Why does Windows 10 phone app Outlook not carry over deleted emails to my Gmail?

Question: Why does Windows 10 phone app Outlook not carry over deleted emails to my Gmail?

I have a Windows 10 phone. I use the Outlook Mail app that comes with the phone. My current email is a Gmail. When I loaded my phone I used my Microsoft account, which is also linked to my gmail account. In outlook, I made sure to ADD my GMAIL account and use the snych settings for email, calendar and contacts.
Calendar is great, contacts are great. When I check my emails, the emails come in just fine.
When I delete an email in the outlook app on my phone. The email is still in my GMAIL. I have tried to look up different things I can do but I can only find responses that do not work.
I would really like to use the Outlook app for my phone, but sometimes I do check my email on a computer. I would like those 2 to work with each other. Not by themselves.

Preferred Solution: Why does Windows 10 phone app Outlook not carry over deleted emails to my Gmail?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

As I have a couple of Gmail accounts, I use Outlook 2010 (running under Windows 7) to consolidate them together and use it for reading, sending and archiving all my emails.
Until recently I have been able to manage my emails without problem, but within the past few weeks I have run into problems sending emails using Outlook for my Gmail accounts. Messages are stored in my Outbook but will not send. This does not happen all of the time, only intermittently, and even if I press the send/receive button, or reboot Outlook 2010, the messages remain in the outbox.
The only way I have managed to send them is to reboot my PC and then restart Outlook - then the messages send automatically as they normally should do and the outbox is cleared. However after a while, and not on every Outlook session, the messages do not send from Outlook unless I reboot my PC again.
I have checked my email settings and as far as I can tell they are OK (as they normally work):
Incoming mail server: and port 995
Outgoing mail server: and port 465
and outgoing server set to require authentication.
I get no error messages - the emails just remain in the outbox until I reboot the PC.
Can anybody advise how I can resolve this issue?
Many thanks for your help.

I am a long time Verizon customer and want to stand by them loyally. I've never been disappointed in the service and really have a respect for the company itself.
However, I love my Microsoft products and my Windows Phone even more. My HTC One M8 has just about run it's course and I would like to upgrade my hardware, preferably to Windows 10. Only problem is that all of the current handsets are GSM only. Anyone have any insight on a possible future product I can put on the VZ network? I'd love to buy the 950 XL and would even spend the money on the Elite if it meant I could stay with VZ. Hoping someone out there knows something.

I've been using outlook 2007 to send and recieve emails for the past 3 years or so (recieving from my website's pop server, and sending through gmail --- my website's domain has been flagged for spamming). Last week, I started getting this error message as I noticed that emails aren't being sent:

"none of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server"

I've tried double checking my login info, server settings, firewall, and even tried sending emails over a different network (work, home, starbucks..etc). I also changed the port number and security type as advised by gmail's troubleshooting...

Anyone have a hint for me???

Answer:Can send emails on outlook windows phone, but can not receive?

Welcome to Windows Central.
If your question was "Can I not receive emails in Windows Phone?", then the answer is "No, you should be able to receive outlook emails from your Windows Phone" - in all of the Windows Phones that I've owned (L610, HTC 8s, L1020, L535), I could send and receive outlook emails with no issues.
If your question was "Why can I not receive outlook emails in my Windows Phone?", then we may need more details. Make sure that your email+accounts settings are correct, especially the schedule for downloading mail - you may want to set it to download "As items arrive" so you would receive emails in your phone immediately.
You may want to create a Windows Central account to be able to respond to this thread.

Answer:Why do deleted emails reappear on my phone?

Usually happens after an update or phone reset.
If you look at the e-mail account settings there are options to choose how far back to sync.
You can sync based on usage or do it manually and fetch e-mails from 7 days to a year back if still on the server.

I use Outlook 2010 which syncs to my IMAP Gmail account.
This works very well.

Today something happening in Outlook (I might have dragged something, I don't know) and my mails (12,500 of them) ended up in Outlook's deleted items folder. Some Gmail folders just vanished, like Sent Items, Bin and Spam.

I immediately quit Oulook before it synced so all my mails are still safe on Gmail's servers. I checked via logging in to the Gmail website and also disabled IMAP to be safe.

I need some advice on how to fix the emails in Outlook.
I'm afraid that if I start syncing the mails will be lost from Gmail.
I also don't want to start a new Outlook .pst file as there are many gigs of emails to sync.

