My T500 has bluetooth and firewire but nothing is even seen in the device manager. I was hoping to resurect bluetooth so i can use my phone and other devices with this machine more effectively. I believe the BT 2.1 EDR is Intel's but I have not found any driver or software to enable it

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since doing a clean install of Windows 7 on the W520; there have been a few curious issues with the Lenovo drivers. Firstly, the FireWire controller quite simply doesn't show up.  Doing a tweak to Device Manager shows that the computer knows that the device is there, that it has seen it at some point, but that the device "isn't connected" (a code 45). There don't seem to be any drivers for the device itself in the driver matrix. Is there really a problem, or is this just by design?  Does the controller not show up unless you have a device connected (I don't have one to test with) like the SD reader does? EDIT:  The device just seems to show up by itself.  Don't know if that's going to be persistent across reboots, though.  Secondly, there seems to be a conflict between the Intel and Lenovo (Broadcom) drivers for control of the Bluetooth software. Installing the Lenovo drivers first yields working Bluetooth (it has in the past).  But, after installing the Intel drivers (for the wireless card, an Ultimate-N 6300), it no longer works. If I try to install the Bluetooth drivers after I've installed the wireless card, the machine claims that there is no Bluetooth device present. It seems that (in the Intel installation) I can't deselect a certain option that seems to over-ride what the Lenovo drivers are supposed to accomplish, and that quashes all attempts to start the BT radio (the tray application won't start).Any ideas?

Answer:T500: add bluetooth

takedown,

This question has come up before in other threads.  Basically, the bluetooth card for the T500 is located behind the LCD bezel.  Any parts concerning the LCD are not replaceable by customers.

So if you order your system without bluetooth, the best route is a peripheral solution (like you already have).  Having a licensed servicer install this part would be expensive.

Is the LED behind the bluetooth icon on the T500 panel permanently on?  In both XP and Win 7, I've never had bluetooth running in the background -- I've disabled the service.  I'll enable it should I ever need it.  For now it's just a battery drain. So what's the story on this light?  Does this mean that bluetooth is still running somehow?  If bluetooth is going to suck power regardless of my OS settings, I don't much see the point of this light -- it's always on anyway, so what does the light tell me exactly? Maybe my light is stuck?

Answer:T500 Bluetooth light always on

Disabling the driver doesn't disable power to the hardware.  Turn the hardware switch off on the front of the system and see if the light stays on.  If it does, contact Lenovo.fakelogin wrote:Is the LED behind the bluetooth icon on the T500 panel permanently on?  In both XP and Win 7, I've never had bluetooth running in the background -- I've disabled the service.  I'll enable it should I ever need it.  For now it's just a battery drain. So what's the story on this light?  Does this mean that bluetooth is still running somehow?  If bluetooth is going to suck power regardless of my OS settings, I don't much see the point of this light -- it's always on anyway, so what does the light tell me exactly? Maybe my light is stuck?

I have upgraded my T500 to windows 7 (for the G2 Intel SSD. Where's my TRIM damnit!) and I am trying to get my AD2P Bluetooth headset to talk to the laptop. The can pair but continually complain there is no driver for the Bluetooth peripheral device. I have the latest Thinkpad Bluetooth stack installed. Is there some way to fool the Broadcom drivers into letting me install the official stack? Is there some beta stack out there? This doesn't seem to be a Windows 7 issue, the pairing occurs, and I'm using the same driver the Vista people use. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Peter Berbec

Answer:T500 AD2P Bluetooth Woes

What do you mean by "Thinkpad Bluetooth stack installed"?is "stack" the same as software/driver? I can only witness my own problem: bluetooth installed correcty but didn't work properly. My laser bluetooth connection would often drop (although the mouse was always displayed in the device manager) and I always had to turn the bluetooth off and and on to make it work, which became irritating after a couple of weeks. I finally found out that I had the wrong driver version installed: If you look in the device manager, you will see that you probably have driver version 6.2.0.9000 for the bluetooth device.unfortunately this is not good enough after the xxxx9000 there are more numbers (which are not displayed).I realized there are 2 drivers version out there. the one that windows 7 installed and the one provided by Lenovo. The one provided by Microsoft has version 6.2.0.9000.300 I believe. the one provided by lenovo is 6.2.0.9000.000I uninstalled the most recent version xxxxxx.300 and put back the one from lenovo website.again, I can't remember if is was xxxxxx.300 but it was higher than xxxxx.000Since then my mouse works consistently

