Preferred Solution: which shopping cart to intergrate with dreamweaver

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: which shopping cart to intergrate with dreamweaver

Question: Shopping cart?

Can anyone recommend a good easy to use shopping cart program? I will be designing a website with a WYSIWYG editor but would like to integrate shopping facilities. Will be initially selling between 50 - 100 items first. Payment wise, I will be accepting paypal first but may use someone like worldpay if things take off. I dont really understand what the shopping cart program does exactly. I know that it handles the pricing and shipping, vat and basket feature but does it also take payments?I cant really afford to spend alot of money.

Answer:Shopping cart?

You could look at this - it intefaces well with the Web-Easy Pro WYSIWYG website creator (which I use and recommend.)click here

Answer:Shopping Cart

Which language(s) are you familiar with and, probably more important, which server is the project supposed to be capable of running on when completed.A Linux/Unix web server will normally limit you to PHP with MySQL while Windows hosting will allow you to use ASP or .NET, but other options are out there like Perl/CGI, ColdFusion and Java, for example. For a really simple solution you could use plain HTML with some clever form handling to process your 'orders' and calculate payment, VAT and delivery etc.It would help to know whether you are expected to write an underlying database of products from which to choose or if you have items X, Y and Z and all you offer are quantities of those at fixed prices.Get back with more detail and one of us will point you in the right direction - include the software you have available to you for writing your web and whether or not this is to be data driven.RegardsTaran

There are a lot of them out there. How much do you want to pay?OsCommerce is open source, therefore free, and has all manner of bells and whistles, including many payment gateways:click hereThe only problem is that it is an out-of-the-box, complete shop so if you already have the web site set up with a shop on it might require a complete re-write.

I downloaded CubeCart and am trying to work on it in either Dreamweaver or the File Manager on my server. Either one will work but I'm CLUELESS as to where to start.

I don't know how to put this all together and make it work and the installation instructions may has well be written in Greek. I don't know where to start...there are two header.php and two index.php and two of this and two of that and you get the drift. HELP....I need someone to walk me thru this or I may just lose my mind.

I downloaded Cube Cart cause I can *mangle* the logo easier than I can the one on osCommerce. At least I did when I was using the server I had before but that one had it laid out where I could identify which files were I am on my own. This isn't a Fantasico or C-panel. Liz

Answer:Okay, I am trying to put together my shopping cart

First off, does your web server or web site meet the requirements for using CubeCart? PHP 1, MySQL on a Unix/Linux Server?

Question: shopping cart

To start off, I'm a beginner web designer, developer and webmaster.

I've made a couple of websites using pure html/css and in one of the sites, a touch of javascript.

As my job oppertunities keep coming, and the complication of the jobs increase, I'm going to need to expand my knowledge to things like online shopping and that sort of thing. This opens up a whole new level of webmastering that I'm not experienced in. It demands much more attention due to important aspects like security.

Can anyone give me some useful links or resources that can help me get started on the right foot? My main concern right now is learning how to include online shopping abilities in a website.

Answer:shopping cart

I had to use FishCart for a project at school, I couldn't get it to work right for me on CentOS, but other websites have gotten it to work. I believe 3.2 wouldn't work right for me, so to salvage my grade I had to use 3.1; but it may have been the otherway around. I can't even access my files to check for you, as the system that has the files is currently in need of a motherboard. Here's a link to it. It runs on Windows and Linux, depending on what you develop on, and is written in PHP.

Hi ppl,Im working on a group ecommerce assignment. We having problems with the shopping cart. We basically sell 5 products, sport_tickets, music_tickets, music_merchandise, sport_merchanidse, and coach_tickets. Each of these have their own table in the database with a primary key. However problem we have with our shopping cart is that it only displays one product and not any others becuase we have them all in separate tables. I would rather not put all the products in one table, to protect normalisation. If anyone could point out some PHP code that lets our shopping cart display all the products based on our current database state i would nbe greatly appreciated and hey mite even pay some reward lol.Thank You

on the same subject. Keep to one please, otherwise there'll be confusion. I'll close this one, as I've already responded in the second thread.

Is there somewhere I can go to just get the code so I can "copy and paste" into an html form? what language would it use? Java, php, html, etc.

I am putting together an e-commerce website and will obvioulsy need a script for my shopping cart. I have downloaded a copy of Oscommerce and am playing around with that but it does require a reasonable knowledge of PHP. I have also looked at X-Cart and from some of the forum articles I have read, there seems to be a general consensus that x-cart and its smarty templates are easier to manipulate. Does anyone have experience with either of these (good and bad) or has any suggestions before I start? Also, do using free scripts like Oscommerce have any detrimental affect on rankings with the search engines?

