I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows 8.1 with Bung is pretty much Windows 8.1, just with an additional requirement for the OEM. It'll be upgraded to 10.

Hi all
My mind is boggling with all the tablets that are available.
I would like your opinions on which is the best on a low budget.
I have been leaning towards a Gemini joytab.
I need a 10" screen and I will be using it for the Internet and basic things such as email etc.
Thanks in anticipation

Question: Budget Tablet?

does anyone have knowledge of/experience with the Insignia Tablets? I saw an 11.6" screen model, 32GB, Android 7.0 with a detachable keyboard for $130, which seems fairly reasonable. I only need a tablet for the most basic things: email, surfing the net, etc.

Are there any other tablets in a similar price range? Thank you.

My budget is below RM 1000 (around 250USD right now..., max 350USD), I want a tablet that can play 3D games (like Six-Guns, Halo: Spartan Assault, Project Spark, Windows 10 Store games) and was running smoothly.
Specs I HOPE I can get:
64-bit Windows (32-bit acceptable, if possible, please tell me some apps that doesn't support 32-bit)
4GB RAM (2GB minimum)
Thank you.

I am a tech enthusiast who does not have the money to fund his habit. As such I am not able to update my tech as often as I desire. Also when I do it requires much saving and a painstaking amount of research on what I will ultimately spend my hard saved money on. Now obviously research should always be done especially on such pricey purchases so as to avoided the dreaded buyers remorse that undoubtedly occurs because Technology updates so frequently. So while I mull over slash save toward my next computer purchase which I am hoping will be a fanless Surface device I find myself surrounded by ancient technology by which to check email, browse the web, and use social media at home. While my Lumia Icon is great at this I really want a tablet with a 7 inch and up screen to use at home both for the added screen real estate and so my Lumia is not discharged when I need to venture out of my home. So my question is what is a good budget windows tablet that I could purchase for under $100 while I save toward my ultimate goal? I have heard that the HP Stream 7 and WinBook TW700 might fit this bill and was wondering if anyone could offer their experiences with these devices. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Good Budget tablet.

I use a Linx 8, bought off Amazon UK, haven't had any problems within the past month of having it so far.

I am looking for the cheapest Windows 8 tablet available. I am getting one to replace my ipad and one for my uncle. The best I can find is a refurbished Dell XPS 10 with winRT for $200ish. I can also get a new Vivotab Smart with atom proc for $400. Ideally I want an atom proc, but the price difference may be a bit much. Are there cheaper atom tablets for less than $400? I don't want to spend that much since its mostly for leisure use.

I am also curious about web browsing performance. The atom will be faster than the ARM one, but by how much? And will the ARM one be faster than my old ipad? The other thing is there is supposedly flash support for both. How good is the performance?

Lastly. Is there any news of Windows 8 getting Words with Friends? It's available on Windows Phone 8, but not regular Windows 8. I am a WWF addict. I also play a lot of Scramble with friends. Other than web surfing, these are the only two must have apps. I have a bunch of friends both real and fictional that play them so substitutes wouldn't work.

Answer:Help me decide on budget Windows 8 tablet

The ARM will have much better battery life than the Atom, but the Atom will be somewhat faster and can run x86 applications (doesn't use RT).

For only $400 i'd go with the Atom, but it has half the battery life of the ARM version.

Hi,
I'm going to be doing some presentations and teaching online. I'm using Team Viewer 9 running on Windows 7 as my software. I would like to be able to have the equivalent to a whiteboard visible to the participants.
For a demonstration of the sort of thing I want to do see
where the presenter draws circles etc. He doesn't do any handwriting in the YouTube video (but he does in the actual presentation at CBT nuggets)
I'm total newbie when it comes to tablets, but a tablet that allows drawing direct on the tablet and simultaneous display on a Windows monitor. I know that the presentation on You Tube was done with various Wacom devices. Intuos4, Cintiq monitor, or more recently, Cintiq Companion tablet. (I tweeted the presenter Shawn Powers). These devices are a bit beyond my budget. Is there a cheaper alternative? Sadly the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is not yest available in Australia (where I am) - I'm not sure if it's a possible answer, but I'm assuming it would be. Is there anything else that's not going to mean I have to take out a mortgage on my house?
Thanks in advance for your help.
cheers,
Bernard

I assume you mean you want to use an app on a standard tablet such as a Nexus 7 or IPad and stream the tablet screen content to a monitor or TV?

