Can't send email from my address book in OE

Question: Can't send email from my address book in OE

A problem has occured in my Outlook Express after a reformat. Whenever I go into the Address Book to send an email and click on 'Send Mail' I get this message: Address Book - Main IdentityThe Address Book could not identify an e-mail client that it could invoke. The Address Book uses the simple MAPI protocol to send email. If your e-mail client provides an opton to let it handle simple MAPI calls, then turn on this option from the e-mail client and try again. I don't know what this means and would be glad of some advice to sort out my problem

Preferred Solution: Can't send email from my address book in OE

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Can't send email from my address book in OE

Click Start, point to Find, click Files or Folders type mapi32.dll, right-click the file and then click Properties. Check to see if the Read-Only check box is selected. If it is, untick it.Next go to run and type Fixmapi.exe and hit enter. If this fails then go to the windows\sendto folder you should have a zero byte file named Mail> Recipient.MAPIMail do you? if not you will have to add this file.Open the reg and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.MAPIMail is it there and what is the value? If you don't want to write a reg file the you could try downloading the mapistub.dll from click here and save it ti windows/system.Chris

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4Is there a DWORD named UseOutlook and is its value set to 1?If so, you have Address Book configured to share contacts with Outlook, evenif you don't use it (can happen with the install of Office). Change thevalue to 0 (zero).

I use Outlook Express 6.
I just opened my address book after a few weeks of not looking at it, and it seems every email I've sent and/or received has been added to the address book. WHats up with that? I only want friends, family, etc.in the book, not the random emails I send for other reasons. How can I prevent this from happenening?

I have been unable to insert an address from my Yahoo email address book for some time now and I have decided to ask for help.

All I am doing is opening Yahoo mail and trying to compose a new email to send to someone who is already in my contacts. When I click "to:" or "insert address" my address book shows up. But when I place a check mark and try to "insert checked contacts" I go to this address on a blank page: http://us.mc1612.mail.yahoo.com/mc/kioskHandler

I see that this has been asked before but no one had replied and I can't find the answer doing a search.

Can anyone help?

I have Vista Home Premium 32 using Firefox. The version is the latest version of Firefox but this has happened in many previous versions of Firefox. (I was lazy [or in a hurry] and just typed in the address of the entity to which I was communicating as a work around.)

Thanks

Answer:Solved: Yahoo email unable to insert address from address book

Concerning my post above: I turned on my older XP computer and I had no problem with inserting an address from the Yahoo! address book.

I compared all my settings in both computers and noticed that I had different settings relating to how pop-ups are handled. XP reminded me that the address book takes the form of a pop-up. On my Vista I had pop-ups opening up (?) in a webpage. That is the page which came up blank. After I have corrected the settings, I no longer have a problem.

I am using Outlook 2003 and run Windows XP.

When I create a new message I begin typing the name of the recipient and I would like it to match up with an address I have in my Outlook contact list. However, it does not read from there. It only seems to look at addresses that I have already sent to in the past. How can I get it to read from the address book? If I click on "TO" or "CC" it brings up another window with a list of addresses from my contact list. From there I can have it pull from the list. I would like to be able to do it withot the extra step.

Thanks!

Answer:Solved: Outlook 2003 dowes not automatically pull address from address book for email

That is how autocomplete works, from used addresses stored in the NK2 file.
This explanation and keyboard shortcut might help you.
Where do Outlook's auto-complete suggestions come from?

Answer:Can I send mail to everyone in my address book

create a gruop, give it a name and put all the addresses in that you wish, then create mail and the 'to' address bar should have your group name, that way all you wish will be mailed at once.johnny

Hello Wizards,My friend's internet provider is AOL and she uses an AOL e-mail address. Someone has obviously got access to her e-mail contacts and is sending e-mails to them without her knowledge. Is there a simple way to stop this?

