Preferred Solution: Microsoft all apps are on Android But why not Google all apps on Windows Phone?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Microsoft all apps are on Android But why not Google all apps on Windows Phone?

Priorities. Where's the users? Android. So where's the money? Android. It's not right but it looks like Microsoft will try and focus more on Windows Mobile soon. Let's hope so.

Google Android Security: Shielding you from Potentially Harmful Applications
Earlier this month, we shared an overview of the ways we keep you safe, on Google and on the web, more broadly. Today, we wanted to specifically focus on one element of Android security?Potentially Harmful Applications?highlighting fraudsters? common tactics, and how we shield you from these threats.

?Potentially Harmful Applications,? or PHAs, are Android applications that could harm you or your device, or do something unintended with the data on your device. Some examples of PHA badness include:

Backdoors: Apps that let hackers control your device, giving them unauthorized access to your data.

Billing fraud: Apps that charge you in an intentionally misleading way, like premium SMS scams or call scams.

Spyware: Apps that collect personal information from your device without consent

Hostile Downloads: Apps that download harmful programs, often through bundling with another program

At its Build developer conference last week, Microsoft made a pair of announcements about Windows development that were more than a little surprising: Windows will support applications developed for iOS and Android.

This immediately felt like a dangerous move. Windows will not be the first operating system to run foreign applications. Famously, IBM advertised OS/2 as a "Better Windows than Windows" in the 1990s, boasting that its platform would run all your existing Windows applications with greater stability and performance. More recently, BlackBerry 10 included support for Android applications, with BlackBerry licensing the Amazon App Store and using it as its gateway to a world of Android-compatible software.

Neither OS/2 nor BlackBerry 10 has made a success of this capability. There are two major problems with supporting foreign applications on a niche platform. The first is straightforward: it removes any incentive for developers to bother with the native platform. Investing in developing for a minor platform is already something of a gamble, and by telling developers "Oh hey, you can just use your existing Win16 or Android program..." as IBM and BlackBerry (respectively) did, you're implicitly sending them a message. "Don't bother learning our platform or writing native apps for it."Click to expand...

if you simple check the Whatsapp it is double in size than the apps in Andriod store.
is not this a issue. it is eating too much of internal memory

Answer:Why are Windows Phone apps larger in size as compared to Andriod apps?

If true, then the app will occupy more space in storage (internal or SD card). There is however no direct relationship between file size and RAM usage. You can't tell, just by looking at file size, how much memory will be required.

On the iPhone, everything that matters lives inside the OS. On Android, it's split between the OS and Play Services.

Google Play Services is a system-level app, which is updated in the background by Google on every Android phone going back to 2010's Gingerbread release. As well as providing APIs that let developers interact with Google services, and porting many features back to older versions of Android, Play Services has an important role in Android security.

The "Verify Apps" feature of Play Services is Google's firewall against app-based malware. It was introduced in 2012, and first enabled by default in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At the time of writing, 92.4% of active Android devices are running version 4.2 and up, and older versions can manually enable it in the Google Settings app.

Verify Apps works similarly to a traditional PC virus scanner:
Whenever the user installs an app, Verify Apps looks for malicious code and known exploits. If they're there, the app are blocked outright ? a message is displayed saying "Installation has been blocked." In other, less suspicious cases, a warning message may be displayed instead, with the option to install anyway. (And Verify Apps can also help remove known malware that's already been installed.)

While the underlying exploit may still be there, this makes it impossible for the bad guy... Read more

Does anyone know how to actually use these apps?
I use the Skype desktop app from my tablet and (beside the fact it is near useless on a tablet) I can at least use it to dial a phone number or (if Outlook is running) select someone and phone them.
Am I completely misunderstanding this app or is there no way to (a) text message any phone, (b) dialog any phone number, (c) contact any person in your People, Outlook, or any list... unless they have a Skype account?
In other words... three silly apps can't do even the most basic thing the desktop app can do?

Answer:Windows 10 Messaging and Phone Apps, how can I use the apps?

