Audio Video streaming problem

Question: Audio Video streaming problem

I am currently working on a modeling web site and I want to offer a

online portfolio where models can post their photos, audio and video

files, thus making it a multimedia based portfolio.

Here is the list of the files I plan to allow the models to upload in

their portfolio
Photos - .gif, .jpg, .bmp
Audio - .mpeg, wma, mp3, ram and wav
Video - .avi, .mpeg, .mpg, .ram, and .mov

I am trying to find a way for users of this site to view the audio/video

files without having any file format specific plug-in or player installed

on their desktops. So far I have concluded that it would be best if

somehow I can manage to stream down the audio and video files on the

client’s desktop in Flash format since this would require the clients to

have only a Flash player which is a very common plug-in now a days.

I am seeking a way to convert the various files that models upload i.e

mpeg, wma, mp3, ram, wav, avi, .mpeg, .mpg, .rm, and .mov to a common swf

Flash format.

Is anyone aware of such a tool or piece of application that would

automatically convert all uploaded files to Flash format. Also if there

is a Flash component that would allow real-time streaming of the flash

files in the client’s browser without saving the swf files in the

Internet Cache or Temporary Internet Files folder.

Any help, advice or pointers on this matter would be highly appreciated.

If anyone has developed such a feature in the past then I am also open to

buying that from him (of course I can’t pay a lot of money).

Let me know.

Thanks
V

Preferred Solution: Audio Video streaming problem

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I cannot see videos or listen to audios anymore. I keep getting the message of "can not create direct show player" in a small box when I want to listen to any radio programs. Does anyone know what this is about? I don't see any references to this here or elsewhere.
There is a npdsplay at the top of the box.

Can you direct me to where to look?

Thanks

Hello. I am trying to watch live video on nbcolympics.com. When I load a video, the advertisement comes up and plays, then when the streaming loads, the video goes black, but I can hear the audio .

Any suggestions? I'm running an intel i7 on Win7 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 58XX graphics card. I have tried upgrading my drivers, to no avail...

Answer:Solved: Streaming Video - Audio, no Video

I found the solution on another website - disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking on the video and going to 'settings' resolves this issue. Then the browser needs to be restarted.

Apparently its a fairly common problem with the current Flash build.

When trying to stream video through WMP, the picture is normal and working but I cannot get sound. Sound works perfectly fine when I play normal saved video and sound files through any program on my pc. I was wondering if this is something do to with my sound card, or if any of you guys would have any idea as to what I could do to help solve this problem!

Thanks.

I have a problem that I can't quite figure out.

I went away for the summer for work, and while i was gone somebody was messing around with my computer.
When I got back i noticed i have no audio on any of my streaming videos on websites like google video, youtube or break.com
The wierd thing is I do get audio one or two smaller websites that don't host off of those 'big names'.
Anyhow I tried to solve the problem myself but have found no luck.
I tried virus scans, spyware, any kind of scanner they have listed on the net.
I reinstalled internet explorer, i tried using fire fox. No avail. All sound settings are set to high, and i double checked on both the browser and control panel (my music works perfectly). I reinstalled quick time and windows media player even followed some wanky instructions on the net to figure it out but to no avail.
The only solution I could think of is doing a system restore, but I've modified my computer so much and its been so long since the computers been running since the problem cropped up that I dont think it will work and I dont want to try to change it.

Anybody help?

Thanks

have you tried deleting your cookies and temporary internet files? windows allocates a certain amount of space to the browser for downloaded internet files, i suspect this space has been filled, think of it like an overflowing bin in your front room, if you try to fill it too much, it will just end up all over the floor.

to delete the temporary files, just find the (internet)options within the tools dropdown menu on all browsers, there will be something saying cookies or temporary internet files in there and click remove/delete files.

Hi everyone. I have a large iTunes collection and also a ripped DVD collection on my external hard drive. I understand that, with the right hardware, it is possible to stream this to either my stereo or my TV.

Currently when I want to watch a DVD I take my laptop, connect it to my TV through VGA and then watch through media player.

I'm interested in the option of doing this wirelessly, but am not sure what hardware I need. Ideally I'd like to be able to use my wireless network to stream video from my laptop to any TV in my house, and audio to any TV or to my stereo system.

I guess it's lazy, but otherwise I have to unplug my printer, external hard disk etc. and move it around the house all the time and I'd like to avoid doing that if possible.

Cheers!

I performed a couple of google searches trying to find out how to prevent streaming audio/video on our network. Unfortunately, it seems like most of these streaming audio/video formats use random ports, so blocking ports won't work. Can anyone recommend a way (without using a proxy server) to prevent users from accessing streaming audio/video within our network?

Thanks,

Hello all, I wish to pick your brains please :)I am wanting to set up a video and audio distribution network in the house.I would like to have a central server with all the video and audio on which is accessible from may be as many as 10 or 12 seperate zone computers. Will it be possible to employ a gigabite network and be able to listen and watch several films and sound tracks in different zones at the same time from the central server? Is this a matter of employing user friendly interface software which will enable you to scroll through menus on the zone computers to pick the tracks/ films from the server? Obviously the hardware spec should be good to any suggestions for server and zone computer spec if its feasible. If I wished to use each of the zone computers for surfing and normal pc word processing etc would it make sense to dual boot and partition them with say media centre for if you wish to use the entertainment network and maybe xp for surfing to try to avoid conflicts? Please offer all advice possible I am sure this should be possible but would need to get a techy to help me set it up but am still a bit unsure if it would work or if their are other observations to be made.

