I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:Logitech Touch Mouse 400 for a Laptop with no touch screen

Sorry I can't answer your question, but this post piqued my interest. I use the Logitech 620 touch mouse on a Windows 7 box at work. I find a little touchy and has to tweaked. But I haven't tried the 620 on Windows 8. Because I'm always looking for the perfect mouse, I think I might just pick up the 400 tonight and let you know.

Hello everybody.

I got an ASUS N50Vn aka X5AVseries..

On the top of the keyboard I got a "touch panel" where I can control the volume, change the computers performance and so on.

But after installing Windows 7 it doesn't work.

Anybody knows what to do? Maybe a speciel driver I need?

Thanks, Peter.

Answer:ASUS - Touch Panel doesn't work?

You have to install all the acpi/she drivers from asus's website. You can use the vista or xp drivers.

(had to do this on an 1000he from asus, but I got almost all hardware keys working)

I have ThinkPad X230 Tablet. It used to have non-functioning touch screen. I did something, and now the screen responds to pen input, but it doesn't work properly for finger touch. When I touch with finger, only thing it does is minimize or maximize window. When I change position of taskbar (with start menu and icons), it doesn't maximize/minimize.  I think this means that when I touch with finger, cursor clicks at bottom right corner of display, where there is button for maximize/minimize window

Hello!

I have a fairly serious issue on my hands.

2 days ago, my computer decided to stop taking input from anything (mouse, keyboard, and touch). I am unable to do anything past the Windows splash screen. Going into the BIOS shows that the computer is working normally, and my mouse, keyboard and touch screen work there without issues. I really hope I can get this thing working again, as I haven't backed up files to a cloud. Please help ASAP as I need my PC running!

I have a T43, one day  i cleaned the fan but then found its left button of touch pad and touch point doesn't work  anymore, i tried switching the left and right button funtion on the OS and then the left still doesn't work. Firstly, i think it may because wrong connection, so i detach the cover and reconnect all connectors...but soon find the Wireless Adapter which is fitted under the touch pad doesn't work well...Once i installed the driver for WLAN,  the OS is frozen and even i disabled the WLAN from OS, the OS is still forzen frequently.  Now i have to install a new OS and don't install drivers for WLAN, in addition, The LAN adapter works well.  During the reconnection, i cleaned the gold finger of WLAN using IPA...is it the root cause? wish sb can help me.

Answer:touch pad and touch point left button doesn't work,T43

Cleaning the WLAN shouldn't have caused the problem.  Recently someone posted on this site or thinkpads.com with a similar problem.  Do a search on both sites.

I've had my Lenovo B50-30T for less than a year and for the most part, it hasn't given me a hard time. Occasionally though, the mouse seems to "attach" itself onto an object and then after it detaches, left click stops working. I know it's hard to explain, so I'm going to give an example: While reading articles online, the cursor stuck to the scroll bar at the side of the browser. No matter where I moved the mouse, it remained attached to the scroll bar; moving it up and down. Then when it finally moved away, I wasn't able to left click. (Right click worked just fine) After a while, it goes back to normal, but that "while"can last anywhere from 2 minutes to half an hour. I tried plugging in a USB mouse the last time it happened, and that worked just fine. When I unplugged it, the problem remained. I also re-installed the drivers from the Lenovo website, but the problem returned. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi
My MS Arc Touch Mouse stopped working. A friend of mine who has the same mouse had lost his mouse's nanoreceiver and he had given his (almost new) mouse to me couple of years back (kept without batteries).
Now I'm left with one Arc Touch Mouse and one nanoreceiver v1.0. Is there any way I can pair the two? I tried to install Intellipoint and do something with it, but without luck. I'm using a Windows 10 laptop.
Thanks

Touch mat wont let me use the touch only the mouse and the light stays on even when not in sprout workspace

