McAfee Suite Problem following IE7

Question: McAfee Suite Problem following IE7

A friend of mine has asked me to help her with her Mcafee installation. She has a section on this I believe entitled Privacy and since upgrading to IE7 she has had a message pop up on start-up informing her that this section is not working properly. I have rolled back her computer to IE6 but the message now persists. Does the Mcafee disc include a repair option? Can one remove and reinstall just that part of the Mcafee suite?Anyone else experienced this problem?

Preferred Solution: McAfee Suite Problem following IE7

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: McAfee Suite Problem following IE7

Have you tried installing McAfee again after you have IE7 already installed ?Think i would run Ccleaner after install to get rid of all the bits, then install again

Hi.Can anybody out there help me?All was well with my pC until shortly after installing Mcafee Security Suite 2007. I now continualy get an error message that reads SAService Application has encountered a problemand needs to close. If anyone uot there knows what is causing the problem and is able to recommend how to resolve it I would be grateful.I run XP home edition.Thank you.Leadwellie.

Answer:Problem with Mcafee Internet Security Suite 2007

Hi leadwellieI ran the 2006 suite with endless problems and at the end of the day was glad to be rid of it but during that time never got a reference to SAService application.I've just had a look at the Mcafee site and notice that Site Advisor (could that be SAService application) is now integral with the 2007 suite. It was not in the 2006 suite. You could try uninstalling just the site advisor element to see if that has any effect. You should,in fact be able to uninstall and reinstall each element of the suite separately.Sorry to say I found the suite overbloated with elements I did not need.It would continually have activeX problems and it added about eight items to my start up menu which really slowed things down.

I followed the general "windows-xp cleaning procedure" to clean my machine, since then I was not able to access either Mcafee web page or update their software (provided by comcast). I thought I will try to uninstall and do a clean reinstall, now the message I am getting is "You need to restart the computer before you can install any Mcafee software", I tried this couple of times still getting the same message. Can someone point me in the right direction, greatly appreciate your help

That is a good indication that malware is at play.

You should work the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Question: Mcafee AV Suite

A word of advice to all my friends, here, at Seven Forums. I have Mcafee AV Suite, as my AV protection. I use it only because it is included free by my ISP, ATT. Well, it automatically updated, then indicated that it had to shut down. It asked to restart, now. Well, I said yes. Mcafee shut down my computer. When it booted up, all my side gadgets were gone. I went to search so I could reinstall, well it was hosed. I had to use system restore to roll back. When Mcafee, asked again to reinstall the updates and asked to shut down, I said no, and did it myself. Well, the computer restarted with no problems.
Bottom line, if you are using Mcafee and you have to shut down and it asks for permission, say no. Restart the computer, yourself.

I have a Windows XP w/IE7, media center edition, Dell, which came with McAfee Security Center 7.2 on it. It has expired and is not updated, although still on.

I want to eliminate McAfee and go to free programs. I'm thinking Avast for AV and I don't know which firewall to use yet.

I have Spybot, Adaware SE, and Super Antispyware.

How do I remove McAfee? Should I load the AV and firewalls, before or after removing McAfee? Any other suggestions? I am not very technical.

Thanks,

My new computer arrives soon, and when I ordered it, I received a 12 month subscription to Mcafee (Non-Trial) for free. I'm getting AV, Firewall, and Spamkiller. So how does this software perform compared to the stuff I'm using now, like AVG and ZoneAlarm? Should I keep it, or should I just get rid of it?

I ask because I used to have Norton.. enough said.

Answer:Mcafee Security Suite

Personally, I have had only a minor issue with McAfee wanting to verify my subscription a little too often.....other than that its good. I would use it over AVG.
I'd say use it for the year, and then dump it (IF you are a seasoned computer user)...then switch to something else - say NOD32 and the last free version of kerio [2.1.5].

If your not computer savvy, use zonealarm, and stay with McAfee.

I need to help my relative cleanup and setup things better, maybe

Apparently the computer is slooow, and I've read the tutorials here about that and have a pretty good idea what to do, having used them already for myself. If I'm wrong you'll see further pleas for help.

Already there is, I've been told, McAfee security suite or some close name to that.
If I were to add SpywareBlaster, will it help or conflict?

