AGP card won't announce itself

Question: AGP card won't announce itself

Putting new mobo into existing PC, had to buy a AGP graphics card (the other mobo had onboard graphics).Inserted graphics card and powered up PC, but the card doesn't "sign-on", and the monitor reverts to power-saving mode, as though it is getting no signal. The mobo is an ECS K7S5A, and is known to be in working order (had it in my PC until recently), and the new graphics card is an Radeon 9250, which is an 8x AGP. The Mobo doesn't have on-board graphics, so the BIOS should be set correctly to use the AGP slot. The Mobo only supports 4x AGP, but AGp bus speeds are always backwards compatable (so I have read).Any idea what could be the problem

Preferred Solution: AGP card won't announce itself

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: AGP card won't announce itself

I think the mobo only supports 4 also Volts may differ

OpenX Technologies Inc. (OpenX), the world?s leading independent ad server for Web publishers, today announced it has entered into a partnership with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) that will allow the companies to cross-market and promote products to their respective publisher bases. Under terms of the multiyear agreement, OpenX becomes a preferred partner to publishers for enterprise ad serving solutions. In addition, OpenX will promote Microsoft?s Content Ads monetization products ? as well as other products that may be developed in the future ? to its existing base of Web publisher customers.
OpenX and Microsoft will each enjoy significant benefits from the partnership. Most notably, Microsoft will have a major distribution channel for its monetization products through OpenX?s community of more than 150,000 Web sites that serve more than 300 billion ads per month. OpenX will, in turn, gain access to a new base of potential customers ? via referrals from Microsoft ? for its enterprise advertising technology and services.
The Content Ads component of the agreement follows a successful trial Microsoft and OpenX began in August 2008, during which OpenX provided invitations to its publishers to test the product. Content Ads matches ads to relevant editorial content, allowing advertisers to increase campaign effectiveness, which can allow publishers to achieve a higher yield on certain types of inventory. As part of the agreement, OpenX will promote Content Ads in two ways.... Read more

According to the latest update Google have launched a new capability in AdSense allowing Google-certified ad networks compete directly within AdSense, which means that advertisers from these third-party networks will be able to compete with AdWords advertisers to show on the Google Content Network.
These new capabilities will automatically be enabled to the Adsense user accounts and a new section is added in Ad Review Center where a user can allow or block specific ad networks or all networks except AdWords.
To ensure the quality of the ads that appear on AdSense publisher websites, Google will certify all participating ad networks for adherence to our standards for user privacy, ad quality, and speed. Some participating ad networks use targeting methods similar to Google’s interest-based advertising to show more relevant ads to users on the sites they visit. These ad networks won’t be permitted to collect data from your site for the purpose of subsequent interest-based advertising, but we’ll allow networks that comply with user privacy guidelines to show ads using these tools. Publishers can opt out of user interest targeting from these ad networks, and Google has changed our requirements for third-party ad serving to reflect this.
Google is currently only accepting ads from Google-certified ad networks in North America and Europe, but this feature will be soon available to ad networks in additional parts of the world.

Answer:AVG Resident Shield popped up on my PC to announce it had detected a "Multiple Threat

Hello and Welcome.

A Reminder....

As seen in Post #2 of our sticky topic 'NEW INSTRUCTIONS Read this Before Posting For Malware Removal Help'

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

As stated by the author of ComboFix:

ComboFix is a very powerful tool which when improperly used may render your machine to a doorstop.

We first need to verify if there's any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools. DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Answer:Satellite P200D-12z - Card Reader driver needed - SD card slot issue

Did you install a generic version of Windows? You need to install the AMD chipset driver first, so other PCI devices can install properly.

What is the size capacity of the SD Card?
Are you running XP? You may need to install Service Pack 3, or a Microsoft hotfix for SDHC support.

Hello to everyone.

I have searched through the forum and have found numerous threads addressing the whole "video card question". However, none of them really seemed to target the real issue of which card was a better value. I just hope this thread can be real and filled with actual fact & evidence, not supportive fanatics defending their card to their last dying breath. Please post with evidence and read all or a majority of the post before replying. Positive feedback is appreciated.

