IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - what does this error and how do I solve it?

Question: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - what does this error and how do I solve it?

win10 builds 10856 suddenly reloads many times and give me various messages about errors IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, then another time video_shedullar_internal_errors, 3-d Prodess_initualisation_failed, 4- 0x000021a, 5 - critical_process_died_ 6 - system_process_misuse. How can I solved all these problems. Thank you very much for Your work. Nikolai Skorokhodov. Russia

Preferred Solution: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - what does this error and how do I solve it?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I keep getting the blue screen of death with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL MESSAGE after trying to update my modem firmware. The modem is a Creative Labs Modem Blaster v.92 Serial (DE5621).

I uninstalled my modem, went to reinstall it, and as soon as XP detected it, the system locks up and I get this message on my my screen. I turned my modem off, and no errors - XP runs fine. I go to install the modem again, I get the same message. I tried playing around with all the different possible IRQ settings, and even disabled all the other ports and my internal PCI modem (for backup in cases like this!) and it still happens. Any help would be appreciated. My modem worked fine in my old system with XP Home, and it worked fine in XP Pro up until a few days ago and I don't know what happened to it

Unfortunatly IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is a very generalized error however it usually occurs when 2 or more devices are trying to write to the same memory space which as you can imagine could be problem causing.

FIX go to system info and see that your modem is the only device on the IRQ it is using. Chances are the old modem is logged in there too and needs to be removed.

If that doesnt work try booting without the modem installed uninstall all the drivers for the modem then shut the system off reinstall the modem and reinstall the drivers.

One of these things should fix the proble... Read more

I have tried a system refresh and nothing works. This error is on a Toshiba Satellite C55-B5200.

What make and model are your components?

I've worked with a couple of newer Gigabyte motherboards that throw this error because of the integrated Marvell Yukon Gigabit ethernet (which in all cases I've seen only works at 10 mbit/s, half duplex). The solution in these cases was to disable the integrated ethernet in BIOS and install a new PCI eth card.

I built a new computer this last week and I booted up and installed WXP service pack 3, I don't have all the updates yet, but I'm getting there. I have the most current updates for my Nvidia drivers and my bios. I have internet working, currently using it, but I have been having blue screen crashing problems with the error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. The BSOD usually occurs when I am heavily using the internet, such as watching Youtube or using Utorrent. A couple times the computer just froze. The "trigger" seems to be either the internet or my USB connections. I have a lot of things plugged into the USB: keyboard, mouse, printer, external drive, and my wireless internet adapter is also USB. Sometimes after this error occurs I fail POST and my computer turns on but doesn't boot. Usually just turning it off for awhile fixes this. I have opened up my computer and checked all the connections and reseated my RAM. Please help me, I am really stuck and this is a brand new computer that cost me a lot to build. The blue screen happened again when my wife was using the internet: she had two pages open at the same time, one was the final screen of an online purchase that was done loading and the other was the myspace homepage that blue screened in the middle of loading. I took a picture of the blue screen with my digital camera and it is attached to this post. The computer works fine other than this stupid error, I installed Bioshock and have played more than six consecutive hours of it on the highest graphics settings and there were never any errors while playing. Other than Bioshock I haven't installed any other programs for fear of messing up this bug worse. There are programs that came with my hardware setup disks that I have installed, let me know if you need to know what these are. Thanks to anyone who helps me.[attachment deleted by admin]

Last night my computer froze on preparing to configure windows updates. I had to resort to a hard rest, since then I have been getting a BSOD.
I have tested each ram disk by removing one at a time, this doesn't seem to be the problem.
I have ran a driver verifier and it is coming up with an hidclass.sys error.

A few things I've tried:
I've system restored to before the BSOD appeared and that worked fine, I then however installed the updates from windows update. Upon restart I now get a BSOD, also now for some reason I can't see the working system restore on the list and am stuck. All other restores cause the BSOD.

I have a feeling it has to do with the updates but I can't open windows update in safe mode so don't know what to do. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've attached all the dump files, the general BSOD, and the driver verifier dump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have important uni work that needs to be done

EDIT: Also I forgot to mention that this occurs after the welcome screen.