Answer:touch mat not woring with touch only can use mouse

Hi @frostygirl13, and thank you for your post.Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. My understanding of your post is that you are dealing with two issues, one, the projector lamp is on, when you expect it to be off, and two, the touch mat is not working for you. I am happy to give you a hand with this. For the first issue with the projector, I found the following post, with suggestions from forum experts @DavidPK and @WyreNut:  Sprout Projector.  This may be difficult to do based on your second issue. For the second issue with the touch mat, I would first make sure that you have all of your drivers up to date, and make sure you have the latest update for Sprout Workspace installed. You can use the HP Support Assistant, to check for updates. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Machine 3460-AQG; Win8 64bit 8 GB; Intel Centrino WiFi. ok, only two USB, one of which is usually occupied by the USB Dock.  So, I buy two Lenovo ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser mice to work without occupying a USB port for a mouse receiver. One for my X1; one for a Dell Inspiron XPS14, Win8- 64bit  btw., came in with same shipment.  Lenovo X1:  Original Thinkpad Bluetooth Laser Mouse randomly switches off and looses connection every 15 seconds or so. Workaround:  Disable the "switch off for  batterypower saving" in the Bluetooth device in Win8 device properties.  Subsequently, Bluetooth wears on battery runtime. After 30 minutes of searching, finally mouse works. Dell Inspiron:  ThinkPad mouse works like a charm, no tweak required, Dell saves energy for battery runtime.  Dell XPS14 machine cost a bit more than third (!!) of my Lenovo machine. Gerd

Answer:X1 Carbon Touch does not work with Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth Laser mouse

Hi, Gerd

Have you ensured that all your drivers are up to date, as well as your BIOS?  All updates for your system can be found here, if you would like to check. And for clarification, what do you exactly mean by "after 30 minutes of searching, finally mouse works?" Do you mean that the computer has to spend 30 minutes to find the mouse before it will connect?

Best,
Adam

Hello All - I just noticed that my multi-touch (not enhanced multi-touch) screen no longer responds to finger touch; just pen. It used to respond to both before i upgraded to Windows 7.I tried the Lenovo diagnostic check for the touch screen, and during the test, it only responded to the pen. What should I do? Is there a certain driver i'm missing or need to uninstall and then re-install?Thanks in advance.

Answer:Post Windows 7 Upgrade - Touch Panel Not Responding to Finger Touch (x200t)

Ok...I think i really screwed something up. As per a Lenovo support tech's advice, i installed the Windows 7 "Enhanced" Multi-touch Driver, even though i do not have the enhanced multi-touch screen, and this is what it says on Lenovo's site about this new driver: "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the Multitouch are NOT supported." "*1: ThinkPad X200 Tablet models with the ENHANCED Multitouch ARE supported." So, i go ahead and install it. I notice that finger touch now works, but the pen setting are now all screwed up! The eraser no longer responds when i turn the pen around to erase. It actually INKS with the eraser as well! OneNote no longer automatically starts inking (or erasing) when i bring the pen (or eraser) into range. I have to manually click on the pen icon (or the eraser icon) on the tool bar to use these functionalities! *groan* In the Tablet PC Input Panel: no eraser functionality (it inks instead!!) and even the button on the pen (which previously had the right-click ability) only inks when pressed down! I think i made my situation worse...Please Help! Adam

I just bought a new ASUS Windows 8 touch laptop. But I am finding it very slow to start. The programs take time to open. Even the right menu takes time to open. Truly frustrated want feel like throwing it away. My old desktop was better and faster.
I see a lot of programs like:
ASUS VivoBook
ASUS Instant Connect
ASUS InstantOn
ASUS LifeFrame3
ASUS Live Update
ASUS Power4Gear
ASUS S200 Product DEmo
ASUS Smart Gesture
ASUS Splendid Video
ASUS Tutor
ASUS Charger Plus
ASUS Wenstorage Sync
Atheros Communications
ATK Package
MyBitCast
WinFlash
and so on.
Do I need all this $-hit! Or can I uninstall any of them?

Answer:New ASUS Windows 8 touch laptop very slow

Those programs only matter if they are starting with Windows. If they are just sitting on your hard drive and you (or your notebook) don't need them, they are simply wasting disk space, but not affecting performance.

My old desktop was better and faster.

That really does not mean anything to us because we don't know the hardware specs of your old PC, or your new notebook.
I recommend you search each of those items and see if you need them. If not, you [hopefully] can remove them through the "Programs and Features" Control Panel applet. For example, ASUS Charger Plus.

How to turn on Touch Screen?

Answer:Does Asus Laptop windows 8.1 have touch screen?

Without a better description / type number it is impossible to check the specifications to see if this Asus has a touch panel.
So check the box or see if there is something on the Asus which indicates it had a touch screen.

