Preferred Solution: App for changing eye colour

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Question: Colour changing

I can't believe what happened to me. I was downloading and my system just hung. All of a sudden my colour scheme changed altogeter. In Display I now have only about 6 colours available. How did this happen and what can I do about it. All my efforts to return to my previous setup was to no avail. Btw how can I return to a start-up 5 hours ago.?ThansDawieWhen was the last time you did something for the first time?

Answer:Colour changing

In Windows XP there's a feature called Windows System Restore, this will restore your OS to a state previously saved by either you or Microsoft Windows.Follow these instructions to restore:1. Start Menu > Run2. Type or paste in.. %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe ..then press enter3. You should be on the System Restore program, proceed to the option labled "Restore my computer to an earlier time"4. Chose the appropriate restore point and continueOnce you've finished, it's VERY important you run a virus scan on every HDD, and make sure you use updated Anti-Virus software. AVG with the latest upgrades would suffice. If you perform the scan from Safe Mode, you'll have a higher chance of catching and removing a possible infection. In future, whenever you have downloaded something, I reccomend you scan whatever it is. Also, make sure your Anti-Virus software is updated.Best of luck....It is simply phsychological analysis consisting mostly of theories I myself have to decypher and deter their respective plausibility...

Question: changing colour

hiI would like to know if you can manually change the colour of the taskbar and the active window boxes etc in display properties box.when i right click on the desktop and go in appearance i have only got blue, silver and olive green. this is on xp home tho.can i alter it myself or do i have to download and pay for packages to do it. I have tried to do it myself but to no avail.in advance i can alter the active/inactive title boxes but then the colour only changes as the box does then goes back to the original setting or blue/silver or green.hope i made some sense!!!!

Answer:changing colour

The appearance of Windows can be changed very easily by the user.1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Display2. When the Display box opens click on either "Themes" or "Appearance"3. Modify as necessaryTip : Before making any changes make a note of the current settings so that you can go back to them if you don't like the changes that you have made.

As standard when you download something, the pop-up box is gray and the status bar is blue.

Is there any way that the colour scheme etc can be changed to your own preference ?

Also, can similar be done for a website that has a particular colour scheme (My new site will be in colours of black (#000000) and green (#009900) ? ? ? ?

Answer:changing colour of download box etc

My progress bars, download bars, and title areas are the same color as my "Active Title Bar" = Red. The box itself is gray, though. All my programs that have progress-indicator functions are red, like when Norton scans emails, the bar is red, and its title area is also red. Everything uses that color when they do their things! When they load up, when they get updates, I can see any color I want. If I changed my "Active Title Bar" to light green, all my progress bars and title bars would be light green, etc.. .You can make it any color in the palette.

The "Active Title Bar" color setting is in Control Panel>Display>Appearance>Advanced>..click "Item">scroll up for "Active Title Bar" & highlight it = under the "Color One" and "Color Two" boxes, pick your color. (I pick the same color for both boxes, I think it looks better). There are some other things there that might change the gray but I don't know - things like "Application Background", "Messge Box" - ?

If you do this, be aware that the main thing it does is change the color the color of your Internet Explorer main title bar. But it will look neato! (And you can make your Inactive Title Bar a color too - mine is light purple.)

hi,
I have noticed over the last day or two that when I am browsing the internet the entire screen is changing coulours slightly.

As I am writing this now the white background on to which I am typing as is changing between white and a very pale blue hue a bit like the colour of the scrollbars on the forum only lighter.

Everything else on the screen is also changing from its original colour to this pale blue as well.

It is doing this every 1-2 seconds.

It does not do it on the windows screen and I have not tried playing a game so I don't know if games are effected.

Can anybody help please?

