Preferred Solution: Windows cannot load the device driver.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Windows cannot load the device driver.

Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupt; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.
Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.

On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.

I have this problem:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory.

and now I am not able to connect any usb device to my laptop making it virtually impossible to use windows 10.
How do I downgrade to windows 7,have enough of the beta testing.
I even have a purchased version of windows 10 pro which I really regret buying, worst investment ever.

Ok I have done quite alot of searching on here and I have found out quite a few things I have exhausted every friggin resource imagineable. The only thing I have yet to try is the registry edit. Now I pretty much have that down I just have one simple question. When deleting the upper and lower filters...

While in the registry I have found the upper filters on the right hand side. The only problem there is - No lower filters.

Could this be a problem?

Also , do the upper/lower filters need to be removed from the Control set 001 and Control set 002 . Please get back to me ASAP.

Thanks.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) <-- This god for shaken message is stopping me from enjoying my computer.

The driver is MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-861H ATA Device

And that up there is the error message, i havnt downloaded anything i just pressed the button on the cd/dvd drive and my computer shut down and when i turned it back on nothing it it worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Im practilly computer illiterate so please be easy on the big words and stuff =]

Answer:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted

Please try the steps below:

1. Uninstall all third-party burning software, such as Nero and Roxio.

2. Perform a Clean Boot to test the result.

Clean Boot

========
a. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility.

Note: Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up.

b. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
c. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
d. Restart the computer and test the issue.

Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK".

Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment. If the issue disappears, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

If the issue persists, please contact your computer manufacturer to check if the DVD drive is damaged.

If not, you may need to restore the system to its factory settings.

Hope it helps.

I too am having this problem, but it is with Windows XP CD ROM LTN526s. I uninstalled the original CD ROM unit and put this one (ltn526s) in and got the same message.

Answer:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. (code 39) -- On XP!

Hi

Moved your post to its own thread as the other thread was dealing with Windows Vista and that OS can have different routes to fixing a problem that may not work on yours or cause more issues,

But what you can try is in Device Manager right click the CDROM and choose Uninstall, then reboot and see if the drivers are picked up. If that doesnt work then follow this How to fix missing DVD/CD drives not showing up in windows explorer (easy options and pre-done registry files are at bottom on page, download, unzip and double click to merge with registry) then reboot.

Bought a new Logitech webcam C270 Have installed, uninstalled several times then went online with logitech support and we uninstalled again and then downloaded from their website. In device manager under the tab imaging devices it gives us the error message that Windows can not load my device driver for my Photosmart C6200 or for my Logitech C270 webcam.

We did an uninstall and reinstall and it still says that. The support tech said that is all he could do that I would have to go to Gateway and download my OS driver. Talked to them but they can't help me because it would cost a fortune because my computer is older and not covered under their plan.

HELP

Answer:Windows can not load my device driver for my C270 Logitech webcam

Since both devices show as not being able to load the driver, have you tried uninstalling the Photosmart C6200 software as well?
Could be there is a conflict between the 2 drivers.

If that does not help, it could be a problem with the USB port setup, so updating the motherboard drivers is indeed a next step.

So, My son got the BSOD where he couldn't select the language, so I reformatted and reinstalled a clean version of win 10.

Now, under device manager I get 2 heading of HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO CONTROLLER with both having a yellow exclamation point. When I click on, the details say

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39){Bad File}The attributes of the specified mapping file for a section of memory cannot be read.

I have uninstalled both of them and re-started the computer, tried the audio controller troubleshooter, copied the 3 drivers from a working computer and still cannot get rid of the yellow exclamation points.

Just about to throw the computer out the back door and tell him to read a book.

Any ideas?

Answer:windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware code 39 audio

Hey,

And welcome to Tenforums,

Since the version you reinstalled is a fresh install there is only one thing that could cause a driver to fail which is indeed the required installer, if you could list the name and the current version of the driver installed I could take a look and find you the newest driver which should be working, also it might be a good idea to perform a windows update check just incase windows did not update your driver yet, it might fix it by itself. Also performing an uninstall of a driver is often the way to go but it might be another option to completely disable the sound controller and remove any remaining installation files which usually removes after a restart.

I am seeing several of these Warnings in the Event Viewer, Windows System logs. These are Event ID 219, Source Kernel-PnP.

That said, I am not experiencing any crashes, freezes, BSODs, and everything on my PC seems to be functional. So perhaps I can safely ignore these warnings, but I prefer to get to the bottom of something in case it will lead to problems in the future.

I have done some online research on this event, and none of the suggested fixes seem applicable to me. I have been vigilant in keeping all drivers on my machine up to date. I've checked, and there don't seem to be any newer drivers available for any of my hardware. I also have the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service set to "automatic" startup.

The details of this event are below.

Any suggested action to remedy my problem? Thanks!

Hi,

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)

It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.

