Preferred Solution: How can we add live video streaming or a live video player in windows 8.1 application?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: How can we add live video streaming or a live video player in windows 8.1 application?

You have two options.
1) Find an app in the app store that carries the stream you want
2) Find a website that uses HTML5

This has been happening on and off ever since I started with Win 10 and its always very annoying .

System just hangs, no error message, no bsod, just complete freeze and loud hum.

I cant say I can remember having issues watching youtube videos, its the streaming of live content such as filmon. Sometimes I can watch filmon for days and not have the issue and then randomly it will start again. Today I was watching hypermole playing on twitch tv (live) and it just happened. Getting tired of it.
I can also report having all my video content display as a green screen after using hyper v although that may be totally unrelated.

As far as I am aware, I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics, I always try update everything. I have attached the log files as requested.

Hi m1a1t,

Welcome to the 10forums

I'm not a specialist when it comes to freeze problems, but I do have a tip (or 2 when talking about reverting back the changes)
IObit software is known for causing problems, I would highly recommend that you remove it and revert back the changes it made when it comes to drivers.
DB3 may install corrupted or the wrong drivers what may cause problems,Malwarefighter is IMHO garbage,Advanced SystemCare may cause more harm than good
About the uninstall program I can't tell you anything, because I have no experience with it and I prefer to keep it that way.

Hi guys,

We cut the cable and are relying on Roku (in the bedroom) and Xbox 360 (in the living room) to watch TV through Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. We had some nasty weather come through this week and my other half (some may say my better half) wanted to just have the weather on the TV while we were hanging out. So, I set off to make that happen.

A local TV station (1011now.com) has a Livestream feature on their site, which requires Adobe FlashPlayer, and I was hoping to use that. However, Xbox 360's version of Internet Explorer does not support FlashPlayer. So, I scoured the web to see what I could find and it seemed that I may be able to stream video from my computer to the Xbox via web browser.

After about 30 hours of frustration and a fresh installation of Windows, I finally have my computer linked to my Xbox 360. I can play videos and music from my computer libraries without any problems. That being said, I still can't for the life of me figure out how to stream the FlashPlayer content to the 360.

I also learned that I don't have Windows Media Center (WMC) on my computer, which is what the 360 wants to use to do that kind of thing. I also learned that WMC isn't available for Windows 8.1. That is, unless I've grossly misunderstood something.

Any ideas on how I could make this happen?

Answer:Help Live Video Streaming?

Its fairly easy----you need to encode your video to a format like .wmv (Windows), upload it to a server, and voila, thats it. Most basic NLE's will allow you to do this---Remember, you need a server to host your video and that since video files are fairly large, you would want to make sure that you get a good deal on bandwidth usage with your provider.

Im using www.uStream.tv right now to Live Stream my video,
but I want to LIVE Stream Video without www.uStream.tv
through Adobe Live Media Encoder, but I have no Idea what
the FMS URL is.. I looked at a tutorial it said to write it like this,
HTML:
Enter the following address for 'FMS URL':

rtmp: //Your_Domain_or_IP/live/instance_name

Replace Your_Domain_or_IP with your domain name or
dedicated IP address (if your account has been assigned one).
When entering your domain name, do not enter the 'www.'
portion (e.g. type in mysite.com and not www.mysite.com).

The instance name is arbitrary and is used to reference the
stream.

Example FMS URL: rtmp://mysite.com/live/soccermatch
So mine would be rtmp://voccc.com/live/service
but I dont have a /Live/service direction wtf! please help!

My website is www.voccc.com
Need answer ASAP,

Answer:No Video (audio only) When Live Streaming

What exact pages don't work/or what player are they using? YouTube is "streaming" video, so obviously "streaming" video is working.

Most likely, whatever player is used on the page(s) that don't work, needs to be updated or reinstalled.

WMP tries to open it but stops after about 10 seconds. Sometime the stream works perfectly though, which perhaps means its not WMPs fault, but theres something wrong with the computer. I've tried searching for a solution, but nothing is working. Any tips?

I'm using XP media centre.