Does anyone have some advice?

Are there any other ways of migrating these emails across to their new account? Note that the migration tool offered by Google does not work as the Gmail account isn't connected to Google Apps for Business.

One possible solution is that I could migrate their emails via my Google Apps for Business account though I imagine it would take forever to then forward these emails onto them (most likely manually using the Forward) option?

Hi, when I searched the forums for posts on Microsoft outlook I found posts in the windows and the computer software areas, a majority of the posts appeared here so I thought I'd try posting here.Okay, here's my situation: I currently have an email account with Adelphia and I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 to access that it account.  I setup Outlook so that when I receive the emails from the Adelphia account Outlook removes them and transfers them to Outlook (meaning a copy of the emails don't remain in my Adelphia inbox).  I've decided that I want to stop using Outlook, mainly due to the fact that it makes it difficult to access my emails from computers not on my network account.  I've decided to switch to a gmail account (for other reasons involving irritation with Adelphia). My problem is that I can't figure out how to get my emails from Outlook 2003 to my new gmail account.  I've looked in the questions and answers section, the forum, and both faq on gmail and outlook official pages and still can't figure it out.  I think I've figured out a way to redirect new incoming mail, but that's not my concern what I need is to redirect my old emails.  I know that I could just forward all of my old emails to my new gmail account, but that will be a huge hassle and the emails would then show up as being sent from me and not the original sender.  If I can't figure out another solution I'll do th... Answer:help transfering emails from outlook to gmail

I'm not absolutely sure but I doubt very much this can be done.  Think about it.  With Outlook, your mail is on your hard drive, not out on the Internet.  With Gmail, it is out on the Internet; it's web-based mail.  I looked at the info on Gmail on Google's site and, like you, found nothing about transferring mail from Outlook.  So, I no other option but to forward the mail to yourself if you really must get it all moved over to Gmail.

Answer:deleting emails in outlook, not connecting with gmail

Depending on how you're connecting to gmail it may not be possible. I know it's not possible to delete emails on the web server if you're using an HTTP or IMAP connection. By default, most tutorials tell you to use IMAP and POP isn't enabled be default on a gmail account.

To Enable Pop in Gmail:

1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
5. Choose what to do with your messages after they're accessed with your POP client or device.
6. Configure your POP client* and click Save Changes.

To Configure Outlook 2007 to connect via POP:

1. Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes.
2. Open Outlook.
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
4. On the E-mail tab, click New...
5. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, Select POP and then select Next.
6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
7. Click Next... You're Done. (Manual Cofiguration)

OK...Running Vista Home Basic on my Dell PC...5 days ago at 9:23pm I received my last email in Outlook (2007). Computer was idle at work. No problems for 4 years until now. 2 weeks ago went with a new ISP and did not change the codes for SMTP/Pop3/Imap because it was all working the exact same way--frankly, didn't think about it. Come in and there are no new emails. Hit Send/Receive and nothing happens. NO WAY, I get 50 a day. Go to Gmail account and it stopped at the same time. Find all new messages in Trash folder then all filters were removed to see what happened next. Emails were visible on screen (inbox) after that-and still are. After that, gmail icon started showing bottom right of my screen with my incoming emails--FROM 2009/10/11! All I had deleted last year and I am sure I emtied. My Outlook number of items in Inbox continues to grow every time I hit Send/Receive, lines "bounce" on screen as if items are going to appear but they don't. I get the outlook envelope showing emails from January to March 2012 downloading along with New Items in Mailbox icon as of today. I can hit on the email as it (icon) pops up and read it but if it passes it is totally GONE! Since gmail was fixed, about 7000 emails have gone into my inbox but not one of them are visible. Answer:2007 Outlook/Gmail Account --Where are my emails going??

Any chance your old ISP was Rogers?

I thought that when you use POP , your email address is hosted and stored by the ISP.
Meaning, say your ISP was called Teleweb, your email address would have been [email protected].

I'm confused as to why you did not need to change the POP settings if you changed ISPs.

Im thinking your old ISP cancelled or disabled your email account, which may be contributing to the problem.

Also Gmail is webmail, so ISPs cannot influence how Gmail behaves. Were you forwarding your mail to the gmail account?

Hallo tapuz, you may have to sign into your gmail account and delete all your old messages.
From there select settings in the top RH corner
Then select Forwarding & pop/imap tab
In the pop download column go to option 2 and in the drop down box select delete gmails copy
Then select save changes.
This will stop gmail saving a copy once Outlook has downloaded it to your computer.

