Preferred Solution: How do I attach a Word doc or pdf while replying email for Gmail app on the Lumia 730?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Outlook 2010, Win7. This just started about a week ago. I can send an email to a gmail address without issue, add a small attachment and it is an immediate failure. The same mail w/attach will go to a non gmail acct without issue. Here is what I get, it is instantaneous as if it never leaves my computer.

I have 2 pc's running Win xp pro, older one is for backup and it has MS OUTLOOK 2003 email and I use MS WORD 2003 as an editor when emailing. However, this morning I got an email with live links in it BUT for the life of me I could not use the reply/forwward button as it kept crashing word, and I was sending error reports to MS.
In the end I closed down word as the editor, cut and pasted the email content and created a new email that eventually was sent. I did also enable HTML in word!!
What caused this problem as I have never ever come across this problem before??

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

Answer:Word Macro to attach doc to email, then send address email

I found a solution, but I think it is a bit bulky. It seems to work but I'd love to know if there is a simpler solution:

For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then

Wend
End If

Set oStory = Nothing

End If

Set oItem = oOutlookApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)
With oItem

.Body = "Thank you for your order"

Hello everyone!
I'm ex-user of blackberry now I've been shifted to windows phone (Lumia 520) and I find it very interesting in many ways.... Lumia 520 have exciting features and after the recent update actually I've started loving windows phones.
My question is if I receive a pdf file in email how could I save that file on my phone or sd card? And can reuse it to forward to my clients? Actually we receive a lot of pdf files (documents) in emails and we have to fwd those docs to our clients in separate email. I searched and I learned that all the pdf files or MS Office files opened over the phone will appear in pdf reading app or in office app but when I try to save those files from the email the options appears to be inactive.
Your help and suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Yousuf

i tried to attach but the net is weak enough to upload and thats why duplicate. I will write what the two boxes show:

first one: says: u cant close the Microsoft office box because a dialogue box is open. click ok, switch to word, and then close the dialogue box.

second one: says: which is behind the first box: word has encountered a problem.

and nothing worked.

I have been told that one cannot just attach your resume that is in Word to my Yahoo email. Told it isn't viewed properly. Am told there is a way to do it but can't get anyone to tell me how nor can I find where to get the info. I only know computer basics.

Thanks,

Kay

Answer:How to attach Resume in Word to Yahoo email so it is viewed correctly.

If you attach it in attachments and it will be sent by Yahoo! email.

How it would be shown depends on where you sent it and how the receiver opens email (using email clients, web mail and then what kind of web mail). In most email clients and email websites it would be shown as an attachment and wont be opened unless you click on it. While other email websites like GMail would give you an option to view it as html, view using google documents or download.

So it all depends who opens your email and how.

"Frozen" how? Are we talking about email+accounts section (settings) or the mail app?Try a Soft ResetThe soft reset is the same thing as pulling your battery (on devices where that is possible). This method will not remove anything at all from your phone and is completely safe to attempt in any problem situation. You perform the soft reset by having your phone turned on. Then press and hold the volume down + power buttons until your phone vibrates and restarts. Is there a Gmail addon or something that simplifies replying to (and quoting) an individual message in a mailing list digest where several messages with several subjects lines are consolidated into a single daily digest. I am cutting and pasting individual messages to which I want to reply into the reply box from the digest and then editing the subject line. This is quite awkwards and I know there must be a better way. Mailing lists are not exactly my strong point these days so any tips might help and would be appreciated. In gmail I have emails being forwarded from another gmail account. If the email was sent from A (random friend) to B (my other gmail account) and I click 'Reply' in account C (The gmail I currently use, where it's being imported) then automatically in the 'To' section, it shows A's email address. That's perfect. Cause obviously when I click reply I want to reply to the person who emailed me, not to my other email address.

But when I'm in gmail and I use the "Import" function to import emails from my yahoo account, when I click 'Reply' it automatically fills in the 'To' as my yahoo account. I don't want to email myself and I don't know why it handles it this way. Does anyone know why?

I wasn't sure how to put that in the subject line

I'll give an example of what I'm looking for.

I have Word2000. If I have a letter or document open (default font, which for me is Times New Roman-black) and I want to answer it, or put comments in it, in various places, but use a different font and color (to show where I've done this. It doesn't have to be different each time *I* write on it)

I can set the font/color to something else (for example Comic Sans MS- purple) and write, but then when I go down a paragraph or two, and do it again, it's back to the default again, and I have to change it all over again.