Answer:SOMEONE USING E-MAIL ADDRESS BOOK TO SEND E-MAILS

It sounds as if some malware has got onto her PC. Does she have a firewall and antivirus and most importantly does she keep them up to date and scan her PC with the antivirus regularly?

Hi guys,

'Boopme' had me run MiniToolBox and he wrote that he found "errors and other issues" and he bumped me to this thread.

Norton now seems to be removed and the restart was successful w/ out a restore.

This is what I wrote in under the from "Am I infected?" thread;

Been having problems with my laptop running Vista Home premium svc pack2.
One day, a month ago, Norton was not updating properly. Upon the next boot-up windows would not start and I was forced to restart in safe mode with a system restore. This was successful but Norton Security Suite was still not updating properly.
Since then, on a few occasions, I have attempted to uninstall Norton without success thru the program uninstaler. Norton is unresponsive. I even got the Norton rep. to do a remote deletion of all registry files of Norton. But they all returned after the reboot of my PC because windows would not open and I had to start-up thru system restore.
Since then my yahoo email been hacked and spam sent to the contacts of my address book.
I know I got something but I don't know what.. Can anyone take a stab at what I might need to do?
Thanks,
Brian

My Great-Uncle has Windows 98se. He uses the newest Netscape and recently clean out his inbox using the Netscape email program. For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

Thanks.

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

When I got BellSouth DSL years ago I had Outlook email account set up with BellSouth as outgoing and old domain as incoming so I could keep my email address from another domain. It worked fine until a year or so ago I had to add another account just for BellSouth and that worked fine.

Within last few weeks emails from my email address (old domain) would not send. I've been through it with ATT tech several times to no avail.

It seems that ATT has trapped me out and does not want me to be able to keep my old email.

There's bound to be a way to set up my email accounts so my outgoing email from my other ISP provider will send through BellSouth without changing my very old and reliable email address.

Also, I recently have acquired my own domain name and I fear emails from that email address will suffer the same fate.

I hope this is not too long, but PLEASE HELP if you can.

Answer:Can't send email using different domain in email address BellSouth trapped me out...

If your BellSouth e-mail service is provided by Yahoo, then you probably need to go through a registration and authentication process for each e-mail address you want to send through a non BellSouth/Yahoo mail server. At least that is what I had to go through as an SBC/ATT DSL customer. They claim that they do the blocking to prevent from originating from users within their network.

Question: Email Address Book

It appears that my address book was 'hacked" last night. Emails were sent from my address to all of the contacts on the list. The email had no subject and simply included a link. I have alerted the entire contact list and suggested they not click on the link and delete the message. Many have responded with thanks.

Thus far I have run a Norton scan with only five cookies detected and no viruses. I have also downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-malware and run both a quick scan and a full scan. No issues were found. What should be my next step?

I moved your thread, as this does not appear to be an OS issue. To get help you'll probably need to specify your email client; or if using web mail specify the browser(s) and your mail provider.

I got several comments from people in my address book asking if I mean to send them an email. the only thing it had in the body of the message was this:

What is your take on this? I have AVG and it's found no viruses. What else can I do do investigate this?
Thanks!

This evening I found a large number of rejected emails which appeared to have been sent by my main Yahoo email account to various names in my address book there were also some addressed to my other emails accounts which are also listed in my Thunderbird address book.
I have run "House Call" which reports "no threats", I also ran "spybot" after updating it and it reported the following "adviva", "Casalemedia", "Doubleclick", "Flastclick", MediaPlex", "statcounter" and "Web Trends Live" They all appear to have come in via Chrome. (17 in all).
I do not usually use Chrome, but this after noon I thought I would give it a try, my prefered browser is Firefox 18.02
Is there a real problem with Chrome and what do you think has caused my email problems?
I am using Windows 7, fully updated, along with ZoneAlarm (Free)ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall version: 11.0.000.038
Vsmon version: 11.0.000.038
Driver version: 11.0.000.026
Antivirus engine version: 8.2.11.97
Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1111911520
Web Identity Protections version: 1.5.393.22
My next move is to run a ZoneAlarm Scan.
Is there anything else I can do to protect my PC

Hi guys, my sis wants to know if she can block e-mails from anyone who is not in her address book. I thought it was possible but have been unable to find the solution (yet) but she only asked me an hour ago and I was busy at the time, so I thought where better to find the solution (if there is one)than here.
She is using Windows Xp and as it was preloaded on her machine I would say she has Outlook Express V.5 or above. Sorry can't say which version of outlook Express she has as she had to go out so I couldn't interrogate her anymore.

