How do I connect my phone to my CPU or can I? The Bluetooth icon is lit up but my phone doesnt see it? Help!

Answer:Bluetooth connection to my phone?

You're going to have to give a few more details. What computer model do you have? What bluetooth software installed? What phone do you have? which device has the icon lit up? There's a process to pair devices. As long as you have bluetooth enable and visible to both devices there's you should be able to start process whereby you give permission from one device to pair with the other.

I`ve tried all ways to connect my Sony Erickson P610 to my Advent laptop with no success.

I have an identical phone to when I was able to connect b4 I lost it.
I would have expected to be able to connect with no hassle but to no avail.
The laptop recognises my phone and vice versa.
The message when trying to connect says "there was a hardware failure in the modem or other device".and......."Could not detect modem,it may not be in use, turned off,or not installed properly"

I`ve tested the modem and it`s working properly so I wonder if anyone can help.
God bless for now,

I used to be able to connect to the Internet on my laptop via my mobile phone and the Bluetooth connection. When I go to the device and device properties now the dialogue box doesn't have the option of connecting to the Internet as it used to. I can still connect using my netbook computer and the same phone so it's obviously not the phone that's the problem. What can be wrong?

Using Lenovo thinkpad r61 and Windows XP. Bluetooth peripheral works great with mouse & keyboard. It used to work great to send & receive files from Samsung Sync SGH A707C. Now, when I try to send or receive a file from phone to laptop, I get a message: file transfer not successful, an address incompatible with the requested protocol was used. My cell phone is recognized as a bluetooth device & I've been thru the set-up several times. What could I be missing here? There just doesn't seem to be a connection. Thanks for any help!

Not exactly a computer related question, but technology related. If I get a bluetooth car kit and pair it with my mobile phone, does it automatically reconnect when the phone comes in range or do I have to go through the menus and make a connection each time?

Answer:Question anout Mobile Phone Bluetooth connection

I have a bluetooth mobile and a car that is bluetoothed. Once they are paired together they will automatcally exchange once the car engine is on and the cell phone is in range. The only minor problem I have had is that the cell phone should be live before you start on your car. For some reason it seems to take longer to pair that way round. So, simply, once paired, forever recognised

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." What is this and how do I fix it? I can't get my Logitech K810 keybaord to stay connected. It pairs, and works for awhile, then disconnests, even though it says it is connected. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

Hi,

I?m trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S III to my new Asus LX302L via bluetooth.
Both have bluetooth vers. 4 and I have successfully connected other units to my phone earlier but now it doesn't work.

I can "see" both units and they are linked together via password but that's it.
After I linked them together, the status information on the computer says "Not connectet" for the phone. The same information is the phone saying about the computer.
All drivers are up to date.

I want to use my phone as a remote using "Unified remote" and I also want to play music via the phone out to the computer speakers. This I have been able to do with my old computer (windows 7) but now it doesn't work.

What should I do?

Best regards,
David

Answer:Tried to upload a photo but my Windows phone says that my PC does not support Bluetooth, do I need to update my phone as well?

Check your PC maker's website... Go to support pages and look for an updated Bluetooth driver. While you are there, bite the bullet and get ALL the updates they have for your hardware drivers. There probably are many published after July 29, 2015...
Have a big download/install/reboot party.

My apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this post. In my opinion Bluetooth falls in the networking niche. Please move it to the appropriate thread if not. Thanks!

First off I want to thank you for any help you may provide and for this wonderfull website! This is my first post here as I am pretty tech savvy and don’t usually find myself in the position where I need to ask for help. With that being said I will get to the point of this post.

I recently bought a cell, a T-Mobile Sparq to be completely accurate, and tried to connect it to my laptop via Bluetooth. My laptop is an Asus G75VW which comes with BT capabilities. When I run the BT suite and click “Add a Device” it sits at the “Searching for a device.. Make sure your device is discoverable.” Prompt for as long as I let it without discovering my phone. I made sure my phone’s BT is active and discoverable. My next step was to go into my Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services> Services (Local) to make sure BT and its dependencies where active, which they were. I updated all my related drivers and when that didn’t work I un-installed and re-installed them, to no avail. I checked my device manager to make sure there were no conflicts there and found nothing. I then spent a few hours on Google troubleshooting and was not able to find anything that I had not already tried. That’s when I decided to drop this problem onto the genius minds of the Tech-Guy forums for if they can’t so... Read more

So my bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow, and i decided to make sure it was easy enough to hook up to windows on my macbook pro running windows 7 64 bit. it sees the headset, but says ' no drivers available'.

if i reboot the macbook into OS X, bluetooth works flawlessly and I can stream audio from the computer to the headset. its windows I'm having a problem with, and afraid I will have the same problem in Windows 10, which is what I am running on my desktop.

is there a Windows driver for the LG HBS-730 headset?