I am looking to build a new computer, and as you could have guessed, the GPU is a very large component in the computer, pricewise and performance wise. This is why I have decided to lay a fairly steep budget on the graphics card, but somehow, I can't arrive at a decision.

Obviously I have targeted the x850 XT and 6800 Ultra. I was even suggested to consider the 6800 GT because of its price and get an SLI board to buy another 6800 GT when the price drops. The 6800GT SLI combination seemed to be the most attractive option, but I am in search of getting a lot of performance very soon.

x850 XT or 6800 Ultra?
So far, I am really veering towards the x850 XT because of its pure golden performance, even though it does not have a very steep advantage over the 6800 Ultra. The x850 XT and 6800 Ultra have around the same price, but based upon online reviews (anandtech, guru3d, pcstats), the x850 XT takes the performance edge even though slightly. Despite its higher grunt, the 680... Read more

Answer:Video Card Dilemma (need a very high performance card: 6800 gt-sli/ultra? x850 xt?)

I think you should get a single 6800GT right now. They can easily be OC'ed to Ultra speeds and above. The XFX SLI'ED 6800GT's currently hold the 3dmark03 record.

Once you buy a single 6800GT, you can save up some money. In a few months you can get another 6800GT or get a new card as your 6800GT in 6 months would be complete crap possibly.

And the x850XT does take a lead on directx, but Nvidia closely trails. And on opengl, the 6800GT dominates.

Recently I noticed that my resolution was maxed at 1024*768 and i couldnt go any higher than that and in all of my frustration and attempts to figure out why this was occuring i managed to disable my graphics card and now upon startup, everything seems fine while the windows XP logo loading page is up then when the blue screen should appear and the desktop, all i get is a blank screen. It seems like the comp is startin properly, just that i have no graphics. Ive tried to go into safe mode but while it begins to load it then stops at agp440.sys which i then disabled in the recovery console but then it just stops at the previous process and so on.

Does anyone know how I can re-enable my graphics card or fix this problem about not being able to get into safe mode???

I cant find anywhere in BIOS where I can re-enable it... I've also taken out the mobo batt and reset CMOS settings but still no go!!!

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Hey all!  I've been looking to update the graphics card on my Dell XPS 8700 from a GTX 645 to a GTX 1050 Ti Nvidia graphics card.   Everything I looked at says it checks out:
-PCIE x16 card compatible with  PCI- Express x16 card slot
- 1.5 Width (Dual Slot Width) x 5.7 Length x 4.38 Height graphics card should fit in PC (original dimensions for the GTX 645 are 4.376 Height, 5.7 Length, Single Slot width).   Only problem I can see here is the width for the 1050 is dual slot while the original has a single slot width.  However, there should be enough space right?
- 75W power draw with a 460W PSU.   Here is another (unlikely) potential problem.  I have no idea how much power everything else is drawing so I don't know how much spare power I have.   However, seeing as the 645 has a max power draw of 65 W, I think I'm fine since that's only a 10 W difference
Does anybody see any problems with my logic/anything that I'm missing?  Thanks all and have a great day.

Answer:Upgrading Dell XPS 8700 with EVGA Geforce GTX 1050 Ti Sc Graphics Card Card

you MUST upgrade BIOS to A10 for Win7/81 or A11 for Win10 for GTX 9x0 or higher and all GTX 10x0 cards as well.
What software are you running? If gaming at 1920x1080 resolution a GTX 1060 is perhaps the "best' option for an XPS 8700. The 8700 will easily fit a dual width card and the 1060 is the right mix of lots of graphics card, but it doesn't need a ton of power to run it.
The motherboard provides up to 75W via the PCIe slot, and extra power comes from the two six pin PCIe power connectors if the card needs more power.
Some GTX 1060 cards need a single 8 pin connector and the solution is a very low cost adapter ( $ 8.00 on eBay)

Dear Forum I've byued brandnew a lenovo B560 - a quiet good priced Notebook. But now i am trying to connect to internet with my mobile Higspeed broadband SIM, and do not find a way to do that! The Notebook is equipped with a SIM-Card-Slot-In and throug this Slot i can see some golden conectors. But if i turn on the wireless-functionality with [Fn]+[F5] i just can see the WLAN-Card on/off switch. Even the installation of ReadyComm 5 did not solve my probs. On my Notebook is Win7 home premium with the normal standard-setup, no changes. Is there something I have not taken?I appreciate every help, thank you in advance! regards - sandy

