Question: Bluetooth headset not working

I have just connected my bluetooth headset successfully but cannot get any sound from it! I have made sure that it is the default sound device etc. but still no joy - any ideas? (PS it works with my mobile OK, so it's not faulty)

Preferred Solution: Bluetooth headset not working

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Bluetooth headset not working

Have you checked that it is not muted in Volume control?

Hi folks,

I have a set of Swage 2 Bluetooth Headphones by Rokit Boost. They work great on most games, and on a few I just have to disable the mic in the game settings and then the audio will work wonderfully.

However, there are a couple of games which don't play well with the headset. To be specific, Team Fortress 2 and America's Army: Proving Grounds. I've tried disabling the mic, but nothing happened. I get absolutely zero audio through my headset on these games, audio works fine on my speakers and ear buds, but doesn't work on my headset. Is there a fix somewhere? Something I have to disable?

Also, with Team Fortress 2, I do get audio in the Menu but when I join a game it cuts out. On America's Army, I don't get any audio anywhere. Not in the menu and not in the game.

Any help would be much appreciated.

-Chuck

PS: I know what you're probably going to say, "Get a wired headset. Problem solved." Well, I would but as it is the holidays are coming up and I don't have very much money and the money I do have is going to gifts.

Hi,I've just bought HP all-in-one  24-g080na desktop and HP H7000 bluetooth headset. Unfortunately, the headset is not found by the computer. I have tried what is in the manual (which is a bit useless to be honest) and other advices from the support team. However, nothing seems to make the computer found the headset in the bluetooth devices or through the Connect window. Could someone please help and advice on how to fix this problem. I have seen that I am not the only person with this issue. Otherwise, PC is great and I am pleased with it!Thank you for any help.

After not using a bluetooth set for a while, it is no longer working with my X1 Carbon Gen 2. This same headset used to work with this computer and still works with a cellphone. However, with Bluetooth Enabled and the headset powered, the device shows up in the list of Bluetooth Devices and is shown to be of type Heaset. The Headset service option is enabled in its property settings too. It does not appear in the list of Playback devices, although the device paired properly. Things already tried to solve this but did not work:- Toggle Bluetooth antena on and off- Disable and renable Bluetooth- Update Bluetooth driver.- Uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth drive.- Update sound driver.- Uninstall and reinstall sound driver.- Even tried the bluetooth with the sound driver uninstalled! The problem always remains the same: Bluetooth is on, the device pairs and shows up in the list of Bluettoh device and has the headset service enabled, yet no sound comes out of it and it never appears in the list of playback devices. The X1 Carbon Gen 2 is running an up-to-date Windows 7 64-bit. The Lenovo System update shows that everything else is up to date. How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance, - Itai

I've bought a new samsung mono bluetooth headset HM1100. i'm able to use it for answering calls but i'm unable to use it for listening songs. i'm using lumia 520 with windows 8.1. People said me that we have to use a 3rd party application to listen the songs. if anyone can tell me what is that application for wp. and can anyone help me out to solve this issue.

Answer:Why isn't my Bluetooth headset working for listening to songs?

When you connect the headset to your phone does it say voice and music under the device? If not then it doesn't support listening to music. Most mono headsets (if not all) are for calls only. Not for playing music.

Hi All, I have Nokia BH-900 bluetooth headset and X60s laptop, how to use the headset for VoIP calls? The OS is Windows XP. So far I have added the bt device to the device list, but for some reason the device connection does not activate, ie the headset keeps blinking green, not blue. And I can not find the bt device from any settings. I already tried the search on this forum, but the given instructions did not seem to match my case, or I did not understand them  BRJorma

In neither instance does the Sony appear. Suggestion? Mark

Hello!

I recently installed the latest version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (v9.10.32T) for one of my desired applications to properly function. However, connecting my Bluetooth headphones through Toshiba's bluetooth manager does not seem to support the media buttons on the headset. These include Play/Pause and seek buttons. Before the Bluetooth stack, when I used my default bluetooth driver for connection, these controls had worked fine.

