Epson Perfn1650 Photo scanner -colour neg problem

Question: Epson Perfn1650 Photo scanner -colour neg problem

Trying to scan to file colour negs with Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner. On Auto it recognises the negs and (eventually - very slowly)scans the strip of 4. As I only want one of the strip I've tried to use the manual mode, hoping to select the single neg from the preview. However, it insists the document is a colour photo and I can't see any way to persuade it otherwise. Is there a way or does it not support colour negs in manual mode?I'm using XP with SP1.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Epson Perfn1650 Photo scanner -colour neg problem

More problems. I'm laboriously using auto mode and now that is playing up. It recognise some neg strips as colour negatives but every third one it see as a colour positive. If I switch off, disconnect the power then remove and replace the TPU connector when switching back on it correctly sees the strip as a clour negative.Frustrating is the politest word that comes to mind.

When scanning colour photos on my Epson 1250, it seems to enhance any blue in the colours, so the final scan is not quite accurate. Is it possible to correct this, and if so, how can I change this in the settings? Also, if it can be changed, is it possible to easily revert to the default settings?Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I've got the above on a windows xp system and the scanner is not working.
Also since installing this my digital camera is no longer recognised by the PC. I can download my pictures by putting the memory card into the Epson and doing it that way.

When I click on the Epson Scan desktop icon it says epson scan cannot be started and to run the troubleshooting assistant. This doesn't work and it says it cannot detect a scanner.

Am I going to have to re-install everything?

please help.

I have the Epson 880 and I am very pleased with it, however, I do print holiday photographs quite often, would I notice much difference with the R200 please?

Answer:Epson colour 880 v Epson Photo R200

hi badgermansix i use the 880 &print alot of pics,my friend has the 900 & i cant visibly see any difference, apart from the price of the cartridges.the 200 i believe can print onto discs but apart from that i would stick to the 880 with cartridge prices as low 1.50 for a colour i will stay with my 880.

Have been using compatible inks for years in our C62 printers with no problems.Just treated myself to an R300 because of the 6 inks and have been more than pleased particularly with the skin tones. Used up the original inks and now on my first set of compatible inks.My problem is that it now appears to be picking on the green on certain parts of the prints. ie certain parts of my wifes dark hair is tinged green. A friends dog which is grey the tips of the ears, eyebrows and around its nose is tinged green. It is not the original digital photos that is the problem because they print out perfect colours on my wifes C62.I thought about replacing just the cyan & light cyan cartridges with originals to see if this works. So my question is has anyone got an R200 or R300 (use same inks) and have exprience of this problem?Or has anyone any ideas how I can sort this out? I would like to keep using compatibles if possible. Thanks you..

try running a cleaning cycle.with click herethis does a great job and lets you choose between cleaning individual colours and also gives a thorough clean option which is stronger than the printers own.has other features too like freezer and so on.ps.its free.

Has anyone had any experience of this scanner please? My main use would be photo scanning, but initialy would scan in a set of 35mm slides (a 1 off job). The price & spec seem to just right for me. Have also looked @ the 2400, but understand there are some software issues with that particular model. any comments would be appreciated

I have been trying to Scan a leaflet but it keeps dividing it into 3 parts and scans 3 times so I get one page in three parts. I have just scanned a letter this was AOK, I thought I would go back and scan my leaflet, this time it scanned it twice so I have one leaflet in two parts, as if I had torn the paper in two. It starts from 001, so it should only scan once especially one document not divide it then scan the doc in three. Help please.

Answer:Epson V350 Photo Scanner

the scanner is auto detecting the leaflet and scanning portions in sections so that an OCR package can re-assemble the leaflet...The way to get round this is to do a custom scan - I have an Epson v100 at home but I can't remember the specifics. Generally you have to run a preview, delete any auto selections then select the whole leaflet to scan in one go. you may have to switch to expert mode to do this.If you still having problems send me a message envelope to remind me and I'll check tonight when I get home

Re: epson scanner - model 2400 Photo

Does anyone know how to scan text with the above scanner?
I've tried scanning text but all "save as" file extensions seem to be for photos like jpeg, tiff, gif, etc. I didn't seem to find a text file extension with which to save a text file. I will be opening and working with this text file in Microsoft Word. Perhaps some sort of external conversion to a text file needs to be performed after the text file is scanned with this above mentioned photo scanner?

