I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS8300 with a DW1501 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini Card. I noticed that it drops Ethernet connection. If I reboot the modem/router, it works for the day but when I power down and bootup the next day, the connection defaults to wireless.  Dell swapped out the motherboard a few years ago, when the pc was still under warranty. They said it had a known issue where the integrated half cards had an issue.  It worked fine since then but I read articles that this is happening to people who upgraded to Windows 10.  I upgraded last year and this started about a  month ago.  Does anyone know if this issue is related to driver or if it is hardware?  Thanks!

Hi,I have a Lenovo G500 windows 8.1 with Broadcom 802.11n network adapter.I cannot get the WLAN to start. The message I get is ?This device cannot start (Code 10)?.I have tried updating the drivers with various different ones. Deleting the device and rebooting to see if it will pick up the correct driver. Doing a system restore. Installing any Windows updates that were outstanding. The thing is the wireless was working fine earlier today, it just seems to have suddenly stopped. When I try to install new drivers I get a message window saying ?Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while trying to install it?.Any ideas and help would be greatly appreiciated. One other thing, I did see a similar problem elsewhere on the internet and the advice was in the adapter properties to change the WMM setting to disabled. I did this and it did correct the problem and the WI-Fi started working again for a day or so, but I now seem to be back to square one. The issue is not with the router as all other devices in our household operate fine. I am getting desparate and maybe thinking it could be a hardware fault which might need replacing. I would be grateful for any help anyone could give me please Thanks Steve

Answer:Lenovo G500 Windows 8.1 64bit, Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Adapter "Not Starting"

Hi sjemerton ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This device cannot start (Code 10) message is generic and may also indicate possible hardware failure .
Fastest way to isolate software versus hardware issue is doing factory reset but would delete everything and reimage it back the way it was from out of box condition along with appropriate drivers intended for the pc.

Before deciding on a full reset , you can try uninstalling all drivers for the WLAN card from the device manager but before restarting , configure driver update to never  . Install WLAN driver from the website or D:Lenovo/drivers if still available.

After installation , go back to device manager and change properties of the WLAN driver power management tab unchecked , on advance tab with roaming aggresiveness / tendency to highest.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Hi,
For a while, I'm using the Z97-deluxe with
- 1x bluetooth adapter
- 2x gigabit ethernet
- 1x wifi (physical)
- 1x wifi (virtual)
As you might know, the "virtual" is the "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter". This will share the bandwith with the real (physical) wifi adapter, but is extremmly usefull to set up another network (e.g. a wireless printer, or even an ad-hoc connection).
This virtual adapter can be set up through command line with "netsh wlan hostednetwork " commands
My question is :
There still is another adapter : Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter (???)
This adapter is named "wireless"
But it clearly appears like an ethernet connection, (if we trust its icon it the network cards, plus it's written "network cable unplugged" as ethernet have, instead of "not connected" as wifi have...)
So, what is this yet-another-stranger-vitual-adapter, and most importantly, how can we use it ???
Thanks a lot !

Recently, I've been attempting to use my NetGear WG111T adapter in order to connect to my wireless network. However, the software to install, even the most recent version, is not able to complete the necessary steps to establish connectivity. The provided "Smart Wizard" will load, and then disappear a second later. I am given no access to my network whatsoever.

I'm wondering if there's any way to fix this, or if there's a different adapter I could try? I've looked at the things regarding the WG111Tvx.inf file, but I am unable to locate it, and do not appear to have this file. The closest I have is WG111Tv.inf.

If one is able to provide me with this file, it would be most appreciated; failing that, I am open to suggestions for other USB adapter solutions.

Hey,
I have two problems so i will explain the scenario then number out the issue. I had a new hard drive installed, when i booted the laptop, it worked well. The wifi in my area is very low so I was told I can use a wireless adpter to "boost" the signal strength received. I was given a Encore ENUWI-N3 Wireless Adapter to use. I installed the utility program from the official website and the computer still did not recognise the device, so I deleted the program. I then lost connection to the internet, and at the time i thought the wifi can dropped (i later realised that was not the case since my phone's wifi was still connected). I then reinstalled the software ( the executible file was saved on the harddrive), and it give me the same message that there are no drivers for the adapter.

I shifted my attention to my failed internet connection, after troubleshooting it give me a error 28 message stating that there were no drivers installed for the Broadcom wireless adapter that is internally installed. I tried a system restore to before i tried installing the Encore adapter, and still nothing, the system continued to give me the same message and it registered in the "device manager" as unknown device named "ethernet controller" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. I have been able to borrow a laptop and download the LAN adapter fron the ACER support website, and although it had no "set up.exe" file visible i was able to get... Read more

I recently had to replace my wireless adapter and received a Broadcom BCM943228HMB from my HP rep.  I am unable to find a driver for this adapter for Windows 7 64bit.  I borrowed an adapter from another 8470p and it works, so it is not the M/B.Does someone have the correct driver?