Also, there does not seem to be a specific setting to fix this in the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Options.
How would I go about getting these controls back?

I just recently got bluetooth headphones. I was wondering if I was able to plug in a usb bluetooth dongle into my xbox 360. So i could connect my headphones via bluetooth to the xbox and hear in game audio through the headphones. Would that work?

Answer:Can i plug in a bluetooth adapter to my 360 and then connect any bluetooth headset?

That won't work, the Xbox 360 don't have drivers for bluetooth devices (Impossible to install drivers) and that bluetooth dongle won't be recognize by the console.

I recently purchased these 2 items. Hoping for a headset for my phone and my pc.

Newegg.com - Kinivo BTH220 Black Bluetooth Stereo Headphone – Supports Wireless Music Streaming and Hands-Free Ca
Newegg.com - Mini Bluetooth USB 2.0 Micro Adapter Dongle

It worked perfect with my Andriod, but the Dongle does not seem to want connect with the headset. It seems the Dongle was not made to work with Windows 7 64bit. The bluetooth dongle will recognize the headset when I try to sync them, but will not actually let them connect for any audio. Here's a pic of the error.

I've tried reconnecting it multiple times. Been searching online for the past few hours for drivers and programs to get it to work, but no such luck. Any help will be appreciated.

I've tried various testing procedures and it doesn't detect anything.

Question: bluetooth headset

Hello,

I'm running win 8.1 and want to use a bluetooth headset. I'vs been searching for a day already for solutions in vain. Let me explain the scenario.
I have Dell Vostro 3460 notebook with Win 8.1 Core 64 bit on it. I have bluetooth enabled, I can connect to bluetooth devices (phone). My headset is a noname one but it still works on other machines (works with phone, works with Ubuntu).
In windows I can pair the headset but that's as far as it goes. I cannot select it as audio output device. I learned that for it to work I need to have an "audio sink" serviceat the bluetooth device. Unfortunately the only service my driver shows is "handsfree" (transleted, not sure if this is the proper english name).
I tried updating bluetooth drivers (various) but none of them made any difference.
Can anybody help me in getting this working?

Thanks,
Mikl?s

I recently added a 320 Plantronics head set to my computer array along with a generic Bluetooth USB adapter so I can listen to MLB (baseball). I got the pairing done successfully and the tests work as do all Windows beeps etc. However, I cannot hear other sounds that normally come thru my speakers such as baseball, music etc that play thru Windows Media Player. Any suggestions? The Bluetooth adapter does not specify Vista (my op sys), but since I hear the Windows chimes etc, shouldn't I also hear everything else? Thanks.

I have heard some people complaining about being unable to connect their Bluetooth headsets to their Windows 10 PCs after pairing, I've been down that road my self and the tangible solution I later found out is not shared anywhere on the net (though other solutions are provided, but not quick enough). So, I thought "maybe" someone might need this.
Unlike Windows 7 where the "connect" button is provided to manually trigger the connection between paired Bluetooth headset and the PC, the Windows 10 misses on this feature, even the anniversary update. The problem is, some Bluetooth headsets when paired with a certain device and then use with another device, they lose the connection with the first device they are paired with, so they need to be manually trigger to be able to connect with the first device. Though the Bluetooth headset will still show as "Paired" under "Bluetooth Devices", but it won't connect.
To solve this, I mean to easily connect your paired Bluetooth headset incase it fails to connect with your laptop, simply press "Windows key + K key" (Windows + K), a sidebar just like info center will show up at the left side of the desktop window and all paired Bluetooth devices including your headset will be listed, simply click on your Bluetooth headset name among the list and it will connect.
As a side note, do make sure your Bluetooth headset is turned on before you press the Windows + K keys.
Graphic demonstration including some details are posted here: How to Fix Pair... Read more

