Preferred Solution: Windows 10 weather app location can't be changed getting error code 0X80072EFD when pressing review, how can I fix this?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows Store does not/has never worked since upgrading to Windows 10. When opened it says "The server stumbled. We all have bad days. Refresh the page." Error code 0x80072efd at bottom of page. Refreshing page merely repeats the same message.

Scoured the web for fixes, can't find anything other than to purge Store cache (wsreset.exe), which does nothing for this problem.

IN addition, Microsoft Edge also does not work. Do not know if that is a related issue or separate.

Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.

Answer:Vista Windows Updates error 0x80072efd

Hi Grace. . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support.

I took the liberty of moving your post from the other similar thread so you can be sure that all replies herein pertain to your system and no one else's.

The Windows Updates error 0x80072efd means that your system is not properly connecting with the Microsoft Updates site or that it cannot complete downloads as it needs to.

One cause can be your Internet connection, but more than likely it is related to your anti-virus program and the existence of a 3rd party (non-Microsoft) Firewall. What a/v product(s) do you have installed and are you using the Windows Firewall &/or any other one?

Is your system updated with Vista SP1?

Regards. . .

Whelp to start this off I've Upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. I knew I was going to have issues with it considering it just came out but I think the issues I'm having are registry related errors due to Some issues i used to have with windows 7. So back about in I'd say March or April I'd had the Issue of malware getting into my registry and changing Chrome's, Firefox's and IE's Proxy setting to other values. Resulting in greyed out Boxes under internet settings and Under the connections tab Saying "Some settings are managed by your system adminsitrator" . I have gotten it resolved by deleting the values. But now its back again. Also you should know i did full scans with all of the following before posting here those include. Rougekiller, AdwCleaner, Hitman Pro, Avast, Emisoft Security Suite, and Malwarebytes. They Found the general PUP and Malware Which have been removed But there are Values that probably need deleted or changed and I need help finding them I've been browsing for an Answer on why the store was not working for a while until I realized what was going on. Note that Firefox works Fine but Internet explorer and anything Microsoft Related Cannot access the Internet that Includes the store windows update and logging into my Microsoft account.
Oh I've also Ran SFC /Scannow and CCleaner.

Any help would be appreciated

Greetings! I tried to search for posts on my issue but all that comes up is advice on how to move your Documents folder. I already did that. I changed my location from my SSD C:\ drive to my data drive E:\. Everything seemed fine until today when I navigated to the E: drive with Windows Explorer. My documents and music folders somehow got moved to a "Videos" folder. The "Gary" folder appears to be gone. However, the Documents shortcuts still work. In fact, the location property for Documents shows the correct (old) path but when I click on Find Target, it takes me to the Videos folder. I'm not sure when this happened. I have a system image but I'm afraid it was created after the fact. (Yes, I have rebooted)

You can press the Restore default button (changes it back to C:\Users\Gary\Documents) and then perform the move again to the location of your choice. Answer yes to move files if prompted.

I am sure it is a wonderful place, and I am thrilled to know it is now 32 degrees F outside, however I live in New Jersey. I cannot find a "change location" function in its settings. Where does the weather app get its location info from, and how can I correct it? Thanks!

Answer:Change location in weather app.

Right-click and setting should show up on the top. Click on places and add the new location.

HELP! I have been working on this issue for hours, trying all the suggested solutions, and nothing works. The problem is I can add the Weather Gadget to my Sidebar, but I cannot change it from the default of New York...it says Location Not Found.
I have Windows 7 Pro SP-1 and IE 11. This works A-OK on my other computer which is same OS and same IE. I'm beginning to suspect it's a Windows Update sometime in the past couple of months that started the problem, but so far cannot determine what or how.
Any help appreciated.

A very minor issue but starting about 4 or 5 days ago I noticed when I click on Cortana and it brings up the useful info .ie. news headlines, weather that the weather location at the top has changed from showing as 'Havering' my UK borough to a generic post code RM3 9. RM3 is still my location but I just thought it strange it has lost its ability to display Havering or Romford. It's not PC specific as we looked at our other family PC and this is doing the same. Just wondered if others are noticing the same. Not a major thing at all, more of an aesthetic thing if anything. I suppose one could argue it is being even more pinpoint / accurate by narrowing down the post code as much it has.

