and move that to a server share. Then map to that .pst file within outlook on each machine. The only problem with doing it this way is that only one person at a time can access it. There may be other 3rd party utilities out there that may assist you with this.

Im on my laptop right now, and came to ask a question about an issue that sprung up a few days ago, magically.

I used to be able to access my PC's shared folders without a hitch, but suddenly, it says they are all unavailable. Even if I browse to my PC via Network Places > Entire Network, etc, I can see the shared folder icons, but I can't get into them. It says I don't have permission to open the folders.

Any ideas? I can access the other computers on the network just fine, but not mine. As far as I know, all of the Workgroup settings are correct, and I didn't knowingly change anything that could have obviously affected this.

I even have shortcuts on my desktop to shared files that I work on, but they won't open. Says the drive or network is unavailable.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

In my office, we have 18 workstations connected via the LAN to a server running MS Windows Small Business Server 2003 and is the domain controller as well as central storage for everyone on the domain. All the computers have MS Office 2003 Professional with Outlook's Business Contact Manager and the latest updates from Microsoft.

When an employee leaves the organization, their e-mail address is deleted. We have a rather high turnover rate in some departments and as a result I am regularly deleting e-mail accounts from our ISP. The problem is that as employees come and go, people's contacts lists get out of date fast. This isn't a problem for me because I update my contacts folder every time I add or delete an employee. What I'd like is to have a central Contacts folder reside on the server that each user's Outlook program would use in addition to any personal contacts they may have.

I looked into the Business Contact Manager but I couldn't make much of how it was supposed to work or if we needed to buy addidtion software for the server (MS Exchange Server?).

Could someone shed some light on this for me? All I want to do is have everyone's Contacts folder up-to-date!

I have two PC's set up on a small network at home. Both are connected into an ADSL modem/router.Each member of my family has an account set up on each PC, so that they can log on to either to browse the internet or work on their own files.I am trying to set things up so that all their files, shortcuts, etc are the same on both systems. To do this I want to be able to share the "Documents and Settings" folder on each system so that I can easily copy any new or changed files across from one system to another. When I try this though, and look at the files via the share, I (admin account) can see everything on the local machine, but when I try to access anything inside the remote share it says that I don't have permission.I tried booting the system up in Safe Mode last night so that I could look at the permissions for "Documents and Settings", but this only appears to allow me to change the permissions for the local machine, and not add any for the remote one.How do I get round this?

Answer:Sharing "Documents & Settings" across my network

click here may work for you. But the simplest method may be the one I first used before using a server, I got a new hard drive and put it into the pc that was always on, Then made a partition each person and shared it.

Hi

I hope this isnt a repeat ask for help but ive had a trawl and cant find anything similar so here goes...

I have 2 PCs both running vista 64 bit that travel in a pair flight cased up. theyre both connected to each other over thier wired network ports to enable the transfer of files between the 2 machines. 1 of the machines now has a wireless adapter fitted to enable me to connect to any wifi thats available (these machines travel around so internet connection is usually wireless and on differing networks).

What Id like to achieve is sharing the internet connection between the 2 machines and still maintain the local network between the 2 machines but I think this is producing some IP conflicts somewhere along the line and the internet connection is therefore very unstable... sometimes its fine on the machine with the wireless card but the 2nd machine wont see the internet connection, other times they both say theyre connected but this doesnt last long.

no amount of ip flushing, renewing or repairing seems to produce a solution and its exhausted my limited knowledge of network settings...

any suggestions anyone? apart from the obvious ditching of vista!! :confused

Long story extremelt short. My network was working, router died, put old router back on network with same ssid and password. PC's get online but thats it, can't for my life get them to share files so gonna wipe the slate and start over.

Heres the problem. I do not have the patience to try to hunt down every setting I changed when I setup my home network months ago so is there an easy way to set all netwok, sharing and related settings back to default in W7? If I can do that I can have everything back up and running in 30 mins tops but I'm just too frazzled atm to fix this.

Hi
I'm trying to set up network sharing with my Windows 7 laptop and 360, but I've hit a wall after following guides

In the sharing tab of the wireless connection properties window, I can check the box to enable shared networking for my Local area connection, but the guide I've seen says I also need to go into advanced settings in the sharing tab as well to check the boxes of all needed networking protocols. The only problem is that I can't get into advanced settings! Every time I click the settings button in the sharing tab of my wireless connection properties, a grey box saying "please wait" pops up and the window freezes! I can never get past this please wit box and so, I can't check the required boxes in advanced settings.

