Windows 10- Windows Live Mail 2012. Transfer of E-Mails to Document Folders. Can I get some help?

Question: Windows 10- Windows Live Mail 2012. Transfer of E-Mails to Document Folders. Can I get some help?

Since upgrading to Windows 10, Iam having trouble opening my Windows Live Mail 2012 emails that I transferred to my folders in the Document section (not the folders within the e-mail categories i.e. Inbox, Outbox, Trash etc.) when I had Windows 7.
I also cannot drag Windows 10 received e-mails to opened folders in the taskbar - the not permitted symbol appears. This I could do in Windows 7.
When I click on to WLM 2012, it starts to open but the engaged symbol revolves and revolves, and gets stuck. This happens despite choosing WLM as my default app.
Has anyone had this trouble?

Preferred Solution: Windows 10- Windows Live Mail 2012. Transfer of E-Mails to Document Folders. Can I get some help?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm new to windows 7. Found this discrepancy when using App called GroupMail. It's mail importing of my recently new addresses did not coincide with what I was seeing in WLM folders. I'm finding store folders In C:user/contacts and in Crogram Files/Windows Mail/wab and Crogram Files (x86)/Windows Mail/wab which are all the same and different from WLM screen. Why? How do I change to get everything together for my app to work properly? Thanks for any insights!

My old Windows XP computer has 'died' and so I purchased a new PC with Windows 7 installed. I used Outlook on my old PC and backed up my .pst file. I want to use Windows Live Mail but I cannot find a way of transferring my emails, contacts and calendar folders over to Windows Live Mail - it does not import .pst files. Because my old computer is broken I cannot convert the data into Outlook Express .dbx format.

Does anyone know how I can get round this problem?

Answer:Transfer Outlook folders to Windows Live Mail

try using thunderbird its a good client for email

you should have a trail version of outlook - set that up to use outlook Microsoft Outlook 2010 - Email and calendar software - Office.com
Sometimes PCs come with a full version of msoffice - including outlook - although recently they have changed to started edition without a lot of programs included

now install thunderbird Thunderbird - Software made to make email easier
thunderbird should see outlook as the default client and ask if you want to import all the email, contact etc

I have tried on 2003 and a trail of 2007 and this has worked really well in the past to migrate uses

Hello,

Please could someone give me a hand. I'm trying to transfer e-mails on Microsoft Windows Mail from a laptop with Windows Vista to another laptop with Windows 7. I don't know what to do.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks very much.

Answer:Transfer of E-mails from Microsoft Windows Mail

Probably easiest to install on the Vista the email client that you intend to use on Windows 7. At least some (e.g., Thunderbird) will allow you to import messages (and other info) from other email clients. Then it will be a simple matter of copying the appropriate data to the new machine or using whatever official backup and restore functions are available.

I have an Windows (Vista) notebook with outlook 2007, and now I have an new notebook with Windows 8.1. Where I want to export my mail & contact to Windows live mail, how can I import this in WLM on my other notebook?

I already have configure my mail on WLM where I can receive and send messages. I tried something with the program Mailstore 8 but my mail is now on another computer.

I also find this link: how to export mail, calendar contact in outlook to windows live mail clientWith the "Outlook Conversion Application" solution but is this possible on different computers and has WLM an import function?

Answer:Export mail and contacts from Outlook 2007 to Windows live mail 2012?

Don I might be way off track here mate but was the Outlook account the same email address as you have set up in WLM?

Just a thought you might try adding an account to WLM using the old address and password. I did this with my old account from my service provider then went to a Hotmail account.
Now admittedly it was still within WLM but worth a try.

What I will do is try and add my work account (Outlook) to my WLM and see if it works.

PS It added the account but I have to get the POP and STMP settings right first.

Microsoft is "upgrading" people's  @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com accounts, to a new Outlook.com (built upon the latest Office 365 infrastructure), which is INcompatible with Live Mail 2012 (and presumably older versions as well):  Effective late June 2016, Windows Live Mail 2012 will no longer synchronize emails, contacts, and calendar events from these email accounts.
People who use Windows Live Mail 2012 to connect to other email services, including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or other services that use POP3 or IMAP protocols, do not need to take action.
Is this another veiled attempt to force users to "upgrade" from Windows 7?
Users can still access their e-mail via their web browser(s).   Or they can use the new Outlook.com and/or a Mail app on Windows 8.1/10

Answer:Can I Import Live Mail 2012 to Windows 10 Mail?

