I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Nokia 6600 and Belkin Bluetooth Dongle

I use a Belkin USB bluetooth adapter on my computer to communicate with my Sony T610, and it was fairly easy (this is not to rub the salt in).I don't know whether my Belkin bluetooth software is the same as yours. But having installed the Belkin software/drivers, I don't need any further software to connect with the phone. (Even the Nokia site doesn't suggest that you need the Nokia PC suite.)I don't know what steps you've taken (and you may have used the bluetooth adapter successfully with a previous phone), so don't get mad if you've done everything and it's still not working. But first make sure that the bluetooth adapter is properly installed. Check in Device Manager there are no yellow marks. You need to configure the bluetooth services that you want to run on your computer. You may have been asked to do this when you first installed the software or the driver, but check again. If you have My Bluetooth Places on your computer, double click that and use the Bluetooth setup wizard to find out. Select I want to configure services. Then try File Transfer first, and follow the prompts. Then activate Bluetooth on your Nokia. The first time you're supposed to give the phone a name and set visibility to ALL (you must have done that by now).On the computer, My Bluetooth Places, double click Find Bluetooth Devices. If it finds your phone, you should be prompted to "pair" the computer with the phone, by giving your computer a name, entering a pin code (any combination of numbers will do) on the computer. Computer then should try to communicate with phone. Here, if the bluetooth on the phone is working, the phone should tell you that another device is trying to connect, and ask you to enter the pin code. Enter the same code on the phone, and the computer should be added to the list of devices on your phone. Then you can transfer files between the 2 devices from either end. To do it from the phone end, go to the application on the phone which has the relevant file, find the file, Options, Send, via Bluetooth. From the computer end, double click the icon for your phone, and see whether you have an OBEX File Transfer folder. Double click it and you should see all the files available for transfer to the computer. Just copy and paste it to anywhere on the computer. To send files from the computer to the phone, you can just right click any file (be careful it must be small), and click send to, Bluetooth, your phone name.If it doesn't work, tell us which step is not working.

Hello can anyone help me? I seem to be experiencing problems in setting up my bluetooth dongle. I have installed all the software and paired up the devices with no problems, I have even managed to send a file from the phone to the computer but cannot get the computer to send to the phone. I have a Sony-Ericsson S700i phone and a Belkin 10m Bluetooth Dongle. I have searched around on Google and there seems to be a common thing here since SP2, does anyone know of a patch or where I might be going wrong???

Hi,

I have a belkin wireless bluetooth dongle, model number F8T003 ver.2 but apparently it does not work with Vista. I am baffled as to why it would work on XP but not vista surely there must be a driver to fix this? Belkin website says not supported? but most of their products that say XP work with Vista so why not this?

Any help appreciated as belkin technical support are closed for the weekend.

I have just bought a Nokia 6230i and the person from the shop we bought it from said that it has an MP3 player on it, but in order to use it we need a bluetooth dongle. Now I have no idea how bluetooth works, so what am I supposed to do? Where's the best place to buy a bluetooth dongle, I know they are USB things but apart from that havent got a clue. Can USB's hold different sizes of music?Any help much appreciated!ThanksChar

Answer:Bluetooth dongle for Nokia 6230i

The nokia 6230i has 32mb of internal storage which is expandable by a memory card up to 512mb. In order to transfer songs from your pc you can connect in 3 ways: Bluetooth dongle, Infra-red or direct usb plug n play cable. By far the easiest to setup would be the direct cable first, infra-red second and bluetooth last. If I were you I'd purchase a cable and a 512mb mmc memory card if you wish to listen to music.

Hello Lunie and welcome to the forum
Have you tried using the Vista driver from Belkin? http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/476/~/f8t016---mini-bluetooth-adapter---driver
Make sure the device is not plugged in attempt to install the driver and let us know what happens
Ps if it does not install normally you can also right click on it select properties, compatibility and select install in compatability mode for Vista

I hope this helps

Hi there,

i would like to use GPS Navigation with my Nokia 6600 via Bluetooth GPS (Model Royaltek GPS x-Mini).
Prior usage i've to install the software on the MMC-Card of the mobile Phone via Nokia PC Suite (for Nokia 6600).

