Preferred Solution: Microsoft Office document image writer - doesn't

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Need "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer"

Previously used WinXPsp2.

Now I've formatted and installed winXPsp3, after installing office2003 as usual.

The problem is I can not print using the "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" which is a virtual printer office2003 and "Printers and Faxes" does not appear, as I set it up or I can do.

If I have installed the "Microsoft Office Document Imaging"

Does anyone know if there is a way to find and install the DIW?

I found it to be a very usefull tool for things like passwords and product keys etc.

Thanks

Answer:Office 2010 is great BUT it's missing MS Office Document Image Writer

It is not missing. It is just that there is nothing out there that uses the newest version. Go under Control Panel>Devices and Printers. You will see the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. That is the same thing.

In Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 bit I when I installed MSO 2003 a Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer was installed as a virtual printer and was visible in my Contral Panel Printers folder. This was handy as a printer for files for later printing as described at the link below. In Windows 7 64 bit I cannot get Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer to install as a printer although Microsoft Office Document Imaging does install and work as a program available to open view and scan files.
A solution is suggested in the article at the link below but it does not seem to work. does anyone here have a workaround for this issue?
Thanks

After reading your post I check to see if the same problem exist on my system; it doesn't. Looked up your problem on MS Office forums and couldn't find anything there either. Wish I could help. Have you attempted to repair the installation, or check to see if you can reinstall office; if you attempt a reinstall check the office tools to see if this has been checked off. Good luck.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to permanently delete Microsoft Office Document Image Writer & Microsoft XPS Document Writer. Getting rid of them once doesn't seem to be enough, as they always reappear. I guess Windows Update brings them back. I've found a couple of vbs lines that can be added to the login script, but they involve running prnmngr.vbs, which is apparently very long and can cause system delays. Maybe there's something simpler?

If this has been covered before, I'm sorry to repeat it. I did some forum searches and came up empty. Thanks for your time!

Accidentally deleted the Microsoft Office Doument Image Writer and now cannot get it back. Machine is Windows XP with Office 2003. I have tried uninstalling & re-installing office. I renamed the mdimon.dll and removed and re-added Microsoft Document Imaging from within Office 2003. The printer still does not exist.

I tried to manually add it. The Microsoft Document Imaging port is available but the drivers are not. I compared to a second machine to determine what drivers are needed (mdiui.dll & mdigraph.dll) and they are installed in c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86. But they do not appear in the drop down as valid drivers for a printer.

Any suggestions on how I can get the drivers to appear or to get the printer back?

Thanks

All I wanna do is print a document!!!

Do you have a default printer listed in your "printer and faxes"? If not you might want to reinstall the drivers for your printer. I've never heard of "the above" so you got me there...

I haven't got a copy of OpenOffice on any of my machines at the moment having moved on to the offshoot LibreOffice which is developing much faster. Here's some questions;
Do these grey marks print? Are they evident on other documents you open at the same time? If so I'm thinking aloud the lines that the document has the option to show non printing paragraph marks and formatting. On the toolbars look for the Backward "P" symbol likened by some to a musical clef. That toggles these on/off.

I disabled the printer service in my notebook and removed XPS Document Writer driver.
Now, whenever I try to open some of my powerpoint presentation files I get the error:

"The printer Microsoft XPS Document Writer cannot be found".

I guess that if I undo those changes it will work again but maybe there is another workaround?
Also there have to be some setting in the presentation file itself that depends if there is a XPS Document Writer found or not. Most of the ppt files work though...

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

I have Office 2010 Standard Open License Version installed on 7 XP Pro machines. We discovered, when trying to open a .tif file, that Document Imaging has been removed from Office 2010. I found and followed instructions in KB982760 from the MS web site. I got lots of parts of Office 2007, including Word, but still no Document Imaging. I tried going through Add/Remove Programs to add the feature; still no luck. Has anyone been successful getting Document Imaging from a previous version of Office to run under 2010?

there is supposed to be an option in the tools tab of the office suite to access document and image scanner yet it doesn't appear to be there.

the software that came with the printer isn't compatable and no updates are available for the software which isn't very good anyway.

has anyone seen a link or know of a link to download this side of office as an addon or plug in?

any help would be great thanks.

edit: oh i should add it's for a vista 32 bit system not my own system.

