Preferred Solution: gmail emails duplicated in Windows Live Mail Inbox.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: gmail emails duplicated in Windows Live Mail Inbox.

Try this -
When in the live mail program as you look at the folders under your email account you will see an inbox on top. Under the inbox is a folder named Gmail, this folder expands to show "all mail" which is all emails in your box under one folder. Live mail when showing "unread emails" displays the inbox and the "all mail" folder at the same time. This creates the duplicates shown in the unread messages tab. To fix this click on the gmail folder and right click on the "all mail" folder and select Hide this folder.

I have 2 email accounts, both brought into Windows live mail via POP3. One is working normally, the other - which comes via the UK provider 'TalkTalk' has started to duplicate emails in a big way. So each time mail comes in, I'm getting not only the new ones but also literally hundreds of duplicated old emails going back 2 yrs or more and including stuff I had already deleted. Then yesterday after mail had stopped coming into my Inbox I noticed that I was still receiving mail so I checked the pop up box to find that mail was still coming in at warp speed, had reached 12,000 and was still going strong. But as these weren't going into my Inbox, where exactly are they and how can I stop them coming? I've closed down Live mail because until I have a solution I don't want thousands more unwanted emails. It's been suggested that the fault could lie with POP3 and I should change to IMAP. But if that's the case why is the 2nd email account which also uses POP3 still running fine? Any help would be really appreciated as this is a bit of a nightmare ...

When I delete an email received in my Win 10 Mail App inbox, the same email is also deleted in my Gmail inbox, automatically. I would like to prevent this. Emails deleted from my Mail App should be left behind in my Gmail inbox. Could I prevent this deletion from happening by changing an IMAP Access setting in my Gmail settings?

I attach two pictures. In the one, you can see how my Win 10 Mail App was configured by Windows when I added my Gmail account. In the other picture, you can see what I consider changing in my IMAP settings at GMail. I have no idea if this will help and whether I should make this change. I am fairly computer-illiterate.

Could somebody advise me please?

I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit OS. I've added my email account into WLM (using IMAP settings). I made several folders and transferred a lot of saved emails into different folders. After finishing, I clicked on the Inbox folder, and received the following error:

There are no items in this view. Some items may be hidden because a view is applied.

I know there were over 25 emails sitting in the Inbox, but now I can't see them. I've tried changing settings in the View drop down menu, but nothing is bring back the emails.

When I access by email via webmail, I can see all the emails that are in my Inbox.

SO what should the settings be to bring back my Inbox emails?

I am running windows7 home premium and using live mail , about 2+ weeks ago a few incoming messages are now stuck in the inbox some I have opened and some unread. When I try to delete and or move any of these emails to another folder and or delete I get an error box shows with a message that" an error occurred and cannot open -please try again later" Does anyone have a clue how to remedy this problem? Thanks for any and all responses,

Answer:Solved: Emails stuck in inbox windows 7 live mail

A little drastic but effective and practical if you don't have a large amount of old mail. Just delete that account from WLM and then add it right back.

My ISP, Shentel, now uses Google mail as email servers. I run a business and in the past have been able to send bulk type emails, broken down into groups of 80 or less recipients (per my ISP instructions) and had no issues. I have about 10-12 of these groups of 80 or less recipients and I send each group seperately throughout the day. In otherwords, I don't send all 10-12 groups at once.

I only send these group emails 2 - 4 times a year, so I'm not sending 10 ga-billion emails.

Recenlty (say in the last 6 months), I send out these bulk emails and the emails are not delivered. They are not stuck in the Outbox and they show as being Sent. I have contacted some of the recipients individually and they indicated they did not receive the group emails, but do receive individual emails.

I contacted my ISP and they just walked me through my Windows Live Mail settings, but he was not able to offer any other help.

Any help appreciated.

Robert

Answer:Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

It sounds like there's a syncing issue between Windows Live and Gmail.

Are you able to get to the Gmail admin page for your email account via a web browser? From there, make sure it's configure to use IMAP.