Any tips or advise in scanning text with the above scanner and opening it with MS Word is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

Cliff.

Answer:epson scanner 2400 Photo

You need to use a OCR - Optical Character Recognisition program to scan the document and then save it as a text document.

You should have the Epson Smart Panel installed that came with the scanner. Open it and select OCR and go through all the steps to scan it into the computer.

I hooked up an old, but excellent, photo scanner. I got it working, but after it scanned two sets of slides, I suddenly get "No response from the scanner. make sure the scanner is on and properly connected. If using the Transparency Unit, remove the Reflective Document Mat."

Scanner is on and properly connected. Reflective Document Mat has been removed. It was working seconds ago, and now doesn't :-(

There was an earlier thread from a number of years ago with this exact question, but it has been locked (probably due to age) and the previous answers are unavailable.

I just connected an Epson V500 to my Windows 7 PC. I did download the proper driver from Epson's website & it does work.

My question is how to properly install the other software on the supplied CD. I may not use any of them but won't know till I try. There are 6 other apps, including the user guide, on the CD according to its directory and each one has a setup.exe file. It just seems strange to have to do 6 installs in order to get the other software installed.

I did try the autorun and there is an option to select among 4 apps, but the CD directory lists more than that. I was interested in the Copy Utility, Creativity Suite, EasyPrintModule, and the ICC Profile. The autorun list the Creativity Suite but not the others. I don't know if they are part of the initial driver/scan software or the Creativity Suite.

Has anyone tried installing the optional software on Windows 7?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:EPSON Perfection V500 Photo Scanner

You are right in that Epson has an installer for each application.

Autorun should still give you a choice, typically an easy install and a custom install.

An easy install as you would expect installs all the apps, whereas a custom install gives you the choice as to what you install.

Personally, I'd just use Windows 7's scanning software, but it is your choice as to what you use.

I just purchased this scanner, have it set up OK and software installed OK. My problem is that when I insert the four 35mm slides into the holder and then press scan, the scanner scans and I get the result on my computer, but all I see is basically a "picture" of four black slides in the slide holder. When I zoom to see them better, I get Big black slides in the slide holder. I cannot see the pictures at all. There must be something simple that I am doing wrong. I am trying to scan old family slides for a family Christmas party and am getting desperate. I am using a Dell laptop Inspiron (1 year old) with XP operating system. Thanks for any help someone can provide.

The Windows 7 64bit driver installed fine and scanner is working great. I am having problem installing to Epson Utilities. The first is the Copy Utilities which lets the scanner copy to a printer. The other is the Event Utility which activates the four buttons on the scanner to do different functions. Both of these Utilities fail to install, complaining you need to be Admin to install. These worked great on Windows 7. I have admin privileges and also tried Run as Admin but no Joy. Also tried Compatibility but no joy. Any one have an Epson working on W8.

Thanks,

I had an Epson photo printer which worked fine with my Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner. The printer died. Replaced it with an HP photosmart 7960. Scanned photographs print just fine using the Epson Smart Panel software.
The "COPY" function returns this message:
"The copy utility is having difficulty communicating with the currently selected printer. Please check that the printer has been installed correctly."
I had the man who installed all this for me in the first place try to fix the problem. Several reinstalls of both printer and scanner and eliminating all references to Epson printers, it still won't work. He has suggested just using the "photo" function on the Smart Panel. It works but you must use predetermined degrees of enlargement or reduction and that has proved to be very restrictive.

The computer is HP 7960. Microsoft XP.

The above is Kaput| I run Windows 98SE with USB 1 and when bought the machine worked as it should. one day it stopped. Removed all reference to it and reloaded software. Still no go. Took it in to local Epson repair point who eventually diagnosed a dry solder joint, took it home still no go, went back and on collection they ran it on their machine in front of me using Windows XP Pro and voila perfect. Took it home, no go. My computer does recognise the scanner and says all drivers are OK. It does go through some motions but then refuses to go into scan mode. I am using Epson Scan 2.50 software and I have downloaded the latest from Epson site and it still wont go. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Anyone had problems installing the "Epson Perfection 2400 Photo" Scanner ?I can see the scanner in "Control Panel" -"Scanners & Cameras". I can use the wizard to scan with! I can scan through the Import WIA Support in Photoshop Elements!Unfortunately I'm unable to make the TWAIN drivers talk to my software. I don't have the option to use the TWAIN interface in Photoshop Elements, it's not even greyed or should that be grayed out. Soo... I have a some-what old, Epson Perfection 2450 PHOTO scanner. This evening when I went to scan something, everything went smooth and it scanned OK and the image came up, but then right when it was done, it began making thing high-pitched noise and the program froze.