Add your email account to Windows 10 email app and it will sync with whatever email you have on the email server. I have not seen a way to import locally saved email, such as a .pst file, into the Windows 10 email app.

This is my first Post, so apologies if it is in the wrong Forum ...

I have come here after receiving zero help from Microsoft's own Help channels, for Windows 10!

I completed what appeared to be a relatively trouble-free upgrade from Windows 7 to 10, but have now found that whenever I try to attach or insert anything into an email with WLM 2012, it immediately says 'Not responding' in Task Manager. My only option is to 'End task' in Task Manager, thus losing my partially written email.

I'm sure you will need further info, but as I'm not sure what to include I've kept it short.

Hi

Having upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit, I have discovered that I have limited control of my options, in Windows Live Mail (Essentials 2012 version)!

Prior to the upgrade, and with the 2011 version of WLM, I was able, through the Options facility to select certain actions, such as:

"Send/Receive on Start up!
and
Delete messages from the deleted folder on close down!

The Options Tab, which allowed these choices, was on the tool bar, at the top of the window, just below, and just to the left of the Close Window X!

This facility does not appear on the current 2012 version!

I would appreciate any advice on this matter

At the moment, I have to manually select Send/Receive, and manually delete old messages

Hi Theo, When first installing W8 I noticed the 'Tile' for Windows Live Mail in 'all apps'. Didn't take much notice as don't use Live Mail which in W7 & W8 was an integral part of Messenger. However to use Messenger you had to create a Live Mail/Hotmail a/c.
Well having become more settled with what I need in W8 I thought I'd have a look at the 'Windows Live Mail' and so pinned the tile to Start & Desktop. I just opened it today and found it has the new UI of the Ribbon Type which makes it very flexible and perhaps more attractive to future use by me. I also noticed it had the 'Options' you require, which you will find on the Toolbar when you create a new message. Hope this helps.

I believe if you are replying to an email from the person you want to add, if you open your sent email, their email will be a link. Right click the link and it should have an option 'Add to Contacts'.

This version, as opposed to 2011, automatically opens the email when it is: (1) highlighted with the cursor or (2) left-clicked or (3) right-clicked. How can I send it to delete, junk, spam, etc., without opening it and being exposed to phishing or some other virus? I preferred 2011's system of double-clicking to open. Can that be accomplished in Mail 2012?

Hi
I have just installed windows 10 upgrade and everything is fine but my email. I use WLM 2012 for work with my work signature on it and it wont work properly.

It seems to give this error message when i try and send " the message cannot be sent an error has occured". When i look at the inbox messages that were in there from windows 7 its all ok but the messages that tried to come through after i installed 10 show this " Message could not be displayed
Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again."

Clearly im not low on memory or disk space. So i cant send or receive mail, even though the send receive works ok.

I have tried SCANNOW and it found nothing wrong and compatibility in windows 7 and 8 and still it wont work. If i try and open it in windows 10 it wont even open, if i do it compatible in windows 7 it will open but wont send or receive anything.

I am using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail. I wanted to stop transmission of two e-mails that I wanted to cancel completely. I was able to stop them by opening the window showing progress ( accessed by clicking on "Sending e-mail). On the next occasion of opening Live Mail the two e-mails again commenced to transmit even though I had cleared the Outbox.
My question is, how do I permanently cancel e-mails before transmission

Answer:Cancelling e-mails in Windows Live Mail

I would move them out of the Outbox and delete or just move to another folder.

I don't suppose a system restore would fix it.
Or go to Windows Live essentials in ad remove and click uninstall/repair.it will give you a choice of what you want to repair or remove click on windows live mail and choose repair.
Now that may bring them back or it might not.So best waiting for other solutions first.

I bought a Gateway laptop in June 2013, with Windows 8 installed and Outlook Mail.
Since I like to have the latest of everything, I immediately downloaded the Windows 8.1 update that was offered.

