Preferred Solution: Beeping noise coming from p.c

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So all of the sudden my PC will make a beeping noise once every 3 minutes or so. To be clear this is coming out of my actual speakers and not my PC. I think it just started and I can't think of what I did differently. It lasts about a second and mutes all other audio for the second that it lasts.

Answer:[SOLVED] Strange beeping noise coming through my speakers

So i restarted my PC and it seems to be OK.

Whenever I'm using something that is using CPU I keep hearing a tiny beep coming from my speakers, it doesn't always sound the same. It also briefly causes a pop sound in one of my speakers. I updated my BIOS yesterday but I don't know if that caused it, any ideas?

Question: Beeping Noise?

Ok i just reinstalled Win XP PRO and i installed alll the updates and stuff but didnt install my sound drivers yet. But when I am on AiM, and I hit enter to send something my computer beeps at me. Why does it do this.

Answer:Beeping Noise?

There is probably a really cool sound associated with that action, but since you don't have the sound drivers loaded, Windows uses the system speaker inside the tower. Probably nothing to worry about.

Hi all,

yesterday i received my brand new KRK RP6 G3 active monitor speakers.
But when I connect them with my soundcard, M-Audio Fast track, using unbalanced RCA line out, I get very annoying high pitched beep and continues noise.

The beep only occurs when there is a sound (windows, mp3, youtube, doesn;t matter) and after I stopped the sound the beep continues for a few seconds until it stops.

The white noise starts after the first sound windows makes and doesn't stop anymore. When I move the cursor, or scroll down a internet page the noise gets interrupted and it starts crackling a little.

When I connect the speakers directly with my Ipod for example, then there is almost no noise, and 0 beeping.

I have tried to disables as many as possible things in Windows that could interfere.
I also tried a different soundcard and the soundcard of my motherboard. But nothing fixes the problem completely.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Beeping and noise from KRK RP6 G3

Welcome to Windows Seven Forum.

This could be caused by an earthing loop. I am not familiar with these speakers, but is the bass woofer unit separately powered. If it is, does you home power have an earth system & normally has a 3 wired plug. Sometimes too many earth's can cause a loop & it sets up a high pitched noise like a bad feed back in a public address system, or a loud humming sound.

Sometimes you can insert the RCA plug just far enough in to make the centre contact without the outer ring contacting. If this stop the noise then it may be an earthing problem.

Post back & let us know how you get on.

The first thing to check is that the memory slots are clean and that the modules are fully seated in each slot. Make sure to unplug the system from the wall and ground yourself on the metal of the chassis in order to prevent problems with static.

when i turn the computer on the is a constant beeping noise. i have open the case and the cooler fan isn't working, and there is no power to the cd rom and hard drive.

Answer:beeping noise

Sounds like your power supply.
I would verify all connections since you have the case open.
Could be mother board but since your cpu fan is not spinning It is most likely the motherboard.
The power supply is not very difficult to replace if you are willing to try or would probaly cost you about $75.00 if you took it in to a shop depending on the type of power supply you will need.
Good Luck,

Every so often, my computer makes a random beep. Just out of nowhere, for no good reason. It sounds like its coming from my CPU. Nothing bad seems to happen, but its driving me crazy, i would like to know what is beeping and why.

Heh, the beep isn't coming from your CPU, it doesn't have a speaker!

Hello

I think I have the answer, but would like someone to confirm my theory....

My PC has started beeping intermittently, I believe it only happens when transferring files across...I noticed that when the PC beeps the file transfer stops for a few seconds then resumes...( copying from one HDD to two others at the same time ) if I pause the copying there is no beeping....I am making the assumption that there is a fault with the target HDD which is resulting in the occasional beeping from the PC and stopping both the other HDD"s from copying...

If this sound s likely then I will back up and destroy this suspect HDD..

mamy thanks

I have 2 problems. The first is the beeping noises coming from my tower. The beeping only starts when the Cpu. is under pressure. Like when ever I start virus scan, or whenever, I use SAS. The beeps are ....BE---Beep ....BE---Beep ...Be----Beep... ect. After I close all programs, it stops. I done a google search and read somewhere that the sounds are codes for my Phoenix Bios. Anyone know anything about that???

