Preferred Solution: No colour from Epsom 740 Colour printer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: No colour from Epsom 740 Colour printer

How long since it printed colour. Why is it you are just having to sort the drivers

Have you tried going through the cleaning process? sounds very much like a blocked head. Have had similar problems and have cleared the problem using the Epson head cleaning utility. If this doesn't work it would be worth purchasing a head cleaning cartridge to clean/flush the system.

is there any way to install this printer without the CD on a PC with xp system?

Answer:epsom stylus colour 400

I don`t think you can install without the CD. I`d suggest going to Epson`s website and contacting them with a view to getting a CD. Is the 400 an older printer? I think my brother had one a few years ago, but like him, it`s gone. No,alas, I don`t still have the CD.

Hi there gurus.
My pc doesn?t show certain colour objects in Publisher 2007 and some on-line sites. Overall, the screen colour is very good. I know the fault is localised, because when I switch to Print Preview in Publisher it looks fine and I can see all the object colours. (I only lose the colour with objects, not text)
Also, when I send a copy of a Publisher page to my partner who is on the same PC, it looks fine on her screen.
I?ve tried going to Install/uninstall programs and run the Repair, but to no avail. The guys in my computer shop are clueless without seeing it. Anyone who can help solve this for me is a gem.
Cheers!

What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with compatible inks?

I'm happy to invest in buying a colour laser: but I can't find any refills for lasers
At least they don't seem to be widely available

So, my choice is: colour laser + genuine inks or colour inkjet + compatible inks

From what I know, side by side: laser's are cheaper
But, how about when compared to genuine laser ink to compatible colour inkjet inks?

I should stress that for me needs, I am not overly concerned if using compatibles doesn't give me perfect results - just close as possible is fine for me

What's more important probably is speed of print at highest quality

ANY feedback would be great

Thanks

Answer:What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with ink compatibles?

Finding Compatible Remanufactured Color Toner cartridges can be dicey. While they may be available, the problem may end up being the company tht does the remanufaturing. It is also dependant upon the model printer you get. I have noticed that the savings on my Black Canon X-25 toner cartridge is only about $12 lower than the cost of a Factory original cartridge. There are sites that I would save up to $30 per cartridge, but part of this is eaten up by the shipping charges. For my toner cartridge, I am about 1/2 mile from the store that does nothing but ink and toner refill services, and their garauntee thier cartridges 100%. In 3 years I have only had to return one cartridge and it was an HP #17 Color cartridge.

Now per page printing cost on a laser is much cheaper than on an inkjet. Though the printer cost itself is usually much higher for a Laser. Personally I use the laser much more than than my Inkjet, but I do use the inkjet for all color printing. But then 95% of my printing is monochrome text.

Hi, I'm using the Aerolite theme with Aeroglass, and want a consistent colour for the borders. So I set accent colour from background 'off' and choose the colour. Fine so far.

Now that's ok if I log off and on.

But if I sleep or hibernate (not personally ) and then resume, the colour and setting are lost.

I noticed that on resuming, the border colour is present until the 'Please wait' screen appears, after which these settings are lost.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello.

I seriously need help with my PC. I've reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and I can't chnge the Screen resolution or the colour quality. It sucks. The resolution stays at 800x600, the lowest possible, and the colour quality stays at 8 bit. I think I have a ATI 128 MB DDR Radeon 9800 Pro. I dunno whether thats a driver or what. And I also don't know my graphics card, or whether that will help at all.

I would swear at this point but I'm too young.

Oh but I'll use this instead

Has anyone got any help for me that I can understand. I'm 14 but I still can understand most computer talk.

Anyway thanks very much for reading all this crap and please try not to point out all my spelling mistakes.

Alex Jordan

Answer:[resolved]Help with resolution and colour and colour quality??.. anyone??

Heya, welcome to the forums

Okay, it has to do with your drivers. Go to ATI's website and find your driver.

Here's the link

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

Please download and install both the Control Center as well as the Display driver. Then restart your computer and try to change the resolution.

Cheers!

Answer:Screen colour to match magazine colour?

I found the easiest way to achieve this was to print the picture and then adjust my screen to match. Once you've adjusted the screen all future pictures which look too light or dark, on screen, can be adjusted to suit within your software.

I was just thinking that wouldn't it be great if we get more color options to change the background color on our Windows Phone devices than just black or white as we get on Windows 8.1 devices to customize background color along with tile colour?