You are right that these new messaging and phone apps are (for now) just simple Skype apps. This means that the messaging happens via Skype's network (not real texting) and that you can call any number (except emergency numbers) using your Skype credit.
However, a new feature in the November update also allows you to write texts with Cortana on your PC and who then sends them from your (Windows) phone. Also call notifications will show up on your PC.

hi i want to know if i remove my all apps and games to m.card and than hard reset the phone... will i able to get all my stuff back from m.card or not... plz help me...

Answer:apps remain safe if i remove all of my apps and games to memory card and then hard reset my phone...

In short, will not.
You will not get data back for games and apps that do not utilise onedrive for cloud save.
Any game or app that is discontinued from the store will not restore as all games and app re-install directly from the store - not from your back up. Even if you have apps and games on your SD card, they most likely will be over written during the re-install process.
To restore, once the phone has finished and rebooted, when prompted log in with the same account that you used previously when you set up your phone.
I hope this clarifies how the back up system works

Yesterday I bought my first Windows Phone, a Lumia 630. So far the experience has been terrible and I need help.
No Microsoft or Nokia apps work.
- If I search something on Bing (tapping on the lens icon), web results are not returned;
- If I open Here Maps or Here Drive, the maps are not downloaded and only the circle with my position in an empty universe is shown.
- If I open Nokia Radio, nothing is played;
- If I try to register a Nokia account, I receive an error message;
- The phone does not seem to be able to keep the correct time, I receive several error messages related to a wrong date/time configuration (but quite often the time and the date are correct)
I was able to get a MS account: that's the only thing that worked. The only strange setting I chose is to have the UI in English and have all the rest in Italian and Italian locale.
Is there anything I can check in order to understand the reason why I seem to be locked out of every single MS/Nokia service?

Answer:Problems with Microsoft and Nokia apps on new phone

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Since quite a few of those problems seem to be data reliant, can you verify that your data connection is working properly? Network/operator settings, wifi etc. Perhaps try and load a website in internet explorer. Is it possible to also verify your region settings are correct on your phone?

I work from home. If you haven't done this before, the only way describe working from home to those that don't. This of it like I'm doing a job like a carpenter, plumber, electricians work. You have one job you're working now as a sub contractor building a home from 9-5, mean while you make really good money doing emergency work during off hours. Basically even though you are working right this minute, you're always looking for another job so as to keep the money flowing. And that's where I'm at now.

That's where I am not. I just finished a 6 week long project, I'm doing misc work in the mean time and I need a new contract job. I found one but I need help with it. This job I wish to do is mean to work on a smart phone using android or ios. Either I need to find a good shell program so I can install and run the android app required to do the work. I know I seen one before, but I can't find it now. The other choice is to get VMware and then install android that way. I'd like to avoid that, since Vm is somewhat of a resource hog, slow my system down. Suggestions???

Answer:How would you go about being able to run Android apps from Windows 10?

I'm not into VMs yet but could suggest an inexpensive 7", 8" or 10" Android tablet, many department stores carry them at about $75 for 7" to $180 for 10", my wife got me a 7", fun to play with.

Shame that there is not the Real BBC News App but am pleased so far with all the Apps that Windows 8 have.

Answer:Windows Apps could they be as many as Android?

I think it will grow considerably in near future. Ms has just released help for programmers for Apps and future windows will relay on Apps more and more with "unified" OS that will allow same Apps to work same on different devices. Those are only plans for now. When in next iteration of Windows comes and maybe even before, plans are for Apps to be able to have resizable windows and true multitasking, only than we'll see some really useful Apps from the store and even independent ones. To tell you frankly I didn't find any really useful App yet, at least as not as good as tons of free desktop programs of same genres.

You might want to sit down for this one, folks. In addition to letting developers easily port their Android apps to Windows universal apps, Microsoft is likewise offering a similar capability for iOS apps for iPhone and iPad. And the way this happens is via a secret new project that’s been in the works for years. The best bit? You may already be running the first app ported from iOS.

I know. It’s crazy. But it’s true.