Hi,

Ive been having lots of memory issues with my computer, I'm running vista 64bit with 6 gigs of memory (complete specs are in my specs tab) and I keep getting various BSODs. The most recent one was while I was playing left 4 dead, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. They crop up fairly regularly while using the computer even when I'm not playing games or surfing the internet. Ive attached the dump:

Mini101109-02.zip

Anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks, Lucien

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Memory Error

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL usually means driver conflict. Use this program (before trying any solutions) to help you diagnose where the issue lies.

I would normally suggest:
1. Try a different RAM configuration (use only 2GB RAM instead of 6)
2. Reinstall drivers (start with graphics)

Don't forget to post back.

Hi Abarden,

Welcome to the Seven Forums!

I'm going to need 1 more log file to deduce the problem.

Please follow the steps below:
Go to: Start > Type: msconfig.exe - Press Enter
Go to the tab 'Boot'
Bottom of the window there are check-boxes, tick the one called 'Boot log'
Press Apply/OK
Shutdown the PC
Wait 10 seconds
Turn on PC
Go to - C:\Windows and find a file called ntbtlog.txt
Upload this file to this thread
Once you have uploaded the file, I will take a look and we'll see what we can do from there.

About a week ago I was burning a cd for a friend and my computer turned off. I thought maybe I knocked the power cord out or some other power related problem. I checked and made sure the connections were fine and restarted my pc. It got to the XP loading screen, ran scandisk and then continued booting. Right after scandisk it flash a blue screen and restarted. It did this constantly. Well I gave up for a week until I could get an XP cd. I ran Recovery Console and it asked what instalation Id like to boot (dont Know why I only have one OS...) and it tried to boot and showed this stop error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

[some filler text about how to solve the problem...]

***Stop: 0x0000000A (0x0A27000D, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x801C63C0)

Id tried to find some support around the net. Found some similiar problems which said to run Recovery Console and copy over a new kernel32.dll but I cant get that far in Recovery Console since it just shows the stop error.

Does anyone have any Idea how to fix this? I've been considering just formatting it and installing XP again but I dont wanna get a different product key thats not mine. Its kind of scares me...

Well thanks for your help.

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop error

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Your product key should be on the outside of the case. Have you tried a Repair install instead of using the Recovery Console?

Set the computer to boot from cd first in the BIOS
Place the xp cd in cdrom and reboot
Boot from the xp cd and choose install
Ignore the first repair option and continue with install
When windows finds the previous installation and offers to repair
then do the repair
If you have xp sp2 installed it needs to be incorporated into your xp disk or it will not offer the repair option only the clean install

Okay, first off I am new here so hello. I'm Kossae. I hope to be of great help to other people on this forum myself, but I found this place due to searching through this error on Google. For those unfamiliar with the error:

While working, randomly a blue screen pops up with the top stating "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" with a bunch of gibberish in the middle. Below it says "Starting Crash Dump" or something of the sort, and counts its way up to 100% before the computer restarts and works correctly upon starting windows again. However, this error still occurs every time when working in audio applications (as I do very regularly).

Anyway, through my research I seem to have found that people say this is due to memory problems, video card issues, or joysticks/peripherals. However, I have tried to fix all of these issues and I am still getting this error (namely when I am producing/mixing music in a more cpu intensive environment). I finally cracked open my IRQ list and found a RIDICULOUS amount of Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System entries. My screenshot posted is a horizontal cascade of all of the captures as I scroll down my IRQ list. Obviously this doesn't look too normal, and I was wanting some input before I did something like uninstall all of these.

First run CHKDSK on C: Drive to fix any File System errors.
Then do a System Restore to restore the system back to a previous state.
If its still not working, test the Memory using the Bootable Memtest CD www.memtest.org
If the memory passes 3 passes, then you may need to backup your data and run Toshiba Recovery.

STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0A050029, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804E7808)

I know this type of error could be hardware related (RAM) or the CPU overheating. I have not had any serious problems since I bought the notebook in April and I wasn't doing anything the day before that could cause this error ( ie. adding hardware, changing settings, etc.). The error occurs when I boot up regularly and in safe mode. I tried using last known good config. but that didn't work either.

I will get as far as the Windows logo and then it changes to the BSOD.

How can I fix this since I really don't want to have to open the case or send it back to the company.

Thanks

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error on startup

Is there a file name under this? Maybe a newly installed driver or software could cause the problem.

Just found a link about 0xA errors:
http://www.updatexp.com/stop-messages.html

Here's a part of what they're telling:

The Stop 0xA message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel interrupt request level (IRQL) that was too high. A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own. This Stop message is typically due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software.