Help me out guys please, I'm the older brother so I have to know all (if you know what I mean) so I can get some peace.

ProblemYAHOO address book pops "up" beneath the current window, when I click on "To:", while writing mail. I then have to click on its icon on the bottom bar to use it.BackgroundI've been using YAHOO for years. The address book has always popped up on top -- which makes perfect sense. The only reason to call it is to use it. Of course, you have to see it to use it.I just switched to IE 7 and have had trouble getting my pop-up management back where it should be. I reset settings in Pop-up Blocker (yes, I found that) ... then thought my google bar installation (also blocks pop-ups) might have been screwed up when IE 7 was installed (I didn't have to reinstall Google tool bar). But well .... kind of looks like maybe rebooting after resetting Pop-up Blocker did the trick for many of my problems; Right now except for one that I know of.

Answer:Yahoo Email Address Book Ie 7

I'm pretty sure that this is one of those things that is really easy if you know what the trick is. I think I fixed it once before, a few years ago. I simply set something somewhere or something. But I don't remember exactly.

I remember finding the answer using a google search. I got lucky and found it on the first page. All attempts to do the same thing this time have failed.

I had to format Xp last night after a virus, fortunately I managed to save my address book first. Unfortunately, I highlighted all contacts and copied/pasted them onto a blank word doc. Now I can open the word doc but I cannot export or open the contact info, there are something called vcf files. Does anyone know how to open these or any other programsto use? A lot of my contacts I can only get to through email. MANY THANKS

Answer:email probs / address book

Regret to say this is the wrong way to save your contacts. You should have used the export facility in "Outlook" or "Outlook Express" to save you contacts to a file and not cut and paste as you've done. I don't know of any way you can now import your contacts from the file you've just created. Sorry.

I have two computers one with XP and the other with Windows 7 and run Explorer 8 on both and have this same problem with both and I login with administrator rights. I?m almost sure that it is an Explorer setting problem that changed due to Microsoft updates in the last month or so, I didn?t have this problem previously.

I use gmail as my email service and when I "compose a message" and click the to: link it does not open my contact list (address book). If I go to Explorer/tools/internet options/advanced/reset and reset to Explorer defaults and then restart Explorer my contact list will then open. The problem is solved until the PC?s are shut down and then powered on again the next day and have to go through the same process again.

I received an email from my daughter today which was clearly spam. She has also received a range of "message no sent" or similar which relate to old email addresses that are no longer used by her contacts. This has all the look of a compromised email address book which has been harvested or perhaps even her machine "controlled" from elsewhere. I have no experience of this problem so any thoughts would be most welcome. She has a machine using XP, Comodo firewall and AVG free anti virus. She has used a POP email before but is currently using Hotmail. My initial thoughts are to ask her to run Superantispyware.

Answer:Email address book compromised?

Definately not good. Download and install Superantispyware and possible Spybot S&D as well. Make sure AVG is up to date with definitions. Uninstall Comodo firewall, reboot and re-install - I would have thought the firewall would have prevented any unusual behaviour but she may have inadvertantly allowed something out. Re-installing it should reset everything and she will need to allow things manually for a while. Disconnect from the internet and run AVG first, followed by each of the other solutions. It might also be an idea to run them in safe mode as well before reconnecting to the internet. If there are problems found and they appear in System Volume Information" there may be something lurking in a System Restore Point which means that every reboot of the computer it reinstalls itself. If this is suspected turn off system restore and run everything again. Reboot and turn on system restore and reboot again. Good Luck!