Not sure where this belongs, since it is audio thought here, feel free to move to proper location if there is one...

This has been an issue for me for a long while now and still cant figure out why, I have gone and built another PC with a better sound card but still cannot get any audio.

I have no problems with audio when I am streaming video from a file, but if it is live streaming I get video but no audio, sorry it seems repetitive but just drives me nuts.

I have a hauppauge1600 PCI Tuner card, and I had no problem with the video, nor with the audio when I was in Media Center, and when streaming a video file, I have tried using some streaming programs and havent had any luck, have used: webcamax, unreal, broadcam, adobe flash video encoder, windows media encoder, video lan.... and nothing plays audio

I have also installed codecs, sharks codecs and even bought another tuner card Kworld PCI ATSC Hybrid HDTV Card (PC150-U). Even got a new Creative X-Fi extreme sound card thinking that was going to fix it, but noooooooo....

at wits end at the moment, and about to shelve this again for a few weeks, but this is last resort, can someone point me in right direction or at least help me trouble shoot?

HELP!

Answer:Have video but no Audio, when streaming live

Guess no one wants to mess with this one, and I'll have to shelve it yet once again. I took out the X-Fi sound card, and still have no audio when streaming live, even updated the RealTek Hd audio drivers to latest. so the onboard dont work either on live streaming.

I'm trying to help my church get live video streaming of the sermons online but I'm not quite sure of the software I need. My church already records all the sermons and makes them available online so they already have the camera setup they need. I want something along the lines of like Shoutcast but for video. I want the source to send data to a higher bandwidth server that can then redistribute it to any viewers. I know uStream is available but we'd prefer to have something of our own setup. The computers in the booth run Windows XP and we have a co-located Linux server running CentOS. Can anyone help out?

I also hope this is the best forum area to post this in.

Answer:Live Video Streaming From Church

Well, I would really recommend uStream, but if you're dead set against it, check out VLC player. I'm no expert on it, but I think you could set it up on the WinXP system, then set it up on the CentOS server, and have CentOS re-broadcast the stream to your viewers. (setup the WinXP comp to stream, then tell the server to get it's source video from that stream)

Hello, I have noticed that sometimes when I am watching live video being streamed from websites on the web that my PC will just shut down.  I know that this can be sometimes caused by overheating, or too many programs running at once but usually when I'm watching streaming video that is all I'm doing.  It may be caused by fullscreen viewing on the websites, but when I play DVD's or watch movies that I'm downloaded in Full screen this doesn't happen.  I don't receive an error message(I know this may be because of a setting that calls for auto restart when errors occur.) the PC will just shut down and then I can hear my HD revving really fast.  My PC to my knowledge has a good power source and it is an intel processor 6x T1100 Phantom II so, it should be able to handle quite a bit I would think.  Any help would be appreciated, I know you guys are the best because you've helped me before.

Hi all.
I've got the mlb.com baseball package. However, the video always ends up freezing or stop and go. Sometimes it will work fine for as long as 2 min. Sometimes if I let it run, it corrects itself. Other times it freezes my pc. This has been going on since I subscribed about 2-3 weeks ago. I've tried every setting as far as display properties, text size, shutting off security center so there would be no background programs running. Including windows update. Still no luck. I've also tried disabling the display adapter, rolled back driver , updated driver. Every time I log in, I get this message after clicking the error icon on the MLB screen:Message: Object doesn't support this property or method

I did change a few #'s after the id= with xes just in case for security reasons. Any suggestions out there on what I can do? No sense extending my sub with the results I'm getting right now.

Sorry but couldn't think of anywhere else to post this but how would I go about streaming my meetings online through video and audio? If anyone has some quick suggestions please respond to this, I'd really appreciate it.

Answer:Live Video/Audio Streaming

If you want to have some type of on-line interactive meeting between people at two or more locations, the feature is included with Windows 2000 and XP:

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/NetMeeting/InAction/default.ASP

If you wish to broadcast your meeting over the internet then you will need to run some type of streaming server and have a high bandwidth connection out of your meeting location.