You may also want to try another email client, like Outlook or Thunderbird.

gmail is set-up and sends and receives emails on its website. I then set it up on Windows 10 running Windows Live Mail. However, although gmail on the computer can send emails ok, it refuses to receive them. error
message comes up as follows- Windows Server Error (imap.gmail.com), portal POP3, port 993, secure SSL Yes.
Windows Live Mail Error ID O x 800 CCC 90. I can still send emails through the website, it is Windows Live
Mail which will not send emails. All other email addresses I have send and receive emails through Windows
Live Mail so the problem seems to be with the gmail address, any help how to solve this, have looked at UTube
and various blogs but haven't found a solution.

So this just started today (like an hour ago). When I get an email in Gmail it shows in my Inbox. If I open it to read it, and then close it, it still shows in my Inbox, but if I refresh then it disappears. Only unread emails show. If I check All Mail it shows the read emails, and shows the tag "Inbox", so they are still there, but just not visible. If I check them as unread in the All Mail view they show again in Inbox, but again, once read, they disappear. It's happening in both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else having this issue?

OK this is strange. I opened WLM this morning and all was fine, my emails downloaded and I could see my inbox. All of a sudden though my inbox went away and the inbox window only shows the last email in my inbox...when I click on any of my folders, no list of emails appear and instead the last email in the folder shows on the screen...I went to View --> Show --> All Messages and that is properly selected but I can't see my list of emails in my inbox or any folder anymore.

This seems like a bug? I definitely didn't select any menu item, just open the program up this morning, all was fine, but then this occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

I had accidentally dragged the preview pane to the top of the window. Sorry.

Are you accessing this account on multiple devices? Are you POPing or going in through the web interface? Do you have any sort of rules enabled? Are you using a third party mail client? Did anything change or did you manipulate any settings around the time the problem started?

I have got all my emails from my mail-server's Inbox in to the Thunderbird's Inbox and my Mail-server's Inbox is empty now. Probably, I might have CHECKED "use Global Inbox" (store mail in local folders) during selecting the type of server (usually POP for commercial accounts), and type in the name of the incoming server.

I would like to ask you two questions:
1. How should I modify and UNCHECK "Use Global Inbox" in the Thunderbird so that all my mail-server's emails do not imported to Thunderbird?
2. How could I get back my all emails from Thunderbird Inbox to my Mail-server Inbox?

Please kindly help...

Answer:How to prevent importing emails from my mail-server Inbox to Thunderbird Inbox

Dont' think you can get them back on your ISP's mail server. All pop3 based email clients that I have seen have an option to "Leave mail on server" Outlook Express and Eudora both have this feature. I can't believe Mozilla would have forgotten to add that feature.

A long time back, all my emails started going into my allmail box instead of my inbox.
Most of the time, that doesn;t bother me. But there are times, when i lose focus on the allmail.
Then I have to try and remember the shortcut to get back to allmail, or to go the sibebar, where Inbox is on top and below that "important" and so on. But to get to allmail, you have to go down to more, and find AllMail as a submenu in that. It might even be necessary to make the browser page smaller, so you can see the More menu.
So is it possible to either (a) get messages to go into inbox, or to bring Allmail up to the top of the sidebar, where Inbox is located.
The second one would be my first choice, as that's where my most of all my emails are ie in allmail.
But if i can only do the first thing ie get messages to appear in my inbox, is there a way to move all mails in my allmail box to my inbox?

update. Okay, after all these years, i have found out that all mail refers to archived mail.
So if all my mail is going into archived mail, does that mean that at one stage, i chose to have all my mail be archived. Perhaps I hit something invaderntly.
I came upon this, because I had another question about Archived mail. I was wondering if I was looking at mail, in all mail, and ticked a post, and chose to archive it, and then deleted it, was it still in the archive. But as I am in the archive (all mail) I am deleting it from the archive, or am I.

Answer:how do i get all my new emails in gmail to go to my inbox?

all mail refers to archived mailClick to expand...