Hi, I got a new laptop today with this adapter built in. All everything is connected fine but it won't detect my network, it sees both my neighbour's networks, but not mine. £ other computers in my house can detect it, so why not the laptop? The router is a Netgear DG834G and the 3 computers connected to it are all Netgear too.
Any reason why the broadcom adapter would't see my router?
Cheers

Answer:Broadcom 802.11g wireless adapter

What model & manufacturer of laptop, and are you using WEP or WPA on the Router? The simple thing to look for is if the Wifi adapter light is lit up on the laptop. If it is a Compaq/Hp notebook, you would have a blue light that has an icon next to it that looks like a lollipop silkscreen icon. Same color for Gateway.

I would make sure that the Wifi Adapter is Enabled, or otherwise it would never work.

Hello,I have recently purchased a Lenovo u510 with i3 processor and hd4000 video card. I have installed windows 7 on it and I have issues with the wi-fi card. I have used the drivers from the Lenovo support website, and the speed barelly exceeds 3mb/s. Usually is 2,5 and much lower lower. I have a HP probook put in the same place and it has a speed 4 times bigger.I have tried also windows 8 and it has the same problems.I am very sattisfied with this laptop, but this wifi issue drives me crazy.I really need help, seems like the problem is with the wifi adapter, Broadcom. An Intel centrino one it would be better.

I have put the U510 and HP probook from work near the wireless router. The the maxspeed for lenovo was 4,5 mbps and the max speed for HP was 10 mbps(because thats the max from my provider). Why that big differece between a Broadcomm wifi adapter and a intel centrino one? Does the aluminium case have problems?

Hello, We have several WiFi access points at our institution and they are configured with the same SSID to make roaming possible. I have configured the G50-80 WiFi adapter (Broadcom 802.11n) with roaming decision = optimize bandwidth i.e. to start looking for another access point when signal strength below -60dB and with roaming tendency = High i.e. to start roam when an access point si found with a signal strength 10 dB above the current. As far as I understand this should make roaming happen but NOTHING happens at all. The G50-80 computer still is looked to the old access point altought the signal strength i -90dB from that access point and there is another closer access point with signal strength of - 40dB. Anyone that have succeeded in making the G50-80 laptop to roam between access points? Bernhard

Answer:Lenovo G50-80 Broadcom WiFI adapter and driver

Just to complement with driver information: The used Windows 10 driver has version 6.30.223.201 dated 2013-11-11 digitaly signed by Microsoft.Looking at the Lenovo download there is a newer version BCM_7.35.295.2 dated 2015-08-18. The later version is of course not digitaly signed by Microsoft so I am not sure if it will work on Windows 10. Bernhard.

Hi. I am having trouble getting my Broadcom Wireless Network Adapter to work properly. I keep getting this error

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

I have a Gateway MX6027 laptop and i went to their support site and got the drivers. I run the setup and install the drivers, but after the restart, i still get the same problem. I tried unistalling the driver and reinstalling it again but that does not seem to work.

Did this device come with a cd with it if it did then just go to control panel then to system and under the hard ware tab click device manager and the name of the device with the question mark next to it well just right click and and click update drivers then with the cd in the cd rom let the windows search for it automatically and it should fix the problem if it didnt come with a disc then go to the website and downlod the drivers if that doesnt work then its probably a bad device thats when you send it back to the manufacturer

hi,

My asus t200 transformer book has the Broadcom 802. 11abgn wireless sdio adapter.
Recently, my PC started having serious issues with connecting to public wifi.
Everytime I try, my PC says my wireless adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related issues, and the wireless function shuts down entirely.

Restarting, enabling and disabling and so forth doesn't solve the problem, only a full uninstall of the device and a clean install of most recent drivers fixes the issue, until next time I try connecting to a public wifi.

My Asus runs window 10 64bit.

Any ideas?

Answer:Broadcom 802. 11abgn wireless sdio adapter

Use a utility such as Aida64 to see exactly which model is your WiFi adapter. Then download latest driver directly from Broadcom and see if they do work. Since the problem arises only in public networks, it could also be some security restriction. I don't have a WiFi card right now, so I cannot help you with any settings. Anybody else?

Hi there - my wireless adapter seems like its dead.

My laptop isn't detecting it and I cannot connect to wireless networks. The light to indicate if the wireless is on or not, is showing orange (off) instead of blue (on), when in fact the switch is in the 'on' position.

I've tried installing the broadcom driver again, but it didn't help. I'm just about to call up HP to have it serviced, unless anyone has any suggestions?

What really gets to me, is that my laptop is just about 1 and a 1/2 years old and this is the second time this exact same problem has occurred. Last time this happened, it was almost at the end of the warranty and I was able to have it repaired under the warranty. Now, I'm guessing I'll have to pay for the repair - the warranty is finished.
This second problem has occurred during a SHORTER time span - in about 4-5 months! Last time, HP's affiliates who repaired it, said the problem was the motherboard, so the motherboard was replaced (or was it just repaired?)

