Preferred Solution: Outlook Express - date order

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm tracing my family tree, and have quite a few contacts now that send me data by email to Outlook Express. I have created a folder for each of them in my ?In Box? as a dropdown menu, but as there is now a fair amount for each person in each folder, I want to put all the emails in date order received,(and sent). Is this possible? If not, is there any way that I could transfer them easily to an external drive maybe? I do transfer the data to a family tree program on my PC, but I need to go back to individual emails at times so that I do not duplicate items that I have sent before etc. I try to cross reference by date order in the program. Any ideas would be very welcome.

Can anyone please advise how to get my e-mails downloaded in Day/date order instead of any order.I am using Outlook 2000 windows 98seThanks.

Answer:down load e-mails in date order outlook 2000

I'm not sure that you can change the order in which they are actually downloaded. However, you can change the order in which they are displayed. If you click on the "Received" tab it will sort them. Click it again and it will reverse the order and so on. You can also click e.g. the From tab to sort them that way.

Why does it say that I will receive the laptop 2 weeks from now when it says that I should expect it within 1-3 days?

Answer:Dell site says XPS 15 gets delivered in 1-3 days, the order date for my order is 2 weeks from now...

Generally when that happens there has been a burst of orders, or there is a part on back order and the sales site hasn't been updated yet.  The delivery times are just estimates and could be sooner or later depending on various conditions.

Today I was advised by a friend that my date stamp on my email came in a couple hours ahead of what time it actually was. I noticed the same thing on my incoming mail. The thought was my clock was off, but it was fine. When I open the mail the date stamp is correct. I believe I took in an update from Microsoft yesterday that addresses the fact that Daylight Savings Time is coming three weeks earlier this year than XP is expecting. I there any word out there of this being a flaw in the download?

Hi all,My outlook express 6, when i forward my email the date inside the original email date is changing today date. Actually this email received by last two weeks ago. If we forward the existing email inside sent items it have two dates, one is the old email's incoming date and another one is our current date. But all two dates is changing the current today right now date time. So strange! Is anyone have an idea please?Best Regards,Horace

Answer:Outlook express forward today date

horacetrever, suspect that what you need to do is c/p the fwd. into a new mail and send it rather than simply fwd. it. If you desire, put the original date in the new title. You will have today's date on the mail, but you can show the original date within the body of the mail if you'd rather. It also gives you the option to get rid of that annoying chain of fwd. addresses if you wish.HTHEd in Texas

Hi everybody,

i got the problem in my outlook express that in the date and time.
The problem is, let say i send email on 25 Mar 2005 and the time is 1.05pm.
But when the receiver receive the email, the email date shown is 26 Mar 2005 and the time is 4.25am. That mean the receiver cannot know the exact date and time i send to him.
And my computer date and time is no problem.
So anybody can give me advce for this problem?

Answer:outlook express error date and time

But when the receiver receive the email, the email date shown is 26 Mar 2005 and the time is 4.25am.Click to expand...

Does that happen with email from anyone but you?

The receiver (or you) should click the clock in the system tray and check to make sure the time and date are correct. And also the time zone. Other than that, it could be a server or the location of the server that is causing the problem.

I have a problem with Outlook Express. When I delete emails I no longer want to keep (from Inbox, Outbox, Sent and any of my other Local Folders) and then run Scandisk it will frequently show an error (and sometimes more than one error). A typical error message looks like -

Window Heading - 'Scandisk Found an Error on Model 93 (C

The 'C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express'
folder contains incorrect information about 'Sent Items.dbx'

This file or folder's last modified date or time is invalid or is in the future.
This may be because your computer's clock is set incorrectly.
ScanDisk repairs future dates by changing them to your computer's
current date setting. ScanDisk repairs out-of-range dates or time by
changing them to the nearest setting within the valid range.

Then there is a choice of three repair options - I always choose to
'Repair the error'

The folder in the error message varies quite a bit as does the '.DBX' file. An other frequent error folder is
'C:\RECYCLED\NPROTECT and this is followed by a DBX file with 8 numeric digits followed by .dbx (eg 00004188.DBX

I should make it clear my system clock is at the correct time, I rarely change the time and, certainly, I don't change the time when I'm using any program (including Outlook Express).

Anybody got an idea as to the cause of these errors? Thanks.