Answer:Mobile-Broadband with Lenovo B560 / SIM-Card equipped / no reaction if SIM-Card pushed in

Hello mate, It's not because you have a sim card reader that you have a modem installed inside. If your laptop is wwan ready, it comes with the sim card reader and the antenna installed and that's it.If you can't see the wwan modem in the Fn+F5 menu it's most likely because you don't have a modem. Have a look there to see if you have a wwan modem or not :

I have a Twist S230u and just purchased a Transcend 64GB micro SDXC card (UHS-1 rated), which comes with an adapter to the SD interface that is compatible with the Twist's media card reader. Up to now, I have not tried to use any card larger than 32GB in the media card reader, and have never had a problem, whether using true SD cards or micro SD via adapters. But with the new card, I seem to be able to access only the first 32GB of memory. Once that limit is reached, files put on the card seem to go down the memory hole in a very strange way: As long as the card is active in the machine, files continue to transfer over to the card with no error indications.  But if you try to read them, they seem to open as empty (perhaps as filled with zeroes?). The file properties show correct information, and there is no data access error in trying to open one of of these files, but application programs complain of corrupted (wrong format) data. Now, if you eject the card and put it back in, the system complains of problems and asks if you want to scan and repair. Electing to do so yields the baffling response that the card was scanned and no errors were found! On top of this, the system still complains of card errors and asks if you want to scan and repair. This cycle will continue indefinitely.  But if you elect to skip the scan and use the card anyway, the directory seems readable, all the files seem accessible -- EXCEPT that files put on the card past 32GB have disa... Answer:Only 32GB accessible on micro SDXC card via Twist media card reader

More information: It appears that the file system on the card looks OK to DSKCHK, but the dirty bit is set. Trying to reset it with fsutil, I am told that the computer cannot write to the card. I have tried to do this two separate ways: 1) by having the card (in its SD adapter) in the Twist's built-in card reader, and 2) by putting the card (in its adapter) into a USB SDHC card reader. The card can be read perfectly in both situations, but can neither be written to (including dirty bit reset) nor formatted. Command-line tools show the filesystem as extFAT, so it seems as if Windows 8 understands the card format. I alerted Transcend tech support to this and they simply replied that the card in question was 64GB (which I told them!), and I needed to be sure that my computer hardware could give me full access to the entire 64GB range. Can anyone point me to a spec for the S230u that says definitively what the upper limit on card capacity is through the built-in media card slot?

I bought a SB X-Fi notebook card for my x-41 Tablet - it is an Express 34mm card.  My X-41 takes type 1 & 2 cards, I believe it on on a Card Bus.  Does anyone know if an adapter will make this sound card work - either express to pcmcia or express to USB?I have USB 1 - not USB 2 - I have done a lot o research and am waiting for a response from Creative Labs, who makes the card.  I will post when I find out.

hello there, i have recently upgraded my service to 200mbs with a dual band smart router, modem and router capable of 1000mbs, after upgrade i come to find my wifi card only recieves 2.4ghz channel, its pitiful that my cell phone can get 140mbs on 5ghz and my new laptop can only get 100mbs via ethernet and less than 20mbs wireless, i took it to the local computer store and he did not want to touch the machine because this model is extremely hard to get into and i have read that if it only has One antenna i would have to disassemble the display aswell , so i am basically asking several questions, (1) can i upgrade to a card that is 2 x 2 A/b/g/n/AC 867mbs  like the intel 7260 or 8260 (2) does this machine have the required 2 antennas so i do not have to take apart the display?. i find it ludacris that this machine came out in 2016 and is not capable of reaching passed 100mbs, i would have never purchsed it, i intend to keep upgrading speed as long as my ISP keeps giving me good deals on service, i pay $60 for 200mbs.....card is realtek RTL8723benf Single band 2.4ghz 100mbs......thank you in advance

Hi TechSpot folk, and thanks for in advance for anyone who can help me.

I've bought myself a new video card yesterday; HIS Radeon X1650 Pro 512mb IceQ, AGP. I went ahead to install it, and I get no picture after booting up.