Answer:Video, Audio streaming network

10 - 12 "zone"/client computers? Are you setting up a video-viewing shop? The critical aspect will be your server's ability to service so many clients concurrently, with a worse case scenario of all of them wanting to access the same video or audio file/track.Your client computers configuration can be standard; Media Centre is essentially XP Pro with extra GUI modules integrated, so either will do.I don't know what exactly you would want such a setup for, but I can't see what extra benefits dual-boot capability will give your client PCs.It depends what level of service you intend to provide each client computer ~ the optimum would be the ability to have separate partitions with server based software handling the load balancing and masses of memory so particular files which are in high demand are left resident in memory. As you are struggling with XP/Media Centre for the client PCs already, the server side is going to be a lot more complex (and costly). There simply will not be enough space even in this forum, to reasonably "offer all advice possible".

Answer:No Video (audio only) When Live Streaming

What exact pages don't work/or what player are they using? YouTube is "streaming" video, so obviously "streaming" video is working.

Most likely, whatever player is used on the page(s) that don't work, needs to be updated or reinstalled.

Can somebody help me with this application?

Whenever I try to stream audio the stream always breaks after X number of minutes. I'm not sure just what to set the buffer settings at under preferences ->plug-ins->IN_MP3.dll to stop this.

The odd thing is this - once the stream breaks it will not continue until I finally get up from what I am doing and touch the mouse. Then the stream buffers itself and continues for a while, but it will break again soon. I've deleted all the Shoutcast audio stations from my plylists because it is more hassle than its worth if I have to get up every five or ten minutes to fix the problem. And it seems as if it doesn't matter if the stream stops for five seconds or five minutes - perversely, it will not continue until I get up and attempt to fix it by reselectlng the channel. Although this isn't neccessary - as I said, as soon as I touch the mouse it corrects itself. So I've given up listening to radio and only listen to my mp3 collection. I can't relax to the radio - as soon as I'm relaxed I have to get up and fix the radio (Winamp).

If there's no way to fix it by changing the settings, I wish somebody could write me a script that would detect whenthe stream is broken for more than five or ten seconds, and try to rebuffer and reconnect. I only have so many mp3s to listen to. But as I said before, trying to listen to streaming audio on Winamp is more trouble than its worth. And of Wi... Read more

Hello All,

A bit of a long shot. I have a habit of keeping lots of live music on my Windows 7 Mediacenter as avi video files. I'd really like to be able to stream it to my Wireless Music Player (a Revo Mondo) over UPnP. But being an Audio device, none of the avi files are visible to it.

Has anyone found anyway of getting MCE to transcode the video on the fly to extract the audio and just stream that?

Thanks in advance!

It is called Any video Converter and you can get it here: Free Video Converter - Any Video Converter Free Version - convert video to any formats, avi to MPEG, avi to MP4, flv to MPG

Hi,

I have been using this laptop (Dell inspiron 15r SE) since more than 4 years and it has worked flawlessly.
Although recently I have noticed that while streaming on any browser at more than [email protected] the video starts to lag behind the audio and it becomes quite annoying.
As a temporary fix I have to seek it back or forward a couple seconds before it re-syncs but later it starts desyncing again.
The native resolution has been FHD and I have a decent internet connection.
I use Firefox(Beta) natively but have also tried to stream on chrome but the problem persists.
Also to confirm that it wasn't the hardware that was grossly outdated I played a native 1080p video without any syncing issues.

Any help regard this would be great.

Thanks.

Not sure where this belongs, since it is audio thought here, feel free to move to proper location if there is one...

This has been an issue for me for a long while now and still cant figure out why, I have gone and built another PC with a better sound card but still cannot get any audio.

I have no problems with audio when I am streaming video from a file, but if it is live streaming I get video but no audio, sorry it seems repetitive but just drives me nuts.

I have a hauppauge1600 PCI Tuner card, and I had no problem with the video, nor with the audio when I was in Media Center, and when streaming a video file, I have tried using some streaming programs and havent had any luck, have used: webcamax, unreal, broadcam, adobe flash video encoder, windows media encoder, video lan.... and nothing plays audio

I have also installed codecs, sharks codecs and even bought another tuner card Kworld PCI ATSC Hybrid HDTV Card (PC150-U). Even got a new Creative X-Fi extreme sound card thinking that was going to fix it, but noooooooo....

at wits end at the moment, and about to shelve this again for a few weeks, but this is last resort, can someone point me in right direction or at least help me trouble shoot?

HELP!

Answer:Have video but no Audio, when streaming live

Guess no one wants to mess with this one, and I'll have to shelve it yet once again. I took out the X-Fi sound card, and still have no audio when streaming live, even updated the RealTek Hd audio drivers to latest. so the onboard dont work either on live streaming.

Has anyone seen this problem where you can Stream video with audio just fine but some other sites you just get the video with no audio.