I watch live cricket games through internet all the time, it uses media player to play the live video streaming. Is there a way I can copy live streaming video onto my hard disk as a video file while watching it?

Answer:How to record live streaming video

Hi,
I guess that maybe there would a problem with copyright, I may be wrong?

I would assume live streaming as 2009 would conflict with the rights of the owner.

Other members may have more insight into this particular aspect of legal/copyright.

Does anyone know of a simple, straightforward application that can record/save live webstreams in order to watch them again later? The webstreams are basically concerts. I notice that by right clicking, that the webstreams use Adobe flashplayer. But, right clicking doesn't result in any way to save the webstream. (I can sort of see why. The source would need to save it and make it available as a link.)

Or, another option is I can choose a lower video quality by clicking on a link from the source site, and this causes the webstreams to open in windows media player.
So, I'm hoping to be able to save them, and maybe even edit them. But every program I've looked at seems too complicated for my beginner status.
I've downloaded Itunes, but as far as I know it can't record right?

Answer:Recording live streaming video

I use Real Player which is free, and has a "Download this Video" link that is fabulous. This link will download any video, movie, music, etc. The only thing that will prevent the downloading, is if the item is protected from downloading by its license (which happens occasionally, but not that often).

Does anyone have experience with live streaming video servers? What I would like to do is that a live broadcast that originates from Quicktime Broadcaster, pipe it through a video encoder and format agnostic server, and offer it up to clients.

Wowza Media Server (@wowzamedia.com) seems to do that but the $65/month they want for it is a bit steep for the 2-3 hours per month that I need this to work. I do need a version that more than 10 clients can connect to.

Generally speaking paying for a server product isn't the issue if it's a one-off price, the subscription based approach isn't going to work though.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated, I can host on Windows or LInux, MacOS Server isn't an option.

I am not sure if this counts as a hardware or software question, but here goes:

We are trying to set up a streaming solution for multiple live cameras in various locations. The locations are bars and they are spread around the US, so we are trying to pursue options that don't require a computer at the source for the media encoding. We have looked at several standalone cameras and some media server units, but nothing seems to be quite what we need. Plus, there are some questions that aren't getting answered through phone calls to the manufacturers etc. I have looked on the Microsoft site, but there doesn't seem to be a media streaming forum that I could find. Search engines are yielding a lot of irrelevant results.

Does anyone here have experience with this sort of thing, or know of a good forum where I could get some info? I need to know if hardware exists that will send windows media encoded streams, or whether a remote server could handle encoding streams from 50 different cameras... stuff along those lines.

Any help is appreciated.

Lots of debate today on the re-branding of XBox Music to Groove. Maybe Groove will be a good name, maybe a bad name, but if Microsoft was going to dig up an old brand name and re-purpose it, I think they picked the wrong one.
Microsoft should have chosen to recycle the LIVE brand. LIVE Music and LIVE Video would have been perfect, Microsoft already owns the live.com domain and all the branding. Old school Microsoft fans and legacy users would immediately associate the LIVE brand with with Microsoft while new users on Android and iOS wouldn't be coming in with any of the baggage that names like Microsoft Music, Windows Music or Xbox Music carry.
LIVE Music carries all the right connotations you want from a music streaming and radio service. Active, current, alive. Not antiquated and stale like the retro-feeling Groovy.
Seriously, why not LIVE (stylized with the caps and everything!) found online at music.live.com?

Answer:So Groove ... why not LIVE Music and LIVE Video?

Live wouldn't have worked, precisely because it'd be recycling an old name. Not only would it he recycling an old name, it'd be recycling an old name in use.
Live is an email client.
It's Xbox's multiplayer service.
I don't think it would've worked. I'm sure someone at Microsoft presented it, but it was turned down.