My T500 running Win 7 Ultimate 64 cannot connect to any bluetooth device.  Tried both Motorola H300 headset and Microsoft Mobile 6000 keyboard.  Both work with other computers. Yes, I have installed all currecnt Lenovo drivers.  ThinkPad Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate version 6.3.5.430 and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator appear in Windows Device Manager and show working correctly. Yes, I have verified the bluetooth radio is on.  LED indicator is on.  FN+F5 menu shows bluetooth is on.  I have a bluetooth icon in the system tray. There are no warnings in the device manager. I can go to "Add a device" and Windows says it is searching but none are found. I even tried using a Belkin USB bluetooth dongle that will connect the keyboard to another computer and no devices are found by the Thinkpad. Appears that bluetooth is being blocked somehow.  I have completely dissabled Symantec Endpoint and Windows firewall. I realize that there are a mulittude of threads on this and other forums about bluetooth not working.  I have read and tried every solution previously listed with no success.  Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi guys, I recently had to replace HDD and install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on my laptop, and when it came to re-downloading drivers, I encountered a few problems. First being, the bluetooth. When I was installing the 'Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software' I kept getting an error: "Bluetooth SoftwareNo Bluetooth device was detected. Please make sure that your Bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation."  Which is strange because when I inserted my previous hard drive, my bluetooth was working flawlessly. I even tried installing the same software from the same HDD onto other HDD, yet the problem persisted. The light on the panel is not lighting up. Another problem is with the Function keys. I downloaded and installed 4 different versions of  'Hotkey Features Integration' software, and I'm still not getting any feedback when using the volume keys, ThinkVantage button, Fn+F2, or any other one. I rebooted the computer multiple times, reinstalled the software multiple times, and even looked in CMOS settings as to 'what could be wrong'.  Thank you in advance.

Answer:T500 Bluetooth and Function keys

As soon as I posted this, I frantically started hitting various Fn keys. After I pressed Fn+F8, the touchpad settings window popped up, a balloon saying "New hardware detected" and Bluetooth started installing, and when I clicked Fn+F5, the settings window came to life. I really don't know the cause of this, but I think something was stalling the system for 2 days straight. I don't know what the solution is, but if anyone will experience this in the future, please try hitting every single key on the F1-F12 row while holding Fn.  Regards, Ruslan.

Hi, I'm having some difficulty in getting my bluetooth headset to work with Skype (or anything else for that matter). here's the current state of things: My headset is set up and paired as a "hands free audio device". In "my bluetooth places" it shows up with a good signal strength. Authorization is set to "headset" only (no audio gateway). The version of the Broadcom Bluetooth Software is 5.5.0.580  . Looks pretty ok - but unfortunately it shows neither up as an  audio device in the control panel (Win XP SP3) - nor does Skype recognize the headset. Maybe I'm overlooking something fundamental...? Any input would be appreciated. Thomas PS.: The headset works fine on my cellphone. And I can synchronize the cellphone with the laptop via Bluetooth, no problems there.Message Edited by ThBa on 03-15-2009 05:43 PM

I've been looking at the threads over in the R Thinkpads & SL Thinkpads forums for solutions to do with Nokia's & Activesync with TP BT as I have some users with Nokias. What I wasn't expecting was to run into the same problems with my Treo 750 on WinMobile v6 - it connects just fine on USB cable, syncs all my stuff but simply will not talk to the Treo on BT. I nuked the Treo & rebuilt - same result. I removed BT Enhanced II software, deleted the BT device from Network in Device Manager, tried to use the MS BT drivers (failed) tried to run an Update Drivers by Scanning for new devices then pointing it to the folder with the w32 drivers, edited the Bth.inf file with the id's from the BT in device manager... One thing I noticed was the on reinstall of the BT software, the BT device manager entry moved from Network Adapters into a Bluetooth Devices folder in Device Manager. And now, instead of just the BT adapter showing, I have Bluetooth Bus Enumerator AND Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate II Any ideas on how to get this working? Seeing as I am getting the same result with a Palm device as the Nokia, I am thinking this is an incompatability between Activesync & Widcomm BT stack rather than anything phone related. Any suggestions for a way to connect phones for Outlook sync without using Activesync? As Vista SP2 will include bluetooth 2.1 support, will there still be any point of installing the Lenovo driver? Do they offer any advantage over the micosoft drivers? Regarding the WLAN drivers, I see there are more recent drivers on the Intel website, but won't there be any problems if I use these? On their website intel mentions that you might want to use the laptop manufacturers drivers. Does it make any sense, speed-wise, not to install drivers for devices you usually never use (e.g. internal modem, card reader)? Thanks