The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.

Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.

Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur.

From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause

WUDFRd failed to load for the device

Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date.

Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Any thoughts?

Answer:The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device... error

I just started getting this exact same error message logged in Event Viewer when I plug a USB stick into a USB port. It happens with two different sticks from two different manufactures, but it does not happen every time I plug them in. It seems that it may mostly happen the first time I plug a stick in after I have booted up my PC.

Have you been able to find a solution to get these error codes to stop logging?

This has been a problem for over a year now. 140+ identical PCs running identical images, with identical keyboards. Some have the problem, some do not, and it's incredibly unpredictable.

PCs are HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF running Windows 7 x64 Professional.

At Windows 10 startup this Warning appears in my Event Log as Event ID: 219.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{a1c931b2-3b00-11e5-9c14-806e6f6e6963}#0000000008100000.

I know why this happens. The device in the message is an internal SATA AHCI hard drive. All AHCI drives, even internal ones, are considered removal or hot swapable. It even causes the safely remove icon to appear sort of like it was a USB drive. It happened on Windows 8.x. Don't remember if it happened on Windows 7. I can't make any changes in my BIOS to make it not hot swapable as there is no option for this drive.

The fix to get rid of the message in W8 was to modify the Service 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' Changing the Startup type from Manual to Automatic fixed the problem. However, on Windows 10 this method does not work.

I can't disable the Service as it's needed for other devices. Just wondering if anyone found a nice clean way to get rid of the warning message like in W8?

I have the same issue. I have upgraded from Win 7 home, had some issues so I did a clean install of Win 10 home, and I also tried changing the Windows Driver Foundation - User Mode Driver Framework from manual to auto and same as you it did not work. And, Yes, I have downloaded and installed all of the latest driver/firmware from my manufacturer for all my hardware but still have this issue.

Been searching for days to find a solution for this problem (including fresh installs of Windows 10 etc), and today accidentally found it ... for my Asus Maximus V111 Formula at least, but it may also work on other motherboards

In BIOS, ensure that the XHCI Hand-Off is set to ENABLED (default is disabled)

I changed this, and now I can boot the system with USB devices inserted, and not get any Kernal-PnP warnings

Also i tried, but didnt work:
Change the 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-Mode Driver Framework' from 'Manual' to 'Automatic'.

I found something like this.

Should i try it or would it be easier to just format the computer. Its a work pc and it wont take long time, there isnt that much stuff on it.

Update Chipset and USB controller Driver.
It would be helpful if you can send us a screenshot of Device Manage while Card reader is connected.

Full event error: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device {C5A047D8-CB5B-40E9-B9E3-316AB06B5A18}\WirelessKeyboardFilter`

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:

I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):

Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Thanks,

Apparently, I am one of many who seem to be having this issue. And just like everybody else, I turned to Google for some answers. Here is my scenario (perhaps gregrocker could point me in the right direction?):

I am running on a laptop with the following specs:

Dell Studio 1735
32-bit Vista Home Premium, SP1
Intel 2 Core Duo, T8100 @ 2.10 GHz
250 GB SATA HDD, 5400 RPM
4 GBs of RAM
256 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
8x Slot Load CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)

I downloaded the .iso image of Windows 7 through the software program at Penn State and burned it to a DVD. When I restart my computer and boot off of the DVD drive, I get the Windows 7 Installation interface. As the setup begins, I get an error message that says "Load Driver" across the top of the window, and says "A required CD/DVD Drive Device Driver is missing". I tried a few things to circumvent this issue:

1. I swapped out the installation CD with one of the CD's that came with my laptop that contains all of my device drivers. It found one compatible driver for the ATA/ATAPI Controller, and despite selecting it and hitting next, it didn't work.

2. I took the service tag from my laptop, downloaded each and every driver that it's associated with, burned it to an .iso, and swapped THAT out when I tried to install. Again, nothing happened.

3. I mounted the .iso onto an 8GB Cruzer and made a bootable flash drive. Upon trying the install again, I had the same problem.

4. I tried to bu... Read more

Answer:Load Driver: Required CD/DVD Drive Device Driver: HELP!

Try extracting the ISO to Vista desktop to run Setup from there.

You can locate the driver in Vista's Device Manager SATA controller Driver info tab.

The fact that it would duplicate the error for USB flash install sounds like a malfunction.

Try removing 2 gb of RAM.

Check BIOS version to see if you have the latest.

Checksum the HASH of the ISO you downloaded to confirm it here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/0...vd-iso-images/

I can't seem to get Windows 7 SP1 to load a driver for an HP printer that is on my home network. My laptop sees it but won't let me make it the default printer or load a driver so that I can link to it wirelessly. I restored my laptop back to windows 7
because Windows 10 was moving too slow. I only have 4gigs of memory, and windows 10 probably runs better with 8gigs of memory.