It looks like the 31 March deadline for the latest Edge promotions is the date of invoice rather than the date of order. Given Lenovo's reported long build time and slow delivery (= late invoice), I suspect that ording now from the Lenovo web site will see an invoice date outside the qualifying period. Even a dealer who says he can 'get one in' may not deliver and invoice until April or beyond. I think the only option is to find a dealer who unequivocally has current stock. Can anyone shed any light on the likely position. I do, though, wonder about trying to take advantage of Lenovo Cashback at all, given the horror stories reported here.

Answer:Edge 31 March promotion deadline - order date or invoice date?

My experience with cashback is a deathly silence from Lenovo to emails asking for progress on the cash or even recognition that there has been a registration for cashback...Currently considering giving Lenovo some publicity on the matter.Unless you have a lot of time to possibly get no where I would steer clear of the alleged cashback scheme...

Not true that Start>Documents are always in alphabetical order - you must have done a right click and then Sort By Name at some time; Sort By Name is also available in Programs, Favourites etc.If you disable this it will only list the documents, files and other items used in the order they were undertaken.

Happy Holidays, everybody!

I've got a 90th birthday picture project that I'm assembling and am getting pictures from several sources. Sometimes I'll get two or three sets of image files, all of which are labeled "img_001.jpg, img002.jpg, img003.jpg", etc. These come from several past years. When they're dumped from a thumb drive to my working folder, and then displayed, they get all intermixed. (I use irfanview to view the collection, to assure they're sharp focused, etc.)

I sorted the folder by date, went to the first file and launched irfanview. I get the selected file. If I click the "next arrow", I might get the next physical file, not the next-by-date. The program has a slideshow function that will sort it for you and display by date.

What I really want is to get the files into the date order physically on the disk, so that when copied onto a digital picture frame, for example, it will play sequentially by date if possible. I don't know that they have a lot of intelligence, to sort the pix by itself.

I tried sorting by date and the copying to a different folder on a different disk, but it always changes when I access it afterward. With 400+ pictures, I don't want to do them one-by-one.

Any freeware out there that'll do it for me?

Thanks!

Hello and good morning to u all. I have itunes on my windows XP machine which ive been using for over 4 years...i think itunes is the best music player out there, but ive got one problem that i'm hoping that can be sorted out for me here today. I have an extensive music library(like most people)...and my music is sorted by DATE ADDED,...as i'm accustomed to this way...but here is my problem...when I sort by date added...the track numbers in the all my albums appear out of order....just like here:click hereI'm sure like myself, there are loads of people that like to listen to an album in the EXACT WAY that is on the CD recorded by the artist. I know i can re-arrange this as a playlist but its a lot of hassle and it wont solve the problem in my actual music library which will still show in the incorrect order. There MUST be a solution out there.....When I listen to music I most start my listening session with the music I have added most recently. If I have added an entire album recently I want to hear the album in the order the "artist" intended it to be heard. I would think many people would be keen to hear the things they have added most recently. The lack of an option to sort by "Date Added by Track#" is terribly annoying for me.

For a long time, if I downloaded a folder from Google chrome, it would go to the downloads folder in Microsoft explorer with the latest downloaded file on top. I'm not sure how I changed it, but somehow the download folder now has the looks of the music library with categories in the details view of "name","contributing artist", "title", "album". I can sort them by name alphabetically, but not by date downloaded. If I don't remember the name of the download, I'll have to search for it in this huge folder of lots of different downloads, and if it has a weird name as some downloads do, it will be difficult. When I download photos from my Sony Cybershot to my notebook, using Windows Camera wizard to MY PICTURES relevant sub-file, they remain in the jpg file (& date) number order. But when I view or edit them in MS Picture Manager, I find some of my photos date order has been mixed-up compared to the order of taking and storing them on the camera folder and in the Explorer/My Pictures sub-file. So, when I simply wish to view them in a slideshow sequentially they are of course displayed as well out of order. Nor can I find a facility in MS PM to re-arrange them in date order? Furthermore, MS PM will not allow me to drag & drop them back into the date order (which would be a long job sometimes with holiday photos in any case!).

Has anybody a solution how to overcome this frustrating time-waster, please?