I tried changing it to what I wanted (for my response) in and setting this to default, but it changed EVERYONE to this. Said it would change everything in the template "normal" (so, maybe if I have it set for something else there, it would only change what I was writing at the time?)

I only know (in Word) what I currently use, and learn new things as I come to them (wanting to use them)

Since I think flyers and announcements, etc. can be set up on WORD, maybe there is a way to have part of it in the default (for example) and than add answers or comments in something else. And, the something else font/color would stay on as long as the document is open?

I know this can be done in Outlook Express, when answering an email (for example) with it set on Rich Text Format.

This is something I just learned, which is how I got the... Read more

I am running IE version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2. Before I installed the XP SP2 I was having this problem so I do not believe it is because of SP2. When I am in email (I use yahoo mail and outlook (not express)) and reply to a message I get the "ie has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience." It does not have an error code to look up. In yahoo I also cannot use the address book because of the same thing. In outlook anytime I close an email message it shuts down. Help!!
I need to know how I can send a survey via email to a selected list of people (about 100) and get them to respond to the survey and then to reply back to a list of people.
Can this be done with as little fuss as possible since the survey will be sent to some individuals who are not technically adept at email. They can click the reply or forward button. Most are using Eudora Light or Netscape Communicator.

Answer:Replying Email Survey

I'm not aware of anyway to do that with Outlook or Netscape. What are you trying to do? Are the receipients on the Reply all the same? Why not just address the survey to the particulare user and the persons you want the user to reply to and then have the user choose "Reply All" so that the survey Reply will be sent to all to whom it was adressed.

Good morning.Am i missing something with Hotmail? I could have sworn that when i used to reply to emails the senders text would appear underneth mine. I haven't actually sent emails using Hotmail itself for a good few months and instead used Outlook. But today when trying to do that the email i am replying to appears as a .txt attachment. How do i get the original email text to appear within the email i'm sending?Sorry if this is a dumb question, i've looked, looked and looked again and can't see what to change! Thanks

Answer:Hotmail Email - replying with history

Hi, If you sign back into hotmail, click on options towards the top right. On the left of the window that opens you'll see Mail, click on it. Go down the menu options till you reach Message replies, click on it, the first option says 'Including Original Text When Replying' tick the auto box, that should do it.Paul.

I am using ol2003 and WinXP. When I receive an email that is "plain text" and REPLY to it, the reply is often (but not always) plain text (instead of the defaults I have set for ol2003) and the font defaults to Arial MS Unicode 12. Setting the message type to HTML is easy, but the entire text block including any previous cascades has already been set to Arial MS Unicode 12, every hyperlink and image has been deleted and every "end of line" is now a separate line (the whole text block is now double spaced). Virtually every email I get that was sent from an iPhone has this problem.

I know quite a bit about ol2003 and wrote a VBA proc that I can execute to fix most of the problems when I encounter this, but that is a band aid and I would like to fix this at the source. Any suggestions re how I can fix this?

Thanks

Answer:Replying to PlainText Email using ol2003

Have you considered the possibility that the parties that send plain text messages do not want or may not be able to receive formatted messages? It may be better to reply to those people with plain text.

Hi - I found a thread here from back in 2008 (Solved: Outlook Express 6 help: reply from same address the message was sen) that said the issue was solved, but I saw nothing to help me.

The issue is, I have 4 email accounts, and I want Outlook to automatically reply using the account to which an email was sent. This always worked just fine in the past; then my computer died last weekend and I got a new one. I set up everything in Outlook again, and all was working fine - sending, receiving, etc. But suddenly I noticed that ALL my replies were going out from my default (home) email address, and not other addresses to which the email messages may have been sent (like my work email address). This is not good. I can change the "from" address in a reply manually in the dropdown menu, but I never used to have to do that.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Answer:Outlook 2007 not replying with address email is sent to

Thanks, but I'm afraid my question was misunderstood. MY REPLIES are not going out from the correct account. Here's the deal: I have a home email address that is the default. Say I get an email to my work address, and then I click reply, it suddenly changed to going back out to the message sender from my HOME address. It never used to do this; replies would go out from the address at which they were received. Where can I make it do that once again - anyone know? Thanks.