Hello everyone,
My computer has recently been getting blue screen errors and they are getting more frequent. On the blue screen it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Attached is the .dmp for each. Please help me!

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD error

Error 0xA can be caused by either a bad device driver or hardware issues. The driver it cited was a Vista core driver which isn't much help at this time. So, I suggest reading the sticky in this particular Windows OS forum by Julio entitled "Before Posting Your Minidumps..." Follow the advice given

I suggest starting with MemTest to see if it might be your RAM.

IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

This problem can be driver related so have you tried Safe Mode?

I started to have a BSOC come right after my XP logo splash screen. It comes up and leaves very quickly but I see that it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on it.
It then reboots and goes into the same loop, BSOD, reboot.

I am not able to access Safe Mode. I have changed my RAM and video card.

Any suggestions to get out of this loop would be appreciated.

Edit: I just realized I placed this into the wrong forum.

Hi

Would appreciate some help with this. Have a Windows 7 Pro x64 system that has been running well for a good number of years. Inevitably had been getting a little slower but nothing I couldn't live with, although had started to think about a re-install.

However, a few weeks ago started to get BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Just happens 'randomly' whilst I'm in middle of stuff, never so far at start up. Was having to do a hard reboot each time.

Decided over last weekend to to a complete re-install in the hope that it would sort it, but alas no. Tonight, two days after re-install, got it again. But this time machine gracefully restarting.
Ran BlueScreenView results from first windows minidump on this install, attached.
DMLog Collector results, attached
Machine spec as per profile

Any help greatly appreciated.

Only other things that I can think of are that one of my case fans has been making noises for some while, but only when it it running hard immediately after start up. The it quietens very quickly. I checked my BIOS temps and they seemed ok as far as I can tell. Haven't checked them recently though. Will check them again now.

Also system has been overclocked from when I bought it in 2009. Not a recent change.

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, error 0x0000000a

Temps
System Temp 39 degrees C
CPU 37 degrees C
MCH (assuming this is mobo or processor core...?) 42 degrees C

Fanspeeds

System 670

Have just enabled fan failure warning in BIOS to identify which fan is on the blink.

Don't think it is necessarily relevant but who knows:
System has been encrypted for years with Trucrypt 7.1a System drive encryption, plus disk encryption of both data disks.

My computer just recently got an "BSOD irql_not_less_or_equal", how can I fix it or determine the cause of it? Also when I restarted my computer, it just appeared as an black screen and took 10-15 minutes to load, not sure if that had anything to do with the BSOD error or not

Answer:BSOD irql_not_less_or_equal error

The black screen may be related to the BSOD - but we have to fix the BSOD first.
If the black screen remains, then we'll troubleshoot it.

I have had a stop error screen saying to check any new hardware or software is properly installed. I haven't installed any. As directed I did restart my computer and everything is fine now, but am worried as to why this has happened.

The only worry is that my granddaughter was using it yesterday and when I checked the history at the time she was using the computer there seems to be lots of photos on Facebook that she has looked at. Do all the photos of her friends she looks at get downloaded on my computer? Can the Error be due to this? Also can I delete these from my computer?

Be glad of your help before taking it to the technician. Thanks Mavis

Answer:Stop error irql_not_less_or_equal

I do not think that Internet temporary files has to do anything with this errors. You can delete the files. By going to tools menu > internet Options > click on the button delete under browsing history > check all the options > click ok
Or, you can download a CCleaner and delete all the tmeporary files in your computer. You can donwload it from here

Regarding the error, you can run chkdsk in commnad prompt. To command promtp
go to Start menu > Run > type cmd > enter >
in command prompt type the following command and restart your computer
chkdsk c: /f/r
That's it, hope this fix your issue.

Irql_not_less_or_equal bsod error

I removed avast after that and I didn't get any more errors.
But I don't want to use any other antivirus other than avast. I find it good and comfortable.
Microsoft security essential takes a lot of time to update itself which almost eats my internet connectivity.

Is there any other way to solve this problem so that I can continue using Avast.

Answer:Irql_not_less_or_equal bsod error

You were correct in Avast! causing the blue screens (at least that particular one), specifically it was the Avast network security. If you're really bent on using Avast anti-virus, perhaps try installing just the anti-virus suite and not the network protection; Windows firewall generally does an okay job with that alone. Since it is network related, it may be worth it to update your network drivers if you haven't already done so.