For reference, here's the video guide I was watching
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bALXVEDUd34
1:40 is where I get stuck

Do you guys have any idea what could be causing this freeze and what can be done.? Also, is there another way to check those boxes without going through that settings button?

Thanks

I've got Windows XP, newly installed Office 2007.

Here's the history: I formerly had Outlook 2000, and my .pst went over the 2GB limit, so my Outlook stopped working. Did a patch that truncated the file below 2GB, tried to bring it back into Outlook, but it didn't work.

We installed Outlook 2007, tried to bring back the >2GB .pst, but it appears to be corrupted (we assume--is it?), won't work. When we tried to bring back the truncated file, the first time (we replaced duplicates) it brings back email and over 8000 reminders (some are simply emails, others appeared to be contacts and calendar entries); the second time (we did allow duplicates) I got a few of my tasks back, but not all, and it didn't bring back reminders and does not populate contacts or calendars.

Any suggestions most appreciated!

I was sort of happy when I found that Vista came with a calendar. And then disappointed when after I had input all my contacts with their birthdays and anniversaries, they didn't show up in the Calendar...

I don't suppose I am, but still I am asking, do I overlook something or is this by design? Why don't Windows Calendar and Windows Contacts integrate with each other?

Answer:Vista Calendar and Contacts

When you double click on a date for example to setup an event, on the details pane on the right at the bottom you will see a section named "Participants" (actually i run the french version so it could be named differently on the en-US one)
When you click on "participants" it will open the contacts window

With regards to the loss of your entries, i don't know?? did you try to open the right calendar (left pane) ?

my calendar doesn't show the birthdays of the people I manually added but just the ones synced with facebook. Can anyone actually confirm that it is working with Outlook.com that contacts sync their birthday into the birthday calendar or just any calendar on outlook.com or the phone?
They didn't get this to work on Windows Mobile so I am wondering if they still didn't manage this!

I work at home using Windows XP and a remote desktop connection (RDC), specifically Terminal Services. I want to be able to sinc my pda with my Outlook calendar and contacts (don't care about the email) which are located on the remote server. My pda does not support the remote connection, so that is not possible directly. Besides the RDC, we have web Outlook, on which I can get my email, contact, calendar... everything... through the web, without connecting to the server through the RDC. I have set up a pop3 account to download the email to my hard drive, but this is not what I want to do. I keep far too many emails and would just as soon not download them, since all I want downloaded are my calendar and contacts so I can sinc it with my pda. I don't even care that I could not upload from my pda. All I want to do is to get my up-to-date calendar onto my pda, so when I go to meetings I have it with me. It is ok, if I have to enter new calendar items directly through the RDC and not upload from my pda.
The question is...can I download my calendar and contacts through a pop3 account, or otherwise??? Also, is there a way to do that without downloading the emails?
Thanks for your help.

Trying to recover Outlook contacts and calendar from a HDD that cannot boot..... Is there a way to get the .pst and .ost files Click to expand...

Sometimes the hard drive is too defective to retrieve any files. Often a "hardware" and/or a "software" method can be used to retrieve some or many files that were not backed up for some reason. The "hardware" way is to install the hard drive into a USB enclosure and connect it to another computer. The "software" way is to boot to a "rescue disk" (CD, DVD or USB flash drive). My choice is Puppy Linux.

On my friend's Win 8.1 computer, he accesses his email [email protected] using Gmail. He also has a Windows phone and accesses that same Gmail account there.

On the phone it is set to also sync the Contacts and Calendar. But the Contacts and Calendar are not syncing. He claims that it used to work, and that seems to be true since there are a lot of contacts listed on the phone.

I've done some research and found that Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is used for this syncing. I've also found that there is inconsistent info about whether or not GMail still supports EAS. Some sources on the web say Gmail does not support it any longer, some say they only still support it if you have Google Apps for Business. But my friend does have Google Apps for Business, I confirmed that by checking in his Gmail account, I can see the history of the billing, he has had it for almost two years.

Can anyone help clear this up?

Thanks

I'm currently using WLM as my email client with my ISP's email account and not signing in to my MSN account.