I have a LG bluetooth headset--works with my Galaxy S5 just fine----
I'm trying to listen to my music & Youtube on my computer with it----
my P8Z68 V Pro motherboard has BT-GO

but
Windows 7 (64bit) will.
Windows 7 detects & pairs with the LG headset no problem at all
when I go to Control Panel // add Hardware page---the LG is shown.
when I go to the paired page it shows my computer & the LG headset with the Bluetooth symbol
between them no problem------
here is my problem
the signal strength meter only shows 1 bar, if I lean right up next to my tower it will go to 2 bars
& I can just barely hear the sound in my headset.
if I go to Device Manager there are 2 yellow symbols under ""other devices"""
but no yellow up at the top under ASUS bluetooth.
the driver listed for the ASUS bluethooth is ""Atheros Corperation"" 7.2.0.65
do I need to download the latest driver from Broadcom for the yellow symbol under other devices ??
if I download Microsoft Mobile Center software will this help me even though I can just barely hear the sound in my headset ???? they do pair.
like on Youtube do I need to pull off the plastic cover off the bluetooth I/O port

There is a youtube video supposedly showing you how to increase the range. I found it puzzling. There is no dialog nor onscreen captions. The guy has a tape measure and a Samsung phone. I have no idea what he is doing.

Your best bet would be to disable the weak onboard bluetooth and buy a USB bluetooth dongle.

Question: Bluetooth Headset

I am trying to connect a StraightTalk Bluetooth Headset Model # STB13W1021 to my Dell N5110 laptop.  I have attached a screenshot of the specs on my laptop.  My computer is  able to "find" the bluetooth headset and the drivers download and I receive the message that the device is ready to use.  I then try to play music from my lap top and have no audio through the headset though the computer speakers work fine.  When I check playback devices the bluetooth headset is not shown.  When checking Bluetooth settings, all settings seem to be set correctly but when I close settings I get the error that "Windows Shell  Common dll has stopped working"  Also when I check Bluetooth services for the headset it shows "Listen to Music" and "Forward VOIP calls to handsfree" but neither links are active.  (see screenshot) My son also has the same Dell computer using Windows 7 Home Premium but does not have Service Pack One.  I was able to connect this headset to his computer without a problem and the Bluetooth services links are active on his computer.  The headset works great.  I have gone through all the settings and compared them to his computer and they appear to be the same.I have connected this headset to my Droid 2 phone and it works properly.Any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksDavid[recovering disk space, attachment deleted by admin]

Answer:Bluetooth headset - which one?

It is more of a case of which one you like and the biggest asset you need is how long the batt last for. I have a similar one to the plantronics it is light and easy but only lasts about 3hrs the nokia is a lot more expensive and a little bigger but i think that gives a longer talk time as well as the sony-ericcson

Question: Bluetooth headset

Hey guys, im not the best with computers so bare with me lol.

I just bought a set of Bose Soundlink 2 wireless headphones and cant seem to get them to connect to my PC.
Im running windows 7, and when i select "Add a device" under the Bluetooth tap, it keeps searching for devices... and my headset keeps blinking in "pair mode" till they shut off. I can successfully connect them to my phone, and my girlfriends laptop which is running windows 10. Is this a common problem with windows 7 not connecting with Bluetooth headsets? Any help would be much appreciated, ive spend too much time trying to figure this out, and Bose support was no help obviously. Thanks again for any input, really would like to figure this out

Answer:Bluetooth headset

Welcome to our forum tjessop.

Do you have your usb 3.0 drivers installed?
If not your motherboard should of come with a CD that has the usb 3.0 drivers.
Are you plugged into Usb 2.0 or 3.0?
Does your Bose head set need drivers?
Did your head set come with a CD or DVD?

Boot your PC and then plug in your head phone and see if Windows 7 picks them up.
If not, boot your PC and then plug your head phone in and see if Windows 7 picks them up.

Right tick on your volume icon (lower right) and select (Play Back Devices). Do your head phones show up there?
That is about all I can think of.

Jack

It is possible that the pairing has been corrupt. I would consider deleting the current pairing and then try to repair it to the phone. If that does not work you can try to pair it to a different bluetooth if you had a spare or possibly a friends. If it connects then it is a good chance it is a defective bluetooth.

