Preferred Solution: java error "Can not find content length"

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: java error "Can not find content length"

If it appears in the status bar of your browser as you log on it will be an imperfection in the java routine the site is trying to run on your machine. If not please provide more info as to when it occurs and where the message appears.If you post the URL I'll have a look at the site as this may help.

An application failed to D/L .Net Framework Version upgrade from MS, apparently because the Server did not specify content length.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this ?

I recently installed Firefox and re-installed my OS, I am sure it needs updates but I would like to proceed, I have been having problems updating.

I teach at Polk State College in Lakeland, FL. Recently the college has made One Drive and other stuff available to faculty.
I have attempted to sync my C:drive (or part of it) to One Drive.  Every day I get a message that a name is too long, and sometimes a message that informs me that a name contains invalid characters.  These messages advise me to change the names
to comply with One Drive limitations.  In the case of a length problem, it tells me how many characters I have to get rid of.
I am frustrated because these file names are perfectly valid on Win7, Win8.1, and Win10.  I have set up my file structure and named my files in a way meaningful to me.  I cannot believe that Microsoft would offer a product (One Drive) with naming
limitations inconsistent/incompatible with their flagship offerings (Windows and MS Office).
Can anyone tell me the official limitations on One Drive file and path names?

Thanks for any information and enlightenment that can be provided.  It is a long, long time since I had to worry about length when naming files.

Hi i am Jo

would need help in finding the length of the third side of a triangle in excel

I have three points number: AB- 235 BC- 156 need to find length AC - it's not a right angle triangle,

Answer:Find length of side of triangle in Excel

Welcome to the forums Jo.

Having the length of two sides of a triangle isn't enough to calculate the length of the 3rd side, for a non right-angle triangle. You'll also need to know one of the angles.

Hi there,

This past week I had a huge virus/trojan issue which Chaslang helped me solve - he was awesome.

I have a new problem now. I tried to install Azureus but got a "Java Virtual Machine error that said: Cannot Find Main Class". As part of the malaware removal, I was to remove the Java that was on my computer and replace it with the Sun Java. Maybe I did something incorrectly?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is there a quick way to find files in a folder whose file names exceed 64-characters in length? I'm trying to burn a CD of a large (over 500MB) photo folder. The CD burning program appears to alert me of SOME long filenames when it starts up, and I tell it to "Change All." But it's not finding them all until it starts burning.

During the burning it tells me certain file names exceed 64-characters and the path may not be found and do I want to proceed anyway. I can't go through the whole folder looking for the few long names because it's enormous, it would take hours.
I don't know why it doesn't detect them all.

I'm using Roxio EZ CD Creator Platinum 5 and Windows XP SP2

Not sure if this is a windows or java problem, so posted this on the Oracle Java site as well, but really grateful if anyone can help. On Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit the example below works OK with java 1.7 but errors with java 1.8. On previous windows
versions both versions of java appear to work OK.
Created a simple example to reproduce the problem:
Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit running on an Oracle Virtual Box, Visual Studio 2012 Professional, Eclipse Luna 32 bit, 32 bit java 7.65 and 32 bit java 8.45 installed.

Use Vis Studio to create a new C++ project configuration Win32, create a .cpp file and paste the following:
Please note: PIPENAME below is "{backslash}{backslash}{backslash}{backslash}.{backslash}{backslash}pipe{backslash}{backslash}UC_MENU_PIPE"
// PipeSample.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application.

Folks, I do some stock trading when not fooling with computing stuff, and my primary "quick snapshot" site is I have gotten very fond of their new charting applet/s and use them regularly. Until yesterday.

My main rig is a compaq evo D510, Win XP pro 5.1.2600, IE 7 build 75730, 1.5GB RAM. Yesterday the charting feature simply would not load. that in/of itself was not unusual... sometimes it fails but by flushing cache and retrying it nearly always succeeds. This time nothing I did could get it to work. I've done everything typical: CCleaner'd all the temp hiding places, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player, uninstalled and reinstalled Java Runtime Environment, scanned my registry for the umpteenth time cleaning up a few errors, many reboots, setup a separate new account on the system and tried it there. no luck.