This is from WMP 11. The sites are in arabic, and I don't currently have any links.

Answer:Streaming video/audio issue.

Some streaming videos only offer video without any sound. In that case, the volume should be greyed out.

If you're supposed to have sound but it doesn't work, perhaps a codec pack would help, like the K-Lite Codec Pack 4.7.5.

Live streaming movies or TV shows from sites like Primewire or Watchseries no matter the link after awhile the audio is a few seconds before the video. This started happening a few months ago. Drivers are up to date. Tried different browsers. Checked for malware and ran a cleaner. I think it might have to do with one of the Windows 10 updates?

If you want to have some type of on-line interactive meeting between people at two or more locations, the feature is included with Windows 2000 and XP:

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/NetMeeting/InAction/default.ASP

If you wish to broadcast your meeting over the internet then you will need to run some type of streaming server and have a high bandwidth connection out of your meeting location.

The main problem is the video and audio is not in sync anymore when streaming. Could be trailers on movie sites, or watching episodes on putlocker. and even youtube. The video starts off fine but then it becomes more and more out of sync the longer you stream the video. It does not happen on any videos installed on my harddrive which I use vlc player for. Here are my laptop details. I use google chrome plus as my browser.

Acer aspire 5740
i3, 330m, 2.12ghz,1066mhz fsb
intel graphics media acc. hd up to 1274 mb dvmt
3gb memory
250 gb hdd
Windows 7 ultimate

Would appreciate any help, thank you

Answer:Audio and video sync problems when streaming

Some said update windows and check what codecs im using. I upgraded the driver for the graphics card and checked my windows updates. Im not sure if this is odd or normal but every security update since 2010 both important and optional say the same thing,

A security issue has been identified that could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to compromise your system and gain control over it. You can help protect your system by installing this update from microsoft. After you intstall this update, you may have to restart you system.

Is this normal, again would appreciate the help

I recently bought a Intel 520 series 240GB SSD. I took out my old HDD and installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit fresh on the SSD. It was going fine until I would try and play a streaming video from sites like NHL(dot)com or even listen to a podcast from a audio streaming site. After a couple seconds of watching a video my PC freezes and gives me a BSOD and I have to restart. I have the latest drivers for my video card and even my sound card. I will attach my BSOD info files. Could it be a bad SSD? I bought intel because of their reliability, hopefully I don't need to return it

Also, I tried reinstalling Windows 7 again and I have the same issue. I also don't think it is my GPU because I can play games fine.

System specs

mobo: ASUS Crosshair V formula
GPU: Nvidia GTX580
RAM: 16GB Kingston hyperx
CPU: AMD Phenom x6 1055T
Sound card: ASUS Xonar essence XTS
Storage: Intel 520 series 240gb SSD.

Nothing is overclocked and my temps are very cool.

Answer:BSOD while streaming video/audio. New intel SSD!

First, make sure all Windows Updates are installed. Check that your Windows installation is ready for Windows updates. Please follow the Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions. Post the results in your next post; do not start a new thread.

Hi, I just retired my windows XP preparing for what will come this april. Everything is fine and I like 7 well enough I suppose, but since I installed it I have had stuttering issues with running streaming video and some audio. I have tried using my on board sound with the latest drivers, no love... I even bought an although outdated and out of service but good enough sound card just for this win 7 an audigy se 24bit, fantastic sound for 17 dollars. So the problem is not related to these two different sound hardware sources. I did turn off windows defender since I don't need it, I turned up system power to high performance and yet there is no change in this stuttering problem. I watch video on line courses and it is a terrible distraction to have to deal with such a simple problem that for some reason seems to have no fix. Has anyone any suggestions that might point to something I've missed in win 7. I realize this is not considered a fast machine but it is fast enough for what I did in XP and it should be fast enough for another 32 bit system. Of course there is too much bloat in win 7 and I am still learning what I should turn off or disable, this is just marketing and causing more issues for people that just want a complete functional operating system without all the bloat.

Thanks

If flash is involved, try turning off hardware acceleration:

You might also want to test using Chrome.

Hello,

I cannot hear audio when streaming video content is being played eg. YouTube videos and webinar videos. I can see the video.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. HP Notebook, Core2Duo, 2GHz, 3GB RAM.

Further, I also checked through Help & Support on my system, and found that when I go to Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > Sounds tab, and select any of the programs listed in that tab eg. Asterisk, Critical Battery Alarm, Critical Stop and so on, I cannot hear the test sound when I click on the "Test" icon.

My speakers are turned up full volume. My default sound device is Speakers & Dual Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec), and the message on the tab says "This device is working properly". Other sound devices like Digital Output Device (HDMI) and SPDIF Digital Out via HP Dock are also said to be working properly on the relevant tab.

I can hear audio CDs, downloaded songs from the net, gtalk conversations. I can also record voice and playback without a problem.

Thanks

Answer:[SOLVED] Cannot hear audio on streaming video

Right click the volume Icon in the System Tray and choose Open the Volume Mixer. Make sure Applications and System Sounds is not muted and the Volume is all the way up.

