Screen colour to match magazine colour?

Question: Screen colour to match magazine colour?

Help please...I do cartoons in Photoshop for magazines...how can I adjust my screen, so that what I see on the screen will match what is printed in my client's magazine? Thanks.click here

Preferred Solution: Screen colour to match magazine colour?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Screen colour to match magazine colour?

I found the easiest way to achieve this was to print the picture and then adjust my screen to match. Once you've adjusted the screen all future pictures which look too light or dark, on screen, can be adjusted to suit within your software.

Hi there gurus.
My pc doesn?t show certain colour objects in Publisher 2007 and some on-line sites. Overall, the screen colour is very good. I know the fault is localised, because when I switch to Print Preview in Publisher it looks fine and I can see all the object colours. (I only lose the colour with objects, not text)
Also, when I send a copy of a Publisher page to my partner who is on the same PC, it looks fine on her screen.
I?ve tried going to Install/uninstall programs and run the Repair, but to no avail. The guys in my computer shop are clueless without seeing it. Anyone who can help solve this for me is a gem.
Cheers!
David

What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with compatible inks?

I'm happy to invest in buying a colour laser: but I can't find any refills for lasers
At least they don't seem to be widely available

So, my choice is: colour laser + genuine inks or colour inkjet + compatible inks

From what I know, side by side: laser's are cheaper
But, how about when compared to genuine laser ink to compatible colour inkjet inks?

I should stress that for me needs, I am not overly concerned if using compatibles doesn't give me perfect results - just close as possible is fine for me

What's more important probably is speed of print at highest quality

ANY feedback would be great

Thanks

Answer:What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with ink compatibles?

Finding Compatible Remanufactured Color Toner cartridges can be dicey. While they may be available, the problem may end up being the company tht does the remanufaturing. It is also dependant upon the model printer you get. I have noticed that the savings on my Black Canon X-25 toner cartridge is only about $12 lower than the cost of a Factory original cartridge. There are sites that I would save up to $30 per cartridge, but part of this is eaten up by the shipping charges. For my toner cartridge, I am about 1/2 mile from the store that does nothing but ink and toner refill services, and their garauntee thier cartridges 100%. In 3 years I have only had to return one cartridge and it was an HP #17 Color cartridge.

Now per page printing cost on a laser is much cheaper than on an inkjet. Though the printer cost itself is usually much higher for a Laser. Personally I use the laser much more than than my Inkjet, but I do use the inkjet for all color printing. But then 95% of my printing is monochrome text.

Hi, I'm using the Aerolite theme with Aeroglass, and want a consistent colour for the borders. So I set accent colour from background 'off' and choose the colour. Fine so far.

Now that's ok if I log off and on.

But if I sleep or hibernate (not personally ) and then resume, the colour and setting are lost.

I noticed that on resuming, the border colour is present until the 'Please wait' screen appears, after which these settings are lost.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello friends,
I was just thinking that wouldn't it be great if we get more color options to change the background color on our Windows Phone devices than just black or white as we get on Windows 8.1 devices to customize background color along with tile colour?
Reply your views !

Answer:More colour options to change background colour

I personally like the black and white, but I saw a mockup of a dim tropical photo in place of the black and it looked quite beautiful.

Hello.

I seriously need help with my PC. I've reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and I can't chnge the Screen resolution or the colour quality. It sucks. The resolution stays at 800x600, the lowest possible, and the colour quality stays at 8 bit. I think I have a ATI 128 MB DDR Radeon 9800 Pro. I dunno whether thats a driver or what. And I also don't know my graphics card, or whether that will help at all.

I would swear at this point but I'm too young.

Oh but I'll use this instead

Has anyone got any help for me that I can understand. I'm 14 but I still can understand most computer talk.

Anyway thanks very much for reading all this crap and please try not to point out all my spelling mistakes.

Alex Jordan

Answer:[resolved]Help with resolution and colour and colour quality??.. anyone??