I recently had malware installed on my computer called Antispycheck and I just got it removed but now my disk drives are missing from "My Computer." When I go to "Device Manager" all three drives show up, but they have the exclamation sign next to them, when I right click on it and go to properties, it says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing. (Code 39)." I uninstalled the drivers and restarted Windows, Windows found them and installed them, however, they still did not show up in "My Computer" and still had the same error message under "Device Manager." Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Hope this is the correct forum in which to post this. Please advise if incorrect.

I recently did an XP repair function on my pc to fix a small problem i was having. All went well and the problem disappeared but during the repair process when files were being restored from the original xp disk. it didn't want to re-install the driver for the display device. I have the original drivers and utilities disk so thought i would just re-install after the repair.

It won't install. It creates a progress log and points to that when it fails. Have pasted it below in case it is useful, but it means nothing to me.

Any clues?

Hello
I recently bought a MP3 player to run with an Athlon 2000 Win98SE PC. The software on the disk that came with the player is for XP but like the man said 98 drivers can be downloaded from Samsung site. Did this, the downloaded file was supposed to be self extracting but not so, however opened with Winzip to desktop.First tried clicking on file mtpsmgr.exe., some sort of loading menue flashed across the screen so quick could not read what it said.
On reboot device software would not load so went to Device manager, device shows as being there but no drivers loaded.when clicking "update driver" and pointing loader to each of the 11 downloaded files in turn get message "windows cannoy locate driver". I seem to remember the same problem about a year ago with a card reader via a downloaded file which I gave up on.
I am running USB printer, keyboard and camera but these came with 98 drivers on the a disk so there could be an issue with downloading drivers that I am not aware of. Sorry if this message goes on a bit but I am unsure what is relevant.
Can any one help
Regards Ionica

Note, As a newbie I was told to use not more than two lines for signature, not sure what this means so apologies if I have done it again

this is bizarre... HP DC7100, and I'm reinstalling Windows XP for the third time [different hard drives]. never seen this in the other successful installs.
When I go to load the realtek AC97 driver, I get a bluescreen crash & mem dump.... Do I need to go into the registry and remove all the audio devices registered?

and why does it say "Driver Not Found. Please Reboot and run this again"?
just bizarre... never seen that kind of message

Answer:Why bluescreen on audio device driver load?

just to update the saga. looking around the web, lots of people have this issue with various fixes and degrees of success/failure. part of the issue is source for driver: is it 'ADI' or is it 'Realtek' ? both claim "AC'97' parts and drivers. If I attempt to use any of the intel/realtek driver install packages, I get a BSOD at the end of the install. Gotta go to safe mode and uinstall devices [but what about drivers?] to get system back up. If I use the ADI supplied package [again, an executable... very dicey] I get the baffling message "NO Device Driver Found. Reboot and run this again" which of course produces nothing but a recursive fail.

this worked before.... its working on another system in my very home in fact. why not here? . my assumption is that there is another device driver unneeded in the system that is the real culprit.

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below. Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings. I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up. Here are my disks:

Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)

For the past couple of days i have been having a problem where my computer just shuts down on its own and then turns back on again. It mostly happens when im launching or playing a game but a couple of times i was just on the desktop and it restarted. I have checked the event logs and it keeps saying this:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\SensorsAndLocationEnum\LPSensorSWDevice.

I have searched all over the internet for the past couple of days and have found multiple answers (all of which didn't work). Some say its the psu and others say its the gpu. I personally think it was the windows update that i did three days ago because that was the day it started but i have yet to see anything online about a windows update causing this. I have already updated the graphics drivers and chipset drivers but it didn't change anything. Can someone just tell me whats going on because is just built this pc about 6 months ago and nothing like this has ever happened.

Hi,
I have recently bought Samsung galaxy S5 device. When I tried to connect it to my computer I nothing happend (what should have happen is that it will pop up the "What do you want to do? Go to folder/..." menu).
So I tried another usb socket. still the same problem. I have Ubunto install as a sperate OS on my computer, and there everything is working fine - so the problem is not in the cable/USB on my computer.

I went to Device manager and under "Portable devices" I see the "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" icon with a yellow mark. I open it and I see "this device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (code 31)". I also have "SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem" under modem in device manager (but it says that this device is working properly).
I tried to remove the "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device" and double click it and choose "update driver"->"search online". It found the driver but was unable to install it (got a "access deined" screen).

**This is not a problem of registry "UpperFilter"/"LowerFilter" problem. I saw it online while I was google a soultion and this is not my case***

I also tried to install the driver by installing "samsung KIES". It didn't help.