So I'm out of ideas. I don't even use the wireless much. Most of the time I'm connected to the internet via ethernet. What actually causes this problem?
Does anyone know how much having this repaired or having the wireless adapter or motherboard replaced would cost?

My laptop is a Compaq V3118au in case anyone's interested lol.

Sorry for my essay

Thanks for your help

Answer:Problem with broadcom wireless network adapter

i know this problem. first, try to update your BIOS. if this will helps so, the problem disappeared.
second problem connected with southbridge chip(mini-PCI-express is bus which connected directly to southbridge)
third. i recommend to sell this laptop. this platform has VERY BAD QUALITY of motherboard and has development errors(lack of northbridge and videochip heatsink). HP tried to fix this problem with new BIOS in which they changed passive thermal cooling temperature, but this is not right way.
and fourth try to replace the Wi-Fi adapter.

I've been having issues with my wireless connection for the last few months. It will sometimes work fine for a few hours and then suddenly go to limited connectivity and I would lose all internet connection. It says it is still connected but if I was to turn the router off it doesn't notice. Also when I disconnect and try to reconnect it fails to do so. When troubleshooting the issue the laptop will try and restart the adapter which then causes the entire computer to freeze and require a restart. Upon restarting the issue is sometimes fixed and sometimes not.I have tried updating drivers and going back to old ones but this doesn't seem to make much of a difference. The network adapter I have is a Broadcom with a model number of BCM94313HMGB. When looking for drivers on the lenovo website they appear to be aimed at different manafacturers and not broadcom. I don't know if this could be an issue? I've also tried changing the rate and power management settings, neither of which help. Its getting to the stage where I can barely use the laptop and I'm considering either buying an external wifi adapter which would be awkward to use and carry around, or buying a new wireless card of another brand. Any ideas?

I expected the other drivers to be more trouble than a Broadcom driver, but it appears that Broadcom does not have any legacy driver support that I can find for this Broadcom BCM4306KFB chip in the card:83-880099-0000 E3D0WMIB-114GAlso finding references to Dell and Gateway for this network adapter yet no drivers work that I can find. This system was so full of virus's/malware when i got it. I was able to go to device manager while it was infected and write everything down before blowing the OS away to start clean. So I know that this NIC worked when it had the correct driver, but correct driver cant be found    One website based in Germany possibly with website ending in .DE had a download that I waited 90 sec to download and in the end it was an Intel driver not broadcom, and it didnt match the 5.5MB of the advertised size and was only 800k in size.OS is Windows XP Home SP3 and Laptop is a Sempron XP 2800 with 512MB RAMThanks

Answer:Broadcom BCM4306KFB Wireless G Adapter for eMachine m5405

Tried the MBoard manuf. site yet ? ?P.S. Since it's a laptop it may be included in the chipset driver package...if you have those try a re-install...

Answer:Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter lenovo g580 limit access win10

The drivers are supplied to Lenovo and others by the hardware manufacturer or vendor of the card, and they should be sending out an update soon. If not - there are other adapters listed in your Maintenance manual that are not that expensive and may provide better performance. CB

Hello all,

I've had this problem on and off for almost a year. My Acer 5750 laptop will randomly drop the connection to my router/modem.

Often I will be browsing on Firefox or another browser when suddenly the page requested will crawl along and a "page cannot be displayed" will occur. Often if I wait a few minutes, shut down the browser or laptop, reboot and it's good to go again.

The odd part is Windows will not always show a bad connection on the wireless icon on the toolbar. Sometimes there will be the yellow connection issue, but often the connection shows as working fine.

I have tried many times with a clean install of Windows Home 64bit, clean and up to date drivers from Acer. I updated the BIOS a few days ago but the problem remains.

It is not a major problem but it occurs at least a few times a day.

I also tried putting linux on the hard drive for a few days, no dropped connections but then again it was not tested very much.

The driver used is Broadcom 5.100.235.19

The actually modem/router setup seems to be fine as I never get dropped connections on my Android tablet and devices. The wife never complains of problems on her Samsung laptop which is running Windows 7 Stater, her Android tablets are good too!

I am not entirely convinced running Linux resolved the issue as I never fully tested it.

Possible network adapter dying?

Would love some suggestions, thank you.

Answer:Acer 5750 (Broadcom wireless) dropping

This type of wireless disconnect problem can be caused by a million different things but the most likely problem is the power saving feature being turned on.

You can turn this off by going into Device Manger and opening up Network Adaptors, right click the wireless adaptor you are using then click on Properties, you will have the option to turn off power saving in the power management tab.

