Question: I'm a noob at saving streaming video. How do I save this video? (I think it's protec

1.) How do I save this stream? (it has some sort of protection, I used URL Helper with HiDownload, and HiDownload could not start downloading it)

http://media2.yahoo.com/player/ligans/?key=47611

2.) The wmv that URL Helper gave me was:

http://wmcontent06.bcst.yahoo.com/br...79f&s=96893172

3.) I tried changing the & to \& like the article below says, but it still didn't work.

http://wmcontent06.bcst.yahoo.com/br...9f\&s=96893172

4.) This website suggests an mplayer based method.

http://www.boingboing.net/2005/08/29...ct_video_.html

However, I do not have Linux, nor know how to use it. And I don't think there is an mplayer plugin for Mozilla WINDOWS version.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A website with some streaming recording tools is

http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/

Will any of those bypass the protection?

I know I could probably use one of the "Screen capture software" but this would be VERY inconvenient because there are A LOT OF EPISODES.

May be wrong in this, but it is worth a try. I believe that anything that you view or download off the net is saved as a temp file, until you run a cleaner or shut down. Might try searching temp files! Hope this helps!

How do I save a SWF video file? I've tried Firefox extensions to save the SWF but it only saves a 109kb file when it's an 5 min. long video. I tried using various .swf players to try and open it , but no luck. Im assuming that 109kb file really isnt anything .

Is there something special I need to save them. This video I'm trying to save is not from youtube by the way. It's from a pay guitar site. I bought the membership , but I want the videos saved to my HD. I used a program called URL snooper to help me find the "real" url for the video as it streamed(because you can't right click to save) when I logged into the site. So I got this: http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf... took out a series of numbers that was here where this text is by the way)&hl=en&loop=true&playerMode=embedded.

Now I copy n pasted this to my browser and the whole video takes up most of the screen .. I feel like I'm really close to downloading this , but something is off....Thanks for any help !
It's Weird because Firefox won't play the flash video, but my msn plays it fine. I downloaded this plug in that lets you see the swf file and lets you download it.

This may seem like a really stupid question, and the answer may way be very obvious, but I can't do it!I am trying to save the online TV5 news in French to my hard drive so I can put it on CD and use it for teaching languages. However, the videos are only in Realone format, and I can't find a way of saving them to disk! If you Right click and click 'open in realplayer' and have the 'now playing' toolbar open, I can save the URL to a playlist, but this is no good as I still have to be connected to the internet to view the clip.I have the free version of RealOne player, if that makes a difference. The clips I have been trying to download are here:click hereThe site is all in french, so to get a video clip, click any of the links in dark blue text that say "Grand Format" or "Petit Format." The video will now open in a new window. If anyone can tell me a way to save these to my hard drive I would be very very grateful!!!Thanks in advance,Ellie

Hello tenforums members,
I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.

I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail? I would appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks.

Hi,
I was able to resolve the issue by disabling all hardware enhancements for Conexant Smartaudio HD. Here are the steps I took to resolve it, in case someone else runs into the same frustrating problem as I did: Right click on the speaker icon on the lower right hand corner -> Playback Devices -> Disable all hardware enhancements -> OK -> Reboot. That's it!

I recently installed Windows Service Pack 2, actually three times after reinstating my computer software to the original state by erasing and reinstalling the full software install CD on my computer's hard drive for Window XP Home. I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? I can attach my system computer file of my information if you like in an e-mail if it will help. AND YES I HAVE THE DIVX CODECS. I thought about that to and uninstalled and reinstalled them with the same random problems. PLEASE HELP ME. This is really annoying.

Answer:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

This has been happening on and off ever since I started with Win 10 and its always very annoying .

System just hangs, no error message, no bsod, just complete freeze and loud hum.

I cant say I can remember having issues watching youtube videos, its the streaming of live content such as filmon. Sometimes I can watch filmon for days and not have the issue and then randomly it will start again. Today I was watching hypermole playing on twitch tv (live) and it just happened. Getting tired of it.
I can also report having all my video content display as a green screen after using hyper v although that may be totally unrelated.

As far as I am aware, I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics, I always try update everything. I have attached the log files as requested.