Heya, welcome to the forums

Okay, it has to do with your drivers. Go to ATI's website and find your driver.

Here's the link

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

Please download and install both the Control Center as well as the Display driver. Then restart your computer and try to change the resolution.

Cheers!

Hi Allhope someone more knowledgable can advise - I recently purchased a Lexmark x500n multifunction colour laser printer - I had a big black print job to do excel and word - 2000 pages - i was shocked to see that - ok the black starter cartridge of 2500 pages was nearly empty- fair enough - but all three colour cartridges (1500 page size) were nearly all empty too - I hadn't done any colour printing but when i contacted the manuf they advised that the printer uses colour also to print black!! - it's getting returned to them - but do do all colour lasers do this - obviously this quadruples the costs of printing and has put my costing out of the window!! - any advice would be great - it's a network colour printer, with copier and scanner that I need - a fax would be great but not essential.thanks in advanceTrifly

Answer:COLOUR LASER - PRINTING BLACK USING COLOUR!!

That would pee me off no end. How in God's name can it use colour to create black when there's a black cartridge in there? A cheapo mono laser seems to be your ideal tool. I know nothing about colour laser printers, but is there an option anywhere in the settings to print using only the black cartridge? Does the printer still work if you take out the colour cartridge while printing only black text documents?

Have a problem with a system that has on a number of occasions changed the desktop from Olive Green to to a muddy blue and all pages and shortcuts to a shade of pink. The machine is otherwise perfectly normal though printing of photographs is no longer possible due to colour changeDid first remove and reinstall the Radeon 9600 card but without result. At other times have tested all plug ins, insured all tight home, and the system has returned to normal but only for a short period...all cable connections checked also.Unless anyone can advise otherwise it could be that the 128 mb Radeon 9600 (XP) pro card is suspect and I would appreciate info re a suitable replacement. An increase to 256 mb would be an advantage but not essential because I do not use for games and do not wish to spend more than is necessary. The PC is a Microland unit purchased shortly before the company failed and luckily has been OK to date...but so much for 2 + 1 year warranty.Any advice is very welcome.Regards.

Answer:Screen "OFF" Colour

Is this on a CRT monitor? If so, try a "degauss". If this doesn't work, I am a firm believer in "percussive maintenance", so give it a light but firm slap on the side or the top of the monitor. If that still doesn't work, one of the cathode rays maybe on the fritz and the only resolution then is to put your hand in your pocket and buy a new monitor.PLEASE don't hit it if it's a TFT monitor!

Answer:Screen Colour has gone dark, no red!

You gave no specs as far as the computer you are using like OS running and brand and exact model of the computer. So we are clueless as to what hardware is in the computer as far as a video chip or an installed video card. Without that info, no useful help can be given.

Hi,

I was using my sony vaio laptop recently and the screen suddenly went several different colours and I couldn't make out anything.
When I rebooted, the recovery system kicked in and this worked away, then eventually took me back into windows. Worked fine for a while, then it did it again. Only this time on re-boot the recovery didn't come in and it took me back into windows.
it worked for a while (long enough for me to back up my data to disk,) then crashed again. I thought that it might be overheating so I took the laptop apart and cleared out the (quite blocked,) fan. This hasn't made any difference and now the screen is distorting pre windows start up (ie at first screen as soon as you turn it on.)

Any ideas?

Thanks.

My tw week old TFT screen keeps getting a line of different colour don the centre. It is about 1.5 ins wide. Any one know why and what can I do about it???

Answer:TFT screen colour problem

It could be the TFT has developed a fault or it could be the graphics driver has been corrupted, reinstall the graphics card drivers, if that doesn't help then the easiest thing to try would be to try your TFT with someone elses PC, if it works ok then you know the problem is with your PC and not the screen and can post back for some more help.

Please help an old man, when i scan a piece of paper from my printer it goes to my selected folder but when i open it all the background is black and not white any help plz

Answer:screen changed colour

Hi, usually scanners have a preview option so you can get an idea of how the scan will appear. A flatbed scanner will do the preview scan more quickly than usual.