I just can't seem to permanently delete emails.

"Normal ISP" accounts or exchange corporate email accounts seem to work fine .

Even moving then to a LOCAL inbox and delete doesn't cure the problem. I'm using IMAP service.

I just recently set up a Gmail IMAP account in Outlook Express (OE), so I haven't used OE for this account much yet.  Like you, I have OE set to "Purge deleted messages when leaving IMAP folders".  What I've observed is that the "deleted" messages appear with a line through them immediately after "deleting" them.  They remain that way until I close AND reopen OE.  Yep, I see them still there immediately after re-opening OE but they then disappear with a few seconds.  Could this be what is actually happening in your system?

I use Cox Internet and the Microsoft 2007 Office Suite (and, unfortunately my OS is Vista). I've tried searching *.pst, but get nothing. Ideas?

Answer:Deleted emails from Outlook

When you delete an email in Outlook, it's moved to the Deleted Items folder. When you delete it from there it's still in the *.pst file, but would likely take 3rd party tools to recover. To make sure it's unrecoverable, you need to compact the Data file.

Click File | Data File Management
This will list all the different Data files you've setup, including their location.
Highlight any one, then click Settings, then click Compact Now.
Or right click Personal Folders, click Properties, the click the Advanced button, that will get you to the same place.

For a while now, some emails get automatically deleted from my inbox. They show up in my deleted folder, but if I want to move them back to my inbox, it gets automatically moved back to my deleted folder.
This happens with emails from a few companies, but I might also happen with other random emails.
For as far as I know I never created any rules for these email addresses (at least not on purpose).
This happens on

Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I can do about this?

I have my gmail set up as IMAP. When I set up my gmail account in Outlook 2010, it brought in all the email from the gmail server (thousands). That's okay, but what I would like to do is delete most of the emails (and the folders I set up in gmail) WITHOUT deleting them from the gmail server. I see in the gmail settings some instructions on deleting and expunging, but the terminology is confusing to me. Can someone tell me how to do my gmail settings such that when I delete something in Outlook (whether it be a gmail folder of individual emails), they are not deleted from the server? Sorry to be redundant, but I don't think I'm being very clear. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Gmail IMAP/MS Outlook 2007 issue here that I have been trying to figure out for months now.

Here's the issue: Ever Other message I delete from Outlook 2007 that is using Gmail IMAP service show the following error message attached below

"The item cannot be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied."

After doing some tweaking and research on my own I have seem to locate one odd walk around with this error. Whenever I disable email protection within NOD32 AV the error messages stop. So that told me that it may be a issue within Eset NOD32 AV. However, after disabling every single scanner the email protection I am unable to figure out a solution, other then using a different AV product. Which I do not want to do, as I prefer using NOD32.

Has anyone else had a issue like this one and figure out a fix yet?

FYI: I have also tweaked with GMail IMAP settings within Gmail Settings.

I may have have found a solution to this problem. Testing it right now for other possible issues this may cause.

I am running MS Outlook 2002 SP3 on Windows XP Pro. My email provider is comast. I had several hundred emails in my deleted items folder which I permanently deleted last weekend. I now realized there were emails I needed and I'm trying to recover them.

MS Outlook help has instructions for doing this, but it doesn't appear to work in my case (the recover option doesn't appear). I'm guessing it's due to my server configuration with Comcast (due to Comcast not keeping emails on the server once they're downloaded), but I'm not sure.

Can anybody out there help?

Answer:Recover Permanently Deleted MS Outlook emails

Are you using the free Outlook backup program from Microsoft? If so, you should be able to recover some or maybe all of the deleted emails if you have been letting it perform regular backups.

Answer:recovering deleted emails outlook 2007 but up

If they were deleted (and the Deleted Items folder was subsequently emptied) you will have only a slim chance of recovering them as they may by now have been overwritten by new data. You will have to try a data recovery utility, but anything it finds may not be readable if it's been partially overwritten.Try this:

I have two emails that keep returning over and over again. I delete them but they come back every now and again. They are NOT being left on my mailserver as I have checked. They are the same emails because the time and date is the same as the ones I delete. It is a mystery and very annoying to constantly find a 2 next to my inbox and having to find them to delete again. If I don't delete them I end up with multiple copies of the email.