Hi,
I would like to use a VLOOKUP formula in my bank statement sheets in order to populate item codes from a lookup table. Some of the entries (lookup values) in a statement contain a date in the form of ddmmm (e.i. 21JUL). Is there a way of creating a VLOOKUP formula that will ignore the date in the lookup value and therefore populate correct item codes into the statement sheets...for example I have several instances of the entry BANK TRANSFER ON ddmmm, where ddmmm is the date (21JUL, 11AUG, 05SEP). I would create a lookup table with a single entry BANK TRANSFER ON and the VLOOKUP formula will recognise this entry ignoring the date in the lookup value.
Hope it makes sense. Thank you in advance. Heidi

Hi,
can anyone give me a step by step description, how i can export my Emails and the Address book from Outlook Express 6 to another Computer which runs also Outlook Express 6?
I tried already to export the Address book but it only allows me to export it as a *.csv-File and after i put the data on my usb stick and try to import it on my new computer by File - Import - Addressbook, the program keeps asking me for a *.wab-File? (btw: i can only use the: "Text File (Comma Separated Values))" Option, when exporting the address book.

Export and Import from email messages doesn't work either.

Has anyone a really step-by-step description how to do this??

Thank you very much in advance for your help

Answer:Solved: Import & Export from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook Express 6

Hi wizzle2003

When you are ready to Import the .csv file on the destination computer,
In Outlook Express,
File > Import > Other Address Book
You should then be given the option to choose a Text File (Comma Separated Values)
Then Browse to the .csv file to complete the Import.
Enable Show Hidden Files and folders:

Open My Computer,
Tools > Folder Options > View tab,
under Hidden Files and Folders, verify Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
Remove the check mark for Hide Extensions for known file types.
To locate the directory where Outlook Express keeps it's message store:
Tools > Options > Maintenance tab > Store Folder
Note the location, then Cancel out of the window.

Navigate to that directory, copy all the .dbx files to a folder on the Desktop.
Copy those files to a folder on the Desktop of the destination computer.
If you are using a Flash drive to transfer the files, it may take a couple of transfers to complete.

Once all the .dbx files are on the Destination computer,
Open Outlook Express,
Tools > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook Express 6 > Next
Select: Import mail from an OE 6 store directory
Click: OK
Browse to the folder containing the .dbx files on the Desktop.
When you reach the Finish button,
You should see a "Congratulations Your data was successfully imported"

If there is more than one Identity in Outlook Express, switch to the other Identities in Outlook Express and repeat the steps above.

I've just made my first compilation using NeroExpress 5.5.9.9 and adding tracks in order from 4 CDs the way I wanted them to be burned, after the Cd was burned the tracks were in the reverse order to that in which I selected them. Can't find any reference to compilation order in help file. Why do these things have to be so hornery. Appreciate and info from exeirenced NeroXpress users. My os is XPThanksspeeeby

Answer:Nero Express+ Track order in compilations

As you've taken tracks fron 4 CDs I assume you've written them to your hard drive as *wav files before burning. The easiest way to ensure they are in the order you want is to rename your wav files with a 2 character numeric prefix before burning. Nero tends to burn in numeric or alpha order. So 01 filename 02 filename etc. BTW you can re-order files by dragging them up / down

I'm using nero express, ver. 5.5.8.2. I just noticed that when I include individual tracks to burn, nero reversed their order.
when in nero:
1. I choose "audio cd"
2. add
3. go into destination folder
4. highlight all tracks I want to include
5. finish

nero displays those tracks while being added in the proper order... 1 thru 13, but the tracks are then displayed in reverse order! It re-numbers them... 1 becomes 13,etc.
when the cd is burned, the tracks are also in reverse order.

this does NOT happen in nero burning rom.

any suggestions?
thanks.

Answer:nero express reversing track order

Last time I burned a disk with nero express there are arrow buttons to raise and lower single tracks when you have one highlighted. Unfortunately, you have to move the tracks one by one to the order you want them in.

The problem is when I click on import, I get the wizard which prompts me to click on the 'old email program'. There is Outlook Express 4 and Outlook Express 6...no 5 to choose!!!! So how do I import these files!!

Please help!

Thanks...

Answer:How to import files from Outlook Express 5 to Outlook Express 6?

Hi Melissa, Welcome to TSG! First, make sure you can view hidden files and folders and do a search for your OE5 .dbx files. Find > *.dbx
Remember the location!

Then to import from OE5 into OE6, click
File > Import > Messages > OE6, then select "Import from an OE6 store directory" and Browse to the folder containing the OE5 *.dbx files. Make sure they are not set to 'read only'.