Hello, I've read several posts about this, but none of them solved my problem. I have a T500 2055-RH2, with windows 7 64bits. I just bought a bluetooth mouse online and imagine how I feel after 3 hours of useless debugging to install a mouse. Actually, my problem is more basic, I just can't seem to have bluetooth working. I tried to install: Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows 7, Vista - ThinkPad  When I do install this, it eventually says I have no bluetooth device, so somehow my bluetooth adapter is NOT enabled. I then tried to do Fn-F5 to enable it, but it's no use, because I can only see my WIFI in there, no trace of bluetooth... From the forum, I tried to install: ThinkPad Power Management driver for Windows 7 I think it was already installed, but I installed it anyway, still no change, nothing in Fn-F5, still nothing. I then even installed a WIDCOMM (broadcom) driver, but then again, it says it can't find any bluetooth device. Are there any depencies I don't know about? Should I reinstall anything? What the HELL is wrong?! How hard is it supposed to be to install such a basic function as bluetooth??! Should I throw that laptop out the window? Because I really want to... (arg!)  Help please...! Thanks...

Hi everyone, I am a new T500 2081 user.  I did a Windows 7 pro x64 clean install and was able to install all the ThinkVantage software including the hotkey driver, so I can use Fn+F5 to activate the Bluetooth.  The problem is everytime I restart my T500 the Bluetooth is off by default.  I have to press Fn+F5 to activate it again and again.  I am getting a Thinkpad Bluetooth laser mouse and it will be a pain if I have to activate my mouse every time the computer is restarted. When I boot my computer in Ubuntu 9.10 on another partition of the hard drive the Bluetooth is always on, so I guess the issue in Windows 7 is a software setting one.  Any idea how to fix it?  Thank you!!!

Greetings, I have my system configured to use the Intel Integrated graphics (set to internal in the bios to save power) and I am experiencing the following graphical problems.  I am running the latest bios and display driver from Lenovo, as provided by ThinkVantage System Update.  Details of the drivers are in the directx diagnostics below.  I have tried to install the latest Intel graphics driver from Intel's website for this chipset, but it says that my system is not supported (possibly something to do with ATI's Hybrid Graphics). This does not occur in OpenSUSE 11.2 (even with the 3D Gnome desktop), but it does in Windows x64 with Aero.  It usually occurs after watching SlingBox or NetFlix Instant View, but it has occurred in the past without those activities.  It has not occurred when using the ATI graphics adapter (set to dedicated in the bios), at least from the limited amount that I have made use of it. Model:  20828zu DirectX Diagnostics (full system / driver specs):http://home.comcast.net/~quako33/MISC/DxDiag.txt Screenshots of the problem:http://home.comcast.net/~quako33/Images/gpu_problem1.pnghttp://home.comcast.net/~quako33/Images/gpu_problem3.png Any ideas on how to resolve this without having to switch over to the ATI graphics adapter will be appreciated. Finally... the bluetooth question... any keystroke to disable only the bluetooth?  When I hit fn+f5, it disables the wifi and the bluet... Answer:T500 Intel Graphics Anomalies with a side of BlueTooth

It's a bug in the drivers. If you have 2+1GB or 2+4GB of RAM memory this will occur. Did you try to disable Aero? It might help. From what I understand the only way to fix this issue is to buy another 2GB module (2+2GB), or wait until a new graphics driver is released. Regarding the Bluetooth;Make sure you have Lenovo Hotkey Installed (If you have ran Lenovo System Update you probably have this installed).Navigate to "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY" and open "TpFnF5.exe" and hit the "Settings for Fn + F5" button. I must admit I didn't really get if you had the Fn + F5 issues in Windows or OpenSUSE, but the behavior for Fn + F5 under Ubuntu 9.10 is:WLAN/BT/OFF toggle (Fn+F5 press once: Wlan and BT off/Press second time: BT off, Wlan on/Third time: BT on, Wlan off/Press another time: BT and Wlan on)If that is of any help to you.