When you open IE 10, on the MSN homepage there is a section for the local weather, you can add locations easily! HOw the heck do you remove a location you added???

I am NOT talking about the weather app on the start screen within windows 8, I am talking about when you open IE and the weather is on the base MSN page for IE 10.

I can not find much on the internet on this. HELPPPPPP!!!!!!

Hi imacken, and welcome to Windows TenForums!

That's good question. With an MS account, I tried but it seems that I would have to signin with a different account to do so.
Maybe with a local account the options are different.
Sorry, that wasn't much help but I'll keep looking into it.

We are deploying several hundred win 8.1 enterprise tablets and I'd like to set the default location to our local city when users first sign in.
I can't find any information on the internet about how to do this programmaticly or via the registry (or even better via group policy)

Anyone attempted to this or at least know where the weather app location / city data is stored in the registry or in an ini file or something somewhere that I can modify via a script?

Answer:how to set location / city in weather app via registry?

I don't know where it is. But generally to detect a setting location in the registry you can run Regshot free utility before and after changing the setting.

I have the HP 15 TS Notebook PC running Windows 10.  When I open "The Weather Channel for HP" app, it is now showing a 2nd location that I did not create.  How do I delete this location?  When I click on the icon at the top right to "manage locations", the unwanted location (Phu Do, Vietnam) does not show icons to edit as my real location (Orlando, FL, USA) does.  When I click on settings in the lower left, it returns a screen that says "If you create a Weather Channel account you can customize your locations and settings..."  So, I created an account; however, it will not let me sign in to that account.  (Yes I did use the right email and password - even tried changing password with "forgot password?" feature.  It still wouldn't let me sign in.  So that route won't work.)  This Vietnam location was not previously on my computer.  Where did it come from and how do I get rid of it?  I accsess the Weather Channel for HP from an icon on my task bar. Has anyone else had this problem?  Everything else works just fine and my virus program is up to date. Thank you for your help.

i added Ambient weather app and my home location is not the current location chosen by the app.

Answer:I'm not located at the 'current location' : how should Ambient Weather app be set up?

If you mean for Windows 8, that usually means your internet provider is using an IP address associated with another physical location. The addresses get recycled and it is quite common for the databases to still reflect a different location. With Time Warner Cable, my "local" address in El Paso shows up as Kansas City in many apps. There are tips to "fix" but they are all as likely to do nothing as change it. My suggestion is to turn off the option to share location and just set the location in the app manually. BTW, it is not uncommon for some apps to reflect the correct location and others to show the wrong one. My impression is this is because some base location off more than one correlate and other just use the address tied to the ISP IP address.
If this is happening with a phone, it is probably a version of the same issue. I haven't encountered that myself but have heard some old complaints on the subject years ago. All phones obviously geolocate but it is at least possible some poorly designed apps may still grab location off a WIFI IP address. The Windows 8 location quirk is one I see all the time. In fact, if I turn on location services in any weather app, it will immediately give me the weather in Kansas City. I will give Cox Cable in Phoenix credit on that subject. All apps correctly identified my location as either Phoenix or Scottsdale when I lived in Scottsdale.

Answer:Changed Windows store app location but still downloading to my C drive

Hi, presumably you've followed this:
Apps Save Location - Change in Windows 10

Please post a screenshot to illustrate your setting.

Can you advise how you know the program is on C:?

Notes:
1. Installing universal apps on a different drive will give an error message if you need to do an in-place upgrade repair install. You will have to uninstall all such apps for that to proceed.
2. To save space on your SSD consider (e.g.)
- disabling hibernation
- moving all personal data to your other drive(s)

I have a 256Gb SSD and a great many programs installed: I have some 150Gb or more free. I don't use the default library folders.