It's never done this before, and while I pushed its power button and so forth, it would not stop with the high-pitched noise. I unplugged it and replugged it and I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but the Operating/power light went off, the scaning light went off and now it, well.... won't work. My computer doesn't recognize anything's there when I plug in the USB and I have tried and tried, but the lights won't come back on.

Did this thing finally crap out, or is there some way to fix it that doesn't require bringing it to a tech area?

Thank you.

I've decided after 3 weeks to install my new scanner. It appeared to be "a piece of cake", got some photies copied in, wonderful. Then I tried to shut down. Oh what palava! Blue screen stating hardware failure (of course I didnt write down the actual words). Turned off and restarted. Up comes XP Home (before I forget to put that), and all seems OK.On logging in as me the PC decides I've got new hardware ?? You need to install new driver, hardware wizard appears. Not on CD do you want to install from internet. OK I say, no connection. PANIC! Looked at device manager, has "simple network connector" with yellow ?, disabled, still no dial-up. COMPLETE PANIC! Restored to before install of scanner, now OK.My question is "What was missing? What did it think I had added? How do I get the thing installed correctly?". I have now downloaded the TWAIN driver (I always wanted to be one) from the Epson site, but thought I'd check it out here before I go for the re-install... ANY assistance gratefully accepted. :o)

A while ago I was scanning 35mm slides using my Epson Perfection 2480 scanner. It was situated on a lower shelf of my PC console. To make it more convenient I lifted the scanner and placed it on a nearby work surface. I disconnected the cable from the scanner and, I put it down, re-connected the cable When I tried to scan the light worked but I got a black space where I should nave had the photographs. I assumed that I installed the cable the wrong way round but putting it in a different positionmade no difference. What ispossibly damaged and how can I put it right? It is a great scanner otherwise. Here's hoping. redeyenewby

Answer:Epson Perfection 2480 scanner photo not working

I doubt if its anything to do with the cable change, more likely when you moved the scanner, you may have dislodged something inside. Check the seating of the cartridges for a start.
Have you ran any test checks other than just trying to use the printer/scanner?.

I have a Epson Perfection 4490 Photo Scanner and I bought a new pc with windows 7 home edition on it. I pressed the "copy" button on the scanner, and I got a response "failed to copy". I wrote Epson, and they told me they don't have drivers for this to work for windows 7 and that I may have to get "third party" to make this work. Everything else on the scanner works, except the copy button on the scanner to send the scan object to my laser P2015 laser jet. Epson has not replied to my latest answer to them on "Why isn't there a fix for windows 7 for this to work?".

Does anyone know of free softward that will make this scanner "copy" from it to a printer. I don't know why epson hasn't got this yet, I think that's unfortunate that a big company like them don't have a patch / driver for windows 7.

Thanks

Answer:Solved: Epson Perfection 4490 Photo Scanner

Seems a little strange that Epson would leave out one item. I have found new drivers for 32 and 64 bit Windows 7. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/...V_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=70504&infoType=Overview. I would uninstall the old ones and then install the new ones. If it still does not work then scan the item into a photo program and then send it to print. I know it's extra steps but it gets the job done. I doubt that anyone other than Epson is going to make drivers for your machine.

Wait a minute I found this at http://driverscollection.com/?H=Perfection 4490&By=Epson 4490&By=Epson. Of course they could be the same driver package that Epson offers. The other sites I found all appear to be sites with drivers pre Windows 7.