I have a second system, not in my office, that is very near identical to this one, and all is swell on it. works fine.

An example address for a chart, if you care to look, is;range=5d

Can someone tell me how to debug the site or ????? to try and get this working?

The only thing I can think of that has been new lately was/is my use of an interactive mapping site,, which is EXCELLENT, by the way... uses a number of graphics widgets & java controls. it works fine on my system. Did it break something?

all help appreciated.

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

Hi,Until recently I have had a relatively spam free mailbox. However my inbox has now started filling up with a lot of junk. The most common email is one that shows up as a coloured square with text in wavy lines. Apparently there is a slideshow with it, but I just delete the whole email. I also add the senders address to the blocked address list. My problem is that the e-mail is sent via a different address each time. Is there a spam filter that can look at my email see that it is a coloured square with text in and delete it forever? I would rather not close my e-amil account and find another one.

Hey. I have some issues trying to get access to my old harddrive in my new computer. I am sorry in advanced that my technical skills kind of sucks, but I have tried my best to learn what is up, with no luck. So, with that said, I will try to make someone that knows this stuff to understand what the hell I am talking about.  My MacBook from 2008 broke down a while ago, ofcourse, I had no backup. I bought something that may have the name USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge (a device that I have put in my harddrive in to be able to connect it with my computer through USB). When I plug it in, the computer finds the connected USB but when clicking on it, only "property for USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge" show and no content. It is a 160 (i think) gig HDD disk from a MacBook 2008.The computer I try to get the disk to work in is a new HP Pavilion 256 GB SSD, Intel Core i5.I hope someone has a clue how to fix this, Thank you in advance!

Please help.

I am running Win XP SP2. Using the Search Companion, that comes up when you select "Search for Files and Folders" from the Start menu, I have the following reproducible problem:

(1)I create a .txt file with known words in it. I save that file in a folder (I have tried saving such files in a variety of folders - the Desktop, My Documents, a random folder on the home (C drive, etc.

(2)I use Search Companion and attempt to find the file by searching for the text I have just typed and saved in the .txt document.

Even if I navigate to the precise folder in which I have saved the .txt file and restrict the search to that folder, Search Companion does not find the file containing the text.

I have tried this on 3 different machines with the same disappointing results.

Is there a place where Search Companion is documented, so I can see detailed instructions that may explain why I have been unsuccessful? I have already read the instructions in the Windows help, and they are of no use. In fact, I followed those instructions and they led me to the situation I describe here.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There was a Trojan (Zbot, Backdoor-Trojan) on my PC, XP (SP3, updated) a few days ago, deleted by Malwarebytes after detecting the Trojan appearing to be there around one or two days on my PC.Obviously it installed a program or did it itself, that sent 17 e-mails (I had never seen or written by myself) to somewhere. Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

I am having issues getting Java to Install on a Windows 7 Pro PC in a stand alone environment.
Error Code 1603.  Java is needed on this PC to be able to print shipping labels from I am trying to install using the administrator account. I have removed previous versions of Java. I have  removed the MS updated KB2918614.
The java uninstall tool doesn't run because Java is required to run the java uninstall tool.  I have run multiple Microsoft Fixit Tools.  This is the second PC I have had this error with in this office. Does anyone have any thing more to offer that
might assist me. I have "Google'd" this error for 2 weeks now.  Help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!

Answer:Java Install error 1603 on Java 8u45

According to official site of Oracle, This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614The root causes of these errors are under investigation. If this error still persists after uninstalled this update.
You could try following zooeyhall?s suggestion to download and install a previous version of Java or try creating a new administrative user account and install Java with the new account.
Regarding to JAVA installation error, I?d suggest that we post at JAVA forum for further support. There you can get more effective suggestion by other experts who familiar with it. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

I'm deploying Java 6 on about 300 machines via Active Directory GPO. The only thing I couldn't find or download is the java 6 msi file. I googled plenty of stuff but couldn't find an answer.