There is also one more problem. I have installed a Radeon 9550 AGP card. It worked ok for around a year or so. Then after a while,(while booting up)after the memory check and verifying DMI data pool.... I get a black screen. The black screen is where the windows xp logo should be. I would have to turn it off and on and start windows normally and last good config.a few times before it would turn on. So i took the card out and unistalled the drivers. I actually left it out for a few months, (During which time the beeping went away), cause i wasn't playing any games that needed it. Just yesterday though, I download the driver for the AGP card, put the card back in, and black screen again. After turning off the power a few times and turning it back on and starting windows normally. It finally turned on. And I got the driver installed. Everything seems ok. except for the beeping. And I know that when i turn it off, I may not be able to get it back on. The beeping only occurs when the AGP card in installed, but the beeps seem to be coming from the CPU, but it is rea... Hi all,

I have been having this "issue" with my PC for a few weeks now.

What happens is while I am using the computer, especially if I am doing a bit of typing, the computer will start randomly beeping, one beep a second, for about 30-60 seconds, varying. It's coming from the box, it sounds the same as when the RAM is faulty, except it is happening when I am using the PC. While it is beeping the keyboard will lock up and I cant do anything but wait until it stops beeping and then keep going my merry way....

It only happens maybe once a week at the most.

I'm pretty cluey about computers, but this has be stumped.. at first I was thinking that maybe I was pressing a button on the keyboard and it was making the system do it, but I have no idea what would make it do that. I'm also thinking that maybe my USB keyboard is causing grief, as I am running it through a PS/2 adapter, which I have to use as I dual boot with Linux Ubuntu.

I'm sure it is something small I am over-looking, so if anyone has had this issue too or has any suggestions/solutions it would be much appreciated.

Edit*

It just happened again, twice in 1 hours can't be good.... his time it only beeped for about 10 seconds until I Ctrl+Alt-Deleted, and then it stopped...?

I have an IBM G70 monitor that is about 2 years old. Every time I turn it on, there is a high-pitched beeping sound coming from it. Sometimes it goes away when I am in a program such as a game, but on my desktop or while surfing the internet it is always making that beeping sound. I've tried unplugging speakers and mic but that hasn't solved it. Can anyone help me?

TFT or CRT? Not much you can do with either as far as repair is concerned unless you take it to a repair shop. A high pitched sound is not uncommon with CRT monitors, but should not be loud.

Hello,
My laptops beeps continuously while it is coming on, and stops just as it tells me to chose an operating system to start...then it types on my password space provided on it own like a key is pressed down.. but no key does like its pressed down when am on microsoft word or any other application that can allow for typing..summarily its ok as soon as it starts up, but the continuous beeping before it starts up is really annoying, can anyone help.

Answer:Continuous beeping while coming on(laptop)

You have a stuck key or a faulty keyboard. Check all the keys and clean the keyboard.

Or use KeyBoard Test to find what key is causing the problem: http://www.passmark.com/products/keytest.htm

The "bonk" sounds like a notification sound if it is a "windows" sound and not coming from the motherboard. I don't know what the above does, but possibly norton is trying to tell you something.

Why don't you try "clean booting" and see if it occurs:

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

See this link for detailed information:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310353
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 << for Vista, but applies equally to XP, and better written.

Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as well.

Get the idea? You want to isolate the problem to a specific startup if possible.

My main gaming computer has given me the following problems. When I turn it on there is no image displayed on the screen. (I have tested the monitor with other systems it is fine) and I hear a series of short beeps which lasts ~5 seconds and then the computer appears to be running (fans spinning lights on but no sounds from the speakers or images on the monitor). I don't believe the problem could be my video cable due to the beeping noises and lack of start up music playing over the speakers. Thus I assume that the problem lies with my video card or the motherboard. Am I right to make this assumption? The only major hardware change in that computer was an upgrade to the video card, last year, and a new sound card, at the beginning of this year. I also cannot think of any software I have downloaded recently that could be causing problems. I still have the old video card so should I try switching it with the current one? Would that help? What should I do? What else could cause this problem?

Thank You for using Lenovo Community Forums!

I'm Thinking about stuck key or button on your system.
Can you try running Passmark Keyboard Test a key or button will show red on the image if it is being pressed or held down.

Try doing a BIOS Reset as well
Keep on hitting F2 when you turn it on,
Once inside BIOS, hit f9 to load default and f10 to save and exit

Question: Loud Beeping Noise

I installed a 200gig hd in my comp, with my 80 gig thats already in there. Everything was good, windows loaded fine, but today my computer light started blinking on and off and my comp made a loud continuous beeping sound. Whats up? Its completely random, and it usually stops making that sound after 10-20 sec.

Answer:Loud Beeping Noise

First guess would be that your system is not getting enough love from your power supply.