I can import contacts and the like but their birthdays don't appear in the Calendar unless I sign into MSN and then only the contacts' birthdays' that I have in MSN appear in the Calendar.

So if I don't want to use my MSN account with WLM then I have to create the Birthday calendar manually...

This is my gripe with WLM, it "encourages" the end user to use a Live mail account or all the features in WLM don't work.

If I'm wrong about this could someone explain how to get non MSN contacts birthdays to appear in WLM calendar.

I have a lot of friends on Facebook and I want to keep my Microsoft account attached to it. But I only want to see some of those friends birthdays on my calendar and lock screen. Plus I want to see my non-Facebook contacts birthdays in my calendar.
When I turn birthdays on under Microsoft account, it shows ALL my Facebook friends and my contacts. So I just keep it turned off. ?
Is there any way to set my phone up up so that the calendar only shows the birthdays of those actually in my contact list? I have my contact list filtered so only those that I really know are in there.
I am using the WP8.1 Preview on a L1520.
BTW, I have Chronos Calendar installed and use that to put appointments into and show appointments on my home screen. But that reads from my Microsoft account so I just assume that can't help.
Thanks!

Answer:Is there a way to filter birthdays in the calendar like you do contacts?

I don't think so. Since it's synced, I think the only way is to unsync and manually enter their birthdays

We are running a Small Business 2003 server with Windows Office 2003. We are currently using the system with no problems however we would like to utilize the ability to access a master calendar and contacts. We have no idea how to do this. Is this in the realm of possibility?

I want to continue to use Outlook as my main email client (sorry, but the built-in app in Windows 10 is little more than a pretty toy, even my phone's email app is more powerful and configurable). I have Outlook 2010 installed on my PC and Outlook 2013 installed on my laptop (I prefer 2010 though), and I access about half a dozen POP3 accounts using both machines, using rules to transfer mails to multiple folders, etc.

The one (and thus far only) plus point I've found about the native Win10 mail/calendar app is that it syncs nicely with my contacts and calendar on my Android devices (via my Google gmail account, which I basically only use for syncing not for actually emailing, as I really don't need any more active email accounts!).

My question is how do I get Outlook 2010 or 2013 to use the new Windows 10 calendar? And ideally sync the contacts too. That way my PCs and my Android devices will all finally be in sync without having to fiddle around manually.

Answer:Using Win 10 Calendar/Contacts within Outlook 2013

I guess no one has any thoughts on this then?

Not to worry anyway, I'll stick with GO Contact Sync Mod ; I didn't realise it did Calendar syncing as well as Contacts now.

And after a bit more looking, compared to Outlook the new Calendar/Mail app seems like a dumbed-down kiddies toy anyway. Fine for a small phone screen perhaps, but woefully underspecified for a main desktop PC with multiple email accounts, folders, processing rules, etc.

I have recently bought a W8 tablet, and also use a W7 PC. I use Outlook on the PC, and will be using the tablet while on the move, sometimes disconnected. I want to be able to take my emails, contacts, calendar and some documents with me on the tablet.

i intend to use SkyDrive for the documents, and will use the mail app, or install Outlook on the tablet to have a copy of emails on it, but I am not sure how to make sure that contacts and calendar are synchronised on both machines. I use a local to UK mail provider (btinternet).

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to align contacts and calendars across both machines? I could rejig my email set-up if needed

Answer:Synchronise contacts & calendar between W8 tablet & W7 PC

I used to just copy the outlook folder from my PC to my laptop (assuming the same version of outlook on both) over the network using freefilesynch , low tech but it gave me an exact copy of what I had on my PC on the laptop before I went out...

When I got back I did the same again but in reverse if I'd added anything else whilst I was away.

I finally got Mail App's email working. It picked up all the mail in my Outlook 2016 pst file.. However, it didn't pick up any of the events or people in the Calendar and Contacts from the same pst file. I thought that was supposed to happen. What do I need to do to import my Outlook 2016 calendar and contacts?

Windows 10 was released today, you'll have to give it a little bit of time to allow software developers to update their programs.