I followed the directions on the Java site which suggest that I download the java6.exe offline install file (run the installation) and then I would be able to find the extracted .msi file under c:\documentsandsettings\users\localsettings\applicationdata\java......

But the .msi file is no where to be found. I'm at a lost. Can anyone help? I must be doing something wrong....

Someone I know has a PC that has Java (by Sun) installed, which asks to be updated from time to time. I'm not sure if Java is actually needed. It might be that it was once, but the programme that used it has been removed. Below is

public class Card
public String rank = "0";
public char suit = '0';

Below is which has the main routine.

public class Deck
public Card[] cards;

public Deck() {
cards = new Card[52];
cards[0].suit = 'D';

public static void main(String[] args)
Deck deckOfCards = new Deck();

I get NullPointerException: null
at this line:
cards[0].suit = 'D';

Answer:Easy Java problem -- I CAN'T FIND THE BUG!

Hi ajaytemp,

It's normal. The array of Card objects contains nothing.

Solution :

You replace the line cards[0].suit = 'D'; with this :
Card a = new Card();
a.suit = 'D';
cards[0] = a;
Edit :

Also, the line cards = new Card[52]; is only meant to allocate the needed space for 52 Card objects in memory.

In the PC settings, under network, I turned on Find Devices and Content. This sets my network type to Private, which allows other devices on my network to see and share files, etc. This works fine, except that every time I restart Windows, that setting gets turned back off, and it reverts my network connection to Public.

I'm running the latest updates for Windows 8.1. I have an onboard Intel 82579V NIC, connected via ethernet cable to my router.
I don't have any antivirus or anti-malware software running except for the built-in stuff from Microsoft. Is there some setting I missed somewhere to keep it from doing this?

Answer:"Find Devices and Content" turns off every time I reboot

Did you see the other thread that talks about basically the same problem?

Windows 8.1, "Find Devices and Content" missing

In your case this is normal behavior when you set your network to Public. That is why setting it to Private appears to fix the problem.

Besides setting the network to private you also need to turn on Network Discovery etc. in the Advanced Sharing settings.

About a month ago I was unfortunate enough to get the Moneypak Scam malware. I removed it by doing system restore. I then ran multiple scans with McAfee and Malwarebytes, and found nothing. I also checked for unusual processes running or registry keys and also found nothing, so I figured I got it.

But lately McAfee keeps finding Exploit-CVE2012-5076 or Exploit-CVE2012-1723 in it's scans. Not every time, and it seems random. I have the latest version of Java installed, and all other versions deleted. I've looked at various help sites, looked everywhere they told me to, and I still can't find any files or processes associated with these exploits. Malwarebytes still doesn't find anything. Also my computer is not exhibiting any symptoms of a problem.

I even wonder if McAfee is getting false positives, but I don't want to take the chance that the Moneypak malware created a vulnerability in my system that I'm not finding.

I've run Hijackthis and attached the log, but off hand I don't see anything in it that looks sinister. I don't really know where to go from here, and any advise would be appreciated. I'm running Windows 7, btw. Thanks!

Answer:McAfee keeps reporting Java exploits, but I can't find anything

Welcome to the Malware Removal Forum.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

**** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
Helpful Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. I'm using Thunderbird email and I'm evaluating software for archiving my emails. The software I'm interested in will output a series of .eml files, and TB will pull each email up when I double-click on the filename. Now if I could only figure out a way to search the files, I think the software would work for me.

The problem is that when I use "search" (WinXP) and specify the folder that the .eml files are in, I never find the search text I'm looking for - I know that messages exist in the folder with the search text, but the only hit I can get is on text that's in the message's HEADER, not in the BODY - Any idea why this isn't working the way I would have expected?

I've looked at a number of desktop search programs (Google, WDS, Yahoo, etc), but they require that they maintain an index - I don't want that kind of overhead, just want to search a folder on rare occasions (may be on a CD, for example) and I'm willing to live with a bit slower search due to a lack of an index. The standard Windows "Search" function would be fine if it would only find the search text in the body of the message.