Hello! Out of the blue this past spring my Windows Media player stopped playing streaming video (it says "Ready" so I click on the play button and nothing happens. Whereupon I click it again and again as I get angrier and angrier ) So I did a system restore to the earliest date possible and then it started working again...for about a day or two. So then I would do a system restore again. Finally even that stopped working and I gave up. I tried downloading the latest version of Windows Media (11) but that made no difference. On a tip from another forum I checked "use high quality mode" under video acceleration. Then, this past Saturday, it started inexplicably working again. I was ecstatic until today, when, yup, back to non-working. Why????!!!!!
Thanks so much in advance for whatever help you can provide - I'm pretty computer clueless; I had never even heard of system restore until I started scouring the internet looking for possible solutions.

• Make sure that the Internet Wizard or Network Connection Wizard has been run on the system. If it has not been, run either wizard:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Communications.
2. Click New Connection Wizard.

When accessing youtube and certain other videos I have no problem, but when trying to watch other windows media content over the internet (such as CBC playbacks of newscasts or streaming audio) the player pops up, and shows "ready" but when I press play it says "opening media" for about half a second and then goes back to "ready."

My search on the internet results in advice that I should open Options in the media player and click the Network tab to make adjustments to the settings.

Here's the problem. Windows Media player won't let me open the Network tab. I click it, and it won't open, hence I cannot try to solve the problem. My internet search finds a reference to a thread at Microsoft that supposedly addresses this part of the problem but the thread is no longer available.

Can anyone help with these problems? I have another computer that does not have this problem even though both computers are running Comodo firewall, and Windows XP either Home or Media editions.

In an attempt to reduce the number of processes working I disabled several a couple of months ago. I can't recall whether the problems started then.

I have tried rolling back to WMP 10--no luck. So I have reinstalled 11.

Thanks.

Answer:cannot access streaming video through Windows Media Player

Well I resolved the problem. I corresponded with Microsoft several times. They were very helpful, but did not actually solve the problem. They finally told me it was a firewall issue.

I use Comodo, which did not seem to make a difference whether it was working or disabled.

I finally uninstalled a program called Threatfire. The problem then went away. I do not know whether I could have tweaked it somehow but for now the problem is gone.

I wanted to post the follow up for what it is worth.

Hello all,

I recently upgradded my Windows Media player to 10.

In WMP across the top there are several tabs. The last of which is video. Clicking on this I see screen shots of videos with a link beside it that says "play video".

I assume this is free, streaming video. Is this correct?

I cannot play this.

I click on the link and the screen goes black as you would expect, very briefly then the screen goes white. The status bar says "playing" but the screen just stays white.

The progress bar moves as if I'm watching a 9 second video playing on a loop. As it does this the status bar alternates between saying "playing", then "playing playlist: Playlist 5", "clip c",

I went into the MSN Entertainment Download Troubleshooter and everything comes up fine except "Digital Rights Management Test" which comes back as unsuccessful.

I don't know if these two things are connected, but suspect they are.

All the other media I have that I previously had plays fine with no problems what so ever.

Any ideas?

Answer:Cannot view streaming video in Windows Media Player 10

Can you stream audio?
The 9 second clip that recycles sounds like a sample video.
I'm guessin' that the DRM test result is 'cause you're not subscribed to anything.

Hello everyone.

I was working on my pastor's son's computer on Sunday afternoon and he mentioned to me that a Baptist College which his daughters attend streams live sermons over their Web site. He said, though, that for some reason he was unable to access these sermons. I installed the latest version of Windows Media Player, but still to no avail. I also tried to play the streaming video on my computer, but I encountered the same problem. I am attaching the error message dialog because I am sometimes not the best at explaining things.

The link to the sermons is (apparently) always available on the Web site. The only thing which I could deduce is that the streaming video would only work when the sermons take place, but that if the link is clicked on at another time other than the scheduled time that this error would occur.

Could this be a possibility?

Thanks everyone for any help or advice.

Take care.

Dear Anyone.

Downloaded WMP 11. It installed fine. But when I go to sites, such as lordoftv.com, that use an embedded version of the player to stream video, I get nothing. No error message, just a screen with the Windows Media Player logo on it. I can click on it, right-click on it, no error messages, just nothing happens!