I have a Samsung Galaxy TabPro S and there is a very annoying problem to do with the display where after it times out, the display will not immediately wake up. Windows isn't in a sleep state as my music still plays in the background while the display is off. I have also turned off connected standby in the registry.

An example is when you leave your PC on and the monitor turns off but the PC is still running and not in sleep or hibernation, but when you shake the mouse or press a key, it will not instantly turn the display on and seems like the display itself has went to sleep.

Is there a setting I can change to do with the display itself so it wakes up immediately on keyboard/mouse click?

TLDR; Display itself takes very long to wake up rather than instant after screen timeout. Looks like the display has went into a form of sleep rather than Windows 10.

I want budget tablet (at max 20000 INR) for reading and some basic editing. My requirements:
1. Good battery life
2. 4 GB RAM
3. Better multiasking (split screen view)
4. Good processor
5. At least 64GB storage
I was searching for Mi Pad 3. It runs Android. And fortunately Microsoft have good office apps on android. But is not yet launched in India.
So I googled for alternatives and for more info.
I realized that Mi Pad 3's MIUI 9 does not yet have split screen view. So it was deal breaker. Also I realized that I wont be having any Android updates. So I was quick to look for Windows tablet.
But then there is simply no budget Windows tablet in India. I wish to have tablet which will Windows update for at least five years. Or may be I will install Latest Windows from USB, so that I can always have latest build on tablet.
I come across fact that Mi Pad 2 ran Windows:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ijoh_ZNMDk
And this awesome multitasking in iOS 11 with iPad:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqFyfbCbNpc
So I realized if I can have full Windows on tablet, it will be a lot beautiful than both.
I read recently that Windows on snapdragon will have huge battery life. How long we should wait to get such budget Windows tablet? Or is there any such available already?

Question: Display to tablet

Hi everyone,  I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre 300 and I am trying to wireless display to an Android tablet. I have set up a local network using a router. I am trying to use TeamViewer to remotely display to the tablet. It is working, but it requires a randomly generated password each time you try to pair the tablet and Lenovo. This will not work because if the Lenovo is not connected to a monitor, obviously I can't see the password to type it into the tablet. I do NOT have access to the internet while doing all this. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much!Cait

Answer:Display to tablet

Hello wolfpackpullerThanks for using the Lenovo forums. How do you mean that you cannot see the display if the unit is not connected to a monitor.

I believe there is no wokaround for the password, teamviewer just simply has this feature, you may be able to use something like what I use, RemotR.

This one lets you remote control your desktop and your games separately.

hi folks,I want to ask you, can I change my XGA display with SXGA , and if yes what exact model of SXGA would you recommend? Are the LCD panel connectors and inverter same for XGA and SXGA and will be there a problem with touchscreen replacement? Did I have to change BIOS?My laptop model is x61 tablet 7767 BFG with multitouch.PS. I've made a little search to find out that 7767 is purchased with this lcd's -XGA 13N7241/43/37/24/33/39/31/26 ,and they can be changed with - SXGA 93P5609 or 13N7235/25. Is this right ? Still don't know what to do with touchscreen!

Hi,I recently bought an X61 tablet with sxga+ display and as far I can tell from now it is really great. There's one thing I couldn't find online or in the manual, so I'm asking here. Out of the box there seems to be a very thin foil on the display, which I just recognize because there is a small piece of it cut out in the bottom left corner probably for being able to remove it. What I'm not sure about is if I should remove this foil or not. Whether it is for protection when the tablet is used in tablet mode or the foil is intended to be removed. With it the surface of the display (when using the pen) feels pretty rough (first impression: too rough) compared to my wacom tablet for my desktop pc. Again, I'm not sure if this is intended to give the user more of a feeling he or she is writing on paper or if this effect is not intended to be there and comes from the foil I didn't remove. I appreciate any information on that.Thanks.Message Edited by Wizard on 04-20-2008 08:03 PM

I have a Sony tablet with w detachable keyboard. If I don't want to use the keyboard, in Windows 8.1 I would tap the keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the task bar or place the cursor in a text box and the keyboard would appear on my display.
In Windows 10 if I switch to tablet mode the keyboard icon disappears and placing the cursor in the text box does nothing. I have looked for settings to change this and I cannot find it.
The problem seems to come and go on a whim.