I posted this on the Microsoft forums as well, but I have yet to find a solution on Google....

The title pretty much says it all. I am trying to use PS Media Server with Windows 8.1, but honestly whatever app I am using is irrelevant. The problem is, when I try to connect my PS3 to PS3 Media Server, it seems to require me to go into the right side menu, click settings, then change PC settings, then click network and then under connections, click my network connection and turn on "Find Devices and Content"

However, as you can see from my screen shot, that option is missing.

I am on my PERSONAL laptop, connected to a private network (it doesn't matter if I use my wireless or wired connection direct to the router it doesn't show up either way). I have tried enabling and leaving a homegroup, neither of which works.

Windows 8.1 has been a giant disappointment thus far, and this just adds fuel to the fire.

Answer:Windows 8.1, "Find Devices and Content" missing

UPDATE: Universal Media Server has much better options and is current.. Universal Media Server
Below you will find a guide which clearly outlines the necessary steps to use PS3 Media Server..

The Leaf: PS3 Media Server Configuration

Step 1 - Enabling UPnP on your Access Point / Router

Step 2 - Enabling UPnP on your Windows 8 box

**Make sure you have SSDP Discovery & UPnP Device Host set to Automatic**

Step 3 - Install the latest JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE)

Step 4 - Get and Install PS3 Media Server -

Step 5 - Configuring your local Firewall

** You must Allow a TCP connection using Port 5001 for inbound/outbound traffic**

Step 6 - Connect!

Start Media Server and wait for the PS3 to connect to it.

Hi All,

First time poster - from a quick review seems to be a great community and great to know that this level of support is available online!

This problem started a couple of days ago and has steadily got worse.

When trying to open commonly used websites - Such as google, bbc, facebook etc. I am getting an error saying

Content Encoding Error - The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

I can't imagine there is actually a problem with those sites, and I have found that sometimes it will go through ok - but not often. When i find this problem happens every single time is when I use the mini google search tool in the top right corner of firefox.

I have also had some cases where clicking on a regular link was redirecting me to lots of adverts and adult sites - however this seems to have been cleared up following a run of malwarebytes.

I am using Windows XP Service pack 3 Main browser is Firefox - recently upgraded to 4. Have AVG Free addition installed, Spybot Search and destroy and ad-aware. Recently installed malwarebytes following read a post on this forum where it solved the problem for someone having a similar fault.

Hope that is a good start in terms of info - if someone could please let me know what info / logs i need to provide to make it clearer, possibly with some simple instructions on how to produce and upload the logs I would be very appreciative.

Kind regards

Answer:Content Encoding Error

This situation nows seems to be worsening - if the two are related.

Am now getting 2 errors on every boot, just as Windows finishes loading.

1.) Error Loading - C:\Windows\pmqrsve.dll
2.) Error Loading - C:\Windows\oyugesagabi.dll

And on most recent boot straight after these I got a bluescreen error causing me to have to restart the machine - technical reference was Stop: 0x0000007E (OXC0000005, OX8a911922, OXBA5037BO, OXBA5034AC)

NO idea if this is all connected but problems do seem to be worsening - are there any logs i should run and post elsewhere? Am rather hesitant to start installing and running lots of software I don't really know how to use (HiJack this etc) without some guidance.

Hi everyone, it's my first post here and I just registered because I have a very annoying problem that's driving me nuts.

So, I have 3 PC's at home. Two desktops and one laptop. The desktops run Win 7 Ultimate and Win XP Professional SP2 respectively, while the laptop runs Win Vista Home Basic. Here's the deal.

While everything until yesterday was working perfectly, today something really weird happened. Two of my PC's, the desktop running XP and my laptop running Vista keep giving me a "Content Encoding Error" while I try to access any website. Even Google. 1 out of 5 times I try to access Google, it will load it eventually, after some difficulty in terms of speed, but still if I try to search for something, it's not sure if it will be able to load the results page. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. Let alone accessing other, heavier webpages. 99% of the times I try that, it probably will give me a Content Encoding Error again.