Answer:Office 2007 document and image scanner

Apparently Microsoft says the scanning option is not available in Office 2007. Here's the quote from the Office 2007 Help section search result for scanning:

The "From Scanner or Camera" option for scanning documents and pictures is not available in Microsoft Office Word 2007. Instead, you can use your scanner to scan the document, and then you can save the file to your computer.
After you scan the document, you can use Microsoft Office Document Imaging to create a version of the document that you can edit.

Hello,

I've always used MS Photo Editor (PE) as a quick and easy way to paste cropped images into a document or email. I do a print screen, open PE, Click Edit > Paste As New Image, crop the image to size and then copy the cropped image into a document or email. This used to work well 100% of the time but now, after copying the cropped image and pasting it into a doc or email the entire printed screen will paste, not the cropped image. It's driving me nuts because I use this method a lot. I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Answer:Microsoft Office Document Imaging

Microsoft Office Document Imaging is part of MS Office Tools included in all versions of MS Office since XP.
If you have the original install disc of MS Office you should be able to reinstall it from there (Put the disc in your drive and when the openning screen comes up it should have a "repair" option.
I know of nowhere that you can "download" it.

Answer:microsoft office document program

If you have Microsoft Word, search for a file named winword.exe. That's the file you need to start Word. If it's found, double click on it to run it. If Word opens, just make a new shortcut to the winword.exe file since your old shortcut apparently got corrupted somehow.

If you have a disc with either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works on the label; yes, you can reinstall Word from whichever one of those you have.

Please post back with the results.

A .tif is a picture or graphic. You can open it using Windows Paint or any other painting app. If you want to use Office, you could open Word and Insert, Picture, From File, and browse to the graphic and insert it into a word doc.

Over this past one year I have noticed more and more frequent BSOD crashes so I started paying close attention to what I was doing. Since then 100 percent of the BSOD occurred almost immediately after trying to save (via clicking the save icon, ^s (shortcut), or even save as). I found the probability of BSOD decreases a lot when you are doing a save a new filename. In fact I can't recall a single time where saving to a new file caused a problem. Overwriting an existing file seems to trigger it. The driver causing the BSOD is NTFS.sys. Note, it doesn't happen on each and every save, the average is like 1 of 7. My work-around has been to avoid saving early and often (which is a serious problem with Microsoft Office which isn't the most stable application around) and when I do save make sure it is via save-as and to a new filename. Just tack on a number or letter prefix. I mostly use Word ands Excel and have noted they both have this problem. Other applications may not have this issue, but then I don't overwrite too many files so that may be the reason for the lack of BSOD.

It's hard to say when it started. I allow Microsoft to update my PC as updates become available. I was never a fan of Microsoft roulette having been burned, but a couple friends insisted Microsoft cleaned up their act so I gave it another try. On the up side some of their updates did correct a couple minor issues. I believe one (or more) of their updates is responsible for this issue. Likewise I was hoping ... Read more

How do I associate opening a TIF file within Internet Explorer v6.0 with "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" on Windows XP?

Here's the scenario.

Within Windows Explorer on Windows XP, I can double click on a *.tif file and Microsoft Office Document Imaging will open and display the *.tif file. This works fine and as expected. The file association is correct.

But, I'm viewing a database application (Onyx Employee Portal v5.0) that uses Internet Explorer as an interface. Within this Internet Explorer interface, there is a link to a *.tif file. When I click on the link, another Internet Explorer window appears, I see the QuickTime logo appear for a second, then the TIF file appears within the Internet Explorer window. But, I don't want to view the TIF file with Internet Explorer. I want to view the TIF file with Microsoft Office Document Imaging. How do I make my computer understand this?

Thanks,
Dave

Answer:TIF file association with Microsoft Office Document Imaging

Its because its not really tif you are opening. If you are clicking a link to the tif then you are really opening a hyperlink more so than a tif file. So what you could so is right click on the link and do a "Save target as" then save the tif to your desktop which would then open it properly.

Hey everybody

Here at the office, we scan in leads that are mailed out to various employees. The scanner makes the file a .tiff, which has all the document images in that one file. We have to view the tiff with Microsoft Office Document Image in order to view all of the different files.