Hi everyone,
I have a 1.5 year old Dell Latitude 3540 laptop, which I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (from 8.1 Pro). It has a non-touch screen.
For some reason, Windows 10 sometimes thinks it has a touch screen. It then shows the icon for the touch keyboard at the bottom right corner, and when going to Settings->System->About, under "Pen and Touch" it says "Touch support with 2 touch points".
This doesn't really bother me, as it doesn't seem to actually influence anything important. But still, seems pretty strange.
Did anyone else here experience something similar?
Thanks!

I recently updated/upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. The default mouse settings is to scroll using two fingers. I want to go back to using one finger to scroll on the right side of my mouse pad on my laptop. I have tried the settings for the mouse including the advanced settings. I clicked on device settings and then settings underneath that, which led me to a different window. When I clicked on the scrolling portion, it gave me pinch zoom and rotating.
All other forums have told me there should be a one finger scroll and two finger scroll tab under scrolling. I don't know if this is an option for 8.1, or if I am just not finding where I should be looking, but this is an issue for me.
Thank you!

Answer:How do I change my mouse settings from two touch scrolling to one touch scrolling?

Check your laptop manufacturers website for trackpad/touchpad drivers for Windows 10.
My Thinkpad in the Mouse Settings (advanced) has a section for the trackpad and I can set this so perhaps your drivers are not up to date for your device. I know a friend had to manually download those for his Dell to make that work like he wanted.

I know the Touch mouse came out in 2011, and there are probably better mice out there now. But I don't want to spend too much money for a mouse on my Surface Pro 2. I found the Touch mouse very cheap on Amazon, and I want to get it. But I'm curious, how does it work with Windows 8? I know it was made for 7, but is it updated to work better with 8? And does anyone have one that can tell me if it is good? I want to use it for things that the touchscreen and tiny trackpad can't do, like play casual games (minecraft online). Thanks.

When I upgraded to Windows 10 my touch screen and wireless mouse became erratic, especially when the laptop was turning on from 'sleep mode'. I installed the latest touch drivers from Lenovo and Logiteck (the wireless mouse) but that did not resolve the issue. I rolled back to Windows 8.1 and once again both touch and the mouse work perfectly. Lenovo insists that the problem is with Windows 10, and Microsoft insists that the problem is with Lenovo. Lenovo suggested that I wait until Microsoft releases the first service patch before I switch to Windows 10. I am not that patient so I am looking for a solution that might solve this frustrating situation.

So I bought an ASUS VT207 touch screen monitor yesterday. Set it up and it worked fine for a couple hours but then it started right clicking with every other click. I've been trying to debug the issue and reading on a lot of other peoples problems and I think I've found the root cause.

The touch screen isn't right clicking, but actually holding down the left click every time I tap on the screen. When you press-and-hold on a touch screen it will open the right click menu. Only way for me to actually left click something is to tap the screen multiple times very quickly. I've tested this on some text and the touch screen will attempt to high light text on simple taps. When on youtube and I click on a video it will make the thumbnail high light like the mouse is hovering over it but it wont actually click on it.

I've been messing with the Tablet PC Settings but not even shutting off all the Pen and Touch settings (Double-tap and Press-and-hold) fixes the issue. Does anyone else have any ideas. Disabling and re-enabling the driver in device manager doesn't fix it. Only solution I've found is restarting my computer every 15-60 minutes.

Hey, guys!

I didn't want to bother you with this - but it's starting to make me nuts.  I've looked all over the intertron for answers, and have seen quite a few problems like mine, but the circumstances don't quite fit my situation - or at least I haven't found it yet.  Most of these complaints are the result of upgrades or not updating drivers and whatnot.

I JUST BOUGHT a new laptop.  I'm talkin' nine days ago.  My first foray into Windows 8.1.  So far everything is fine except for the touch pad.  Every now and again the left mouse button refuses to do what left mouse buttons do and I must touch the screen to click on a tab, a spot on a page, etc. It starts working again shortly, but still, what the hell?

Also, occasionally, when I put the mouse pointer on the scroll bar to move through a page, then move the pointer off the scroll bar and onto a link or a spot in the page I need to type or whatnot, it's as if the pointer never left the scroll bar and the page keeps moving up and down when I try to get to a particular place on a page.

I've got an Acer laptop running Windows 8.1 with a Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad, driver version 17.0.6.13 - did a check for updates and was advised the best version was currently installed.

I shall await your sage counsel.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort!