“This capability has been available for some time,” Microsoft executive vice president Terry Myerson told me this week in San Francisco. “King used it to bring Candy Crush Saga Windows Phone in late 2014. And that game has over 40,000 reviews and an average rating of 4.5.”Click to expand...

you would of had to enable backup on the phone so that when you migrate and you are setting up your new phone, you would get an optioin to restore your phone from a previous backup instead of a fresh new phone. the other option is to go to the app store via your phone, then got to the elipses then tap on 'my apps'... from there you can scroll through and manually select the apps you want reinstalled

I am considering getting my first tablet. The thing that prompted me into looking into getting one of my own was that my husband is now bored of me stealing his (hateful) iPad to play games on it that I cannot get on my Lumia phone. (Don't know the model number but it is the now discontinued one with the big screen, the 15-something)
Anyway. I am Windows through and through. My first smart phones were Android but that was back in th very early days of Apple alternatives and it didn't do much then like it does now.
Are the apps for Windows tablets just as limited as they are for Windows phone?
Is there any way to run an Android simulator on a Windows tablet to get access to Android apps and games and would the simulator work as well as having an actual Android tablet or should I just break the chain and get an Android based tablet?
Any help gratefully received as I do not want to part with upwards of 5000,- Danish Krone for something I either can't get to work properly or don't enjoy using.
Thank you.

Answer:Tablets - Windows, Android and Apps

You can also dual boot windows and android tablets, from Chinese OEMs.
There are more UWP games on tablets, due to the centennial bridge, but few of them are touch enabled. An example would be Dark Dream, which is PC only but touch enabled.
There are a few win32's that are touch enabled that generally blow any mobile app game out of the water (although not many, and some require good hardware) - witcher 3, sims 3, trine 2, civ 5 and civ beyond earth, the shadowrun series, the legend of grimrock games (there are a few more - really only witcher 3 is high hardware btw)
Some games that are not specifically touch enabled can be run with some tweaks touch only (if they are mouse driven games). An example I can think of is tides of numerena - with gesturesign mapping a few keys it can be made playable in touch only. If you add a keyboard dock you can add some more games (ie all of the games on the platform), also if you use a controller.
There are some touch based game controllers as well, but I have little experience with them (TouchFox and TabletPro). You use these to overlay a touch controller on top of the game. I've never really had a problem finding enough games to play, and never been into first person shooters, so never really bothered with these.
Here's a list I made awhile back that includes some steam games, some windows store games that all play touch only for tablets...(which may save some folk some work)25 Best Touch Games for Windows Tablets ? Tap That Blog |... Read more

Yesterday, we leaked the official documentation for Project Astoria ? Microsoft?s Windows Bridge for Android which will allow developers to bring their Android apps to Windows 10 Mobile with minor modifications. Following the leak, the folks from China leaked the wconnect tool ? which is what we need to install Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile. After fiddling around with wconnect and the Android SDKs, I was able to Android app on my Windows 10 Mobile device ? and let me tell you, it?s awesome.

For those wondering, I installed Twitter, Slack and Snapchat for Android on my Windows 10 Mobile device.

Installing the Android apps on my Windows 10 Mobile device was fairly easy. I just downloaded wconnect, and the Android SDK (ADB part only), enabled developer mode and used the Command Prompt to install the app. If you?re wondering, no, I didn?t have to modify the APK ? I just download it from APKMirror and installed it without even modifying a single line of code.

So how?s performance of an Android app on Windows Mobile? It?s pretty good. I have not noticed any bug on the Slack and Twitter apps yet and everything seems to work pretty well. Unfortunately though, Snapchat doesn?t work as it requires Google Play Services ? however, I?m pretty sure someone will be able to get it to work after modifying the app and removing Google Play Services from the app.

Nonetheless, here are some screenshots of the apps:

Users can combine contacts, email and calender
Rosalie Marshall, 09 Jun 2009
Google has launched Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook, which it claims will allow customers to use both applications together seamlessly.
The product will allow Outlook users to connect to Google Apps for their web-based email, contacts and calendar. Users can also access information from their work computer using the Gmail interface when they are elsewhere. Robert Whiteside, head of Google Enterprise UK, explained that the service was designed to encourage more businesses to take to Google Apps Premier.
"This just adds to the Google Apps offline capabilities we added recently, and the BlackBerry support," he said. "It will allow businesses deploying Google Apps across the enterprise to continue using Outlook until their rollout is complete."
Whiteside claimed that Google Apps Sync will provide "extremely tight" integration between the two offerings. For example, users can accept a meeting request sent through Outlook in their Google Apps calendar, and their contacts will be completely synchronised.
A simple two-click data migration tool, meanwhile, will allow employees to easily copy existing data from Exchange or Outloo... Read more

I installed many apps locker they all work fine but I can still access apps from the all apps list.