I just got a Lenovo U350 and absolutely love it, save for one major issue. Whenever I am watching any sort of streaming video (Netflix, Youtube, etc.) the audio tends to cut out at various points. Once the audio cuts out I am not able to get it back unless I refresh the page, or in some instances close out the browser entirely. I have encountered this problem in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. All other audio works perfectly (Pandora has not once cut out and MP3's work fine.) I first thought this was a problem with Flash, but streaming Netflix uses a different method all together and it experiences the same issues. It is very frustrating to say the least. Does anyone have any recommendations so I can depend on this awesome little machine to work frustration free? Any help would be greatly appreciated. PS I am using Windows 7 with all the latest software updates.

Answer:U350 and audio loss when streaming video.

I've also experienced this, although at much lower frequency. In a month of so of ownership, I've had it happen twice (once on youtube, once on netflix). I am not sure why either. But I would get audio back immediately if I adjust the volume using fn-arrow_key (mute/unmute does not fix it). Not sure if this will work for you. It's not a huge hassle since it doens't happen often and the fix is easy. Good luck.

Hi there, recently I had messed with some codecs and stuff to try and watch a certain DVD that was being difficult. I messed up some codecs and such in the process and I couldnt see any streaming video and if I played any streaming audio, the sound would just be a scratch sound, that regardless of how high or low I turned the player's volume, would remain at the same level of "loudness".

So I decided to reformat and just reinstall the drivers from the original discs. I did that, and now I am still having the same problem.

I am using SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio drivers and an ASUS P5NSLI Motherboard.
I can post my system specs if you would like, I just dont know where to go from this point, I was sure a reformat would fix the problem.

Thanks in advance.

This is my first here. So please be gentile.

I seem to have an irritating sound reverberation in the audio whenever I play a buffered video off the internet.(sounds like in a tunnel). I am on a voice chat IM. So I thought I might be getting some kind of audio or electronic feedback through the system. I checked to see if the mic was off. Also went into Sounds and Media in the control panel of Windows and turned down or off all non essentials that weren't being used. Like MIDI, AUX, LINE and Phone. Didn't work. Never tried to turn off the mic in Sounds and Media because I shriek at the thought of having to go in and turn the mic on every time I voice chat. And the mic IS externally turned off. Any ideas out there?

I use Windows Me V4.90.3000 , IE V5.5, Creative Sound Blaster PCI 16, Conexant SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone Modem.

I've noticed that there are no ansers from anyone. Maybe audio reverberation is just a nature of the beast when it comes to streaming video. Let me ask this. Done anyone ells have the same problem with streaming video? Maybe there is nothing there that can be fixed.

Thanks!

Are you able to browse the internet? If so this probably should go into the OS section as its not the actual "networking" thats broken.

Anyone played around much with recording streaming media (audio and video)? I have a need to record some city council meetings from a stream on the web, but my attempts to get something to work haven't been entirely successful. I've been using Camtasia Studio 4.0. Video recording works fine, but audio is unintelligible (tried several different methods).

What do you guys use to record video/audio streams (not just audio, and not just video)?

Thanks!

Answer:Recording streaming media (audio and video)

lets see, there is a host of tools for the Firefox/lolifox browsers that can download and/or record streaming media. I use "Fast Video Download" from the FF addons site.

Hi,
I am an WP8 user since last December and recently I bought a Seagete Wireless Plus HDD to use in pair with my iPad Air. As always with Apple I had to buy a media player that supports the most common video formats (.avi) with audio format (AC3). After I bought an app I was able to stream play all of my movies on my iPad. Then I decided to do the same on my Nokia 920 with Windows Phone 8.1. Unfortunately I found you that again those formats are not supported on the platform (only Android supports them out of the box). As it is .avi format I was shocked to find our this as it is a Windows format. So here is my questions:
Has anyone found a way to stream video's with .avi video format and AC3 audio formats from Seagete Wireless Plus HDD. On a side note I know there is not WP8 Seagete application but some videos are streamable via thir web application.

Have you considered Helix server (from Real)? Its quite efficient, and you can stream live audio/video using Helix Producer if you so desire.

Shoutcast DNAS is great for audio streaming, but not so great for video.

What is the application? Broadcasting live a/v, or mainly streaming static files?

Hello,

Got a new machine, and installed it fresh windows 8.0 -> 8.1 download/upgraded. I've done what I felt were the basics. Ensured all drivers to knowledge are good, performed work on it. When I seem to be playing games in fullscreen mode, being captured to a streaming software that utilizes an OpenGL capture with a C920 webcam displayed, it will work fine some nights, other nights it will crash repeatedly. Scenarios can be the same. Same game, same activities.

Temperatures of the system are seemingly stable from what I can see. The culprits I'm concerned about are:
- Drivers (Obviously... just don't know the specific knowhow to isolate it from the dump files, would love a point to a direction on how to analyze them properly)
- Potential issue with C920 Logitech webcam
- Potential issue with 3rd sound card plugged in via USB
- Potential issue with video card, but it seems the drivers are up to date.

I've only had this system for about a month. But the bluescreen going down interrupts shows I'm putting on. Instead of blindly learning at a slow pace, I figured I'd try here first.

Thanks and looking forward to working with you and can be eternally grateful for a direction:

Answer:BSOD - 8.1 - When Streaming video/Audio with new machine

I have long suspected stability problems with USB sound cards, but there's just not enough evidence to support me saying that they are the cause of the BSOD's.