I am working on a Dell Inspiron B130 for a family member. It has been running very slowly and has not had any sound for months. Every time Windows loads it finds new hardware called PCI Device. It cannot locate a driver and fails to load every time. In Device Manager there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to PCI Device. I have removed about 17 GB of files from the computer, all pictures, videos, and programs that have not been used in a long time and run Defrag. I also upgraded the RAM from 500 MB to 2 GB. I went to the Dell web site and downloaded all the drivers that were listed for this laptop by it's Service Tag. When I tried to run the Dell files they said that the hardware for this driver is not on the computer. I did a Google search for this problem and found that I needed to load the Dell System Notebook Software first but this is not listed under the Service Tag for this laptop, but I did find it under all downloads for Inspiron B130. When I tried to run the file, it told me I did not have the correct version of Windows Installer so I installed Windows Installer 4.5. Now when I try to load the Dell System Notebook Software it tells me "the installation package does not support this Processor type." I am frustrated and do not know if I should try a System Restore at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Satellite 1110 and something has gone wrong with my DVD/CDRW and it will not read any CDs. It is reported as a MAT****A UJDA730 DVD/CDRW but the device status comes up as:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device but the error just returns. I cannot find a driver for it either on the manufacturer's web site or Toshiba's. I don't want to use the Product Recovery CD-ROM as it implies I will lose all software and data on the hard drive.

Can someone advise how to recover from this situation?

Thanks

Answer:Cannot load device driver for DVD/CDRW - Satellite 1110

Hi

Firstly you don?t any driver for the CD/DVD drive. The drive uses the standard Windows OS driver and it?s not necessary to install it additional.
I assume there could be something wrong with the registry entry.

Please check this forum posting:

The user has used the instruction which was offered on the Microsoft site.
This should help.

My OS is Windows Vista Business. the synaptics driver sometime does not load and i still have to manually run the driver to get the touch pad to work. Is this a unique problem, or are other also experiencing it?

Answer:V200 Synaptics Pointing device driver does not load

I have had similar problems myself. I tried upgarding the drivers from the synaptics site, but was not successful in resolving this problem. On the synaptics site it says, "Generic drivers will make you lose your settings, therefore you must use the driver that comes with your laptop" or something to that effect. So I went back to the original driver that came with my laptop (and I checked for updates to this driver from the Lenovo site....nothing yet) and this error still happens. For me it happens after the first time my laptop goes into 'sleep' mode. So after a reboot for example, the device settings start to work, but then as soon as I go into the sleep mode and come out, I lose the settings. I figure this is an error with the Lenovo laptop as I have friends with different brands who are running Vista, but this problem does not occurr on their laptops. If somebody else has found a solution, please let us know and thanks.

When it connects it loads the Modem, and other device drivers but fails to load one of the peripheral device drivers. Windows Update fails to find missing driver. Not able to do any file transfers from the phone although did send an image file (jpeg) to the phone. Could not find it after it was sent. Seems to be a PC and not a phone problem. What gives?

Answer:Unable to load bluetooth device driver to do file xfr

I'm having the same problem on my W500 running Win 7 Pro/64-bit.. I have also updated the drivers per the Lenovo support site. My PC recognizes my Apple iphone 5 have successfully paired them, but we have the dreaded yellow exclamation flag reflecting the fact that there are no drivers for file transfer (shows also in Device Manager). Able to play music from iphone to PC, but not able to transfer files. This also happens when I attempt to pair with another bluetooth equipped PC, so obviously the problem is not with the phone. Trouble shooter shows "The driver for VOB instantDrive Controller is not installed" Any suggesstions? Is this simply an unsupported feature?

The driver for the CD/DVD multi-drive on my Satellite P100-240 will not load at windows start-up. I get an error message (code 39) in device manager and it advises me to uninstall and re-install the driver, but this does not work. I would like to be able to resolve this issue without using the recovery disc to do a complete re-installation of Windows.

The drive is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N.

I have a Dell Inspiron 11 3168, Tag GS5B0C2, that will not allow the re-installation of Win10 or a Win7 OS. I have tried all combinations of the BIOS Legacy/UEFI - Secure boot (OFF) settings, along with the USB boot memsticks having multiple different versions of Win10 and Win7.I have even loaded Linux/GPart on to a USB memstick, booted into Linux Gparted and wipe the hard drive clean. This laptop was given to me because someone, prior to me, had done "something" and it would not boot whatsoever or respond to any keystrokes other than Bios setup(F2) and boot order (F12), and I would get an on screen display of either generic DOS "No boot device" message or a Dell message saying "No boot device"!As it stands with the hard drive wiped, and a bootable USB memstick loaded with either Win10 OR Win7, the installation process proceeds normally right up to the point where you choose the hard drive to install OS, and then an error message is displayed that says "A required drive device driver is missing" that does not appear to be on either version (Win10 or Win7) of the bootable USB memstick.
I opened this machine up and there is NO HDD or SSD in this unit, just a permanently mounted 32gb MMC chip from Sandisk.