I am a beginner with computing
thanks

Answer:Screen changing colour

It's possible your browser has been hijacked and you are running a dodgy .css filke that can cause these symptoms, to check this out please
Go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

quote from 'net: "Windows Explorer has three colors for file names: blue for compressed files, green for encrypted files, and black for all others. The colors themselves cam be set in the registry. There is no other provision for setting the colors of filenames in Windows Explorer."
However, I found this http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/911382.htm scroll down to just over halfway down the page, it seems to say you have to buy third party software to get this function, or maybe there is some free software, try a google for it.

Answer:Changing colour of a photo

Guzeppi It is apparent that you are trying to learn how to use a photo manipulation software program as you are repeatedly coming to the CH forum with questions related to a very specific task you are trying to achieve. If i am not mistaken the software that you are trying to use is a version of Adobe Photo-shop. If that is so and because of your earlier stated problem with reading instructions in the English language i have a suggestion for you. I am providing a link to the Adobe Photo-shop software forum which i suggest you join and seek the assistance of the forum participants there. It is not that we here on the CH forums are unwilling to try and help you but it is a fact that numerically the number of CH forum members truly knowledgeable about that program will be small compared to the Photo-shop forum where the majority of the participants will be in a far better position to assist you than we are here. http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshoptruenorth

hi, I think I read that the LED's that shine on the sides and top of the Dell laptop can be changed to a different colour, any one know how to do it, can find nothing in the handbook..thanks

Answer:Dell, changing colour of LED's ??

I've never heard this before, it is possible I suppose as you can get LEDs that will display more than one colour but I would think they would be more expensive than standard LEDs and therefore any PC company looking to save costs would not use them unless really necessary.I realise this might seem like a strange thing to say as the difference is likely to be only a few pence but if you sell as many PCs as Dell then it would soon add up.I also think that changing the colours would not be that simple as the colours would have a particular function and as they are hard wired it probably couldn't be changed.Hopefully someone that has one of these machines can advise on to whether this is possible.Personally I would think not but perhaps you could tell us where you saw this info on changing the LED colours and this may give us somewhere to start.

I have a number of cells whre the font colour is changed by conditional formatting but these changes are not recognised when using vba. How can i resove this situation

Answer:changing font colour using vba

Your subject line doesn't seem to match the text in your post.Do you want to change the font color using VBA (subject line) or do you want to recognize the CF color using VBA (text in post)? If you want to recognize the font color set by CF, try something like this:MsgBox Cells(1, 1).DisplayFormat.Font.ColorIndexI don't know what you are trying to accomplish, but perhaps checking the value of the cells that the CF is applied to might be easier than checking the font color set by CF. When I wanted to change my desktop wallpaper and also the taskbar colour.
I click on the theme I want, then I see the taskbar not changing.
Then I click on Window Colour : http://i.imgur.com/u4FIU.png
Then I get this : http://i.imgur.com/TCYdt.png
But I should get this : http://www.google.com.sg/search?q=wi...dhgcn3Ueqq_1M:
Could anyone tell me the solution to fix this?

Thanks

Answer:Taskbar colour is not changing !

For you to get the "Window Color and Appearance" window that you show in google is to have Windows 7 selected in Aero themes (personalization window). You have "One Piece Theme" selected. This may be causing your issue.

See if you can change the taskbar color with "Windows 7" as your Aero theme. Then select "One Piece Theme" and see if the taskbar stays the color you changed it to.

When I open a program, regardless of what it is, my monitor tints everything slightly green. If I close or minimise everything the green tint disappears. It's not a problem at this point so much as a concern that my fairly recently purchased monitor might be dying. However, it's really strange that the green tint only appears when a window is open. Would it be fair to say that my monitor is dying, or could it be a software problem of some kind?

Answer:Monitor changing colour

Hello..

It is possible that the monitor is going bad, but I would check the video card driver first. You might want to update it.

If possible, check the monitor on a second system and see if it does it. I have seen it work both ways... One time the monitor was actually bad, but the other time, it was just the video card driver.

If you are using a custom theme you will need to ask the theme maker. It's not cool to change someone else work.