Has anyone else had problems installing this? At first I had ikernell.exe error notices and Epson help-centre pointed me in the direction of a microsoft patch to download, which corrected the problem. Then I was pointed to the newsoft website where I followed the directions to remove the software, download another file and reinstall. I still got installation error messages but, strangely, was able to scan to a file on my computer.I have since repeated the reinstall with the same error messages and end-result, except that the preview panel seems to have gone AWOL. A few months ago I installed a Ali M5273 PCI card to provide a USB2 capability on my Evesham 2200 which originally only came with USB1 ports. I have successfully connected devices (eg Pentax camera) through the new ports. However I have now tried, and failed, to connect an Epson 3490 scanner via one of the USB2 ports. HI,  I have above named scanner; it works good (although a bit slow)--I'm happy with it.I would like to know how to contact Epson about extending the negative film function.  I need to scan some odd sized negatives but the scanning firmware (I guess) it just set up for the frames supplied with the scanner--not large enough for an old 4" x 6" negative.I have tried many things to get it to scan this size, even made up a black sheet with the 4 x 6 hole cut in it to fit the negative, but of course it will only scan the dimensions that the program offers, and maintains a certain aspect ratio that screws things up!I suspect that it is probably impossible but it's worth a try.KJ

So we un-installed the drivers and tried again via Epson Instructions,  now we get the  message "Please install the supported Twain driver". .  Can any body tell me what is going on an how to work the problem??  Thanks for looking guys,  JIM

Just thought I'd pass along some info I came across after setting up my newest 64 bit machine and connecting an older but definitely not outdated Epson Perfection scanner. I really love this scanner and it's auto-restoration features for older photos, so I was not willing to give it up. I found the following website with instructions for finding the correct drivers.
Nafcom's Crap Blog!: Epson Perfection 2480 Photo: Vista X64 drivers work in Windows XP X64!
Apparently, Epson built support for x64, but hid the drivers within the installer for 32 bit systems. No search on any version of their support website shows driver downloads under 64 bit. I did what was described in that article, and have my scanner working beautifully on Vista x64. I can say that I downloaded drivers both from the European site as well as the U.S. site. The driver file each installs is no different, but the scan utility is a slightly different version. I went with the U.S. version in the end, it being what looks like a higher version number (3.04a instead of 3.0u... hard to tell if there's any real difference, as there was no language issues or anything).

Answer:Epson Perfection 2480 Photo scanner works in Vista x64

For anyone who is interested, this worked for me. The only thing I did differently from the OP is that I went ahead and used the German file.

So far, the scanner is working just fine.

I could never used my Epson Perfection 2450 Photo Scanner after I got my new computer several years ago with Windows 7 64 bit. After googling for answers and finding one that might work that was third party and around $80, I packed it up and stored it for years in the bottom of my closet. Today I drug it out, thinking of donating it in case someone else can get it to work. It was a great scanner, and would do slides and great high resolution. Now that it is time to upgrade to Windows 10, I'm not sure if it would work on that if I did manage to get it working on my current Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone have any experience getting their same Epson scanner working on Windows 7 or 10 64 bit? I sure hate to end up junking the scanner!

Hi Carrie,
Thats coz its a 32 bit equipement, i take it the company was Hamrock / Vuescan.
You could try installing it in compatability mode.

I have thus far been able to get my 4870 scanner working. I have tried the EPSON recommended drivers for Win10 and several versions of Vuescan. The drivers seem to install OK but as soon as the install completes an error message appears stating that there is no scanner attached. If anyone has had a similar problem and gotten it resolved I'd sure like to know how you did it...

thanks

Answer:Unable to get Win10 to recognize EPSON 4870 Photo Scanner

To determine plug and play device detection, you need start in Device Manager
> Do you see Device Manager refresh as you plug/unplug the scanner from the port? (Of course, scanner should also be turned on)
> When plugged in the device should appear under Imaging Devices or an Other Device category. Do you see a device appear in either when the usb cord is plugged into the port?

Windows XP Home Edition, 512M RAM, 120 gig hard drive(80 gog available), scanner connected via USB.

Epson Perfection 2400 scanner - Purchased December 2003, installed and worked like a charm until approximately 2 months ago. Now when I try to run EPSON SCAN software, get following message:

"Escndv.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience." - well, so am I.

Have reloaded Epson software from CD supplied. Have downloaded updated drivers from Epson website. Have spoken to Epson who says it's a Microsoft Windows problem and I need to talk to them. Called Microsoft, spoke to a nice gentleman in India who had me restore system to earliest available restore date - didn't work, not early enough. No other suggestions from India.