Dear Forum ;-)

One of our artists is going to be moving from a Mac to a PC (Windows XP), and we need to be able to move his existing Outlook Express messages from the Mac to the PC version of Outlook Express. I did catch this thread:

http://forums.techguy.org/t39571/s6355aab44212d144ad0c5c591fdb21ab.html

but the link to the "OE Exporter" is broken. It looks like it worked, too. Does anyone have any suggestions, or a new link to OE Exporter?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Folks

I am trying to import OE5 .dbx files from a Win2k machine to a completely different machine (Win2003) with OE6. Everytime I try to import the DBX files I get an error message stating:

"No messges can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open..."

The thing is I have even tried copying the DBX files from the old machine to the new machine and importing them from a directory on the new machine. I stil get the same message!

Another strange thing is the impor facility on OE6 does not provic an option import OE5 files, only OE4 & OE6.

I've already imported my mail accounts and address book, just not my messages.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thx in advance.

I'm helping a friend upgrade her computer and one of the things I did was helped her acquire and install a copy of Personal Office 365, which includes Outlook 2016. She's been doing her email on Outlook.com until now but now wants to use Outlook 2016.

I'm trying to figure out how to make all her various folders and email visible in Outlook 2016 but have no idea how to do it; I have very little experience with either Outlook or Outlook.com.

Can someone tell me what I need to do? It would be absolutely fine to point me to a tutorial; I just don't know what search term to use with Google. I have to assume this is a simple, routine thing that millions of people have done. I just don't know where to find instructions.

She's running Windows 10 as her OS.

Hi. Here's a little info on Outlook files:
Introduction to Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost) - Outlook

Your pst/ost file needs to be located and copied, (for a backup). You then export it through the O2013 program, and import it to the new outlook 2016.

Edit: no, wait - she was using Outlook.com? hmmm.....now I have to think about that. I think you can just setup the account in O2016, and everything should sync?

I guess this is going to be more expensive than the new x800 and 6800?
And is there a release date?

OP - Win 7, Browsers - Yahoo (primary) Google

I am so $#8&* tired of email malfunctions
Trial Office had expired, so I deleted it, opting for a free non-MS Office program. Unaware Outlook tied into Office, it got deleted too.
Had fee-based Office & Outlook reinstalled yesterday. No problems. Took a little time, but found Outlook in earlier version (2007?) loaded, cued it, and Outlook loaded intact with current emails.
Now I cannot find Outlook to load. Browser finds Outlook.com which is not what I want, and a slew of aftermarket programs for Outlook. Some sites offer Office/Outlook installation. Computer's Programs does not list it. I did nothing last night when finished, except close out programs I was working with, and shut computer down. I cannot fathom those actions would do anything to Outlook.
This is getting my demeanor quite out of whack. I depend on my email for my canine rescue work primary communication

My operating system is Windows ME, Compaq Presario. I need to back up all of my personal files to disk. Because of problems I had with a faulty drive, a new disk drive had to be installed. When the new drive was installed, they replaced my Adaptec software with Nero Express. I was very pleased with Adaptec, but Nero Express has not worked for me. Except for photos, I have not been able to successfully burn to disk. I have tried using CD-R as well as CD-RW disks, but no success. Initially, the issue of Joliet names was given as one reason for the burn process failure, so I shortened the names of several files listed in the fail-to-burn log, thinking that might solve the problem. Tried again. Still the burn failed for other reasons. I have no idea why. I cannot interpret the log. At one point, while trying to burn, I clicked a "yes" to something in the process, and although the burn still failed, when I went into Windows Explorer to find needed files, I discovered that Nero Express had actually altered the titles of a couple of files on my hard drive and had moved them to obscure locations. Some files may still be lost somewhere.

I don't know what to do. I tried to uninstall Nero Express and replace it with the Adaptec I had before, but the drive won't accept it.

In Outlook, I can have an email highlighted to see it in the preview pane. Sorting on most fields keeps the message selected. However, sorting on the FROM field always switches me off my selected message and automatically selects the first message at the top of the list.

This is VERY annoying, especially as I am trying to refer back to all messages from that sender. Is there a way to correct the Outlook behavior? I think it is pernicious to force me to look at some other message when I sort on the FROM field, especially when this bad behavior only occurs on sorting that one field.

Tried to find this info before posting, but could not locate it using my search line-of-thinking. Sorry if this duplicates any previous posts.

Answer:Outlook - sort order - FROM - odd behavior

if you were to remove the 'From' column . . . would you get the same result with next field? if not, re-add 'From' and see if the problem persist.

Using 2003, local rules, not stored on exchange server.