I want to stream game audio from the computer to the headset. Kind of sucks having to have Arkham City on super low volume, or wearing huge clunky headphones popular with WoW back in 2008.

Answer:LG HBS-730 bluetooth connection problem

Have you tried running the bluetooth adapter on a true Windows7 machine? Apps with drivers built for Win7 don't always work properly on Mac OS in boot camp or emulation mode.

Does the bluetooth adapter spec state that it's compatible with Mac OSX as well as Win7??

Answer:i had a problem about bluetooth connection in z400

hi Charles_xiang,

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you getting pairing issues?
 - if you are, can you provide the error

Also, try the following:
1. Enable the bluetooth by pressing the Windows logo key? +C > Change PC Settings > Wireless (left pane) and toggle Bluetooth to ON.
   - when finished, try to clear the paired devices on your phone and pair it again to the PC

2. If you have the Intel Centrino 2230 (Wi-Fi+Bluetooth) combo adapter, navigate to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel + WiFi bluetooth software.
   -when done, install the following:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8* (install this first)
    Intel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software for Windows 8*

-after installing, repeat Step 1 and observe

Let me know your findings.

I have just got an X121e and it cannot find any bluetooth devices. I have made sure the bluetooth in the laptop is on and checked the settings to enable it to be found and connected to, yet it cannot find either of the two mobiles I have tried to pair with it. Both the phones can find the laptop however, but the bluetooth connection fails. I've downloaded and installed the latest bluetooth driver from the Lenovo website. What else can I do? Is the problem the laptop, bluetooth, windows 7 or what?

Answer:X121e bluetooth connection problem

Hi

You need to install following drivers first

1. Hotkey Drivers
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014985

2. Access Connection

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-73682

After installation restart the system , Turn on the Wlan Radio Button , after windows is logged in Press Fn + F5 button to verify the Bluetooth and Wlan status .

Then Make your computer discoverable , so that it can be accessed by other devices

Hope This Helps
Cheers !!!

So, this is now driving me absolutely insane, and I couldn't have better chances for success (or so I think).
I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad W530 (Windows 8), and I have a Lumia 920 (Windows Phone 8). Seems pretty darn compatible, right?
Well my issue is simply "They will not connect or cooperate well"

Let me first say that through a blurry mashing of key presses and strange settings windows I have gotten the two to connect before for music control. But only twice.

The issue I have is apparently on both the phone and the computer-
When I tap connect on the phone, it stays connected for a few seconds, then disconnects.
When I try and connect on the laptop, it won't connect at all.
When I try and open the bluetooth device window, it stay open for a couple seconds and then closes.
Sometimes the music controller window appears, then disappears.

My phone doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it, I have restarted the phone completely with no effect.
The computer is under a month old with no driver issues or hardware issues, so it can't be that either.
What on earth am I doing wrong here? Why doesn't Windows (8) (and I hate saying this) have an efficient bluetooth connection service like Mac? connecting my phone to a Mac easier than easy. On windows it's nearly asking me to remove my hair strand by strand.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Dell studio 15 with Windows 7 and Bluetooth. I am trying to install Manhattan 2800 Bluetooth bookshelf speakers. They sometimes play but disconnect intermittently. When Bluetooth disconnects I have to completely shut down and start over. (I haven't been able to fix it with just Restart.)

Here is a clue:
In "devices and Printers" it shows the laptop as a device:
Studio 15 [properties]

Selecting: [Bluetooth L2CAP Interface] -- properties/General
"Device status
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Selecting: [Bluetooth Hands free audio] -- properties
Driver= Broadcom Corp, 7/1/2009,6.2.0.9500
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware compatibility Publisher.