Answer:touch screen on windows 10 wont work

I request you to boot the PC to BIOS and test the touchscreen in BIOS. To boot the PC to BIOS, first turn off the PC completely. Keep tapping ESC on startup. You would get a startup menuPress F10 to get into BIOS. do not keep the PC in mute. Touch the screen in BIOS, the PC should beep.  If the PC beeps in BIOS (system utility), the touch screen is fine and you are facing a driver or a software issue. If the PC does not beep in BIOS, when you touch the screen, there is a issue with the display/touchscreen. Considered as a hardware issue (service or display replacment might be required). Please share the product number of your PC. This will help get the specification of your PC and I can give further suggestions.  ****Click the White thumb to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem****

Hi, Please help! I updated to window 10 this evening and things seemed fine. I dowloaded a few apps and restarted the system. Whe the system came back - the cursor wouldn't leave the top of the screen - just flickering aroung the top edge. The keypad works, as do the left and right clicks and the pointing device, but I fing he pointing device imposible to use and as soon as either the touchpad is toched, or the pointing device is touched at the same time as the left and right clicks - the cursor goes straight back to the top of the screen (where the close button is) As I am sure you can understand - this is all but unworkable. I have looked to se if the driver needs updating - it doesn't. Can you help? Richard

I previously had Win 8.1 installed on my Yoga 3 1470 and everything worked fine.  I then upgraded to Windows 10. After the Windows 10 upgrade, I installed the latest Windows Updates and installed the latest driver updates from the Lenovo web site. Now, the computer works ok, except for the touch screen--which doesn't work at all. If I go to Device Manager, under Human Interface Devices, touch screen isn't listed at all. If I go to Settings, About, under "Pen and Touch", it says "no pen or touch input is available for this display". What else should I check to get my touch screen back and working?

Answer:Yoga 3 1470 Touch does not work at all after Windows 10 Upgrade

[Edit]  This seems to have fixed the problem: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-3-14-inch-Touch-Screen-Issues/m-p/216...   Original post: Same laptop and same problem (I realize my signature indicates a ThinkPad W520 but I also have the Yoga 3).  The touchscreen worked fine after upgrading to Windows 10 then stopped working a few days ago.  I believe this is the same problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/touch-screen-not-working-on-win... On that page scroll down to see people with a Yoga 3 describing the same problem, here's the relavent message: Also have a Yoga 13 and am having the exact same problem, my System Info also shows the same message, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".  The touch screen worked fine after the initial Windows 10 upgrade then after an update about a week ago it stopped working.  I uninstalled some recent Windows updates through the control panel but that did not help.  There is one update (KB3081452) that I can't uninstall (the uninstall button disappears when I select that update), based on the date of the installation for that update it's around the time the touchscreen stopped working but I can't uninstall it to test if that's the problem. In Device Manager (you have to View-->Show hidden devices) under Human Interface Devices, most of the entries ("HID-compliant device", "HID-compl... Have you downloaded and installed all the Gateway Windows 8 drivers from their website? The ZX6971 drivers page is here: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/pr...Where it says "Operating System", select Windows 8 Professional 32-bit, or Windows 8 Professional 64-bit as appropriate. The drivers may not work if you don't have Windows 8 Professional Edition, so you'll just have to try them & see what happens.

Windows 10 touch feature is not optimized for smartboard and touch input does not work properly. Tapping on icons or on GUI does not work but moving works. Tapping, pinch zoom and scroll works perfectly on Google Chrome. When i pick up a pen, it uses classic touch input (that you can only single click and it still exists since Windows XP) and it works anywhere. I can double click on icon and click something in GUI. When i put the pen back, it uses modern touch input and the problem comes back again.

I have been facing this issue from the day one since I installed Windows 10 on my laptop (Dell XPS L502x).

Native Windows Applications like all browsers, office products etc. anything that is not from the Store, works fine. I can use Touch Pad scrolling with no trouble. e.g. on Internet Explorer, Chrome, MS Word, etc.

But the apps that come out of store or the apps like those which come pre-built with Windows 10 such as new Settings UI, Microsoft Edge. Touch Pad scrolling just don't work with these apps. When I perform scrolling the scroll-icon appears but doesn't scroll the content.

This issue is only with Touch Pad. External Mouse works great with scrolling on any kind of app.