I am receiving a signal to the monitor (I am not getting a "check signal" message) but no image comes to the PC. I went to put my old card in which is a Gigabyte 128mb 9600 Pro, and it now it doesn't work either!!!

Both cards are receiving power as theirs fans are chugging along.

I had also purchased a 1gig stick of RAM to complement my new video card, so I set my PC up the way it was before the attempted installation of the new card. Still nothing happening.

Current components of PC are:

P4 2.8ghz (D865PERL)
Gigabyte Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb
512mb RAM
DVD and Lite-On burner

Answer:New video card install no good, now older card doesn't work either

I don't know about the 9600 Pro but the X1650 Pro should have a power connector on it. Possibly a floppy drive type connector. Was that plugged in?

Lately, My laptop is very slow in recognizing my usb stick, or my Hard drive (usb 3.0) or my sxs cards through my express card slot. It 's also slow in recognizing my sd-cards through my card reader. I have a very fast laptop. A lenovo W530.

I just started a while ago, and I can't get it to recognize faster . Everything else works just fine and fast.... but it takes up to 4 minutes to recognize these things.

Can somebody help?

Answer:Laptop slowly recognizes usb stick/sd card/xpress card slot

Hey tidri. 2 things come to mind if it previously worked. One is a reinstall of all the drivers for the mobo, and the other is a full AV/Malware/Rootkit scan. If everything checks out, a full format and an OS reinstall would be my third move.

I have read the rather thin manual, and I can;t find any info on the card slot. (other than where it lives on the laptop)

Could someone please tell me how to insert my smart media card? the slot is huge and i'm worried about losing the card inside the laptop! I'm presuming the smart media will auto run?...

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Satellite P200-1FZ: How to insert the smart media card into the card slot

Would be nice to know what notebook model you own.
But, normally, for smaller cards, you will need an adapter which is often included, like for the memory stick pro duo.
I think it is just normal sized and you have to put in the middle of the card reader slot until you hear a click sound.

If you have not changed autorun settings, you should get a new window with the files on your card, when putting it into your notebook.

I just hang up on a call with the (Dutch) support from Lenovo.I ask the person if the Y500 has an whitelist for its wireless cards and he said "no"! Then I asked him why I see the message "Unauthorized Wireless network card is plugged in. Power off and remove it" on screen with a new Intel card in the machine. Even after that he still said there is no whitelist or at least known to him. This is the same answer I got a few months ago... Support on these type of machines is so bad that they won?t even figure out why there is a whitelist in the first place and they keep saying there isn't any whitelist even when I prove him wrong! The problem is that Lenovo is to greedy to place at least a 5GHz Wi-Fi card in this machine. I want to replace it with a newer one with AC support (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260). I did the same with an ASUS notebook and it works like a charm, no whitelist at all!The conclusion was the I schould buy and try another card to throw away another ?25,-. The person from the support told me that was the only option... Another problem is that both the CD/DVD/BD player and the video card have a broken/loose front bezel since they are extremely hard to get out of the system without much force. Most of the times I need a coin or a flat head screwdriver! When I send both of them for repair, chances are it's not under warranty and I have to pay ?50,- (per unit, so ?100,- in total) when I want them back, unrepaired!!!In conclusion, I have to pay for the... Hi all,

I recently bought a relatively expensive sound card on Amazon and after the second boot of my PC with the card installed and working my on board LAN card decided to not work throwing error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
The card IS enabled in the BIOS and I HAVE disabled the on-board sound card.

LAN Adapter Details:
-Make and Model: Realtek RTL8137/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
-Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
-Driver Version:
-Driver Date: 23/01/2014

Answer:Realtek network card not working with external sound card installed

This sounds like an IRQ problem, which is strange because modern PCs can usually resolve these conflicts automatically. But seeing that your system is a Pentium 4, maybe the motherboard is old enough to still be dealing with the issue.

One thing you could try is to perform a Clear CMOS procedure. This will force the motherboard to re-enumerate all the devices and will often solve IRQ conflicts. Note all your current BIOS settings
Shut down the computer > remove the power cord.
Remove the 3v motherboard battery.
Move the CLRTC jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3.
Touch a metal part of the case and Press and Hold the reset button for approx. 30 seconds to discharge all power from the board.
Put the CLRTC jumper back on pins 1-2.
Replace the 3v battery > replace the power cord > boot.
Immediately go back into BIOS and reset all your preferred settings. If the CLRTC worked you will need to reset the date and time in BIOS.
If that does not work then you could try to get the 2 cards to play nice together by installing them in different locations, if you have the extra slots.