Greetings!  I've been banging my head against this for awhile now.  My company had a customized T500 last year with a Lenovo wireless card in it, and now we've switched to an off-the-shelf model with the Intel card.  Suddenly, we cannot print consistently to Bluetooth printers. I say "consistently" because it *will* print, but only 1 job.  Then you have to power off/on the printer to print another job, rinse and repeat.  The only thing that seems to stand out as the culprit is when I go to Enable the Bluetooth Printer Service, it tells me "Unable to start the Bluetooth printer service.  Verify the local printer is physically connected to this computer by a USB or parellel cable, is set as the default print, and is turned on." This same printer (HP Officejet 470) will work just fine on our older T500's, along with other even older T42 models.  Also, the printer works great when on a USB cable -- it's just the Bluetooth that gives us problems.  All the other Bluetooth services appear to be enabled OK -- it's the Printer Service that has an error. One thing:  the Bluetooth printing works fine in the factory Windows Vista installation.  But we run a customized Windows XP sp2 load.  However, I've tried updating all the drivers I can think of and installing the full HP software suite, all to no avail.  And I evidently appear to be the only person this has ever happened to, because there is nothing via Google... Hi,For quite some time now I've been having problems with Bluetooth (BT) devices on my T500 Win7 64 bit with devicesranging from like my older Nokia C2-01 mobile phone to my new UE ROLL 360 wireless speakers. at this stage the BTicon appeared correctly upon startup and in the device manager there where no errors, whereas the BT devices wereidentified as:a. Thinkpad bluetooth with Enhanced Date Rate IIb. Microsoft Bluetooth data EnumeratorSo from googling I figured all those BT problems might be caused by improper driver installations of BT relateddevices, which led to the use of the Microsoft enumerator instead of the actual needed devices. So I uninstalled it specifically, and was left with an unknown device, with the detail value of:BTH\MS_BTHBRBFrom here on everything only got worse :-(I've reckoned that in order to fix this I should just downloaded the latest official Lenovo driver from:http://support.lenovo.com/il/en/downloads/ds013631 (Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II released21/2/2014).After installation (and required reboot), I was now stuck with an unknown device, with the following 2 details valuestrings:USB\VID_0A5c&PID_2145&REV_0352USB\VID_0A5c&PID_2145From googling this I've realized it's related to the Broadcom Bluetooth driver. So I've downloaded the latest official Broadcom Bluetooth driver from:https://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth (WIDCOMM® Bluetooth Windows® Software for Windows 7 and Vista, 64-Bitreleased 04/08/2016).After thi... hi all,

I'm really hoping someone can read this post and help a little bit.  Let me start with this, at this point, I know I'm screwed so I'm just looking for some help on why this might have happened.  A little background, my T500 has been flawless, and I love it too death.  I work with hundreds of people that swear by Mac's and I say how much I love my Lenovo everyday.  But regardless, I don't think it's a Lenovo issue.

So I have a T500 with 8GB memory, Kingston SSD, Windows 7 64bit.  Symantec antivirus updated, Windows defender malware tools.  No viruses anywhere.

Everything's been great till about a week ago.  At that time, several windows updates and updates from Lenovo's site were installed.  Including a windows update that's supposed to help the boot up speed of computers with and eSata port that's not in use.

Anyway, everything has been pretty good except two things.  I kept getting an error every boot up that the bluetooth stack service couldn't start.  Second, every time the computer would wake up from hibernation, I would get a blue screen on the device driver ianvstor.sys.

So today I decided to fix these issues... Huge mistake!!!

I started by fixing the ianvstor.sys issue.  Posts all over the web say to update the Intel Turbo Memory drivers.  So I downloaded the latest one from the Lenovo site and installed it.  This went fine.  I postponed the reboot an... Read more

(I know this first hand; I wrote an installer/uninstaller myself in VB6 that did the exact thing to my drive. Fortunately, I was dual-booting and recovered all of my files using the other partition.)I think it stopped booting because a few key driver files were wiped out. After trying to recover your files, try an offline SFC pass like so:http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/run-sfc-offline-windows-7-vista/Not sure if it'll pick up on missing files, but it will replace modified files.Chances are, a fair bit of files were wiped.