For example, if there were 40 documents scanned, and they all are put into one single .tiff. Now, if I use Microsoft Office Document Image to view it, then all 40 of them come up on the left side, and I can view them seperately.

However, if I use a picture viewer, it only shows the first document of the .tiff. I can't scroll through or anything.

Now, it's not a problem for us in the office, since we all have Microsoft Office. However, it is a problem when we e-mail them out to users that do not have this program. Is there a free alternative to this, that I can tell the employees to download, and use as the viewer for these documents?

Thanks.

I am in homeschooling and I rely completely on my computer for my education.
I just recently found and joined a program called Microsoft Office Live. It is basically like having an online flash drive, so you can access your files from any computer. (if you have internet)
A couple of days after I uploaded a Microsoft Word document and saved it on the program, I came back and now it won't let me edit it!
What happens is I click on the "Edit" button when I have my document selected then a message box pops up and says "Some files can harm your computer. If the file information looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open the file."

Then it either lets me click "OK" or "Cancel".
When I click "OK" the box goes away, but it doesn't take me to the editing screen so I am not able to edit my document.

I have tried over, and over again. Nothing happens! I think there might be something wrong with my Microsoft Word because it worked on a computer that I used before. But what I need to do is get it to work on my current computer.

I am using Windows Vista.

Also, I am using a free trial for Microsoft Word...may that be the problem?

Well, let me know what you think. I am sort of a beginner/intermediate with computers.

Please Help me on this! It is mandatory for my grades in my Sophomore year of high school!

I was scanning one chapter of a book in Microsoft Office Document Imaging (program installed with Microsoft Office 2003) using my HP Deskjet F2180 (TWAIN). After I scanned all the pages of the book's chapter, I went to menu File>Save to save the document as a TIFF file. However, at that occasion, I inadvertently moved the slider to increase quality/compression under the save options for .MDI file format just before I hit the Save button. As I intended, the file was saved as a .tif file, which is the default file format option in the save window. But perhaps I should not have changed the settings for quality/compression of MDI format, because since then, every time that I click the menu File button, the program crashes and the the same Windows error appears, saying something like: ?Microsoft Document Imaging found a problem and has to be shut down. We regret any inconvenience this might cause you. [...]?I love this program, and I'd like to keep using it. What should I do to get rid of these crashes? Do I have to restore the System to a previous restore point?

Answer:Windows Error when accessing the File menu in Microsoft Office Document Imaging

No need to restore the system! I tried the solution provided here and it worked!  I see now what probably have caused the crashes: I had saved 2 versions of the same file, (one with all the save options at their defaults and another one when I changed the settings for quality/compression of MDI format). But then, I think that while the program was still running, I manually deleted one of those files in Windows explorer, thus impairing it from being further accessed/listed among the 4 most recently opened files when I clicked on File in the top menu. Perhaps I should join TechArena Community too! It seems to be another great technical support community (like this one). You can't never get too much computer help.

Some months ago I started having a problem which I just put up with, then researched with no useful outcomes and kept on putting up with. Now I've researched it again and have a diagnosis, but don't know how to put it right.

So: initial problem. I found that when I tried to open Word 2010, I got a Windows Installer message box saying "Preparing to install" and then another saying "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Single Image 2010" and a bar underneath a line saying "Gathering required information". This would eventually get to the end, start another green line which quite rapidly got to the end and then Word would open, seemingly just as I wanted it. The whole process takes about 30 seconds - irritating but not impossible to live with if you don't keep needing to open different documents. When opening documents from Explorer the results appear the same whether I'm opening doc or docx version.

This happens whenever I start a new Word document from the Start menu, from the shortcut on the task bar or desktop, every time I try to open an exisiting document from Windows Explorer. The only exception is when I open a document from inside... Read more

Answer:Microsoft Office Single Image 2010 - Again

Hi

What type of installer is this Office version is it off DVD or a digital download and if digital where did you download it from?

Did you try uninstalling Office completely then install it as admin, so right click the setup/install file and choose "Run as Administrator", you should not need this route but worth a try as you keep getting the prepare to install messages,

In normal usage you should not need to deal with the registry to fix Office, if you do you have issues with your version or 3rd party software installed and generally the issues what could affect Office are anti-virus/malware apps, so disable them and install Office and run in Safe Mode and see if Office works ok, that will then lead you to the issue is not with Office but a 3rd party app.