I personally like the black and white, but I saw a mockup of a dim tropical photo in place of the black and it looked quite beautiful.

Hi Allhope someone more knowledgable can advise - I recently purchased a Lexmark x500n multifunction colour laser printer - I had a big black print job to do excel and word - 2000 pages - i was shocked to see that - ok the black starter cartridge of 2500 pages was nearly empty- fair enough - but all three colour cartridges (1500 page size) were nearly all empty too - I hadn't done any colour printing but when i contacted the manuf they advised that the printer uses colour also to print black!! - it's getting returned to them - but do do all colour lasers do this - obviously this quadruples the costs of printing and has put my costing out of the window!! - any advice would be great - it's a network colour printer, with copier and scanner that I need - a fax would be great but not essential.thanks in advanceTrifly

Answer:COLOUR LASER - PRINTING BLACK USING COLOUR!!

That would pee me off no end. How in God's name can it use colour to create black when there's a black cartridge in there? A cheapo mono laser seems to be your ideal tool. I know nothing about colour laser printers, but is there an option anywhere in the settings to print using only the black cartridge? Does the printer still work if you take out the colour cartridge while printing only black text documents?

Question: colour printer

Hi
I just printed out a colour photo using the HP PSC2410. I discovered that if a drop of water falls on it, it wipes away the color off the picture, in other waords it is a temporary print. is there any way i could make the prints permananet or am i using the wrong paper(HP glossy print) or am i using some temporary ink(HP supplied as well).

Answer:colour printer

quite common. your printing with ink...most ink will rub if you drop water on it. write on a peice of paper and it will do the same. However, on most photo quality paper, the ink pretty much stays on there if water gets on there. If you want to print out a photo and make sure nothing wrecks it, you can buy stuff to coat them. Or you could just shove it in an album/frame so no water will ever get on it

Question: Colour Printer

Would someone recommend a good colour printer. I am willing to pay upto 100 but I don't want one that guzzles the ink!! It will mainly be for photos. It doesn't have to have black as I have a cheap black printer which is excellant for docs etc.

Answer:Colour Printer

We have an HP 3650.You can't go far wrong with HP printers, their printing times can be slightly slower than other computers but Ink Cartridges tend to last for about 2 months - when the low on ink appears the ink cartridges normally last for another 2 weeks. We used to have an Epson but now we wouldn't get a Printer that isn't an HP due to the ink cartridges lasting longer, the ink cartridges being cheaper, and HP printers being more reliable than Epson anyway.

Printer not printing colours as shown on photos on screen,(all blue & pink)
i am using Windows XP.

Answer:printer colour problems

All printers will print a test pattern. From that you can determine which colors aren’t printing properly. If there is ink in the cartridge for that color run a cleaning and deep cleaning if necessary. If possible just clean the affected colors.

If the cleaning doesn’t work:
HP and Lexmark give you new heads with a new cartridge.
You can remove the heads from most Canons. Soak them head down in ammonia or hot water.
If you can’t get an Epson running with cleaning cycles and you are sure there is ink in all the tanks the cheapest option is probably a new printer.

We are using a Konica Minolta 5430 DL printer which has suddenly started to print all our colour documents with a greeny/yellow tint. Our IT support contractor thinks it could be a fault with the toner cartridge pack. As these cost 300+, its an expensive way to find out if what he says is true. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Answer:Colour printer problems

Color shifts in printing are almost always due to running out of or lack of dispensing of one or more colors from the source. The only way I know of to determine for sure without actually purchasing more toner of the missing color is simply to take the printer to a repair center.

I don't work on printers; I usually just send those customers to a printer repair facility. Perhaps someone with some printer repair experience will happen along with more help.

I'm pissed off at my printer, because he's making troubles the whole night.

Where I'm now: I have a small 3 coloured grafic, orange, yellow and red. He prints it as a colorflow from blue over brown to green but at the wrong places. the only wright colour is red.

How I got there: First exchanged Magenta because it was emty, yellow is nearly full and recently exchanged cyan. he has still some black and this isnt really needed anyway. and during the whole process I did those cleaning, deep cleaning, nozzle check and print head alignment, in the hope it would correct anything. But nothing helped.

The printer is a bit old, but he served me well up to now.

As a idea to solve the problem i printed several papers only with about 15 of that grafic, hoping he gets the wrong colour-mix "washed-out". Which he does a bit till the end of a paper, and in the next it's wrong all over again.