Hello, I have a Lenovo T500, which came preinstalled with Windows Vista Business. All the hardware components were working perfectly. I took advantage of the Windows 8 upgrade offer from Microsoft and performed an installation. Windows 8 automatically installed most drivers by itself, but there are three entries in the device manager that are not working:  The hardware IDs for the devices that are missing are as follows: First Base System Device:PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_20CA17AA&REV_11PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_20CA17AAPCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_088000PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&CC_0880Second Base System Device:PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_20C917AA&REV_11PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_20C917AAPCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880PCI Simple Communications Controller:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&SUBSYS_20E617AA&REV_07PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&SUBSYS_20E617AAPCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&CC_078000PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A44&CC_0780http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-70443 only has support up to Windows 7. Please let me know how to identify what these devices are and also, where do I find drivers? Thank you.

Answer:Lenovo T500 bluetooth and other base system devices not working after upgrading to Windows 8

Good day.

While I have no information about availability of Windows 8 drivers, searching at: http://www.pcidatabase.com/index.php yields the data below on your three problematic devices. There are some reports of Windows 7 drivers working in Windows 8, but I can't confirm personally.

Device Id  Chip Description                   Vendor Id  Vendor Name0x0592     Rioh Memory Stick Controller       0x1180     Ricoh0x0843     Ricoh SD/Host Controller           0x1180     Ricoh0x2A44     Intel Management Engine Interface  0x8086     Intel Corporation

Hopefully, this info will help a bit.

Hello all,

I am wondering if there exists such a converter that would allow me to plug in USB devices and convert the transmission so that my working FireWire port could pick it up? My USB ports are damaged but the FireWire port still works. I have a MacBook pro that is a year and a half old. Thank you so much for your help and your time.
-rm

Answer:USB ports damaged, FireWire works--USB to FireWire conversion possible?

No.

And I'm not familiar with Macs, but even with a PC laptop, the only fix would be to have it serviced. In most cases, it is often more cost efficient to simply replace it.

I have an 8 month old Maxtor Turbo 3, 1 TB drive. I consists of two 500 GB drives sandwiched together. When I first bought the drive I purchased a Texas Instruments TSB82AA2 1394B OHCI 1.1+ Compliant Link-Layer Firewire 800/400 Controller My HP Media Center Computer also comes with a single Firewire 400 port. All these firewire ports work. I have tested them with other devices. The firewire 400 connection on the Turbo 3 drive works because I have managed to connect the drive to another computer. I have read about a possible solution in Microsoft's Knowledge base - Article # 885464, "SBP-2 drive stops responding when you try to write data in Windows XP." I contacted Microslop about receiving the fix from them but they refused to send it to me. If any one know of any other solutions to this problem or where I can get this fix, please let me know.

Thanks.

My T500 is currently being used as a desktop replacement.   So it is plugged into an AC outlet all the time. My question is how to best preserve the battery life and capacity of a 9-cell..  Detach the battery, will the AC power it while battery is detached? It would be slightly more convenient to leave the battery attached... Is the laptop powered solely by the AC while plugged in, so the battery's life would not be affected? Any other ideas?

Answer:T500- how to best preserve battery life/capacity when T500 is always plugged to AC

i've heard detaching it helps a lot since it reduces a lot of the heat. also i've heard of people detaching it and storing it in the refrigerator but honestly i don't think thats necessary. just keep the battery charged about...i believe it is 50 percent...and in a cool area.  there is an excellent article on batteries somewhere, i'll have to search for it later

Hello all - Does anybody know why I cannot connect my Minolta film scanner to my PC using the Firewire connection on a PCI card. I am running Win 98SE. Minolta say that I must use the USB connection and can only use Firewire if I am using Win XP and Firewire is running from the mobo. I am not doubting that they are right, I just wondered why. Many thanksNorman

Answer:Firewire on PCI card different to Firewire on mobo

I haven't used a Firewire port but I would suspect that it will not be compatible with 98, though someone may know different. However, I fail to see that it would matter whether the port were onboard or a PCI Card.