Hello, I am having many problems with the Broadcom Wireless adapter that came with my acer. Around every hour it disconnects from my wireless router, and I know the router is working fine. I have to disable and reenable the wireless adapter in my lappy to get it to reconnect to the router, and after another hour it does it once again. Along with that, every so often, it doesnt send or recieve packets very fast, its like its working in extra-slow mode.... Ive downloaded the latest drivers for the adapter from the Acer webpage, and they dont seem to help.... Is there any fix for this problem? Another thing, is this a widespread problem with Broadcom Adapter?

Thank you,
Rekar

Takenote that you can't just replace the card with the same model number without complying with the indicated fru number. Doing so, will result to a error message at startup. This restriction is popularly called as the whitelist. An alternative to the desired wireless communication between your TV and your unit is to have ChromeCast. You might want to explore this since this is easier compared to the replacement of the wifi card.

Hi there,
Not sure if I've got the right forum so sorry if I've put it in the wrong place, but here goes:

I'm running a brand new Lenovo B570 with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and a Broadcom 802.11n wireless network adaptor.

Earlier today I was managing to connect to the internet wirelessly, though the connection kept dropping out. Then I could connect to the wireless router, but not through the internet, and now I can't connect wirelessly at all. With an ethernet cable internet access is fine, and another computer in the house connects fine to the wireless too, so it follows that the problem's with this machine.

The computer recognises that the networks are there, but it can't connect.

Any help would be appreciated, I've been at this all day.

I have a new Inspiron 9400 (Windows XP Home) with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN and am having trouble getting it to connect to my wireless network broadcast from a Netgear WGR614 wireless router. The "funny" thing is that I can get the card to connect to a much weaker Linksys network which I assume that my neighbor's wireless router is broadcasting.

The Dell card sees the Netgear network but won't connect. Network strength is good. Another laptop that I have with a Netgear 511 wireless card connects to the Netgear network with no problem. I don't have wireless security enabled, and it does not appear that my firewall is blocking the connection. I have tried to connect using both the utility that comes with the wireless care and WinXP's standard wireless network connection wizard. Neither works. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dell d-505 latitude laptop when i install wireless drivers for broadcom adapter i have to log in everytime i start computer.Davidwmessage edited by Davidw

Answer:Dell latitude d-505 when i install broadcom wireless drivers

If it was the windows login - which is how you get into "your" user account. - then presumably you know what that is?If the wifi login (to access the router) you simply enter the SSID and the access key (aka incorrect;y referred to as the password) for the router. Providing you didn't change it from the default it was delivered with, it will be on a sticker on the base of the router...Incidentally it's generally wiser to change the access key from the default/delivered one to something else; and make suitable note elsewhere what you changing it to. If it's your home/router no harm to stick a note on the base of the router; and also email it to yourself...

Hi All,

I have searched extensively for this issue but haven't found any workable solutions so I'm posting.

Recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y580 and performed a fresh install of Win 7 Premium 64-bit on a new SSD. Installed latest drivers for all hardware but discovered after the install that my wireless adapter wasn't able to find any wireless networks (it worked find under Windows 8 when laptop was first unboxed). My wired connection works fine though, I am able to connect up to my network without issue using a network cable. Also, I am able to connect to my home wireless network without issue using another laptop.

In addition, the adapter icon in my tray shows a red-X on it. I've found many issues through web searches that suggest driver updates or hardware disable/enable steps but neither of these approaches have worked for me. I am holding off re-installing my OS until I've tried some more simpler and less time consuming options.

Hi,
I have an M4700 running Windows 10 x64 migrated from the OEM factory install of Windows 7 Pro x64, and after checking the drivers installed, the most recent one for the Dell Wireless 1504 is still version 5.100.82.112 WHQL, released 26/10/11.
In other words, the WLAN driver for this model has not been updated once.
To be fair, there's probably been no incentive by Dell to update it as the OOTB driver seems to work OK, but I have noticed all sorts of system issues on the M4700 over the last 12 months and Intel have already posted a newer Prosetx64 version to fix Anniversary Edition related bugs on the wired LAN adapter. So it'd make sense to check to see if there are any newer versions of the WLAN driver.
The M6700 is running a more recent version of the Broadcom wireless chipset (1530) and rather than relying on an ancient HWQL driver, Dell has made available a Win10 compliant driver based on the Broadcom 7.35.340.0 driver pack.
The Broadcom 7.35.317.3 driver - only a few patches behind the M6700 official driver - is compatible with the Dell Wireless 1504 card however the only source I can find for that driver is a driver pack which has been modded, and some of the content of that driver pack is sufficiently questionable to not risk installing it.
General question to any driver tweakers (or to Dell Support if they're reading this) - If BCM 7.35.340.0 is backwards compatible with the Dell Wireless 1504 card, can the M6700 driver update be modified and released ... Read more

Why do I have to keep resetting my wireless adaptor on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series that is only 2 months old. My network says I'm connected but Explorer says I'm not connected. Doesn't make sense. HELP!!!