For BT i'm using the Toshiba SD Card 2 within Portege.

With the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager (3.20.01) i can discover and establish a serial connection via BT without problems.

When starting the Nokia PC Suite (that automatically "see's" the new BT Port ...) the connection failes.

Any idea ? Thanks ...

Answer:Portege R100 + BT SD Card 2 + Nokia 6600 with Nokia PC Suite ? NO CONNECT !

Hello

Unfortunately I can not give you a proper answer. The fact is that the Bluetooth works properly and notebook can communicate with the unit. Why the connection fails after starting Nokia PC suite is not easy to say.

In my opinion you should try to contact Nokia support. They have more experience with own software products and it is probably tested by Nokia. If you have a solution please let us know.

Good luck!

ok odd issue and one I don't fully understand

I got asked this from a mate at work
He has a USB wifi dongle and uses MS's zeroconfig service to manage it ( the supplied app is crap!). HOWEVER whenever he plugs in his Bluetooth dongle his wireless gets turned off and disabled

even after a reboot wireless is still down and he has to go into the wireless applet and enable it (then its all good)
I have asked him to try using different USB slots (thinking it could be that both dongles on one USB controller and its having a fit... but it shouldn't)

I have never come across this so have no idea where to start with this

Hello all, as title. I've set up a wireless network (for a work colleague) between a Belkin wireless router and a Belkin wireless usb chap. Everything works quite happily, most of the time.

The problem occurs when he logs out, or switches users, the usb chap loses connection to the network thereby making net access impossible. To fix this, he clicks on the Belkin icon in the taskbar and repairs the network. All is fine again.

The PC is protected using Norton Internet Security (dunno which version) I'm thinking that the firewall is preventing the router from renewing the IP address. Am I barking up the wrong tree here?

I had a similar problem with my own wireless network, leave the PC on all night and in the morning there was no internet access, a quick check of the firewall's log soon told me that the firewall was blocking the router. I added the router's IP address to the firewall's trusted zone and all is well again.

Any assistance on this would be greatly received!
TIA.

Hello Tech support!,

This is my first post here so hey everyone! .

My enquiry is about a brand new Belkin N150 F6D4050ed that i bought last week.

I had to buy it because my previous Wifi Dongle just stopped working all together, it was an excellent dongle, gave me full signal strength and never cut out.

Then i bought the Belkin.. I installed the drivers, (There is no software though, unless someone can point me to some?) plugged it in, since then, i have had 2-3 bars constantly, mostly 2 bars, The router is only 8-10 Feet away from me in the next room which is seperated by a very thin wall, It cuts off all together if a body stands in front of it, such as my brother coming in to chat.

I have tried to move it around the room with no joy, All laptops and other wireless devices in the house connect to the router fine (Including downstairs in the garden even), So maybe its not setup properly? or faulty? Im not sure.

Im a gamer, so i need a stable strong connection and its impossible to stay in games with this dongle.

Any help is much appreciated! as the Belkin Troubleshooting is a bit vague and doesn't really apply to me. Thanks!

Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

Direct link to the program is here http://wpc.475a.edgecastcdn.net/00475A/XirrusWiFiInspectorSetup.1.2.0.exe

{If the above link does not work heres another link http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/fid,77196-order,4/download.html}

Then run and install the program - on a wireless enabled PC/Laptop
if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

Run the program

A user guide is available here http://www.xirrus.com/Products/Wi-Fi-Inspector/xirruswifiinspectorguide1-2-0.aspx

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and ... Read more

I bought a Creative D-100 wireless speaker about a year ago. It connects via Bluetooth and worked fine (at first) with my Desktop PC, using a Medialink USB dongle. However, after a few months, it no longer connects to the speaker. When I open Bluetooth Control, I see the Creative D-100, but when I click on "Connect," it acts as if it wants to connect, but after a second or two, tells me I am disconnected. I re-paired the speaker, but still, no connection.