The problem lies with WHATEVER OS I try to install with! (UEFI or LEGACY) It needs to access the "MMC 32gb" chip as a hard drive. I shot an email off to Sandisk (mfr of the MMC32gb Chip) and they say it was specially made for D... Read more

I was able to resolve these types of errors with the assistance of the Event Log Online Help in the past. Does anyone know the procedure to troubleshoot this error so it can be resolved?

I have a P200-1EE - HD dvd driver suddenly not working. After checking got the error code 39.
I tried suggestion by microsoft and still not working.

How to fix the corrupted driver?

Answer:Satellite P200-1EE: Window cannot load the device driver - error code 39

I presume you are speaking about this Microsoft procedure;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

However? the user in this thread had the same problem and he solved it using the procedure described in the MS document above.

Here the thread;
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=113712&#113712

So I would recommend removing the drive from the device manager and then to remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Then reboot the notebook and check if it helps?

Good luck

USB Imaging Device..whats all this mean??? does it have anything to do with why i can install my new modem?

Answer:USB Imaging Device, windows was unable to locate driver for this device..whats this m

At some stage recently you have placed a new scanner/digital camera, or the likes of, in your computer. Windows hasn't been able to apply a driver to that device and so it asks you if you want to connect to the internet to try and find a matching driver on the microsoft web site. The problem is easily solved. If you still have the device connected and plan on using it, then grab the CD that came with it and follow the installation instructions on it. If you don't have it connected then go back to the 'my computer' 'properties' into 'device manager'. In there disable the imaging device that has the yellow ! next to it. And hopefully next time you restart, no more problem.

I'm working with a Dell Dimension C521 PC. It came with a PCI-Express video card which apparently has failed, yet the motherboard itself has on-board video. The system will boot using this video output (as opposed to the card which produced nothing) but when it finally gets to windows the auto-detect driver routine kicks in and begins to detect the video card, prompting the user to "Continue Anyway" to finish installing unsigned drivers. Unfortunately this event takes place in front of the installation of the USB keyboard and mouse (times like these I wish it had PS/2 ). Anyway, whether I boot up into Safe Mode or normal a prompt comes up about installing drivers for the on-board chipset. I can't interact with it because the driver install routine for the keyboard/mouse becomes interrupted.

Answer:Dell Dimension C521; USB key/mouse driver load interrupted by video card driver load

Bump. I've been thinking... the only way I think this can be fixed is if I boot from a Linux CD or something similar and delete a particular set of drivers for this video card. It can't prompt you to install any drivers if they don't exist, right? But I don't know where to go to delete such files and prevent them from automatically trying to install themselves. Any ideas?

Hi! The Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2017/2:nd edition has an OLED panel option. Lenovo's download page for this model, https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/hk/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-... , offers a driver "Intel "OLED Panel Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad X1 Yoga (Type: 20JD, 20JE, 20JF, 20JG)", 1.0.0.5, 2017/10/02, in the Display and Video Graphics section. In Windows, the device appears as "Intel(R) OLED Panel Driver" under "System devices" in the Windows Device Manager. Normally I'd think all needed to drive a display is the graphics driver (e.g. "Intel(R) HD Graphics 620" under "Display adapters") and a monitor file for resolution, frequency and color calibration ("OLED Display 2560x1440" under "Monitors"). So, why do we need an "Intel(R) OLED Panel Driver", and what does this device actually do?

Hello,
I've been experiencing multiple bluescreens daily and what's odd about them is they occur randomly while using many programs; however, I have noticed that they occur more frequently directly after opening a new tab, loading a new site or running a game (StarCraft II).
Looking through Event Viewer. I see a list of warnings and errors immediately prior to the BSOD. In chronological order:

9:07:18 PM CRITICAL- "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

9:07:28 PM WARNING- "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_0483&PID_2016\5&249af6f9&0&2."

9:07:42 PM ERROR- "The previous system shutdown at 9:05:49 PM on ‎7/‎13/‎2011 was unexpected."

9:07:44 PM ERROR- "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0000099e0000007e, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff80002a92885). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 071311-32869-01."

9:07:47 PM ERROR- "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0"

I also get this warning quite often:

Windows could not load the installer for <device>. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance. For every USB device I connect I'm met with the error in attachment nr. 1 "Device installer error".

When I boot my computer the error comes in this order: first the keyboard, then keyboard, followed by the mouse and at the end Volume. Keyboard and mouse works. So the messages are just annoying. HDD however is unable to mount even with the compmgmt.msc. Then I'm met with error message displayed in attachment nr. 2 "Logical Disk Manager".

According to other posts on the internet I have check that the following files are available in the %systemroot%\system32\ :
"sfcfiles.dll"
"sfc.dll"
"desk.cpl"

I've also ran the line "%systemroot%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver" as well as a complete Windows Update. Still nothing is able to fix this. Seriously considering a full reinstall of windows. Thing is my CD is located a 10 hour drive from here :S....