Please complete Step 2, then continue your order" on one site ( On another site ( it acts like it adds it to the shopping bag, but when I view the bag it is empty.

Hi guys, I'd like to learn more about integrating a shopping cart application with a merchant account.

I understand the mechanics of obtaining credit card information from the user via HTML forms and whatnot. What isn't clear to me is what I would then do with this information.

I've done some searching and all I can seem to find is tutorials on making the actual shopping cart software, which I can do myself, and links to other purchasable shopping cart software.

Can someone link me to a page or book that covers this topic in detail?

The webhost for this shopping cart site creates the codes needed to make it work on a separate page for each item. I copied the codes for each individual product and pasted them onto one page.
Each item contains a form with hidden fields that consists of the product's id # so that the shopping cart processor should know which item is being purchased when the buy button is being clicked.
However, the different products are not being recognized on the page, but rather, every buy button interprets as if the first item on the page is being purchased again and again.
Being that I'm not familiar with javascripts, I don't know how to format this page so that the buy buttons for each individual item sends the right info. One thing that I did learn is that 2 forms one 1 page cannot have the same form name so I altered the name of the 2nd form to celectvar as opposed to selectvar (the default name given by the webhost).

Following is a clipping of the scripts and forms for the 2 first products on the page.

I have been asked to add a Shopping Cart to someones FrontPage site. It is an existing site that they created, not realizing that one day they would want a shopping cart.

I am pretty good with FP, but have absolutely no experience with shopping carts. I also have no experience with php or SQL.

Are there shopping cart programs that are easy to integrate with an FP site that don't require a lot of database programming skills? Cost isn't really an issue. The site is currently hosted by a hosting service...might be godaddy now that I think about it.

So first, can anyone explain how shopping carts work? And what would be the best/easiest way to implement/add on to an existing FP site?

Thanks in advance,

Answer:Shopping Cart for a FrontPage site?

note that FP uses ASP not PHP.
Check the host and see if they have an e-commerce shopping cart. In order to process cc's your client will need to have a merchant account. Some carts are just carts and don't make calls to the secure servers that process cc's. What ever you do, if you do find an asp shopping cart.. DO NOT OPEN IT IN FRONT PAGE!!!!! it WILL hose the code and you'll really be up the creek.

Search engine traffic is one of the most important factors that decide the success of an online shopping cart. Hence the shopping cart design that you choose must be SEO friendly. This will help in producing the best results, inviting the targeted customers to visit your website and use the shopping cart. A SEO friendly shopping cart doesn?t mean the features visible to you and your customers. It also means the features that the spiders and crawlers of the search engines look for. Here are a few tips to develop an SEO friendly shopping cart.? Most of the web pages and shopping cart pages have meta titles, descriptions and keyword tags. But certain web developers advice to include tags like anchor title tags, for texts and images. Use of alt tags also increases the search engine traffic. Most of the search engine spiders, bots and crawlers look for alt tags. A shopping cart design made without the optimization of these tags won?t produce the needed results.? Your shopping cart should be compatible in text based browser too. You should also view the cart after disabling the Java script. Taking all these factors in to account will increase the performance of your shopping cart whereas ruling out these factors will decrease about 10-15% of your total potential revenue. ? People with disabilities may use sound browsers. The cart that you create should be compatible to such browsers. ? Answer:Tips to make an SEO friendly shopping cart

Hi ConardNot sure about the ethos of your post but in any event, just so there'e no misunderstanding:"Search engine traffic is one of the most important factors that decide the success of an online."Not really, traffic is useful but just traffic. A website that concentrates on converting visitors to customers is what's needed, with search engine considerations second in the queue."A SEO friendly shopping cart doesn?t mean the features visible to you and your customers."That kind of misses the whole point. Apart from conversion needs mentioned above, SEO is all about what is visible to customers. Apart from indirect value, such as good quality content drawing good quality links which help with search, modern search engines are primarily interested in content. All the mentions of tags etc. have minor merit in some cases but major search engines don't even look at keyword tags, or several types of title tag, or most meta tags and only use description tags for snippets, not ranking. The greatest technical enemy of shopping carts is poor configuration. Making crawling or understanding the site hard for search engines and visitors, or creating content duplication under different URLs. A far larger problem however is content, they are often no more than online brochures and even then filed with product descriptions that can be found on many other sites.Build a unique and captivating site instead, make sure the web knows about this and keep building, keep enthralling. Hi people,

I bought I shop script a while back and I am wanting to use it. It's a pre-done shopping cart website from:

I followed the Free setup guide

But it doesn't work for my premium version, it says to run .install.php locally, but on the premium version I get an error at stage 3...