Tested some of the single-stream sites - lordoftv.com is a multi stream site with 1000 plus stations - with VLC player and they work fine. Thing is, with VLC you can only use single streaming sites, you can't make it work on multiple sites like lordoftv. Which makes it a pain - every time you want to change stations you have to change sites, find the URL of the streaming page and manually enter it into the VLC player!

Please, anyone have any ideas why the sites don't like WMP 11? They didn't mind 9, my old version, but I haven't got that any more :-(

Again, I'm sorry I can't give you a helpful error message but I'm not getting any myself. Just.... nothing happening.

Yours puzzledly

Chris.

When you connect your camera to the PC download and save the video to a file. Unconnect the camera from the PC. Open the 'Ms Live Photo Gallery' and try loading the vid from the file.

Hello,
I have a problem with video streaming. I can't pause any live event on video on demand, web tv or youtube if the event is live. For the recordings (which are already on the server) it works ok. But if the video is live, pause does not work (it stops when you pause it, but when play it it starts from the current video time not from the time you made a pause). Tried on firefox, google chrome - same thing. And it doesn't matter you watch on adobe flash or html5. The computer is new with original drivers from shop with windows 10 (lenovo ideapad 510-15isk model name 80sr). Tried to update video card, says it is newest. Uninstalled chrome, firefox and flash (cleaned registry, deleted folders) and installed again - still the same.

Windows Live Mail doesn't have the Source, Edit, HTML tabs like Outlook Express so it's almost impossible to embed videos into Live Mail. So, I tried a few things and found the following to work best:

One way of embedding video is using stationery (need to know a little html, =very little=) - works in Outlook, Outlook Express & Windows Live Mail (Vista & Win7).
Create a new stationery (html) using a text editor or an existing stationery html file (name the new stationery - "Embedded Video.htm" - without the quotes and save it to the Stationery folder).

WinXP Stationery folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery

Win Vista & 7 Stationery folders:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Window s Mail\Stationery
C:\Users\"username"\Documents\My Stationery

Then create a blank (white background) JPG pic file (800 x 600 pixels) - name the pic file "Embedded Video.jpg" and save to the same Stationery folder. When you need to send an embedded email just modify the new stationery you've added placing the embed code between the <BODY></BODY> tags.
Don't forget to modify the <BODY> tag with your picture info. I.E. <BODY id="ridBody" background="Embedded Video.jpg">

Example of Stationery html code below:

<HTML>
<HEAD>

Hi,

I'm trying to use the latest version on Windows Live Messenger Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.726) to make video calls. I have a working webcam and microphone setup already. The problem is that the option to start a video call is faded out, therefore meaning I can't click on it. All the different ways to start a video call are faded out, which means I can't click on it. All the setting under "Tools" -> "Set Up Audio and Video" are correct. I am running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3. I have a Microsoft Lifecam VX 1000 (includes microphone) that is working perfectly fine.

What can I do in order to get video calls in Windows Live Messenger?

Thanks in advance.

Microsoft testing ways to make Windows Live Tiles interactive

In a video, Human-Computer Interaction Group researcher Jiawei Gu demonstrates how users potentially could interact in new ways with the Live Tiles that are core to the Windows 8.X, Windows Phone, and Xbox user interfaces.

Three videos about Live Tiles were available temporarily before the Microsoft links stopped working today. However, the videos are still available on a third-party site.

Gu shows off the ability to drill down inside of a Live Tile -- rather than having to open full-screen a Metro-Style app -- to get music information and e-mails. He also shows off a new Interactive Desktop Tile that would allow users to open Desktop Office apps and, seemingly, other non-Microsoft-developed destkop/Win32 apps. Being able to interact with Desktop apps in this way could help Windows 8 users who find moving between the Desktop and Metro-Style environments less than smooth and intuitive.

Media player 11 will not play streaming video

I recently purchased a new Emachine with Vista Home Basic
pre-installed.
The problem is that Media Player refuses to play some streaming
video. It simply pops open a new window with the message "page cannot be
displayed", or keeps on searching forever.

Yet files with .WVX, .WMV and .asf always seem to work

It is the .asx files that rarely works (or sometimes open an error in the player). With Windows XP, Media Player would open and play the file. Now, with Vista, it will not.
And some .htm links cannot be displayed now when the same links opened the Media Player on XP.

any ideas?