Hello,

I purchased a Lumia 900 last Spring, and synced with Outlook 2007. At that time I was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8, and my contacts and tasks disappeared, though my calendar was still intact. My contacts still reside on WindowsLive (though I have not been able to find my tasks/reminders). However, when I save the contacts on WindowsLive, and try to import as into Outlook as a .csv (DOS) file, as per the instructions provided, I receive a "Translation Error" message stating that Outlook was unable to initialize a translator to build a field map (I would include a copy of the entire message if I could figure out how to do so in Windows 8).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Hello. I hope this is the correct forum.

Two questions about syncing an iPhone.

1. My iPhone 5 was at capacity so I deleted songs. I then backed it up to the iCloud. Now my iPhone 6 has larger capacity. How can I sync all songs in my iTunes library to the new iPhone? I assume there is a manual way of doing this and then the songs will sync to the iCloud in due course.

2. I've never known how to sync my calendar and contacts between my Outlook and my iPhone. How do I do this?

I have a PC with Windows 7.

Thanks.

So, for various reasons I need to restore a full outlook profile including emails, contacts and calendar. The target PC has a new installation of Windows 7 RC-1, the source of the data is a full copy of an old Vista installation which had the Outlook profile as part of an Office 2003 install. I believe Outlook stores the whole lot as a .pst file - do I just need to locate that and copy it across? IS it that simple? I'd like to also restore the email / user account settings and all the email folders from the old Outlook profile.

Thanks!

Answer:Restoring outlook email, contacts and calendar

All you need is the pst file, but you will still need to enter in the settings on the new profile. Once it is configured and set up, you can import the old PST file to populate the folders, contacts, etc.

Hi,
i have one Outlook email account and with it, my email, contacts and my tasks (these last under OneNote).
I have my calendar in a PST Outlook 2007 file, which i keep sync'ed with my phone thourgh a specific software.
I intend to install Office 2016 in my PC and unite everyting under this Outlook account i already have.
So the question is: how to copy the calendar in the old PST file to a new PST file, perfectly, without losing any events?
I do not intend to use this PST file itself because it has old emails and contacts, it will stay only as a backup; more than over, after installing Office and using my credentials, my contacts and email will be imported to the new PST file.
I'd like to ask also:
- if local Outlook 2016 will recreate folders and redirecting rules defined on outlook.com
- if i can create a professional office 365 Outlook Exchange account, resulting in a personal PST file and a professional email account based in Exchange.

HELP: Outlook '03 Imported Contacts, B'day not populating in Calendar

Hi guys
I have Outlook 2003 on XP with 2 xp users sharing the same pst file in order to share common email accounts, contacts and calendar. I have imported a MS Access mdb with contact info, birthday and anniversary dates into the shared pst file. The contacts appear ok but birthdays and anniversaries are not auto populating in the shared or personal calendar. Tried changing date on a contact, save and close still didnt update calendar on new date. Tried creating new contact to test and put today as birthday. Still did not populate in calendar. I'm a computer novice and ran out of ideas. Help?!?!?!

I created outlook client account (2010) on user's computer, and outlook calendar and contacts is not syncing with O365 account. People and Calendar in O365 are there, just not in Outlook 2010 on user's computer. Email is syncronizing. Anyone know what I can check? I compared the Outlook 2010 account settings with other users, so they should be correct. After setting up the Outlook account on the computer, the "Test Connection" does work. However, when you go into Control Panel, Mail, Account Settings, Repair, get message "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection." If anyone has any ideas what I can check or do to resolve this issue, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:O365 calendar and contacts not syncing, email does

I figured it out myself. When you MANUALLY configure an Outlook Client account to Office 365 with POP3, SMTP, and server settings, even though it connects to your Office 365 email, Contacts and Calendar will not sync, that's just the way it works.

Just bought a new Lumia 950 XL (RM- 10185) Windows Phone 10 Version 1709 Build 15254.158. All software and firmware is up to date. I think this has more to do with my MSA account than anything. Not sure. Ran into this with my Lumia 1520, but after a few days time it corrected itself. This all worked until the last feature update. I'm trying to avoid a reset, for it would be 3? builds to go through?

The old Lumia has been deleted in my MSA and Devices & Printers in all my W10 OSs. No matter what I do with any settings doesn't solve the problem. I see the MSA in my phone settings and it's signed in. No problems there. Region, time zone, language, location, etc. are all set correctly. I can even ring it within my MSA online and it also tracks my phone.

All my devices sign in with the same MSA. Office apps are signed in and work great.