That worked great and I loved it. Then I decided to download Windows Live Mail 2012, since I have 4 different email accounts and really didn't like the Mail program that came with the computer. After that it was one problem after another. I even asked questions in these Forums, can't find the original post. I tried hundreds of different solutions and some worked for a while, some didn't. I uninstalled/reinstalled Windows Live Mail 2012 a countless number of times.

I got very tired of all that and noticed my laptop was very sluggish. So, I decided to do the Recovery back to factory settings with all my files left intact.

It was work, but it was worth the effort. I've come to the conclusion that my update to 8.1 and Windows Live Mail 2012 were incompatible.

I am now using Windows 8 and Windows Live Mail 2012 with no problem at all. The laptop is working as fast as when I originally got it.

Suffice it to say, newer is not always better!! I'll stick with Windows 8, so I can get and read my email when I wish.

Just an FYI for any of you that might have had similar problems.

Answer:Windows 8.1 and Windows Live Mail 2012 Problems

Not at all. I use Windows Live Mail 2012 and 8.1 and it works perfectly fine. It also worked fine on Windows 8 and 7 (although perhaps it wasn't 2012 at that point)

I do not know if I am on the right forum or not but I thought I'd start here.  I am having trouble with Windows Live Mail 2012 trying to send an email.  I was on the phone for an hour with Comcast trying to get this straightened out and they made it worse.  When I open Live Mail, all the mail from my Xifinity goes right into it.  It will not do that now.  If I try to send an email, I get a message that says:  An unknown error has occurred.  Server smtp.comcast.net, Windows Live Error ID:  0x8007007A, Protocol SMTP, Port 587.  So I call Comcast and the girl had me change my port numbers, and we would try some things...long story short, I now have about five email accounts with the same email address.  How do I get rid of them?  When trying to execute getting mail, a box pops up to tell me what the email is doing, and it goes down the line of emails and tells me it is trying one, then says that failed, then tries the next which also fails, etc., for 5 times.  I know that is not right but it comes from her trying to get my email working again and repeating the same steps over and over, hence all the email accounts even though they are all the same email address.  I can use Comcast's mail, but there are times when I want to send pictures to someone and for some reason, I cannot do that with Comcast mail, which is why I use my Windows Live. Now, before this all started, I would be on Windows Live Mail, finis... Answer:Windows Live Mail 2012 not working

Quotethere are times when I want to send pictures to someoneThe Error code indicates that you tried to send an E-mail that included a photo album. Check your outbox and delete any messages that include pictures or photos. The Error is because of changes that were made to OneDrive. What probably happened is you used the "Photo Email" or "send photos by Email" feature, so now every time you try to send Email, that item attempts to send and it fails. The two features no longer work due to changes in OneDrive. You'll want to send any photos specifically as attachments. You can find additional information here. The error message and ID have nothing to do with any account settings, so the tech really just wasted your time by following a script. I found this for deleting accounts:1. Open the Tools > Accounts menu.2. From the Mail tab, click the email account that should be deleted.3. Choose RemoveQuoteNow, before this all started, I would be on Windows Live Mail, finish what I'm doing and X out of it.  After I X'd out, a box would come up saying Windows Live Mail is restarting, and then it restarts.  I do not know why it is doing that when it never did before.  I have changed no settings on my Live Mail.I would surmise that when you close it it tries to send the messages in the outbox. Because of the aforementioned error, it crashes, and then Windows "helpfully" restarts the program. (Words cannot express the passionate hat... Read more

Hello,

In windows live mail 2012 as is other mail programs I have a calendar. Whether or not I am logged in or not how do I incorporate a .ics file into this calendar? I read somewhere that wlm2012 will not allow this but I am not sure. What's the definitive answer. Thanks Vince

Hi vinman,

You may import an 'ICS file' with 'Windows Live Mail' only with 'Windows Live Calendar' on the web. To import it, open Sign In > Sign in with the same 'Live ID' that you use to sign in 'Windows Live Mail' > Import the 'ICS file' on the web (Your online calendars will automatically sync with your Windows Live Mail calendars).

Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions.

If you have Office 365 you can use the Outlook program. If you don't have that you need to use the Windows 10 Outlook app.

Hi all

I?m using Word 2013 and have just now discovered that a few of my (long) existing Word documents contain various lines which are configured with collapsible Headings (how they got in there, I?ve got no idea) and until a few days ago I had no idea what a collapsible heading even was.

Now, I know how to revert the text back to the way it was and get rid of the arrow, but whenever I disable the ?collapsation? the whole title loses its bold formatting and changes the font size. I can only perform the ?de-collapsation? process wherever it appears in the document, does anybody know whether it?s possible (and how to) remove all instances of collapsation throughout the entire document simultaneously and without changing any existing formatting?

Answer:Help needed with Windows Live Mail 2012

you are in the web/email forum and your title is for an email client program

but the question is about word???

is that correct? if so i will changer the title and move the thread

Hello!

I noticed a strange issue in my father's new notebook (Windows 10 Home). He had Windows Live Mail in his Windows 7 desktop, so I installed Windows Essentials 2012 in the notebook as well to use a familiar e-mail application. I setup the same account and the first days it worked flawlessly. Yesterday my father told me he could not sent mail. There was a popup to enter the user name and password. I could not make it work. Out of curiosity, I configured the same mail account in Outlook 2010 using exactly the same settings, servers, ports, user name and password. And of course it worked! It also works without any problem in Windows Live Mail in his Windows 7 PC. What's going on here? I thought to backup the account, uninstall Windows Essentials and reinstall it but I'm not sure it will help and it was rather late so I postponed it. Any ideas? I already tried to disable Windows Defender and Windows Firewall and test settings such as port 465, require secure connection etc. Nothing did the job.

Thank you in advance.

PS: Just in case this info helps, I live in Greece, Athens and my father's ISP is OTENET (now called COSMOTE) with default POP host mail.otenet.gr, default SMPT host mailgate.otenet.gr. The user name can either be my email address or just the bit before @ of my email address. I tried both didn't work.

Hi, I have a really frustrating issue since changing web hosts, the problem I am having is my mates email (as per the title), it's as though it keeps syncing with something else, he is a major technophobe, and can't handle change, so simply using a different client is not an option.

Now every time I try to get his emails back, they just revert back to the messed up state, vanishing from the proper folder they were put it, using recovered data as it's way of accepting the emails, I am not used to the client, so I am unsure what and how it acts\works\displays, there is the main email block near the top on the left panel that is standard in any client, but then it has a secondary group of folders under that labelled "Storage" in another group of the same headings (albeit some in numerous "recovered" sub folders as well), and no matter how many times I try and move them over, they keep coming back as rescued files.

I have uninstalled the client, reinstalled it, and it makes it worse, putting back what files I have been able to move over from the proper in-boxes etc, as recovered files again, I have then uninstalled it again using Revo, cleaning out all it's leftovers from the hidden files etc as well, then run junk file cleaners to clear the all out, rebooted, run the junk files cleaners again, double checking no files had came back again then reinstalling it again, and they still come back again, but a variation during this, and that's they are listed in sl... Hi, New member here.
Little problem. Recently had to replace HDD, and one consequence was that I no longer have the use of Live Mail 2012. I have set up ThunderBird, but am unable to access my email history (sent/received) that was generated when using 2012. Any thoughts on how to retrieve them, OR, where can I get LiveMail 2012 again - as Microsoft don't offer a download any more?
Hoping for a little help
Cheers, Les.
Meant to say thanks for sorting a "recycle bin" issue - which originally brought me here!

Just happened to realize there is a new WLM version....(16.4.3503)
http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&sclient=...w=1432&bih=682

Why am I not being notified by Windows Update ? I was, last time there was a WLM update to 15.4.3555.0308

Have anyone tried it ?
I am a little skeptical.

Answer:Windows Live Mail 2012 (16.4.3503) ???

Update :
Windows Live Essentials 2012 installed.
Checked the new WLM against the former 2011. See no difference.
Checked Windows Movie Maker, see no difference.
Why MS wasted their time and mine ?
Can't they just send in some updates through Windows Update Center ?