Hi m1a1t,

Welcome to the 10forums

I'm not a specialist when it comes to freeze problems, but I do have a tip (or 2 when talking about reverting back the changes)
IObit software is known for causing problems, I would highly recommend that you remove it and revert back the changes it made when it comes to drivers.
DB3 may install corrupted or the wrong drivers what may cause problems,Malwarefighter is IMHO garbage,Advanced SystemCare may cause more harm than good
About the uninstall program I can't tell you anything, because I have no experience with it and I prefer to keep it that way.

Just looking for suggestions from you guys who have done this type of project on video appliances or video servers and the hardware to connect the 5 screens.

Hello. I am trying to watch live video on nbcolympics.com. When I load a video, the advertisement comes up and plays, then when the streaming loads, the video goes black, but I can hear the audio .

Any suggestions? I'm running an intel i7 on Win7 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 58XX graphics card. I have tried upgrading my drivers, to no avail...

Answer:Solved: Streaming Video - Audio, no Video

I found the solution on another website - disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking on the video and going to 'settings' resolves this issue. Then the browser needs to be restarted.

Apparently its a fairly common problem with the current Flash build.

sorry if this is a repost:

Hi, i have some questions about video cards. i REALLY dont know a lot about computers when it comes to taking them apart and adding/removing hardware. actually i dont know anything.

Im obviously a gamer and want to get a new video card to support the games i want to play.

I looked it up and found that i need a video card that is pci-e 16x and a few other things.

Right now im considering getting a radeon 1gb hd 5750. but im confused about a few things.

1)Will the Radeon 5750 be what i need?

2) whats with the ATI, sapphire, ASUS, Diamond radeon cards? Whats the real difference between all these different prefixes to the Radeon 5750 video card?

3) I see pci-e 16x "2.0". What is the difference between 2.0 and 1.0?

Im running a Emachines Et1831-03 with these following specs:

CPU1 : Intel® Pentium® Processor E5300 (2.6GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB)

Operating System2 : Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Chipset : NVIDIA® GeForce® 7050

Memory3 : 4GB DDR2 dual-channel (2 × 2048MB) 2 DDR2 slots total, 0 DDR2 slots available

Hard Drive4 : 750GB SATA

also i have a 300w power supply but i plan to upgrade it to a 600w power supply when i get the video card.Click to expand...

Again sorry if this has been discussed already, but i really dont trust my ability in judging computer parts and really want to be careful with my money.

thanks

This problem is happening on all of my machines. They have Windows XP SP1, Windows XP SP2, and Windows 2000 SP4.

I've tried installing and re-installing the respective OS's on each machine and they all have the same problem each time.

What happens is that streaming video plays, but it is washed out. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that it's displaying the video in 256 or 16 color mode. However, if it's a real MPEG or such, and I download it, it plays just fine. Full colors and everything.

I though that it might be a media player thing, but I recently tried watching a RealVideo stream and had the exact same problem with it.

Anyone heard of this problem before and know how to fix it?

My codecs are as follows:
QuicktimmAlternative 1.43
RealAlternative 1.33
FFDshow 20020617
the latest DivX official (just grabbed it from the site)
Xvid 160705

And that's it. Like I said, downloading and watching a video works fine. However, "streaming" it causes the problem

Incidentally, I tried watching an MPEG movie that was being hosted on the web. If I told my browser (opera) to try to view the video in place, the problem occured. However, if I downloaded the video and then watched it, it worked fine. What's interesting about this is that in this case, "watching in place" for Opera means that it downloads it and then hands it off to the video player. Strange that it's occuring that way, at least t... Read more

Hey all. Within the past 5 months my newly built computer has been working wonders. Within the last week, all sound coming out of the computer started to lag. I noticed that all video lagged, as well as sound. If an application (such as a window or folder) were to be opened, the lag became more distinct. Sort of like the sound you may or may not hear if you are burning a CD and 100% of your computers resources are being used and you have music in the backround locking up, tahts what I have, with video as well. but there is no other applications running.