Then I click "install" and I get the error..

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=InnoDB' at line 1 SQL query : CREATE TABLE SS_system (varName VARCHAR(255) NULL , value VARCHAR(255) NULL ) TYPE=InnoDBClick to expand...

I don't know where to start.. is it easy to fix?

(I'm using WAMPSERVER by the way)

Many Thanks!!, (I'm new to php)

Answer:PHP shopping cart error / shop-script

Generic problems I can think of at the moment are some kind of version problem or server or db setup that isn't compatible with the script.

I think the only specific help I can give without the source is from the site. (You probably shouldn't give source, either, since it is probably not totally abandonware.)

The only help I found on the site is this:

If you are still using Shop-Script PRO or PREMIUM, we recommend you to upgrade to WebAsyst Shop-Script:

* Upgrading now is free
You can download WebAsyst Shop-Script in your Customer Center account,
* WebAsyst Shop-Script is both more reliable and powerful,
* WebAsyst Shop-Script is growing,
* Shop-Script PRO and PREMIUM products were officially discountinued on September 1, 2009.

Read instructions on how to upgrade.

Hopefully someone who has experience with this software can give better help?

Yesturday the Shopping Cart on Newegg stopped working. I did have it working earlier in the day as I had compiled a list of items but when I went back later the cart was empty. I logged back in thinking it would be there but still it was empty. Now whenever I click on "Add To Cart" it takes me to the next screen saying it has added it to the cart but the $ counter in the top right corner stays at $0.00 and when clicking on the cart itself or proceeding to checkout it tells me the cart is empty. It does this whether I am logged in or not.

I tried adjusting the Cookie settings like their site advises but it didn't seem to change anything. They did suggest going into Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level then scrolling down looking for Cookie options (there is no option for cookie listed there). But under privacy I found cookie options and changed it to accept all but still the problem was the same.

The weird thing is that yesturday sometime before the problem started the browser history was somehow erased. Nobody actually went through the steps and cleared the history though. The only actions that were performed between the cart working and not working were photo's being uploaded from a camera and the MyDocuments folder being accessed by another computer on the same network. The amount column is a text box, where the user can change the amount. Under the grid view I have a button <update amount>. A click on this button is supposed to go through the gridview to see if the user has changed the amount of any of the books. If so, the price of this item(book) is to be changed (prise * amount of the item). If the amount of one book is set to 0 the row is to be deleted from the gridview. Can some one help me with the code needed to accomplish this???

At the end of each row in the gridview I have put a button <remove item>, and a click on this button is supposed to delete the selected row from the gridview. The gridview is listed on the shopping cart page with this code:

What code do I need to accomplish this removal of the selected item?

I need to evaluate which software a company should use for its shopping cart, I have to decide whether open source or payed is better, I don't just want my opinion, I want to see what the real world thinks, any help appreciated.

Answer:Shopping cart software, open source or payed?

It depends what the e-commerce software is for and the ability of the admin user.
Open source software has a lot of strong contenders, but it depends upon the complexity of the site and how much support is expected.
If you want instant support if things go wrong, expect to pay for it. If you have the ability to go onto the Internet and seek out a solution for yourself, then maybe open source could be good (and cheaper) for you.
Personally, I like Open Cart and have had considerable success with it. But there are many others, both free and paid for.

Answer:How can I move MP3 audio to shopping cart / email / website?

You want to sell your original music that you made yourself? You need a Web Site to have a shopping cart.Or you can offer it  for sale on eBay, which works with PayPal.Maybe what you should do is open a eBay account, its free. Then check into the forums on eBay.Look here:

I have a (currently) simple Access database with Search form, to which I've added a multi-field filter, based on a nice bit of code I found online.

The next stage is to reproduce this form with added functionality, for issuing and receiving goods into stock.
I'd like for the user to be able to select multiple stock items, see them added to something in a "shopping cart"-style and then click a button to issue the selected items (subtract from stock) or receipt them (add to stock) and, print the details.