Problem 1. MSA People contacts do not show in the People app, nor texting app and phone app log. However, my Skype contacts show in those apps. The only contacts that show up with a search are my Skype contacts. I can see some of their pics on the People app live tile. These show even though I do not have Skype contacts selected in filtered contacts. I do not have any contacts on my SIM card. This is what I get.

Problem 2. The Mail and Calendar apps (which I think is the Communication app in mobile also) open for 5 seconds, then close out. I see just two emails in the Mail app and no events/appointments in my Calendar app ev... Read more

Unlike the HTC Desire, my new Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 does not synchronise with Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook 2010. The PC does not appear to see the device - and vice versa. Any help with synchronising Outlook Contacts and Calendar with Google apps should be gratefully appreciated

Answer:Synchronise Outlook calendar/contacts with Android

I Have used Outlook for many, many years and came across the same problem of syncing and did succeed in doing this satisfactorily ( I shall have to go through my notes to see how it was done) However overtime I realised that I was using the Google Calendar a lot more than Outlook itself and now I very rarely access Outlook for its Contacts or Calendar. I have four PC's two tablets and two smartphones with all Contacts, Calendars synced across them. It is of course a matter of choice. I only posted here to illustrate how an avid Outlook user changed his spots.

Why will my Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar and contacts not update from my laptop to my Surface Pro 3. e-mails from Outlook are no problem. Am I naive or what?

Answer:How do I get my Outlook Calendar and Contacts from my Laptop to my Surface Pro 3?

What e-mail account are you using between the two? If it is a Microsoft Account (live/Hotmail/outlook) then you may have multiple calendars and contact lists. You need to make sure you are adding calendar events or contacts onto the Microsoft Account's calendar or list.
If you go to calendar and see your events: look on the bottom-left and see if the calendar you are viewing says "this computer only" on it. If it does then that will explain why nothing is synchronizing between devices.

Suddenly I can't open my calendar or contacts in Outlook 2007. Have been using this software for several months. Can open mail and notes folders but not the other two above. When I click the folder the hand sign comes on and the screen freezes. If I try to open another folder the screen goes white and hangs. I have to start Task manager to shut the session down. Only recent changes are MS updates from the web but can't see any problems there. No error messages appear and all other programs run OK. Other recent change was upgrading virus software to Norton 360. Ops system is Vista Home Premium. Have searched MS website for a fix and this site. Can anyone suggest a fix.

I suppose that users have each one his laptop with Microsoft outlook installed.
The steps are:
1) Download "ShareFoders" software from this site: http://www.unitedteam1.com
2) Install on each laptop the "ShareFolders" software.
3) Start Microsoft Outlook.
4) An assistant appear to set up the initials values.(Accept the default values)
4) The "Share Folders" button appear in outlook's bar tool
5) To share for example calendar folder:
- Click in "ShareFolders" button
- Select calendar folder
- Select with who to share
- Click in "Share selected folder" button
6) An invitation window appear in the guest's outlook, if the guest accept the invitation an email of acceptation will be sent to origin
7) from this moment all the appointments will be synchronized between the two outlook.

Hey everyone! new here.
I'm up for a new phone and a new computer, and I was thinking of getting the Lumia Icon (currently have ancient iPhone 4) and Surface Pro 3. I want a decent camera on the phone and I like the idea of sensitive stylus input on a computer, so I hope these are decent choices :)
I've read a few intros to the WP UI (including from here), but somethings weren't so clear. Sorry if everyone always asks the same questions!
I have 2 gmail addresses (1 personal and 1 work-related), and I was wondering how well the phone and surface worked with google services. How does it work to sync email, calendar events, and contacts between the phone and Google? Basically I want to know if (1) gmail folder/labels will show up in the app, (2) will "read"/archived, etc. messages on the phone be marked as such in the "browser" version of gmail, (3) will added contacts to the phone people or whatever app be added to the browser version of gmail, (4) same with calendar - do events added show up in google calendar?
I think these have to do a bit with CardDav and CalDav, but I'm not very sure about the technical side of things. And I also don't know if there are changes on this front between WP 8 and 8.1.
Thanks for reading! :)