A friend, on a recommendation from me, bought a D-100, but was unable to connect from the start. I also bought one as a gift that can't connect to the recipient's PC. All three USB dongles were from a different manufacturer. However, in each case, Windows 7 was the OS.

The speaker connects effortlessly to my Google tablet with built-in Bluetooth. My diagnostic skills are exhausted. Does anyone have any suggestions?

A few shots in the dark:

Go to the Bluetooth dongle's mfr. web site and be sure you have the latest drivers. Windows Update won't always catch them.

If this doesn't work, I would poke around Motorola's support page and user forums on the ht820 for more info. Although Bluetooth is theoretically a universal standard, the reality is not all Bluetooth devices play nice with all adapters.

I've heard bad things about Bluetooth dongles. If you have a PC, have you considered getting a wireless card you can put inside your PC? Or, if you have a laptop, maybe a network PC card? It's probably cheaper than the USB dongle anyway... plus you get to have another free USB slot

To check to see if your USB drive is in fact defective, put another USB device into the slot, restart, and observe. If you have USB mouse, try putting that. If it can recognize it after the reboot, then its just the Bluetooth dongle's fault. You can also try a thumbdrive, basically anything that uses the USB interface

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,Can anyone tell me if I leave a usb bluetooth dongle in the back of the computer usb port 24/7 it wont damage the dongle as Im removing it every time i require to use it

Answer:bluetooth usb dongle

I don't see why it may be damaged if you leave it in.Then again, I'm not an expert on Bluthooth devices. If you can disable it, disable it if you don't need it.If you're on a laptop and want to save power, go ahead and remove it. I don't think it matters.

I need a Bluetooth dongle... but it has to work with usb 1.0 (maybe 1.1). The laptop it will be used on is a hp Presario c751nr. I saw most are usb 2.0 but I've heard 2.0 is also usable in 1.0.

Answer:what bluetooth dongle should I buy?

Most are backward compatible. If you want to be sure just look at the specs for the one you want to buy.

USB 1.0? Are you sure about that? According to this it is USB 2.0 Compaq Presario C751NR Specs - CNET

Question: Bluetooth Dongle!

hey,

I have recently been given a blue-tooth dongle by a friend, but he didn't give me no driver disk. He said it wasn't needed as its plug an play.

I plugged the device into my comp an it was detected by windows.
But then it said it couldn't be installed as it didn't have no drivers in windows.
So i do really need a driver disk.
I have looked on the web an cant find any thing.
Also i don't even know the make of the device. All i have is Blue-tooth V.1.2 Class 2 USB dongle.
When windows detects the device it is named as Siw.

I have checked the driver-guide.com
an done a google search but I'm not getting much luck.

Does any body know where i can get the drivers for this device??
All help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Hello,

Is there anybody who knows about a Bluetooth key that would be fully recognized and accepted in Win 7 64 bits among the ones we find on the market ? The one I have, a very tiny dongle sold without driver is not correctly seen in device manager...

Thank you

Answer:bluetooth USB dongle

Although I have not tested it in Win 7 x64, the Azio BTD-V201 has a Win 7 x64 driver.

It works perfectly in Win 7 x86.

I have a USB Bluetooth Dongle that I used to use in Vista and XP, where it was simply plug and play. Then all I had to do was go to Control Panel and there would be a Bluetooth icon where I can add other Bluetooth devices. But after plugging it in Windows 7, there's no such icon when I go into Control Panel. When I first plugged it in, Windows 7 automatically and successfully installed the drivers for it. But since there's no way, or at least that I know off, of how to add a device to my computer on Windows 7, I tried searching for my computer on my mobile phone so that I can add it in my devices. But my mobile phone can't find my computer. How do I add other Bluetooth devices to my Windows 7 system? I even tried going into services.msc and setting Bluetooth Support Service to Automatic and starting it, but I'm still not able to add my mobile phone to my computer. Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just simply typed in Bluetooth in the search pane on the start menu and there was an option to add a device. LOL!