Answer:Outlook 2010- deleted emails keep returning

Go to your web mail server and delete all messages in the Inbox. Then, if this doesn't solve the problem, on Outlook go to menu File ?> Info ?> Account Settings ?> E-mail tab. Double click on the e-mail account with the problem, click on the More Settings... button, and chose the Advanced tab; on the last three lines (controlling the messages to leave or delete on the server) make sure all three boxes are unchecked.Hope this helps. If it does post it here, please.

Hello all. I'm new to this, so bear with me!

I have Outlook 2007. All of a sudden, about 4 days ago, when I delete an email from the Inbox, it disappears completely. It used to go to Deleted, and also All Mail, and I'd use the Search function (of Windows 7) to treat emails and tasks from the last couple years as a database. So, if a client called in, I could search under their name and bring up all old emails. But now I can't. I can still Search "sent" emails, but not deleted received emails. I've fooled around with the View options, and looked for options on how deleted emails are treated, and found nothing, but I'm not very experienced at this, so I may have overlooked something. Also, All Mail hasn't added a new thing at all since this began, even though Sent still has emails it it.
I'm using a gmail email account, in order sync with a PDA. But, it was working fine for months before this came up.

Any ideas?

I understand that, to have the "recover deleted items" in the dropdown in Outlook 2007 (tools), i would need to have a Microsoft Exchange account. However, i don`t need a Microsoft Exchange account. So i edited the registry as follows:-
Browse to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options then typed in DumpsterControlAlways On, then changed the Dword value to 1 and after that the "Recover deleted items" is supposed to be in the dropdown under tools in Outlook 2007, but it`s not there. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Answer:recovering old deleted emails from Outlook Express

If you mean the deleted ones that you sent to the Trash bin, but then empited, then no.

However, you could try, but not sure if it will work for deleted, this:

DBXtract will extract all messages from a dbx file and convert them to individual eml files. You could then open a DOS box or use Windows Explorer to select all the eml files and change the file type to txt which would aid in searching for data on them. The program is free from Steve Cochran's website:

I recently purchased the new MS Office 2007 - Home and Student Edition. I was upgrading from a previous MS Office 2003 Professional Edition. I used to work out of my home and required MS Office Pro in those days and then when MS brought out Office 2007 - I no longer needed the MS Office Pro license (as I was now working at the office full-time) so I bought the Home and Student Edition for my home computers (although I bought 10 licenses of the MS Office Pro edition for my office.) I was constantly getting a message when I would try and download templates and clipart from MS website that my previous 2003 version was the professional version and my upgrade was the Home and Student version so it wouldn't let me download anything. I did some research and discovered that the best way to handle this would be to delete MS Office Pro -2003.
YIKES - I did not realize that MS Outlook was part of the Pro edition and I lost all my emails, addresses, plane tickets, theatre tickets, everything that I had filed in my emails. Do you have any idea how I might be able to get this back - I still have unused licenses of the MS Office 2007 Pro Edition if that would help. Any suggestions that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Have had previous experience with trying to recover emails that client's have deleted out of their 'Deleted Items' folder sometimes even dating back a few months. Thought I would share a simple trick that can be used.

I actually managed to find an article about this on a forensic site but then adjusted it after attempting the procedure and found out things that can be tweaked. This can be used for 2003 and 2007 (the pst scanner is just in a different folder).

Cannot 100% guarantee that it will bring back every deleted email, as they may have been overwritten. But however I have had rather good results with this guide.

This guide is on Outlook 2007

So we?ll first need to ?corrupt? our PST file to have ScanPST reclaim our ?deleted? emails.

0. Take a backup of the PST file! (seriously)

1. Open the PST in the Hex editor of your choice (I used HxD by Mal Hrz)

2. Delete positions 7 through 13 with the spacebar (or if that fails to work then just replace each number with 20).
You actually delete 13 characters that make up:
00007, 00008, 00009, 0000a, 0000b, 0000c, 0000d
0000e, 0000f, 00010, 00011, 00012, 00013

I actually found that I just deleted the characters through to 0009 and it worked fine.
Tried deleting all the way to 00013 and it corrupted the file beyond repair (oops)