If you are not happy with the preview, there are adjustments you can make, then retry the preview scan.
The adjustments available will depend on whether you choose a black & white, greyscale or colour scan.

The functions available depend on your scanner driver.

I've never used a scanner/printer combination though. If you post your particular printer type, you might be lucky and someone reading this post might be familiar with your device.

You might also consider asking a question in the forum related to your printer, or checking its manual.

Answer:Can I change the colour of my MSN screen

If you are talking about MSN Messenger, then the only option you have is to change the colour via the "Change your scene" window. I don't think MSN has anything fancy like scripting (if you are talking about CSS and that kind of stuff).

If you mean Windows Live Hotmail and you are using Firefox, then you might be able to use Stylish to add/modify custom CSS for that web page.

As I am writing this now the white background on to which I am typing as is changing between white and a very pale blue hue a bit like the colour of the scrollbars on the forum only lighter.

Answer:Screen changing colour

It's possible your browser has been hijacked and you are running a dodgy .css filke that can cause these symptoms, to check this out please
Go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Hi there

I've spent the last hour trawling the web searching for an answer on setting up individual colour profiles for a dual monitor set up and can't seem to find anything. I've found out how to assign colour settings in Windows 7 but it seems I can only have one active at a time.

I'm running a 24" Hyundai W240D monitor as my primary screen but for work (digital art) I use a Wacom Cintiq 12WX LCD tablet display. As you can imagine, colour matching is an important part of digital art as much as it is for photography - the problem is, I can't get the colours right...

I spent ages messing with the colour settings of each monitor to get them to match but had to keep resorting back to using my Datacolor Spyder3 Pro to correct my mistakes. The problem in doing this is that the Spyder will create a colour profile for each monitor, but it cannot assign each monitor it's own profile. I can't afford shelling out for a Spyder3Elite (which supports dual monitor settings) so I'm looking for a way of setting each monitor up with it's own colour profile. I've read a few way of doing it in XP but they don't seem relevant to 7.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Is this a serious problem that I can't put right by myself?

Answer:screen resolution and colour depth

It sounds as if something has gone wrong with your graphics drivers.. Going into your control panel >> System and check the state of the display adaptor.. If possible try and update the driver and it may cure your problem.Sat

I have 2 intermittent problems which may indicate my laptop is on the way out but first I just want to get anyone???s advice about the situation.
I have a Satellite P30-145 just over a year old and I'm in the US for 6 months and its WARM here. The laptop was powering off a few times a month before I came to Florida a few weeks ago but now with the temps so much higher (70-80F indoors) it powers off a lot during the day when the processor is going strong (like a Spy Sweeper sweep) and I can really only use it in the evening and at night now when it's cooler. I've been told this is a motherboard issue now as its gone way past being a dust/fan issue. The laptop is raised well above my lap tray so the 2 fans are completely free to do their thing. Makes no difference.

Secondly, just recently I started to get a blue tint to white areas on the screen and if it was, say, a photo, then the colour would be affected too. This comes and goes when I press down on the metal casing area just above the 'Pause' button along the top of the keyboard. Again the Geeks in Best Buy today (US electronic store) said it was related to the motherboard.

Given these 2 annoying (at best) issues and the huge cost of a motherboard, I guess I'm really looking at a new laptop and the fact that it's only 13 or so months old is disgraceful.

Anyone got ANY suggestions - apart from saying I was an idiot not to get an extended warranty?

Answer:Satellite P30 Power Off & Screen Colour

Hi

I will not say that you?re an idiot because you don?t have an extended warranty but of course the longer warranty period is very useful and as far as I know the notebook registration on the Toshiba website would increase the warranty to 24 month. (12 month standard warranty + 12 month warranty after registration)

However, in my opinion the shut downs problems are related to the high temp inside the notebook. I think you should check the Toshiba power saver options. There you can change the cooling method and the CPU speed.