Answer:Resetting wireless adapter on Windows 8 Dell laptop

If you Uninstall by right clicking your Wireless Adapter in "Device Manager" it should find it again on restart. This is not like a normal uninstall (provided you say NO to any request to remove the software). It leaves the drivers in place then re-creates the link to them as if you had just installed new hardware. At odd times it has helped with issues.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Dell Support,
I owned Dell XPS 13 and everything was working fine since yesterday but WiFi stopped working all of sudden since yesterday. I haven't made any changes to the laptop not even windows update. I updated the wireless drivers, disabled ,re-enabled the network adapter from network adapter settings but no luck. I even uninstalled the existing intel broad com wireless drivers and installed back  no luck. I installed Dell Dell wireless 1560 802.11ac driver but the issue still persists. I even reset my router to make sure that it's throwing the wifi, all other devices like desktop, mobile, tablet works fine with home wifi but not just this Dell XPS device. All I can see in the status tray is the square box with red sign.
Can anybody suggests the fix for this?

Guys,

I upgraded my windows 7 beta last night to the RC1 release. The only issue i am having is that now my wireless driver is not working correctly.

under the device manager the error is "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)"

I am using a macbook pro with bootcamp on it, the initial beta public release of Windows 7 picked up the drivers fine. For some reason after upgrading i can get no wireless though. I have tried downloading vista drivers, and just about everything i can think of. I also downloaded the Bootcamp Vista 32 Update from mac, but it did not resolve the problem either.

any help would be much appreciated, Thanks

Hi I have just bought the above All-in-one desktop. I have had it since Tuesday but it has taken me the last 3 days to update to windows 10, install all my software and getting everything set up how I want it. Since yesterday evening, the network adapter keeps shutting down intermittently. Once it has shut down it is impossible to find and enable. I have to completely re-start the computer to get it working again. When it shuts down I have tried everything I can think of. In the device manager, the adapter is initially visible but with the yellow triangle alert. When inspecting the properties, it says: This device cannot start. (Code 10) This device does not exist. and if I scan for hardware changes, it dissappears and cannot then be found. This suggests the adapter has completely shut down and cannot even be detected. I can't tell if this is a hardware error, a driver error/conflict or a problem with Windows 10 and settings. Unfortunately, there are no events logged for me to explore what causes the shut down. I have tried exploring the Lenovo knowledge base and support site but have found nothing useful. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a fix? Cheers Terry

I just thought I would share what has been the solution to the problem I've been having since downloading Windows 10.
I have an XPS 8700 with a Dell 1704 wireless adapter and ever since upgrading to Win 10 it has a very spotty connection.  So spotty that I couldn't use the internet wirelessly at all.  I tried all kinds of things (countless drivers, command prompt stuff, etc).
The other devices that I use work fine, it's just the Dell desktop that had an issue.  Well, apparently the 1704 adapter only operates on the 2.4GHz band, and our modem/router puts out both the 2.4 and the 5GHz bands.  So I went in to the router's settings and unchecked the box that allows the 5GHz aspect to broadcast SSID.  Voila the wifi on this computer works.  I think the adapter was getting mixed signals and didn't know how to handle it.  I have no idea why the wireless worked on this computer when I had Windows 8.1.
I've never spent so much time on a problem to have the solution be unchecking a box, but whatever, I'm so happy to have the computer back.  And happy to be able to stick with Windows 10, I really like it otherwise.

Welcome to Seven Forums,

You may try to disable the Power Management mode of your Wi-Fi adapter from Device Manager, see attached image.
If that didn't help, I'd download your Wi-Fi's latest driver from the Manufacturer's site.

I was presented with an issue late last week, which had to do with wireless connectivity on an Acer Extensa 5220 Laptop running Windows XP Professional.

While ethernet connections work perfectly, whenever I attempt to connect to the wireless network my client has in his house, it stalls at "Acquiring Network Address".

I've logged into the router from another machine in the house, and I can see that the router is configured to run DHCP, and DHCP is indeed working. (It lists the Acer laptop, and specifies the IP leased to the Acer laptop.)

A little bit of history: This machine was recently updated to Service Pack 3. I was able to log onto the wireless network AFTER updating it to Service Pack 3, and copied files across the wireless network too. (possibly before rebooting though, can't recall)

I've rebooted the router, and it made no difference. This router has allowed for a PPPoE connection to be established over wireless by the machine in question in the past.

I've since tried the following suggestions made by JohnWill in another post:

My wireless stopped working. I had problems in the past, not sure how I got to work then. But the other day after handling the modem/router-combo, I guess it became unplugged. I plugged it back in and have not had wireless since. I turned off computer, restarted. My wireless network is not even listed. I can connect vie ethernet. No adapter is listed under Broadcom Wireless.

Any ideas?