The speaker documentation indicates Bluetooth v1.2, class 2 and A2DP protocol support

The Bluetooth icon on the bar at the bottom of the desktop disappears when the connection breaks while looking at properties.

This might be related -- I also have a Kensington Bluetooth trackball mouse that has intermittent problems with connecting at start-up. When the mouse doesn't work at start-up, I can usually make it work by removing its batteries and putting them back.

Advice will be appreciated,
Stan Hilliard

Answer:Intermittant problem with new bluetooth connection

You could consider getting a USB based Bluetooth adapter exclusively for your speakers. One that supports A2DP would be perfect.

Here are a few:

Amazon.com: IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421): Electronics

Please can anyone advise what I need to do or what I'm doing wrong....I've bought a new laptop, which is connected to (AOL) broadband via a Netgear wireless router. There are also two telephones in the house, both of which require ADSL filters attached at the phone sockets in order for the phones to work. However....it mucks up the phones, as when the phone rings, only one phone rings and the ringing tone is very strange!?If I remove one of the filters, then the phones revert to working as normal, but then broadband connection doesn't operate with only one filter?I've contacted BT but there is no problem with the telephone line their end.Can anyone help please!?

Answer:Wireless/Phone Connection Problem!

I think the ADSL filters are mainly to isolate your voice calls from your BB. If you remove the filter you may get noises on your voice calls but I would expect the BB to work. All telephone lines have a maximum number of pieces of equipment you can use. It's called the REN (Ring Equivalent Number). If you've exceeded this then you may get problems. Each piece of equipment should tell you on it's lable what the REN is and just add then together. I don't know if ADSL filters have a REN value. I'm sure someone elses will! Add them all up and ask Bt if you've exceeded the REN for your circuit.

Hi all. I own a sony ericsson w850i and before I formatted my laptop everything was working fine. After I have formatted it, I tried connecting with bluetooth, but my laptop never finds the phone, I installed all necessary drivers but to no avail. I then tried connecting using a usb cable, but that too fails and it doesn't pick up the phone, however it picks up that the phone is connected etc, just that the software will say no phone is found to connect. I can however access other bluetooth services like the headset, or using the remote control feature, but that's using the standard bluetooth software. Does anyone know what's wrong? I've used both the sony ericsson pc suite and the my phone explorer. Before the format my phone explorer picks the phone up straight away. I don't know what's wrong now. Thanks for any advice.

Hi I have connected the microsoft wedge mouse and a bluetooth headset to my yoga. I am having the following problems 1, Mouse - at certain times the mouse icon start flashing and moving around haphazardly - as i move the mouse the mouse icon moves very irregularly as if there is interferance between transmission of laptop and mouse - this last for a few seconds and then returns back to normal2, Bluetooth audio - whilst playing a video on youtube the mouse cuts for half to 1 sec at various points. This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver.  Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers.  Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

When using cortana on my band 2 it always comes up as turn on blue tooth or make sure its connected. I just recently decided to switch to the Microsoft platform because I could use cortana with my voice and band 2. I went through hell and back trying to convert my android info into the Microsoft eco system. I don't know why im so determined and stubborn to keep trying with Microsoft. Your products on paper seem so superior but in reality are sub par. The only reason I switched to a microsoft phone was the voice connectivity with cortana. What I found is that the band worked better with android as well as all the other apps that are cross functional. Why on earth does a Microsoft product have so many issues talking with its own brand. I think i'm returning the phone and possibly even the band, even after returning to the store 5 times and wasting so much of my time. I'm disappointed Microsoft, yet will probably still keep trying your products, why why why./

I really don't know why and how I came to this solution but it worked. When you open the case you can see on the front left side the wires for Bluetooth and Wifi. On my M900 the two wires for Main and Aux where connected in the wrong order. After inverting the order of the two cables, Wifi and Bluetooth worked without problems. In the picture you can see the correct wiring.

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Cannot setup dial-up connection.
The modem works - responds to query.
(Tested with windows fax utility, can send and receive faxes)
I want to setup dial up connection (for area with bad wireless/cable) - but get "error 633".
Problems started when someone tried to configure something (probably did it wrong); altered setting for services _or maybe_ deleted some windows files.
Remote Access Diagnostic Report is here: http://tiny.cc/dialup100

Modem using port 28. Diagnostic Test succeeded.
Dial up networking settings screen shots are here: http://tiny.cc/l8sxyw
When clicking "connect" the 633 error comes up immediately.
More details:
OS Windows 7.
Restore points unavailable.
Connection via Cable just fine.
No Malware or Virus Issue.
I ran SFC /SCANNOW. Verification 100% complete. "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".
I ran Tweaking.com - Windows Repair - didn't help.