Just had a major computer crash, due to scam program called Security Tool. I had to have a professional to get rid of it,for which I was grateful. However, for them to backup existing computer, they had to format several of my drives. I have,as you can imagine, lost a good deal of my programs, settings, etc, which I can, I hope, replace. Main difficulty is that I have lost all my email contact addresses. Does anyone have an idea about how to retrieve them? I did manage to archive a lot of in-box emails through gmail, and if no-one has a brilliant idea, I will just have to go through ALL of them and pick out the addresses. Also, I can't find a way to recover any sent emailsAny advice?

I am helping a friend with their computer mess. The husband uses Windows Live as his email client and the wife uses direct Road Runner.

They both use the same computer. When the husband tries to send email to his wife's email acct, she never receives it. Yet he can send emails to me and I am a Road Runner email address. So I know that his Windows Live is set up correctly.

His wife's email is working fine directly through Road Runner as she can send and receive emails.

SO... Seems to me the issue has something to do with using the same computer and he never signs out of Windows Live. (I personally use Outlook as I am a business and am not familiar with Windows Live)

He never gets any kind of Undeliverable mail message or anything.

Can anyone help me here. I'm am do back over to continue cleaning up some other issues with his system. And I'm not sure where to go from here.

Thank you in advance.

In our village in Spain, we have a very dodgy wireless internet access system, run by a company called NijarNet that is very difficult to communicate with - partly a language problem and partly because their customer service is dreadful. I have 13 clients with accounts here (I'm a management agent), and I manage these for them - they are all either wifi or wimax which pick up the signal from various antennae in the area. One such client was having no problem until something called Spamcop blocked his emails. Since then, he is unable to send emails from his 02 account, although he can send from his gmail account with no problem. He can receive on both accounts. O2 says it's not their problem, but that I must talk to the provider (which I have tried to do but they deny it's their problem and can't/won't give any advice on what the problem might be). I reckon it's something fairly simple that I might be able to sort myself, maybe a setting on the router? Can you offer any advice? He's tried it on several different laptops, devices etc with no luck. Any advice would be gratefully received.

How do I import a text file containing email addresses into my address book. They are all seperated by commas and they are just email addresses, nothing else.If I use the import function - other address book - text file (comma seperated values)will this import them as seperate email addresses into the address book, or will it mistake the comma seperation as different fields for the same address book entry? If so, do i just replace the commas with new line breaks to get around this? (ie does a new line represent a new entry, and a comma a new field (name, address etc) or will it recognise commas as new entries ? )

Answer:How to Import AOL email and address book into Outlook

Hi JMT74

See if AOL has the option to Export the Address Book as a .csv (comma separated values) file.
The .csv file can then be Imported into the Outlook Contact folder.

To determine the version of Outlook you are using:
Help > About Microsoft Office Outlook will show you the version.

My hard drive crashed and I have lost a bunch of email and address book contacts that were not backed up. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Quad-core machine with 8G of RAM. I find it very annoying that Scype has suddenly synced my address book with scype. I couldn't find anything on the Scype site that told me how to unsync my addresss book from Scype. In a Scype forum, there were instructions to go to Scype general preferences and untick the box but I can't find Scype general preferences. I am using XP.

My hard drive crashed and I have lost a bunch of email and address book contacts that were not backed up. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Quad-core machine with 8G of RAM. I am running Microsoft Office 2003 and I need to retrieve my email and contacts from Outlook. My hard drive is not completely dead. I can try to boot from it, however, it immediately goes into Repair System mode. I have tried numerous times to do a System Restore, but it never succeeds. I continually get the message that "Windows cannot repair this disk automatically". I have tried to boot from the DVD and repair the damaged files, but it just goes into the same Repair System mode, and I get the same message. I also received the following- Problem Signature: Problem Event Name: StartupRepairOffline Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385 " 02: 6.1.7600.16385 " 03: unknown " 04: 21200766 " 05: AutoFailover " 06: 25 " 07: NoBootFailure OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 I also ran chkdsk /R from the command prompt, but it did not fix any boot problems. I can, however, connect the hard drive as a second drive in the unit (after installing Windows 7 Ultimate on another hard drive) and connect to it and read the data on the drive. I have been able to retrieve all of my data (files, pictures, music, videos, etc.) except for the Outlook data. When I click on Outlook on the damaged drive, I get a message about installing the program. Of course, the program is already installed- I just want to access... Read more