Answer:bluetooth dongle

Some items need the software installed before you plug it in. I don't know if this is the case with this item, I suggest you have a look at the manual. If you didn't get a manual have a look on the disk as its probably on there.

Hi there.ive just purchased a dongle for my Motorola e550,problem is . ive put the disc in and installed it. now when i got too put the donle in the usb port it flashes and nothing happens.Any 1 help me please as ive not much idea on how too get this up an running. thank s Swanny :O)

Answer:Bluetooth Dongle

" put the donle in the usb port it flashes and nothing happens."That is fine. When it is flashing it is searching for other bluetooth devices. You may have an icon on the desktop called my bluetooth places. This is where transfered files are stored from the phone. What you need to do now is to enable the bluetooth on the phone and send something to the computer. Pick a picture if you have one.You should then get a warning that a bluetooth device is trying to contact you. You will then have to give the computer and the phone " a name ". You will also be asked to make a password for both devices.Well, you do on mine.

Question: bluetooth dongle

hi, this is the first time im on this forum and i had a problem with my new bluetooth dongle.
well, when i bought it it camed with its own software. i herd in some forums that when a bluetooth divice is connected to a computer and u have sp2 there would be a bluetooth icon on control panel and a my bluetooth place icon in my computer. but i have sp2 but i dont have does icons. and also my mrouter does not find the bluetooth devise. so the only way i can use my bluetooth is with its own software , (which is useless to me).
does any one know how i can fix this problem?

Answer:bluetooth dongle

There will be no blutooth icon if Windows doesn't know you have a blutooth thingie installed. You need the drivers for your dongle. Try ones from the manufacturer's website instead of the outdated ones you have on the CD.

Hello Guys,I've been trying to use a TDK USB Bluetooth Dongle for quite a while now to connect to my Nokia 6230,however after installing the software that came with the dongle,I still can't seem to get the two to connect. Everytime I try it's as if the dongle's not attached to the PC,when the indicator light on the dongle itself is clearly lit with a steady green light to indicate it's properly connected.I've tried to use TDK's website but that's worse than useless,so I was hoping one of you guys has encountered a similar problem, and that you've managed to get around it.Thanks in advance,Mike

Answer:TDK Bluetooth Dongle

Hi,I too have the 6230 but use a dongle purchased off E-BAY. I take it you have paired the devices via your phone's Bluetooth function this is so you can "Talk" between the two devices. If you have then you will see the Phone with your I.D. in the Menu on the Start up page of your Bluetooth Software. If not Uninstall, reload, and try again.

Hi everyone,Is it right that to communicate between my pc and Mobile phone I need to buy a Dongle ! and if so what does this little device actually offer me because I have a high end phone and some of the stuff I would like on it are 'trapped' inside my computer, say I want a snazzy song or an image will the Dongle allow me to download it to my Phone ? not too keen on paying for polphonic stuff as I've been told that hackers can get to you easily ?Sharp GX30.many thanks,

Hi All,

I had an older Lenovo Desktop pc running Windows 7 Home Premium and 8GB of ram with no built in Bluetooth. I bought a Medialink Bluetooth Adapter - USB to Bluetooth 4.0 - Class 2 Smart Ready Adapter with Low Energy Technology. This setup worked beautifully. No real issues I couldn't figure out. I could walk around my whole (small) apartment and have perfect audio. This PC died of a power surge.

I bought a new PC here.