Answer:My apps locker work fine but apps can be accessed from the all apps list, how can I prevent this?

Yes. There is no such thing as a real app locker app in Windows Phones. This is because third party apps are not allowed to interact or interfere with other third party apps due to Windows Phone Sandboxing technology.
If the developer was careful with his app, he or she would have indicated the limitations of the "app locker" he created in the app description. Otherwise, if there is no such disclaimer about the limitations of the app in the app description, the user is encouraged to report the app to Microsoft as a fraudulent or misleading app.

I think being part of Windows 10 will ensure the OS features for Phones and Tablet devices will be on par with Android and IOS but unless people can get the APPS they want the lack of ecosystem will prevent growth above 5-10% worldwide... Windows has to find a way of running Android APPS!!
I recently upgraded from my Nokia 1020 to a Samsung Note 4 and while I miss many things about Windows Phone the number Apps and the quality is way beyond what is offered on Windows Phone. As a number of people have said even Microsoft Apps are better on Android.
If Microsoft had a store that supplied Android APPS as well as Windows Apps they could potentially get revenue from full Android devices using the Microsoft store in the same way I have the Amazon APP Store on my Note 4 in addition to the Google Play Store.
I don`t think Windows developers would be put off as they would be writing to target Desktop, Laptop and Xbox in addition Tablets and Phones.
I think the Windows APPS should be about original APPS for Windows not bad ports of Android and IOS APPS...
To be honest a number of people I persuaded to try Windows Phone 2 years ago are now going to Android and IOS as there is a lack of new flagship device plus missing games and APPS they want to use.
APPS is the number one issue holding Windows Phone and Tablets back Microsoft need to make the big decision as universal APPS on their own will not fix this issue. If Microsoft added this option I think they could get 25% of the Market... Read more

Answer:Windows 10 must allow access to Android Apps to be successful on Tablets and Phones

This whole android apps thing is getting a little tiring, the biggest obstacle I see is the fact android apps are mainly java with some c++, so apart from needing to run an additional android runtime engine you also need a virtual machine for java. Even with the high end hardware this will still be a very slow process. BlackBerry was able to use android store because its written in Java so that's the biggest drain already taken into account.
With universal apps, and nearly all the major ide's have the ability to create cross platform, it's a matter of time and users. Time to develop and users to keep pestering companies. Plus with the enterprise app store coming with win 10 I personally think alot more developers will jump on board.
Just my input on the subject.

why not connect to your google apps via outlook, import the PST back into out look and then allow outlook to upload your mail back.

No, you cannot sideload Android apps on W10M anymore. As it needs the Android sub-system which Microsoft had loaded onto W10M but removed soon after. No one, probably, has tried to do that since then.
All the tutorials you'll find on the internet explaining the sideloading process are from mid-2015 when that was possible.

Last night my Lumia 925 randomly locked up (which it seems to do quite often) so I did a soft reset and then noticed a bunch of problems.
First I noticed a bunch of my app tiles were blank or only displaying the app name. That happens from time to time when apps are updated or decide to lose track of the day. So I tried to go in and refresh them. But a lot of them wouldn't open. Others will open but crash immediately, and others still will open and display their info but won't update their live tiles. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling some of them but it has had no effect.
In addition to apps not behaving, various settings windows won't open. I thought maybe my phone updated and the update was buggy, but I can't check because Extras+Info crashes before opening.
Also, in my app list the first 4 apps are things I did not install, and don't look normal. @{Miscrosoft.BingTranslate, @{Microsoft.MSBatterySaver, @{Microsoft.MSCalendar, and @{Microsoft.MSPodcast. Pretty sure none of those are supposed to be displaying that way.
I didn't attempt to install anything. I've been running 8.1. I don't know if there was an update pushed out last night that I didn't notice installing.
But my phone isn't working and I am frustrated.
Anyone know what's wrong or have suggestions?