I would like to change the colour of text in a cell when the text changes based on the value in another cell. I am able to change the text in cell (in my case "A49") depending on the value in cell "H49" using the "IF" function. However, I would like the colour of the text to change to black in cell "A49"and if possible also the background colour to another specified colour. Have you tried Conditional Formatting with the following Rule? You use CSS code in the header of your web page.If you don't know CSS there are loads of generators online that will do a passable job for you and you just copy and paste the resulting code.Keep in mind that not all browsers will be able to see your colours though, since not all browsers support CSS scrollbar manipulation.click here

I have one column with a date which a task was done e.g. 12-12-2007, I have another column which needs to 'track' the progress, in this column i need the task coming up to the three year period 6- months to highlight green, then if the task is entering the 6+ months to highlight orange and if it is on the three year date (12-12-2010) it must be red signalling a reoccuring task must begin

Answer:formula for changing cell colour and working

Let's say your date (12/12/2007) is in E4.Select F41 - From the Ribbon select Home - Styles - Conditional Formatting, 2 - From the drop down select 'Manage Rules' and select 'New Rule'3 - In the dialog box select the last item in the list 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'4 - Enter the formulas below as a 3 separate Rules, clicking the format button then 'Fill' Tab and selecting a color for each Rule:=IF(TODAY()>$E$4+1095,TRUE,FALSE) Format with Red=IF(TODAY()-$E$4>182,TRUE,FALSE) Format as Green=IF(TODAY()-$E$4<182,TRUE,FALSE) Format as OrangeEach of these formula will use the TODAY() function (which always returns the current system date) to compare the current date to the date in E4.1095 is three years worth of "days" (3 * 365) so if "today" is greater than E4 + 3 years, the cell will turn Red.The other formulas use 182, which is approximately 6 months. Adjust as desired.

How do I change the colour settings on my X500/02G running Windows Home?

At present the colours are way too bright and saturated - similar to the way tvs are set up in stores.

I've changed the brightness to no effect. I've checked the NVIDIA software but its not controling the colours some other sofware is - which I cant find

Any ideas?

Answer:Changing colour settings on Qosmio X500/02G

Hi

How did you change the brightness? Normally therefore you can use the key combinations FN+F6 and FN+F7.

Furthermore the colors can be changed in driver options of your graphic card. Right click on the desktop and choose the display properties. In advanced options you can find it and the driver menu will appear.

I was wondering if it was possible to change the colour of the text under desktop icons from the default white to something else.

I have some cool NASCAR-related wallpapers from my drivers' sites, but if I try to use them, the writing becomes hard to see because the white of the text for the icons doesn't stand out at all.

Is it possible to make the shortcut text a different colour besides white? If so, how do I go about doing that?

Thanks!

So i have had this for only about an hour, but it is really bugging me. I have also read through other posts on this site and they haven't helped. I used a program which changed my colour scheme to basic. This wasn't the first time a program had done that, but when i closed the program it did not change back. I have tried turning off the computer and that sort of thing, but to no success. I also have right clicked desktop, gone to personalize and tried to change it from windows basic, but it did not work. The basic scheme has changed my windows, so when i hover over an icon in the taskbar, the box thing doesn't appear, has changed my taskbar colour to non-transparent and my log on screen (or the screen when you hit ctrl alt delete) to a different colour. Sorry i don't know much about computers, but i would love to get this fixed. thanks

I've been using windows classic over basic/aero due to streaming purposes (streaming with aero creates issues and I'm not a fan of basic), I like a darker/dark grey theme most of the time as it's easier on the eyes and the bright white windows classic taskbar is a bit of a pain, but I can't figure out a way to change it via personalize\windows colour or anything else.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated, I also can't find a darker/greyish classic theme anywhere, a pure black one would probably annoy me even more but just a darker grey like what I've done to my windows borner would be perfect, thanks!