What's the simplest thing to kill spam in future emails? I believe that is a problem as well. And I'd like to know whether existing emails in Outlook Express (or perhaps Outlook, I'm not sure) can be scanned somehow for trash.

Not only I'd like to get few answers, I'd like to have some by about noon tomorrow, PLEASE, if possible.
I know it's asking a lot with a time deadline, so I apologize for this imposition in advance.

Answer:Do Mcafee Suite And Spywareblaster Like Each Other?

I don't know the answer to your first question but I doubt there would be any conflicts...however, I don't know for sure but someone else will.As far as spam in Outlook goes your best bet is to uninstall outlook and switch to Mozilla Thunderbird. It is an amazing product. I switched over to it for security purposes from Outlook Express and never looked back. The spam filters are incredible and I guarantee after a few days your spam will be reduced by about 95%, if you train the filter properly of course... It also has the look and feel of outlook in many ways so you'll instantly be comfortable with it. Here is a download link with info:Thunderbird Download and InfoHere is a link on how to setup Thunderbird to eliminate spam effectively, without deleting valid emails. It's about Netscape but sets up the same way:Thunderbird Spam FilterHere is a link to a Thunderbird FAQ:Thunderbird FAQI tried and tired with Outlook Express but always ended up getting tons of spam and I already get about 50 valid emails a day...I finally decided it wasn't worth it and I really think switching is your simplest option.hope this helps.

McAfee services: VirusScan, Personal Firewall Plus, SecurityCenter, System Guards, Backup & Restore, and Privacy ServiceI have worked on a few of the comcast customer's computers running this, the computers were a little older and this software really slowed them down, but every scan came up squeaky clean.I would unload all the services I could before doing any routine maintenance like disk cleanup or defrag.Adding any extra protection to this seems like it would be asking for trouble? I was wondering if anyone knew of a free, but obviously reliable anti-virus program that I could download. My McAfee Internet Suite 2005 will be expiring in a few days and I want to stay protected. I've been told by a number of folks that the McAfee programs can be real resource hogs....and I'm starting to believe it.
ANY recommendations are always welcome.

Hi,

I'm trying to remove McAfee internet suite 2005 and even McAfee are having problems!!

I'm stuck on deleting the mcvsshl.dll file and the shlres file as there are either in use or rights protected.

I've tried every which way, safe mode, non safe mode, from the registry, from the task manager and nothing seems to works. Even McAfee internet support don't know.

Can anybody help- why did I buy this blinkin software!!

Answer:McAfee internet suite 2005

Hiya and welcome

Are you still having this problem? If so, have you made sure that you've disabled the Internet Suite near your clock? Also, it may be starting behind the scenes, so to speak, so lets take a look at your startup list:

Go to Start | Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs
Copy/paste the list here.

Also, did you uninstall Mcafee using the AddRemove program in Control Panel?

Sometimes the files may be in use if they're used by other programs, but we'll see if the above helps first

Regards

eddie

Hi guys, I am trying to install the mcafee suite provided by comcast but everytime I run the installer, nothing happens. What I did was download the suite and after that its supposed to be installing automatically. But since nothing happens, I went to my temp folder to access the downloaded files. And I double click the installer but still wont open.

Any ideas why is this happening? I just installed windows xp in my pc (clean install) and install the updates and drivers etc. Its a clean system but I can't run the installer. I also tried this to my other pc (win2000) and it has a same result.

Contacting comcast mcaffee does not help me. So guys, what do you think is the problem? Thx a lot!!

Is McAfee Internet Security Suite a good antivirus software? It came with my new laptop. Is this software enough or should I download third party security software?

Answer:McAfee Internet Security Suite

How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)
Affected Operating Systems: Includes Microsoft Windows 8

If this is a NEW computer, then all you have is a Sample version ........
Windows 8 has an Antivirus program Pre-installed, so this is not required.
Usually you remove this and replace it with your own choice of a paid version Antivirus, or just use the default Windows Defender program. Free versions are not required.
If you decide to keep McAfee longer than 3 months, you are usually charged for it.