Hi,

Try to remove the proxy server entry from the WinHTTP proxy configuration for Windows 7:

1.
Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start programs and files box.
2.
Right-click cmd.exe in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.
Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or click Continue.

I have The Weather app permissions set to allow it to display the weather on the lock screen. This has been working fine for some time -- up until now.

Now it only shows alerts, not the temperature. Any idea how to fix this?

Answer:Windows Weather and Lock Screen -- Weather not showing

To get the weather to show on the lock screen TWO things are needed:

Give the Weather app permision to access the lock screen.Tell the lock screen what you want to see.
I think number 2 is set up by default and I think I set up number 1 myself. This was enough to make it work.

Somewhere along the line I mucked up number 2. I do remember experimenting in that area.

hey. after i press my reset button in windows and windows starts to load, the computer will reset and then it takes like 3 reboots for windows to get back and running properly again. only happens after I reset it via the button. i just built this comp so could the connections be wrong? what's the go?

Answer:Pressing reset button causes windows serious error

How long have you had the problem? If it is only a recent problem, try doing a system restore. System restore allows you to return to a previous state of time, to usually when your computer was in a better state of working order. It may or may not correct your problem, however. Try this option under safe mode.[Click the start menu/tray > then to programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. (If your system restore settings are disabled then disregard the suggestion)

hello. several times when I am about to shut down my computer, after pressing the 'turn off computer' button, the system freezes for a moment and then i get the message: "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" with the 'send report' and 'don't send' buttons. I click on don't send and it seems that it re-runs explorer.exe and then i have to press turn off computer again, this time with no problem.

the weird thing is that it doesn't always give me this message. for example if i just start my computer and immediately shut it down, there is no error. it's only after using it for a long time so i guess that it may have something to do with a program or something!?

anyone having the same problem or has anything to suggest? please help, it's really annoying!!

thanx

Answer:Windows Explorer error after pressing Start -> Turn Off Computer!

Well you could turn off error reporting. That would probably make it go away.

Start > control panel > system > advanced tab > error reporting button >
uncheck Enable error reporting > ok, apply and exit.

Then just to be sure that Microsoft doesn't get stubborn on you, go to Start >
in the run menu, type in services.msc > navigate to the error reporting service and double click it > in the "Startup type" window, click on the drop down arrow and select Disabled >
Apply, ok and exit.

You won't see that error again.

Hey, I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't find the answer I was looking for after searching the forums.

I noticed that on Myspace, and other sites that display a location (Elk Grove, CA would be the correct location for me), I am displayed to be located in Rochester, NY, which isn't correct.

If somebody could tell me what this is and what I can do to remove it, I would appreciate that. Thanks.

Answer:Location changed...

I've been searching for about a week now and I can't find anything... any help would be great.

Me and my wife have a Lumia 925, Both were syncing photos in a folder in
OneDrive\Photos\From MyName phone\CameraRoll and OneDrive\Photos\From MyWifesName phone\CameraRoll. Today I plugged in again and the phone app begins with 'lets get started'. I press OK.
All my photo's are again synced but to a new location:
OneDrive\Pictures\CameraRoll .
So why? Where is the 'From xxxxx phone' ? And how do I get it back to the original location?
Thanks

I'm sure most of you know, but I just did a fresh install of Office 2010 without my previous install of 2007 and noticed that the pst location has changed to 'C:\Users\Name\Documents\Outlook Files\[email protected]'.
This is a very sensible move as a lot of users had no idea about the pst hidden away in 'AppData\Local\....'.
I wonder how that will affect some backup apps, etc.

Answer:MS Changed pst Location in 2010

Since most backup apps will also backup the documents folder, its not going to be a big issue. Its a GREAT change.

Hi All,
I'm new here and I think I messed up the post that I made. I had meant to say that all of a sudden I can't use windows installer service I get error code 8007641 or error code 641. I'm unsure why I'm not able to use windows installer anymore and I'm not able to get valuable updates from windows without it. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, were they able to come up with a solution? Thank you. This is my first day on the site and unsure how to get around on it, but it seems like it's an exciting site and I'm looking forward to using it.
Thanks,

Hi,
I run Windows 8 on my computer & use Google Chrome. When I am on Facebook and you want to up-load a photo, I used to just click on ?up-load? and the pc would automatically switch to your computer library where you choose the file and item you would like to upload. Well, that?s how it was.