Last night I sent a message out to one of the Group lists I have set up in Outlook Express. It was a message intended for that one group, but apparently everyone in my Address Book rcvd. the message. I realized this when I started getting failed delivery messages from some addresses not on the intended list.

They came back in pairs from each failed delivery.

I have the 2004 edition of Norton AntiVirus on my computer so I hope a virus did not cause the problem. Another mystery is I received two emails at my work address with the two different subject lines that I had delivered the email with (I only sent one email to my office).

So somehow everyone on my Address book got a message that I only sent to rcpnts. of the one list. Anyone have any ideas how?

My computer had a fault. and when it was returned to me,it had lost my old email address and I have had to make a new one.So now nobody can get in touch with me,and all my email buddies are lost.

Answer:can i retrieve my old email address book back

So long as you know your old email identity, password and settings (can be found from your ISP), then you should be able to go into your email client (outlook, outlook express or whatever you are using) and set up your old account again. The sort of information (minimum) you typically need to have is: Display Name : <Your name> E-mail address : <your old email address> incoming mail(POP3) : <get this from your ISP - It may be on their support pages> outgoing mail(SMTP) : <get this from your ISP - It may be on their support pages> Account Name : <your email account id> Password : <If you do not know this you may be able to get your ISP to reset it>Your email buddies (contacts) are probably lost unless you were using webmail in which case it may still be there in your ISPs mail server.___________________________________________? Hi all !! , any one discovereed how to prepare a handy list from "Address Book " of just names and Email addresses ??(for PC--not Mac) ta!,Redlegs.

Answer:Print Email addresses only from Address Book

If you select File> Export> Email address (Contacts in Vista) and select CSV (comma separated values) and save it to somewhere you'll find easily. The resulting file is an Excel file and can be printed/manipulated/sorted as required.I have a copy on a web based email service (Hotmail) because the list is then accessible from any net connected PC. Remember to take a printout when on holiday.Hope that helps.

Hi, I'm planning on changing ISP very soon and will want to let everyone in my address book know of the change of email account that will ensue. I can't find any way of sending a mass email out, without it including the email address of everyone. Does any way exist to do this? It's not that I don't trust anyone in my address book but I don't like the thought of sending email addresses out for all to see like that.Anything I can do?

Answer:Email entire address book safely?

Send it to yourself with everybody else in the bcc: field. To show the bcc: field in Outlook Express View > All headers when composing the message.

Some time ago I had to reformat, reinstall and setup a computer for a friend. He had about 950 email addresses that he didn't want to type in again one at a time. I saved the .wab to a floppy disk and, when everything was working again I copied the .wab to the relevant folder (Win 98SE). Everything is now working fine, all his email addresses are there. Now, I have just had to do the same thing to someone else's computer (again Win 98SE) but this time there are no email addresses whatsoever in OE when trying to send an email. I still have the .wab file on floppy so how do I get OE to recognise it please?

Answer:Saving email address book to restore later

Only a suggestion...1. Open OE & key-in details of one contact in the address book. 2. Then note the name of the (newly created) .wab file in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\. 3. Rename your SAVED .wab file to MATCH the (newly created) .wab file4. Replace the (newly created) .wab file with the saved one.

Long story short.

Customers OS (Win Xp Pro) desided to go for a walk thanks to a faulty motherboard. I was able to recover all the data from the computer by copying it over to another harddrive. Currently all of the customer's C drive is sitting on another computer.