No, All Mail is exactly what it says. Mail in every location: Inbox, any folders you created, archived emails, trash and spam.
There is a label in front of the subject line telling you where that particular email is located.
When you delete from the archive it moves to trash. You will see it in All Mail with Trash in front of the subject.
You can also see it if you open Trash.

Go to settings: (gear icon) then click on labels. If you cahnge All Mail from Hide to Show it will appear at the top rather than having to click the arrow aside of More.

Answer:windows live mail inbox

I don't think that you can do what you want in Windows Live, I am pretty sure that I have read in other forums that others have switched to a different email client such as Thunderbird which I understand allows you to always open with the inbox. Outlook allows this setting but not Windows Live as far as I know.

Sync does not fix this.

All other folders, calendar etc. are correct.

Answer:Windows Live Mail - Inbox Does Not Sync

Have you made sure that all the settings are correct in your Hotmail account in Windows Live Mail. If you go online to Hotmail do you have new messages there, if you do it means you haven't set the account details properly in Windows Live Mail which will allow you to download new messages.

Since reinstalling Windows 7 Live Mail on new laptop email messages are getting duplicated. The one with the correct 'from' and 'to' names has 'Message cannot be found' and 'The contents of this message cannot be found' in the message box. The one with the correct message has the senders name and email address in both the 'from' and 'to' boxes. Any ideas?

A few days ago I noticed that when using Live Mail I have two identical accounts listed in the left pane, but one has (1) by it they are both my email address. There is mail under both headings, althogh new mail seems to enter in just one. I then found that my friend has the same thing. Is this something I/we have done or is there a fault at Microsoft? Thanks for any ideas, Dave

I use the new Windows Live Mail client to access two IMAP accounts, Gmail and one provided by my University. Gmail works such that whenever you send an email through it, it automatically puts a copy in the Sent Mail folder. So if the WLM client tries to put a copy there as well, you end up with two copies of the email in the Sent Mail folder. The University IMAP account doesn't work like this. A copy will only appear in the Sent Mail folder for that account if the client program puts a copy there.

So the problem is the way WLM handles this. Most IMAP settings are specific to the account. You right click on an account, go to settings, and then go to the IMAP section and specify the folders and stuff like that. However, the option of whether or not WLM puts a copy of an email you send in the Sent Mail folder can only be set for the entire client.

In Tools->Options->Send is the checkbox for this option. If it's checked, I get a single copy of sent mail in the University account and two copies in Gmail. If it is unchecked I get no copies for the University account and just one for Gmail.

Does anyone know a way to fix this?

edit: Oh, and a side question, is it possible to make WLM stop showing the number of unread emails in the trash or spam? They're in there because I have no intention of reading them. I don't care how many are unread.

Hello There! This one is really an SOS. Please help me! Suddenly, all my messages from within the Inbox have disappeared.Iam using Windows Live Mail-XP edition. My MSN account has been configured to it. "Sent" items are intact.Today, when I first opened the WLM, it even prompted 1 New message!..but, Inbox is still empty!??Junk folder do not contains any message.Under "View" Menu, nothing seem significant, related to this issue! Any ideas??

Answer:No Messages showing up under my Inbox within Windows Live Mail!?

So, you have an MSN email account that's been set up in WLM, right?  Is it set up as a POP account in WLM?  Do you have it set to leave messages on the server?  Any other accounts in WLM?  Have you recently changed any settings in WLM?  Have you recently made any software changes to your computer, such as antivirus or anti-spyware programs? Can you access your MSN email online, i.e. via web browser?  If so, do you see any messages are there?

Greetings. I have a Lenovo Y530 laptop running Vista Home Edition. My Windows Live Mail was hacked. Initially, I was not able to send or receive messages. This past Monday, I opened the program and my inbox is being flooded nonstop with messages. I can't see any of the messages, just the numerical count keeps increasing.

I have changed my password and security settings, but the problem continues. I'm sure this is a common problem but I haven't been able to find a solution online. Any detailed advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

p.s. I am not using Hotmail. My ISP is AT&T and my AT&T webmail is running fine.