Follow steps 1 and 2 to fully remove the program from your computer -
1.Uninstall your McAfee home user products using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel:
Windows 8 Users
a.Close all McAfee program windows.
b.In the Start screen, type Programs and Features. (If it is not visible, click Settings in the list on the right.)
c.Click Programs and Features in the list on the left.
d.Select McAfee SecurityCenter.
e.Click Uninstall and follow any on-screen prompts.

2.Download and run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal (MCPR) tool:

a.Download the MCPR tool from: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe and save it to a folder on your computer (or to Desktop).IMPORTANT: The MCPR tool is updated periodically when new products and updates are released. Always download a new copy of the MCPR tool before using it to uninstall your product.

When I bought my latest Dell laptop, it came with a 3 year subscription to McAfee Security Suite. While I still have more than two years left on this subscription, I was wondering what was the experience of others who may have had an extended program of this nature -- i.e., may I expect McAfee to automatically renew at the end of one year, or should I expect them to put me through a bunch of exercises to move into the second and then the third year. I am still a couple of months away from the one year period and so may be overly concerned, but I was just curious about the experience of others that may have had a three year subscription to McAfee and if they were forced to jump through a bunch of hoops to access the full three years.

Thanks,
Red Boy

Answer:McAfee Security Suite: Renewal

I'm not sure what you mean by a bunch of hoops, but do expect to possibly have to uninstall and reinstall if they make a major change in the engine. Otherwise you may need some updates from time to time but that's not a big deal.

A year ago i bought mcafee internet security suite 2006 and now my subscription has expired. i need to renew but its giving me 2 options:OPTION 1: NEW!McAfee Internet Security Suite$39.99 approx 22orOPTION 2: Content Renewal$34.99 approx 19Option 1, The NEW! internet security suite is the 2007 version and im presuming its the full software program which as far as I know I dont ned to re-install as I already have the 2006 version installed? If this is correct then, all I need to do is renew my subscription and pay for option 2 which doesn't entail any software installation but merely continues my subscription for another 12 months with DAT updates?Having said that, my intial purchase of the full internet security suite included 12 months updates of virus protection, spam filters etc - by renewing option 2 (content renewal) does this include updates for all security features or just the anti-virus protection? This may seem a simple procedure to some but having only protected my laptop for the last 12 months you can understand I'm not exactly a computer wizard. The other alternative is to buy the Full suite software package again for 45Any help would be appreciated.ThanksDean

Hi to all,
am having numerous problems with my PC but this one is particularly annoying as I have only just bought the latest McAfee suite(OEM type) and was hoping for some peace. All seemed fine but then 2or 3 days ago a little yellow icon appeared in my taskbar saying my pC is not protected. When I clicked on it I tried to fix the problem as laid out in the window but keeps saying no updates available, yet is saying that the detection signature file is between 8 and 29 days old.I found a few related items, these mentioned adjusting registry keys but I didn't want to do that if I could help it, although I had a look into the registry in regedit.I did notice in services.msc that in the list shown, McAfee update manager had been stopped and set to manual; I changed this to start and set it to automatic but every time I go back to the list it is manual again and stopped. Can anyone help???

Answer:Can't download comcast McAfee suite

This sounds like an issue you need to address with comcast. However, if you think it is somehow related to malware, you need to do the following:
Please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST link given futher down and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
If you have problems where no tools seem to run, please try following the steps given in the below and then continue on no matter what you find. You only need to try the TDSSserv steps if having problems getting scans in the Read & Run Me First. If TDSSserv is not found, just continue on with the READ & RUN ME.

TDSSserv Non-Plug & Play Driver Disable

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
Helpful Notes:
If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

OK, this is a long story but I'm gonna need help. I wanted to try out McAfee software for 30 days to see if I should actually pay for it or not, so I download it, install it, everythings fine. I reboot my computer to this

"One of the ActiveShield components is Missing or was not installed properly
<<Path to File>>"

(Sorry no screenshots or paths were written down ), anyways I tried to uninstall it, I looked in the directory in the start menu in the Add/Remove programs control panel applet. Nothing!

So I boot into safemode to attempt to use KillBox to delete both directories, then use HijakThis + Sys. Mech 4 to get rid of old registry entries. That idea failed, everytime I open HJT the entries simply reappear. The files are gone obviously.