Hi everyone, I don't know if this is possible or not.I can watch iplayer tv progs on my Android tablet OK. What I want to try is to output it to a ty monitor. The idea being that it remains connected via WiFi but can be used on other tvs in the house that do not have computers. I can't find much info on this, is it an unrealistic expectation. What do you think?

Answer:Getting iplayer on a tablet to display on a tv.

Connecting a tablet PC to a TV is very simple. Most of the android tablets being sold have an HDMI output port on them. The connectors are in different sizes, and I don't believe any of the tablets are coming with the HDMI cable included.Go to the page of the manufacturer of your device, and the cable will be listed.
You can only connect a tablet PC to a HD TV that has a HDMI input port. Once you connect the cable between your tablet and the TV, you will need to change the source on the TV to the HDMI input port that you used (most HD TVs have multiple HDMI input ports). Everything you see on your tablet will appear on the TV. You do not need to do anything to the tablet to make the picture show on the TV.

Hi, I have an X220T tablet. however, few days ago I had a problem with screen. Laptop Boots up normally but I dont have any display on the screen. Screen just lights up a little on the edges but virtually nothing is visible. I tried to connect the laptop to an external Monitor and was working fine. Weirdly, the digitizer works well when hovering on the screen with the poiinter only visiible on the external monitor. I tried disconnecting all power supply (battery and AC adaptor) then holding the power button several times, still not working. Also tried flashing light directly to the screen, still nothing is visible.. Need advise.

Answer:X220T Tablet Powers on but no display

I would need to see it to determine whether the panel itself has just failed or the backlight is out.  It is an LED backlight so there is no bulb to break. It is possible to blow a fuse on the motherboard, but that is unlikely unless something happened at the time it went out, The fuses on that mode (all newer tablets) l are VERY fast burning, so you can blow them. Unfortunately, Lenovo doesn't replace fuses, so if the motherboard or the panel has failed, you are looking at a very expensive repair. Do you still have a warranty? There is one cheaper thing that could break and cause your symptoms. There is normally a magnetic switch that turns off the backlight when the screen is closed. That could break, although I have never seen one go out. I cannot be more specific. I have never examined that motherboard to find the fuses. Also, I don't know where the lid switch is located. If I were looking at, I would first try swapping a panel. It would provide lots of info and it is the only part I have in stock.

hello everyone!! I hope I am writing in the correct area...I am new here..
I have a question for you technology fans. I often have to visit clients and show them what we do. We work with high res pictures so it is important to see them on a good screen, better if big. But since I go visit them, I have to bring the devices with me and I cannot ask them for plugs or wifi passwords...The idea is to be more independent and self-sufficient possible...I am looking for something different than the classic tablet... So they can be surprised when I hand it to them....Maybe a really big one? That I can possibly command through the one I am holding in my hands?...Or an interactive screen where they can zoom the picture? Or some kind of panel you roll and carry around? I am not into projectors because you cannot zoom and you lose the quality. Please help!!! thank you so much.

The graphics chipset in the x220 only supports two active displays, including the one in the laptop itself.  You would need a USB video adapter or similar external solution to run three displays.

Hi,

I have just bought the M200 and a wide-screen external LCD. I couldn't set the screen resolution for my external display to 1680x1050 with the display drivers the M200 came with, so I therefore updated the NVIDIA driver to the newest one available on the NVIDIA-website. I works, but now I cannot change the display direction via any of the TOSHIBA utilities - it raises this error (translated from Danish): "The setting is not supported. Open the display setttings in the Control Panel, change your settings and try changing the display direction again."