I plugged the dongle in and the audio is terrible. It will barely let me walk 10 feet before breaking up severely. It even breaks up if I put something in the way of the headphones; drinking coffee for instance. This is extremely annoying when trying to watch a video and then the audio screws up and is then out of sync. I figured I would need some drivers so I contacted the dongle's retailer. They gave me a link to
http://www.broadcom.com/support/?gid=2. I downloaded the Windows 7 64bit. Installed those and I've had no real difference; audio still cuts out. I have also tried using a different USB port. I am using a BT keyboard and mouse with no noticeable performance loss. I was using the same setup RE BT mouse, keyboard, and headphones, on the dead PC According to the Kinivo; the manufacturer of the headphones, there are no drivers for the headphones; they come from whatever the dongle it is you are using. Explanation on their website here.

Am I missing something stupid and simple here? A PC with with much more capabilities can... Read more

How much is your time worth? Bluetooth dongles can be purchased on-line for very little money. Personally, I value my time enough that I would not spend much of it trying to get that old one to work, I would buy another and move on.

My computer keeps telling me that my Bluetooth Dongle is unplugd !!!

Answer:USB BlueTooth Dongle Stops

If the port is physically damaged you may hear the dong-ding / ding-dong sound while using whatever is plugged into the port - that should only happen when it's first plugged in, and when it's unplugged. If you hear that, try plugging it into a different USB port. The plastic plug inside the USB plug and the USB port that prevents you from plugging the plug in upside down should not be missing. The contacts in the port should not be bent out of place. The outer metal shell of the port should not be bent so the plug is loose when plugged in. The same thing can happen if the USB plug on the device you plug in is bent out of shape, or if any USB connection is loose. You may need to plug it into a different USB port otherwiseIt may not be recognized properly if it's plugged into a port in an external USB hub, or a port on the front of a desktop case.Troubleshooting USB device problems See Response 1:http://www.computing.net/answers/ha....

Hi, i have been trying to make my new usb bluetooth dongle to work on my dell inspiron 1501 laptop for some time now and i ended up making it worse by trying to fix it my self.
I am running multiboot windows xp and windows 7 (RTM)
I first put in the usb dongle and it installed drivers but it would not pick up any other bluetooth devices and even when i set it in the settings to make my pc discoverable my phone could not discover it. I have read online and tried a few sollutions including making sure that the bluetooth service is enabled and it is.

I then found a sollution were someone said that windows vista drivers should work i installed them and it looks like my bluetooth dongle has malfunctioned and now i cannot make it install the drivers it is always saying "unknown device" if i try to update the drivers it says "cannot find a better match for your unknown device"

If possible could someone give me some ideas on how i can fix the malfunction error and also if possible a way to make it discover devices.

Also, i tried the broadcom bluetooth downloader software which auto-configs bluetooth devices but it freezes at "connect your bluetooth device" but it is connected.

Thanks for all the help.

Answer:Has anybody got ANY Bluetooth Dongle to work?

I have a CSR Bluetooth Dongle that works fine for me, although i didnt buy it, and the dongle itself lacks identification. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 btw.

I want to transfer photos from my (bluetooth compatible)mobile phone to my PC (Windows XP) using bluetooth. Now my PC has no bluetooth program/driver as far as I can tell.If I buy one of these small USB bluetooth dongle/adaptors and plug it into the PC, is that all I need in order to transfer information from the phone to the PC and vice-versa or do I need a driver for the PC as well as the dongle ?Thanks in advance.

Answer:Bluetooth dongle/adaptor.

Once you have the dongle up and running and windows has recognised and installed it you can use it in exactly the same way as transferring data between bluetooth enabled phones.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to transfer all audio wirelessly (as if there was a cable connected to line out) and hook up a wireless mouse.

Seems like the cheapest way to do both things is through bluetooth. Price aside, I'm afraid streaming all audio from my computer via wifi would slow down my internet connection.

Problem is my computer (VAIO vpceb1m1e) doesn't have bluetooth. It has 4 USB ports. If possible I would like to use only one USB dongle (nano) for both things.

Is it even possible to use a same Bluetooth USB dongle for audio streaming and mouse control, both working fine?

Any system you recommend?

Thanks a lot