Any ideas on how to fix this installer problem without having access to my windows CD?

Warning: This is gonna be messy.

Okay... So I have a HP dv6000 with Windows Vista Home Premium. Over the past six months it has been suffering from hard drive issues, resulting in crashes. The remedy to fix the crashed hard drive has been to do a complete system restore by booting the computer, hitting F11, and doing a COMPLETE SYSTEM RECOVERY to factory settings.

However, this last time I went to recover to factory settings I got a message saying Error: 10002 - Contact HP if this persists.

Long story short, I have now warranty, and do not want to get the hardware fixed nor the software looked at. I am happy with a barely functioning computer as I have a desktop I primarily use.

I am also a student in the School of Business at a state university, and we have a partnership with Microsoft for free product downloads. With that said, I have had the pleasure of using Windows 7 Professional for quiet some time on my desktop. Now, I want to just reinstall Windows on my laptop - whether its vista, xp, or 7.

That said, I have all three ISO's burned to a CD and LEGAL CD KEYS to use with them.

XP had a partition issue that I haven't spent much time with, and windows vista wont recognize my cd key that came with the laptop (THIS IS THE ONLY CD KEY I DID NOT GET ONLINE FOR I HAVE ONE LEGALLY VIA MY COMPUTER PURCHASE).

For that reason, I moved on to Windows 7. I go to install it, and the first thing that comes up in that windows 7 needs to install a cd/dvd driver dev... Read more

I am tying to sync my Samsung Galaxy J7Sky Pro phone with my computer using Samsung Smart Switch Program.
When I start the Smart Switch Program and plug in the USB cable from the phone to the computer USB port, the device driver for the phone does not install properly or recognize the phone, as depicted by a yellow exclaimation point for the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro
device driver and AMDA00 interface under system devices.
I tried reinstalling the Samsung phone device driver but still get the above exclaimation for these drivers.
I then shut down and restarted the Samsung phone and the drivers reinstalled properly and the Smart Switch Program worked.

My issue is that the next time I restarted my computer, I get the same device driver errors.
Is there some way to prevent having to restart and reinstall the device drivers each time I want to sync my phone using the Smart Switch program?
Same issue used to happen with my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone, before I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.
It is a real pain in the neck and time waster.

Right off the bat I have to say I don't know much about computers but I am learning as I go. I am also having CD problems, but it seems to have something to do with the drivers. I have XP Prof with a CD/RW/DVD and CD ROM.

In the device manager both the CD/RW/DVD and CD ROM have exclamations in a yellow circle next to each. After I run the troubleshooter it tells me Windows cannot load the device drivers for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing
. Both CD hardware is connected to one cable.

I somehow caused this to happen by installing an A drive. Right after I did that the trouble started. I put everything back just as it was before. The cables can only be installed one way. I checked everything, even to make sure the pins weren't damaged. If they had made the wires route differently, you wouldn't have to take the computer apart to install a new device.

I have unistalled the drivers and let the computer find them about 15 times now and nothing changes. I tried updating the drivers to no avail. I checked the slave master jumpers and they are as should be. When I put a CD in the player it lights up and whirs like it is trying to work, and then nothing happens. Sometimes after uninstalling the drivers and then start the computer up it will have a little note at the bottom of the screen that says the computer has found some new hardware and then it goes away. When I go into the device manager and install the drivers a... Read more

Answer:Windows cannot load the device drivers for this hardware???

Troubleshooter rarely finds much and is afraid to tell you to do things like...

Delete them, reboot, let them be redetected. Control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Expand CD so you can delete them. There should be no need for CDROM drivers, I dont think I have used them since my 486\66 computer, so not sure where your getting CD drivers or why you think you need them, FYI, unless I am misunderstanding you and you did exactly this?

Next, I would remove the A: drive and verify that is somehow causing the conflict. This could be trickier.

I would verify there is not a new motherboard bios update that may address a cdrom or ide problem.

Let us know.

In the device manager there is a Symantec Network Adapter that isnt functioning because "windows cannot load the drivers for this device" . I have been ALL over the web trying to find this device but cannot find anything even remotley close. Its an onboard device from an Intel motherboard, dont know if that makes a difference or not. I also have been trying to connect this pc to the internet and it will not connect to the server. I installed a wireless adapter, which says its connecting to the router and the internet, but it will not display any page though firefox or IE. I made sure the HTTP HTTPS and FTP ports were open.. all the IPs Gateways and all line up fine and even ping fine in the command prompt. Net View in the comand prompt runs fine too.

Is this from that adapter not working?? I cant figure it out at all. Any help would be greatful. Btw, this is a friends pc I am working on, so i dont have much history accept she opened a spam mail and could no longer connect to the net though any programs. I ran a virus scan and nothing came back. cleaned the registry with CCleaner, ran spyware detector and nothing came back the usual stuff. Any ideas?