Lately when I click on upload it switches to a different screen (blue) with only a few files showing up. Not workable files and they can?t open to select an item.

The other change that I noticed lately is that when I want to go on Google there is also a blue screen & I must click twice.

Hope this makes sense?
Thanks
Stephen

When I had to change the CMOS battery on my older Intel Pentium w/MMX for the first time a couple of months ago, I found that it is mounted vertically. This means that instead of using gravity to hold it securely in place as would be the case if it were horizontal, it relies solely on a flimsy little "arm" to hold it in the correct position.

Unfortunately this little "arm" is pretty puny and, although I replaced the battery as carefully as I could, the arm would no longer hold the battery in place. Since the arm is too flimsy to mess with, I was forced to fold a small piece of aluminum foil and wedge it between the battery and the arm.

That worked for a while but although the computer is located where it won't be bumped, within a few days the battery had become unseated (though not visibly) and my computer was only working sporatically.

As a last resort I turned the computer on its side so that the battery would rest horizontally, and it has worked beautifully ever since.

However, I am now without the use of my CD-ROM drive because, of course, now IT is vertical and the CD's just fall out no matter what I do.

As I said, it's an older computer but there's no way I can afford a newer one on my tiny income. Is it possible for a relative greenhorn like myself (in the computer hardware department anyway) to change the mounting for the CMOS battery from vertical-mount to horizontal-mount? The keyboard that comes with the HP Pavilion 510-p114 has a change in one of the locations of the keys.  The zero key on the number pad is always a double wide key located under the '1' key.  They moved it over.  It is now a single wide key located under the '2' key.  I cannot do 10 key by touch using this keyboard.

While trying to delete a file in command prompt I accidentally pressed enter after only typing
RD /Q /S "C:
So as you can imagine, this messed up my C: drive pretty badly as I effectively tried to wipe the whole drive. Luckily everything is still there as far as I can tell, except that it has moved. Where 'My Computer' once was, there is now 'This PC'.
Most importantly none of my programs will open because they can't locate the program files. That's everything from Control Panel to MS Word to my wallpaper. Nothing works
Would really really appreciate any help with how to fix this mess

Answer:Changed location of program files, now programs won't open

This PC is the new name for My Computer in Win 8.1, it probably was in Win 8 but I didn't pay that much attention to it.
If you double click on This PC can you see your C: Drive and if you double click on that can you see all the files such as Program Files and Windows etc?
Are all your User files also on C: or do you have the data on a different partition or hard drive?
If you can see all your documents, music, pictures, videos it may be simplest just to save all those to an external hard drive, or big USB memory stick, then re-install Windows 8 plus your programmes.
Or maybe you can get into Safe Mode and do a System Restore from that, or Last Good Configuration.

Machine owner did the free upgrade from 7 to Windows 10 believing it would solve the hardware problems he's been having; plus the whole "it's free" deal. Software doesn't fix failing hardware, so I'm having to upgrade/replace the hardware. I had planned to do a clean install of 7 and figured on an easy rebuild but now I am having to figure out 10 technicalities. I like to go over everything before jumping in.

Machine owner upgraded Windows 10 Pro with Local Account.

I had Windows 7 setup with User Profiles on secondary harddrive (F: drive) to avoid filling up the SSD C: drive. I found that Windows 10 upgrade appears to have reset the User Profile location to C: and the old Admin account appears to be permanently hidden. Windows 7 was setup with an Admin account and Power User account. While old data is staying in the F: folders, anything new is getting put on C:

So, I'm trying to figure out how to setup 10. I saw the tutorial about setting up User accounts during install and after (I will have to read it more thoroughly). It mentions that doing the profile move after may affect the start menu and search function?... Regardless, I'm stuck trying to figure this out.