I have now three questions:
1. Is this about the upgraded display driver at all? And if not, then what am I doing wrong?

2. If it is about the upgrade, then how will I be able to change the display direction and have a wide-screen external monitor?

3. If this is not in any way possible (which would make me really sad :( ), then how do i reinstall the old driver, without reinstalling everything? I can't find the driver on any of the shipped cds.

Can anybody help me, please?
Thank you very very much...

Answer:The NVIDIA display drivers and the Tablet Functions

Hi

As far as I know the driver installed on notebook is developed and adapted for this unit.

This situation is because driver update. Seeming original driver can not support this high resolution.

In my opinion if everything work fine with NVIDIA driver you can change displays using NVIDIA settings. I do not know exactly but there must be option ?nView Display Mode?.

If you want to install Toshiba display driver you can find it on ?Tools & Utilities CD? or you can find latest one on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under ?Support & Downloads?. Go to ?Download drivers? and there you can choose product type, family product series and model that you have.

I have an X61 Tablet (7764-CTO), and I recently upgraded the BIOS via System Update to version 1.22.  The BIOS flash went fine and my system information is showing the new BIOS version, but now my On Screen Display does not work. When I boot up my computer, I get the Vista error message saying that the "On screen display message generator has stopped working".  From there I have the choice to check online for a solution, close the program or debug the program.  If I close the program my hotkeys still work (mute, vol +, vol - ), but I get no OSD. I have tried uninstalling the On Screen Display via the Hotkey utility and then reinstalling, but that has not solved the problem. Has anyone else run into this problem?  I don't know how else to fix it other than uninstall/reinstall which didn't work.  Any other advice? Thanks in advance!Jeff

I get this message all of a sudden: "Cannot switch to secondary landscape mode while WAN is enabled."  This tablet doesn't even have WAN. I read elsewhere that this has something to do with Access Connections 4.42, which recently installed in a thinkvantage auto update. I did not have this problem prior to this update, but I have no way of confirming if this is actually the issue. All I know is the screen won't stay rotated in secondary landscape -- and I am trying to force that mode via the rotate button. (BTW, I have never found this thing to do the active rotate claimed in the marketing material. Others have said this can be located in the Tablet PC control panel item, but I don't see anything there that would enable this feature...) Any help would be greatly appreciated.Message Edited by MisterTablit on 03-10-2008 03:27 PM

I have recently purchased the X230T Convertible Tablet.  I have to say that I love it.  It is just what I wanted.  I am having one issue though.  The display flickers, and squiggly lines appear from time to time for a brief few seconds.  I have searched the internet for this problem and see that I am not the only one that has this issue.  I have adjusted the refresh rate and that was okay at first but now we are back to the flickering, fading in and out.  I've adjusted brightness settings, restored default settings, checked for updates both windows and lenovo.  I'm selfish and don't want to send my laptop off for repair or leave it at a technicians shop for days... Has anyone else experienced this problem? What kind of a fix is there for this?  PLEASE HELP !!!

Answer:X230T - Convertible Tablet Display Problem

I posted this a couple of days ago and haven't had any responses.  I spoke to Lenovo Tech Support this morning.  They said it could be a cable in the computer that is loose and I would have to send it in.  I had done some research online and something triggered when the question was raised about the ultra base.  I had been plugging my power cord into the ultrabase and not into the computer direct.  I wasn't sure that could be a problem, but I decided this morning to plug into the computer directly instead of the base.  I have been using the computer all day and no issues with the flickering display.  I'm going to try it for another 2-3 days and make sure that is fixed.  If so, Lenovo will ship me a new ultra base.  Keep your fingers crossed !!!

I cannot figure out how to switch off the display on my tablet without it goes to sleep.
When comparing power plan settings available on my Laptop I can see that several options are missing on my tablet.
Thanks for any advice!

Just bought the Yoga 710 -141SK.
Running on Windows 10, 64bit. Firefox browser. I also use the Classic Shell app rather than the usual Windows 10 at start.