Now here's the weird part. Firefox is my default browser, yes, but I seem to be getting the same results with IE and Opera. They won't give me an error like Firefox, but they just won't enter any website I try to get to. And, the oddest of them all is the fact that my Win 7 desktop PC runs fine, no problems at all. With Firefox or IE.

I've tried searching a bit over the net, some people suggested that this could sometimes be a web server problem due to a certain gzip compression used. But I can't possibly imagine that this i... Read more

Answer:Content Encoding Error

Problem Solved. I'm explaining the solution below.

While trying to find out any similar characteristics between the two systems that showed the error, I thought about their antivirus program. The two affected PCs were using AVG Free while the one that was OK is not (this one uses NOD32). So I opened system restore and noticed that the last update AVG did to both PCs was the same day the problems started appearing (AVG makes a system restore point in most -if not all- online updates). So I reverted the system to an earlier system restore point than the suspicious updates, and guess what. Everything was back to normal. I could access all web pages, without errors or any kind of difficulties. So I uninstalled AVG before it tries to make the update again, and installed NOD32 on both PCs. It's been only a few hours that they've been fixed, but both PCs seem to be perfectly fine, so I will post again only in case I get the same symptoms once more in the following days, meaning that this was not the solution. Otherwise, this is it.

It seems I opened the thread and found a solution in a matter of hours, but I still thought I'd explain the situation in case someone else searches for this particular problem, because when I did there were very few references and even fewer solutions out there.

Once you have aquired the license, you are then redirected to the download page for the movie.

Now here's the thing, I have the latest version of IE and I have already aquired a few licenses and viewed a few movies before with the same version of IE. I also have WMP9, which has also worked well in the past.

This time, when I went to click on the site's button to aquire the license, I got a blank page with an error and the error is this:

Line 17
Character 1
Incorrect parameter
Code 0

Also, I thought I'd just try to update my security again, just in case it didn't "take" the first time, hey, it's a longshot but whatever, I tried and I got the same error with different Line and Character numbers.

Also, I download and installed Firefox, and to no avail, and Firefox didn't even give me an error, just a blank page.

The website's tech support looked at the problem for 15 minutes or so and had no solution for me. I googled this problem, but the only similar topics delt with WMP11 errors.

Answer:DRM content, parameter error

It might possibly be a service error that encounters when browsing that page. Sometimes those errors occur when the service updates its content and componets. Have you contacted the provider? I still don't think it's a browser error, cause as you mention you also tried another browser. Just tell them oraly what accurately happens.

Does anyone know why this code is producing a 'cannot find symbol' error from the compiler, on these two lines?

for (i = 1; i <= n; i += 2)

Here's my code in full:

public class Task5

public static void main (String args [ ])
int n = 1;

for (i = 1; i <= n; i += 2)

Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Getting an Error : Content Encoding Error . This Happens on my yahoo home page and many other Sites. Fix?

Answer:Getting an Error : Content Encoding Error ?

Try this (assuming you're using Firefox right?)
1) In the address bar type “about:config” (but without the inverted commas)
2) Tell it that you will be careful, Promise!!
3) In the filter type encoding
4) There should be one option reading “network.http.accept-encoding”
5) Click in the value column and type “true” (again without the inverted commas)
Better now?

I am using Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.

I noticed this issue in Firefox 3.6.8.

When I search Google, I am redirected to other advertising websites. Or I am taken to a Firefox error page which says "Content Encoding Error."

I have tried Google searches in Safari and I don't get any problems.

I have seen other posts about this topic on this forum, and I am hoping that someone can help me get rid of it as well. I understand it to be Malware, from what I have read. I am currently scanning my computer with Malwarebytes and AVG, though I had read that they rarely are able to pick up on the malware that causes this. For this reason, I am preemptively seeking help here.

Thanks in advance!

edit: sorry, I realize now this should be in the Malware section of the forum! I am not sure how to move it.