Tell me if I'm wrong. I can rename the current F: drive User folders prior to install. Do the "during install" move creating new User Profile folders. Then move the old folder data to the new User folders?

Better were to back up the user data to external storage and wipe the disk, use Method One in above mentioned tutorial to clean install Windows 10 relocating the Users folder, then copy user data from external backup to new user folders.

When I open a file that is located in a passworded, shared directory on our Win 98 file server, make changes to the file and then try to Save As a new file name in same location I get the following error message: The folder (location string of the original opened file) isn't accessible. The folder may be located on an unavailable volume or protected with a password. This just started happening on one of our networked Win 2K machines after loading recent MS Updates from MS. How can I save the new, changed file to the same directory that I opened the original file from?

Answer:Solved: Unable to save a changed file to original net location

I uninstalled the latest MS update Rollup1 for SP4. This also solved a major computer slow down that also was encountered after the update. Obviously I'm not impressed with Rollup1 for SP4.

I have about 15 laptops running Windows 7 Pro SP1 (brand new, just out of the box).  I've been able to install quite a few updates on about 3 of them (just started working on them).  However, now, I'm getting error code 80200011 when I attempt
to install additional "required" updates.
I've tried clearing the BITS queue, deleting softwaredistribution folder and ran SFC and nothing came up as being an issue.  I've searched the net on this issue, but there doesn't appear to be much on this specific problem.  These systems
are behind a proxy server.  I have other (XP, Windows 2003) systems that are able to update, but is there an issue between WIn 7 and some proxy servers?  If so, why would I be able to install some updates?
Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks all.

Answer:Windows 7 Pro - Windows Updates Error Code: Code 80200011

Hi,
Chek that your proxy is configured correctly, and if you can follow these steps to resolve this issue : stop the Windows Update service and make sure that the "Backround Intelligent Transfer Service" and "Cryptographic service" are started and then go to
C:\Windows and rename the software distribution folder to UpdateOLD , and finally restart the Windows Update Service

In my IE history, there are links to two sites on hotels in a town on the beach in Germany, and links to a site (i think even it's the BBC) for the average monthly weather temperatures for that town? Or is it more likely a person was using my computer. My friend was traveling to Europe two week later, and they swear they weren't using it. But I also had a virus or trojan or something on my computer that same week when she was here and could have used my computer.I am just wondering which is more likely. Or if it is even possible that a virus or trojan could do this. And if so, has anyone heard of a virus which looks up hotels and weather temperatures for the same town? Or does anyone think this is absolutely ridiculous a virus would do this and this was a person looking up hotels on my computer before their trip abroad..they swear they were not using it, but the hotel is nearby a friend of theirs.Edit: Moved topic from Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs to the more appropriate forum, due the absence of any logs in topic. ~ Animal

Hello.I remember having this discussion with you on IRC. But, just for the record I'll post here too. While it's entirely feasible that a piece of malware could be written to do the tasks you mention, there's absolutely no reason why anyone would write such a program. Modern malware is concerned with making money above all else.~Blade

Hi, I have a Windows 7 Home premium Lenovo G780 Laptop 64bit with Intel i5 250 GHz CPU, 6 GB Ram with Intel HD Graphics 4000.  My Internet is Cable with average speed of 30 Mbps. I can not play any videos from CNN or get the Weather Channel to show me my local weather.  This is on all browsers (IE 11, Firefox & Chrome).  I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest versions of Adobe Flash Player as well as Shockwave.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled all 3 browsers - no change.  I've also tried in private mode on all 3 browsers and no difference.  I have also run a full virus scan (AVG and Malwarebytes) as well as SuperAntiSpyware, nothing comes up.I can access CNN Website but when I go to see a particular page that has video, the video player is just black and nothing happens.  I can access the main Weather Channel site but when I click on my bookmark or even try to access local weather, the upper tab shows a spinning circle  and it says "transferring data from g0.imwx.com.Any help anyone can give would be most appreciated. Turned on my comupter this morning and got the following errors: I have not opened the computer tower, I have not added or removed any drives:

Primary IDE channel NO 80 Conductor cable installed
Flopply Disk 40 missing

Then restarted system and got this message:
"cpu has been changed or CPU Ratio change failed"

Hit F1 to continue or DEL go to into setup

I have gone to CMOS set up and used f7 to optimize and hit f10 to save
come back with the third error.

this computer has always done a memory test when it starts up 99% of the time I let it run, total startup time if I do, 10minutes, if I skip memory test still 10 minutes.