Hope to find a solution here.
Thanks

PS: drivers are all good on the machine and up to date with no warning or error.

I just encountered this problem, it seems like an issue with the touch screen driver. When a monitor is connected via VGA and that monitor is made the primary display, whenever I touch the laptop screen, the click indication appears on the wrong monitor. Is there a driver update that fixes this? Who should be notified? What company made/supports the touch screen?

Answer:W510 touch registers on wrong monitor when touch screen not primary display

hey MRX,regarding this, really hard to say what could be the cause.curious to know, the external monitor which you are using, did it by any chance some with its own drivers ? also have you tried reversing and placing the external monitor as the primary ? does it make any difference?

Hi I bought a Acer ICONIA 6120 Dual Touch Screen Laptop in 2011 when I was in US. I returned to India in 2011. In 2014 the bottom touch screen virtual key board started mal-functioning. The keys will automatically click making it unable to use. I gave it to a local technician he disabled the bottom touch screen. He also said the Hard Drive is corrupted needs replacement. He replaced with a new 500GB hard drive. While replacing it he changed the Windows 7 home premium to Windows 7 ultimate. From then on we were using it with a wireless key board. Now I am trying to repair the laptop. 1) Where can get 14" bottom touch screen so that I can buy and install 2) Where can get the recovery disks along with windows 7 home premium Thanks in advance for your help

Answer:Acer ICONIA 6120 Dual Touch Screen - Bottom Touch ...

I suggest that you first try to recover the laptop to factory-fresh Win7 home premium by purchasing the Iconia 6120 recovery media. This may help resolve the bottom screen issue. If you aren't in the US, please click on support at the top of this page. Choose the country. Then click "get support". And then choose contact acer for tablets. You should then get phone numbers or email addresses for Acer representatives who might help arrange for you to get this media.  Jack E/NJ

Received my ThinkPad Yoga today - i7 ? 8 Gb - 256 Gb SSD - Win 8.1 pro ? One major problem ? the touch screen stops responding to finger intermittently. It always responds to the stylus. Updated all the Lenovo drivers and did Windows updates. When it stops responding, the only way to get it to work is by doing a shut down ( restart does not work ). Read the forums and disabled and enabled HID-compliant vendor-defined device. That did not make any difference. Is this a common issue and is there a software fix for it or is it just a faulty screen?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 20CDCTR1WW - Touch Screen not responding to touch - intermittent

Hi Waferthin,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that you are facing the issue with Touch screen on ThinkPad Yoga.

To resolve the issue please follow the below troubleshooting steps.

Remove the Wacom touch gesture driver in the device manager and make sure to check "uninstall driver" when you do so otherwise the touch will stop working again a minute later.
And after that restart the system and the touch screen driver will automatically install.
In services.msc restart human interface device service to run automatically.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

My Ideapad P400 Touch with Windows 8 is no longer responding to right side swipe (charms bar gesture).  All other touch screen functions and gestures still work normally, including the left side swipe to switch apps.  The screen still displays the 'touch feedback' dots when I attempt the gesture but no charms bar appears! I've tried recalibrating as well as removing calibration of touch screen, and tried various other troubleshooting procedures I found on this site, like uninstalling recent updates, etc... Hi, I have the Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch, new as of april 2014, and since last week, the touch screen has stopped responding to touch inputs. Before this it has been working and behaving perfectly. I have tried to turn the laptop entirely off and on, reboots... No effect. The screen simply acts like it never was touch. The HID driver is present and claims to be working. I tried to reinstall it and it does so with no errors or warnings. I also tried to reinstall the monitor and graphics card drivers. The Tablet control panel icon offers a calibrate option but Reset is disabled. The calibrate doesn't help because it doesn't respond to touch. System says it has touch with 10 finger inputs. Windows 8.1 Update 1, Enterprise SKU Any advice is welcome. UPDATE! Touch works when I lay the screen out flat. But if I return it to any angle, it stops working. Is this related to LayFlat mode or is there a connection fault in the display for touch input so only when I lay it flat it has contact? Software or hardware?

Hello, I have the TOSHIBA Satellite U400. Everything is going great but I have a few concerns.

1. The Touch Panel (Media Buttons on top of keyboard -mute-media-play/pause-stop-rewind-forward-) turn
the computer ON if touched! How do you stop that from happening? I only need to use the POWER button.
Power button is enough.