Hello,
3 days ago my windows live email acct went haywire. It opens up automatically as one of my saved tabs when I click Google to go on internet. This time the page looked very different, all pink and today it is now blue after I did a system restore. Only had one restore point which was back in Aug 2014. I think it successfully was restored. I am not a computer whiz for sure.

So I could not open any folders or my inbox. Was able to click on the help button but everything else acted like it was in a simple document and I had not also clicked the control key to go to the link.

I have copied and pasted the actual page and hope to attach it to this message. I deleted all of my personal stuff such as folder names, number of emails in inbox and so on. I have windows 7 and my laptop is about 5 years old It has been causing me several issues recently and would like to get a new laptop but am not counting on that.

I have 7 email accounts available with Comcast and have had two of them set up with Windows Live Mail on my new Windows 7 system.

Been lovin' it. However, when I recently set up several more of my Comcast accounts (setting them up identically to the others), mail sent to them does not show up in their individual inbox folders. In fact, for those, incoming mail does not even show up in the "All Inbox" in "Quick Views". The only indication I have of incoming mail to any of these recently set up email accounts is that they do appear in the "All e-mail" folder of "Quick Views".

Again, these latter accounts are set up IDENTICALLY as the previous two that work properly.

I primarily use Windows Mail for my work at home job. I also have a Gmail account so I can check for e-mails on my iphone when I'm out. I want to have it set up so that the emails show up in both places, Windows Mail and Gmail.

Currently if my desktop computer is turned off and my Windows Mail program is not open, the incoming emails only go to Gmail and not Windows mail. OR, if my computer is up and running but the Windows mail doesn't happen to be open, the emails only go to Gmail and not Windows Mail. Seems like if my browser (IE8) is open but windows mail is not open, emails will only go to Gmail.

Do I have some settings wrong which would make the emails not show up in Windows Mail?

I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

I'm using Windows7 & Windows Live Mail version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.0726).

I hear the chime that new mail has arrived & see the number of unread messages increase, but the messages themselves are not shown. I have to click on another box (junk, drafts, sent, etc) and then click back on Inbox to see the messages. This happens when I 1st open Windows Live Mail (inbox) & also if I've left it open while I do something else (internet, word, excel, etc). Previously, new messages appeared immediately, when they were received.

Actually, this might also happen with junk (spam), but I almost always leave Live Mail "sitting" in the inbox.

How do I get new messages to appear immediately, when they were received?

If you're using IMAP it can happen when there's a communication issue with your eMail provider.

Have you tried manually rebuilding the account with a POP/SMTP configuration and seeing if the problem happens then?

Is there any way of restoring the Inbox WITHOUT reinstalling ... which apparently would involve losing all existing messages permanently ?

Hi,
For some time I face a strange situation in my WLM client. In Inbox folder the old emails dissapear, only emails from last five or ten days remaining availabe.
On the IMAP server the emails are not deleted.
If I delete the email account on WLC and recreate it all mails are syncronized and appear in Inbox. After a while the problem repeat - old emails dissapear, only last few days emails remaining available.
The problem appear only on Inbox folder and only on WLM. Sent folder is OK.
On Thunderbird i don't have any problem, Inbox folder is corectly synchronized.

If anybody have an idea about what could happened in WLM, plese reply!

thx

I've just set up a new imap email account in live mail. the folders were created on another computer using outlook, however do not appear on the webmail. Once the account was set up all of the folders synced ok, except that the "all" or "inbox" does not appear --meaning that all unread mail remains on the webmail, but does not download onto this computer -- only the mail that has been moved into the folders.

When I click on the account name in the left column the screen remains blank -- for other accounts this is where the inbox appears with unread mail, or it says "there are no items in this view".

I have tried closing and reopening Live mail, but nothing changed.

Can anyone tell me why it is not downloading the "inbox" folder....please

The divisions you refer to are called inbox tabs. You can disable them easily. Log into Gmail from a web browser (I recommend the latest version of Chrome or Firefox). I know you've already tried turning them off by going to Settings > Inbox and unchecked them. Did you actually save the changes? If you did, the settings apply instantly. Alternatively, click Settings > Configure inbox and unselect all tabs except primary (inactive) then click Save. Your inbox should instantly reflect the changes. If nothing happens after clicking save, you may be using a script-blocking add-on or extension that's breaking Gmail's functionality.