Go here: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/ and calculate how much your system needs, then open up your case and look at the sticker on your PSU to see how many watts it is putting out.

My laptop has been beeping (5 times) loudly on start-up and then silently but continuously during use.
I know this indicates a battery problem, but for now, I really just need to disable this - I am a student and can't use my laptop in the library if it's like this. I've tried Googling answers, but I can't figure out how to disable the beeps. Please help.
Thanks.

Answer:How to Stop BEEPING noise?

It's either a weak CMOS/reserve battery or a bad clock chip.  Try replacing the CMOS battery -- it's usually a CR-2032 lithium button cell somewhere on the mainboard (we'll need to know what model - i.e., Inspiron N5110, 5531, etc. to tell you for sure).
If that doesn't solve the problem, it's the clock chip that's bad and the mainboard will need to be replaced.
There's no way to silence the beeps short of fixing the problem that's causing them.

Hello there, I have just purchased a brand new HP Envy 15 with i7. Everything is perfect but i hear clicky noise like there is a disc in the DVD drive, along with that companied by the occasional beep. I have turned off all audio to assess the beeping noise and its not from the speakers, and it does not happen on a regular interval. Infact it seem more random and just beep at unexpected times, some times more frequent, sometimes not a sound for hours. The clicky sound i mentioned sound like the PC is processing a disc in the DVD drive, which is a rather odd noise, and sound more like something thats 4-5 years old rather than a brand new PC.All of my laptops have been HP, and they all seem rather silent upon first purchase, so i would like to have a clarification regarding about these issues.  Many thanksRegardsLisa

Answer:Beeping noise from HP Envy 15

Hi @Paperdollies ,Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Envy 15 Notebook and strange clicking noises coming from what appears to be the CD/DVD tray. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. This will have the BIOS look at the Hardware that is connected. If an update has changed the BIOS this will restore it and usually resolves any issues with the clicking noises. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Hello,I was sitting at my pc and turned and knocked it with my knee. Not the first time I have done this but this time the screen went blank and the computer started beeping from within. I have switched it off for a few days now and still when I switch on again it beeps and no signal is going to the screen.Does anyone recognise the problem and would you be able to give me any ideas on how to fix this or would it be best to take it to a PC shop? I have a lot of data not recently backup and hope this isnt going to be lost :-(

Answer:My PC makes beeping noise

hi o44wen...the most likely reason will be the graphics card has been unseated by the blow /blows...take the side off the pc and reseat the graphics card (be sure to unplug from the mains first).hope this helps, Dave.

Last night my lap top fell off of my bed. It still turns on and works fine, but every once and awhile i'll hear a loud clicking/beeping coming from inside. When this happens my browser will freeze up for 2 minutes and sometimes I even have to shut it down because it won't come out of it.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? It sounds like something is loose, but I'm not too sure..

Answer:Clicking/beeping noise

Any cable or component could be loose. Remove the keyboard, if you can, then unplug and reseat everything. Remove and reseat the hard drive. Remove and reseat the optical drive. Continue until you have removed and reconnected every possible thing... including the cable from the base unit to the screen.

Every time I startup my old pc I get a very annoying and constant beeping noise. It started after installing some RAM on it (somewhat forcefully, afraid I might've broken something on the motherboard the process maybe). I also changed the video card before so, but it booted up fine and I installed drivers and such for it and it wasn't until afterwards that it did it. Can someone tell me what's wrong with my computer and possibly how to fix it?

Answer:Bootup Beeping Noise

Check the support website for the manufacturer to see what the beep codes are telling you . . the beep codes are different for different boards, but if it started after installin RAM, I'd take that RAM out and see if the beeping goes away

My first post here, hope this is the right place. Every midnight the computer starts making a beep beep and so on until it starts beeping constantly unit it stops about a minute later, then it does it again at exactly 12:10 am. It does this when off or on/standby mode with speakers off. It is a sony Vaio about 10 years old with Windows xp. Any ideas? Only way to stop the sound is to unplug all electrical plugins.

Answer:Beeping Noise at Midnight

Boot into Setup (Bios) and look for anything that might say Alarm or Notification
Also to go Start/Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter. In the Event Viewer go to the Left Panel and look under System and Application for any Red X's to see if there is a program that is causing it.