Now I wouldn't have noticed this until someone IM'd me saying
"Mac, you're servers runnin really slow" (Its a halo dedi by the way), so the way I'm thinking of it is this

It's trying to load files that it can't, and exhausting all the resources until it can load them.
I only say the suite because I actually downloded the suite, but only installed McAfee Virus Scan v10 from the suite.
What can I use to get the McAfee registry entries out of my registry for good!?
What am I looking for?

I'm trying to Network my house through a wireless router. I have 2 desktops and one notebook

I have all the workgroups named the same. I've turned off all of the firewalls in addition to opening them wide open. I can't help but think it has something to do with the McAfee suite. I checked the allow the local lan box in the security settings. Activate the sharing controls within windows as well. I don't know where to turn.

Oh yeah, I can communicate between the 2 desktops but neither one can communicate with the notebook. One desktop is XP pro, one is 2000 and the notebook is XP Media Center (I know that's not ideal).

Any suggestions?

I have recently installed McAfee Internet Security Suite and since then have had problems with both email and Internet connection. Just one of my 5 email addresses duplicates or triplicates each email I receive (Tiscali - but the problem does not seem to be there). I now have problems sending emails. Also since installing McAfee my Internet connection has slowed down considerably and it takes way longer to boot my computer up. Connecting to the Internet and then Outlook Express can take 5 minutes. I have a broadband connection and Windows XP. Anyone else have these problems and any remedies? I am totally unable to contact McAfee about the problems - their help site does not work.

I just got an Acer Netbook. It came with lots of junk I want to remove including McAfee Internet Security Suite ver105221. I have not activated the subscription but believe I may be getting antivrus protection. I want to unistall the whole program.

I believe I should uninstall from control panel and then use the McAfree removal tool on their site MCPR.exe Is that correct? Does it matter that i didn't(and dont want to) activate the program? Anything else i should do?

Thsank you!

Answer:Uninstall McAfee Internet Security Suite

It doesn't matter if it is activated or not. It is probably a free trial. The removal procedure, as you describe it, is correct. Use add remove, run the removal tool, and reboot. Presumably you have another product with which to replace it.

Good afternoon all, In reviewing the various resources here related to recommended anti-malware products (free), I am inclined to download & try out the Spywareblaster product. My question is this: I presently have McAfee AV software (provided free by my ISP), as well as, the FREE Malwarebytes version on my computer [a Dell Dimension 3000 mid tower model, running WIN XP, SP3]. Are there any known or possible problems which could arise by utilizing Spywareblaster?Thank you for your time and review of my inquiry!

Answer:Having McAfee Security Suite & Spywareblaster on same computer

There should be no conflicts.SpywareBlaster is a program that restricts the actions of potentially dangerous sites by adding a list of sites and domains associated with known spyware, advertisers and marketers to the browser's "Restricted Sites Zone". SpywareBlaster also prevents the installation of ActiveX-based malware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software amd blocks tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and any browsers that use the Internet Explorer engine such as AOL web browser, Avant Browser, Slim Browser and Maxthon (formerly MyIE2) and provides protection for Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Seamonkey, and Flock. How does SpywareBlaster work? It adds sites to the restricted zones by adding the domain as a subkey under the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains. A dword is then added to that domain named * and given a hex value of 4 to specify that it is part of the Restricted Sites Zone. More specifically, Spywareblaster sets the "killbit" on the CLSID (Class ID) of known spyware. Every program has a CLSID that is unique to the type of program. Once Spywareblaster enables (writes) those killbits they are "locked in" and any identified spyware cannot be opened. Spywareblaster writes these killbits in and then stays off until you need to re-write them again with an update. Why is all this important? Some types... Read more

Hi Guch. . .

Good to see you again back here at the Tech Support Forum.

What exactly is the problem that you are having? Also, is the issue with Spaywareblaster 4 or with Spyware Doctor 5.5 or all?

One thing that I can tell you is that running more than one installed anti-virus package often leads to one labelling the other's files(s) as viral - a false positive. They are in competition.