Hey gang,My laptop is having the same problem many seem to be having on here. Google search links are redirecting with Firefox 3.6.15 and IE. Besides the redirects, some pages will load up fine then seconds later jump to a "Content Encoding Error" page. Also, since this started up a couple days ago, my computer has been running (especially booting) much slower. A cold boot use to take me about 45 seconds, now it is running 5 to 8 minutes. For a while I was also getting boot errors and began forcing system restore during boots. I have fixed the boot errors after a couple of Malwarebyte runs and a stubborn system update that was refusing to take. Hope getting rid of any malware problems will fix the run speed.I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. Norton 2011 with updated list finds nothing. I'm having a bit of trouble getting hulu to run shows on my laptop.I'm not very tech savvy so I will try to explain my situation as best I can.
I recently purchased a new Asus X540L laptop running Windows 10. I first attempted to run my hulu after setting everything up in Firefox, however each time I go to start a video I'm given the following message:
There was a problem playing this protected content. (Error code: 3321)
If this error occurs repeatedly, please follow these steps:

Clear your Flash cache.. and then gives steps on how to do so
Go to (Http// and reset License Files
Try using another browser (and suggests using Google Chrome)

Okay, so I try option 3 first, and get the same message, only it suggests using Firefox instead. So go back and try both options 1 and 2, following all of the steps carefully (and multiple times, I might add), and getting no results from either.
So I then tried to Google my solution, only to be given the same solutions, with the same results. I've tried the protected sites and sandbox suggestions the sites offer as well, with still no luck.
Now, I'm running a Webrooter program, with a MacAfee protection, and though Google has told me this error is a Flash problem, I'm wondering if maybe it has something to do with my firewall or something. I've searched through the forums here and not found a solution to my problem either. I've even tried redownloading Flash player and nothing seems to be working.
I'm also running t... Read more

Answer:Hulu Protected Content Error 3321

Hi Jsteel,
From what i understand that error code is an old adobe drm issue (protected content) file.
Flash is known for being flaky at best, once you get one error, a whole host of them follow.
I would uninstall flash from your program files, restart the machine then re-install it again. When using hulu it should re-download the license file on its own. I would almost defiantly recommend chrome over Firefox as it seems to have better support. With that in mind clearing the chrome cache also wouldn't hurt.
Give that a quick go and let us know how to get on, or if any different errors pop up.

I have two PC one running xp and one 7s.

On one of them (7), I have been consistently getting the temporary Internet folder low content.IEs message, which it seems essentials thinks might be malware.

I wonder if it is?

On my other PC (XP)I just started to get a content- not low content-a content.IES message from essentials.

On both machines?

One low content, one just content?

Are my machines infected or is this just the usual MS?

Appreciate anything anyone can tell me.

Answer:Error message on content index. Downlevel Failed

I don't think the two problems are related. The "indexer" is probably something best turned off anyway:

Have you tried more than one Restore point, or running System Restore from Safe Mode?

If the problem persists you might want to turn it off, reboot and turn it back on again. This would have the effect of purging the cache. Once a new restore point is created, see if you can restore to it.

But first see if you can turn up any new info using the suggestions provided here:;en-us;q302796

With respect to the "java" problem, if you are not using Sun Java, you should install it. If you are, you should fully remove all components and reinstall it if you are having continuing errors, especially on more than one site.

But I don't see any relationship between the Java problem and the Windows indexer, these should be entirely unrelated.

 This error comes up whenever I click the Tools->Repository Management->Content button. All of the left sidebar options (easy tools configuration, easy tools settings, etc) that you see behind this error message show up as just completely blank/empty when I hit okay here. My theory: it looks like the paths are strange. C:\inetpub\ftproot\/repository" is mentioned several times. That must be a typo somewhere right? There shouldn't be a path with a back and a forward slash in it, should there? Can someone help me figure out where this is? I click any result and it takes me to a random site.
for the Content Encoding Error its on FireFox and hasn't happened to me before as the same with the Google Problem.

It shows.

Content Encoding Error

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

* Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Also there is something that keeps showing the iexplore.exe which is Internet Explorer without it showing the Window. It is probably why im hearing random stuff like advertisements and site clicks. Like when you go to another site it does a *click* noise.