Answer:Windows cannot load driver?

Hi

If its a Symantec Network Driver that is missing then best option as its likely that that PC has Norton Antivirus or Security Suite installed to re-install Norton again as that driver is likely part of its firewall defence.

but Uninstall Norton first and run this removal tool, then run CCleaner to remove any old temps and junk, then try the internet again, if it works then great if not do let us know and also let us know what the model of PC is if a DELL, HP etc or if a custom build let us know the Motherboard make and version.

Then install Norton again and make sure the network is allowed throught he firewall.

Other thought if the spam email has added some sneeky malware to this PC it to run this guide and post a new thread in malware forum to have the guys in their check this PC out for malware.

My PC sometimes takes ages to boot, like it's looking for a missing driver - then it eventually times out and boots windows. I go to the control panel list of hardware and there is a little exclamation mark next to a "Multimedia Audio Controller". I produce music and there's three pieces of kit that may need one

Now, all my multimedia audio controllers' drivers have loaded:

My Soundcard
Midi interface

The only one that doesn't show up on the hardware list is a midi controller / fader box thing. But it works absolutely fine, it is recognised in the USB Unplug / Eject hardware thing in the systray and I've pointed to its driver when trying to update the one that Windows says is missing. So I'm certain it's not for the midi controller.

If I don't know what piece of kit the driver is missing for, how can I update it? Windows searches for one and hasn't got it, and it doesn't give me a clue as to what it is. I disable it but every time I boot it says "Found new hardware" and it looks for a driver.

I have re-installed soundcard drivers with latest version and still no luck.

One theory I have: my motherboard comes with onboard sound Ė could the computer be trying to load this or something???

We used to have "stereo mix" option that enabled streaming audio recording without having to have the audio playing through the speakers. How do I do that now? What replaces that capability? Who makes my sound card? Why is that not readily available somewhere in Dell land? I can't believe forum searching found pretty much nothing on this.

Answer:Latitude E6530 Windows 10 no "stereo mix" option for sound input device, only "high definition audio device" with Microsoft driver and unknown manufacturer.

aj_chicagoWho makes my sound card?
Hello. The audio chip manufacturer was IDT.
aj_chicagoWhat replaces that capability?
IDT doesn't have "stereo mix", so I'm not sure how you used to have it on the E6530. IDT has an equivalent capability that it calls Rec.Playback. That can be found in the list of recording devices, after the IDT driver is installed.
aj_chicagoHow do I do that now?
Dell doesn't support audio on an E6530 that has had Win10 installed. The IDT company went out of the consumer audio business long before there was a Win10 OS, so there is no Win10 IDT driver for that model. Your computer is currently using the Windows native audio driver, which, as you say, does not support a stereo mix kind of feature.
You should be able to install the IDT driver for Win7 by installing with compatibility mode.
1. Download and save the audio driver to your desktop or any convenient location on the hard drive. [There are two "formats" on the driver's page. Scroll down to the 2nd one, named "Hard Drive" format, and download that one, not the 1st one named "Windows Update Package".]2. Double click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the driver files.3. The extractor wizard will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be at "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Write down the exact location that the wizard creates. 4. If the driver begins to install automatically, halt (cancel) the installation.5. Browse to the dri... Read more

Hi

Windows networking message displays at boot "Your network adapter FE575C-3Com 10/100 LAN CardBus Fast Ethernet is not working properly."

The control panel Device Manager:Network adapter:FE575-3Com 10/100 LAN CardBus-Fast Ethernet Properties tab displays "Device status: This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed. (Code 10.) Try upgrading the device drivers for this device."

Re-installing the driver (v 2.91), copyfiles displays message "the file addem900.txt was not found'. We manually load this file from c:\windows\system. Update Device Driver Wizard displays "Windows has finished installing an updated driver for your hardware device."

But on reboot the windows networking error message reappears.

The hardware is a gateway notebook Solo 5300 running Windows ME. Until we attempted to install DSL, we never used ethernet. The ethernet driver was not preinstalled by Gateway; this we had to do ourselves. Also, the ethernet port came plugged with a lid which had to be pried out.

What's up? Thanks. -dovidls

Reboot to normal mode and windows should reinstall the card services and then the nic. It should work after that!
Good Luck!

I have an HP Pavillion 7915 machine that I bought used. When I got it it was running Win-XP but I "downgraded" it by reformatting the drive and installing Win-98SE. (I had a good reason.) Everything is fine except that I lost the sound. The specifications for the machine on the HP web site identify the sound device as "Realtek AC97 Audio". The
device manager does show a problem with the sound card, and shows the following error message:

NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device Loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver (Code 2).

I realize that this is a very common problem, and have done a lot of trolling around the net for information. Based on what I've learned, I have checked all of the following, to no avail:

Checked that I have the most recent available driver, and that the file I downloaded is compatible with Win-98SE

Verified that I have the most recent version available for the BIOS

The driver apparently needs Direct X ver-8 or later, I have ver-9.0c on the machine.