Keep in mind that when removing any card it is important to remove it from Device Manager first. Remove it from Device Manager > shut down > then physically remove the card > then restart into Windows > then you can shut down perform the next procedure.

Sometimes you can simply install the newer card in another PCI/PCIe slot and that will resolve the conflict. (You must re... Read more

Is there a special way to open the wireless card slot on a Satellite L30 or do i just have to use a USB wireless adapter..... because the slot is there but i cant open it and the USB one is annoying.

thanks for the help....

Answer:Satellite L30 - How to open the Wireless card slot to upgrade the Wlan card

there is no special way. Just 2 screws..
So, if you have a mini-pci wlan card, then you can open the cover, insert it and use it. But be aware from loosen more screws than needed. :)

And if you?re not able to open it, then you will have to use your annoying usb-adapter. ;)

Hi, I have read on the forum that people are using the SDXC cards with their Yoga 13's.I have purchased a Sandisk 64Gb SDXC ExtremePro card but when I put it into the Card Reader a blue screen comes up saying " Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart." It also gives and error with this message saying: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (TosExt.Sys). It cannot restart again until I remove the card, the same thing happens in SAFE MODE also or if I try to start the computer with the card inserted already. The card is brand new and I bought it in a reputable shop. I have tested the card in a Lenovo ThinkPad X230 and it works fine. I have also tried to insert a different standard SD card into the Yoga but the same thing happens. I have reinstalled the driver for the reader but the problem still remains. The OS is Windows 8 64 bit. The card is in ex FAT format and I re-formatted it again just to be safe but still no luck. I was not able to find anything regarding this online but saw that some people here have similar problems.I would really appreciate if someone could help or at least let me know if there is a way of contacting Lenovo about this problem, I see that they will only accept emails regarding the ThinkPad product line.Thank you in advance and best regards to all!

Hi, does anyone know of an external PCMCIA card reader/writer that meets the specifications below:

• can read/write
• supports 3.3V/5V 16-bit PCMCIA cards
• type II PC card slot
• can read/write to a wireless LAN card or a modem card or an Ethernet LAN card
• works with Windows OS’s

My whole objective is to be able to use my Sony Ericsson GC82 EDGE PC card on my desktop computer (I’m looking for an external drive solution).

Even if your device does or does not meet all these specifications or you are not sure if it does, still respond to me with the drive that you think may meet my objective.

Hi,    I dont know how to insert my camera memory card in lenovo y410 notebook, there is a slot for card reader which already have some plastic plate(I even dont know what to call this ), when I removed that there is big slot where as my card is very small compared to slot. Do any body know how to use it? any videos? I already tried to search this forum and user guide but no luck. FYI, Ican insert this card in some other HP laptops. Thanks,Deepak.

Answer:How to insert memory card in multimedia card reader of Lenovo Y410 ?

I think the slot with the plastic card that you talk about might be for a PCI Express card.  The multi-media reader slot is below the PCI slot according to my User Guide.  As to an answer--that's what I have been trying to find also.  I just get answers suggesting I plug in my camera using the USB cord instead........  but I'm still curious about using my memory stick card also.

What do you mean exactly by ?MMC card doesn?t work??
What is card reader status in device manager?

I checked the user manual (can be downloaded from the Toshiba page) and it says the MMC cards are definitely supported.
I think this must be a software issue.

In your case I would recommend updating the Win XP to the latest state and to reinstall the Flash Media Driver and SD Secure Module again?

The desktop runs Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. I bought it a couple of days ago, and the problem existed with the preinstalled driver. I unistalled the driver, installed it again but nothing changed. Then, I got the driver from the Realtek Web site, and I installed the USB card reader driver for XP/Vista/Win7, but that did not help either. When I insert a 512MB card, it shows up as a disk drive and I can browse it in Windows Explorer. With any larger SD card, either a regular SD or SD HC, nothing happens. The cards I am using are not damaged, my camera reads them just fine. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any clues where to look for the right driver? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Ray and Julia,

Recheck all the cables and make sure they are plugged in properly.