Full screen appears ok in "normal" mode but when I switch to tablet mode, I do not get a full screen. there is a black portion running along the top of the display which effectively reduces the screen size.
As some of the screen is also lost when typing, I am only able to see a reduced display.
I donīt know how to amend this.
Advice please!

Hello Community,so I recently installed Windows 8 on my X230 Tablet.Everything works fine so far besides my display wont rotate automatically. The rotate-key right under the screen works fine and I have used the Lenovo System Update to get all necessary drivers but the display still does not rotate automatically. Is there a setting that I am not finding or any software/driver that I have to install?

Answer:X230 Tablet - display won't rotate automatically

I solved that problem by installing the Win 7 driver "Tablet Shortcut Menu". The UI for that program doesn't work but at least auto screen rotation works perfectly.  Hope it helped.

Hi, all, I do hope someone will be able to help. Until recently I had my aging laptop attached to a nice, big monitor, to enable me to edit photos (this being a big hobby of mine). I had a very old Wacom tablet (over 10 years), on which the connections had to be glued, soldered and cable-tied back a few times, but it eventually gave up the ghost; so I thought that I would take the opportunity of happening to upgrading to Elements 9 to get a nice, new Trust graphics tablet.

Problem No.1) The tablet mouse will happily cross from laptop to external monitor, but the tablet pen will only work on the monitor designated 'primary'. I've not been able to overcome this, and it's a real hassle having the external monitor designated as the primary, as all the windows and everything else open up on it, which I have never had to deal with before, and drives me mad. I've reached a compromise, where I move an image I am editing across to the laptop to do any fine work with the pen, but it's still something I'd like sorted, as doing this is a real pain in the b#m, and rather makes having the external monitor - which was not cheap - a lot less useful.

No.2) Whilst messing about with display and NVIDIA setings, I now find that, even though the laptop monitor is designated the primary (by both the windown and NVIDIA menus), the start menu/taskbar all appear across the bottom of the external monitor when I boot up. I've managed to move the quick launch i... Read more

Hi everyone
I bought the MS Wireless Display Adapter and it's working great for mirroring my screen, but now I would like to use the expanded desktop function. My question is: how do I play a YouTube video full screen on my TV while I work on my tablet?
It seems like an easy thing to do, but without a mouse, I have no idea if that's even possible?
An alternative (which would be a cool feature) is to project a certain virtual desktop (W10) to your device and switch to another to continue working.
Can anyone help? :)
Thanks!

Answer:Casting to MS Wireless Display Adapter using tablet

I think I'll use a virtual trackpad for a while: TouchMousePointer gives you a virtual trackpad for your Windows tablet | Windows Central

OK, First off this is a pretty amazing tablet.... very powerfull...a little loud though.... Ill explain my setup and then my question. I have a Helix with I7 and 8GB of Ram, with keyboard dock.  I also have the USB 3.0 Port Replicator (not sure if that's the right name) I have 2 external displays connected by dvi and 1 via usb for a total of 3 external displays.  of course I have the Helix screen as a forth.   We use one note a lot for work so  I have a setup where I flip the helix around in the keyboard dock for when I am using onenote and using the stylus... it sits right in front of me and the 3 monitors are behind it....  I know when I have the helix flipped the other way, I just close it and the display will turn off and I just use my 3 external displays... but I am curious if I can have the helix in "note taking mode" but still turn the display off when I don't need it...I just prop it up and turn it on when I need it..and push it back flat and turn it off when I don't... I know that I can just undock and flip it, but that disconnects me from my vpn and work.  The screens flash and re calibrate... and all that... then I have to vpn back in..\So all that to ask if I can turn off my display when its flipped while using external monitors?

Answer:Turn off tablet display but not external monitors.

There are 3 display options, can anyone say which is the best for using outside in daylight? And is it truly readable outside in bright sun? THANKS!

Answer:Daylight Readable Display on x200 Tablet?