The way I'm imagining it, I'd add Issue Qty and Receipt Qty fields to the existing Stock search form. Anything that had been given an Issue Qty or Receipt Qty would populate a query. The query would simultaneously feed a subform, displaying the slected items & quantities for the user to see, and then buttons for Issue and Receive (or a single button, maybe) would allow the user to confirm their changes, updating the stock quantity accordingly, printing a report showing what they'd issued or receipted and emptying the query for next use.

I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about it. Perhaps rather than populating a query, it could or should be done with a sort of temporary recordset.
There might be difficulties in undoing, too. I'd need to have something in place to allow the user to either delete items from the "cart" subform or set the Issue / Receipt Qty on the main form to zero. In either case, it'd b... Read more

I recently updated my OS. All my documents like music, pictures and files are there correctly. Some of my old game and programs like Steam booting correctly because they are in the Windows.old file because of the new OS. I was wondering if there is anyway I can just integrate these files so it would act like my computer previously, but just with the updated OS. Would a simple copy and paste of the Program Files/Program Files (x86) ect over the current ones work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:Can I intergrate Windows.old files?

Windows.old file contains everything from a previous Windows install. You can not copy and paste old programs. They have to be installed to get the required entries into the registry in order to work. You can copy personal files that you missed backing up before the new install.

Better quality e.g. flesh tones. You only have to replace used cartridges when required. Often with the MYC the magenta runs out and you waste what's left of the YC.

Question: Zen-Cart help?

I'm trying to work with Zen-Cart to set up a online shopping site.

Does anyone out there have any experience with Zen-Cart? Is it just me or is the configuration process brutally complicated? I have their 400 page manual, but even with that it takes me hours to scratch the surface of this thing.

I have the manual up on one monitor, the admin page up in another monitor and the Zen-Cart website help page up on a third monitor and it is still just going too slow.

Is there a different interface out there or something to simplify all of the options and menus?

I'm not a programmer, that may be part of the problem, and I know Zen-Cart is free and I've seen some really nice sites that were built using it but I've burned hours getting almost nowhere.

Any thoughts?

My wife bought me a LG dvd-/+ burner for Christmas and according to the book that came with it, it requires a P4 2.8 processor or higher to work properly. I am running a HP 1ghz advent and of course that won't cut it. I am wanting to update anyway but I am not sure what cpu and ram to get. I've others to tell me go intel but I kind of want to stick with AMD. Can anyone suggest what to upgrade to. Money is a factor when you don't have much. Any help will be greatful.

Answer:Cart before the horse

I would recommend AMD as they're alot cheaper and run better. Only go with Intel if you're running a business with servers etc.
AMD are great for games, although they may not meet the required 2.8ghz the dvd burner will still work with an athlon 3000+, lets say, because with an amd xp 3000+ which is about 2.2ghz compared with an intel celeron 2.8ghz, the athlon would win any day!
Also, try a well known brand name, like Kingston I was told to buy a few days ago.

Answer:C66 not reconize cart

With the printer switched on try switching the printer off at the mains, waiting a few minutes and switch on again. If that doesn't work then removing the cartridge and quickly replacing can sometimes do the trick but the problem may arise that you get an airlock in the piping work which will have to be cleared by the cleaning process.

I just finished my first Windows 7 system a few weeks ago. A curious issue occurred about two weeks ago.

Whenever I shut down my computer for a few hours, then start it back up, about 5 minutes after the start up is complete, my PC has a memory management error. What makes this curious, though, is the fact that once the PC is up and running, I receive no further BSOD. Similarly, if I just restart the computer, all is well. Or, when I just go into sleep mode and restart normally, there is no issue. In addition, running in safe mode doesn't replicate the problem, either.

Here's my system information:

Windows 7, x64

Age of the hardware is relatively new, as well as the installation date.

I cannot seem to generate a System Health Report. I'm getting the apparently common message (page not found).

Thanks for the read.

Answer:Get the Crash Cart!

I mentioned in a previous post about putting Mandriva Linux on a flash drive. I'm still working that angle.
I have read the "sticky" of Linux FAQ. I did my research and have read nothing but great things about Mandriva 2010.
I understand about partitioning the HD and duel booting with Windows/Linux. Now, here is my question. I have a brand new 250 Gig External HD. Could I put a Mandriva Linux bootable disk (after I burn the image of it) in and have it install on the external? Than by going to the BIOS, select Boot from USB device and have it run off the external just like I would if I partitioned the internal drive? I am completely new to Linux but really want to learn as much as possible. I have read A LOT more great things about Linux than I EVER have about Windows.
Thank you so much for any help and education you can give me.