Gidday all. This is my first visit to this forum, so please bear with me.
My problem is like this:
Firstly, this is what I did.
* I setup my desktop background picture and colour scheme by clicking on the desktop and selecting properties;
* I got into the area that allows one to choose the colours for the desktop, windows background etc (all those elementary things that were easy in the anceint versions of windows);
* I chose a custom colour version of "cyan" for my background and use black for the letters. I prefer this combination as it's easier on the eyes than a white background with black letters.
Secondly, I saved everything then selected apply.
So far so good. Works well for awhile. Then in the middle of working on something (even Word) I get the "PLEASE WAIT" window and everything defaults back to the original windows colour scheme. This problem occurs regardless of what application I use.
Has anyone got any suggestions, please? I contacted the tech help guys that set up my machine originally but they couldn't help.
Cheers

Answer:Changing appearance of display colour scheme

Hello and welcome to TSF.

A few suggestions to try out while others ponder the possible causes.

1. After making the changes go and right click on the desktop and under arrange icons , choose lock the desktop.

2. Control panel / display / settings/ troubleshooting
lower the hardware accelleration.

3. Right click my computer choose properties (or control panel => system) => advanced => performance => settings
Click adjust for best appearance.

Restart after you have made these changes so that they get hard recorded to the registry hive before anything else tries to use the old settings.

I cannot seem to be able to find the location of the colour of the windows explorer "frame" (below the titlebar and surrounding the address bar and back/forward buttons) when DWM is disabled, as indicated in the attached screenshot. Obviously the reason I want to change this is because the default colour doesn't match with the titlebar colour.

Before W10 I could go into the area now called 'Personalize' and after rummaging around I could find an 'Advanced' button that took me to a screen where I could use a colour palette to change the default background colour of documents and it would apply to Outlook, Excel, Word and others. I prefer a light blue to white. (In this area you could also choose to change the default colours for all different parts of the Windows display).

My options migrated ok when I moved from W7 to W10 but I somehow messed something up yesterday and now I've got white and can't find this W7 (and previous) background colour display change facility. Greetings,

First of all, I'm a complete noob at customizing, so please bear with me.

I've been searching for a way to change the Windows Explorer navigation (folder) pane background colour, the panel that (by default) can be found on the left and shows things like Favourites, Libraries etc. The default colour is white, and lately it has started to hurt my eyes more and faster than it did before. That's why I would like to change it to grey.
I've 'already' managed to do this for the reading pane by editing the shellstyle.dll file (C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero\Shell\NormalColor), but I cannot find any information on how to do this for the navigation pane. That is, I found some topics but most of the time the answers point towards downloading/buying a program that can do it, or needing to send some files to a helpful person who can change it him/herself, and by doing so probably avoid a lot of explaining, which of course I can understand. However, I would like to do this myself so that in the future I'll no longer have to rely on someone else to change that colour. Furthermore, I'm not interested in any other scheme than the standard Aero (yet...) so I would like to do this without downloading/buying any program (which I'll most likely never use again after I changed that one colour - but you never know, of course).

So, where can I find the code for the background colour? Can it be found in the shellstyle.dll file as well? Do I need to look somewhere else? It doesn... Read more

I'm trying to change the colour of my toolbar and the headers of other windows that I open. But when I type "change window glass colour" into the start menu I don't get the option to do that. I know that there must be an option to do this in Windows 7 because my laptop has the same OS and I have changed it several times on that. I have read in another thread that it might be to do with Windows Aero. But the troubleshooter is bringing up nothing and changing the Theme from "Basic" to "Aero" and back has no effect on being able to change the window glass colour.

I can send screenshots to any replies if that will help. Any replies greatly appreciated as this is bugging me.

Answer:Changing the "Window Glass Colour" in Windows 7 Home Premium

You need aero active to do what you want. Whether or not win7 aero works or not also has a lot to do with your video driver. You should check with the video card (or motherboard if applicable) manufacturer's website for the latest driver version that is applicable. Also try googling to see if there is a way to determine whether aero is active or not.

Here is one example

There is a corresponding service UxSms (Desktop Window Manager Session Manager- Provides Desktop Window Manager startup and maintenance services).