Hello, through "Lenovo Update & Drivers" utility i installed ThinkPad update "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" which is bluetooth solution by BROADCOM corp which has much better user interface and detailed settings than implemented Microsoft W7 bluetooth solution named "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". The problem is that after installation of this update on my Windows 7 there is still functional this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". I tried to disable it in "Device Manager" but after several restart of my computer nothing happened and this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" is still active. It seems that this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" came probably with some Windows actualization. The "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" is installed on my computer successfuly - i can see it in Programs. And "Device Manager" says that this service also works OK. Can anybody help me to get rid off MICROSOFT/Windows7 bluetooth solution ("MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator"), please? Do you know how to COMPLETELY uninstall this?I want use on my computer original LENOVO ThinkPad bluetooth by BROADCOM. Thank you for your notes and help.Xs

Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hi all: I recently purchased a second-hand X61 Tablet. It shipped with Windows Vista and still has about 75 days left in the warranty.I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it, but now I cannot connect to my Nokia cellphone. With Vista, I could connect to it very easily. But in Windows7, I go to "Add a device" and it just keep searching for a device without showing my cellphone. I have done extensive googling/binging and the following are the things I have tried: - Both Bluetooth services are up and running and set to automatic- My cellphone is set to bluetooth ON and radio discoverable- My cellphone can see the computer. But cannot pair with it.- I have installed various bluetooth stacks so now the 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device" driver not found error, is not an issue. I am at a wits end with this problem. I am actually debating going back to Vista.Anyone here who can help me with my misery?

Hello, I own two Thinkpad T61 laptops - one with an integrated bluetooth card and the other without. I swapped lcd panels in order to have bluetooth capabilities on the machine I use the most (which happened to be the one that did not come with integrated bluetooth ), but after swapping out the hardware the system will not recognize the bluetooth daughter card inside the newly-installed lcd assembly.  The two models in question are 7661-E17 and 7659-CTO.  The 7661-E17 is the machine that originally did not have a bluetooth card, and which now has the lcd panel from the 7659-CTO machine.  I figured replacing the lcd panels would be much easier then opening up the lcd asembly and installing a bluetooth daughter card - was I wrong?  Everything else works perfectly in both systems, so I'm confident I didn't damage anything while replacing the parts.  What could be causing the problem?  Could it be that the 7661-E17 simply does not support the Bluetooth card in the LCD from the 7659-CTO machine?  I looked on the lenovo website but coudln't find any definite answers.. Thank you in advance for any help!  I really want the 7661-E17 machine to have integrated bluetooth capabilities!  I'm running Vista in both machines, and had no problem using the bluetooth card when it was installed in the 7659-CTO.

The bluetooth device needs to be enabled via the Fn+F5 hotkey. Then you can install the bluetooth driver. Note: The ThinkVantage Power Manager must be installed in order to use Fn+F5 hotkey.

Go to Settings -> Device hub (located at the bottom of the list)
Once the Hub is up and running you can pin it to the Start screen. In the Hub you can rename your BT devices as you please once you have connected them and the Hub recognises them.

On the thinkpad, the bluetooth device is present and "working properly".  The wireless switch on the front of the machine is on (green light).  When I click on the bluetooth icon in control panel, the cellphone is not listed.  When I go through the menus on the cellphone, it tells me no bluetooth devices have been found, so it seems like the cellphone bluetooth is working.  It appears that the thinkpad bluetooth is not working; do I need a bluetooth adapter as well as my bluetooth device (RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE1394 Host Controller)?  When I check the drivers, there are 2 - a windows one (1394bus.sys) and another (ohci1394.sys).  Is it possible that the former driver is being used when the correct one is the latter?  How would I make sure the correct driver is being used for this device?

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

I bought this computer about a year and a half ago. Specs are as follows

Asus M51BC

Windows 8 (upgraded to 8.1)

8 GB RAM

AMD FX 8300 processor

GTX 650 (upgraded to GTX 760)

1 TB HDD (added 128 GB SSD and 256 SSD)

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 as soon as I turned it on so I didn't get a chance to see if bluetooth was working with Windows 8. I tried to pair my phone but it didn't work. I looked all over the internet but nothing worked. One thing I did notice was that Windows 8.1 had quite a few problems with bluetooth. So after a week of trying to get it to work I gave up. Just got a Razor Orochi which is a bluetooth mouse so I started looking around for answers again. Tried MANY new things but still no answers so I went and bought a StarTech USB to Bluetooth version 4.0 adapter - 10m class 2. Broadcom makes this and tried theirs and StarTech's drivers. Both don't make a difference even after uninstalling/re-installing, and disabling/enabling. I've also tried creating a different user, re-installing from the recovery drive and a clean install, and way too many other things to list here. If anybody has any advice or tips other than "did you try un plugging it?" I'd be really grateful!!!!