Hello,
First let me explain my problem, I bought McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006 because my older one expired. I installed MCAfee without Uninstalling the older version but then again it over-wrote the older one so everything is fine right? Wrong I cant register my McAfee Products so now I cant get any DAT updates! One of my friends suggested to re-install McAfee and I thoguht that might work but the worst possible thing can happen has happened! I cant uninstall McAfee Directly because they dont have a uninstaller, Add/remove Programs ain't helkping because that stuffed up and currently get it fixed! I searched google and BC and across a progam called MCAfee Uninstaller from Tg1191! Thanks Mate!! But it did clean up some old files but didn;t uninstall McAfee!! So does anyone know some good methods or even some good programs that would uninstall the whole McAfee lot for good so that I can reinstall it?

Thanking you in advance

Look in device manager and check to see if everything is OK
you can roll back the driver or update it from there.

Can anyone recommend free security downloads to replace my macafee security suite. On one of your pages I read that the ones recommended are better and less resourse hungry. So far I've downloaded avast antivirus and comodo firewall pro as recommended, but I'm not sure what else, if anything is needed. For instance on my Macafee suite I also have a 'privacy service' and a 'spamkiller' - are these also included in the free downloads mentioned or do I need some others? Also, if they are included can I safely uninstall the rest of my Macafee security suite now?

Thanks in anticipation.

This is one of the major flaws with McAfee Total Protected which, as of Aug 2009, still remains to be an issue for many owners. There was some conversation among McAfee forum administrators that the ability to manage the ?Trusted Programs? list would be added (back) to their Total Protection suite, prior to the release of Microsoft IE 8. Obviously, McAfee did not keep that promise.

Without this ability, McAfee *will* mark legitimate applications (files / programs) as POTENTIALLY UNWANTED PROGRAMS (PUP) and thereby quarantine them ? rendering your apps useless.

Answer:McAfee Total Protection suite 2008, 2009 - MAJOR FLAW

Although McAfee's (home) products lack an Exclusion or ?Trusted Programs? option, you do have the option to upload the False Positive to McAfee's labs, where if the file is determined legit, you will most likely be supplied with an EXTRA.DAT to cover the FP until McAfee's main database is officially updated. They are usually pretty quick to respond and you should receive the EXTRA.DAT within a couple of hours. I've had very few FP's with McAfee in 3 years of use and I'm a fairly heavy computer user. They have quite a low level of FP detections compared to some other Antivirus vendors. AVG had one such (fairly big) FP just the other day.

Hey guys (girls),

New user here. I'm trying to find a bypass as to how to manually update McAfee Internet Security 2009. I have several computers at home that do not have internet access on the regular. Does anyone have any tips? I have the current definitions from McAfee that I can burn onto a disc, but every option I've exhausted doesn't work.

-Manually removed the previous .dat version, tried swapping in the new .dat from McAfee
-Tried using the super.dat install package you can use with the Corporate version
-Tried patching in the new w/ the current .dat file also, but no luck

Thanks in advance for the help!

Answer:Manually Updating Mcafee Virus Definitions 2009 Internet Security Suite

With the following system requirements: System RequirementsMicrosoft Windows 2000 (32-bit) with Service Pack 4 (SP4) or higher,Windows XP (32-bit) with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or higher,Windows Vista (32 or 64-bit)800 X 600 or higher resolution256 MB RAM150 MB of available free drive spaceInternet connectionMicrosoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.Optional: Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or laterAnd nothing in the user manual even remotely mentioning the ability. It appears that it's not possible. And I would have to say discussion of how to potentially accomplish an update offline given the preceding comments have a likelihood of violating one of the forum rules which state. No subject matter will be allowed whose purpose is to defeat existing copyright or security measures. If a user persists and/or the activity is obviously illegal the staff reserves the right to remove such content and/or ban the user. This would also mean encouraging the use or continued use of pirated software is not permitted, and subject to the same consequences.Unless someone can confirm that McAfee supports offline updating with documentation. I do understand your dilema without Internet access however the information presented could be used to defeat copyright or security measures. Hopefully someone can find a McAfee supported answer.