Your UEFI/BIOS dates from 2012. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the UEFI/BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one) - that is much more forgiving than the traditional (floppy drive) flash method.

Hi,

I found a solution to this problem.

Both Internet Explorer (ver 6) and FireFox Mozilla on my machine (windows XP) were not able to show streaming videos. I was only able to hear audio.

The solution was simple - change Video acceleration in windows media player to zero.

Start -->all programs -> Windows media player -> tools -> options -> performance tab

I installed Vista Business on my computer, with WMP 11.0.6, and after that, I began having trouble streaming both video and audio on my computer. I can't access services such as launch.yahoo or videos on any site - I didn't have this problem when I was running XP Pro, or even in previous installs of Vista.

I've tried disabling both my firewall and anti-virus, and tried each of the following streaming protocols UDP, TCP and HTTP, but am still unable to stream.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I may have overlooked, or ways to let me stream music/video again? It's just this computer, my laptop with XP pro on it can access launch.yahoo just fine, so I know it's not my internet connection.

Itsnt that version the one used with the pre-beta version of SP1 for Vista? If so uninstall it. That should solve your problem.

When I play in the small window mode the playback is fine so I tried lowering my screen resolution from 1680x1050 to 800x600 then played

I am having a problem with streaming recorded  television content from Hoopla onto the Yoga2 tablet.  It works fine with my Android smartphone, but when I try to stream it to my Android yoga2 tablet, it only plays the audio, and doesn't display the video. I also tried to download load it fully, then play it in airplane mode, but this was even worse - it appeared to fully download, but when I tried to play that version, again no picture, but I do get sound - for only a few seconds, and then I get a blank screen and it seems to have crashed. In the same day, I successfully streamed a movie from Hoopla into the tablet with both video and audio running just fine.I spoke at length with Hoopla, trying all sorts of things like re-installing their app,  trying other content, even going to a different wi-fi location , but since  everything is working when I use the smartphone, they could not help. Any thoughts? Any settings i should be looking at? I think it's odd that movies work but recorded television does not.

Streaming audio/video hiccups, burps, rebuffers

quick overview:
running XP, Verizon DSL 1500/384, Westell 327 modem, Kerio Firewall

whenever i run any streaming audio or video, whether it's with WinAmp, Real Player, or Media Player 10 it constantly skips and rebuffers. you can pretty much forget trying to listen to a whole song the whole way through without it doing this, which makes it pretty damn annoying!!!!

DSL speeds are good and constant. but i do notice that the "internet" light on my Westell is always blinking when going from page to page or site to site a lot. is this natural or should it be just lit as a constant. if it is blinking is there a problem with what is getting through? and could that be what is causing the hiccups of the audio.

i don't see anything out of the ordinary at 192.168.1.1 as far as settings go.

i'm lost and just plain annoyed!! what's the use of having a broadband connection if you can't enjoy audio and video streams.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

So here's my problem

When I watch YouTube videos I get random stutters where the sound skips. The image doesn't seem to freeze though, just the sound

I also get issues with the sound streaming music online, where it pauses for a second and stutters even though it's not buffering.

When this happens, NT Kernel & System shoots up in task manager and uses more CPU than the browser. This by the way happens in every browser, IE, Chrome or Firefox.

It doesn't happen when playing music in iTunes or watching videos from my hard drive.

That being said I'm not posting about a buffering type stutter, I am aware of that and this is not it. This is like basically suddenly the computer has a big spike in memory or cpu usage and the video/sound clip stutters for a sec. But it happens often enough to be very annoying. In a 15 min YouTube clip it happened 10 times.

I have reinstalled my IDT High Definition Codec and my Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver, but still the problem persists.

Any thoughts of what I can do?

Answer:Sound stutters when streaming video or audio online.

Try this test: Start a Youtube video and immediately hit the pause button. Watch the movement of the red progress bar until it fully loads the video. This obviously eliminates any buffering issues if the problem is still there when you try to play the video this way. You might also want to do a speed test on you internet connection. Here are my results:

Now, I know you are convinced that it is absolutely not a buffering issue and you have done nice testing to that end; however, I would still try the tests as described above. Good luck.

Hello there members ,

I'm working on my mom's computer again. Last time I was here it had a bunch of viruses, and the good folks here helped a lot to get it functional again. It does not have a virus now, nor malware, but it is extremely slow. Trying to play music from Internet stations or watch youtube videos online is impossible, and overall it feels sluggish.

The Windows Task Manager shows CPU usage pretty low at 4% or so. 71 processes running which doesn't seem high to me. I see System Idle Process, CPU at 99? Not sure that's it though. There's probably about 55% or so available on the C disk drive. I'm about to defrag it and see if that fixes anything, but I'm pretty doubtful.

I've run all the usual anti-spyware (Spybot + Malware bytes), and anti-virus (Avira) but that hasn't helped a thing. What are some things I can do to troubleshoot?