I am having an interesting issue that surfaced recently. Over the last 2 months, I have a small network of users that are reporting that their Outlook 2000 is freezing whenever they reply or forward emails received with a yahoo email address. This is not happening everytime, but is specific to Yahoo emails. I have noticed myself that when I am on yahoo pages on the internet that at times my browser will appear to freeze but then will release itself shortly (20-30 seconds) afterward. I know that Yahoo is notorious for Avenue.A adware pushes and I have Spybot Immunization turned on as I have for about the last 6 months on all of these machines. Is it possibly for Yahoo to be pushing spyware/adware through email messages and by replying the machines are not responding because spybot is unable to block and proceed with the load of the message as it's in a large PST file?

HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS and/or solved this problem? Any advice is extremely appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
-Tim

BackGROUND INFO:

Hello Everyone, we have a user who is experencing something very unusual with her mailbox account.

Apparently, when she sends email to certain people (people outside of our domain), and when the recipent tries sending back a reply message to her, she does not receieve the reply email.

I then asked her to CC me on her email, and have the replier of the email to "REPLAY ALL" when sending his/her reply back to our user, to see if at least I was receiving the reply.

As it stands, I am able to recieve the reply email, however our user (who iniated the email) does not recieve the reply (so for the time being I am forwarding these replies over to our user, which she recieves).

I have checked her mailbox options, she is below her mailbox limit (limit = 200 mb, currently at 128 mb), I have also increased her ability to send and recieve attachments up from 8 mb, to 15 mb.

Even with all of these changes she cannot recieve a reply back for her email.

I will try setting her email up with personal folders, to reduce her mailbox size, as well as deleting her email profile on her computer, and then re-creating it to see if it makes any difference.

I welcome all input/suggestions, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated on this matter, thanx again all!!

Outlook email client has a very useful feature where you can 'attach item' which can be another email to the one you are sending . This can be very useful when you want to refer to this email in the new one.
Thunderbird, as far as I can see, does not have this feature.
I know it can be done byopening the email , select all , copy and paste but that is time consuming.
Does anyone know of any addon or other way which can achieve this ?
Thx,
-keevill-

Need some help here. I'm using a Compaq Evo1000c older laptop running MSXP. When writing an email and want to send an article from the Internet Express side, how do I attach it to the email??

Answer:How to attach something to an email??

Hiya

I take it you are using Outlook Express. There is a paper clip that when yoy place the mouse over it it says Attachment. Then you browse in your computer for it.

If its a Web page, you can do the same if its downloaded or you can type in the URL in the body of the message.

I want to attach a file I did from Word to OEx, which I use.
When I try to attach it, MS tries to download Outlook, set that program up, and attach the Word file. I do not want to use Outlook.
I tried to change where I save my Word file, but nothing I have done will get it save anywhere but Word.
Could anyone tell me how to get the file attached to an OEx email I want to send, and/or how to save the file somewhere besides MS Word?

Thank you

I am trying to attach an xml file to a Microsoft Word document.
I would normally attach a file by selecting Insert > Object, then browsing to the file I want to attach. This works in that it attaches the file I want but when I double click the icon that is created, Internet Explorer opens up and says it cannot display the webpage. The xml file I am trying to attach and open is a chat log from Messenger Live.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this keeps happening?

By the way, im aware that the xml chat log references an xsl file, I have removed this reference so at the very least when I click the attachment it should open Internet Explorer and display the file unformatted.

Thank you in advance.

Using Outlook Express 6 in Windows XP SP2, when I try to attach a digital photo file to an email, it attaches in the full size (full number of KB), which is too large--takes too long to send and receive and won't fit on a page. When I open the picture in MyPictures (in Word 2002) and click on "send this by email", a form to send an email pops up. I can enter an address and a message, but there is no way to send that email. I know there is a way to do this because of pictures I have received, but I can't find it. Thank you for the help.

Answer:How to attach a Notepad doc to an email

As best I know "all" email utilities (on-line - pop3 - email application, and MS Office\Outlook & Express) allow you to attach a file or folder.Which email application are you actually using? When you create your Notepad document you simply save it, and remember where you put it. That is the location where you go to when attaching the file. You may not have notepad installed, possibly you have wordpad instead? Both create text files (txt) so either would do.To start either application, go to Start\run and then type notepad or wordpad and press enter. If you don't have either installed they can be downloaded for free.

Yes. If you have a program such as Winzip, you can right click on a Folder and zip it. You can then attach the compressed(zipped) folder.