Answer:Switching to Windows Phone - Calendar, Contacts, Mail

I faced a similar transition recently. Biggest problem was with Outlook.com Calendar and its "subscription" to a Google Calendar. It doesn't work. There's dozens of posts in MS forums about it.
You may also have issues with mis-matched fields in Contacts.
Here's what I ended up doing:
Export all Contacts to csv.
Meticulously tidy the csv.
Test import 10 or so Contacts to Outlook.com.
Do a live Contacts import.
Much the same for Calendar.
Export Calendar from Google.
Import it to Outlook.com.
Don't try and link the two.
I set Google to forward all mail to Outlook.com
Then over the course of a couple of weeks as mails came in, amend the address of whichever service was sending me the mail.
Ideally, you'd get all these nice online services to "sync" with each other with little effort. I've not seen it work like that. I had to go for as much of a clean break as possible. And it's been worth it - I've got a simple setup with no concerns about Calendar being out of date or Contact fields mismatching etc.
Oh, and the single biggest thing when doing anything like this - have a backup of a backup of an export of all the data you value/have trusted to an online service. Weird things can happen when you start creating/breaking synchronisations and have multiple devices doing so.

Hello,

I have a standard free Yahoo Mail account with several personal folders and also use the Yahoo calendar.

I would like to move from Yahoo to my gmail account for both my emails as well as my calendar. I recently came across this neat CRM type software called Gist, and that doesn't work with Yahoo Mail.

What's the best way of doing this? I'd like to:
1. Copy my personal folders structure in Yahoo Mail to gmail, so that I have exactly the same personal folders in gmail as I did in yahoo
2. Copy the contents of my personal folders in Yahoo Mail to the respective personal folders in gmail.
3. Copy the entries/events in my Yahoo Calendar to Google Calendar
4. Copy contacts from yahoo email to gmail.

Thanks.

Answer:Moving from Yahoo to Google >>>mail, calendar, contacts

Try this if you haven't already done so.

Sign in to gmail.

Access Settings by clicking the gear symbol on the upper right-hand corner of the page next to your name.

Choose Accounts and Import/Import mail and contacts.

What I did not see was a way to import your calender.

If you use Internet Explorer and the page is wonky disable Compatibility View.

I have been scratching my head and searching everywhere, but I seem to have only questions and no answers to this one. I have a business where I keep all my clients in an Access 2013 database. The tables and queries include all contact information, and I also enter dates when I have had appointments with each client along with details of our sessions. Each week (or whenever I get around to it) I must do several things:
update all contact info in Access and export the data to a folder in my Outlook Contacts
enter dates from my Outlook Calendar into the Services table (via a form) and fill in details
export updated Contacts from Access to Excel to upload into my Enewsletter program to email newsletters to clients
make sure my Outlook contact info is syncing correctly with my Samsung Galaxy (I use gsyncit, the best app I've found for this)
refer to my contacts on the phone to get addresses as I am on my way to each client's house or business

Quite a pain, right? If only I could set up a system where any new changes to contact info made EITHER from Outlook OR from Access automatically synchronize AND the address info is included in my Outlook Calendar entry for the person AND a service entry is entered in my Access database for that call, wouldn't my life be easier?! I've had an Android for almost 2 years, and although I really love it I'm considering getting an iPhone when my contract ends (I have an iPod touch and just really starting liking some of the apps and user experience)

The only issue for me is I'm a heavy Google user: gmail, google calendar, google contacts, etc.

I love how right now I can add a contact or calendar event on my phone, and it immediately syncs to my Google account (or vice-versa syncs to my phone).

I did a bit of research so far on how this would work on an iPhone, and it seems there are apps but that you still need iTunes? Is that true? Or is there an app that will mimic the functionality I get on my Android?

I do plan to jailbreak it, if that helps any.

Thanks

I downloaded and ran AVG PC Tuneup and it cleaned up (by deleting) about 11,000 windows files and other files, as well as 'cleaned' registry keys, etc. Their customer support has been pretty useless and my laptop running win 7 has so many issues that I plan on doing a restore to the original image delivered 2 years ago. Windows backup shows my last backup as Sept 2013 - though I thought it was supposed to back things up weekly.