Is there someone who knows which files and services are needed / or a workaround to only [manually] install windows files necessary for internet dial-up connection ?

Answer:Problem with internet dial-up connection. The Modem and phone line work.

Have you contaced your ISP?  Some use a script to set up a working dialup connection for customers.

I have a brand new lenovo R61i 7650-E8G. I have uninstalled some of the preistalled free-trial software (including antivirus software).  When I try to establish a vpn connection via Windows vpn I get a bluescreen with the following message: stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, *0xA74CC5D8*, 0x00000000). Also, when I try to connect to the internet through my cell phone I get a bluescreen with the following message (both with bluetooth and usb cable):stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, *0xA62DC5D8*, 0x00000000). I receive the bluescreen every time, the number *0x________* is different from time to time.  With my previous laptop (DELL Inspiron 6400) I did not experience these problems and windows vpn connection and internet connection through cell phone worked without any problems. I am confused what to do? Please help..

Answer:bluescreen 0x0000008E when try to establish vpn connection or internet connection using cell phone

Hi, unfortunately I can't give you any advice, because I'm stuck with exactly the same problem. I've tested it with different VPN Types (PPTP, L2TP) and different VPN-Servers without any success. The VPN is established successfully, but when Windows recieves it's network configuration it stops with a BlueScreen and 0x0000008e. According to your cell phone issue, it seems that it is only related to the mechanism that assigns network settings provided by ppp, and not by the network drivers. It can be reproduced by using WLAN and LAN with chipsets and device drivers from different vendor. I hope that someone from Lenovo Support Team reads this posting.Message Edited by flaiti on 10-23-2008 03:59 AM

Hi,

I really had not this 'Bluetooth connection' before.
But, I really don't know that pairing my Nokia Bluetooth with my HP Laptop Bluetooth would add this Bluetooth connection or NOT.
I really guess this Bluetooth Connection was listed there when I connected my Lapotp Bluetooh with Nokia Bluetooth.
Thus, I will really not have any problems if I deleted it. But I am asking you what benefit of that Bluetooth Connection.
This is below was not here:

Finally Could please let me know how to use this Bluetooth Connection.(How to benefit from it)? I really use an ADSL Internet subscription, and not Dial-up connection. Also, I am connected wirelessly to a Modem-Router. Thus, what password and username should I type in the fields in the above screen shot?

Answer:'Bluetooth connection' is shown in my Network Connection suddnly.

Pairing a mobile phone will create such an entry and there's nothing to worry about. I don't think you can use it to go online since as you said you are using ADSL and if you want to go online via your modem with your phone just use the wifi connection

Hello.I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to mobile phones. After acquiring one and getting one of my mates to show me how to work the bluetooth thing and get on to the internet on it I thought - 'can I link the phone to a laptop via bluetooth and get on to the internet on the laptop itself'?In my mind it should be possible and hence I could have the internet wherever I go.Am I right? What kind of features should I be looking for in a laptop to enable me to do this?My phone, by the way, is a Sony Ericsson W300i and the laptop I'm intending to buy will have Vista Home Premium on it.Thanks!

In device manager you should see "Bluetooth modem" just change your IE connection to us that.HOWEVER it is very expensive to use a mobile to connect to the internet.

Answer:bluetooth - pc to mobile phone

You will need a bluetooth "dongle" for your computer to allow it to connect with your phone. These will cost you about £10 from a computer shop or somewhere like Argos.Once installed, you should be able to make a connection with your phone through Windows.See if there is any software which came with your phone or downloadable from the manufacturers website as this will be the best way to connect and transfer using bluetooth.

Also, are the usb adaptors as good as the pci cards?

As I know most of the Bluetooth can not fix to many kind of mobile phone, except you order it from Motorlla phone. In my country they were made by China, so If I was you when I wanna get it, I go to and test it at shops. If they work together Your wonders to be done.