INTERESTING OBSERVATION. When I load the supplied software from supplied CD onto my wife's computer (running XP), everything works fine!

I do run several programs to detect and eliminate harmful spyware, dataminers, etc. (Ad-aware, SpyBot, Evidence Eliminator, etc). Don't know if this has anything to do with my problem.

I was going to try my luck with Epson again when I discovered this website. Anyone out there got any suggestions?

Yesterday I tried to install new ink cartridges into my printer. ( EPSOM 880 Colour. ) When I powered off the printer the ink carriers stayed to the right when they are supposed to go to the left of the interior to allow access to the housings for the cartridges. The only way I found to get around this was to start to print something, then power off the printer whilst it was some way alomg the printing route. After changing the cartridges with new ones I resumed printing. The ink cartridge indicators now still show both empty and printing is erratic. The test printouts indicated that the heads needed to be cleaned, which I did OK, but when printing text the spacer lines are almost blending together. D I need to reinstall the software and install as a "new" printer?

Hi all

I have owned my Epson R300 since January and have done a lot of colour printing with it since. I have only ever used genuine cartridges in it and up until recently haven't had any problems. A few days ago I tried to print something, and it came out a sickly greeney-blue colour. I did a nozzle check and discovered that neither of the magentas was printing. I had only changed the cartridge about 3 weeks before hand, and when I checked the level of ink, every cartridge was still showing above 75% ink left. I did several nozzle checks and cleans, and tried printing off images that were mainly pink. The occasional horizontal line of pink came out, but only about 1% of the image that should have been pink, came out pink. The rest came out yellow - I imagine that the pink that it should have been would be a mixutre of the yellow and magentas. I just bought a new set of cartridges reluctantly (they're so expensive, I hate having to change two when they should still be good for a lot more prints). I changed the two magentas, and on the nozzle check, they now come out, but the cyan is no longer coming out. Obviously it's a problem with my printer and not the cartridges. I have always changed the cartridges when the printer tells me to, which is usually all 6 at the same time, so I don't think I have done anything wrong there. I am loathe to swap out the cyan cartridge in case it fixes that problem, but stops another cartridge from working. I hate knowing tha... Read more

My 18 month old Epson Perfection 4870 scanner has just developed a problem.

The unit was functioning when switched off but when turned on the next day failed to operate. The scanner started to make the usual "warming up" noises but after a second or so started to make some unusual "clicking" sounds. after a few seconds the noise stopped, the red LED at the front of the unit started flashing and an error message was displayed on the monitor screen: "No response from the Scanner. Make sure the scanner is ... etc".

I have tried checking the USB connectors, switching the scanner off and then on again, re-booting the computer, disconnecting the USB cable & turning the scanner on, checking the transportation locks, tried scanning by various means (smart panel, twain etc) but the same problem occurs - the red LED flashes and the green LED fails to illuminate. I lifted the lid and observed mechanism below the scanners glass plate during an attempted start. The carriage (sorry I don't know the teminology for the part that does the physical scanning) lights up briefly and attempts to move from its position at the back of the scanner. It only moves a few mm's before the clicking starts and it returns to it's original position.

I suspect a hardware problem with the scanner itself but, as it has had little use and was quite expensive, I do not want to scrap the unit if a repair is economical.

Could anyone please help?

I desperately need advice on how to get my Epson Perfection 1640SU scanner to work on my HP Media Center m7760 PC, Vista Ultimate OS, 32 bit, 2038MB RAM.  I used same scanner with previous Compaq, XP, no problems.  I downloaded the driver for Vista from the Epson site. When I click on Windows Fax & Scan, then Select Device, the choose Scanner, I have two choices: Epson Perfection or Xerox Work Center (don?t know where Xerox came from). Clicking on Test Scanner for Perfection gives message: Successfully Completed. However, I cannot get the scanner to scan. Epson tech says it will open in Paint, but it doesn?t. Thanks for any direction you can give to me.