HOW EVER, I need to restore OUTLOOK XP. Where abouts in WIN XP is the files that contain the Inbox (Must), Address Book (Must), and Sent Items (No Nessary, But Would Be Nice) files.

And how do I go about restoring them???
I normally export/import to and from a PST file with outlook, but that was not option with this computer.

Please help me some one.

Need to get this fix up by close of business tomorrow. (24 hours)

Answer:[OUTLOOK XP] - Need to recover email and address book

i am pretty sure if you just reinstall outlook the inbox, contacts, ect will remain intact so you can export them to a file. you might want to save an image of the partition just in case. this might help too:

Hello,I am having a problem with my email not working correctly. I can receive email but when I try to create a new email and click on my address book the mouse icon disappears off to the right hand side of the screen. The program appears unresponsive as I am unable to select any tool bar icons (shows no indication that I clicked on anything) nor am I able to close the untitled message screen or minimize it. I have opened task manager and selected end task :untitled message. When that task ends it switches back to the inbox screen with a : Select Names window in the task bar. At this point the Inbox screen is still unresponsive but now I can right click the : Select Names window in the task bar and close it. When that closes then the Inbox screen seems to restore control. I have updated Microsoft Office to service pack 3 ( after this situation presented itself). The O.S. is X.P. Pro Microsoft Outlook 2003 This system has been running problem free for about 1 year. If anyone could help in solving this issue I would greatly appreciate it.Thank You.~Mod Edit: Topic moved to more appropriate forum~ TMacK

Answer:Outlook 2003 Address Book/new Email Problem

Hello to all,

I have resolved my issue with address book. It appears that my address book was opening up off screen on the right hand side. I am not sure what had changed in regards to why it had opened off screen or why it now has restored to the middle of the screen. The only thing that I had done recently was to send an email to a friend and typed in the email address then clicked send. After that when I tried to create a new email and select the address book it would open the window in view.

Basically I'm a moron but had to post the resolution to my problem anyways.
PROBLEM SOLVED.

When I compose a new email, I see "Ed Wiens" TWICE; once is his current addy and once for his old addy. I need to delete the old one but it won't show in the Contacts to be deleted.

How can this happen and how can I delete the old one, please?

Everyone in my address book (gmail) has been sent an email (apparently) from me entitled "Re: Good Morning" which includes the text:

i've sent you the details of the Document
and a link titled "View PDF". This link shows the Google Drive banner and requests email address, phone number. and password.

Looking at my Gmail sent folder, I see no such outgoing email. I don't know how this happened. My concern is that rogue software on my PC either sent out the phishing emails or grabbed my Gmail credentials.

I have run CCleaner, RogueKiller, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, TDSSKiller, HitmanPro, and MGtools according to the instructions on this site.

I have attached the log files to this post.

Not familiar with Eudora, but most email clients import and export with the .csv format. You should be able to open your address book and save the file(s) as "something.csv", then import that file into the other program.

There is a program at work where I need to send an SMS to an email address. It responds with a code. This apparently works on Android and iOS. There doensn't appear to be any place to set an email gateway in the SMS settings.
Is there a syntax in the SMS address that would allow me to send the message (like 36345:[email protected]) ?Any work aorund?

Answer:How can you send an SMS to an email address?

Okay, I'm going to tell you. This is possible, but must be supported by your Wireless Carrier. It is not dependent on what type of phone or phone OS you have. It took some researching to learn this for you, which is why it took me a while.
Simply enter the email address as the recipient, instead of a phone number. That's all there is to it. Not all carriers support it, but I just tested it with my AT&T account and it works fine. Most major carriers support this.
When the email is received on the other end, it will have an email address that your wireless carrier has assigned to your mobile number. If you send it to your own email, you'll discover that, and be able to give that email to others in order to text you as well.
First, I recommend testing it by sending yourself an email from your phone's SMS. Good luck!