Secondly, I don?t know exactly why the blue tint appears on the display but a similar happens when I press a little bit the LCD screen surface.
I think it?s not a motherboard issue and possibly only a little part on the board must be replaced.

I think you should firstly try to contact the ASP in your country. The guys could give you more details as everyone here in the forum. You know we are all common notebook users and not technicians.

I have an Aspire 4739Z-4462. I loaded the DisplayLink display driver for linking the HDMI out to a TV. Ever since I have an unusual splt screen that effects text only. When video is displayed there's no problem but with typical text screens like Google searches or Word documents, the entire right side is lower resolution and color depth. Text virtually unreadble. Uninstalling the DiaplyLink driver didn't solve it and the Intel drivers fail to load and upgrade. It must be a software issue since certain text does appear OK. For example, balloon notifications are low resolution until I hover the mouse over them. Then they appear full color depth and perfectly readable. Has anyone heard of this or can anyone direct me to a source for resetting or upgrading the display drivers?

Answer:Half screen has different resolution & colour

Uninstall the display adapter on Device manager, right click it and select uninstall, then reboot and check if this fix your issue.

I NEED HELP!
there are two photographs attached on this post, on the left is the closest shot I could get to what I see on my screen, on the right is what the image actually looks like.
I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of, googling it for hours, checked colour management and the settings for my Acer laptop, but I can't get the display to look the same as the real thing! the real thing had a lot more of a warmer tone when the screen shows a dull coloured image.
My laptop information: Acer ES1-521-68Y6 A6 NB. I have windows 10.

Answer:HELP! Screen is different colour than real image

Hi Cal2500 ... and welcome to the forums ...

The original image, which seems to be a saved screen-shot of someone's desktop (who happens to use PhotoShop - the icon is active on the taskbar = is indeed a nice, rich photograph.

The washed-out image: are you saying that this is that same screen-shot as it appears on your Acer laptop screen? Did you take a photograph of your screen? The best representation to show us how your screen looks would be to take a screen-shot of it, and post that (if what you've posted is indeed an actual photograph of your screen, as taken with a camera).

So: do all images display as washed out as this example, and has this always been an issue with your Acer? Or did something change recently?

Seems like you might want to start over as far as your display settings go. Remove your monitor from Device Manager, and let it be re-detected. Uninstall your graphics drivers, and let Windows re-detect and reinstall your graphics drivers. That should get you back to standard settings. If images all still seem to be "washed out", attach an external monitor, and see if the issues persist on it as well. If all displays wonderfully on the external monitor, you might want to contact Acer and see if there is a "known issue" with the screens for your model (and if they have a "known repair"!) . . .

Ask for it to be replaced if it proves to be faulty. [Or, if you are out-of-warranty: replacements screens ar... Read more

Was using my computer when suddenly the screen went pink. The desktop background solid colour was Dark Green but is now a deep blue (not one of the optional colours) and the background to any pages or work that I am doing is still pink. I tried changing the background colour but this made no difference.

Answer:Solved: Screen changed colour

Yes, one color may be gone from the monitor. Try another monitor to find out. The color of your screen should be missing red, green, or blue. It's hard to say if red is gone or reduced from the pink you describe, but some images ought to show clearly that one of those colors is missing.

A color could disappear from your graphics card, too, and that is usually caused by overheating, though simple age-related failure can cause it, too. Make sure it has fans running if it has fans and that all vents are clear. But if something burned out, it could be too late for that to make any difference.

They blend in with what ever is meant to be dispalyed. If I rub the screen they seem to move/fade for a moment then come back. Hi everyone. My first post.

I was wandering if anyone can help me before I throw my laptop against a brick wall.

Its a Tosh Satelitte running XP SP2.