Now slower than ever trying to start up

I have read your various threads and none I found discuss these errors just suddenly apprearing. This computer was a built from scratch by an IT friend of mine who has moved away I have all the documentation that came with it.

I have tried system restore back one week did not work, I was following ASK tech page guide and downloaded REGSERVO program came back with 6800 errors and wanted 39.00, well as you know the economy is in the tank and I do not have the extra money, but i do have the extra time if someone could walk me through what to do.

I use Norton utilities and clean the drive/registries/and explorer weekly.
Please send any advise possible
Thank you
NascarLady

Answer:sudden error message CPU has been changed or CPU Ratio changed failed

REGSERVO is a Rogue program that tells you, you have problems and "we will fix them for you for $39.00!" "But. Wait! for an extra amount for shipping and handling we will really screw your Windows installation up!"

Of course they make you wait until they find the registry errors to tell you that you have to pay $39.00. I just did a google search on REGSERVO and the only ones that give RegServo good reviews are, and hear is the drum roll, Regservo itself. Stay away from any of these programs that say they will fix your registry then want money to fix the problems they found.

Also there is no need to run any registry cleaner. More often than not it will not help your problem or speed up your computer, and can indeed break your registry to the extent of having to reinstall windows.

If this is the system in yur Computer specs, have you been having any problems with needing to adjust the date and time lately?

I've been experiencing a particularly frustrating problem since upgrading from Windows 10 Pro v1511 Build 10586.494 to v1607 Build 14388 a few days ago. In fact, this is the second time I've installed a preview build since I had the same issue going from Build 10586 to 14385 and decided to restore my backup.

The issue is odd because Windows is otherwise working fine. I have no crashes or stability issues, games, programs and apps all run as expected and the Windows Store is finding updates for apps and games and installing them. The issue relates ONLY to the Windows Store and its apps and games, Windows Update is apparently working fine (although at the moment it is only finding and updating Windows Defender anti-virus definition updates). The problem is if I attempt to install any Windows Store app or game when the storage location is anywhere but C: (I have the default apps location under Settings > System > Storage set to H then they fail after a small sub-1 MB download with error 0x80070005.

What I have determined is the following:

1. If I change the Storage location for apps back to C: (which is my Windows boot drive on an SSD by the way) then new apps and games will download fine, even those which previously repeatedly failed with error 0x800700005 when the location was set to H:.

2. The Windows Store seems to be able to update apps and games which were already installed before the Windows upgrade regardless of whether they are on C: or H:.

3. I am unable to ... Read more

Answer:Windows Store error 0x80070005 when using a different location to C:

Regarding the Account_Unknown entries in my opening post, I've seen these accounts in the security permissions of folders on my C drive but they just show as S entries (i.e. with the Account_Unknown() part).

I checked for updates on the Store this morning and it found 6 updates; 5 for apps on my C drive and 1 for Forza Motorsport 6: APEX, which is located on my H drive. Needless to say, all 5 apps on the C drive downloaded and updated fine but Forza again threw up the 0x80070005 error.

This issue is absolutely infuriating me at the moment. I know I could delete Forza and with the Storage location for apps set to C redownload. However, while it would update from my C drive I would be unable to move it to my H drive.

If I try to take ownership of the H:\WindowsApps folder then I get a failed message which, I believe, is due to the actual Microsoft.Apex folder because if I try to manually apply Administrators permissions to that folder then I get an error for every file in the folder.

Can anyone help me with this please?

(P.S. This issue still remains if I restore my v1511 backup for a week or so ago so it may not just be an issue specific to the Insider Preview builds after all.)