Answer:Epson scanner, Vista problem

It looks like Epson has not written any new software for your scanner to work under Vista. They have written a TWAIN driver however, which is a very basic driver that needs an image handling utilty (like Paint) to operate. That's probably why Epson told you to go through Paint.Your normal scanning procedure that you are accustomed to under XP (Smart Panel perhaps) likely won't work until they tweak it for Vista. If the Vista32 TWAIN driver is properly installed, you will see your scanner's icon in Control Panel. You will also find it in Device Manager. The TWAIN driver download is on this page:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14584&prodoid=32722&infoType=Downloads&platform=AllPost back if the scanner won't install and someone will help you.A free image handler that is useful in these situations is Irfanview :http://www.irfanview.com/ Have no idea were that Xerox file came from.

This usually indiates that something has gone wrong within the OS which is stopping some of the scanner driver from working. I suggest you start by, once again, uninstalling your scanner. Try loading Windows in safe mode to see if this repairs the problem, and failing this you may have to resort to repair tools click hereor a reinstallation over-the-top.

Have been using an Epson Expression 1600 color scanner on an Emachines running XP SP3. Have run this application for a few years no problem but suddenly the software for the scanner fails to load.
The procedure to run the scanner was as follows;start the scanner and wait for it to light up.
start the Epson software and and begin the scanning process.

The problem I have now is that the software looks like it has loaded but then it minimizes itself and retreats to the task bar and after a few seconds disappears altogether!

There had been a previous display problem from time to time but this was resolved with more board memory and installing a new display card with additional memory. It does not explain the failure of my Epson scanner software. I have updated the software but still get the same problem.

Nor can I find out how to view if there is any ink in the cartridges.Could someone help with this please? Many thanks,Mike

Answer:Epson Stylus Photo price+problem help please

IMHO .... No! 20 at most. One can buy on-line for only 34. Set of Epson inks cost approx 41!If you have the driver disc, then the full Manual is usually on the same disc. Or you should be able to download the manual from the Epson website.

Having had this printer running happily on my old PC running ME. I moved it to a newer PC running ME. The printer installation program is unable to find the printer on the USB port and always sets it to LPT1. There is no LPT1 on this printer. I have tried pointing it to the USB port (EPUSB1)but the printer does not respond. The printer is shown as a drive letter and memory cards inserted can be viewed, as on my previous PC.

Answer:Epson stylus Photo 925 USB printer problem

Haven't got an an answer to the problem but have had exactly the same problem with swopping a C70 and a colleague with a 760 stylus. I had to keep un-installing the printer and re-installing to get it to load correctly numerous times , on the last attempt the system froze and on re-start the printer was their but the status monitor was missing which was added later. Now I get an error message if I switch the printer on before start-up but all is O:K if I switch on later? My work colleague gave up and connected is older printer up to the LPT port.

Trying to load Epson Perfection 1650 scanner onto replacement PC the installation disk will only install the Smart Panel. It worked OK 3 years ago on the last PC

Answer:Problem loading Epson 1650 scanner

Windows Wizard has found the scanner so perhaps the fault is that Twain does not connect to the scanner. How can I get them to link?

A couple of weeks ago my TP-Link wireless router packed up. Through the support team, I eventually realised it needed replacing. This took ten days, during which time I had no wireless connectivity, preventing internet access and use of an Epson SX535WD printer.
When I eventually got a new router and access to the internet, I found I could not connect my printer. Epson support helped me get it connected so I can now print and copy. But it will not connect to the scanner – I get ‘Cannot communicate with the scanner’ error message. Epson support took me through various tests/adjustments but, though everything suggested that the scanner should be working, it wasn’t. Epson think it may be a problem on my pc (Dell, Windows 7) but I am at a loss as to what. Have tried disabling firewall and anti-virus but to no avail.
I’m not at all technically minded and am quietly going round the twist wondering what the hell to do. Can anyone advise, please?

Answer:problem connecting Epson SX535WD scanner

I've got the same printer and haven't had any problems at all. You should be able to scan from printer to pc. Does that work?
Have you uninstalled the software on the pc and re-installed it? I suspect that the printer has a new IP address compared to the TP-link and the PC is looking for the old address.

Does anyone have problems installing Twain 5 Driver in Windows 7 and in get the scanner recognised???

I followed the help posted in this forum and got no results.

But tried the following:

Fisrt of all unplugged scanner usb cable;
Then uninstalled existing Twain driver (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/...Type=FAQ&oid=14548&prodoid=6464128&foid=32323);
Then reinstalled Twain driver (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/..._UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14548&infoType=Downloads);
Reconnet your scanner usb cable
Then in Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers select you Epson scanner and Properties
Look for Update Driver
Select Browse My Computer
Then chose the following directory to look into - C:\Windows\inf - and select Include Subfolders.