A couple of days ago my screen went one solid colour and the only thing to do is turn it off and on again. since then it does it regularly, sometimes blue, green, white, red etc. Looked around on various forums and to see what solutions i could come up with. The first thing I did was plug into an external monitor. But alas, when the laptop screen went a solid colour, so did the monitor. So i backed everything up and used my Toshiba recoevery disc. Still I have the problem. I thought it must be the hard drive. I've just got a new one in the post, put it in, reloaded Windown.............. and still the same.

Please help me someone. Is it time for a new laptop?

Thanks, Felix

Answer:Laptop screen goes one solid colour

Attach an external monitor. If the external monitor turns one color, then it might mean your videp chip is dying. If the monitor shows a perfect display, then it is time to look at the screen, video cable inside the laptop, etc.

I was sorting through some old magazine software and decided to try one of the game discs out.I finished pottering about with it and when I went back to my desktop the colours had changed from true colour(32 bit) to 16 colours, and the screen area had changed from 1024x768 to 640x480 pixels.I right clicked desktop to try and change them back , it let me move the screen area slider to the correct setting , it also let me change the colours to 32 bit however it would not let me apply it .Although the apply button is there , the actual word 'apply' is not blacked in(hope you know what I mean) so as soon as I come out of the settings it reverts straight back to the 'horrible' settings.I have also tried to come from the other way , start , settings , control panel etc etc but the same result.I have also booted up in safe mode , command prompt only , scanreg/restore but it says restore failed when I try this.Firstly why or how has this happened , and why have I not got the apply button enabled. I think if I can restore the 'apply' button then there will be no probs.Any ideas ?

I recently connected my PC to my HD tv using a HDMI cable. I have the resolution set to 1920x1080 at 1080p. However, it keeps happening when every now and then the screen with go black for 0.1 seconds and then the colours on my screen will change. Anything that's white will because a light reddish colour and my black Windows 10 bar becomes a light blue. Essentially the colours on the screen become inverted.
Afer a short while it goes back to normal but I can't figure out what's causing it. I've tried using a different HDMI cable, connecting it to a different port on both the PC and television but nothing seems to fix it.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi. So earlier today I was downloading some codecs to play a video (K-lite codecs to play a .mkv video) which made the video work, then around 5 minutes into the video the sound went all crazy like a broken record and was like repeating a certain 2-3 seconds of sound constantly, and the video colours went all wierd. A BSOD then came up shortly after. For the last 3 hours I've been trying to sort it out but Im baffled as to what the problem is. I'm not too good with computers but have fixed a few things in my time.

Anyways, so I've tried start-up repair, and sometimes it says it cannot fix the problem, or sometimes it says its fixed and to restart. When I restart I can manage to get to the log-in screen. After logging in, everything loads up perfectly fine for 2 minutes, then all of a sudden the colours turn purple-ish and the display just goes blank, and I cant move the mouse or anything so I have to re-boot, which leads to start-up repair AGAIN and its just a continuous loop.

- I've done a few system restores, and manual system restores to dates further back, yet it doesn't change anything
- I'm writing this up in safe-mode with networking, where everything is working perfectly fine and the problem isn't occuring.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Answer:Colour Distortion followed by screen turning off

Do you know what error message the BSOD displayed?

Safe Mode disables any programs that start up when your computer boots (besides Windows), could you click Start, Run, type in "msconfig" without the quotes, go to the Startup tab, and write down all the entries that have a checkmark beside them?

Sorry for the bad post name as I'm not entirely sure what to call this.
I have been having an issue with my XPS L702x for a while after I dropped it onto the floor. The issue I have is that is mainly that the screen seems to display black (and colours close to it) green and the white as red. This is fairly inconvenient but also seems to be slowing my pc down quite a bit, for a while I assumed it was the screen that had broken and a ribbon cable or something had either come loose or broken, however after taking the pc apart and having a look at the wires they all seem fine. My second assumption is it's something to do with the GPU and maybe that's what's broken (this would make sense as to why the PC is slowing down). I'm wondering if there's a way to fix it as I don't want to buy a new laptop.
I have some pictures here to show what the issue is.