2. The MUTE button on the Touch Panel does not actually "mute" or "unmute" sound. Instead, all it does
is turn the White Glow Light for the entire Touch Panel ON and OFF (including the word "SATELLITE").
How do I make it do its proper function?

3. When logging into Windows, I get to choose between Password or FACE RECOGNITION. How do I
set it to FACE RECOGNITION only without having to choose it?

Thank you,

I have just recently purchased the ASUS S200E Note book with Windows8 operating system. Not liking touch pads I purchased a Logitech mini wireless mouse.
The problem I am having is that when typing text the cursor has a mind of its own. It will jump wherever it likes to amongst previously typed text, outside of the text perhaps to another command etc and it is driving me crazy.
The last time I had such a problem with a new laptop it was resolved by turning off the touch pad. I have used information from the net in how to do this in Windows8 and having tried the suggestions e.g. control panel, hardware and sound, mouse, settings etc I can't find anyway of turning the touch pad off.
Can anyone help me please fn+f9 doesn't work on this model either.

hi c2nah777,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Have you tried booting the system in Recovery Mode (One Key Recovery), You're not going to Recover the system since your only going to check the touchscreen in that mode "Outside Windows"

See if the touhcscreen works there,
If Yes, I would suggest doing a factory Reset First Before jumping into a hardware Repair.
If No, Then I think you're correct with the digitizer.

Hi,

I turned on my laptop this morning to find that the touch pad doesn't work. This wasn't really a problem as I generally use a plug-in mouse, however, upon restarting my computer again, my keyboard also doesn't work.

I'm running Vista 32 bit and I have no idea what to do.

Does this sound like a software problem or a hardware problem? Is it possible that I have a virus that is causing this?

Would my best solution be to re-install Vista?

I have everything backed up so I don't mind doing that, however, I don't know how. When I bought my laptop Vista was pre-installed so I don't have the CD.

I'd be very appreciative to any help you guys could offer!

Hi, I have a Lenovo Y70 Touch with Windows 10. Recently, my touchscreen has been malfunctioning.  Randomly, the touchscreen will start receiving touch events at various locations of the screen withouth me touching it, making it nearly impossible to do anything (By touch events, I mean it is as if someone is touching their fingers to my screen over and over again).  I can disable the touchscreen, which makes it so I can do stuff at least, but I would like to use the touchscreen without a problem. It seems like the false touch events are being received in a particular location on the left side of my screen for the most part, which leads me to believe it's a hardware issue. I ran the Lenovo Solution Center tool's hardware test and it didn't find anything, but I also didn't see a test for the touchscreen in there. I'm stumped. Even if it is a hardware issue, I'm not sure how to proceed with Lenovo (I am under warranty, thankfully). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

My Lenovo U410 Touch recently got damaged - the hinge broke causing the touch screen to **bleep**.I was told that a repair was not feasible as none of the repair shops near me were able to source the parts needed.I therefore bought a new laptop. However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Cheers

Hi, My G400s series touch screen laptop touch not working. It stops working just one month back. It was purchased around 16 months back. I have done all the trick which suggested on the forum by many users but all in vain. I have always updated with latest updates by Microsoft including Window 8.1/latest driver by Lenovo but I think this is not the issue with Windows upgrade because this was done months back and touch was working perfectly. If this is hardware problem the Lenovo should accept the fault and change the failure part free of cost or come up with some solution because many Lenovo users suffering with this problem. Kindly some one can suggest me where I should approach to get this rectify?

I have the IdeaPad S510p touch, which seems to have a similar problem as other Lenovo models where the touch screen seems to stop working intermittently.  It seems to stop working after a while or after it has been sleeping.  It starts working again randomly.  I tried downloading a driver for a different model, but it didn't load or allow me to open it.  I just got this computer a few days ago.  I'm not sure if it is better just to take it back to the store, but I am concerned that this problem will exist even if I exchange it for a new one...

Answer:Touch Screen intermittently working (IdeaPad S510p touch)

Hello... I have an ideapad S510p, about 4 months old. Today, the touch screen stopped working. In the middle of using an app and using the touch screen. I searched all through settings and can't find anywhere to adjust its settings or anything. And in fact I saw that this computer "Has no touch/pen screen", which it does. Or it did until about an hour ago. I am relatively clueless but i'm learning. And would like some instruction/options. ThanksJohnpal716