Hi

I have installed Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3505.0912) I would like to send it into the tray if I close live mail, that worked under Windows 7 but does not work unter Windows 8

does anyone know the solution?

Answer:Windows Live Mail 2012 into tray ?

I think that function is gone in Windows 8. I read somewhere to try to run WLM using compatibility mode then do it the same way as Windows 7, but for me that just crashed WLM.

I'm trying to find a word (or word string) in several years worth of e-mails.
The built-in Windows 7 search engine is very fast, but appears to only find those e-mails in which the word is included in the title or addresses.
I want to find words in the body of the e-mails.
Will the Win 7 engine do it?
If so, what am I not doing so it'll find them?
If not, any recommendations on something free that will?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
AL

Answer:How do I search for a word in all Windows Live Mail e-mails at once?

FileLocator Lite free (aka Agent Ransack) should be able to do this.
FileLocator Lite - Free File Searching Utility

On the Options tab check the Office formats checkbox in Enhanced Document Searching.
On the Main tab Containing text field enter the word or string you are searching for.
If it's a string, put double quotes around the string.

To make the search faster and filter results you can:
On the Main tab File name field enter *.eml.
On the Main tab Look in field browse for specific folders to search.

My PC with Live Mail is busy right now so I can't post screen prints.
If you need screen prints or more help, post back.
It's free, and it's easy to use ... give it a try.

I can't see my sent mails. I know they are getting sent, they're just not getting saved in my "sent folder".
I can't find them anywhere.

I installed windows live mail on an XP machine 2 months ago, when my bridged version of Win-7 crashed for the 3rd time, and all the mail I had on the crashed Win-7 machine showed up on the XP machine.
I had to delete hundreds of unwanted mail. I have done this 4 times, one each for 2 crashed Win-7 upgrade installs, and on the XP.
Today, I set up my new win-7 machine, and installed Windows Live Mail. It only collected today's e-mails, and nothing else.
I thought Live Mail held messages for 30 days (back-up). How do I get to them?

First of all, let me explain...I am as dumb as a post concerning computers.  Can turn them on, get on craigslist and send e-mails and that is about it!!  So bear with me...After really bad service with Frontier, internet down 4 days in a row over the Fourth, I went with a new provider.  In setting up my new e-mail account, i just blindly followed his instructions and got a new account but permanently lost all my old e-mails.
I googled the question...How to retrieve e-mails from a windows 7 live mail 2011 and there was a helpful page explaining how it is done..helpful to those who understand computers, with me...not so much.
Here is what was given...."Shut down Livemail 2011,  then go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft   right click on windows live mail folder and choose "restore previous sessions". choose date.
OK, can anyone walk me through this?  When it says go to...where am I going and how do I get there?  What is my username, is it my e-mail address or my real name ?  Is this info stored in my computer somewhere?  A friend oif mine got my computer started for me years ago but to him it was so fast and simple I don't know what he did and I moved and he has too and no phone number to contact him.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Is there a link that provides a fix that actually works?

Windows 7 Home Preimum 64 bit
WLM 2012 (Recently updated to 2012 from 2011 - issues started in 2011 version.)

My issues with WLM started when I rolled back to Windows 7 after trying out Windows 10. I noticed that I couldn't delete certain email messages. I found a work-around, but can only delete one message at a time - I have no patience for that. Anyway, I uninstalled WLM 2011 and installed WLM 2012 hoping I'd be able to recreate CLEAN email accounts. No luck - all OLD emails were moved over from 2011 to the 2012 version. This put me back to the same issue - having to delete one email at a time.

I tried the recommended fix: To repair Windows Live Essentials - That did not work.

I have disabled any anti virus email/scans that might be causing problems -That did not work.

I started to receive a pop-up "Recovering Windows Live database" - This is a recent thing and I'm not sure why.

Anyway, I'm at a loss and pretty much have given-up trying to fix this. Again, is there a fix for this? If so, please provide a link even if it's instructions for doing an uninstall/reinstall without adding old emails from the prior version.