BTW it's Windows XP on this machine. Any assistance is most appreciated

Answer:Slow Computer - Herky / Jerky Streaming Audio Video

Did you used to have the problem before your malware issues? Playing audio and video online could simply be an issue with your Internet connection. When you say playing is impossible, what does that mean, nothing comes out, stuttering.... Have you measured your upload and download speed? Speedtest is fine, if you avoid hitting the ads. What sort of things are sluggish? Page changes, mouse movements, programs starting up.........The System Idle process being 99 means it's not very busy! 71 processes does seem a bit high but these days every man and his dog wants to run a service on your PC. Mine are currently 54. I would have thought that during your malware removal exercise, others in this forum would have indicated what programs and services do not need to be running.

Hello,

I have a problem running movies through my newly built server w/ RAID. I'll give you the specs of the server first:

Inter(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz,
4GB RAM
64 Bit OS Windows 7
RAID

I just built a server running RAID with 3x 2TB hard drives, and an extra 1.5 TB hard drive on the side. Video/Audio skips anytime you stream it to any other computer in the house. However, if the stream is from the extra 1.5 TB hard drive that's not on the RAID, it's perfectly fine.

Let me know what you think... hopefully this is a easy fix.

Hi,

I have a problem when i streamed video on the web such as Youtube, the video appear choppy and jerky while the audio is running ok. But I could run the video smoothly on 240p resolutions but not higher. Is there any setting on the laptop to improve this?

Answer:Video streaming on the net appear choppy and jerky while audio is running smoothly

Unfortunately I don't have any inspiring ideas, just some standard ones that I can suggest.

A) Make sure you haven't set the battery settings to low. I know on my lap top if I have it set to the power-saving setting than everything runs pretty poorly.

B) Update video card drivers. Usually my first suggestion for anything video related. Or, if you just updated them, roll back to an older version.

C) Make sure you don't have a lot of stuff running in the back ground. Did you download something recentley and then this started happening? Make sure it isn't doing funny stuff in the back ground.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Like I said, it's nothing unorthodox, really, but hopefully it might help.

I tried to do as much research as possible so I don't sound too dumb, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious. I have an old Intel motherboard in venerable CPU tower. My OS is Windows 2000 Professional, and I recently abandoned Explorer for Firefox.

The trouble is this: although I have plenty of memory on the hard drive (10gig), flash players will routinely dump the audio halfway through a segment. Rarely will the thing play through. The audio loss is accompanied by loading loss. Even if I've let the video load, the audio kicks out and it will stream silently for two seconds and pause itself. If I drag the bar a few minutes down the line, it will still be silent, and stream there for two seconds and pause itself.

I have no plug-ins in Firefox. If it's a system conflict, I don't know how to isolate it. I do have Belarc, Aida32, Total Commander, and Security Task Manager. Perhaps they hold answers. I've also seen that virtual memory plays a role, and I'm no longer sure where to set that allowable limit, but I believe it's in line.

Interestingly, pure audio streams never poop out like that. I'm addicted to old time radio, and they work beautifully. It leads me to believe there's some system conflict, but I'm the patient, not a doctor.

Incidentally, the reason I ditched IE for Firefox was that IE tended to take 95-99% of memory usage. Firefox however does the same thing. My systems clean, so sayeth King Nor... Read more

Answer:BSOD Driver IRQL Not Less Than Or Equal when playing streaming video or audio

OK--I re-attached the Zip File--hopefully this works better. My apologies for the previous attachment.

Hello-

Whenever I play streaming video or audio my PC will crash with a BSOD. The error shown is "Driver IRQL Not Less Than Or Equal". Looking at the reports, it references ndis.sys as being the possible culprit.

From what I understand, this has to do with the driver for my network card which I have updated, but I continue to get the BSOD and error message.

Here are the details of my system:

Vista Home Premium SP2
HP E5300 Dual Core CPU @2.6GHZ p6110f
6.00 GB RAM
64 bit operating system
I have updated my graphics, audio, chipset and network drivers, yet I still have this problem.
Here is the detailed BugCheck/Dumpfile. Thanks so much for your help!

I recently installed Windows Service Pack 2, actually three times after reinstating my computer software to the original state by erasing and reinstalling the full software install CD on my computer's hard drive for Window XP Home. I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? I can attach my system computer file of my information if you like in an e-mail if it will help. AND YES I HAVE THE DIVX CODECS. I thought about that to and uninstalled and reinstalled them with the same random problems. PLEASE HELP ME. This is really annoying.

Answer:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

Recently my computer developed this problem---when I go to the website of a radio station, in this example, www wabcradio.com or www plj.com and click to listen live?the pop up page for the player loads up, and the player says ?ready? but nothing happens when I click the button. The same basic problem also happens when I go to the Sirius Online Player (of which I am a subscriber)---however, if I go to Youtube I get normal audio and video. Also if I go to Shoutcast and pick a station, I get normal audio. Also if I go to a website ? radiotime.com (which has a whole bunch of radio stations streams collected together, I can hear the wabcradio.com feed although the website has its own player pop up.

I can hear streams through Winamp also.

Now, on my system I have Windows Media 11, VLC media player 0.8.6f , Quicktime player 7.2, Winamp 5.541.

I have checked and updated Flash and Shockwave.

This problem occurs with both IE 7.0 5730.11 and Firefox 3.0.6

I have Windows XP with SP2---SP3 Wont install because I do not have a Word 2002 Disc
I do not know what else to check or update to figure this problem out. If anyone can give me some advice I would appreciate it.