Anyone hasgot an idea?
\\Edit: Ok now it's even worse, it's practically blue and a bit violet. As if the magenta and cyan come in way too strong, and the yellow way too soft, although it clearly has enough ink.

Answer:Printer colour matches

Don't know if you have the same options as I have but try this..... When you click print in your Photo edit program choose properties for your printer and look in there for Advanced settings, if there are any, look for colour sliders that allow you to change these and reduce the red or increase the other two colours until you get a colour print out that is near to the exact colour you have on screen you should be able to save these settings with a name that you remember also set the Printer Resolution before you save, it's then a easy matter to select this colour profile next time in advanced settings.

I have an Epson Photo 870 Inkjet and it's driving me up the wall.
Admittedly I've had it years and it's done a lot of printing, but now it's getting a bit long in the tooth. Every time I print I have to clean the heads. The kids complain all the time because the quality it not consistent. I have used genuine cost a fortune Epson cartidges and also compatibles, but I think it's past its best.

My Mums old B&W Brother goes on and on, never needs cleaning, looking at and never paper jams.

So, I was thinking of investing in a colour laser printer and thought you lot out there might be able to recommend a good bit of kit.

I'm not too worried about speed.
Something with separate colour cartridges would save cash, not just 1 black 1 colour.
A good quality print, maybe even up to photo standard.
Not too pricey on cartridges and maybe something I can get compatible cartridges for.

I'm sure there are some of you out there with some advice.

Sounds like the Cyans empty or blocked. Try taking the cartridge out and wiping the printhead with a damp tissue. You could also try tapping the cartridge gently on a hard surface. Best to put some paper down before trying this as finding the balance between sufficient and excessive force in the tapping can be messy. If that doesn't work, it may need a new cartridge.

Hi all,I have a Lexmark PRO901 here which is refusing to print in colour. I have installed brand new colour cartridges which are definitely seated properly. The printer is reading that the cartridges were full when I put them in, and after I tried printing and photocopying a few things the levels have gone down, which I'm guessing is inaccurate considering not a single drop of colour is on the paper. I have updated the firmware to the latest version and that has done no good. I want to buy a colour laser printer for home use. It will be used mainly for word documents with the occasional photograph thrown in.

Don't tell me to buy an inkjet because that is not what I want. What I want is a recommendation for a laser printer capable of 1200dpi in A4 format. Preferably something that you have had personal experience with.

This printer will not get a lot of use, but I do not want to wish that I had bought something better as soon as I get it home.

You help in making the right choice is appreciated.
Regards from Graeme Marion.

Answer:Which colour laser printer to buy?

A few questions.
What is your budget range? Are we talking something sub $1000? When you say 1200 DPI, do you mean 1200x1200 or 1200x600? 1200x1200 is usually on higher end printers in the $1500-$2000 range.
Do you prefer the output of a specific engine technology? Or does the print engine (LED,Toner,Wax) not matter to you?
Also, what kind of performance do you want in the printer, must it be single pass color machine? Or do you want the high-speed color capabilites of the single pass printers?

Those questions being asked I dug up a few different printers in varying price ranges.

Hi,

Can someone please recommend me a colour laser printer for home use? Resolution should be at least 1200 x 1200 dpi. The option to print both sides of the paper would be nice. Multiple paper trays not necessary, nor anything else that will add unnecessary bulk to its size. There should also be connection for Ethernet and USB. Preferable that it uses separate toner cartridges for the different colours, so if one colour runs out then only that colour needs changing rather than the whole lot.

Thanks.

Yesterday I tried to install new ink cartridges into my printer. ( EPSOM 880 Colour. ) When I powered off the printer the ink carriers stayed to the right when they are supposed to go to the left of the interior to allow access to the housings for the cartridges. The only way I found to get around this was to start to print something, then power off the printer whilst it was some way alomg the printing route. After changing the cartridges with new ones I resumed printing. The ink cartridge indicators now still show both empty and printing is erratic. The test printouts indicated that the heads needed to be cleaned, which I did OK, but when printing text the spacer lines are almost blending together. I see from other posts that Lexmark is not a popular make of Printer but I hate being defeated by a bit of plastic.