I was mad at first to notice this, so I went online to look for updates on my computer and updated 1 or 2 things. Still the same problem was there, so I formatted the entire computer. The computer worked awesome, even better than it did before. Come two days later, the problem came back. There was no event or something to trigger this into happening again. I don't know what the problem could be. My system specs:

AMD Anthon 64 3000+
1024 DDR Corsair Ram
GeForce 6800GT 256MB
2x 80GB Western Digital Hard Drives
On-Board Sound
Generic PSU 450W Power Supply Newegg's Description

After the format, everything was first updated using the CDs provided with all of the parts for the computer (The CDs were the only things used when I first put the computer together and it worked perfectly, so I thought be installing the same ones, I could just have this problem fixed once and for all). After the install of those drivers a... Read more

Question: Streaming video...

I think that streaming video is the problem, but I know nothing bout it ;). When I goto websites like mtv.com and [email protected] I try to watch music videos and things of that sort, the audio plays decent but the video... It's all jumpy and pauses alot even though the audio continues to play. All my friends say they can see it just fine, and I keep much better care of mine. I've got a dsl connection so speed isn't a problem. All the leaves is... Dunno.

Useful information
-I use Windows media player 10.
-I own other media players, but don't know how to get websites to use them instead.

-Derek

Answer:Streaming video...

What speed is your DSL connection? Even with our T1 (1.5Mb up/down) we still get lag. I have a 5.0Mb connection at home and I can stream video with ease.

You may also want to up the buffering if you have a slower DSL line.

Question: Video Streaming

Hi,

I wonder if anybody have this same problem but sometimes when I am streaming web tv all I see is a jumble of colors. I get some tv stations fine (so that rules out there being something wrong with my PC doesn't it?)but there are always some stations where I can't get anywhere with. All there is is the sound is there fine but I am seeing only shapes of people and things. And colors!!! Its like I am seeing them giving off heat signatures in some kind of thermal imaging device.

It happens when I am using media player as well as when I am streaming directly from the station web pages.

I am wondering if it have anything to with flash player technology/quicktime? I haven't installed quicktime though I doubt its absence affects performance of general tv/video streaming, or could it?

And what is codecs anyway?

Could anyone suggest a simple and free programme to record streaming video please?

Answer:streaming video

Depending on where you are streaming it from I use JetAudio free from click hereScroll down and select Jetaudio 6 Basic download. If it is a realplayer stream you will need to configure jetaudio to read the file.Install Jetaudio and open it. Go to Preferences, File, File type association, in the right hand window select Check all, then Update, then OK and OK again.Should now be set for almost everything you throw at it.

Question: Streaming Video

I like to view music videos on a site called Launch.com. I have a high-speed cable connection (advertised at 500 kbs). Lately, when I try to view videos at the highest speed available (the site lets you stream at various speeds), there are pauses in the video, no video at all and sometimes breaks and pauses in the audio as well. Here are my questions:

Are there problems with Launch.com? Is their server gagging trying to keep up with the traffic? (remember--this used to work just fine until a month or two ago).

I have Norton AntiVirus and update it daily. There are no issues here. I'm not behind a firewall, no issue here either. Is there something I can change in IE5.5 to change the buffering (or is it cache) for streaming? If so, how?

My carrier is Charter Pipeline. Does anybody out there have problems with streaming multi-media using Charter?

Can somebody else go to Launch.com, watch a video at 300 kbs and tell me if they have the same problem?

Ran a video Janet Jackson at 300kb windows media through Road Runner cable with no problems. You may try removing all but systray and explorer through the crtl, alt, del, end task and see if that helps. If it does not you may have to take a look at what is running in background using msconfig and see if there is anything you can cut back on to free up resources.

Question: Streaming video

Hey every one,

I'm on a 56k modem and not by choice. Well, I want to watch this video thats on the internet but my only choice is to stream it. Which it is very diffiuclt to stream video with a 56k modem phone line.

So when you get to the web site it provides a link to the video, then when you click on it, it pop ups another window and plays the video. Theres no way for me to actually right click "save target as" or right click "save link as" ect.