This solved my problems and now my Epson Perfection 1250 is working under Windows 7.

Hope it helps you

problem is the scanner driver will not complete its installation.

Answer:epson 410 scanner driver instal problem on win xp

Hi

What service pack is your Windows XP at? are you fully up to date with all critical XP updates?

Uninstall all Epson drivers and/or software, then enter Device Manager and look down the list for Universal Serial Bus Controllers and check if you have any that mention Printer or Epson, if you do right click and choose Uninstall.

Then in the same Device Manager, check Imaging Devices and if this is listed as Epson then right click uninstall, next look in Printers and if your Epson is listed the again right click > uninstall.

Next in Device Manager click the View menu option (at very top menu bar) and choose "show hidden devices", then look through Device Manager and the catagories for anything Epson related, and uninstall.

Then unplug the USB cable from the printer and disable your Anti-virus/Anti-malware software from starting at boot (what anti-virus or malware software do you have installed), as on occasion these software's may halt an install.

Then reboot and double check your security software/s are not running and plug in your USB printer cable and install the latest driver from Epson HERE (if you have an old version off CD/DVD or download, delete it and get the latest version), then once installed, reboot and test printer, if all ok then enable your security software/s and test printer again.

If you get any error messages when installing please do tell us what they are in full.

Just purchased a new Dell Studio 540 PC with Vista Home Premium 64 bit. My Epson 3590 Photo scanner does not open a preview page when scanning 35mm colour negatives. This feature works fine on old PC with XP Pro SP3. I am running latest drivers V3.04A and have reinstalled the software and have tried disabling all startup programs using MSConfig as suggested by Epson. I have also tried running Epson Scan in Windows 98/ME & XP mode but no different. I have noticed on various forums that there are a few other people around with the same problem. Any assistance with this would be most appreciated.

Answer:Problem with Epson 3590 Scanner with Vista x64

Surely epson have told you that they have not issued a 64bit driver for that scanner? Certain things do not really work with 64bit but hopefully as W7 take up with 64bit happens more will be done. If you have an old xp 32bit license you could run the virtual pc software and install xp on that.

I have an Epson GT 1500 scanner which I bought on the assumption that it carried an OCR facility but not being very technical I could not work out how to get it working so I contacted Epson Chat. Eventually after being on line for 15 minutes I received the answer that they are not trained on the Abbyy OCR software and to go there. There must be a simple way to operate it but I not what it is.

I have an HP Pavilion 500 Desktop PC which is now running Windows 10 Anniversary Update. I am trying to Install Epson Easy Photo printer (for Epson Expression XP-620). I am being blocked from doing so from either the installation cd that came with the printer or from a downloaded version of the software from the Epson support site. What happens is that the installation starts and then informs me that an earlier version of the software (I have had several other Epson Printers installed in the past) must be removed before the new installation can proceed. When I initiate this I immediately get the message "Exit Setup -113" and the installation aborts. I have tried Removing all Epson software, drivers and any other folders/files relating to Epson using the "Programs and Features" function and also by deleting the same from Program Files, Program Files (x 86) and Programs Data on the 'C' Drive . I have also run CCleaner to try and mop up any odd bits of program and registry entries that might still be lingering All this to no avail as the above message keeps recurring. There is obviously something I am overlooking in all this and I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to overcome this persistent and annoying problem.

Hi all,

just tried to install ne epson sylus photo rx230. Plug an play dialog popped up and worked ok. Then put in CD to install the software, selected easy install option, and let it go. got to near end of install and the PC did a reboot with no warning. got a few messages about windows not shut down properly, but now just gets into a cycle of rebooting and I have had to power it off.

windows xp prof opsystem.

What happened to plug and play. Any ideas appreciated.

Answer:Epson Sylus Photo Rx230 Install Problem

most USB devices need to have the drivers installed first, remove the drivers and software, turn off the pc, remove the printer, reboot and pop you driver disk in first, usually they'll tell you during the install when to plug in the USB. I've seen some printers use up enough power from the power supply via the usb, that it'll prevent windows from booting if the printer is on at the time you start your pc