Hi Everyone, I have just purchased a Yoga 2 13 nonpro and I occasionally get a single beep coming from it. It does this more so on while on battery. I know that the beeps are indicative of hardware issues, but the descriptions of the beep codes are extremely vague. Do any of you have any idea what could be causing this? I work on this computer and the last thing I want to do is send it to be checked out since that will take a few weeks at the least. Any information you can provide will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Answer:Yoga 2 13 Beeping noise

Don't know if you found it already, there's an option in the bios that turns battery beep on and off. When on it will beep when it will start/stop charging.

Please could you help. I hear a beep which comes from my graphics card I think when playing Soldier of Fortune , this does not happen with other games i play such as Conflict Desert Storm or Moto GP 2. The nature of the beeps are not consistent and tend to happen after a set period of time for example it will beep once, then stop, then maybe a few minutes later it will beep again then stop, then it may beep 3 times in a row at times then stop again for a while, It doesnt happen all the time only sometimes. Is this my card overheating? If so could i speed up my fan to cool it down quicker. The card is a Geforce 4 TI 4200 64MB, with a fan on the card, My Processor is 1.7 GHZ Celeron, ive got 192 RAM but I think only 64mb is available as the rest is taken up. I would be very grateful if you could offer some advice such as buying a PCI Fan to install underneath the card for additional cooling or how to speed up my current fan etc. Or is it simply nothing to worry about? I have not overclocked my G Card. Its only this one game it beeps on. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks -Rob-.

Hi,

I just recently got my Qosmio F60 and I've noticed that when I'm typing, only really when I type fast, the computer beeps.
It mainly occurs around the central keys (Between E, D & C and U, J & M).

When I type fast I probably tend to hit the keys a bit harder but it does also happen sometimes when I'm not pressing hard at all.
The sound is emitted from the speakers and it doesn't happen when the sound is muted.
Does anyone know what that sound is? It is puzzling and slightly annoying.

I made a recording of the sound to give you a better idea, the beeping doesn't happen this frequent I just typed really fast rubbish to make it beep a lot.
I didn't know where to upload the sound file so I've just uploaded it to mediafire.

[Beep Example|http://download468.mediafire.com/wbabftdtnf8g/451s4klhs5cb6l0/P3220045.mp3]

Answer:Re: Qosmio F60 - Keyboard beeping noise

Hello

Normally the notebook shouldn?t make any noises when you type something so I think it?s something wrong with your notebook.

It?s pretty new if you got it recently so I would return the whole device and ask for a new one. I?m sure the seller can replace it with another F60 that works perfectly.

By the way: I was not able to play the sound file but it still shouldn?t make such beeping noise so replace it with another one. Then you can be happy ;)

Ok, so I got a Dell from my uncle to fix, he got it from a insurance claim. Basically first when we got it we thought it only needed a power supply. Popped one in to no avail, looked at the Mobo lights and it showed that we had fried RAM. Ordered two brand spanking new sticks of SDRAM for it. Now when started I am greeted with three long beeps. At which point I realized I forgot the chasis fan, put it on, same beeps. Any ideas?

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10 I have this beeping noise on my computer. Sometimes it's a single beep, sometimes double.
I have tried changing system sounds, turning off notification sounds. Of all the system sounds available that were switched on for some function or another, the sound that matched was 'windows information bar'. This is what the beeping sounds like, but it is louder than when I press the test button. I found every function that used this sound, and then changed the sounds to "none". Problem persisted. I then changed the sound scheme to "no sounds", but the problem is persisting.
When I place volume on mute, the sound disappears, so it is definitely coming through the speakers.
I am running an Acer Aspire R14 core i7.
I have checked for audio driver updates
I have recorded the beeping and can upload if necessary.
I would be grateful for any assistance, thank you.

When I start my Inspiron N5040, it makes audible 3 beeps for 3 times then it goes away but I can hear
faint 5 beeping noises while computer is running at a regular interval.  It beeps for 5 times then pauses for a few seconds then it continues on and on.

Answer:My laptop is making beeping noise

Hi ELIJAH3,
3 beeps codes is a system board failure and 5 beeps is a CMOS battery failure.
Ensure you backup all imp data on the system first.
Update the BIOS if possible - http://dell.to/2g6cqpK- restart the system and check.
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.
If the 5 beeps issue persists, then download the service manual from the above link - remove and reseat the CMOS battery and check. Or replace the CMOS battery and check.
If the issue is unresolved, then I would suspect a motherboard failure.
You could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
You could also order the parts online here - http://bit.ly/2gLyEP1
My personal suggestion is for you to invest your money on a new machine than to repair this system. However, that is your discretion.
Let us know if you have any other queries.