3. Save the PST, it is now corrupted.

4. Run the Inbox Repair Tool, SCANPST.exe, to recover the file... Read more

I have a new Dell running Windows 7 and have installed Office 2010. Initially I had no problems with Outlook in receiving emails, but was unable to import my previous emails from my Office 2007 on my old Dell running XP. So I used the Windows Easy Transfer method to transfer from my old Dell to my new one. All my old emails are now in Outlook 2010, but by 2010 settings changed and emails no longer arrive in their individual email address folder. I thought I had fixed this, but all my emails for each of my 5 email addresses are arriving in the Inbox, as well as their individual email folder. But worst of all, despite deleting emails I don't want, every time I open Outlook and the Send/Receive runs, I am now receiving all the deleted emails back again. So today I apparently received 141 new emails! Help! I have searched the Microsoft website but can't see a solution, and their only support option apparently will cost 199 - considering both the software and computer are less than a month old, I feel I should be able to get support from Microsoft, but since it doesn't seem to be an option, I am hoping someone in the Helproom can help. I have Windows ME with Microsoft Outlook Express 6.0. Up until a couple of weeks ago, my email with OE worked perfectly. Now it has started redownloading emails I have previously deleted. These emails do not reside on the cable modem server. I have called my cable modem company and they do not see a problem on their end and feel it is an Outlook Express problem. I tried searching the microsoft website with no luck and was hoping you might have run into this problem before. I thought of repairing OE (thinking that may solve my problem) but I do not know how. what is the name of the file, outlook archives every now and then it's contents? Problem is, a friend of mine accidently deleted the complete contents of his Inbox and also permanently deleted them in Outlook, since he thought he was in the: "Sent items" folder. I know there is still a way to re-create all those email of the Inbox but not sure exaclty how.
Doesn't usually Outlook archive the contents of the INBOX in some *.pst file (archive.pst) or so? If so, what is the exact name of the file and where is it located?

If this is not the way to do it, maybe you have any idea how to do so. I know it's possible, but the question: "HOW" is still present.

PS: I ONLY DO need the contents of the INBOX, NO OTHER files.

Thank you very much,

Answer:recovering of permanently deleted emails in MS Outlook 2003

You would have to have auto archiving turned on. In Outlook, go to Tools> Options> Other tab> click the AutoArchive button. See if Run AutoArchive is checked. If it is, then Move old items to: will have a path to the folder.

There was an accidental deletion of a lot of emails from outlook 2000. I don't think there was any exchange type stuff and I've tried things like "tools > recover deleted items" which is not there in Outlook 2000. They were not archived either, i don't think. Is there any way that I can recover these emails. They were business related and it is a catastrophe that they are gone.

Answer:Recovering Accidental Deleted Emails in Outlook 2000

A little more info may be needed.
Lets start with is this a business or home computer?
Operating System?
If business, does it use Active Directory and an Exchange eMail Server?
* If there is an IT Department for Exchange, they may be able to assist
Where was the email deleted from? Inbox? Personal Folders?
* If deleted from Personal Folders, running Scanpost may resolve it, but that is only if you are using the term 'Deleted' freely to simply mean the mail is missing as opposed to knowing for certain that the Delete function was invoked.
If Home Computer, what eMail service do you use? Gmail? Outlook (formerly Hotmail), Live Mail ?
* Removing and re-creating the Outlook account will trigger some email provider services to restore quite a bit of previously received, viewed, and deleted emails from their systems. Some services Tech Support can also provide assistance and recovery from their servers.

I am running outlook 2003 on a windows xp machine. I configured outlook for a IMAP connection to gmail.

It was working fine for several months. Then, all of a sudden I noticed that when I deleted an email from my inbox or any other folder in outlook, it just disappeared. It didn't go the Deleted Items folder as it had been since I first configured the IMAP connection.

I've read many online posts of others having similar problems, with there deleted emails just disappearing.

I know this should work, because it DID work for me for several months.

I'm not aware of changing any settings, so not sure why this started happening.

I created a video on my YouTube channel showing how you can recover deleted emails in Outlook 2007. I am pretty sure that the technique demonstrated will work with 2003 or 2010 as well but I've only tested it using Outlook 2007.

This technique will only work if you haven't compacted your PST file since the time you deleted the email you are trying to recover. The basic steps are to back up your PST file, then you use a HEX editor to "damage" the file by overwriting a small section of the PST file. You then use the great utility ScanPST.exe that comes with Microsoft Office to repair the PST file. When you then open the PST file in Outlook, the emails you have deleted since the last time you compacted will be in your inbox. If you have deleted a lot of emails since you last compacted it is probably a good idea to try this with a copy of your active PST file. Then you can just open it in Outlook alongside your main PST and just move the email you want recovered back into your main folder.