Think this might be the best place for this.

A little annoyance here. I got a Moto H800 bluetooth headset I would like to use on Ventrilo while gaming and it just is not connecting. To many variables? Lets narrow it down

First, the basics:
System: WinXP-Pro SP3 All Updates
Bluetooth: USB ISSC Bluetooth EDR Adapter [ISSCEDRBTA]
Using XP Bluetooth Stack

Using the bluetooth devices dialog found in Control Panel I add the H800 by pressing "ADD", checking "my device is ready to be found", pressing "NEXT", waiting for windows to find the h800, clicking on it then pressing "NEXT" again, select "use passkey from my documentation" which of course is 0000, then press "NEXT" one last time.

At this point the h800 flashes violet and blue, usually indicating a connection. However it quickly turns to a flashing red. even though it is paired, it will not connect to the pc.

Wondering if I did something wrong?

Hello all, i got a situation right here. im using an old LG KS20 with its default OS, WinMo 6 and i happen to have 2 stereo (A2DP) devices which are Philips SHB7100 and Fujitsu SPK-796.

so i pair them to my older phone, LG KU990 Viewty and both devices work perfectly. Now i'm trying to connect either one of them to the KS20 without any luck. So the bluetooth headset and speakers are working right.

I discovered that there are "handsfree options" in bluetooth settings that has "authorization" "authentication" and "encryption". ticking or not ticking any of them did not give me what i need.

so basically the problem is: i can connect both devices as "hands-free" and it asks me for pairing code when i pair both of them, but i cannot connect the "high quality audio bluetooth". it says connection failed, obviously because it didn't ask me the pairing code, which is necessary in the first place.

so anyone here facing the same issue?

I have a SONY MDRZX770BT Bluetooth Headset which I am trying to pair with my Dell OMNIPLEX AIO PC. All seems to go well, until I bring up the 'SOUND' screen from Control Panel. The headset, which was reported as successfully added, and ready to use, does not appear on the screen of playback devices.
All related BT and sound devices on Device Manager are shown as working properly, and the headset appears on the Devices and Printer screen. I also checked that all BT Services are running.
I was able to install, and use, the headset on my wife's computer, so it is not a defective device.
I checked the SONY web site for possible driver updates, and no downloads are avaiable for this device.
Also, I had a previous (Philips) BT headset working on this PC, so the BT software seemsOK.,.
What have I overlooked?

I have been trying to get my Plantronics bluetooth headset working with Windows 7 without any luck. I want to use it with a 3CX softphone to use it with a Google Voice number.

At first I was able to add the headset to "Devices and Printers" but could not get any audio in or out of it for the softphone. A wired headset works ok. I searhed here and read a post that someone suggested BlueSoleil 6. I installed it and it seemed to pick up the headset, but that didn't work. I even installed BlueSoleil VOIP, but that thing is for Skype. While it was installed, I checked my "Devices and Printers" and it was not listed anymore. So, I uninstalled BlueSoleil. I was able to add the headset again. Still didn't work. I also read somewhere else to install the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software. It could not detect my headset. The headset disapeared from the "Devices and Printers" window. Now I can't e ad the headset. When I try, my Brother Laser printer is listed to add. I already have had it installed for some time.

Anybody have a clue of how I can get this to work?

JuJust got a small 15 dollar headset for use with my ps3, and what do I know...as soon as i get home and set everything down, I can't find my instructions anywhere. I know I brought em in, but I still can't find em. What I need to know is how to sync my bluetooth headset to my ps3. I dunno how to put this one in pairing mode. I don't even know the brand it is.. the model number is HT1A515HS/7- though that could be the model of the charger. not sure. All i know is the headset is small, black, and hs the word "Bluetooth" below the big square button. looking at it from that angle it has two other buttons on the left of the device. It's driving me nuts that I can't figure this out.

There will be a code to allow your i phone to secure the bluetooth,
Do you have this code??

If you do then this may help (it can not hurt to try it anyway)but if not we really need a make or model to go any further.