Answer:I put the cart before the horse

Flash drive will give better performance, although what you mention can work. You can then use the external HDD for storage for windows and linux if formatted with the NTFS file system. There is a windows program for reading ext2 file systems with windows but have never had the need to try it. Mandriva is a good choice, currently using pclinuxos-ZEN-mini-2010.1.iso (a Mandriva offshoot) and KNOPPIX_V6.2.1CD-2010-01-31-EN.iso, both were easily set up to run on wireless connections.

Question: Ink cart details

(This question is about curiosity, not need. Someone here suggested a completely different solution that I am pursuing.)

While searching for info on ink for my Epson Artisan 710 I came to the conclusion that there was a definite difference between the T098 series and other 9 pin cartridges. None of the resetters available for 9 pin carts listed the T0988's or T099's.

Then I found one company that insisted by email that their resetter could reset ALL 7 and 9 pin chips for Epson, even though they do not specifically list the T098 I was interested in.

Frankly it sounds like whistling in the dark to me.

Does anyone here know enough about these relatively new chips to give me a definitive answer about this? Or a reliable source that has this specific information? (I even read on one site that they self-destruct when they report that there is no more ink in the cartridge. That's another single source tidbit.)

Answer:Ink cart details

Here's a search link on eBay that may help you out:

Based on this link it appears several eBay stores have aftermarket ink available with the chips installed. Since the aftermarket ink is about two-thirds less than OEM, it's worth a try.

If going the eBay route:

Check the seller's feedback level. Anything above 98% with several hundred or more feedbacks is usually safe.
Read the item listing carefully to be sure your specific model is listed.
Stick with US sellers. Items shipping from China or Hong Kong take forever to arrive and cost a fortune to return if defective.
Be sure the seller has a reasonable return policy in case the item doesn't work well with your printer.
Don't mess with refill kits - they're messy and may not reset the chips.

Hope this saves you some $$$.

refilled lexmark x75 black cart. have to keep damping with tissue each time I print.very annoying.

Answer:refill cart

Hi Cobbler, You could have an air lock in the cartridge.I use the Ink-Tec refills from click here and with them you get a cartridge holder, a rubber attachment and a special syringe so that you can actually withdraw ink through the print head and thus make sure that the ink is flowing correctly.I suppose it could also be caused by leaving the cartridge empty for a while before refilling thus giving it a chance to dry out slightly.Try standing the cartridge on a wet tissue for quite a while to try and get it flowing properly. You haven't sealed the refill hole have you???

Hi, AZ

Re: shopping cart...

If you want to explore the possible coding behind it you might like to look at the following:

I also know there are applications around that you can use without having to learn code:

Short of that, the choices are going to involve a server-side language. Perl isn't that hard to learn. Well, I think it's a doddle compared to Java. The only other thing to add is: if the customers are ordering online, make sure you've considered security. A lot of webspace providers cater for well as providing shopping cart solutions and support.

Hope this is of some help.

I've used Spybot S&D for several years, updating it manually before scanning my system once a week. As the result of a recent update (I think), the program now launches straight into the scan without giving an opportunity to check for updates first. On the face of it this would seem to be putting the cart before the horse.I would appreciate advice from anyone who can tell me whether it's possible to revert to the 'first update, then scan' sequence without losing anything beneficial that may have been in the same update.I'm currently using Spybot version 1.4 dated 2006-07-21 with Windows XP (Home) SP2.TIA Jim

Opps sorry thought I was back at work for a min lol. Ok I have searched past topics and tried a lot of the info I found on there. So I just need a second opinion before I bury this thing.I have a Toshiba Satellite running Windows XP Home Version 2002 with service Pk 2. Today I got a new software program and when I tried to load it into my computer nothing happened. So I went into my drive manager and there is the yellow exclaimation mark on there. I checked the properties and it says that Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this deviceWhich of course I did the troubleshooter, checked with Toshiba for driver updates, checked Windows and Microsoft for updates, rolled back my driver and ummmm.. I think thats it. LOL then like the typical air head I can be I decided I would just do a recovery on my system. DUHHH the driver isn't working, I can't back up my system or run the recovery disc. So is it a lost cause? Call the Cyber Morgue?

Answer:Is it DOA? I need a crash cart STAT!

What drive is the drive manager reporting as faulty ? ?Code 39 is usually related to CDRom devices...certainly not a reason to trash the machine. If it is in fact the CD/DVD drive right clik it and select Remove or un-install and re-boot.