The printer simply won't print colour. Black is fine.
I have;
Replaced the cartridge, several times, with proper shop bought Lexmark ones, the colour ink comes out the bottom freely onto tissue paper.
I have deleted all Lexmark Drivers and reloaded from their website.
I have checked all connections that I can without dismantling the thing.
I have replaced the USB cable with a known working one. I have changed the USB slot.
I have run all the head cleaning, alignment, test pages, several times.

Not a whiff of colour.

My canon printer MP210 suddenly stopped printing colour today. I had set up another monitor to work with my lap top and I had fiddled with colour settings so don't know if either of those made a difference. I've 'fiddled' back with colour settings and tried the laptop alone again but the printer still doesn't print colour.

Any suggestions please ?

Thanks, Daf

Answer:Canon printer won't print colour

Hello,
will need more detail to make an assessment. What happens when you try to print color? Do you only get black ink on the page? Did you remember to remove the tape sealing the cartridge as the directions on the color cartridge indicated? Do you hear any strange sound or get any messages? Does your computer's printer driver/interface indicate you have color ink? The possibilities are many so please zap me back a reply and I will do my best to help.

Waiting for your reply!!
Regards
Kate

Can anyone recomend a good colour laser printer that costs no more than ?1000. I need it to print A4 but if anyone knows of one that will also accept A3 without compromising on quality then you can let me know. I don't want the printer to be able to print 1000's of print quickly I want it to print good quality prints, even if it means it takes a bit longer.

I think if you think of home office suitable for a pro that needs a good quality printer that will be ideal for all of my needs then you have the idea. If there is one which costs a bit more then you can also add that as well, and can you also tell me why you think the printer your recomending is a good printer in your opinion.

Answer:Recomend A Colour Laser Printer

I have never used this particular model but I have always been very happy with hp laser printers.
1200x1200 dpi. No a3 and may be a bit more than you need but a nice network laser printer.

Help me please. I have an old PC (AMD Duron, 192 MB RAM) which does me for Internet and word processing. I now wish to buy a new PC, to purchase a digital camera and a colour printer. I have been advised I need a modern up-to-date PC with lots of RAM, fast chip, and large hard disk. I'm now lost. Max price for PC 1,000, camera 300'ish, printer don't know prices. Can anyone out there offer any suggestions (clean ones, although rude jokes are very acceptable. Mike (OAP)

Answer:New PC, digital camera and colour printer

Any digital camera should work fine with your system, if you want to save the pictures off your camera you better doing it to cd, do you have a cd-writer you can get one for about 45, if you want photo quality pictures you might need to spend 150 plus on a printer.ps if you have a duron processor you might be able to upgrade to an Athlon processor & more memory for very little cost try & find out what your motherboard make & model no is.

i know this may not be the right forum, but i'm not sure where to stick this.

i'm having a stange problem with my printer profiles and i'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on it. don't worry, its a goofy windows issue

ok, long story short i use 3rd party inks for my epson C86 so i need to use a different colour profile. by default, the profile that comes with epson's drivers is alrady in the printer properties. i've added my new profile, but for some reason it won't use it. i even removed the epson profile from the list and the damn thing still prints with it.it says that the new one is set as default and the old one isn't even in the list....but damn. i'm confused. just trying to print using the windows picture viewer, so this isn't even anything complex.

anyone have any ideas? thanks!

I have recently upgraded my system and changed over to XP Home from Windows 98SE. My problem is that I am unable to match photographs on screen with my printer. My new monitor is an LG flatron 17" and my printer, from my old system is an Epson colour 740. When used with my old monitor(Hansol 900P) the results obtained were excellent but for some reason, probably down to my lack of knowledge I am unable to get a satisfactory print using my new system. I am currently using Photoshop Elements 2.0 I have gone through the Adobe Gamma set up and created an ICC profile which slightly improved the end result.I have set up my printer according to the Color Management procedure. If I set this to print "Same as Scource" the resulting print is hardly visible. Using the "perceptual"& AdobeRGB(1998) set up slighly improves the print but it is still not acceptable. I have tried using the quick fix setting in the programme where the resuling image on screen is almost too dark to see but the print is still pale and washed out. I think that I can recall some time ago a discussion about a similar problem on this Forum but have been unable to locate it. After laying out a fair bit of monry for the new system I am reluctant to switch back to the older monitor. If the problem is just a printer incompatibility one I would be happy to upgrade. Can any of you wise people out there give me any advice as to how to get the good results that I should be getting. I have searched Adobe's files but could no... Read more

Answer:Colour Matching between TFT Monitor & Printer

I've just cured the same problem with my system using a system called DISC 1. Using this system you print off a course colour chart showing 30 pictures in variations of the grey scale. By picking out the picture that resembles the closest possible grey without any colour casts you can then adjust the colour balance of the programme you are using or on the printer, each picture gives you figures for the colours that require adjustment. For example the picture that resembled grey on my system suggested an increase of 5 yellow and 5 red. If you e-mail me I'll send you a demo.