The rule screen claims "Rule (applied in the order shown)' but it doesn't do this in practice.

I have several senders who send messages that I want to be organzed based on task.

e.g.
Generically I want director's emails to go into a specific folder, unless it has specific words in the title. So...

1. 'specific words in subject' go into X folder.
2. 'director's email' go into Y folder

All general emails from director go into his folder.
But emails with those specific words go in to both X and Y folders. <-- why this is not processing in order =( it shouldn't reach the second rule with that email.

How would you like to sort the Tasks?

Right click on the column header: TaskPad you should get the option: Arrange By from there you can choose Custom settings.

An employee just got a new computer and after installing Outlook 2002, it lists the personal folders before the Mailbox on the folder list. I am swapping to Outlook finally... long story.

Anyway, Office 2010 Beta. The new Outlook is very cool.
Sometimes, after it's been open a while, in the right hand side of the bottom taskbar will be a green progress bar with the words "Downloading Folder order". The progress bar is already full and green. The words and progress bar pop up, flash a bit, then go away about every 10 seconds so it's fairly annoying.

Exiting the program and restarting make it stop and I have not figured out yet what makes it start.

Anyone know what Downloading Folder Order means?

I have not yet pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Syndicate, but I will do so tonight, whether it is from the online MS store or somewhere else. I want to order from the MS store for $15 in MyRewards credits, but will only do so if it does indeed arrive on release day. According to the website, it says this "Exclusive offer: Pre-order now and get a $10 Xbox gift card digital code within 10 days after the game's release.* Plus, pre-order by 10AM PST on October 21 and get it the day it's released." Hi,

I want to export messages from Outlook Express on my old machine to Outlook Express on my new machine. How do I do it if I don't have Microsoft Exchange server or don't want to export them to Outlook. I'm using Micosoft Office Pro 2003. Thank you in advance.

Answer:exporting Outlook Express to Outlook Express

The files you are looking for are in a folder called Outlook Express and will have the extensions .dbx

They will be in a directory path similar to the one I've include below except for the number enclosed in braces. If you don't find a path similar then just do a search for the directory Outlook Express.

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{F71B2263-58F5-45EF-8A2D-B337C0C73961}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Just replace the .dbx files on the new machine with the .dbx files from the old machine.

My OS crashed this morning (a corrupted NTOS exe file), and I couldn't boot, so I tried to boot from the installation CD and wound up installing W2K Pro again. In the process, all my mail messages were erased/displaced. I actually have a copy of the .dbx files in another folder.

I have imported OE mail messages (dbx files) before, several times before when I changed systems and HDs and have done so successfully. However, on this day, I cannot seem to 'get it right'. Here is what I did:

I copied the dbx message files to a folder on the C-drive (mail mesages 0523105). I then opened OE and under File, clicked on Import, then messages, them OE6, then OE6 store directory, then Next....The process imported only 12 of the 42 folders I had on the list, and no matter what I did, it only imported mail from those folders and none others.

Is there anything I am doing wrong, or should do in addition to what I have already done? Is there another method for importing OE6 mail messages to another OE6 application?

Thanks

polaris6

Answer:Importing Outlook Express into Outlook Express

I have done some experimenting since I posted the first message.

I created several .dbx files from the list of dbx folders I have for the messages. It doesn't seem to matter which folders I include in the dbx files, the same identical 12 folders show up as mail folders to be imported....even if they are not included on the list I created.

Apparently, there is a default list of folders that has not changed, or does not change when I select the mail folders to be imported. I guess I need to find out where these are and change them.

Thanks.

A user has created lots of personal folders. Some of these folders when selected are showing as 'There are no items to show in this view' even though at the bottom left of the screen it says that it contains eg. 30 items.

These folders are sorting by default to 'by flag' even though the user does not use flags. If he chooses to change the sort manually to 'by From date' or any other field, the messages then show as normal.

The user would like to set a default sort order for all existing and any newly created folders. Is this possible?