Hi, I've tried upgrading to Windows 10 Home from Windows 7 Home but once Win10 is running I have no possibility to access the internet. Both LAN and wi-fi are Broadcom on my laptop and there is no Broadcom driver available for Windows 10. I had to go back to Win7. I checked the Acer website but Broadcom drivers for 5750G for Windows 10 are not availablke (i.e. not in the list of downloadable drivers). What can I do? Will these drivers be available soon? Please let me know what to do.Thanks in advance.

Answer:acer 5750g broadcom wifi-lan driver for windows 10

Have a simular problem with TM 5730 and 7730. Broadcon Netxtreme network connection, Intel 5100 Wifi and Jmicron memorycard fail, all connected to the PCI bus. Looks like an old problem with the intel chipset driver reappearing. (In windows 7 this updated driver had to be installed to connect the memorycard reader to the system). Tried the windows 7 driver, but it refuses to install. In my opinion, it is Acers obligation to its customers to have intel provide an updated driver which solves the problem with the intel 4 series express chipset, which is installed in many Travelmate, Aspire and Extensa machines. Please note that broadcom has an updated driver for the Netxtreme connection, but due to the intel flaw with the intel 4 series express chipset, the driver does not work.Acers position "Intel does not support this driver anymore and we will not come with a solution" is in myn opinion unacceptable. In practice it comes to this: You payed your mony, now you have a problem, you are on your own.I am also looking at drivers published by other manufacturers to see if they have a fix for this problem. They might have a usergroups with more leverage. Will keep you guys informed.

Hi
I have a pc which is a DELL Dimension 5150 and since I have re-located the pc the router no longer reaches to plug in. I do however have a wireless router and wondered how I will be able to know if:-
a. my pc will connect to the wireless router, wireless
b. If it is compatible, how do I set it up.
c. If it's not compatible, do I have to get a card to put in the pc. (I can open the case and 'plug and play'.

I hope someone can help me. I'm not sure if a dongle thing is the way to go or a card if that's what it needs. The pc is not that old, but I do appreciate that things change in the computer technology and so it may not have been wireless enabled when I got it.

Also the pc is quite slow, I wondered if this is something easy to sort. Maybe clogged up with stuff!

Thanks

Answer:Dell - how do i know if it is wireless compatible

Hi

Likelyhood is that the dekstop wont have a WiFi connection but there are many add-on PCI cards you can get and I would advise a PCI card over the USB dongles as they just dont cut it for me. To find out if you have one installed open up Device Manager and look in the network list for Wireless device, but knowing that you would have had to specify a wireless card for many desktops from Dell, as I mention likey their is not one installed.

Sample PCI Wifi card Here others may have some good suggestions on this and PCWorld would be a place to get one from, or from one of the UK online PC stores like Dabs, Scan, OverclockersUK (mention these as I have used them for years so know they are safe online stores)

You could get a longer Cat5e cable to run from router to PC? this depends on where the router is and the PC is now located as the logistics of feeding a cable around a house is not always easy.

Is your router a wireless capable one?

Hi and thanks for any advice you can give, it's really appreciated.

I have an HP Compaq 6715s laptop with Windows 7. I have had a problem for sometime where the modem (the aforementioned Broadcom 590x 10/100 Ethernet) will not work wirelessly any more. I just get an icon in the bottom corner with a red x over a monitor and it doesn't seem to be able to detect any wireless networks. This has happened quite suddenly and I've not changed anything on the cpu that I'm aware of. The modem does still work if I physically plug it into the router.

Windows insists that I have the latest drivers and not being hugely technical, am at a bit of a loss to know what to do.
Thanks in advance

Hi,As the title suggests, I have Tiscali Broadband on my home PC and am interested in possibly getting a DELL laptop. I am thinking of going "wireless" in the near future so that both the home computer AND laptop can be connected to the internet at the same time, but am wondering whether there are any wireless routers out there that would NOT be compatible with either Tiscali Broadband or a DELL laptop. (Hope that makes sense?).

Answer:WIRELESS ROUTER - Tiscali & Dell Compatible

Any recent ADSL router should work, some models/makes cope with a weak ADSL signal better than others, worth bearing in mind if you live a long way from the exchange and your signal is weaker as a result. You should have no problem if your current modem works without issues.

Hello!

I'm on Toshiba Sattelite l515-S4925 laptop using Windows 7 RTM Ultimate.
I'm having an issue with wireless connection. The problem is that Win7 seems to not recognize my wireless adapter. Under Device Manager -> Network Adapters there is just Realtek RTL8102E/RTL8103E Family PCi-E Fast Ethernet NIC.
Previously I was running Vista and the wireless worked fine.
I tried to download the wireless driver for Vista from Realtek Website, the setup runs ok but then nothing happens

Also, maybe a related issue, under "Other devices" there is a yellow triangle with a question mark under Network Controller. Windows cannot find any drivers for it...

any suggestions?
Thanks!