I have the "SuperBright" 285-nit LED display and would say it has to be the best for daylight use due to its high brightness. I have used it outdoors in direct sunlight and it works pretty well.  I can easily take notes, type office documents, or do other tasks that have a light background and decent high contrast text/icons.  However, applications that are dominated by dark backgrounds (videos, games, etc.) are far less usable due to the reduced contrast cause by direct sunlight.  Also note that if you are wearing sunglasses it will be very difficult to use any backlit display outdoors due to the polarization. In conclusion, the 285nit SuperBright x200 Tablet is usable in bright sunlight and is one of, if not the best  tablet displays for this purpose.  However, if all you care about is daylight usability and don't require a tablet, then the T400 high nit (680nit IIRC) would be a better option due to its ridiculously bright display.Message Edited by jonlumpkin on 06-25-2009 08:57 PM

Hi I have an X60-Tablet.  Lately when I move the display at a certain angle portions of the screen begin  to flicker and everything is garbled.  If I move it to another angle, things straighten out and are clear.    This wasn't too bad until now, the flicker occurs when I put the display in the full tablet position. Any ideas why or how to repair (hopefully w/o shipping it in for repair since I use it for teaching and don't have a spare). Mark

I have an x200 tablet with Windows 7 (clean install) and all the latest drivers. When I boot up, the tablet display works fine, even showing the Windows page when starting up.  But then it fades to a pale gray where the background isn't very visible.  When I connect an external monitor via VGA, the external monitor works fine while the tablet display doesn't.  If I try to restart, both displays work fine while shutting down and booting back up, but the tablet display fades again at the same point during start up?? Any ideas?

If it is under warranty, call for service, rather than dealing with it. The first step is to unplug it and remove the battery. Press the power button 5 times, holding it for 10 seconds on the last push. Put it back together; plug it in, and try again.

After an intensive monthly cleaning action I recognized some black points on the back side of the tablet front glass. I did some finger checks on the display to see if it is a pixel error. I can say with any doubt it is not a pixel error.

After a Google research I found some people who have described the same . They suppose this is the result of the heavy working fan.

Is there any support out there that can help me fixing this problem?

Answer:Tecra M4 - black points behind the Tablet Display Cover

Hi

I really don?t understand the connection between black points on the display and the heavy working cooling module.
For me it?s nonsense? internet provides many useful informations but also very stupid gossips, myths and stories?

Fact is that you have got some black pixels on the TFT display and this looks like an hardware issue.
So in such case there is only one solution; either this part will be replaced or repaired? I assume it must be replaced?

For all replacements you have to contact the ASP in your country. Ask them for the help and further handling.

I am running Windows XP on the X61 Tablet with Ultrabase.  In my classroom, I routinely am connected to a TV set as my secondary display in extended desktop mode, with the TV display rotated 180 degrees so that I can view the tablet (docked) and the students see a different view via the TV.   When I attempt to change to notebook + monitor clone instead of extended desktop for those rare occasions where we need to view the same thing at the same time, I get the BSOD.  In fact, I cannot change ANY display settings (other than my wallpaper) while docked.  Of course, I don't have the option to alter the TV's settings when undocked because the system doesn't recognize a secondary display. Occasionally, I also get BSOD when docking/undocking regardless of the procedure followed, but this seems to be a "hit and miss" problem. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently installed Windows 7 32bit on my Toshiba Portege M400-S4031. After installing Corel Painter, I noticed that it was not pressure sensitive. After some quick Google-ing, I found that I had to update the Wacom tablet PC driver. I installed it and it got the pressure sensitivity working. i thought everything would be fine, but I soon found that if I change the display mode to anything that isn't the primary landscape mode, the cursor won't follow the pen. I tried calibrating the screen several times and uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but nothing work. Also, the rotation button below the screen doesn't work. More specifically, it seems like the .exe (PHTRot.exe) which it's suppose to run when pressed doesn't work. I've installed/uninstalled/reinstalled the Toshiba Tablet PC Extension Package and the Added Value Package but no luck.

I have a few-months old Yoga 2 11 that was working perfectly, until a few weeks ago when I went to use it in tablet mode the display screen went all out of whack. It turns the screen, but only half of it - the top half of the screen is turned and the menu bar shows up in the middle of the screen, and the bottom half looks like the screen in regular computer mode.  I've tried restarting, tried turning tablet mode off, but every time I flex it back to use as a tablet this happens, virtually making that feature unuseable. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution for it?