So every here and then my computer would freeze, stopping all inputs from keyboards and mouse. However, after 2~5 seconds, my computer does every single button press I did along with strange beep noises...

For example, if I was moving files around onto a flashdrive, and I notice that my mouse isn't responding. After left-Clicking, pressing a few keys, and 3~5 seconds later, by key inputs go off along with my mouse movement and mouse clicks, and along with it beeps for each and every single button pressed within the time frame of the freeze.

Answer:Windows 7 Beeping noise + freeze

Try uninstalling the mouse drivers...then reboot Windows.

Ditto for the keyboard drivers/keyboard.

You might also check your keyboard for suck keys and cleanliness.

Hi guys,

I bought my computer this summer, and it has always beeped randomly. I don't get any freezes, slow downs or anything. It just beeps randomly, and then it does it again like 5 minutes later. I thought it might be a RAM problem, but one of my sticks went bad about two days ago, I tested every single one of them and the beeping is still there.

Also, every single time I open a game, there is going to be some screeching in my headset. It happens ONLY when I open a game, and some games are worse than others. Even if I mute my sound it stays.

Can anyone help me solve this ? Thanks

So this was weird, i just booted my V5-591G right now, opened Itunes and shortly after, I moved the cursor and it lagged a second before moving over in a choppy way with the machine making beeps each "chop" it jumped. It was like the beep when you plug in the power source. Also, it opened Cortana by itself right after. It shouldn't be a virus because I just ran a scan yesterday and it quarantined a few files, which were deleted and the machine was rebooted.

Hello, I recently built a computer and installed Windows Ten on it. I am using it for gaming, but ever since the first boot up, there have been some strange, "beeping" noises constantly going on . It almost sounds like a dulled electric pencil sharpener, but with high pitched, 8 bit beeping noises. When I think of it it is almost like binary sound, if you know what I mean. Each noise is at different pitches, and last different amounts of time. It doesn't even have the decency to have any rhythm . It is not the motherboard speaker I know. Even if my volume is muted, I still hear them. I do use the front audio jack if that helps any. I do not have a sound card, it is integrated in my mobo. If anyone knows how to turn these off or mute them, that would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Go to Clipmate, Options, Sounds and turn off "clipboard data cleared by another app" and "clipboard data ignored/rejected".This problem will be frequent if you use other applications that are accessing the clipboard frequently ,like Phrase Express or KeepPass, for example

How can I solve this?

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I'm eagerly searching for an answer that Dell was not able to pin-point.  I just bought a Inspiron 17R, Intel i3, 4GB RAM.  I've had the machine for exactly one week and have noticed several times, this high pitch (almost like a digital watch), that comes on for about 3 seconds, followed by a 'click', as if a disk drive was done working.  This noise is coming from within the computer, not the speakers.  Yesterday, it did it again, except the pitch changed during it's sound; again, followed by the 'clicking' sound.  ANY THOUGHTS?????
The other thing I've noticed (and maybe I'm oblivious to new technology), is the fan on the inside of the computer doesn't stay on all the time.  It comes on about once every 3-4 minutes, at a about a 5-8 second cycle.  Maybe it's supposed to do that.  I'm use to my old machine's fan staying on most of the time, allowing you to feel the heat being pushed out.  Not so much on this one.
Now, could these two be related?  I trust the suggestions and knowledge of you computer "geniuses" out there and THANK you for any help you can throw my way.

R.B.

Answer:high-pitch beeping noise that last 3-4 seconds??

Hi, I seem to be having the same issue (the beep and click). It seems to happen once a week randomly and I don't know why. Did you ever find a solution to this problem? If not, did it cause any problem for you later?
I've been trying to record the sound for some time now because I figured it might help technicians if anything.

So my computer has been acting really wierd lately. Couple of months ago it was fine but lately it's been shutting down for no reason what so ever. But before closing everything, it makes so many beeps through the speakers not from the system it self. Whenever im typing it writes "bn/ bn/ --bn/ bn/ -bn/ --bn/ bn/ -bn/ --bn/ bn/ --bn/ --bnbn" each bn being a beep. Now I've tried everything down to wiping the whole pc. I got a new cpu cooler thinking it was the cpu. I'm now thinking it may be the motherboard or the Psu but I'd like to ask you if you've ever encountered this problem before?
Sometimes, it even starts shutting during the initial boot up.. It goes to sleep before shutting down and when it recovers from the sleep it will have closed everything and shuts down..

Answer:Pc randomly shuts down and makes beeping noise?