Thanks

Help Please :- Screen issue Lenovo Yoga11s 11.6-inch Laptop , When touching the screen a odd coloured imagine where i last touched appears on the screen , the screen is not physically broken , it has not been dropped etc. I recently bought a brand new :- Lenovo Yoga11s 11.6-inch Laptop intel Core i3 , 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD ,Model Number 59367205 It has been working fine but the other day for no apparent reason my screen acquired two arrow cursors instead of one. This extra one flickered and remained immovable from the screen for about 40 seconds and left a small circular image about 1cm across on my screen. I couldn't find a way of removing it, so I resorted to turning off my machine which caused the image to disappear when I switched it back on. I now see a strange print image every time I touch the screen since then, as if it is showing heat sensitivity for a short interval. Rather annoying , but then it disappears. Have I turned on some kind of development mode perhaps by accident , so that it shows where I last touched ! As anyone any ideas how to make this stop please or perhaps is my touch screen faulty ?!? Has anyone had experience with this issue in the past ?

Hi jamtart98,

I would suspect that the software you installed did something to the Graphic Drivers. Do you mind booting into Safemode(Press F8 during startup > Safemode with networking). If the problem is gone in safemoode, Reboot the machine into normal mode and:

1. Uninstall your current graphical drivers.
2. Download the latest ones from nVidia's website.

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my laptop: It shows strange colour distortions before my screen goes blank for a little while and I can't do anything anymore. And sometimes the screen just goes blank and my laptop reboots.

At first I thought the problem was my video card overheating, but after cleaning my laptop completely the problem didn't go away.
I installed the new nvidia drivers, but that didn't solve the problem either.
I've been looking on the internet for a while now for an answer to this annoying problem but can't seem to find it, so maybe you guys can help me.

Hi there all forum users,

I've got a question that I wonder if anyone here has an answer to?

I have a Sony Vaio PCG FX502 for my portable laptop. What I need to know is how to set the colour correction balance to a more neutral image friendly setting.
I have shot images on camera and transfered them to the laptop but the images are artifically brighter than what they really are. The flat screen gives a lift to the pictures that does not transfer on other media. Therefore any post image editing adjustment (say in photoshop) is useless and does not reflect a true picture.
Any ideas?

Answer:sony vaio Colour corrected screen

There is color calibration stuff you can get, I have found that a CRT monitor is the best for prints. The LCD is sweet as heck for most stuff, but the old CRT rules, in my opinion for optimal printing quality.

I need help for my computer, I thank whoever takes time and afford to reply.

I have been using my computer over 8 years and suddenly display to  go off after running couple of minutes opening all the files. Suddenly screen goes blank. But the processor is running.  I can't shut it down using power button so I unplug power cable an turn it on with safe mode I did system scan, found and fixed this problem "CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" but problem still persist, screen goes blank and grey. I did the scan again and found no fault.

Answer:Screen goes blank to grey colour Windows 7

Welcome,
If all of your components are 8 years old I suspect that they are at the very end of their life cycle. Before things get too much worse be sure to back up everything in the way of data and documents you have to have. Then I would recommend an easy fix - a new computer.
If I were to guess about the weakest components they would be the power supply, graphics card, and possibly the monitor.

I checked online to find people with similar issues, the answers they got were overheating, being dusty or just faulty GPU/PSU. I thought my PC was dusty, it's been a year since I bought it and never opened the tower. I switched it off, cleaned it as best as i could with a toothbrush and some tissues. I checked the temperature by using MSI Afterburner, it's around 70C while playing games (I'm not sure if that's good or bad). It didn't crash for the entire day after cleaning it, I played about 4-5 games of league.
Next few days, it crashed again, screen turns into a solid color, a simple restart and everything is fine. 2 days later it got really bad, It crashed over and over again, I can't play a single game of league without it turning into a solid colour. When I would turn my PC on, there would be static or it would be completely black after showing the message along the lines of " no HDMI/DVI signal". I had t... Read more