I installed microsoft suite 2000 on my new pc which is running xp. The installation went fine; however, I do not have the codes to make word, etc. work. I tried to uninstall suite 2000; however, I get errors every time and it will not uninstall all the way. It is currently in add/delete programs section but it will just not uninstall all the way. What I am attempting to do is add suite 2002 to my xp. When I try and install the suite 2002, it says "installing suite 2000" and then it messes up and I get some more errors stating its unable to install it. I found the program that uninstalls suite 2000; however, it does not work with the xp operating system. Is there any way I can manually remove suite 2000 and all of its contents so I can install suite 2002? I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you very much. (Email removed by Moderator.)

Answer:Removing suite 2000 and installing suite 2002

Hi, Airbag. I removed your email address 'cause you'll likely end up getting spam. There is software out there that searches the web for email-like strings... If you want to put your email on the web, you might try something like me-at-isp-com, so it's not recognized as an email string.

Anyway...

This is a task and a half. Start by going into Windows Explorer and deleting all Office stuff; probably C:\program files\microsoft office.

Then you need to delete it from the registry. Hit Start-Run and type regedit and hit enter.

Delete the 9.0 folder:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0

If you have any other numbers, like 8.0 or 10.0, delete them too.

Close ALL programs. Hit Start-Run and type %temp% and hit enter. Delete all the files in there. If you have Windows 2000, there may be some folders you cannot delete, and that's okay. If it says there's hidden files, delete them too.

Try the install of XP.

I have the AV Security Suite Virus and am using Windows XP.
I was finally able to download malwarebytes using an alternative link. As I tried to run it, an Error: 0 window appeared. However, the malwarebytes screen still popped up and allowed me to run a scan.
I then clicked on 'Remove Selected Items.' Malwarebytes removed most infected items but requested that I restart my computer to complete the process. Am I supposed to restart in Safe Mode? I tried restarting in both safe and normal modes, and nothing happened.
I know the virus is still there because when I attempt to re-download Malwarebytes (renaming the exe file to something random) I get more error windows saying Error: Enumerate 2; 3.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi all! I'm working on an old laptop "Acer Aspire 3680 " He said that it was just slow. So the first thing I did was fun MBAM and found 25 PUP's. "Find the log file in the zip". I removed all it found and ran it again and came up clean. He had no AV installed. I did a general cleanup and defrag. I downloaded Avast and started the install and got this"Note The Thumbnail" That got me by surprise as MBAM came up clean. The Windows Protection Suite program does not start up at all.

A friend of mine has not long bought a second hand system running Win98SE.Out of the blue he gets a long error message on start up that tells him Norton Antivirus has interfered with his attempted installation of Work Suite 2003.The error messagaes are C:\PROGRA"1\SYMANTEC\SYMEVNT.386 and C:\PROGRA"1\NORTON"1\NAVAP.VXD .I have tried the microsoft support site and it gives you the remedy to the problem but you need the Work Suite 2003 CD-ROM for it to work.Firstly he does not have the Work Suite 2003 CD-ROM , and also he doesn't have Norton AntiVirus installed. I had a look in the add/remove programs for any trace of Norton and it is there but it will not let you remove it, when you try it gives an invalid path message. Also it will not let him access the Internet , so what do we do ?PS To understand better what I amrefering to goto question 331086 on hhtp://support.microsoft.comAll help gratefully accepted as always.

Answer:Norton /Work Suite problem.

Try the uninstall tool click here

I found only one other posting that related to my problem. He had all the same problems as me which was:

"My operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Home.

Getting my internet service installed by Verizon has been a hassle. I thought I was in the process of activating my account yesterday, but something went wrong. I apparently cleared everything up with Verizon, but as a result of the partial activation process I went through, I downloaded Verizon Internet Security Suite (VISS). But halfway through downloading it, there was an error, and so I don't think it was completely downloaded.

Now that I must go through the whole activation process again next week, I have been trying to remove everything I downloaded. But when I tried using "Add or Remove Programs" to remove Verizon Internet Security Suite (hereafter VISS), I was informed that I had to reboot first. Well, I rebooted my computer, and tried again. But again I was told I had to reboot first. So I tried deleting the entire Verizon folder on my hard drive, but it wouldn't let me, saying: "Cannot delete AVCntxtR.dll: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently is use."