Thanks.

heyas;

Outlook (what version, not sure, c2002, version 10.something something)
Windows XP Pro

we're using a mail server (microsoft exchange server), and i'm trying to filter out -- guess what! -- JUNK!

i have two filters (RULES, i mean) that are giving me a problem.

the first rule looks for key junk words in the subject (you know the ones i mean), and throws the matching messages into the sub-folder Junk.

the second rule looks for @ in the sending address (all internet mail, yes. the inter-office official mailings supposedly don't have this in their address), and "my name" in the to/cc fields, and throws those into the External Mail folder.

both are sub-folders of the Inbox.

the problem is, no matter which order i run these rules in, stuff that matches the External Mail criteria gets thrown into External Mail, and IF it ALSO has the junk words, a COPY of it gets thrown into the Junk folder.
which is causing MORE junk in here, not less.
is there a way i can get this thing to sort to two different folders without it making duplicates? (get eudora, maybe? well, that's not an option at the office :/ )
thanks, guys!

Answer:Outlook Rules Execution Order and Clonnig Messages

FIXED:

if anybody cares, here's how i fixed it: somewhere in the nether bowels of the rules is an option to "stop processing rules on this message." add that to each sort criteria, then after the rules move it to "junk," they won't then copy it to "external mail."

Answer:inport outlook express emails and address book into office outlook in vista

Yes. OUTLOOK - FILE - IMPORT / EXPORT - IMPORT FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILE - OUTLOOK EXPRESS BTW - I've never tried it (I don't use Outlook Express). You can also try Exporting from Express and Importing to Outlook, though I'd guess the above method will work.

gang I found an old post here that describes my situation, something I caused but don't know how to undo.
The system in question has Windows XP Professional, and MS Office 2000 Professional, the main reason for which is OUTLOOK. When Outlook cranks up it triggers an error message which is in my subject line:
"Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express 4.01 or greater....". The system of course also has OE6 on it which we don't use, but it does work etc.

The issue is me: I use autoruns to shut off everything non-mandatory, and, as another thread-poster identified, there is something in the list of goods that I have disabled that OE is dependent on, if I understand the old thread properly. The problem is that the poster [OP] in that thread said he found the key, but he didn't NAME THE ENTRIES
Thus, I dunno which ones he reversed that made the issue go away.

if anyone knows, pls let me know, so I can fix my goof.

thx

In Win7x64, Google email in the form of HTML source becomes mangled in Office Outlook (which I've substituted for incompatible Outlook Express).

To replace Outlook Express, I first tried Thunderbird, and then Eudora. Only Office Outlook, which is part of MS Office, had all the functions and options of Outlook Express that I like, plus formatting and organization features.

I could use Web Mail with Gmail or ATT-Yahoo, to which I have access, but I prefer getting my mail to my PC and keeping it there.

Hello everyone (And sorry for such a long thread title!)

One of the elderly gentleman where I work, has been given a Dell laptop by his Son that's running W7 64bit.

He has a copy of Office 2000 that he would like to install on this machine, and use the bundled Outlook from it as his default e-mail client. The only problem is, the current desktop PC he's using, is running Windows XP (unsure which version) and he's got Outlook Express as his e-mail viewing software on there at the moment.

Can the profile (sorry if that's the wrong term) from XP's Outlook Express be "ported" into the Outlook from Office 2000, whilst all of this is running on W7 64bit?

Many, many thanks in advance

Answer:Migrating XP's Outlook Express to Office 2000's Outlook on W7 64bit

Office 2000 is not supported on Windows 7, and is insecure and past it's lifetime support. That said, there may be workarounds to get it to work on 7, but that's probably more difficult then your original question. I'd think your friend would need a newer version, then revisit can it be done For instance:

Import messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express

Import your messages or account from Outlook Express to Outlook - Outlook - Office.com

Trying to use Office 2000 would not be at all advisable.

Do you have to have both programs open? Is there another way to import addresses into OE?

I have over 13 years of Outlook Express folders and addresses that I desperately need to convert to Outlook 2007. I should have imported them into Outlook before I made the "Easy File Transfer" to the new Win 7 machine, but didn't know I needed to do that. Several years ago I had imported the files into Outlook, although that data did transfer it is now way out-of-date and full of duplicates.

The up-to-date data is still in my old machine and also in an external hard drive backup. I have isolated the Outlook Express personal folders into .dbx format and the addresses into .wab format.

Is there a way this can be reformatted into Outlook? Or is there some other way? I would probably also need to delete what is already in Outlook first, or I would have many more duplicates.

I welcome any suggestions.

See if this Microsoft tutorial can help.

Please note : there is ........
a link for Outlook and OE installed in the SAME computer
a link for Outlook and OE installed in DIFFERENT computers.

Hope that helps.

Editing ...... I don't use Outlook nor did I ever use OE, so I can't help you much other than to offer you the link above.