I'm trying to Record Streaming Audio from a website, and none of the software I'm using is picking up the sound...The software picks up the mic, and line-in, but doesn't pick up the streaming audio, or anything that is being played on the computer.....I really need some help with this..I don't thinks it's the software...I have Nero Wave Editor, and a Sony Music Creator Software...Neither can pick up the streaming audio...

Answer:Problem Recording Streaming Audio

Set the default recording device to Stereo Mix if you have it.

Right click on the Microsoft Speaker icon in the task bar, select recording devices.
Right click anywhere in the window that opens and enable both "Show Disconnected" and "Show Disabled Devices" do you see "Stereo Mix" as an option? If so, select it and click the "Set Default" button.

There may be a Record Level luring under one of the tabs.

I have recently built a computer with Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit, and dual processor. Whenever I attempt to load a stream from the web (audio or video), I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page. It happens on all streaming sites. The Windows Media Player seems to play all formats from all sources except the Internet. Has anyone here experienced this? Does anyone have a solution?

I would like to be able to record streaming audio from the internet, but can't access the controls which allow this.Normally i could do this with my old pc by opening the advanced audio settings from control panel. There used to be a setting call Stereo Mix, and once ticked this would then allow internet radio to be recorded. But with my new PC this option does not appear to be available.I have just three options Wave, Sw synth and Cd player, but no others.I've looked in device manager to see if the drivers are all working, and all seems ok.They are Legacy audio drivers, and Sigma Tel codecs.Any ideas, thanks in advance.

Running Win7 Pro SP1, Chrome ver 63.0.3239.132

When I go to CBSnews.com the page loads just fine. At the top of the page there is a black bar with a choice entitled CBSN which is their streaming video site. Most of the time clicking on that works. Every once in a while I get a screen that says:

"This page isn't working. www.cbsnews.com redirected you too many times. Try clearing your cookies."

I clear my cookies and it doesn't help. I can't get the page to work. I've tried rebooting and that doesn't help. I keep fiddling around and finally it will work.

Does any one have any ideas as t what is happening and how to correct the problem when it happens? I hope I'm making my self clear.

Thanks, Henry

Hi,I have setanta broadband but are having problems viewing this and other videos via the internet. I have downloaded up to date flash versions, i have also download firefox etc and also cleared a lot of files off my PC but it still not helps. The videos start buffering then after 5 seconds or so freeze and start buffering again. Can anyone advise me on this problem? Thanks in advance.

Answer:Streaming/Video problem

Google for "Broadband Speedtest" and see if your data throughput is what you paid for. If it is OK in the test, it could be that the slow down is at the other end.Major sporting events may have peak viewing audiences too big for the service provider, though you would think that since Setanta's business is based on this, they would have adequate bandwidth.

OS: Windows XP
Video: Intel on-board
Ram: 1gb

I've got a PC having video problems streaming but only with these sites that stream live football games and sports events. It runs fine with youtube etc. No problems with movies or anything like that. All the basic stuff checked like updated video drivers, disk space, flash etc. Also tried disabling hardware accelerator. The sound works fine but the video runs in slow motion. My thinking is the on-board card or lack of memory but the fact it runs other site such as youtube I'm doubting this. BB speed is excellent so this is not the problem. Any ideas?

Answer:Video streaming problem.

Look to the web pages FAQ's and see what the minimum requirements are. You may need a video card with separate video memory to play this site. Also when streaming, stop the video from automatically starting, and let it buffer for a few minutes (there may be a grey progress bar ahead of the actual playing progress bar)
Be sure to update Java and Shockwave.

I am having problems with streaming videos from some, er, adult sites and also, intermittently, from the eminently respectable BBC iPlayer. The problem is continual buffering so the video plays in short bursts, which destroys the impact. Sometimes the buffer counts down which is equally odd. It does not seem to affect YouTube though. Is this a problem for my ISP, which is AOL? Suggestions welcome.

I'm connected to high speed dsl and all was fine yesterday. the system is free of malware and everything checks out ok. I did have a problem yesterday. when I navigated to a web site that I use all the time all of a sudden I got a stack overflow error message which replicated itself until IE crashed. first ime I ever saw that error message and I haven't seen it since then. could I possibly have a memory ram stick that is acting up and should be replaced? thanks

ok, so far i've only noticed this to happen with .asf files, and i have no idea why it's happening. when i open the .asf files, windows media player pops up and then starts buffering, which is normal. but then after it buffers some, it will start to play the files but i can only hear it. there is no video whatsoever; just a black screen. i've tried downloading codec packages, opening it with other players, upgrading my windows media player, and some other stuff. i think my player just can't recognize that file format for some reason because i have streamed other VoD files before that had the extension .asx i think it was. if anyone has had this happen and knows wtf is going on, or if anyone just has any ideas that might help, plz help.

I am trying to stream video from music.yahoo.com and other sites with embedded video. Media Player just locks up or says "Buffering" or "Connecting" forever. It works fine on any other computer in my house just not mine. I am using media player 10, I also tried installing 9 and had the exact same problem. I don't know if it is a Codec problem or what. I can't figure it out. It has nothing to do with my firewall since the other computers that work fine are on the same firewall. Even reformatting does nothing! Is there a substitute for Media Player that I can use? If I download the file first then play it, then it works fine, I just can't stream direct.