Got any ideas on how to save this video on my hard drive?

bigk

Answer:Streaming video

Streaming media is often already on your hard drive after you've watched it as it is downloaded to your 'temp internet files' folder.
Before you have a look I would empty this folder first as it gets full fast so would make finding/identifying the file a little harder. View the folder contents by details and sort by file size, it should be near the top somewhere if it's there.

Hi All

For the life of me i cant get streaming to work from windows 7 to Xbox 360.

In the old days using XP i would stream direct to Xbox 360 using WMP, easy as with no porblems.

Now i cant seem to get any sharing working through wmp12, i have shared everyone and everything, spent numreous hours trying to get it to work with no luck.

i use PS# media server which works but the video is choppy and stops.
Media Centre is even worse, i cant even watch 5 seconds before is stops and buffs.

I know enough about computers to know i am going crazy trying to figure this out.. if anyone is willing to help pl email and i will greatly appriciate it.

I would even remote access etc if that would help.

When trying to view a music video using WMP, nothing happens except that the player will keep saying that it is buffering. Before i have had problems with it not playing the video at all. The message will say 'ready' but nothing will happen

I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and WMP version 10.

Also is there a better open source or free alternative to this program that will allow me to view streaming videos?

And another problem that im having with Internet Explore is that every time i run it a prompt shows up and says that i need to install language packs for Japanse. Im very hesistant to install them as they might be a trick to install a virus or trojan. What could be causing this problem and what should i do to stop it from happing?

thx

Answer:cant see streaming video in WMP

I also have issues sometimes to. Since it's microsoft your best to use their products for microsoft specific situations. Just use IE for now and see if it works.

Feel free to install the language packs, they are found on your windows cd anyways. Free of windows-ware, spyware, adware, etc.

Hello,

I've been asked to get the following working but so far am stumped. Apparently it was working at one time (before I started here) and they want it to work again.

One of our clients, whose website we host and have done development on, has a live webcam that they want to provide access to from their site. They are running Windows NetMeeting on that computer and all works well when you connect using Windows NetMeeting.

But what they want is to have a link which would launch Windows Media Player and display the video stream through that.

Thank you for your help.

Question: streaming video

How do I improve quality of videos that I watch on the computer, or say, logging on cbs' site to watch clips of tv programs? They always seem to be somewhat distorted. Would the latest version of direct x help?

Answer:streaming video

Hiya

yep, it would. Also, and this is just a maybe as some sites are getting more involved, you might want DivX:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/default.asp

http://www.divx.com/divx/

Also, you will want to improve your browser speed:

Go to Tools | Internet Options. General tab. Under Delete Files, delete offline content. Also, clear the History.

Content tab, under AutoComplete, clear Forms and Passwords.

Advanced tab, under Browsing, look for Enable Insta on Demand. Untick.
Under Security, look for Empty Tempory Internet... Tick.
Apply and OK

Go to Find Files and type in cookie. When found, open the folder, and delete all the cookies found. You won't be able to delete the .dat file found.

For this, go here and get the Spider:

http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?threadid=55214&highlight=Spider

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

Also, go here and download AddAware

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Download and run, ensuring that Deep Registry scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Also, whilst you're there, download and install RefUpdate to get the latest updates. Just click Connect.

Question: Streaming video

My tv tuner is in the main desktop rig connected to my cable tv.

I'm wondering if there was a way for me to stream it over wifi and display it on my netbook when i'm moving around the house (ex. while doing something in the kitchen).

Would also be great if i can also do it with DVD or blueray. Anime video's can take as much as 25% of my E7200 CPU so maybe i can have the desktop do the work, then stream it over to the netbook. I can't exactly do file conversions coz the subtitles, languages and codecs rarely survive a re-encoding.

EDIT: For comparison, TV quality DivX video's only use 1-2% cpu. MP4 video's take up 0%. Those, the netbook can still handle.

Hi, and thanks in advance for looking into this post.

For some months my network has been unstable and very edgy, sometimes flippin all over the place and then tried restarting router/modem and let be off up to a day or two. My pc has ethernet cabel connections so no wireless on my stationary pc, but the exact problem is not this. Called my net-provider and asked in their support for solutions, they said after a while that it was cause of hard uploading on my line and that it maxed out all the time, making it unstable and fragile (I pay for 16 Mbit/s down and 0,75 Mbit/s up. Usually get around 12,5 Mbit/s down and 0,67 Mbit/s up). So further on I got myself net limiter to limit my pc to 0,7 Mbit/s up so it never can go higher. But still I experience unstable line though.