P.S. The number you gave appears to be the charger and all i can find are Chinese websites that have no information regarding the bluetooth device.

I'm trying to make a stereo bluetooth headset work on my HP Vista32 Desktop.

I can pair it, then connect it, the device changes from speakers to the headset in my "Playback devices" window, but I get no audio through the headset. After about a minute, the playback devices changes back to my speakers
and the headset shuts off.

I've checked all of the drivers in Device Mgr...all are installed and working properly. I've also done
attempted updates on all of the involved drivers. I get messages saying the drivers are up to date in all cases.

It appears that the drivers (Blue radio & enumerator, headset in sound, video and game controllers) are installed
correctly, but the audio channel is not cut through.

Has anyone had in experience in this problem???

Hi, I have just installed W7 32bit Ultimate on my T61 type 7663-DT6 and ran into problems with bluetooth.I have 2 headsets BT620s and BT650s and W7 wanted to search for drivers and found nothing. After having updated W7 and later System Update and at last found the Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate software II version 6.2.1.2900 dated 24 Aug 2010. Then it found my BT620s and did not try to install a driver. But I can not select the headset in playback devices because it does not show up in the list. Have I missed something. RegardsFleming

Hopefully someone will be able to help solve this, because I am stumped. I bought a rocketfish USB bluetooth adapter almost a year ago now. I also got a Motorola H15 bluetooth headset at the same time. Everything worked fine in XP and even when I had W7 RC, I used the headset as a mic for ventrillo, teamspeak, etc.

I recently built a new rig a month ago and have W7 ultimate x64 installed.
The USB adapter was installed fine by windows itself and I updated to the newest driver online. I turned the headset on and the adapter found the device. W7 is now asking for a driver in order for the headset to work though. I don't remember it ever doing that before in XP or W7 RC.

W7 can not find a driver for the headset, even if I tell it to look online. I don't think there is even a "driver" for this, because it works off the adapter by pairing it.

any thoughts?

LB

Answer:Bluetooth headset issue

For Bluetooth headsets, you normally need too install the driver and software that comes with the headset. If windows update is having a tough time finding drivers, try visiting the manufacturer website. After you install, use the software to manage pairing, then configure the sound output properly and it should work fine.

Is there a place I might find universal over-the-head pieces?

I got an iogear headset that has only ONE ear piece available - it keeps falling off. They have no other choices, apparently.

Not even Plantronics offers more than one choice for their BT headset. How disappointing! If I can't find a better way to secure it, I'm going to send it back. Otherwise it fits great. I just always seem to have a fight with over-the-ear hooks.

I have a a Dell Latitude E7450, running W7 Pro (64 bit). I recently bought an August EP650 bluetooth headset and tried to connect. It does not. It is recognised in 'Devices and printers' and drivers are installed and when I go to 'Sound' I can see it, but it is disconnected and nothing can make it connect.
I searched the internet for 2 days and tried various things. I understand I have to go to 'Device and printers' -> right click and select 'Service' and click on 'Listen to music' or 'Forward VoIP to Handsfree'. I click on 'Listen to music' - nothing happens. No message, just nothing. I checked 'Properties' -> 'Services' and 'Headset' is selected as a Bluetooth Service. I tried everything suggested on forums.
I went to Dell drivers and could see a new bluetooth driver issued on 01.08.17. Downloaded and installed it. The fun started then as the headset would not install correctly, I hade like 15 issues with 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'. Nothing I did installed the correct drivers for 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'.
I gave up and called Dell, but they see it as a software issue (yeah! their software!!!) and want to charge me the earth for helping me with no guarantees.
I found the restore point and rolled back to before I installed the new drivers. Device manager is now not complaining, but still nothing works.
BTW - the headset connects to my mobile no problem. So ... Read more

Go to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices (or whatever it is called in Vista), and change the output there.Normally if it comes out of the speakers and you plug headphones in, it should automatically transfer to the headphones. With BT I assume you need to do a little more work.

Hey i'm new to the forum and wasn't sure whether to post this in Hardware or vista so anyway.