Furthermore, I cannot open "My Computer" on my desktop, nor can I click on "My Network Places" in the Start menu. When I do, I receive this message: "Cannot start this program, because the required component 'C:\Program Files\Veriz... Read more

I have a client who recently transitioned to G-Suite (Google Apps for Non-Profits, specifically). Their registrar is bluehost.com

Since then, their email is only working spottily from what they can tell. I have many clients who have G-Suite, and so i checked their configuration against other clients. The configuration for this domain is generally correct. They have Google's 5 MX records. However, when i run a DNS report on them at dnsstuff.com, i get this (less relevant information omitted)

I have the Zone Alarms Suite (Firewall, Anti-Virus, etc) installed onto my two computers and I have encountered a baffling and potentially dangerous problem.

Zone Alarms phones home periodically to check for and download updates for my Anti-Virus subscriptions and for the last three days I have been getting an error message whenever Zone Alarms phones home. The message says something like: "Unable to resolve server" and the update attempt fails.

At first I thought this was a problem confined to my desktop computer and maybe my ISP but I am using my laptop at a friend's house and I just tried to get the updates and got the exact same message.

Does anyone know if Zone Alarms is having any problems or issues? The older my virus files get the greater the risk to me and everyone else who uses Zone Alarms.

Thanks to all and have a good and safe Holiday.

Answer:Problem w/ Zone Alarms Suite

Hi, I'm in the UK(different server?) and Zone Alarm seems to be updating & running daily at the moment on PC & laptop (at the moment anyway!)

Good luck as you try to trace & solve the problem...

Hello, I'm not sure how descriptive I'm suppose to be but I'll try my best to get my point across without making my post too long. A couple hours ago I came back from dinner and found several pop ups on my screen about this "Security Suite." I couldn't run firefox and trying to shut down the "SS" through task manager wasn't working either. The program seems to block anything from opening by saying it is infected. I figured I'd try using a restore point from last week and found that the program was blocking that as well. So I decided to use my laptop to find some kind of solution. I came up with this particular website and have been following this guide: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...-security-suiteEverything worked out as it should have until step nine. The rkill runs and a black screen pops up filled with white text saying "The system cannot find the path specified." over and over. Then a notepad opens up that says:This log file is located at C:\rkill.log.Please post this only if requested by the person helping you. Otherwise you can close this log when you wish.Services Stopped:Processes terminated by Rkill or while it was running: Rkill completed on 09/06/2010 at 19:08:54I've typed it just as it's on the screen. I'm just not sure if rkill worked. I decided to go on and finish up the rest of the guide and I was able to install Malwarebytes. It is currently scanning the pc and has found 3 o... Read more

One of the components of this program "easy photo print" was not working correctly so I uninstalled the Creativity suite completely but everytime I tried to install it again it was telling me that "the same version of Easy Photo Print is already installed and only new or modified files will be installed, do you want to continue" I click on yes and a small box pops up saying Exit setup 113. I have scanned the PC for this and there is no trace of it anywhere. Does anyone have an idea or do you think there is a corrupt file somewhere. I have run registry scan but it did not make any difference. Many thanks

I have been using Photo Suite 4.0 on my pc (OS Windows ME) for several years and this has recently started happening:  I can't open the program. When I click on the icon from my desktop, instead of opening the program, the 'Internet Options' dialogue box opens. Same thing happens when I try to open the program from START>Run.... and also when I try to open from the program folder. 'Internet Options' box opens every time!  I've uninstalled/reinstalled Photo Suite but still the same problem.  This is only happening with this one particular program.   I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum category. Thanks in advance!

Answer:Problem opening Photo Suite! Please Help!

Here's a suggestion you can try...Uninstall PhotoSuite again.  But this time, use CCleaner (without Yahoo! toolbar) to clean out your temp files and rogue registry keys (with the Issues feature) before reinstalling it.  The incorrect settings may be stored in the registry.Does this make any difference?

I have this annoying problem with the Sony Ericsson PC Suite, everything I want to send files to my phone with the USB cable and click on the File Transfer icon it comes up with a message saying Initializing Windows Installer, this happens EVERYTIME. So I have to re-install it for it to work and then this error message comes up about a DLL file which is something to do with the File Manager.
(may take time to load picture)

Any suggestions on what I can do?? As its really annoying having to install it everytime.