Answer:How-to recover deleted emails from Outlook 2007 for free

Thanks for sharing the info and the video.

It might make for a better demo video if you open the PST file in the HEX editor after you delete the e-mails from the PST file.

As it is now, you: the PST file (with all of the test e-mails in it) using the HEX editor the PST file using Outlook
...delete some e-mails
...empty the Deleted Items folder
...close Outlook (which writes to the PST file)
...damage the PST file via the HEX editor the damaged PST file (with all of the test e-mails in it) the SCANPST utility the PST file the PST file via Outlook with all of the test e-mails in it.

So - it appears that the version of the PST file that you damaged/repaired still had the deleted e-mails in it because that version of the PST file was still in RAM via the Hex editor. I'm not familiar with the HEX editor that you show (I use PSPad). I know that there are some editors that will automatically reload a file that was changed by another app. I could not tell from the video if that is what happened. So I suggest that you not keep the version in RAM (via the editor) that contains all of the test e-mails.

My guess is that you have tested this using something like this order: Outlook
...delete some e-mails
...empty the Deleted Items folder
...close Outlook the PST file using the HEX editor
...damage the PST file via that HEX editor the damaged PST file the SCANPST utility the PST file the P... Read more

My computer today was acting up, it was lagging and stalling a bit. So at first I rebooted it and it was still lagging, so I shut it down. After being off for a couple mins I restarted it and left, I came back about an hour later, logged in (Win 2000) and noticed that some of my applications that were kept open had been lost. For example, I have Apache installed on my computer. When the computer logged in it could not find the ApacheMonitor file which loads at startup. I then opened up Outlook Express and ALL my emails - inbox, outbox, and deleted were GONE. Is there anyway to get them back? I've been told no because I'm on a FAT32 HD. The thing is that my computer did not lockup, it just lagged a bit, I did no force bootdowns. If you need anymore information please let me know. I hope I did not lose all the emails....

hopefully you only lost the asssociation with the correct folder location, not the folders themselves

open windows explorer to :

you should see a bunch of .dbx files containing your email files

if so,

You should always know that something?s not right when an email that purports to come from a big company starts with ?hello dear.? Such is the case of the latest malicious notifications that claim to originate from DHL Express International.

The recipients of these emails are told that the processing was ?complete successfully.?

They?re also instructed to view the attachment for further details. Experts from Sophos have analyzed the so-called delivery details and found the file to contain a piece of malware identified as Troj/Agent-WMO.

To help you identify such emails, here are some of the common subject lines:

- DHL Express Tracking Notification ID [random code];
- DHL International Notification for shipment [random code].

Users are advised to ignore such emails and delete them before clicking on any of the links, or before opening the attachments. Also, be sure to install a reliable antivirus solution to protect you against such threats.

I have a client who has Outlook 2000 installed on their server (MS Server Standard). I'm in the process of adding email automation to an Access database using Outlook. While setting up Outlook (it had never been configured before), I used account settings for a Cox account. While testing, I discovered that I would not be able to use that account (failed to logon to the smtp server- the client doesn't have an account so it access denied to the mail server). From there, I deleted the Cox email account settings and added a gmail account instead. All settings have been configured- pop and smtp servers, authentication, etc., however when I attempt to send/receive, Outlook continues to use the Cox server settings??!?

Again, the Cox server settings do not exist in the current email account I have set up. I've tried to add and delete the gmail account several times, along with trying to reset Outlook to a first run setting, but alas, nothing has worked. Any ideas, or does Outlook use an ini file somewhere that may contain the old account settings? (I've looked at the account file under users, but those settings- for gmail- are correct.

Thanks for any suggestions

What on earth do I do?

Midday, a spam email was sent from my account to all my contacts. I could still log on, see my emails and send new emails but no incoming mails were reaching my mail box. Asked a quesiton on Gmail Answers forum, but got a useless response

Tuesday, by 2pm my account was suspended completely, I can;t log in? I can't reset my password? there is on line form to fill out to contact customer care, I filled it out, but no one has responded.

Wednesday, still can't log in to my account, filled out the form again, but again no response

Thursday, still can't log in to my account - 8 years of emails lost. Lots of security and privacy concerns. Tried phoning Gmail, but the london number[Removed]is for billing enquiries and you need a credit card, I don't pay for any services from Gmail, and this is not a billing enquiry.