I am involved in both photography and graphic arts and therefore need to be able to print both photographs and drawings with accurate colour rendition.

My current printer prints photographs with very accurate colours but prints drawings with very inaccurate colours.

Photographs. If I print a photograph the colours on the printed photograph are almost identical to the colours displayed on the computer monitor.

Drawings. If I print a drawing some of the colours (but not all) on the printed drawing are very different from the colours displayed on the computer monitor. In particular the colours in the Red to Yellow spectrum are substantially different. Green is also affected, with certain shades of Green being identical to the computer monitor and other shades of Green being a completely different colour.

I don't think that this problem is related to the graphics software. I can edit photographs and create drawings using the same software. I can save both types to JPEG files and can therefore print either directly from the graphics software or from any utility that can print JPEG files. The results are always the same - perfect colour photographs, very poor colour drawings.

I would like to get the colour rendition correct for drawings but do not want to interfere with the colour rendition for photographs - therefore changing the Colour Management on the printer does not seem to be a practical option.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions as to how this problem can be ... Read more

I aquired an HP 5552 colour printer during the summer for a really silly price (39.99). It's not something I use a lot - indeed mainly for the odd graph and for printing out CD labels and covers that I have designed.I was well aware that manufacturers churn out low-cost printers only to recoup their costs by considerably overcharging for consumables, i.e. inkjet cartidges.Well, I've just discovered the cost. HP want me to remortgage my house simple to buy a colour cartridge.I am aware that there are refill kits available n the shops and over the internet, but have been unable to source such a kit in the UK.Does anyone have any experience with refilling HP cartridges (how often can it be done, for example) or wher I can get hold of decent quality ink and instructions on where to drill holes etc etc?Any help will be positively welcomed.

I'm trying to fix a printing problem with an OKI colour laser printer that has now spread to two printers.

On the first printer, the blue is misaligned with the rest of the colours. Replacing the cartridges, re-seating the cartidges and re-installing drivers has not helped.

Moving cartridges between the two identical printers to narrow down the offending component has led to the yellow now being out of alignment on the other printer.

Re-installing drivers has modified the alignment a little, but not fixed it.

Anybody have any experience with fixing this sort of problem?

I had a laser jet printer for many years and got sick of it as it was costing a fortune in ink even though I was hardly using it. The problem I was having was cartridges getting blocked and by time they had been cleaned the ink was running out. Even though I wasn't using it for colour printing it was still costing me on colour cartridges as they needed to be replaced in order for the printer to work.

In the end I was advised that a mono laser printer would be the best option as they use toner instead of ink and as a result they don't suffer from the same problems that inkjet printers do, and as a result the are much cheaper. I have been very happy with my Samsung mono laser printer which I bought for ?30 of amazon, and never at any point suffered from the problem of the print heads needing to be cleaned before I could print.

I am now looking at buying a colour laser printer and would just like a heads up on whether the same is true for colour laser printers that because they use toner the print heads don't need cleaning and you can then not print in either black and white or colour for many months and still not have the problems and costs that you get with inkjet printers.

Please can anyone help, I have changed the colour cartridge on my Lexmark p6350 printer, but a message on the screen keeps telling me the colour cartridge is missing. I have taken both black and colour out and cleaned the cartridges and trays, and returned them to the printer, disconnected and reconnected usb and power cables, restarted my computer but no good. It reconises the black but not the colour. Any help would be most appreciated.

Answer:Printer will not reconise colour cartridge.

I had this problem on an HP recently. I found the circuitry in the color cartridge slot was damaged. A wire clip that helped hold the cartridge in place had slipped and dug into the printed circuit.