Hi, My name is Fran. I've had something strange going on for a while (a month?) and I thought I'd give this a shot to figure out what the problem is. As I said in the Topic title, I have blank Outlook 2003 emails that keep showing up in my Inbox/Sent Mail/Deleted Mail Folders for my hotmail account in Outlook 2003. They all are the same size, but have various times. I contacted Microsoft, and they suggested that I reset my passwordsand security questions for all of my email accounts. I did this, but the problem has continued in my Hotmail account in Outlook 2003. This has made me suspect that I have something on my computer that picked up the new password. I fear that someone or something is hijacking my computer and want to put a stop to it. I read something today about HijackThis and decided to give it a try. I installed the software and ran a scan generating a log file. It then instructed me to use one of the forums for assistance in a list on their website in which you were at the top--so here I am.I attached the log for the scan from Hijackthis (I HAD TWO FILES AND WAS UNSURE WHICH YOU SHOULD GET, SO I UPLOADED BOTH--I RAN TWO SCANS WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER, BUT AM UNSURE IF THESE LOGS ARE FOR EACH OR JUST ONE SCAN). And, when I looked at the scans' logs, it was all Greek to me. Of course, if there is any other info you need, please just let me know. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.B... Read more

Hi,

I am in the process of switching my internet service from Bell Dial Up to the Bell Turbo Hub. This new hub will allow me to receive high speed service in an area that is not currently offering high speed at speeds up to 7MB/S.
The problem is that I will have to change my email address when I cancel the dial up service. This means that I will need to set up a new email address in Hotmail or Gmail. I chose Gmail and have just set up a new account.

I also use Windows Live One mail as a resident client due to fact that I have many committees that I belong to and have a great deal of folders with correspondence I must keep. I have two questions;

1. Once I cancel my Bell Dial Up service will all of the emails filed in my folders in WLM be retained. I would think so because they are now on my hard Drive but I would appreciate some confirmation?

2. Can I set up Gmail in WLM to allow for continued filing of incoming emails to their respective folders? If so how do I do that?

Your help on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

As long as you don't delete the account from WLM and as long as WLM doesn't have some kind of serious problem and as long as a disk failure doesn't wipe them out. You do have at least one backup copy, right?

I'm using Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9, and Windows Live Mail via my Comcast.net e-mail server. I wish to continue to use WLM, but when my son visited several months ago, he installed Mozilla Firefox because that's the ISP he uses. He also installed his Gmail account and gave me a Gmail account as well (I never asked for it).

Fast forward: Until about a week ago, I never had any problems with my WLM, but I've recently noticed that I'm not receiving all my e-mails through WLM. I noticed this because I recently got an iPad 2 (e-mail is also set up for my Comcast account) and it was showing e-mails that were not showing up in WLM. This is also happening in reverse, i.e., e-mails appearing in WLM are not all showing up on my iPad.

So, I jumped over to Gmail and it was loaded with ALL my e-mails, past and current. Also, my Google calendar which I rely upon and which has always worked in Internet Explorer, is no longer loading and is in a redirect loop. However, if I go over to Firefox, Google calendar loads just fine and I can also load Google calendar on my iPad. When I tried to add my Comcast account to Gmail, it said it already exists.

I don't like the intrusions by Google and from all I've heard, they're not only famous for causing conflicts with other ISP's and e-mail programs, but they're also introducing upgrades to their system which makes intrusions even worse.

I'm assuming you are using WLM if so try this
In WLM go to tools then accounts click your WLM default account then properties then advanced in the window that appears and you should have this, check or uncheck leave mail on server then send yourself an Email and see if it works I hope this helps and works for you.

Is there a simple way to go about viewing his attachments without reconfiguring mail accounts, or saving to this file or that file or switching back and forth between WLM and gmail?