Also what HDD cleaner applications do you have installed as in CCleaner. WinPatrol etc?

Mine Microsoft Office doesn't run in proper colour (it runs in black and white and not blue). Any program of MS Office have the problem

I am using Windows 7 x86

Answer:Microsoft Office doesn't run in proper colour

I think it is just that your colour scheme for Office is set to Black. To change it to something else, open an Office program like Word, click on the Office orb in the top left hand corner, click on Options in the bottom right hand corner of the box that opens, then change Color Scheme in the drop-down box to blue or silver. That should fix it

I followed mastersnoopy's advice and it worked out great to get into my Microsoft Office 2010 programs, but I'm still getting the same message every time I open a specific file such as a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet. The message is ' "The office document cache handler" add-on from 'Microsoft Corporation' is ready for use ' with two options "Enable" or "don't enable".
Does anyone know if there is a way to suppress this message?

This is just one of those odd quirks I have run into. When I open a new document in Word, then open an older file, the new document closes and only the old one is displayed.Using Microsoft Office 2010, specifically Word.Windows 7 64-bitA bit of explanation, I often do research/writing for school or for fun. This issue has always happened, just one of those small annoyances. Here is the exact thing that is happening:1. I open a new (blank) word document, by clicking on the Word icon or by selecting "Open New Document" in the Word program.2. I open an older (saved) Word document, by clicking on the saved file, not by using the "Open" function in Word.3. The New (empty) document disappears, only the older document is open. I must now open a new empty document to write in. What I want to happen:1. Open new document2. Open old document3. Both new and old document are open (2 windows).Other notes in no particular order:- Word has always operated like this. Just wondering if there is a way to stop it.- I am not using the "Open" function in Word to open the older file, I am opening the older file by double-clicking it in the File explorer. When I use the "Open" function in Word, it does the same (basically "closing" the new file in order to open the old one). - I tried searching through Word's settings but couldn't find anything that seemed to relate to this behavior.- As per regular Word behavior, the new document is auto-na... Answer:Microsoft Word Question (Opening old document closes new empty document)

Yes, you are right. That is normal for MS Word.Do this:Open a new document. Type something. Even a single space. Save it with a name you want. Now open an older document. Both documents can be on the screen or cascaded. If memory is not an issue, you can haven two instances of Word.

I'm trying to convert a custom-sized InDesign file to .XPS. When I choose the XPS Document Writer, it gives me the option of choosing a paper size. I choose A3 and the document preview showed it fit. But when I actually print the document, it creates a letter-sized .XPS. I've changed the specifications for the XPS Document writer to print to A3, but it still won't print a copy of the entire original document. I got it to work once before weeks ago, but now I can't remember how.

Can anyone help?

After having brilliant & computer-talented son reload my Windows and return to his home town 1000 miles away, I now notice that anytime I want to print a form off a website, Microsoft XPS Document Writer is the default printer, and I have to manually switch it to my trust-dusty HP printer by clicking on Print Preview instead.

So WHY do I need this Document writer? All it seems to do is "save" it to a folder...and nothing prints. I found the below on the net, which in theory, says it's better than the old system, but 1) who cares if the old way was working fine for me 2) why do I need a format ready print?? and 3) if it's so wonderful, why does it pop up, I press save, and nothing happens? Am I forced to go to that folder to get it printed? I'm unimpressed.

doodle

XPS is Windows Vista's native print format. That is to say, everything that gets sent to a print spooler will be stored as XPS. This replaces Windows' extremely old and rickety print functionality based on GDI and a lot of print-driver voodoo. Basically, anything you build visually in WGF (e.g. XAML) will automatically be in a format ready for print.

Answer:XPS Document Writer--why do I need this on my computer??

Hoping someone can answer.