When you install a new video card you have to remove ALL drivers for the old card.
Uninstall the drivers for the old card in Add/Remove Programs and if you don't have the option there, check in Control Panel/Device Manager and make sure there are not 2 cards showing under Display Adapters. If the old one is still showing, Highlight it and click Remove.

Uninstall the new video card drivers, restart then re-install the new drivers.

Hi, The SD card reader in my laptop is not working. I have a Carbon X1 laptop (machine type 3443CT0) running a fresh install on Windows 7, 64-bit Ultimate edition. This is not the Win7 image that comes with the laptop, but rather a fresh installation of vanilla Windows 7 ultimate from a Microsoft DVD. I installed all of the relavent drivers for this machine from Lenovo's drivers page: Under the "Camera and Card Reader" category, I installed: Media Card Reader Driver for Windows 7, version, released Aug 13, 2012. The installer seemed to finish successfully and asked for a laptop reboot. However, the SD Card reader is still not working. Under Device Manager, in the "Other devices" category, I see "Base System Device" listed with missing drivers. Under the details tab of that item, I choose "Hardware Ids" under property. The vendor ID is 1180 (for Ricoh) and the Device ID is E822. By searching the website (below), I found out that this is the "Ricoh PCIe SD/MMC Host Controller"  Are other people having problems with installing this driver? I also tried the Windows 8 64-bit driver, just in case and that is not working either. The SD Card reader works under Linux, but not under Windows 7, so I'm pretty sure it's a device driver issue, not a hardware iss... Answer:Drivers for Ricoh Media Card (SD card) reader on Carbon X1 not working

Maybe somebody with a Carbon X1 running Windows 7, can look for "Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC Host Controller" under Device Manager and let me know which driver they are using... or better yet send me a link to download that driver file and I can use it on my system...hopefully.

I have thinkpad w530 w windows 8.1 I am trying to capture video footage into my computer using a firewire card that of course plugs into the MEDIA CARD READER SLOT. I can't get the computer to recognize my camcorder- the camcorder connection does not show up in DEVICE MANAGER I am using HDVSPLIT to capture the video and also in hdvsplit there is a message, "camera not recognized" or something like that.  I am not sure if the media card reader is bad, or maybe the firewire card is bad or maybe it is the hdv split that is the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Answer:How do I tell if my Media Card Reader/Express card slot is functioning correctly?

Could it be the ExpressCard slot that the FireWire card plugs into?  I've never seen a FireWire card that plugs into the media card slot used for SD Cards.
FireWire cards can be a little tricky to get working sometimes, especially when interfacing with a camcorder.
Have you checked with the manufacturer to see if Windows 8.1 drivers are available for it?  Even if they are not, it may be possible to use Windows 7 or even Windows Vista drivers.
Once you have verified that the FireWire card is recognized, plug the camcorder in again, amd see if it gets recognized.  If it does not, check with its manufacturer for Windows 8.1 drivers, just like you did with the FireWire card.
At that point, the hardware should all be working with Windows 8.1.

I have installed all the drivers from "", and still, in the hardware management box, the above mentioned controllers have question marks in front of them.

I have also tried to set up a network and failed, probably due to the lack of the Network controller. My network card seems to be installed.

I?ve got one question; How did you install the Toshiba drivers???
Did you follow the guide lines in the ?installation Instruction? document which was placed also on the Toshiba driver page??

As far as I know some problems could appear if the drivers are installed in the wrong order.
I would recommend choosing the right drivers and then to follow the guide line recommended in the Toshiba document.

We are upgrading to the T410 from previous T series Lenovo's. Our users are finding their Verizon PC Express Cards don't really "lock" into the slot. And slight touch or bump while using the laptop and the card slides out enough to show it as being removed in windows. Users are resulting to taping the cards to keep them in place. Anyone else deal with this yet?

hi guys. i have an lsi logic 20320 pci-x scsi card, and I accidentally flashed it with the incorrect bios/firmware while attempting to upgrade it. now the card will not boot up and is unusable. is there any way to restore or change the firmware/bios on it now? the reason i can't do it is because i can't boot to a floppy or command prompt BEFORE the scsi bios tries to boot the card up. once the scsi card tries to boot up, it displays "hardware malfunction" and freezes and/or reboots the system. and there is no way to bypass or prevent the card from starting up. i have tried adding an additional scsi card and booting into a command prompt after IT boots up, but my pci bus will only recognize one scsi card at a time, so this doesn't work. and obviously , i can not repair the card from within windows, because i can not even get into windows with the card installed. any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated, as I have searched the internet for a long time now, and talked to numerous clueless tech support reps about this.