Thanks.

Hi pageyboy, it should be possible from 'settings'. As you have a Live Mail address, it would have been easier using W Live mail (signed in) then access Gmail with it using POP3.

Now I can't get it to send or receive emails in Live Mail, please can anyone help? My OS is windows 7 and I have 4 accounts in my windows live mail set up, one being the main ISP of Orange.
This is really frustrating so appreciate any advice to help resolve the problem.

This is a long shot but I wonder if Windows Live Mail thinks that you are offline. I take it that IE works ok.
I would suspect a change of Orange France settings but you have 4 accounts. On the safe side checkk each setting again.

After setting up my Gmail account, I import the folders and all of the sudden I get a message saying "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your user name and password are correct." I typed in the right username and password and clicked okay and repeats the message again. I know that for Gmail that you have to have IMAP enabled in which I have. I've looked up how to's, but they seem to be for different versions of Gmail and/or Live Mail.

Anyone knows how?

When I send an email from my Windows Live Mail, and have contracted words like it's, don't and so on, and quotation marks and other characters, the received email contains other characters I did not type. For example when I type it's, the receiver reads it as it?s When I type something with quotations like "hi how are you?", the receiver reads it like this ?hi, how are you??

How can I correct this? It's very annoying, to say the least!

Answer:How do I fix Windows Live Mail emails?

Check the character encoding option in WLM and see what you are using. It's probably something your receivers aren't using, which will cause those odd characters to be inserted in the emails.

I can normally drag and drop emails from my Inbox into folders or use the move menu option. There are however emails from 2 separate senders that cannot be moved and when I try I get the message.." An unknown error has occurred. The selected message(s) cannot be moved. An error has occurred".Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a solution ? There is nothing odd about the emails. it could be that they have been locked on the remote server - nothing you can do about that. You will have to highlight the text - control C to copy it then open your word processor and control V to paste it.

I've got a TalkTalk account, Windows 7 and I use Windows Live Mail. Even though it's a TT account, I have a Tiscali email address as when TT swallowed up Tiscali we kept our original Tiscali addresses. I've changed the port setting from 25 to 587 but this made no difference. My computer has been returned to me after a crash which required Windows 7 being reinstalled. Most of my data was recovered, but not my emails apparently. However, I can see a new folder on the hard drive which looks like it relates to Live Mail and which looks like it was recovered too (it's not in my usual user folder and it's dated the day of the crash/recovery), it is called AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsMail and contains all the files that I'd expect to see (ie it looks a lot like the folder of the same name which is under my user name). Could this contain all my old emails and if so, how do I access them? I've tried copying the files to the folder under my user name and I've tried asking Live Mail to import messages, but it couldn't see any.

I've lost four years worth of emails and all my up to date contacts, I'd really like to recover them.

What restore did you use. There are 3. The one that will definately work is system image. Hopefully, you have kept it up to date. If that does not work try backup and restore. I doubt if system restore will work in this scenario.

I have been successfully using a program called Hard Drive Powerwash but after using it a couple of days ago I found all my folders in Windows Live Mail are empty !! The Powerwash program moves unwanted stuff to the Recycle Bin so I looked there and no emails. I have saved copies of most emails but WLM claims there are no emails in those folders - HELP please !!

Answer:Emails vanished from Windows Live Mail

I had a little hiccup with my older laptop running on Windows 7. My email program, Window Live Mail (2012) has decided to lose (or hide??) most of my emails and sub-folders. Help! Microsoft no longer supports this outdated program and can't help me. Any help in how I can try and restore these "saved" emails.

I plan to purchase replacement laptop with the upcoming holiday special deals and don't know if by downloading MS Outlook now on the old laptop this will allow for easy capture of the "lost" emails and then easy transfer to the new computer.