I feel like such a whimp when it comes to computers, it is so embarrassing. But I sure could use some help. A few weeks ago, my printer started to print out blanks. I have done every troubleshooting I could do under the help sections. The only thing I noticed different was the addition of an XPS document writer printer which I did not add. After reading what I could find, it appears that this document writing came as part of an automatic update. I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer drivers and software for my brother MFC 420CN printer with pro-suite software. I downloaded a to fix it software from the technet site of microsoft and everything is supposed to be running fine. I deleted the XPS doc writer as suggested and again made sure my brother printer was the default. I did a test print and the only thing that prints is the widows flag in the upper left hand corner of the paper. My computer will not let me do a system restore going back 1 or 2 months or even 1 or 2 weeks so I can't get rid of it. I tried in safe mode with no luck either. This thing is driving me absolutely nuts and so much valuable time. I am trying to buy a house and cannot even print off any documents that I need to sign. Please help me get rid of this. I need very easy to follow instructions please.
Thanks so kindly, Patti

Hi, People,

Just joined in the hope someone has a solution to this. My wife has a Vista Home Premium laptop on which she runs Quickbooks 5 for our Church accounts. In the past when sending printouts of balance sheets etc. to other members by email she was only able to use text files. For correct layout and formatting, it had to be snail mail. But I realised (yesterday!) that by using the xps document writer the printouts could be transmitted as email attachments and retain their original layouts and format.

BUT

When attempting to print using the xps writer (which happily appears in the printer choice box) we get the error message " Could not print to printer. Check your printer selection. Printing may have been cancelled by another program".

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling dot net 3.5 also the xps document writer itself to no avail. The xps writer works correctly with other programs for example Microsoft Word.

I thought it might be a problem with Quickbooks, so tried it with an installation on my XP laptop. I had to install dot net 3.5, but then it behaved perfectly, although if I cancel the save dialog I then get the error message which would appear to be particular to Intuit - the suppliers of Quickbooks. It does not appear if I cancel the save dialog in Word.

OK, for the occasions when the feature is needed I can transfer the files to my laptop and produce an xps document there. But not exactly satisfactory!

About the only difference in... Read more

Answer:xps document writer erratic behaviour

No response so far alas. But it seems strange that the file will 'write' in XP but not in Vista. Does anyone know where the Vista xps writer driver loader is located? Maybe if I (temporarily!) remove those files, I can get Vista to use the files supplied in dot net 3.5 They obviously worked in XP so maybe..... Incidentally I now have a 'true' printer installed on my laptop, and the xps writer still works ok, so no conflict there.

Cheers,

Peter.

I support a browser based application, which produces output as PDF document.
Three customers report that when they try to print, the content is missing from the document, except for a single line appearing about half way down the document.
Each of the customers is using Vista 32 bit Home Premium with MS.NET Framework 3.5. The first customer is using printer Brother HL5340D, and the remaining two customers are using printer Brother HL2140.
My operating system is MS XP. To emulate the problem I have installed MS.NET Framework 3.5 on my PC, and then directed the PDF output to MS XPS Document Writer. In this way I can emulate the customer's problem. If I direct the PDF to MS Office Document Image Writer the PDF output is correct. The problem appears to be a formatting issue linked to MS XPS Document Writer.
The first customer successfully resolved the issue by deleting the printer (Brother HL5340D ) from the Printers and Faxes, then added the printer back to Printers and Faxes. At first nothing would print (including test print), but after the PC was stopped and restarted, an auto Device Driver Install occurred (I assume this was for XPS), and printing was restored, including correct output of the PDF document.
The second customer performed the same steps, but despite the auto Device Driver install, and PC stop and restart, the PDF document print issue remains unresolved.

The issue is specific to Office 2016 on Win 10 (Office 2016 on Win 7, no problem, Office 2010 on Win 10, no problem). Certain documents (reported by a user who receives documents with Japanese text, haven't seen it happen with others) have the layout messed up, a 2 page Word doc gets spread over 4 pages, and I've been given some sample powerpoint slides which have text overflowing the end of the slide.

Word doc was originally in Legacy 2003 format, I did manage to make this particular document display correctly by saving it in .docx format, then enabling compatibility changes via vba, setting to 2010 compatibility and enabling "Use printer metrics to lay out document" based on what I read here: BUG!! Word 2016 fails to print margins correctly / messes - Microsoft Community

The other sample file I received was a .pptx - haven't been able to find corresponding compatibility options in Powerpoint.

Wouldn't be quite so annoying if they didn't both display perfectly in Windows 7.