Hi,

I've had my computer since November this year. In January I had the same problem, but it went away when I installed new graphics drivers. Now the problem is back. I do have a lot of software installed on here, but nothing that was not installed before the stop errors. So I have run Memtest86+ off my GParted CD for 1.5 hours, came up with no errors. I used CCcleaner to fix some broken .DDL's, and that was about 5 minutes ago, so I will see how that works out. Here is my build, thank you to all who took the time to read this.

nVidia nForce 610i/GeForce 7050 Chipset Mobo
Q6600, was OC to 2.8GHz at first stop error restored it to 2.4.
4GB 667MHz Crosshair RAM
500GB Hitatchi HDD
GeForce 9500GT
Ultra 650W LSP

I did recently install a new CPU FHS, but that keeps the CPU cooler - can't see why that would cause the issue. Its a Xiggy 12cm Rifle Cooler.

And the full stop error

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000000000000008, 0x000000000000002, 0x000000000000000, 0XFFFFF800023366137)

Hi Broken,

Welcome to the Forum.

You could check that all Hardware is sitting properly you might have disturbed something when you put the cooler in.

Check temps anyway it is possible that the new cooler is affecting something else, Maybe go back to the old cooler for a while.

Check all drivers.

I hope this helps

hey guys,
I'm helping a friend with his laptop. He suddenly started getting the IRQL_Not_Less_or_equal error when booting. It just goes to a blue screen right after the xp logo and after MUP.Sys if you try to boot to safe mode. I'm not sure where else to go to. I assumed it was just a bad XP install but if I boot off the XP CD I get the same thing right after I choose to Install or Repair (either). I ran a MemTestV4 and everything passed. I've ran the Fujitsu hard drive checker which reports that the drive is fine. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a Surface Pro 4 which I recently performed a factory reset on, and then after reinstalling all of my programs (of which there were few) I then downloaded the Windows Media Creation Tool and updated my SP4 to the Anniversary Update. Since then, when I initially boot up my SP4, after the login screen appears and Windows Hello initiates and looks for my face, Windows crashes, giving me IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. When it reboots, it works just fine. It's only during the initial startup.
After some brief googling, I found out this error is almost always caused by bad drivers. I have very few applications installed on here, so the list of culprits is very short. What program do you recommend to track down the bad driver?

I've had my new PC build for a month now with no issues, and after logging into the same game (World of Warcraft) that I have been playing since I build my machine. I have started to receive IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error at random, so far it has only been twice.

I copied and pasted the bug-check info that I got here as well, wondering if anyone could offer any advice, I have not yet done a test with MemTest yet, but that is my next step to see if it shows any errors.
If anyone has any thoughts on this I would appreciate it, I'm down to either it being a driver issue, or my memory going bad, as everything seems to work just fine, and the only bsod that I have had is when I am gaming.

I recently purchase an ASUS M51AD desktop and my new desktop has been randomly restarting on me. When this happens a blue screen pops up and there is an error message stating "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". Any suggestions on how I may fix this? It has been quite frustrating since I literally purchased this desktop less than a month ago. Thanks.

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message

Hello, if you have a 30 day return on the machine you should take it back to the store, if not you should contact Acer tech support. That error is usually caused by a driver or incompatible hardware or software, I have run into a few of these that had a bad hard drive. You should also go into the Advanced System Settings, in the Startup and Recovery section, click the Settings button and uncheck the box for an Automatic Restart, so the next time you get a BSOD you will have time to take a photo and write down the exact stop message. Also look at your default location for the crash dump. ASUS tech support might need you to send it over for them to look at it.

I tried searching for the solution everywhere but still sitting empty handed.
I formatted and reinstalled the OS and still not able to get rid of it.

I got a new RAM into my system recently of hynix company(512 MB). I replaced the slots but still the problem is there.
I also checked the memory using memtest for 18 straight hours but I got no errors.
I uninstall IDM and updated a new version as previous which was 6.02 was having a serious flaw of getting BSOD errors. I updated to 6.03 version but still I am not able to throw this problem out of my life.

I have attached the minidump files which I searched out.

Answer:please help me to solve BSOD error

These are STOP 0x124 errors - which are generated by the CPU and then reported to Windows. Not very easy to read.