So I recently purchased a windows 635 go phone off At&T, and I tried downloading a few free apps. However every time I try downloading an app or updating something it will give me the following error message: We weren't able to install this app to your SD card, its possible that something is wrong with the SD card. And then it goes on to direct me to storage sense. This is my first windows phone, so I am rather confused... My phone has 4 gbs of space free, so shouldn't it be able to download apps? It does say my SD card is not found, so should I buy one?

If you are on the start screen swip to the right. You are now in the app list.
Find the app Storage Sense.and tap on it. Storage sense will now open.
On the lower have of the page you see 3 "bars". Go there and change them all to "phone". Probably some of them are now SD.

I'm looking for an app that can program in languages like C# or Java, for example. I am sorely disappointed that iOS and Android have tens of apps for programming (i.e. Codeanywhere), but Windows Phone has none (except for 'TouchDevelop', which appears to crash/use a strange language that's just a building block to help absolute beginners get started).
I tried searching for some, but all I got was a bunch of results saying how to code for Windows Phone.

Answer:Any coding apps for Windows Phone?

Unfortunately they're none that I know of, but let's be honest here. Why would you want to program on your phone? If you want to program efficiently you're better off with a large screen laptop or a desktop. I know I can't program without two monitors (or perhaps an Ultrawide monitor, it's in my wishlist right now :P)

I've been with Windows Phone since the beginning with the Lumia 900. I've since switched to the Lumia 820. I would love to have a 930, but I live in the US and use AT&T. I would upgrade to the 1020, but why, when WP8.1 devices are coming out with the new sensor core technology, WP8.1 native, and the best possibility of getting the Denim firmware update.
But none of that bugs me as much as the fact that I still cannot get a simple Wifi app like I could with Android.
On Android, there is an app called Wifi Analyzer. It will show me all the different wifi networks in the area (not by mapping known networks, but by searching for wifi networks within range). It will then show me signal strength, channel, and even encryption protocol. It gives me a graph of signal strength overall, or over time. And it has a signal strength "beeper" where it beeps faster the closer I am, and slower the farter away I get to/from a specific wifi radio.
My searches for this kind of Windows app return nothing but apps which have "wifi" in the description even though they are not related to the wifi radio or connection, or apps which act as nothing more than shortcuts to the wifi settings. (which you don't even need on WP8.1)
My question(s) is: Why are there no wifi analyzer apps? Is this because of hardware access restrictions for app developers? What about apps which show simple wifi connection data (SSID, speed, encryption...) for the network you are connected to?

Answer:Still no Wifi apps for Windows Phone?

There is one already built into the WiFi settings.... Just click WiFi sense and it will show you all the nearby WiFi

We have actually made the decision to postpone the apps on SD functionality to a later release. While I know this feature excited many of us, we didn't feel like it was ready for prime time. From You can now run Android apps on a Mac or PC with Google Chrome |

Google?s convergence of Chrome and Android is taking a big step forward this week. After launching a limited App Runtime for Chrome (ARC) back in September, Google is expanding its beta project to allow Android apps to run on Windows, OS X, and Linux. It?s an early experiment designed primarily for developers, but anyone can now download an APK of an existing Android app and launch it on a Windows / Linux PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

You simply need to download the ARC Welder app (based on Android 4.4) and obtain APKs from Google?s Play Store.

I even opened a brand new account And at no time did it request my entering my device. The apps are available from Android market, i guess a part. From androidlovers Lofty sumpthin like that. Also need some knd of security/virus ware! Can anyone help? Thanx.

Answer:android apps

If it's running Android 1.5, the market isn't available on it. Go to the Pandigital website to see what applications, features, and updates are available for your particular model.

Unfortunately, manufacturers of these cheap devices have, in many cases, seriously misled buyers into thinking they're getting a fully functional Android tablet by advertising that they run Android. The truth is that there are many versions of Android which do not all offer the same features. In some cases, devices run a customized version of Android. It's an open source operating system, and distributions can be altered which means they offer different features and functionality.