I am currently running Vista Home Premium on a brand new HP pavilion notebook with inbuilt bluetooth. (my avator)Vista and the pc have been great for what i need them for however i recently wished to connect my Motrorla H350 bluetooth headset to my pc for use with MSN messenger voice recognition and other software. The device paired well and is visible in the bluetooth devices window-
However now the problems start. I have had trouble getting the device to act as my computer microphone and speaker. this is due to the fact that it is not visible in my sound control panel under playback devices
or recording devices
I suspect it might be a driver problem and so here is a screen shot of the hardware and drivers related to bluetooth on my pc-

If anyone knows how to fix this problem it would be much appreciated.

Please help.
I have a Satelite L655 Laptop, and ol headphones with wire broke... I bought new headphones AEC BQ-605 Bluetooth Headphones... because my laptop does not have Bluetooth compatibility, I bought a Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter for my computer. I also bought a new cell phone recently, with Bluetooth capable. The cell phone connects effectively to computer, both can pair. When I try and connect headphones, though the signal for headphones show up on computer bluetooth scan, I can't seem to confirm they are paired. Furthermore, the headphones (being SMART headphones) have audible status updates, and it will say "Waiting to Connect."
When I tried playing something from computer (movie, or online media), the audio for the media plays through the computer's speakers, not the headset.

After looking around on google for solution, something was mentioned about installing a driver to help send the soundbytes to the bluetooth... but I don't know what this means, or how to do this. Please explain how I can solve the solution in a manner that a computer illiterate would understand.

Thanks in advance!
PS... if needed I can attach screen shots later... hoping to see if my explanation was enough.

hum you have to switch on or 'connect' the 'stereo headset features' through the bluetooth icon in your system tray when you switch on your bluetooth connection in your laptop. Bluetooth headset with a mic, usually have two modes one is for communication which uses a older protocol, the other is the A2P 2.0 or something like that enables stereo music mode.

I have used plenty of bluetooth devices before with my ASUS U47A laptop's built-in bluetooth, including bluetooth headsets of varying kinds, it has always worked fine.

I bought the Turtle Beach XP-510 headset for work/play. Followed instructions for installation and have even tried my own methods of pairing bluetooth on them. the strange thing is, for both internet access and the bluetooth headset to work simultaneously, I have to be connected directly to ethernet and have wi-fi turned off, because if i am connected via wifi, wi-fi stops working correctly (Windows Network Diagnostic blames my router), and the bluetooth connection is basically garbage quality sound, and i can tell its, for lack of a better discription, fighting between wifi and bluetooth signals.

I tested this by making laptop speakers and mic default in sound settings while XP-510's were still connected....everything cleared up, but as soon as i set the headset to default, signal dies.

Is this seriously just the band frequency? as i have tried this on 2 different routers, but not changed the frequencies, i just don't know. is there an easy way to fix this with a router that only has 2.4ghz, or is this a software/hardware issue in my computer? i haven't found any similar stories online, and if it was online, then Turtle Beach is keeping it under wraps

Hi, I recently got this new WLAN Bluetooth Combo Adapter so that I could have the option to use bluetooth devices with my laptop. I'd connect my Sony MDR-XB950BT bluetooth headset and use it to talk to friends on Skype. When I look in my sound devices, there are normally two devices my headset connects with: "Headphones" and "Headset". The headset option is what lets me use my mic. However, now "Headset" displays as "Disconnected" and right-clicking then pressing "Connect" doesn't help. When I unpair then re-pair the device, it takes forever to download it's drivers, then I see that there is no "Headset" option in my sound devices at all! It reappears upon restart, but again as "Disconnected". Also, now when I connect my headphones, the "Headphones" option also displays as "Disconnected", but unlike the "Headset" option I am able to right-click and press connect and it will then connect. All my drivers are up-to-date and when searching for my new WLAN Bluetooth adapter I was told by an HP expert (who was a great help by the way) that this one was indeed compatible with my laptop model. It worked at first, but now I'm having these issues. There is no answer anywhere online that works for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