Answer:Media player will not play streaming video

Hello again

"Yet files with .WVX, .WMV and .asf always seem to work" is only true with some pages. On other they don't work at all and only display the "page cannot be displayed".

And the .htm links are links to WMA and other files that won't stream in the media Player on some pages.

Is this a proxy-related matter? I've been tampering with proxy-settings without results.

Hi guys,

I get emails from Real all the time telling me new trailers and stuff to watch, so I clicked them and they start loading in Real Player (no. 10 btw) and when it's finished loading the audio streams perfectly, but the video is VERY slow frame rate and choppy...it doesn't stream. It only picks up like every 50th frame or something and shows that.

I have a 150kbps ISDN broaband connection (and that's what was automatically detected by realplayer as my connection) I have also tried playing around with the bandwidth settings but none of it makes a difference.

Hope someone can help. I have a 2ghz speed, pentium 4 248MB ram and the broadband connection. it should stream fine...but it seems to have trouble with the video. I have all the updated drivers.

Danny.

This may seem like a really stupid question, and the answer may way be very obvious, but I can't do it!I am trying to save the online TV5 news in French to my hard drive so I can put it on CD and use it for teaching languages. However, the videos are only in Realone format, and I can't find a way of saving them to disk! It's not hard to do but PQ might suffer?

What WebCam did you buy?

There are couple of free host sites with their free webcam software.
Or you could host cam yourself so others can join in. Is that what you want?

I need help here. Just today my live video streaming started to
stalled and connections bufferings incessantly. I watch the same
video yesterday without problems. Tried other sites same thing.
Using WMP 6.4 that comes with WINXP pro. WMP 8.0 reported
error playing same video. Like i said it was OK yersterday. So i
don't think it's a WMP problems. Here's my background programs.
Can anyone notice anything amiss.BTW i had scan for viruses,
spyware with PC Cilin, Adaware and Spybot. Could'nt find anything.

My friend and I both have XP machines and version 5.9 of AIM.
We can connect, type messages and hear eachother, but we cannot establish a video connection. The camera's green light does not come on and I cannot see myself or him. The same on his end.

I have a Logitech Notebook Pro camera.
Video works fine during AIM Video/Audio tuning, with MSN Messenger
and with other programs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

Answer:AIM Live Video Problems

I haven't used AOL Instant Messenger in a l-o-n-g time. I'm not even sure if it supports video-conferencing. You'll have better success anyway with MSN Messenger.

I can get video on my lan just great but not outside of it. Instant messaging and voice is fine - just no video. My camera works fine as I can send email video with no problem using various programs. Would it be a good idea to use a static ip and open some ports in my gateway in order to get video? My firewall is disabled and the gateway firewall is set to basic. Would DMZ help even more? Would disabling Nat be wise? I have been reading up but am not sure where to draw the line. It's not worth opening my box up to the world in order to get a video. However I did buy a webcam and would like to use it. This problem was with msn messenger only. I have since downloaded msn messenger live 8.0 but have not tried it yet. Maybe I am writing for no reason and it will work with live. However I would appreciate any thoughts on how far I should disable my defenses. Another thing I should mention is that my kids say their online gaming is working just fine and that I should not change a thing. They play D&D online and World of Warcraft. After reading up on gateways I find it amazing that they can play any game at all online. I have visited portforward.com and according to them everything you do needs a static Ip and forwarded ports. With NAT an DHCP enabled and a hardware firewall, I would think that a connection would not even take place. I wanted to use my hammer again to tweak the video but took a breadth and decided to write first. Thanks in advance for all... Read more

Ok I have XP and the AIM the most recent version 5.9.3702
My video chat has been working fine until just recently. When I click on video a window pops up saying "an upgrade is needed for AOL AIM Live video" I click OK and it downloads the RTC file then closes IM and installs it then a window comes up saying I already have file need...This now happens every time I try live video? I have uninstalled AIM and reinstalled it no change.