I paired my Nokia 630 to New Bluetooth receiver in my car (connecting to the AUX). It worked fine, but if I try to call or receive a call that only goes through the phone.
Before I connected directly to the AUX, and I had phone calls out on the car stereo.
Is this the way it is? Or is there something I can change or fix?

Go to settings ---> Bluetooth . Click Advanced, Check "Use an alternative Bluetooth Audio connection for speech" . That should fix it.

In fact, it worked better with Bluetooth than it did with the USB connection. After receiving a hard drive from Dell with the Vista Dell Basic operating system image on it and set my system up again along with all my programs and downloaded and installed the Mobile Device Center 6.1 from the Microsoft site. I synced pocket PC phone up with usb and had no problems. I set up my bluetooth and it connected with no problems. (I have a Bluetooth mouse that I set up and it works perfectly.) The Mobile Device Center partnership with bluetooth will not work. When I select ActiveSync and select Menu/Sync with Bluetooth, the Mobile center does not recognize the PPC phone. I see no response from the Mobile Device Center at all. I would like to use my Huawei G300 Ascend Android smartphone to get internet access for my laptop when I'm not within range of a WiFi hotspot. Preferably I would like to do this wirelessly (via Bluetooth or WiFi).
I have successfully (I thhink) paired my phone with my PC, but I don't understand how to set up a connection with my phone so it will act as a wide area broadband modem.
If I go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Devices and Printers I can asee my phone under devices. It looks sort of greyed out. If I right click on it and select Properties, and then select the Services tab, no services are shown (see attachment).
A related question: is it bettwer to connect to the phone using Bluetooth, or using the phone's "personal hotspot" feature? Why?
Thanks - Rowan

Answer:Using bluetooth phone as modem

Set your phone up as a "hotspot" then on your wireless connections on your laptop you will see the name of your phone as a wireless connection ... connect to this which will then give you internet access, make sure your phone provider doesn't charge you extra for "tethering"

Hi, I'm new to these forums, hope some one can advise.

I have just installed the new RC version of Win 7 and getting to grips with it and along the way discovering which software or existing applications will run on/with the new OS, so far not that many problems and Win 7 has XP mode/virtulisation, a very good application but something to be wary of IMO.

My problem lays with my Nokia N 95 8gb phone.

There are no more firmware updates for my phone, but I use the Nokia software to make back ups of my phone contents to my PC, again no problems, under Windows XP home or under Win 7.

I have the most recent Nokia software but am running into problems under Win 7, my Belkin bluetooth dongle and my phone can no longer find each other.

What I do get sometimes is a window informing me some Bluetooth peripheral is missing or can't be found, basically there are some drivers missing but I'm not sure if it's in the nokia software/updater or Win 7, iIf I try to update drivers, I can't boxes are greyed out.

The next issue and I guess connected to the above and a lot more troublesome for me is I use my phone a lot as a camera and upload my pictures using a Belkin Bluetooth dongle, never had a problem until today,

I can not get the phone to recognise or connect to the dongle or vice versa under WIN 7, I cannot transfer a photo from my phone to my PC using Bluetooth, the phone informs me of a failed connection.

The dongle firmware has been updated.

Not a problem I thought, I'... Read more

Hi...

I have a Dell XPS M1330, the bluetooth drivers of which were detected automatically by Windows Update during installation of Win 7 (Dell Truemobile 355 Module + EDR along with Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator).

In XP, there was an option of 'My Bluetooth Places' from where I could connect using 'Obex File Transfer' to my Sony Ericsson W890i, and could use it like any other drive for transfer of files to and from it.

Is this not possible under Windows 7? How do I explore my phone via bluetooth?

Thanks,
JaX

Answer:Help with Bluetooth Phone Explore

In Network and sharing....click Change adapter settings (left hand pane). right-click Bluetooth Network connection, then View Bluetooth Network Devices...

If your devices are set to visible then W7 should detect it.

As I understand it, I should be able to link my new Win8 touch screen notebook (Asus X202e) with my Android cel phone (Moto Droid X2) so that I can quickly and easily exchange photos and files - I think I should be able to see the entire contents of one device on the other?