That being said, they are most often related to hardware failures or compatibility issues.
Have you run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor (free here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...e-advisor.aspx ) to see if that's an issue?

Have you added any new hardware/software recently that might be causing a problem?

Question: Solve Backup Error

Using Backup & Restore, this is the third night I got backup errors (red X), but the first time I saw the message.

"Backup failed on shadow copy on source volume got deleted. Might be caused by high write activity on the volume.
retry backup.. Consider increasing shadow copy storage using VSSADMIN resize shadow storage command.
Error code 0x80780169."

Retrying will be futile. Somebody suggested increasing the volume to 15%. There is very little information online.
Any suggestions? Should I increase the volume? I have never gotten this message in the years that I have been using Backup & Restore.

I am just supposed to be backing up my files; not creating an image, unless it copies to the disk regardless of what I choose to send to external drive.

In Event Viewer there were at least a half-dozen messages that the oldest volume was deleted. According to "Manage your space," I think I have one image on the drive and another image in backup, but I don't know if I can trust the info.

Thank you.

So I started getting this issue where my computer randomly reboots

irql_not_less_or_equal
stop: 0x0000000A (0x09488E80, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80515409)

After looking online I heard that often it is caused by the CPU overheating, but I cleaned it and am still getting the same problem.

This started happening after I reformatted my computer (with Windows XP: Home edition - which I then used windows update to get service pack 3)

I also heard that a program called Registry Mechanic can help - but when I download it and try to install it I am told that the file is corrupted (I uninstalled and tried again but same issue) Regestry Mechanic worked fine with the dl and installation on my laptop though.

Been stuck on this for ages... Please help

Computer specs:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU
000 @ 2.13GHz
2.18GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

P.S. My google chrome keeps crashing as well - not sure if this is related?

EDIT: I should have read stikies before posting - but it doesn't solve my problem
It doesn't say in the blue screen what device is causing it (I just triggered one and checked)
I'm going to check my drivers etc. now, but any extra help would be appreciated

EDIT (again):
So I just got a different error message

irql_not_less_or_equal
stop: 0x0000000A (0xA9392008, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80523921)

Hello all.

I have come to this forum because of a problem that has been troubling me so much lately.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and every now and then I get a BSOD. I didn't know what was the problem, but I suspected that the hard drive was bad. I ran the CHKDSK and everything but it didn't solve the problem. I then bought a new hard drive, an SSD one and I bought it two weeks ago. It ran smoothely but after a couple of days it still pops up a BSOD. Please help I don't know what to do anymore. I did a clean re-install of the system a week ago but it didn't help. I didn't overclock anything, everything is on its normal speeds and temperatures.

My computer configuration is:

Asus P5B motherboard SATA1
Intel Core2Duo E7600 @ 3.06 GHZ
Geforce GTS250 /w 512 MB GRAM with the latest drivers
Mushkin SSD 64GB
4GB RAM Kingston HyperX DDR2

In the zip file are the WhoCrashed Reports, minidumps and a System Report File.

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Hi everyone. I've been getting this blue screen of death quite infrequently, maybe once a fortnight, but it's happened often enough that I would really like to get it fixed. I've tried to get to the bottom of this by myself but I've reached the limit of what I can Google. I ran the error dump through WinDbg and it spat this out at me:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.

bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 80502367, address which referenced memory

Answer:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen error

The process referenced is the java environment, which is pretty stable, so I doubt that's the direct cause. The ntkrpamp.exe is the NT kernel, and it seems that one of the common causes of ntkrpamp.exe BSODs is faulty memory. Have you upgraded or changed your memory recently?

Aloha,
I'm trying to make a new install of WIN7 on a new Corsair SSD.
My prior OS on this machine was WINXP PRO. The Maxtor 80GB HDD that XP was loaded on died.
I used the opportunity to upgrade memory from 4GB to 8GB of Samsung DDR2 800Mhz. on my existing mobo Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H, v1, upgrade the video card to Radeon HD 6750, and replaced the HDD that WINXP_PRO was loaded on with the SSD above. The CPU is AMD Phenom QuadCore 2.3GHz
On another machine I downloaded the WIN7 BIOS drivers from Gigabyte to a flash drive and performed a BIOS update per the GB user manual. The BIOS is v.f2 dtd 01/01/09
At this point the video card has been pulled and the BIOS changed to onboard video. All other peripherals and cables have been disconnected except the HDMI cable to the monitor.
The error msg also says "...Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software mfg.for any WINDOWS updates you might need..."
The only new hardware plugged in is the SSD currently operating as IDE not SATA. There was no installation information for it. Prior to buying, I asked GB tech support if the mobo would support it
The only new software are the GB driver updates for the BIOS.
Does anyone have any recommendations to fix this?
Mahalo-n-aloha...konadon

Answer:New install WIN7 error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

What driver updates ? Did you need them ?