Ran the Windows System File Check utility to check for missing or damaged system files. No problems found.

Verified that all of the driver files identified in the "driver details" list in the device manager are actually present on the system.

Removed and reinstalled the driver several times.

So, what else is there left to try that I haven't thought of?

I just got my new computer a few days ago and I've been downloading the usual drivers, updates etc. for it. The graphics card is GeForce 6800 GT, so I downloaded the latest driver (61.77) from www.nvidia.com. This worked perfectly until I found out there were further "updates" - and the stupidity of what I did should become apparent now - located here: http://3dchipset.com/drivers/beta/nvidia/nt5/index.php.

Following the flimsy advice that I found on another forum site, I went for the 62.20 download. I can't remember precisely when things went wrong after this, but I think the next two or three restarts were successful.

The current situation is: I switch on the computer - it gets as far as the screen where it says Windows did not start successfully. There is a 30 second timer counting down, and the options are:

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Last Known Good Configuration
Start Windows Normally

The first three options start a series of lines down the screen which read "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\Syste m32\DRIVERS\" and then after "DRIVERS" there will be a *.sys file, e.g. ACPI.sys. After the last line the computer freezes.

"Last Known Good Configuration" makes the screen go black and it stays like that. "Start Windows Normally" freezes the screen, including the timer, and it stays like that. The only options from here are the power on/off or reset bu... Read more

Answer:Can't load Windows after driver update

Well, if this is a result of your driver installation then you need to uninstall it. You can select Safe Modem W/Networking and uninstall the driver that way, after that everything should be okay. If not, since its a new install, I'd reformat and start over.

Cheers!

I have an older system, but it's a nice setup featuring Gigabytes EP45-UD3P, Q9550 CPU, 8gb DDR2 OCZ platinum, dual 1TB of Seagate hard drives, and EVGA GTX 295 graphics card.

I turn my machine off, and the machine refuses to display. I get to the windows colors screen in Win 7 Pro, and once it proceeds to load the desktop the screen goes black without a cursor, and that's where it stays.
This can be corrected by me reloading the Boot record when turning the system on, however upon powering the system off it does the same thing till I instigate another boot record repair.

I've replaced the hard drives, and CMOS battery. I tried starting the system in safe mode, and it loads fine. I then narrowed the issue down to Win 7 not loading the video driver on startup.

Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

Thank you.

I'm new and need some help haha. I need to reinstall Windows 8 and it tells me that I need to load a driver before the install can begin. I have no idea how to do that or where to find the driver for my computer (HP ENVY m6 1125-dx). I know for a fact that its my hard disk driver... SATA driver? Anyways, thanks for the help in advance!!

Answer:Windows 8 Load Driver During Install Help!

"I know for a fact..."

What's the exact error message?
Is it "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
If so, see support.microsoft.com/kb/2755139 :

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" or "A media driver your computer needs is missing" error message when you try to install Windows by using a Windows installation DVD or ISO file

First go through the steps shown on the laptop that is working properly (do not change anything). Then for comparison, look at the laptop that is not working. Do you see extra registry entries? If you do, remove the upper and lower filters.

Why is getting drivers installed on a new PC installation so difficult. I went to the Dell site and downloaded all the drivers. THen I went to device manager menu, and for each unknown device, I have to try every downloaded driver (around 25). I can't imagine everyone doing this... I mean first of all it does not search itself on the internet and secondly, we have to try each driver downloaded for each device. After doing all this, I still get driver not found for PCI device. I am tired. Can someone please tell me which driver I need to download for this? I don't want to try everything over again.. its very difficult.

I tried to make a thread for this earlier, but I mistake on the driver name. So I'll try this again. Windows can't identify the manufacturer my PCI device driver, but I got the Hardware Id for it (PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5289&SUBSYS_528910EC&REV_01) and a Google searchh told me that it's a Realtek PCIE Card Reader, but I tried downloading that from Realtek website and also from the Acer website and still get that same error in Device Manager. My laptop model is Aspire V5-571G. The driver details in Device Manager are as follows: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)There are no compatible drivers for this device. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." And it says that the manufacturer is unknown. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi again all!

I just experienced Windows 7 giving me a "cannot load driver message"
for my HP 1260 DVD burner. It is fairly new [less than 30 days], has worked perfect thus far, and now will not work at all.

I cut and pasted two screen shots. One, of the message itself. Two, of the device manager's yellow flag.

Can anyone help me to resolve this issue please?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Soar

Answer:Windows suddenly cannot load driver for my DVD burner

Silly question but have you tried rolling back to the previous driver? What was you doing on the PC when this happened? If it still doesn't work, try disconnecting the power and IDE/SATA and plug it back in give it a shot, let us know!