Answer:Office Document layout/margins overflow on Office 2016 + Win 10

Turns out it was some sort of font substitution issue. I noticed the fonts in Word/Powerpoint weren't present in the Windows font dir. Copied them over from another Win 7 machine, suddenly everything looks fine.

Not sure why Office 2010 did a better job of it than 2016, I couldn't really pick if there was a difference in the Japanese characters before and after the font, only that the page layout was stuffed...

Hello! I work in a school board and we redirect My Documents folder to F:\
(Personal key = "F:\" in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders)
When set up this way, when we print something using the Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer, the document gets printed but it stays in the print queue as "Error - printing in progress". The job needs to be deleted for another one to print...
It is kind of annoying since we use a software that print batches of XPS so after a document gets printed, the next one does not print because it gets stuck in the queue. The user then need to delete the job for the next one to start and so on... not really
optimal when they have 100+ jobs to print.
I would like to know how can I solve this ? I have confirmed that the problem is the redirection because if I change the Personal key to the default (C:\users\xxx\My Documents), it prints fine but as soon as we put F:\ (network location), it fails.
We also can't really change the redirection so I would really like to know if there is anything I can do so that the Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer can print using My Documents folder redirection on the network...

I can't find a single way to change that setting. So, here's what I'd do.

Go to your (default) folder in Windows Explorer. Right-click it and hit Create Shortcut. Then, right-click the shortcut and hit Properties. Hit Change Icon. Give it the Open Office Document icon and also rename it to Open Office Document.

Copy or cut the shortcut.

Go to C:\windows\start menu and delete the old Open Office Document Shortcut and paste the new one in there.

In the mid to late 80's I worked at GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati. They had a site license for a word processor software called Office Writer by Office Solutions Inc which I think was located in Madison WI at the time.

The name Office Writer seems to have been used by other companies as well and in a newer time frame.

I  have some old documents saved in the GE version that I would like to get converted back to text. Does anyone have a suggestion for a program that will open these old files?

The file extension is WP. I have tried various modern word processors and various file editors but have been unable to find anything that opens these files to allow me to recover the text. Formatting is not important but I would very much like to recover the text portions.

Any suggestions for a software package or utility that will allow me to dig into this type of file will be greatly appreciated!!

I think these files were generated in a DOS based word processor called 'Word Perfect' and searching for 'read old Word Perfect files' on Google comes up with a number of hits. This one may work for you, if it doesn't there seem to be a number of other possible solutions -

This option enabled me to put a photo in the text area and place text under or above the photo explaining the photo. I'm taking a Perl class online and I wanted to save the information to my computer. ^_^ I want to keep the instructions and definitions of how functions work, so I've been looking for ways to save the web-page's text for later use. I know of the MS office program 'Image Writer' that would do this easily, but I can't find a copy of it anywhere online.

I have MSOFFICE 2000 and this really bugs me! -_-; Shouldn't there be a way to download the program since I already own a registered copy of MS office?

Anyway, If anyone knows a work around to solve the problem please let me know. I don't really want to save every single page using Print Screen, and I would rather save paper than print it all to a hard-copy.

Any suggestions?

Thanx :3

Answer:Image Writer

Inside browser, File->Save? Or doesn't that work with your environment?

You could install a PDF printer (CutePDF is free for example) and then "print" whatever you want to a PDF file.

I have lost access to the file because of the change in file formats, it was in windows old but how do I recover it and then change the file formats? It strikes me this may be a problem in a business or a charity who just didn't have
the money or just didn't see the need to upgrade to windows 10.

I have a HDC-SD100P/PC camera and have installed HD Writer 2.6E. I can connect the camera to my Compaq 610 laptop (with Vista installed) and read the card fine. However when wanting to read into HD Writer 2.6E or Windows Movie Maker they will not recognise the camera. HD Writer shows the message: "Cannot be worked as the TV system has a different image". Does anyone know what this means and how I can correct this????

Answer:Image error with HD Writer 2.6E

I have the same problem with the same camera. When I installed HD Writer I selected United Kingdom (PAL) which is the TV system I use. Maybe I should have selected something different! Is the camera TV system different from the TV you want to view your video on?