Hi @AKKIP, Welcome to the HP Forums! I read your post and wanted to reach out to help you! In your post, you had said that currently your HP Pavilion 14-b003tx Ultrabook is having sound issues.  You could try: 1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.2. Click Playback Devices.3. Click Speakers.4. Click properties.5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.7. Apply the properties.8. Click OK to close the properties window. Restart the Notebook and test the sound. Here is a link to help troubleshoot the sound. Please let me know how this goes. To simply say thanks, click the Thumbs up below!  Thanks.

I have a client with a Q-See DVR that they would like to access remotely. The web interface works fine internally (192.168.x.x). I opened up port 80 and 2000, and setup dynamic dns for them. I can connect to the web interface remotely, but none of the video shows up. Any ideas?

Answer:Q-See DVR Video Streaming Problem

Maybe a browser issue? I have a client with a different vendor's DVR, but we can only view the video in Internet Explorer. It installs an ActiveX component, which then makes everything work. Firefox, Safari, Opera - none of them work.

My system specs are below. I use XP home SP1 everything updated execpt SP2, including video and audio codecs. My browser is MSN premium and I use to be able to use MSN priemium to stream online video via mediaplayer on my last comp with XP home. Now when I left click it gives me three options: open file (which fully downloads in to a temp folder), save file, and download file later. There is no stream option.

How do I set left click to automatically stream with media player the video or even the audio link?

I consider myself to be quite good with networking, but I have stumbled across a problem which is starting to bother me. Basically what is happening is when I play any kind of video stream from any given site on the net, my internet connection drops and the only way to revive it is a power cycle of the router. I haven't had this problem until recently (past few months) and I have owned this current router (Linksys Wireless B router) for 3-4 years. I've gone over all of my router settings and everything is set properly. I thought to myself perhaps my router was blocking that video stream via a port block on my router. But this can't be since I even tried opening every well known port on my router (0-50k) for a few minutes to see if that would work but to no avail. Therefore I believe it could an actual router hardware issue. The conclusion I've come to is that I think the router's buffer is recieving the video stream packets in the router's buffer but cannot handle the flow and is discarding them, which in the process locks up my router and thus requiring a power cycle. I think it may be time to buy a new router! What do you guys think?

Answer:Odd video streaming problem...

Put a hub on the outside of the router and sniff the traffic. You might see something in there.

Hello everyone,

I've got a problem with trying to watch streaming videos, they run for a couple of seconds and then stop as they try to buffer.

The thing is, everything was running fine up until a couple of days ago and then this buffering problem happened. I recently did a fresh install of everything, running XP with service pack 3 and the newest version of Firefox. I'm pretty sure my flash player is also up to date. Is anybody else having this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been having the same problem for a while now. When I try to watch a video online, I can only load a small portion of it at a time. The progress bar will only move part of the way (usually only a minute or two out of a 30 minute video) and then completely stop. I've tried waiting for several hours to see if it's just slow, but it just stops.

It's not a matter of a slow connection--mine is very fast.
This happens both in IE and Firefox. I have cleared my cache and reinstalled Flash Player, but that didn't help either.

Any ideas???

I am having issues with streaming video from my PC to my TV by means of an HDMI cord. It used to be very simple: I would plug in the HDMI cord to both the PC and TV, change the settings on the T.V. to "HDMI", and on the PC press the "windows key + P" to change the settings to "duplicate" or "extend". I tried clearing everything up with my Norton services, but I can't find any issues.
Now the streaming won't work and I am not sure why. If I create another account on the computer it sometimes works but after enough times of streaming video, that stops working as well. The last time I tried the visual part worked, however I couldn't transfer the sound to the T.V. even when I tried adjusting all the settings. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I have a Dell SC600 tower computer, several years old. It has a P4 with 2.66 GB speed. I have 2 GB ram, 7200 rpm hard drives and an Internet Connection that varies between 2 and 5 MB. I'm guaranteed 2 MB...but most of the time if I check it, it's a lot faster.

This particular problem has started since I installed Windows 7...I never had it in XP. When I installed Windows 7, I didn't have the problem, it seem to have started recently. It could have started when I replaced RC with the Release version.

When I try to play a Video...regardless of the source, it plays for a few seconds, then stops, then plays for a few seconds, then stops, and never just plays. The Video buffer never fills up...it just stays at the current location. \

I don't mind waiting till the buffer reaches 100% and then start playing the video...but no matter how long I wait, the buffer indicator doesn't move.

Any ideas?

Hi there :)

I'm running into an odd problem. It started a couple days ago for reasons unknown. If I try to play an embedded video, such as this, the video will begin to play in media player as normal, but a download progress window will also open. This didn't use to happen, but here's the really weird part- if I cancel the download progress window, everything is fine; if I let it go the video will either restart, or stop playing all together along with an error message stating that the file cannot be found.

I tried clearing my TIFs, relocating my TIF folder, checked and rechecked every setting I can see, and everything looks fine. It's kind of baffling =[

Any ideas?