That being said, in Outlook 2010 (which I have the CD for) I have 3 mail accounts with lots of emails and contacts, as well as Calendar events that I would like to export and then import into a clean version of Outlook. (Note that the contacts may also be part of groups, etc. that I would like to keep intact). I have seen online info about exporting and creating a pst file for emails, but it seems that contacts and the calendar might be separate. I just want three files that will pull back my original folders, the emails in the folders, my calendar, the contacts for those accounts (separated contacts for each email accnt and any groups that they might be in), etc. Is there one function that will do this? Is this just a simple export to a pst or ??? I don't want to lose any data so want to do it right the first time.

Any input as to how I would do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Answer:Need to Export Emails, Contacts, Calendar into a clean ver of Outlook

Before you change anything have you checked to see if you have a Recovery point that you can use.

Open Control Panel, select Recovery & see if there is a Restore point you can use that is before the current dilemma. It may save you a lot of work.

Is it possible to sync iPhone Contacts and Calendar with my Windows Phone? If so please give mr very simple directions. I have 2000 contacts with notes etc and don't have the time or heart to type all of this info into my HTC M8 phone.

Answer:Is it possible to sync iPhone Contacts and Calendar with my Windows Phone?

Your iPhone calendars and contacts are stored in an account. If you created these contacts in a third party email, like gmail, then you can just sign into that account with your Windows Phone, and you are done. If the contacts are saved in an iCloud account, then it will be a little harder, but it appears that there are ways to export contacts and calendars from iCloud to formats that you could import into a Microsoft account.

I have a Microsoft Account set up on the PC and on the phone and I have set up the Outlook Hotmail Connector function but the phone doesn't seem to pull the contacts and calendar through. The Microsoft Account Settings on the phone shows a 'Content to sync' checkbox for Email but not contacts or Calendar. Does this matter and how do I fix it?
Do I need to use a live.com or Outlook.com email address for the Microsoft Account? (I don't at the moment, I just use my normal email address).
Going round in circles and getting stuck!

Going round in circles and getting stuck! 1 You do not need to use a outlook.com or live.com email address for a Microsoft Account.
2 in the Microsoft account on your phone you only see the e-mail box because the calendar, contacts are automatically synced so you can not disable this. Only for your e-mail you can decide to sync or not to sync.
3 Now i am not sure what email you use for the outlook 2012 if this is the same as you use for the phone and pc the calendar and contacts should be synced. I you use a live.com or a outlook.com address for it then you could at this outlook.com/live.com account as separate "outlook account" on your phone (So not as a Microsoft Account because you only can use 1 Microsoft account on your phone)
4 If you use a live or outlook.com for outlook 2010 you also could use this as Microsoft Account.
5 I do not know what "the Outlook Hotmail Connector function" is but point 3 or 4 should cover this.
I hope this makes... Read more

I'm running Windows XP and Internet Explorer browser and Microsoft Outlook 2003.In some of my Contacts, the person's birthday is recorded. It therefore appears - usefully - in my Calendar. However, it seems that it takes effect as a kind of recurring event and thus as each birthday occurs, it crops up more than once.I can, of course, delete each additional event on an ad hoc basis - but there is presumably a tick box or similar that I can use instead.

Answer:In Outlook Calendar, how do I stop birthdays (from Contacts) appearing twice?

Here's a question:These birthdays that show up more than once in your calendar...are they possibly from duplicate contact information within Outlook?Let's say you have a contact with more than one email address...so...is there more than one contact card for this person?  If so, I'd recommend combing the cards into one contact to see if this solves the problem.I try to look for the simplest solution first.

Can Outlook be configured to easily sync contacts and calendar from Gmail using free software/plugins? Or is Thunderbird the way to go to obtain this sort of functionality? Which software do you recommend? Thanks!

Answer:Which Email Client for Syncing Gmail Contacts/Calendar?

Free? No. The restriction of google calendar/outlook syncing is that it only allows you to sync ONE calendar. If you have your google calendar split up into multiple calendars (ex. work, school, bills, etc) then you have to get a pay solution.

If that restriction doesn't affect/bother you, then Google has built-in functionality for this.

Hi folks.
On my windows 7 computer in "network and sharing center" my internet connection is by default set to public network. My computer isn't part of a network.I am the only user in my home and don't need to share any files with any other computer or "network"
In windows firewall it shows as being connected to "public networks" and not connected to "home or work(private)networks.
As I am the only computer connected to my internet connection I was wondering if it would be better to connected to home or work(private)or even better to not be connected to any "network" at all?
I was wondering if there was any security benefits too? Thanks.