So with this background of the internet speed and such, the question here is why I stream so poorly on my local connection? I active use netflix and very often the video has to pause and load, and then continue. Whenever I use my Ipad for example, it nearly never has to load, I just start the video and begin watching. And this streams through wireless. So my mind can't comprehend why the Ipad streams better and faster then my pc with local connection. I use the Mozilla Firefox browser most often on my PC to stream, but get same result in Opera (slow loading time). Any answers why I get this problem?

You tube works fine, videos play fine from this site.

Answer:Streaming video help

Hi arahod

I'd expect one of your Internet Options settings is in conflict with what the sites you wish to play videos from require. You can take a look at the settings a typical site needs to play videos & try those settings (we'll use the New York Times as an example --- http://www.nytimes.com/ref/membercen...imediaqa9.html ). Another strategy is to add the sites from which you often view videos to your trusted sites (in the Security tab of Internet Options).

If you feel your favorite media player is at fault, check in EventViewer to see if any errors are showing in the logs that happen at the same time your video fails to play [Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Administrative Tools/EventViewer].

...and, of course, since this is a brand-new machine, you can contact eMachines to see if there are any problems specific to your model.

Best of luck
. . . Gary

Hi! Some time after I'd installed Windows Media Player 11, audio stopped working when watching a streaming video (like CNN Pipeline etc.). Some servers offer a RealPlayer stream as well and there's no problem watching that, but when the stream is in Windows Media Format, the WMP plugin in Firefox is used and I can watch it, but I can't hear anything. I downloaded&installed Windows Media Codecs from Microsoft.com and it didn't help. I uninstalled WMP11, but the previous version (WMP10) does the same.

When I copy the address of the video stream and open it in VLC Player (or WinAmp), it works fine, so there must be some problem with WMP.

Does anyone of you know what to do? Or is there any chance of changing WMP Plug-in in Firefox for a different one - i'd like to be able to watch streaming videos embedded in wep pages as before.

Apparently I know even less about this than I thought I did. If I can watch a TV show on my computer screen, how can I record it - either as data to burn to a disc or on an adjacent VHS machine. I can get the audio out the speaker jacks, but how about the video. Can I get it (or both video and audio) through a USB jack? What minimal software might I need.? I don't plan to do this on a large scale, but I missed something with my TiVo andI'd like to watch something that will available for only a few more days. Answer:streaming video

Chances are pretty good that the kind of stuff you're looking to record is protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) meaning it's not recordable. There are programs that claim to record DRM protected videos but none of them work. I am assuming you're talking about something like Hulu as opposed to Youtube.

Question: streaming video

hello,
How can i download streaming video from a website on to my computer? Instead of the video passing through a buffer, i want to store it on my hard drive... how can i do this?!?!?!?!

Answer:streaming video

In alot of instances you can't because they purposefully setup the webpage code and delivery method of the video so you can't download the file. About all you can do is right click on the video link and then select "Save Target As". Depending on how the page and delivery method is setup, you may or may not actually get a video file. You have to try it and see.

Question: video streaming

Not sure if this is the place to post - I've uploaded a video (.mov, 5 minutes) to my website. Some users are telling me it takes about 2 minutes to download (and doesn't start playing till it's downloaded); others are having no such problem. Some of these users share the same office, so it doesn't seem to be a connection issue. Is there anything I can do to "make" its download quicker for those experiencing this problem, or is this strictly something that's related to the individual computers?

Thanks.

Craig

Question: video streaming

hi,tired of video buffering?are there any software to speed up video loading?tq

Answer:video streaming

There is no software that I'm aware of to speed up video buffering and if someone claims that their software will speed it up they are lying. Video streaming is dependent on your system, video board, and internet connection. If you're here to post SPAM, I would not suggest it. If you're here looking for an honest answer, then I apologize for the previous warning.