I have a Server2003 machine setup with many images for our Enterprise's different types of computers and it works great. However, recent machine purchases have included NIC chips from Broadcom and it looks like Server2003 does not support RIS with these chips although they are listed as supported. It seems to be a bug that Microsoft hasn't fixed. Has anyone been able to find a work around for this? I know for a fact that this is possible.
PS. Server2000 works fine with the Broadcom equiped computers.

Answer:RIS on Server2K3 not compatible with Broadcom?

Check the computer manufacturer's website, along with Broadcom's website. I've seen some NIC drivers include a directory of drivers specifically for RIS.

Hi all,My wife has just bought a Lenovo Essential G575 last month . We have just had a new Virgin router which is Wireless N compatible at 5Ghz. Benefits of wireless ?N? include:Better coverage ? your wireless signal is likely to be stronger around the house, compared to wireless 'G'.Better range ? the signal will travel further than a wireless 'G' signal, so your computers and devices won?t need to be as close to the router as before.Better speeds ? wireless 'N' gives you the fastest possible wireless broadband experience, so it?s the ideal partner for Virgin Media's superfast broadband.   I connected my Dell Studio notebook OK & my daughters 5 year old Dell. Both worked with 5Ghz frequency. However the NEW Lenovo didn't see the 5Ghz band. Does the wireless card not support the 5Ghz frequency though a 5 year old Dell does. Any suggestions. Cheers....Brim

About 2 years ago, my friend gave me his old laptop. It's a Compaq Presario v6000, with Windows Xp 2002 Media Center installed.

Frankly, I never really decided to touch it until now. So I turned the senior on and logged on the what used to be my friend's administrator account. Then, I made one of my own and deleting that account, to clear up some space for what I whatever I was going to put of my own.

Then, when I decided to jump on the internet, I encountered a problem; the wireless network wasn't turning on. I looked on the front and I found a slide switch with a radio tower and an orange light next to it on the front left of the laptop. Assuming that's the switch, i flipped it one way. Nothing happened, no icons appeared in the notification area and the orange light didn't change at all.

So, I went into control panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections. Only the local area connection was there. There was nothing else. So, i grabbed the ethernet cable and connected it the laptop with my router and went off googling.

Turns out the microsoft support page addresses this issue
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870702
I followed the command prompt instructions and I got exactly what it says, so i moved on to Basic Troubleshooting.
In step 1, it asks to check for the latest drivers. This is really confusing, because the link it gives just takes me to the front store page. I decided to skip it and move on. Any clarifying help... Read more

I realize it's been quite a while, so I should probably start off by mentioning that I did manage to get my internet to work using a wired connection. As much as I would love to continue using it, that may become an issue in the coming days.

Continuing where I left off, I did try the method mentioned in post 11, but still to no avail. I don't remember ever having any other anti-virus software on my computer, and there don't seem to be any listed in my installed programs.

Hey, I am a long time reader, first time poster - but, I found some drivers that will allow AMD 64 equipped laptops with the Broadcom 54g chipset (ie HP/Compaq/Emachines) to access the internet and network wirelessly in Winddows XP 64 bit edition!!!

Note: these are for 64 bit systems running WindowsServer or XP 64 bit Editions only.

The site is:
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/drivers.php

It is the very first link that says generic drivers from Company "all". These are not official drivers, but they work!

Hello,I have an Aspire E1-571G with Windows 8.1x64 (clean install, no upgrade and so on) and I've been having issues with my broadcom wireless drivers ever since I installed it. The troubleshooter showed up that there is a problem with the default gateway but here's what really happens: I can stay connected to a wireless network but after random periods of time I just lose internet access (note that it doesn't show up in the connections page, everything looks perfectly fine there) and I have to reconnect to the wifi to regain it. I have tried on multiple wifi network and it does the same thing. It works fine if I use an ethernet cable but that just makes it more frustrating.I have tried all the possible solutions I could find online like checking the power management settings, reinstalling the wifi card in safe mode, checking the priority of the wirelss connection, virtually anything. There is no hardware issue with it, it worked perfectly fine on Windows 7. I haven't been able to find wireless drivers for 8.1 and even though I have the latest drivers, it still doesn't work right. There are moments when I can keep my connection for more than 2-3 hours but there are times when it crashes every 5 minutes or so.Does anybody have any idea how to fix this instead of waiting for the drivers to be updated ? I've seen that I'm not the only one with this issue and it's a bit common for e1-571g users. For example lenovo users had the same problem and the only fix was to install the def... Read more

Answer:Windows 8.1 broadcom wireless drivers

boboudrescu  Hello to you!  I just wanted to tell you that your symptoms and troubles are exactly the same as mine.  While I have found some extended ethernet connection by using FIXED DNS Server Addresses (Google Public Adresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), I still have the disconnection/dropped signal at least 6 to 8 times in the day.  So I know it's not a complete remedy by you may want to give that a try and see if it maintains a connection for a bit longer. I have posted information about Broadcom's announcement to get a new driver released and can only hope that it means a complete remedy to the problem with 8.1 drivers.  SOON!! So we shall see!