I had Windows Live Mail 2011 and had no problems. Then I upgraded to Windows live mail 2012 and that is when the problems started.
All email comes in fine
All email sends fine as long as you only send out one contact.
The problem lies in trying to send out a group contact.
It does not go. when trying to send you get this error msg : imgur: the simple image sharer
I did not realize this problem until i tried to send out a group contact
In fact I put the program on 3 different machines that were upgrades- same problem
Worse, I put this on 8 client computers who had windows live mail essentials 2011 prior and same problem.
I went to the Micrososft Forum and told them the problem. They have been working with me to come up with a fix. i sent them logs that they asked for. So far I only see on the forum "they are working on it"
This is the forum that i posted to Windows Live Mail Essentials 2012 will not allow group contacts - Microsoft Community

I suggest prior to putting the new version on you backup Windows live mail first
Also this does NOT happend if you are putting the program on for the first time and not doing an upgrade
It does not matter if you sign into Live Mail with a live account or you use your own isp, I have tried both and I still cannot send a group contact.

Once uninstalling 2012 and going back to 2011 (you can still get 2011) the group contacts went just fine

Did a recent install of Windows 7 Pro, SP1, 64 bit.
Installed Windows Live Mail 2012, where I have a variety of email accounts: one Gmail, one Comcast, and several domain based email accounts.
When I send an email from any of my domain based accounts, the sent email doesn't appear in the Sent folder of the specific account I sent it from. Instead, it appears in the Sent folder under the Storage folders.
I do not have this issue with the Gmail or Comcast accounts.
Is this an issue with WLM 2012? Have I configured something wrong? Is this an issue with my website host?
Appreciate any help with this. Thank you.

I'm working on a laptop with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail 2012 is not exporting email properly.

There are 4,008 messages in the Inbox folder but the export function will only copy out ONE message. A web search finds that this function of WLM 2012 is very badly broken and apparently Microsoft is not going to fix it. No difference in its dysfunction if it's set to work offline.

Exporting from Outlook then into WLM worked fine, but WLM can only (not) export to WLM and Exchange, which requires being on a network with an Exchange server.

Answer:How do I get Windows Live Mail 2012 export to work?

Open the blue File menu
Select Export email > Email messagesSelect Microsoft Windows Live MailChose the export destination folder, [Make New Folder] is a bit tricky, the Folder: field doesn't always automatically get updated, I just click on the folder above it, then click on the folder I created. As long as both the highlighted folder and the name of the folder in the Folder: filed match, you're good to go.
Press [OK]Make sure the radio button All folders is the active selection.
Press [Next]The export should begin and every eMail message should be in the destination folder you chose.

I took a look at the tutorials and played around but I must be doing something wrong. For example, when I trying exporting and then importing some test messages I wasn't able to find them. The storage folders, where I think the test emails should have been imported, were empty. Tried a few times and always the same result.
Now I'm thinking it might be easier if I just back up all the folders in the Windows Live Mail folder on the C drive. Is this a viable and fool proof way of saving all emails and then being able to restore them?

Answer:Windows Live Mail 2012 Backup Questions

If the accounts are IMAP, the mail will be retained on the remote server no matter what you do with your local client (except for deleting mail from within the client, which will delete it remotely as well). POP is another story, because once downloaded it usually, though not always, is gone from the remote.

I don't see why you couldn't back up the entire WLM folder, which is probably in c:\users\<user name>\appdata\local....

In fact, when I do a reinstall, I always do a file back up of most of the appdata folder. It invariably comes in very handy.

Another way for an independent mail backup, POP or IMAP, is to use MailStore, which is free for private use.

I tried setting my mates AOL email account (imap) tonight in Windows Live Mail 2012, everything went fine until it was time to "download" the folders from AOL, we keep on getting a "Server error message" and the folders will not download.
Now I know nothing about AOL as I'm in Aust. and my mate is in Michigan USA

I have Googled for answers left - right and center and the answers I did find re the settings did nothing to help us with the problem.

Could somebody help us out please or point us in the right direction as to how we may solve this issue.

Thanks.

Answer:Problem with AOL Server in Windows Live Mail 2012

What is the exact "Server error message" you get? A screen shot(s) might be easiest and best.
Can you post screen shots of the Email account setup showing servers, ports, security settings, etc?
Just don't post the email address or any other personal data.