HOW DO YOU CONTACT GMAIL, and I don;t mean an online form, I have done all that, I mean telephone and speak to a person, or LIVE CHAT with a human not a "Bot"

So I want to ask what is Genuine Gmail Phone Number For United Kingdom, is 0800 086 8676 Gmail Contact Phone Number UK

Hi, welcome to TSF

Google don't offer phone support for these kind of problems, only online forms, so be very careful if you decide to use that 0800 number. ie. don't give any personal details over the phone.

It's better to use their official support lines:
Problems signing in to your account
Having trouble signing in?

Do you have a link to the customer care page you used? There are lots of scammers out there pretending to be google support.

I primarily use Windows Mail for my work at home job. I also have a Gmail account so I can check for e-mails on my iphone when I'm out. I want to have it set up so that the emails show up in both places, Windows Mail and Gmail.

Currently if my desktop computer is turned off and my Windows Mail program is not open, the incoming emails only go to Gmail and not Windows mail. OR, if my computer is up and running but the Windows mail doesn't happen to be open, the emails only go to Gmail and not Windows Mail. Seems like if my browser (IE8) is open but windows mail is not open, emails will only go to Gmail.

Do I have some settings wrong which would make the emails not show up in Windows Mail?

I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer:Emails sometimes go to gmail and not windows mail

Hi lindalo5032,

While researching for this issue, found a link which might help in fixing the issue: Leaving Mail on the Server with Windows Mail | Tiger Technologies Support

Ensure to check the box ?Leave a copy of messages on the server? and uncheck ?Remove from server after? and ?Remove from server when deleted from deleted items?. Click Apply and then OK.

Check if the new messages appear in Windows Mails and Gmail.

Please post the results.

The Basics
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
My Problem
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

Answer:Events on Outlook Calendar Deleted, Retained on GMail Calendar???

Update - The problem does move ahead each day. The auto - deletes now begin on 9/9.

Nobody with any ideas???

I read everything online, tried every set of recommendations - it wont sync.
I tried Google tab in accounts/email, it wont show log-in screen.
I tried Advanced Sync with IMAP - it wont work.
I tried Advanced Sync with POP - no luck.
Any other idea? Any good app - im affraid to install UNOFFICIAL apps that can receive contacts and mails...

Answer:Windows Phone 8.1 Gmail Sync

While I was on DP everything was fine with gmail. If you will do everything right, you will be prompted to add your phone as a trusted device.
P.S. Just a tip, check your time and date, I had some issues with it.

Hi. I'm using Gmail on the Outlook mail app on windows phone 10 (Lumia 735). My problems are:
1. The syncing sometimes fails, I have it set for "as soon as I get an email" but sometimes the app will go without syncing for a few hours.
2. I don't get any notifications on new emails (no sound, nothing on the quick action bar or the notification bar when locked), although all those options are checked as "yes".
3. I cant forward emails from my gmail account, it doesn't show the option to send and sometimes freezes the app.
So my questions are, are these known issues? (couldn't find anything on the forum) How can I fix them? Thank you in advance.

Answer:GMAIL issues windows phone 10

I think these are the known issues....coz I am also facing the same problems with Gmail on my lumia 520...may be we have to wait for an update from the MS...

My ISP, Shentel, now uses Google mail as email servers. I run a business and in the past have been able to send bulk type emails, broken down into groups of 80 or less recipients (per my ISP instructions) and had no issues. I have about 10-12 of these groups of 80 or less recipients and I send each group seperately throughout the day. In otherwords, I don't send all 10-12 groups at once.
I only send these group emails 2 - 4 times a year, so I'm not sending 10 ga-billion emails.
Recenlty (say in the last 6 months), I send out these bulk emails and the emails are not delivered. They are not stuck in the Outbox and they show as being Sent. I have contacted some of the recipients individually and they indicated they did not receive the group emails, but do receive individual emails.
I contacted my ISP and they just walked me through my Windows Live Mail settings, but he was not able to offer any other help.
Any help appreciated.

Answer:Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

It sounds like there's a syncing issue between Windows Live and Gmail.
Are you able to get to the Gmail admin page for your email account via a web browser? From there, make sure it's configure to use IMAP.
You may also want to try another email client, like Outlook or Thunderbird.