Anyway, I've successfully set up my Bluetooth, 'found' my cel phone, paired it to my PC and made the connection. I can 'see' the phone on the computer (Win8 says it's working correctly) but I can't see anything on the phone on my PC nor the other way round

I watched a simple 'how to' on Youtube and it showed a desktop icon for the phone and when they clicked on that it showed every folder on the phone and you could search through the phone on your desktop and request any file you liked to be transferred. I don't have that icon, nor can I figure out how to create it. I found the shared folders, but they are empty, probably because I can't figure out how to transfer anything from PC to phone or the other way

TIA for any tips - Obviously, I'm overlooking something simple, as usual!

Answer:Bluetooth & Cell Phone

I have a different Android phone than your's .
With that said when your phone is paired with the computer you can transfer file's between each other but to look threw all the folders and stuff on the phone with your computer you will need some software on the phone , with that said I use a program called Webkey for Android it works with the browser on your computer but I think you have to have your phone rooted to use it, there are other app's on the Google play store that do the same thing

Oh to transfer file's with no app . On your computer right click on a file that you want on the phone and pick "send to" and one of the options will be "send to bluetooth" (or something looking similar to that) and on your phone long press on the file you want send to the computer and something similar will come up . It's been a while since I have had to do that I can't think of the name right now. As long as you are paired this should work

hello all.

Ive been having trouble with my bluetooth connection. Whenever i attempt to double click my phone icon in the devices menu to view its bluetooth connection options, i get a message saying:

"an error occurred when initializing this operation. Try restarting your computer and/or the Bluetooth device. "

so, what i see so far:

-the phone successfully pairs with my computer
-each device can see each other

but they cannot interact.

the phone however will connect and interact with other bluetooth devices.

ive double checked many times, my drivers are all there and up to date.
(also used driver genius to check this)

also, whenever i start my computer, i always get the message: "ERROR: unable to start bluetooth stack service"

any ideas what's going on here?

thanks.

USB is a host controlled technology. When a PC and printer are connected by USB it is the USB Host Controller in the PC which runs the connection. If a USB Bluetooth Adapter was connected directly to a printer, there would be no USB Host Controller - it wouldn't work.

Is there one standard blue tooth that can work with most all cell phones?

If not, what is the best out there, where do you get them, and what price did you pay?

Thanks!

Answer:What is the best bluetooth to get for a cell phone?

Hi

I assume you mean a Blue tooth Headset, if so prices will vary from how they look to who makes them and how long you get on things like standby time and talk time, i was bought a plantronics one by the kids for xmas and it works great and lasts for a long time and it was about £20.

If however you want to pose with a designer model then expect to pay upto £100 for one.

Ask around the people you know who have one and see what they say.

Having discovered I can download photos from a Bluetooth phone on my HP 8250 printer, I purchased the relevant HP Dongle. Software was installed and Dongle plugged in. Dongle immediately started flashing indicating ready for transfer. Printer did not recognize Bluetooth phone and phone indicated No Bluetooth device found.Checking Device Manager confirmed Dongle installed and indicated device working correctly. HP online helpful and Advised to check passkey was correct, Security set to low and also Visible to all. Passkey set to default 0000. File type was also confirmed as OK. Still nothing works. Bluetooth in Control Panel on PC indicates Bluetooth Device not found.Just to rub salt in the wound, son came down with his phone and Anonymous dongle, plugged in and immediately printed off a photo from his phone to my printer.Have reinstalled in effort to resolve matter, but no joy. Okay so my friend's using TELUS for his cell phone service, but I'm using Rogers. He said he's limited on using the Bluetooth because TELUS & Rogers both "locked" it so you can't transfer certain files like Ring Tones - and I overheard some people saying because of this lock, TELUS cannot recieve any media files from a Roger's bluetooth & vice-versa.

If this is true (which I hope it isn't - I haven't had time to meet up with that friend to test), is there any way to unlock it? I'd love to share some pictures & ringtones w/ my friends. And put in some custom wallpaper on my phone too.

On my Vista 64 bit laptop I'm able to browse files on my Motorola Hint using Bluetooth 2.1 However on my Win7 Home Premium 32 bit netbook, I don't have that option. Both are using Widcomm Bluetooth software and both are Bluetooth 2.1.

Notice the difference in operating systems from the attachments.

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that Widcomm/Broadcom don't have any updated Windows 7 drivers.

Has anyone been able to successfully browse files from their phone using the Widcomm/Broadcom Bluetooth stack? Is there another Bluetooth stack that works better?