I have just upgraded to AOL Gold and set up the free Speedtouch router to work with a new Acer Laptop. It works fine with wires attached but I cannot get it to work wirelessly. I keep getting the message that no networks are available. Message on the desktop says Wireless Connection not available. I have just spent over an hour with AOL who have concluded that the wireless adapter is faulty and I need to go back to Acer. Are they likely to be correct or am I doing something silly? Not very familiar with computers. Waited for 20 minutes in a queue at Acer then got cut off. Any advice would be appreciated.

So both your desktop & laptop say no networks and AOL say the wireless adaptor is faulty.I'd say that the router is faulty. Can you find a friend with a wireless router that you can try connecting to?

I am planning to purchase a new Lenovo G50-80 Laptop #80E501JFUS. This machine comes with a "Lenovo AC Wireless" Network Card. I presume that means that this machine talks state-of-the-art 11ac Wi-Fi network protocols. My question is, will 80E501JFUS work properly on an older Wi-Fi network that is based on the older 11b/g/n Wi-Fi network protocols such as one might find in a public library, ie, is the 80E501JFUS with its state-of-the-art 11ac Wi-Fi networking capability automatically & transparently backwards compatible with older 11b/g/n-based Wi-Fi networks?

Answer:Is Lenovo AC Wireless Network Card backwards compatible?

hi chas_alpha

Welcome to the Forums.

Looking at the G50-80 (80E501JFUS) spare parts, this system uses a Broadcom 43162 Wireless Card.
  - Link to picture

This type of card is indeed backwards compatible with 802.11/b/g/n wireless networking specifications (such as the WI-Fi access points in public library).

As for making it to work on  802.11/b/g/n, you may need to look under the Device Manager > Wrieless card properties > Advanced Tab and toggle the band preference and the wireless mode.

Article:
Advanced Wireless Adapter Driver Settings

More info on the card below:

Hello,

I just moved into a new place and I've been having a lot of trouble with the wireless connection. There are 4 other people sharing the wireless and none of them seem to have problems, and my phone connects fine, but my laptop will randomly lose internet access while still detecting the network. When I run the troubleshooter it says it has reset the wireless adapter, and the connection will work again, but sometimes only for a few minutes before it craps out. I don't have access to the wireless router itself, so doing anything with that will require asking the landlady (who doesn't speak English well). I had access fine for the first two days after I moved in. I did install a couple of programs after that: 7-Zip and Flash Player 11.2 (since the newest Flash version crashes my Firefox). I don't know if that could have anything to do with it.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on an Asus laptop. After searching around the forum a bit, I followed the instructions in this post and will paste the results here. I don't know if the ping address starting with 206 might be invalid since the post is from several years ago.

Thanks so much for any help!

I am a computer technician for a small consulting firm in Boston Mass called Tech Networks of Boston (TNB). I am having an issue with my 3000 N100 0768-E7U running the Pre-loaded Windows Vista Business edition. Original description: T7200(2GHz), 2GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, 128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, touch pad, Camera, Fingerprint reader, IEEE 1394, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Business Since I purchased my laptop from TNB back in March of 07, i have had issue with playing audio while using the wireless. Sound get clearly degraded when wireless activity occurs. I though it would have something to do with drivers so i updated the wireless and sound drivers to the latest ones offered by the manufacturer (which are more recent then the ones provided by Lenovo). no luck. I later decided to wipe and install Windows XP Pro on my laptop. Surprise, sound and wireless work great. Now i have reloaded the newest version of Vista Business with SP1. still having the same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or fixes???

Answer:Broadcom Wireless and Sound under Windows Vista

Fausto,

I believe we need to look into your audio drivers ... Realtek.  What version number driver are you running under Vista?

Also, what mode are you running the network card in?   Are you running in 'G' mode?

Can you explain a bit more about the degraded sound?  Is it stuttering / skipping, or...?

Thanks.

Hi,  I've got an Acer Aspire S3-391 running Windows 7 64 bit, and I recently updated my wireless network adapter (Atheros AR5BMD222) to the latest version 10.0.0.274 as recommended by Acer's website.  After updating the driver, I can no longer connect to my home wifi.  When I try to connect, I get the message that no wireless connections are available (even though all my other devices can see the wifi network) and when I diagnose the problem, it says that there might be a problem with the wireless network adapter and that windows couldn't automatically bind the ip stack protocol.  I've tried uninstalling the new driver and reinstalling the old one and running a system restore to before installing the new driver, both with no luck.  When I try to manually configure a wireless connection, I get "an unexpected error ocurred" message.  I have automatic DNS and IP address set, and when I look at my ipconfig IP, DNS, DHCP, etc all have addresses.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