Hello all,

I have a problem with Windows Update agent on Windows 7 SP1 enterprise.
We are using Configuration Manager 1606 and Windows 7 SP1 and about 140 computers works without any problem.
On the other 10 computers I got the following error message in the windowsupdate.log:
WARNING: SyncUpdates failure, error = 0x8024400D, soap client error = 7, soap error code = 300, HTTP status code = 200
WARNING: SOAP Fault: 0x00012c
WARNING:     faultstring:Fault occurred
WARNING:     ErrorCode:InvalidParameters(7)

I've tried several actions although none does any help. Here is the list of actions:
- upgrade windows update agent to the latest version
- windows update agent reset by this instructions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/971058/how-do-i-reset-windows-update-components
- empty Temporary Internet files
- check the rules and blocked traffic on windows firewall and physical firewall between server and workstation vlan
- sfc /scannow

It looks like significant Windows 7 error, although reinstalling is not my option.

Thanks for any help!

App will display weather for any city I choose .... but will not display the weather map when I select the icon.

Answer:How to fix MS weather app when it doesn't display weather maps?

Welcome to Windows Central.
We may need more information. What particular city are you looking for? What OS and device are you referring to?
At any rate, I've just checked my MS Weather app for Windows 10 and for Windows Phone 8.1 and both are able to display maps. Have you checked your bandwidth - it just may be taking some time to load the maps.
You may create a Windows Central account to respond in this thread.

it says I am a few miles away from where i am really at.

Answer:Windows 10 map showing wrong location, how can I get it to show the correct location?

If the device you're using doesn't have cellular or GPS, then it will attempt to figure out where you are based on your IP address, which can be off by a few thousand feet or a several hundreds of miles.
I have an external USB GPS receiver for my Laptop. I have also noticed that if I use the Internet Sharing feature to give Internet to my laptop, then it will pick up my correct location from my phone's GPS.

Hi there all,

I was given a PC to reinstall W7 on yesterday and I have had numerous problems.
At first it wouldn't let me delete any partitions on the "Where do you want to install Windows" set up screen.

I managed to erase one of their partitions and selected to install on to it, it goes to the next stage but as soon as it gets to 0% installing Windows after 'copying files' I got an error code:
0x80070002

So I completely formatted the HDD using Active Kill Disk which took around 6 hours, I go to install it again which now shows as "Disk 0 Unallocated Space" but as soon as I click on "next" it gives me this message:

"Windows is unable to install to the selected location. Error:0x80300024"

After a fair bit of research I've seen a number of people suggesting that it could be down to another SATA hard drive or SATA device connected but there are no other devices connected apart from the main hard drive and an IDE DVD drive.

The computer was working fine before with Windows 7 already installed on it, my customer just wanted it refreshed.

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be, could it be that the hard drive is faulty? Active Kill Disk usually picks up on these things but it ran through its process OK.

I really want to be able to do this for my customer and any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I try to install to Drive 0 to the fourth partition on that drive, I get the following error - "Windows is unable to install to the selected location. Error: 0x80300024." This happens whether I create the primary partition with Vista, or with the Windows 7 RC install disk. I have tried reducing the size of the partition a bit and still get this error. I was also getting this same error with the Windows 7 Beta. This drive is a 1 terrabyte Western Digital SATA II. I also have 2 other SATA II drives in this system.

GregB1- You said "I want it on Disk 0 so I can have a dual boot setup . I don't want to lose my original Vista Ultimate installation since this is not a production OS yet." That is what you want. With all that space on discs x,y,z,etc, etc, etc. why don't you just install W7RC to disk1 or disc2? You would still have dual boot. Anyway, it worked for me. And I dual boot Vista Home Basic 32bit with W7RC Ultimate 64bit. Leave disc0 to Vista, I say.Regards from the Valley of the Sun.

In Windows Photo Gallery when right clicking on an image and selecting Open File Location an error pops up with a title of EXPLORER.EXE and message

It appears Photo Gallery is not passing the directory name to Explorer so I suspect a corrupted/missing registry key. Can anybody help?

Thanks.