When multiple accounts are added on Outlook 2010 and you create a new email, autocomplete in the 'to' field shows suggestions from every account. Is it possible to only show suggestions relevant to the account the email is being sent from.

For example, if I had my personal account and a customer services account, when I go to send an email from my personal account, every email address who has ever communicated with the customer services account shows which is quite risky.

Thanks, Louise

This morning my msn email account had letters from family letting me know that my msn address has been sending emails from my account that contain malicious links. When that family member clicked on the link it started downloading and could not be stopped until she used control/alt/delete to shut off the computer.

Yesterday I had just opened an email account with Gmail and imported my address book. Is this related? Or maybe, is this problem tied to when the gaming system PS3 had its data hacked a few months back--personal data areas were hacked that included email, credit cards, and passwords, etc.? Either way, I need to find where the problem is and fix it.

I went to MSN Live solutions center, downloaded and ran their recommended tool to locate problems--a quick scan found nothing. I am running Nortons Antivirus that came with my Qwest MSN account. My main computer is running XP Media edition, 32 bit, with service pack 3.

Please help me locate the trouble and fix this. I have sent a warning email to my whole address book from my new Gmail account to hopefully prevent others from getting this.

Answer:MSN email address book hacked, sending malicious links

Update--so far MSN says it sounds like a virus, but nothing was found. We reset the computer to an earlier date, about 8 days earlier, and then Norton's wouldn't run. It had 3 error codes; 3043,1 3040,20011 and 3040,20063. Nortons Fix it didn't work on these codes and after following their recomendations, it still didn't work. Finally uninstalled Nortons and reinstalled. Ran quick scan, found 8 small problems and it fixed those. Ran again as full scan, found 4 more concerns and automatically repaired those as well.

Ran Microsoft Safety Scanner for full scan- nothing found. Ran SpyBot search and destroy--nothing found.

Talked to Qwest, because they were the number Norton's sent me too (Qwest provides my DSL). Qwest took the info and looked at my email account. They noticed the virus links all end in /world.html and many have more in common like modules/Search/world.html Qwest is looking into that, but who knows if they will find where this started? Qwest did say that copies of email sent from my MSN account were being sent to another account, my husband's email. We checked his account- non of my emails are there, except the spam email with the virus link.

This makes me worry--is someone intercepting my email? Maybe I didn't understand. My husband's email is on my account as an alternate in case something happens.
I have not had a chance to contact Gmail yet. It seems like more than a little bit of a coincindence that my ... Read more

Answer:is there an app to send a video to an email address?

Yes, there is a way but that depends on what OS version your Windows Phone is running.
In Windows 10 Mobile, the default Outlook Mail is capable of sending videos through email - just make sure that the video size doesn't exceed 25MB.

Answer:Send Email from hidden address

Set up a new Account in Outlook, basically identical to your existing Account but with the different email address and, if you want, a different name for yourself (e.g. Webmaster). When sending messages, you should then have the option to select which Account the message will be sent from.

Hi there

any decent programmers out there who can generate a script for me that does the following :

1) Get my IP address
2) send an email say every 30 mins (or user settable) to a FIXED email address - or even a text to a mobile phone.

The reason I want this is that services like no-Ip are going "PAY FOR" or you get some silly restrictions on the free stuff like re-register every few days or the IP address detection program runs every minute which is a nonsense --with Fibre connections to your ISP the IP address doesn't change much (if at all) while you are connected to the Internet - but only at boot.

That way I can access my home computer without needing to get a commercial domain etc -- on the LOCAL LAN the server has a fixed IP address so port forwarding isn't a problem for using things like RDP.

Please don't suggest TEAMVIEWER -- don't want or need it. My upload speed on ISP is perfectly good enough for me to be independent of this type of service.

Even if you run say an apache (LAMP / WAMP) server you will get access to it easily enough via its IP address of you know it.

Surprised some of the experienced coders out there haven't done this type of thing.