Thanks for your help

Hi All
Loaded Windows Essentials onto the new computer with Win Pro 64 bit OS.
When in Windows Live mail I receive emails ok but when i click email message, reply, forward, etc,, i get an immediate message "a problem occured when trying to open this message A Problem has occured Pls try again". Thinking the install may be corrupted, there doesn't seem to be any way to uninstall (to reinstall) WLM or repair the programme
Any help would be appreciated

Have a problem with Windows Mail Live

My email address recently changed due to me changing ISPs
for some reason, when I changed the information, I lost all my previous emails and started from scratch again

I understand with WML, if I create the exact same name account, that I previously had setup, all my emails would restore itself.
Problem is: I have no idea what the exact name of the account was.

Is there a way of finding out what it was ?
or
does someone know of an alternate way of recovering those lost emails.

Thanks

It was working fine, had Live Mail 2011, and worded just fine....but then noticed I wasn't getting any new mail from my hotmail account like I used to. In fact, this error happened, where it said I had X number of new mail, and when I went to look, was only a few, but couldn't read or delete them, and there was gaps, like missing emails. I had tried adding Gmail to Live Mail, and then it started to download emails exceeding 15K, and will take forever, just to show hardly any new emails, if any, despite it saying it received 15K+ emails.

I tried repairing, uninstalling, reinstalling 2012 edition of Live Essentials. I even deleted the files in the Live mail folder on the hard drive after uninstalling it....but adding my hotmail account.....well, it won't retrieve new email (My gmail used to be picked up along with the hotmail as it's attached to it), and adding gmail results in over 15K downloads.

I don't know if it's settings...I never touched them, and it all used to work for years with no problem....this this one glitch happened that seems to cause all this grief for me.

I do have Windows 7, and not sure all the stats of my computer....just hope someone can help.

These Microsoft threads have some suggestions. Apparently this isn't an isolated problem. See the suggested fix from "Noel" in second link.

Ok, so my computer crashed and I need to see if I can recover my emails from the hard drive. Windows cannot read the drive but Linux does. I need some help finding where the emails would be stored so I can try to save them to an external hard drive before reformatting. If anyone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated as they contain information that I really need. They were not backed up on a server so retrieving from this hard drive is my only chance.

Thanks!
KJ

Answer:Recover Windows Live Mail Emails

Assuming your operating system is Vista or newer, you should find everything in

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
Mail.MSMessageStore is the main mail db file, but to be safe I'd backup the entire WLM directory.

I have been trying for ages to stop my Samsung Laptop (running Win7 with 6 gig RAM) from going through periods of running at a total crawl. At first it seemed to be the Print Spooler, then AVAST, and for a day it's been running at lightening speed as per normal. But now it's slowed again. 3 min to load Word, 4 mins for Excel, and 4 mins to load PCA's website!
It seems that finding the problem is beyond me so I want to start again with a 'back to new' reset. The only thing stopping me is my emails. They are on the comp in Windows Live Mail, and if I wipe the drive I will lose them. All other files/folders are backed up externally.
Is there any way I can copy them off the comp and put them back later after I put WLM back on?

Answer:Cannot send emails n Windows Live Mail

Have you spoken to your ISP about this problem?
It seems to indicate that the destination you are trying to send email to has blocked anything incoming from your IP or your ISP for some reason.

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to bounce emails back to a sender so that it registers on their compute that the message has not been received? I don't mean junk mail or spam which waits for me to delete it. I want to stop it from accesing my computer altogether.

Thanks,
CeeBee52

Answer:Windows Live Mail - how to bounce emails

You can add the sender to your blocked sender list (right click on the sender's address - add to blocked sender

or you can create a rule
Select one or more conditions:
| | Where the from line contains people

Select one or more options
| | Do not download it from the server
| | Delete from Server

Neither of these sends anything back to the sender. why would you want to do that anyway?

Do you highlight the text to be copied first? If you do and it doesn't work try using the Ctrl + C buttons at the same time.

I have previously used the export emails wizard in windows live mail to back up emails onto an external hard drive. I tried to do this again and all it exports are some of the folders and one or two random emails. Can anyone help?

Answer:exporting emails from windows live mail

Hello crb250,

I find that it works best when you export into a "New Folder" on your desktop first, then move the "New Folder" to the external hard drive.

Hope this helps,