Question: Opal Office Writer

I don't want to spend $300.00 plus for Microsoft Office when I just want to use the Microsoft "Word" part. I found a Program called Opal Office Writer
$11.95 for a download or $ 16.95 for the CD. I want to make sure it has a Spellchecker and the Grammar similar to that in Microsoft's Word.
Has anyone had any experience with this program?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,I have an HP pavilion a810n (about 3 yrs old) and the dvd writer (hp 630c) isn't working. OS is Windows XP.  I haven't used it in a while, and now the light doesn't come on and it won't open or close.  It is like the computer isn't reading it at all, but when I try to troubleshoot, in Device Manager, it says the 'device is working properly'.  I have tried uninstalling the hardware, but no change.  I took the tower shell off to make sure it was plugged in, and it is.  Is there anything else I can try before going out to buy a new driver?  Do you need any more specific computer info for this?

Answer:DVD writer doesn't work at all

Burners usually last about 1 to 3 years and then die.Usually the optics die before the mechanical part dies but it can go either way.You could try removing it in Device Manager...it should be automatically re-installed by XP on re-boot.If this doesn't work swapping it into another machine should confirm if it is really dead...

Hello

Under Windows 7 SP1, I attempt to burn an ISO image to a DVD-R by right clicking the ISO image file and telling it to burn the image. I also ask it to verify the image. It does this without errors and pops open the drive. If I reinsert the disk, Windows 7 can't recognize it. If I go to my Linux box and write the exact same ISO image to a DVD-R using Linux tools, I can read that one on my Windows 7 machine. So there's something wrong with the way it's writing ISO images.

[edit] I wrote the same ISO image using another program (BurnAware free version) on Windows 7 and that one seemed to work. So the problem appears to specifically be with the ISO writer included with Windows 7.

Anyone else encounter this? I would suspect the drive, but the verify gives no errors, so that's surprising.

Thanks

Have you tried ImgBurn (Freeware)? Could you have a bad .iso file ?

I was updating my "To Do" list in Libre Office Writer and suddenly everything went really small!

The page part now appears in the center of the page, and all the writing is very small.

I have no idea of what button I accidentally pushed.

Can you please tell me how to get this back to normal size?

I also tried to open a new document to copy and paste the list into, but that also showed up really small.

Attached is a sample page from the To Do List, and a sample page of a new Libre Office document I opened to copy and paste to (this didn't work, since the new page was also in the small size.) As you can see, the ruler across the top of the page is only in the center of the page, and it should go all the way across the page.

Thanks so much if you can help me fix this! I hate getting nose smears on the screen from trying to read it.

Answer:[SOLVED] Need help with Libre Office Writer

There is a Zoom slider switch on the lower right hand side of the window. Currently it is set at 63%, Slide it to the Right to make it larger.

Anyone use this and have comments. I thought this would be a cheap (free) text writing software for my 92 year old Dad but it may not be all that it is cracked up to be. I think it is advertised as being a greate "generic" for Word, Excel, power point, etc. but I find the Writer part of the software a little odd. It has an odd way of introducing it's own format after a "carriage return" when you don't want it (specifically outline form format) and it can oddly wrap information off the page altogether.

When all is said and done maybe I should buy him a copy of Word 2003 ( wouldn't need all of Office either, just Word).

I have an HP 8200 external cd writer. I only have one problem with it writing my downloaded mp3s. Sometimes I will download a song and it will not show up in my writer file so I can copy it . Doesn't happen all the time but I have checked the bit rate and the fact that they are stereo and they are o.k. but just will not show up.

Answer:CD Writer Doesn't show all mp3s

Hiya and welcome

First off, what is your OS? I take it that the software you're using is Adaptec Easy CD Copier. There are some updates to this drive, but we need your OS for this.

Also, for the mp3's, they may be downloaded to your Tempory Internet Files. Have you had alook in there to see if they have gone astray?

Regards

Hi,I have a problem with my CD/DVD writer. I have been trying to write to it and on several occasions the data was written using various methods and programs, but when i checked the disc it had nothing on it, yet the computer said it was full. I have just realised using my other DVD read only drive that the data is being written, but for some reason the writer won't show it.When i put a blank cd in the writer it shows as a cd drive, when finished writing it shows as DVD ram drive.Any ideas please? Thanks

Answer:CD writer writes but doesn't read!

Maybe try an update driver - in Device Manager go to DVD/CD Drives - right click on listed drive and select Update Driver Software.