Have you tried running with just 4 Gigs ?

Does the installer work 100% ? Have is it been tested ? Try installing in SATA mode.

I've had these failcodes since a week or so ago, as I put in some new RAM and a pci-e dvbs2 tuner card. Thought it was the Tv-card at first so I plugged it out, but the BSOD remained.
Hmm, bad RAM then I thought and switched back to my old ones. BSOD remains!

Looked at the new memory sticks specs, and changed the voltage to 1.65V in BIOS, as specified by Kingston. Makes no difference...

note: I can boot up Win7 in safemode except with network, BSOD there too...

could not make a "perfmon /report" though (cause of safe mode?)

You can start by removing sptd.sys it is a huge cause of BSOD's

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

Recently I went to install a new secondary hard drive and after I connected it, my computer wouldn?t boot. After clearing the CMOS the computer booted fine ? yet now I get daily blue screens.

Things I have done since the problem started:

? Removed the new HDD
? Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic (no errors returned)
? Reinstalled Windows

I haven?t noticed a trend of when they are happening (usually just web browsing, nothing intensive)

Specs:
Window 10 64bit Pro
Gigabyte GA970A-UD3P
HyperX FURY 8GB DDR3 1866
EVGA GTX 960
AMD FX8350 4.0 ghz
Corsair CX750m
Adata 256 GB SSD (boot drive)
Mostly the blue screen errors are IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but I also saw MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

I attached the dump file and other info that was collected to this post.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I get the ?Windows is loading files? message and then it locks to a blue screen: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (Followed by some MS text about booting in safe mode). Some Tech information:***STOP : 0x000000D1, (ox00000000,0x00000002, 0x000000000, 0x80c04395)*** nvstor.sys - Address 80c04395 base at 80c00000, datestamp 46671a61Well I know the nvstor.sys is an Nvidia file, but my problem is way before I can even get to working on that part of the problem.Basically by booting to the disk, I was hoping that I could at least get into Windows safe mode. However, I'm hung at this error before I even get there.I'm not sure what my next step is. I have no idea how I can get into my PC to begin the driver resolution troubleshooting, there seems to be no opportunity to press F8 to select the safe mode option. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Stated in the title, I've been receiving BSODs with the following: Irql_not_less_or_equal. After reading in various forums, it seems to be a common issue. I personally refreshed and did a complete new installation to no avail and hoping for some guidance here.

I attached the SF Diagnostic info as per "Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions ."
Hopefully it's enough info to help.

I receive it generally randomly, I never receive it while I'm playing games, but I do receive it (occasionally) when trying to load it. The game would hang while loading it and I'm forced to close it through task manager. BSOD would occur after force close. Most of the time it's from idling or watching video via Youtube.

-Michael

Answer:Laptop BSODs with error Irql_not_less_or_equal.

Only 1 memory dump in the uploaded files. If using a cleaning program (such as CCleaner), please stop while we're troubleshooting.

Only 32 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

The lone memory dump blames video
As this occurs despite a reinstallation of Windows, I'd have to suspect hardware.
But it's also possible that this is a driver issue (STOP 0xA errors are mostly caused by drivers).

So, let's hit it with a 3 pronged approach:
1) Update the nVidia video drivers to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version (from the Lenovo website). To do this, download a fresh copy of the drivers, uninstall the current drivers, then install the freshly downloaded drivers.
2) Please run these free hardware diagnostics (start with the video tests first); Hardware Diagnostics
3) Please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Also, check for updates for your Logitech GamePanel/Keyboard drivers (LGVirHid.sys and LGBusEnum.sys)
. These date from 2009 and should be updated.