I just got a new X220T earlier today and right out of the gate I've had this problem. Basically, whenever certain things happen (UAC popping up [before I disabled it], shutting the laptop lid, restarting, logging in/out and some more) the display will rotation clockwise either 90 or 180 degrees. These seem to be times when the whole screen refreshes, so maybe it's the autorotate for tablet software gone haywire? Has anyone else had this issue or are there any suggestions to fix it? Thanks!

Answer:X220 Tablet Display Autorotates 90-180 Degrees Whenever it Feels Like It

I know the Intel graphics software has hotkeys registered that rotate the screen. Perhaps that's interfering? Also, there's this Screen Reader ap I think that's set to auto-rotate the screen when put in tablet mode. I disabled that feature on my device a couple of times, I guess after updates this resets itself again.

I'm truly at my ends dealing with this issue, and searching without luck for a fix. As stated above, I've got a 2015 era Lenovo Yoga 12 (S2?) 20DK that has been used on and off over the last 18 months. About 6 months ago it started; while flipping the screen from laptop mode to tablet mode, the screen will flicker a few times and after completing the transition to tablet the screen is off. Won't power up, nothing. Now during the act of flipping to tablet mode I can stop at certain points before folding it totally flat into tablet mode, and it will work fine (keyboard/mouse disabled, screen rotation works). There seems to be a sweet spot at about a 45 degree angle in tablet mode that it works fine. Even like that, if I even bump it a little more towards full on flipped back tablet mode, it'll shutdown. I've just been ignoring the problem for the most part but for a new job I started I need it to go into full tablet mode. Everything works fine in traditional Laptop Mode. I've tried updating the Driver, BIOS, and Windows.I've disabled the Sensor Data Service and Sensor Monitoring ServiceTried using a strong magnet on different points around bottom of bezel to "fool" any sensors Nothing is working. My gut always assumed this was hardware related due to a bad sensor of some sort but I cant find anything close to this issue using Google-Fu. First, you either need a fully qualified WiDi capable TV, or an external Wireless Display Adapter such as the Netgear PTV3000 Push2TV, or a Belkin ScreenCast, that will receive the wireless display signal from the Yoga, and output it to your TV's HDMI input port.

1. Set up your TV's adapter, make all connections, and power it on.
2. Turn on the TV, and change the input to the HDMI port, you have the adapter plugged into.
3. On your Yoga, touch the "Settings" app.
4. On the left side of the settings page, scroll down until you see the yellow "Display" selection. Touch the Display button.
5. On the right side, scroll down until you see the "Wireless Display". Touch the Wireless Display to open the app.

When the app opens, it states "No Nearby Devices Were Found"

You need to turn on the app by touching those three, horizontally aligned periods, directly under time, at the top right.

Touch the "Enable Wireless Display" box, to put a check in it.

You can close the selection box by touching the three dots again. In a minute, your TV adapter should be visible in the right part of the screen,

Touching the adapter, brings it to the "connecting" status. Shortly, the TV will display a number identification code on it's screen. Then the Yoga displays an "Invitation To Connect" with a number keypad below that box. Type the number displayed on the TV screen, into the Yoga's box, and hit done. (... Read more

Hello,

The resolution to this problem is actually very simple. Go to display properties. Then click the last tab on the right, then click advanced. Change the settings for the "second monitor" to "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor". This should fix the problem of the upside down 2nd display. Have a great day.