I have a Centrino laptop running Win XP Pro and a mobile phone (Sony Ericsson T39m...yeah, I know it's a bit old now but it's small and it works), both with IR and bluetooth capability.

Firstly, could someone run through how to set up a bluetooth connection so I can synch my Outlook 2000 contacts with the phone. I have done this once before but can't remember how I did it (which is very frustrating) and I had to completely re-install the OS so any settings I'd originally slaved over have disappeared.

Secondly, on many occasions when I need to connect to the internet there's no wifi access, so it would be useful to connect via the mobile phone. How do I set up the IR and bluetooth connections to allow this - using both dial-up modem access and GPS/GPRS access.

I've followed various instructions (that's a slightly generous description) in the phone and laptop manuals but can't seem to get it to work.

Many thanks.

So I have a Lenovo Z480 and just installed Windows 10 on it. I used to have Win7 earlier and i'm still using the same drivers. I tried Connecting my Samsung Galaxy S4 to it via Bluetooth and It woudnt even detect it. It detects other laptops around it though.
My phone also doesn't seem to detect the laptop but detects others.

Any ideas? Please help.

Thanks

I hope I have the right forum here.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 that I recently clean installed windows vista on after getting a bad Trojan Horse.

Since the clean install, I've been unable to send pictures from my phone via bluetooth to my computer. I was able to do this before the clean install.

I have "allow bluetooth devices to connect to this computer" checked as well as "allow bluetooth devices to find this computer". My phone also shows up in my devices under network and sharing......bluetooth.

I have everything set up. My phone is paired with my computer but when I try to send a picture from phone to comp via bluetooth, I get the message on my phone "transfer failed".

I also have NIS 2009 on this laptop and connect through a wireless router. The only difference from before the clean install as far as the router is concerned is that I now have the router secured using WPA-2. I have no idea if that would effect bluetooth at all but I would assume not.

Any ideas?

I just bought a Samsung A437 phone and an Azio Bluetooth dongle. According to the phone's manual, I should be able to connect to the phone to download photos, but the Bluetooth software can't detect the phone. Any ideas?

Hey, I recently received a Sony Erricson T610, and a Bluetooth dongle to use with my PC. I have paired the devices and used many of the features available, such as sharing pictures and themes, I have also taken advantage of floAt's Mobile Agent. I recently downloaded an app which would allow you to connect to MSN Messenger using my phone. But I was wondering if it was possible to connect my phone to the Internet using my Bluetooth dongle, so I would not have to use T-Mobile's Internet connection, which can be VERY expensive on PAYG. If anyone has any information on possible ways to do this, or if it is not possible, could you please reply to this article, would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Vince

Just to get it out of the way: I have embedded Bluetooth in my laptop working fine, and Windows pairs with the CU500 and detects its modem fine. It can dial the magic number, *99***1#, but it gives the generic Error 720: "A connection to the remote computer could not be established."

I've managed to get this same connection working in Ubuntu-- thanks to this page's pppd settings and dial-up script -- but Windows of course uses a completely different scripting syntax, so I can't re-use that.

My phone's Cingular-branded(which obviously is AT&T now, but I found these first), so I entered these in Windows' Dial-up connection:
user name: [email protected]
password: cingular1

But, since I get an Error 720 if I just try dialing *99***1# with those credentials, I have to tell it I want the APN "wap.cingular" somehow, too. I think checking the "Run script" option under the 'Security' tab in the Dial-up connection's Properties is my best bet, but I don't know how to write one.

[Just in case that website goes down, or anything, my version of his script I use on Linux is this:]

# Modem init
'' ATZ

# Selection of the PDP Context (eg here you choose which of the data connections
# set on the phone you want to use). The parameters are CID, protocol (IP or PPP),
# APN. If your provider gives you a string, use that one (with the right CID).
OK='AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.cing... Read more

I have a sony erickson z500a cell phone that I'm trying to get themes and ringtones on. I contacted them and they said I could send it by inrared (not on my laptop) or by bluetooth. My Computer has "My Bluetooth Devices" so I'm assuming my laptop is bluetooth ready.

So what do I need to get so I can send the themes from my laptop to my cell through Bluetooth? Something to conect to the phone OR do I need something for the latop itself?

Thanks