I have twoo printers attached to my computer, an Epson Stylus 700 and an Epson Stylus 1160. The 1160 does not get used a lot. When I had to replace the black ink cartridge it would not print out although the colour one would. I have tried using the head cleaning facility several times but this has not cured the problem. In fact the ink indicator shows that I have used half of the black ink cartridge in cleaning! Is there anyway I can fix this problem myself? By dismantling the machine or anything else? I have sent Epson Customer Services a couple of E-mails on the subject but have not received a reply. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Epson 1160 Stylus Colour Printer

I had the same problem (but with a 760). Thats the main problem with Epsons, that the heads don't come as part of the ink cartridge. You could try head cleaning solution (approx 10 for a colour and a black) from any inkjet site. Basically they are cartidges but with cleaning solution. I tried these and they didn't do anything at all. In the end, I was using soo much ink trying to fix the problem, I ended up buying a new printer (SP830)I don't know if this helps really

Hi,We're a small office services team with 6-8 people typically in the office.I've calculated that we're printing in the region of about 3000 A4 prints per month, and a rough estimate that we are spending about 3200-3500 per year on consumables for the printer (including toner, drums, fuser, transfer belts and paper). We're currently using an OKI MFP 3520 multi-function printer which seems to go through drums, fuser, transfer belts and toner like there's no tomorrow. At what kind of volumes does it become financially viable to have an all-in-one cost-per-print type contract? We want a nice, fast printer with low consumables costs (doesn't everyone?)All advice appreciated.

This is my first post on this forum and hope someone can help me.

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1764 last Thursday and it is running Win 7 home Premium 64bit.

A Lexmark C500 colour laser printer is hooked up to my old Dell Inspiron 6400 running XP 2005 media edition SP3.

I tried installing the printer on my new laptop through the "Add Printer" option but the printer driver for the C500 was not listed. I tried installing a driver from the CD I got with the printer but it returned a message advising was wrong OS. I then called Lexmark and was advised the C500 is not supported any longer.

Is there a driver for my printer I can install (read there is a driver for Vista 64bit) so that I don't have to go and purchase a new printer.

Im sorry to tell you pcastric, but lexmark's website shows only a 32bit Vista driver. You may want to try it just in case... as many vista drivers work under Win7. The issue here may be the 64 vs 32 bit.

My HP 959C is now nine years old. It has been a good workhorse but I found this morning that it will not now print in blue. I have three spare colour cartridges and changing the cartridge has had no effect. I have cleaned the contacts and also tried to print from another PC with the same result. Two questions1) Any thoughts on corrective action?2) What recommendations are there for a replacement printer? I have also a dedicated photo printer and a separate Canon scanner. I am not averse to a combined scanner/printer unit.

Answer:HP 959C printer not printing blue colour?

This is a 'Thermal ink jet' with the 'heads' in cartridge so swapping these around would rule out a simple cart failure. Trying on another PC rules out data corruption seeminglySo the safe assumption is the printer has had its time.Which to buy?Well if you are used to the peculiarities of HP look in that direction. As you have a dedicated photo printer and a separate scanner- perhaps a cheap general purpose printer will serve.THe world is your oyster constrained only by depth of your purse.Allinones can be finicky to use and if the printer goes down you lose also the scannerI have currently 3 such each a different brand that have discarded as broken by others - in each case I have got them going- and actually use them as a 'Swap-out' service among my 'Flock'

I acquired the Epson Printer quite some time ago and use it mainly for newsletters and correspondence for a Residents Association. It has worked very well until recently but now the cyan cartridge is not working properly. When I print a test pattern all colours including black print evenly except the cyan which has many "missing" segments in the printed pattern. The instruction book says clean the nozzles through 'Utilities' but many attempts at doing this has shown no improvement. It looks as if some of the cyan nozzles may be really blocked and I wonder if there is anything I can do to clean them. Incidentally I have tried a brand new Epson Cartridge and made sure the paper is correct etc. I do not want to have to send this printer for repair unless it is absolutely necessary (I can't see how to get to the printer heads myself) because it would probably cost an arm and a leg to have it stripped and cleaned. On the other hand I have new cartridges which I have just spent about 90 on!

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Fuji-Xerox C525a Colour Laser Printer and have had problems making adjustments on the printer preferences screen. It's not that I can't make adjustments, rather that I can't read what the screen says. All of the text is in blocks and vertical lines. Clicking the help button on the bottom right brings up a message saying:

I am running a Pentium 4, 3.2ghz, 1 gig ram, windows XP.
The printer prints just great, but I would like to be able to make adjustments for print quality etc.
I have attached a screenshot of what i mean.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