Answer:lsi logic 20320 u320 pci scsi card - flashed incorrect bios, card will not work now

I would say you are probably hosed, unless you can get ahold of another card that may be damaged in some other way and have someone really good to swap the chips.

Hi all,

I've attached a full Everest report and I will list my specs then go into the details of my situation

Make: Acer.
Model: M5100.
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9500 Quad Core Processor 2.2 GHz
Ram: 4.00 GB
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

My problems started about a week ago when I came to my computer in the morning and found that the screen was crackling and fuzzy. I eventually found out I was having nlvddmkm.sys issues. The games I normally like to play wouldn't work at all. I tried a bunch of workarounds and the only one that worked was underclocking my Video Card using EVGA Precision Utility. This was only partially successful and I was still having issues with graphics glitches. So I bought a new Video Card: Radeon HD 4670.

Before installing it I started my computer in safe mode and used both CC Cleaner and Driver Sweeper to remove old graphics drivers.

When I started up the computer and ran the setup program from the CD to install drivers everything seemed to be good and my graphics were fine but... I had no sound.

This morning I was able to get sound but... only from my onboard Realtek Sound. My recently purchased X-Raider 7.1 Sound Card was showing in the Device Manager but when I tried to run it's setup to install correct drivers I kept getting a message telling me to the device was not plugged in.

Attempts to solve the issue:

I've got the most recent drivers for the Sound Card and the Video Card but I c... Read more

When an SD Card is inserted on the Card Reader, Windows 7 crashes (Blue Screen of Death). Inserting the SD card before boot-up or at any time after the laptop has booted, would still result on BSOD. Laptop is running the latest driver available. Anyone of you experienced this?

Answer:ThinkPad W540 - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when Inserting SD Card on Card Reader

Sorry to hear about the issue with your computer. Bluescreen error messages are generally a gold mine of details for what's wrong, so if you could post a picture or copy down the text of the error it would go a long way toward finding out where the problem might be.  Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the card reader might help as well. Make sure you uninstall the driver manually first, as sometimes the installer programs can leave behind old data and settings that can be the cause of the issue.

I need help! So I'm reaching out to you even know this is not the forum--any ideas? Loved to make this ol' 64 bit run again for my kid!
I need to get a video card that will work with Windows 10 on a Dell Precision 380--It's a PCIe card with a power connector on the card. Can't figure that out. Any ideas? It has a FX 3450 card now.
Also I have a Pentium D 3.0 GHz with 8 GB of RAM so it's working--kind'a. I can't update the driver on the video card because this is so old, but it's running Windows 10 without a hiccup except for the video latency--skips like crazy--Didn't have the problem with XP: just after the upgrade. Mind you, this is 64 bit

Okay, I did something really stupid. It was late, I was in the dark, and I wasn't paying attention (obviously) so here's what happened...

I had a SanDisk 2GB Micro SD Memory Card that I was using in my cell phone.
I wanted to transfer some pics & photos from my computer to the phone, so I decided to stick it in the Express Card slot of my laptop. Simple enough, right?

....Well being the incredibly smart person that I am, I put the micro memory card in the adapter, but it was the wrong one. So my computer pretty much swallowed it whole. I can't get it back out.
Now I can't use the Express Card slot in my computer AT ALL, because the old one is still stuck in there. You can't really see it, but if you try to put another adapter in there, it won't "click". It won't go all the way because ... the old one I lost is still in there waiting to be rescued, haha.

So my question is: How do I get the memory card out of my computer??

I tried taking it apart, but I couldn't get the part of where the express card slot is, so that was no good. There's a way to do this, I know. I'm just not smart enough to figure it out on my own. Which is probably a good thing, because I might mess it up again, lol.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7416 laptop.
Any help is appreciated!