If you are using OE then type the sentence the way you wish it to read and then highlight the word you want to appear as a hyperlink. Once highlighted select the insert tab up top of the E-mail and select Hyperlink. Type your URL in there and click OK.
There are other options such as Mailto and so on.

Referred from here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic413843.html ~ OBHi everyone!I originally posted in the Vista forum but was recommended to post here. here's what I've said so far: When trying to save a file in word, as soon as the box opens up showing the navigation folder, word crashes with the "Microsoft Office Word has stopped working". In Firefox, when I click a picture and try to save, it does not crash when the folder navigation pops up -- but if I try to change the folder, thats when it will crash. Also, sometimes, when attaching files, like in gmail or this forum, it will crash as well.I feel I should note, I recently had the google redirect virus three times...I guess it never fully cleared. In my attempts to clear this I made quite a few changes and this last time I ran combofix. I should note, though, that this problem was prior to running combofix.I have been working on this for a week straight to no avail. I have tried so many things I'm not sure I can remember them all, but here are some. I used the Microsoft Fix-it Solution Center and ran "Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically" and "Fix Windows system performance problems on slow Windows computers". No fix.I ran windows startup recovery. I do not have the Vista discs as they never came w/ my computer and when the BBY Geeksquad "optimized" my computer they messed up the gateway built-in recovery. I never had it fix... Read more

sry if this is in the wrong spot, wasn't sure where to put ti lol but some friends of mine have their own business and once in a while they have computer issues and ask me to help out if I can. So they asked me an access question and I really couldn't help them out... I'll do my best here to explain it but Iv never used access so obviously I don't know much about it lol but here goes, you open access and within access they open a file which opens, what seems like another program where they can see and search for their invoices from customers and that sorta thing. Now their question is when they have an invoice open how can they attach that invoice to an email and send it to a customer? I can't even figure out where these invoices are being saved to... prolly seems like a dumb question but like i said I'v never used access so yea lol any help would be great

Answer:how do I attach access files to an email?

Get a PDF printer like CutePDF or PrimoPDF and have them print the invoice to PDF. When those programs are installed they basically include a PostScript PDF printer which creates a PDF file. Then they just attach that PDF to their email and send it.

Hi-- I recently received an e-mail with an image (painting) not "attached" (hidden) but rather inserted and viewable with the text. I asked sender how this was done and was told to "right click the mouse in the body of the email, one of the options is 'insert a picture.' " I tried this and an insert option did not appear.

If I could accomplish this insertion it would be an extremely eye-catching and useful tool (I'm an artist) in communication with very busy recipients, who wouldn't have to open an attachment. Does anyone have a clue as to how to achieve this? Thanks, folks

In Outlook Express, click insert, picture, browse to the pic you want and it will appear in the body of the text wherever the cursor was before you clicked insert.

Hello.

Running Win XP Home Edition. Three year old PC. Cable modem. Never encountered this problem before: I can attach .doc or .xls files to any email and send it - no problem. But if I attach .jpg or .mp3 files - anything big - I lose my internet connection until it resolves itself within the usual 30 seconds-or-so. I used to be able to send I think up to 10 megs at a time worth of .mp3's from my Yahoo webmail account in a single email, never had a problem - until this started up. Mind you this started happening about the same time I installed an internet filter on my PC - I'm not sure, this was months ago, and I did notice the problem starting some months ago - a coincidence?

I disabled the filter - still had the problem. I deleted the filter - rebooted and everything: still have the problem. I checked with my ISP - the guy said they could help me if this were a problem arising from use of THEIR email account, but they didn't know of a problem with other webmail accounts. Check with Yahoo, he said. Asking Yahoo anything is like throwing a bottle out to sea with a message in it. Yes, I tried it too. What else can I tell you... running the Windows firewall? That can't be it. Norton Antivirus - hell I'm about to start looking at Active Desktop functions... Help!

Thanks.

Answer:Can't attach large files to email

I forgot to mention that even trying to send an email (with "large" attachment) via a service site like yousendit.com, that still doesn't work - lose the internet connection as well. Therefore the problem seems to be in the uploading part. Thanks.

Hi guys,

I am finding it difficult attaching office documents and pdf's in my email. when i attach them, it comes up with errors meaning that the data is unreadable. I upgraded to office 2002 not too long ago and i don't know if this started the problem. I reinstalled offce 98 and the problem still persists. I installed Norton antivirus and Mcafee and have removed the option that allows for documents to be scanned b4 opening.