Never heard of the likes before. Possibly a safety system of a failing PSU. Modern ones have a system to protect the MoBo I think.

Answer:Doesnt Load And Makes A Beeping Noise

Need more information to help you with this. What is the make and model of your computer? Those beeps you are hearing are BIOS error codes. Depending on what BIOS your computer has installed these codes will tell you where the problem is. So give us more information and we can take it from there.

My PC has 2 ram installed. When I push the power button, I hear 3 slow beeps.. :/ I checked my computer 4 times already, still the same problem. This is the new ram I installed: http://www.archmemory.com/ram.cfm/e...RAM-for-eMachines-eMachines-T3522-28899-36769
I had to take it out and put everything the way it was before I install it to post this thread. Any help on what to do. I did push the ram in tight already. I don't know what's the problem
Here are my PC specs:

Windows XP, Home Editon Version 2002 (Service Pack 3)
Intel Celeron D Processor 352
3.33 GHz
511MB of RAM
Asus 512MB nVidia Geforce 8400 GS Silent

Thanks in Advance!

Answer:eMachines makes a beeping noise, when installing new ram?

Perhaps you put the ram in the wrong way? And did you make sure you "doubled up" and didn't put different types of ram in each slot? What happens when you take out the new ram or leave the new ram in and take out the old ram?

So for 3 days now I have been having this problem, whenever I start a game that makes my PC work harder (dark souls 2, wildstar) my computer starts making this loud beeping noise and then it just turns its self off. Whenever I play games that don't require much I never get this problem, does anyone have any idea what my problem is? Thanks for your help in advance.

Answer:Beeping noise making my computer crash

Hi ao6238, and welcome to TSG.

If the motherboard supports it, the beeping may be an internal overheating alarm and the shutdown may be a protective measure to prevent heat failure. Give us some details about your computer hardware setup.

Whenever I turn on wireless connectivity via the switch on the right side of my Thinkpad T400s 2808-D9G, I hear an extremely annoying, beeping noise. It immediately stops when turning "off" this switch again. The noise described above is not constant. Sometimes it's accompanying every key stroke. Sometimes on the contrary: It's getting louder when the notebook is idle and stopping when a key is pressed. It even disappears completely from time to time (for minutes) and then, all of a sudden, it's there again, noisier than ever before! Does anyone else experience the same problem? Is there a known solution to this? Apart from this, my T400s incl. WLAN, WWAN, Bluetooth etc. is smooth as can be!

Answer:[T400s] beeping noise when wireless switch is "on"

it there a sequence in the beeps? can you make a recording of it and post it on youtube or something?

At first I thought it was a POST error, but the length and amount of beeps is different every time I boot up. Once in a rare while, it won't even beep at all when it boots up. It's really loud and annoying and sounds like it's coming from the onboard speaker. Before this was a problem, it used to make the same sound when I was holding down a key on the keyboard during bootup. Any idea how I can get rid of these beeps? (My laptop has also been taking an unusually long time to boot up, although I'm not sure if these problems are related.)
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Janis

(PS This is a laptop Acer Aspire 5735, if that helps at all.)

Answer:Irregular beeping noise heard at Startup... Please help?

I don't know so much about these beeping problems but there probably gonna ask you to remove one of the ram sticks if you have two, reboot and see if there's any change, then try each ram stick one at a time. Are there any error messages displayed at the time of the beeping? Does it say anything like press F1 , F2 to continue?

Hello every1

I have an Acer Aspire 5738Z and I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. Every time I boot it up it works fine until I start getting onto Internet. When I am using internet say, streaming videos on Youtube or playing an online game or watching a movie online, the laptop just freezes. sometimes it freezes for like 2 secs but sometimes over 10 minutes. And then sometimes it comes back on again as normal or I will have to manually restart it from my end. I also tried to find any faults using a registry checker and couldnt find any although I am not pretty sure which is the best registry cleaner to be used. I also find that sometimes the laptop beeps just once before it unfreezes.

But it works fine when when I am not using the applications that need internet like listening to music, watching movies from hard drive or playing games without going online. So, I would guess it would be related to modem, video drivers etc. but i couldnt find a registry cleaner which can find which drivers are out of date and things like that.

Will some1 please be able to help me out here?

Answer:Laptop freezes and then a small beeping noise......

I am not pretty sure which is the best registry cleaner to be used.Click to expand...

dont use a registry cleaner causes more issues then solves

update the drivers for the video, sound and network adapters would be my first thing to do

whats the make and model of the PC - the manufacturers support website should have the drivers