Answer:Bluetooth toggle missing, onboard AND aftermarket bluetooth not working!!!!!

Hey thanks for the reply but I ended up solving it. Ya I had razor synapse installed and there was fully charged batteries in the mouse. I did yet another clean install but this time I completely deleted the system (efi) recovery partition. I had deleted the factory reset partitions when I switched to the ssd but was nervous about deleting that one. That's the only new thing that I hadn't tried on my many attempts to get Bluetooth to work. Hope this helps someone because in all of my research I never came across an answer that worked for me

I have a W500 with Win 7 32 bit, 4058-CTO.  I use a Lenovo Bluetooth mouse that works good.  But I cannot see or connect with any other Bluetooth devices. This laptop first came with Vista and I could connect to our cell phones via Bluetooth for data transfer.   I upgraded to Windows 7 and had not tried to connect to a cell phone until recently. I have tried many things - updating drivers, etc.   I have "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" checked.  There are no errors.   When I click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and select "Show Bluetooth Devices", I can never see anything. On my cell phone, when I try to pair it with the computer, it sees the computer, and asks for a passkey, but then times out. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer:W500 cannot see any Bluetooth devices in Win 7, but Bluetooth mouse works

After trying many things in Windows 7, I decided to install Virtual XP Mode.  I had to enable the hardware virtualization in the BIOS to get XP Mode to work. After that, I was able to install the W500 Bluetooth drivers for XP in the Virtual XP machine.  The Bluetooth works perfectly with my cell phone.  So it seems that my hardware is OK.  I will keep trying to get Bluetooth to work in Windows 7 - maybe do a clean install in the future.  For now, XP Mode does the trick.

My bluetooth functionality and even the icon disappeaered from my laptop.  The HP Service Assistant tried to do a network diagnostic and couldn't find a problem.  It said to go to the HP support site and load latest Bluetooth drivers.  The only drivers shown were for a Broadcom Bluetooth.  Not thinking I had a different Bluetoth system I downloaded and installed the Broadcom drivers.  Then I went to the device manager and saw that I did not have a Broadcom system, but an Intel system. (I should have done this earlier I know).  The device manager showed that the drivers were probably corrupted and it couldn't validate the digital signature for the drivers that were there. (Code 52) I revisited the device manager and looked at the properties tab of the drivers and the events tab under that.  It said there that Device USB/VID-8087&PID etc. needed further installation. Now I am confused and frustrated.  I don't want to try to instal this device if it is not the correct Intel device, but rather the Broadcom device. In other words, I don't want to screw things up even more. Can someone please tell me what to do?

I posted a message to ask that whether there is a method to enable the bluetooth module(made by broadcom) of s10-3t to work with bluetooth PAN. if it is possible, I can connect s10-3t to internet via a smartphone by bluetooth. I studied it, and  successed! The result is that: the Toshiba stack driver can enable the bluetooth PAN of s10-3t.

I need to know whether the hardware and latest updated driver supports Bluetooth 4.0 or 4.1 (Bluetooth 4.1 was official approx. the same time this machine was purchased)It seems that HP bluetooth driver descriptions do not display this information (versions of bluettoh supported, and bluettoh profiles might also be nice). This machineCommon Name                                           HP Touchsmart Envy 17Product ID                                                     E9G82UA#ABABroadcom Bluetooth Driver:                 12.0.1.695 Rev.A TIA.

well i decided to go full bluetooth because im tired of spending money on replacment headphones and broken tangled cables so i brought myself some Tone infinium HBS-900 bluetooth headphones. now on my phone that supports APT-X these things are amazing! but on my computer it seems that im plagued with interference and sound crackling. so i swapped out my realtek AC wireless wifi card and brought a intel 7260 Dualband +bluetooth 4.0
for a while it seemed to be working and now its again crackling and shuddering. its driving me nuts! then i brought THIS

so that i can make anything bluetooth just to my disappointment that i dont think these 2 thing scan connect to each other, i mean how would i connect to things that have no gui together? but someone said they have done it ant it works fine but i can for the life of me find out how to do it.
i have already trying updating the drivers on my computer and i ave the latest. but if i cover my bluetooth or even move 2 feet away from it it crackles and disconnects sometimes. it was not doing that at first and i only tested it with my pc but yea. i tried 4 phones and they are flawless, i could go outside of my apartment and i would be connected on all 4 phones but not on my pc.