Whenever i open a document (word, excel, powerpoint and access) it says "requesting virus scan" which means that somehow its scanning the documents making them unreadable when sent via email. this never use to happen. Is there anyway of fixing this problem via the registry or something?

all help would be appreciated.

I can no longer attach files (of any size or type) to outgoing web-based emails. I have tried attaching various files in Yahoo Mail and Gmail. Both give me a "working" or "scanning and attaching" message and either time out entirely or never get past the attaching screen. I have not recently installed any software or updates, though Windows did download a new "Definition Update for Windows Defender" recently.

I tried uninstalling AVG 8.0 but this did not work. Since uninstalling AVG I have no other anti-spyware running aside from Windows Defender. I tried clearing all cookies, temp files, etc and resetting my browser to a lower security setting. Nothing works. I get the exact same problem in Firefox 3.0.5 as well as IE 7. I have added Gmail as well as Yahoo Mail as exceptions to the pop-up blocker.

I am running Vista Home Premium 64-bit on an Acer PC. I have no problem downloading attachments from emails I receive however. Please help as I must be able to email attachments for work.

Answer:Suddenly Cannot Attach Files to Email

Have you tried getting your anti-virus up then disabling windows defender temporarily (anti virus up for protection reasons) then try attatching something to an e-mail. If it works then you should try to either keep the defender down, with some other form of protection, or you should just try to troubleshoot the defender.

When using IE and I want to attach a file or photo within a folder to an email, a few of "MY Documents" folders don't show up when I click "attach" and the IE box opens for downloads showing all my folders in "MY Documents" or "My Pictures." All the folders are there when I use my computer for Office or Windows Photo Gallery. I downloaded another browser and tried it. That works fine but I like IE and don't want to switch. Right now to attach most photos or a file to an email, I have to save it to my desktop so I can get to it to attach to an email. It's only certain folders not showing to try and download/attach from "My Pictures" and "My Documents." I've tried everything I know and have read on Tips for solving....IE. I very novice about computers! Hope someone can help. I can't figure out how to make a screen shot of the browser window that opens when you try to attach a file so I hope my explanation is enough.

Hi,

Suddenly I cannot attach pictures to email using Windows Picture & Fax Viewer, Paint Shop Pro or any other program. At first I thought it was Windows P & F Viewer's fault, but when I tried to send an image using the "Send Mail" option in PSP too, I realized it is a general problem. Windows P & F Viewer does open the resizing box, but after that, nothing happens.

I posted my problem in a Microsoft Group where I was helped, but no solution could be found.

When I tried sending a picture using Windows P & F Viewer using Netscape as default, I got this error message:

"Command Line Usage is Incorrect"

Even using the "E-Mail Page" option in IE does nothing. It's like suddenly the option of attaching anything to an email has disappeared from my system.

I sure hope someone has had this problem here and can help. I have a new grandson and really love the option of resizing before sending of Windows P & F Viewer.

Help!!

Thank you,

Glo
I even performed a Repair install of XP and no go.

Answer:Can't attach files to email with any program in XP

You can just drag and drop the pics you want to email into your message. Also you can right click the files and select "send to" and "mail recipient"

After I open the new window to attach a file, then click the 'date', it can't sort the file at all. If the fold has a lot of files, I couldn't find the newest one. This is very inconvenient. But in windows 10 explore, it works. How to fix this?

Answer:New window to Attach a file to email

Hi, for someone to answer this, could you please state your starting point:
a. how are you accessing your email - an email client (program) - which one? - a browser?
b. suggest you post a screenshot (use the icon to the left of the video icon above your post).

Meanwhile, assuming you're looking at an open/save dialogue, you may be able to change the view, and sort by date/size etc

Thanks!

I saved a file to my desktop/documents folder. When writing an email, I clicked on the paperclip (attach file) icon and it brought up the drop down menu of everything. When I clicked on the documents folder and then searched for that same file it didn't appear. It still appears on the desktop folder though.
So, how can I ensure whatever I save gets saved everywhere or is findable when I try to use email attachment?

The "browse" button does not open for me to search and install photos or files to my emails. I also can no longer right click and save photos. Both problems began at the same time. I have been able to attach the same photos prior to this happening. I have cleared the cache but this hasn't helped. I asked Yahoo for assistance but they are unable to offer any suggestions. Would appreciate any advice .
Thanks