Hello there:
Since the Windows 10 Creators fall update, I’ve been having daily BSODs, sometimes twice daily. I have updated my network drivers on seeing the fault lay with tcpip.sys (at least that is what I gathered when the screen goes blue).
I have included the SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip, the dump file from Windows\Minidump. Running Speccy gives this URL: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/nXXDEIWOoo0UCVix1QLbHyP
I will run the tests in step 4 of the BSOD instruction page now.
Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this.

Answer:BSOD, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, error in tcpip.sys

PS.: The error code is actually DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. My apologies.

Hey,

I am getting a BSOD since one week randomly with the message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. BlueScreen Viewer showes me, that it is caused by the driver ntoskrnl.exe. Before I got this BSOD I updated my Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1.1 . Since this time, this error happens randomly!

My system specs are the following:

Laptop: Asus S400 CA
CPU: Intel Core I5 3317 U @ 1,70 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics: Intel HD Grpahics 4000
Mainbord: Asustek S400 CA
Antivirus: Avast! Internet Security (Version: 140512-0)

Before I got this IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR _EQUAL error I also got the BSOD Driver_Power_State_Failure. I figured out, that it might be the Bluetooth Driver, as buescreenviewer stated the driver causing the error is btfilter.sys.

I attached also a SF Diagnostic Tool File!

I would be glad and happy about some help, since BSOD?s are annoying

Thank you very much

Cheers Fabi

Your two latest dumpfiles blames Probably caused by : WinFLAdrv.sys ( WinFLAdrv+34f2 )
This is the driver Related to WinFLAdrv.sys Service Application from NewSoftwares.net and probably related to Folder Lock 6.
Your driver dates from WinFLAdrv fffff800`f398d000 fffff800`f3999000 Mon Nov 14 14:41:13 2011 (4ec11a79) 00010744 None WinFLAdrv.sys
And is probably not windows 8.1. compatible, please update to windows 8.1. compatible driver.

Hello,

Recently, about a week, I have been facing issues with my laptop.
It seems that it randomly crashes showing BSOD and restarting.

The most common error message is:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

But when the computer fails to boot up after several forced reboots due to the above BSOD, sometimes I get other error messages:

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

or

BAD POOL HEADER

*Note1: Currently I am running my laptop in "Safe Mode" as this is the only way the system will not crash.
[I am guessing this means the issue is related to driver(s) malfunctioning]

*Note2: Computer have crashed over five times, but I have noticed that at least during three times before it had crashed a message poped up from Intel Rapid Storage Technology stating that an unknown drive has been removed or disconnected.
[I rephrased the message because I do not remember it]

My laptop: Lenovo G510
OS: Win 8.1 64-bit
CPU: intel i7-4700MQ
GPU: AMD Radeon? 8570M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB

Thanks in advance

Here is a summary of the BSOD information:

Bug Check String: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Bug Check Code: 0x0000000a
Caused By Driver: ntoskrnl.exe

Here is a summary of my system:

- Windows 7 Professional x64
- Original OS was Windows Vista 32-bit
- Current OS is full retail version
- Computer is 4 years old
- Windows 7 was installed on it 3 years ago

I've attached the requested files.

Thank you in advance for any help.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption probably a driver.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have a Raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver Verifer

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition.
Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is.
But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver.
Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows.
If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise.
Then make a System Restore point (so you can r... Read more

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo e6700
Motherboard: ASUS Commando
Video Card: ATI x1900 XTX
RAM: 2 1GB sticks of OCZ PC6400 for a total of 2GBs of physical memory
Hard Drives: 2 500GB Maxtor Sata2
OS: Vista Ultimate

Okay the computer is sweet, but I really wanted to be able to game and decode video at the same time, and sometimes listen to music. So I decided to add more RAM. I got two sticks of 1 GB of the same kind of RAM. When I boot up the RAM seems like it?s there. But when I go into Task Manager, there?s only 3 GB of memory showing!

So then I thought, ?I?ll just reinstall Vista because maybe it?s my OS.? So I get the DVD you gave me and I start the installation, and it stops and I get an error that is something like this:

STOP 0x0000000A - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Now I can?t even reinstall Vista! I think there?s something wrong with my motherboard!

I have attached some screen shots as well

I have done an image reboot to default programs only removing my files after backup. I am currently installing a new Image so I can use the repair tool.
Chkdsk / f didn't work
sfc /scannow didn't find any problems
I even have updated my drivers through auto search but to no avail.
I get Bad Pool IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error and now Kernel Security Check Failure error