Hello!

I recently installed the latest version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (v9.10.32T) for one of my desired applications to properly function. However, connecting my Bluetooth headphones through Toshiba's bluetooth manager does not seem to support the media buttons on the headset. These include Play/Pause and seek buttons. Before the Bluetooth stack, when I used my default bluetooth driver for connection, these controls had worked fine.

Also, there does not seem to be a specific setting to fix this in the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Options.
How would I go about getting these controls back?

Okay, so I don't really know if a solution is out there, but here is the situation I'm in. I only have one available USB port left which I am currently using for the Logitech Bluetooth dongle that came with my Logitech K750 solar keyboard. I would also like to attach my Samsung wep410 headset for Skype calls.

I have tried to discover the headset with and without Logitechs software installed with no luck. I then checked device manager, which does not show the dongle as a Bluetooth receiver/device. My assumption from that is that Logitech has it setup to only receive from their own devices.

Since I have no room for another dongle (and a hub isn't really ideal). Is there some way to force the dongle to detect normal Bluetooth devices? I've searched for a custom driver or other work around with no luck so far. This is on a computer running Windows 7 64bit.

I just recently got bluetooth headphones. I was wondering if I was able to plug in a usb bluetooth dongle into my xbox 360. So i could connect my headphones via bluetooth to the xbox and hear in game audio through the headphones. Would that work?

Answer:Can i plug in a bluetooth adapter to my 360 and then connect any bluetooth headset?

That won't work, the Xbox 360 don't have drivers for bluetooth devices (Impossible to install drivers) and that bluetooth dongle won't be recognize by the console.

I just set up win 8 on my computer and was going thru the process of connecting my bluetooth mouse and my bluetooth keyboard. My mouse connected automatically, no problems. When I went to connect my keyboard I got the usual prompt asking you to enter the code, but the code was not accepted no matter how many times I tried. I know for a fact that this keyboard works, because it works fine on my Win 7 OS on the same computer. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi
One of my friend in India purchased "HCL ME Sync 1.0 (U3) Tablet (WiFi, 3G via Dongle) by HCL" online . It says in many places that it supports Bluetooth but when I saw this I couldn't find any option for the bluetooth and don't know how to turn it on. Is there any one who has purchased it and help me out to turn the bluetooth on or how can we transfer files with some other bluetooth device. Even I couldn't find much good information on internet.

Answer:Hcl Me U3 tablet says file sharing with Bluetooth but don't know how to turn on the bluetooth ?

I don't see it listed in the spec sheet, nor the user guide.

On both of my android 4.2 devices, Bluetooth is listed after Wi-fi in Settings. I would think it's the same w/ android 4.1. It's possible the tablet doesn't have bluetooth.

Dear All,I would like to be able to send files to print to my printer from around the house. I require to be able to print from1 * Desktop PC2 * LaptopI understand most people use a wireless network to do this, howevevr, this is not viable for me as one of the laptops has enhanced security, which only allows me to connect to a business network, and not my home network. It is for this reason, that I believed that BLUETOOTH PRINTING was the only viable option. In turn, I came up with two options. For the laptops I want to get a "Bluetooth USB Adapter - 100 metres" click hereand for the desktop I had a dilemma.I was wither goin to get an additional blue tooth stick and a "Bluetooth USB Printer Adapter" click hereORGet a "Bluetooth Access Point with USB Print Server" click hereThe latter would not require me to get another USB bluetooth stick I believe.Could uoi please help me on a few problems.1. Is bluetooth best option in my case?2. If I choose to buy the access point, will I need a USB bluetooth stick for the Desktop - which is situated next to the Printer.3. IF I buy the access point, it only has an RJ45 port and USB port. How would it connect to my pc, or does it connect to my router? If so, why does it connect to the router?4. Is all of this compatibkle with my Epson Aculaser C900 laser print.Thank You Very Much for All Your Help in Advance.Skaria

I have a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop running W7 64 bit Pro, 8 Gig Memory. Would goning to a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse create problems, or should I just stay with the wired connections? The keyboard and the mouse as of this time would be my only bluetooth devices. It does have the internal Bluetooth.
Thanks in Advance