This starts a process dwm.exe. With this started, AERO is enabled (if stopped AERO is disabled). So basically if the process dwm.exe runs, AERO is enabled (read the comments, this means that AERO themes might, but not necessarily have be used. However, without DWM no AERO).Click to expand...

Hi there gurus.
My pc doesn?t show certain colour objects in Publisher 2007 and some on-line sites. Overall, the screen colour is very good. I know the fault is localised, because when I switch to Print Preview in Publisher it looks fine and I can see all the object colours. (I only lose the colour with objects, not text)
Also, when I send a copy of a Publisher page to my partner who is on the same PC, it looks fine on her screen.
I?ve tried going to Install/uninstall programs and run the Repair, but to no avail. The guys in my computer shop are clueless without seeing it. Anyone who can help solve this for me is a gem.

What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with compatible inks?

I'm happy to invest in buying a colour laser: but I can't find any refills for lasers
At least they don't seem to be widely available

So, my choice is: colour laser + genuine inks or colour inkjet + compatible inks

From what I know, side by side: laser's are cheaper
But, how about when compared to genuine laser ink to compatible colour inkjet inks?

I should stress that for me needs, I am not overly concerned if using compatibles doesn't give me perfect results - just close as possible is fine for me

What's more important probably is speed of print at highest quality

ANY feedback would be great

Thanks

Answer:What's cheaper: colour laser with genuine ink or colour inkjet with ink compatibles?

Finding Compatible Remanufactured Color Toner cartridges can be dicey. While they may be available, the problem may end up being the company tht does the remanufaturing. It is also dependant upon the model printer you get. I have noticed that the savings on my Black Canon X-25 toner cartridge is only about $12 lower than the cost of a Factory original cartridge. There are sites that I would save up to $30 per cartridge, but part of this is eaten up by the shipping charges. For my toner cartridge, I am about 1/2 mile from the store that does nothing but ink and toner refill services, and their garauntee thier cartridges 100%. In 3 years I have only had to return one cartridge and it was an HP #17 Color cartridge.

Now per page printing cost on a laser is much cheaper than on an inkjet. Though the printer cost itself is usually much higher for a Laser. Personally I use the laser much more than than my Inkjet, but I do use the inkjet for all color printing. But then 95% of my printing is monochrome text.

Hi, I'm using the Aerolite theme with Aeroglass, and want a consistent colour for the borders. So I set accent colour from background 'off' and choose the colour. Fine so far.

Now that's ok if I log off and on.

But if I sleep or hibernate (not personally ) and then resume, the colour and setting are lost.

I noticed that on resuming, the border colour is present until the 'Please wait' screen appears, after which these settings are lost.

Answer:COLOUR LASER - PRINTING BLACK USING COLOUR!!

That would pee me off no end. How in God's name can it use colour to create black when there's a black cartridge in there? A cheapo mono laser seems to be your ideal tool. I know nothing about colour laser printers, but is there an option anywhere in the settings to print using only the black cartridge? Does the printer still work if you take out the colour cartridge while printing only black text documents?

Hello.

I seriously need help with my PC. I've reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and I can't chnge the Screen resolution or the colour quality. It sucks. The resolution stays at 800x600, the lowest possible, and the colour quality stays at 8 bit. I think I have a ATI 128 MB DDR Radeon 9800 Pro. I dunno whether thats a driver or what. And I also don't know my graphics card, or whether that will help at all.

I would swear at this point but I'm too young.

Oh but I'll use this instead

Has anyone got any help for me that I can understand. I'm 14 but I still can understand most computer talk.

Anyway thanks very much for reading all this crap and please try not to point out all my spelling mistakes.

Heya, welcome to the forums

Okay, it has to do with your drivers. Go to ATI's website and find your driver.

Here's the link

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

Please download and install both the Control Center as well as the Display driver. Then restart your computer and try to change the resolution.

Cheers!