I had Windows Live Mail Essentials 2011
Mail 2011 and had no problems. Then I upgraded to Windows live mail 2012 and
that is when the problems started.
All email comes in fine
All email sends
fine as long as you only send out one contact.
The problem lies in trying to send out a group contact.
It does not go. when trying to send you get this
error msg : imgur: the simple image sharer
I did not realize this problem until i tried to send out a group contact
In fact I put the program on 3 different machines that were upgrades- same problem
Worse, I put this on 8 client computers who
had windows live mail essentials 2011 prior and same problem.
I went to the Micrososft Forum and told them the problem. They have been working with me to
come up with a fix. i sent them logs that they asked for. So far I only see on
the forum "they are working on it"
This is the forum that i posted to Windows Live Mail Essentials 2012 will not allow
group contacts - Microsoft Community

I suggest prior to putting the
new version on you backup Windows live mail first
Also this does NOT happend
if you are putting the program on for the first time and not doing an
upgrade
It does not matter if you sign into Live Mail with a live account or
you use your own isp, I have tried both and I still cannot send a group
contact.

Once uninstalling 2012 and going back to 2011 (you can still get
2011) the group contacts went just fine

When I used Outlook Express and Windows XP I was able to delete E-Mail messages from Folders in bulk but not necessarily deleting the whole Folder. I like to clear out older messages from some, but not all, Folders - say annually whilst retaining the last few months incase needed. I can't find a way to do this in Windows Live Mail 2012 using Windows 7. Deleting them one by one would be a nightmare. Can it be done ?

Answer:Bulk deletions from Windows Live Mail 2012

The usual way to bulk select a continuous block of any files, email included, is to click on the first one you want to delete then hold down the Shift key and then click on the last one in the block and then press Delete on keyboard (or with mouse rightclick on the selected files and choose Delete)
Does that not work for you in Windows Live Mail 2012?

System is windows 10 Pro.
(and please, do not suggest that horrid mail app, it is so lacking in basic features).

Suddenly no links in emails will work in emails in WLM 2012.
Firefox is set as default but nothing opens.

I am working round it by copying and pasting the link into FF address bar.

I think I've done everything suggested in earlier posts about this.

Microsoft help instructs making IE default !!!! No thanks.

Answer:Links not working in Windows Live Mail 2012

Hi rufford155, sometimes I get the same if FF is open on certain unknown websites. Try the links with FF closed.
Is FF set as default browser. Is WLM 2012 default mail in FF.

I have Windows Live Mail 2012 and I use to receive emails from yahoo. I can go to the internet and retrieve my emails going to Yahoo.com, but I use to get them automatically without having to go through the extra steps of going to the internet.
When ever open up Live Mail and click on Send/Receive or f5 button I get a small window asking to log on - Yahoo, asking for user name and password for the following server.
It is auto filled and when I click okay or cancel, within a second or two the same screen pops up again.
My computer is Windows 7 Home premium

What is a good e-mail to replace Windows Live 2012.

I don't want to pay for Microsoft's PAY THROUGH THE NOSE Office Suite just to get OUTLOOK. I want to be able to use my MSN, LIVE, etc e-mail addresses and be able to store my e-mails on my computer, just like Windows Live Mail allowed me to do. I have 3 desktops all running Windows 7 Pro 64.

Only upgraded due to warning about pending change in you have a hotmail email address.
I am on Windows 7.

Answer:Windows Live Mail 2012 has the sender as the TO in the Sent Folder - that is, me.

Recently "upgraded" to W10 from W7 (like so many apparently ) Most of 10 works OK and my old installed programs are fine but the big problem I'm having is with Live Mail 2012 Program (is it now an app?)
The program sometimes starts, sometimes not. When it starts it's seems to be in a un-started state or partially started, nothing is accessible and the windows busy mouse icon just goes round and round. Only task manager will close it then, even 'Close Window' on the taskbar does nothing.
I have tried a repair of Live Essentials > Live Mail as well as uninstalling it and reinstalling but no luck.
Is there any way to get this email program working again, as the Win 10 email app is just appalling?