I have an X201 Tablet (3113-W4M) that came preloaded with Windows XP SP3.  I blew away the XP image and reloaded with Windows 7 Enterprise and obtained all Windows 7 drivers from the Lenovo website. The issue is that after the system resumes from Sleep or Hibernate *and* I plug in a USB mouse or USB mouse/keyboard combo, I am unable to lock, shutdown, restart, or hibernate the system.  Additionally, anything that invokes UAC fails to display.  If I look at Processes under Task Manager, I see where consent.exe is running (called when a UAC approval prompt should be displayed).  Sometimes it is running multiple times corresponding to multiple events that should have displayed the prompt (e.g. running RegEdit).  Turning off UAC is a workaround to this issue but does not address the root cause and does not address the lock/shutdown/etc. issue. After extensive troubleshooting that included 2 full OS reloads, process monitoring, and deep log reviews, I have narrowed my issue to the following steps: 1) Boot tablet with no USB mouse and/or keyboard attached2) Attach USB mouse and/or keyboard>>>Attempt to lock workstation and launch Regedit both function as expected.3) Hibernate tablet (USB mouse and/or keyboard attached)4) Resume from hibernate (USB mouse and/or keyboard attached)>>>Attempt to lock workstation and launch Regedit both fail I discovered this as I move my system from work (Logitech S510 keyboard/mouse c... Answer:Yoga 2 13 - Laptop won't automatically switch to tablet mode when I flip the display back in Windows...

I don't think Lenovo has made the Transition Software fully compatible with Win10 yet. I myself have only minor problems: 1. When the lid is in almost closed position the Transition software recognises tablet mode. So everytime i open my laptop it goes into tablet mode and only after a few seconds into laptop mode. When waking up from sleep mode these few seconds really hurt becouse otherwise the laptop would be on instantly. 2.When I want to type something while in tablet mode only Windows apps make the keyboard pop up. In 3rd party apps I have to do it manually by tapping on the icon in the notification bar. There seem to be different problems with transition between different modes and I'm not sure if I should open a new thread for mine. I know this didn't help very much.

It sounds to me like a loose connection inside the ThinkPad.  Since this happens at the BIOS splash screen, it cannot possibly be a software/driver problem.  I would recommend calling support to get warranty service about it.

I am afraid it might be a hardware issue as the problem started when i turned the screen from laptop to tablet mode. Currently My X230t is just a Laptop and NOT a TABLET as there is NO touch and NO pen input, as if windows doesn't even recognize any tablet hardware on board. PLEASE HELP. Thankyou

Answer:Help: X230t " A supported tablet not found on the system" Problem. Its not a tablet anymore

Perhaps the cable got severed when you were turning it around? I've had a Wifi antenna cable break this way on an HP tablet... If it's still under warranty have them check it and replace it if necessary. It could also be a loose connector but there's no way to be sure without opening the screen assembly.

I have a Tablet drawing monitor, and today the pen stopped working, I fiddled with it for a while, I tried uninstalling the drivers for the Hardware and reinstalling, but then I noticed that the Tablet Settings and Calibration Options you normally see in Control Panel are mysteriously gone. After maybe 2 hrs of googling I've given up,. there's very little on google, and now im considering doing a "Rest This PC." Any help would be appreciated.

(I've just tried "preview post" several times and each time it's stripped the whitespace and turned my ten paragraphs into a megaparagraph. I'm going to try pressing "submit new thread" and hope it doesn't do it this time.)

Hello
My Wacom tablet's pen has died and I hope to have a new one arriving in a few days but in the meantime I dug out an old Hanvon Rollick tablet which isn't supported under Windows 10 (which I use) but I nevertheless found some Windows 7 drivers for it which people reported working under Windows 10.

The problem is my PC is trying to behave like a tablet e.g. putting that blue teardrop thing on text boxes on Chrome (I'm not sure of its correct name) and when I try to ctrl-click a link, it shows a little "ctrl" label under the cursor and won't open the link in a new tab like it's supposed to and just does it in the same tab.

It takes multiple tries to right-click and open a link and when I hover over the link the cursor keeps rapidly flashing between the arrow and finger icons.

It is very difficult to click minimise, restore or close on Chrome because hovering over them doesn't make them go red and clicking on them doesn't tend to make them do anything unless you try many, many times. It's being profoundly irritating in programs other than Chrome too but those are some examples.

I was used to old my Wacom (Volito 2) trying to do tablet-like things but stopped it doing bubbles with gpedit's "turn off pen feedbac... Read more

When I use the X220 as a laptop I can duplicate the display through my SmartBoard projector but when I use it as a tablet and it is docked I have to turn the tablet and dock 180 degrees so I am not writing upside down on the smartboard;  that means the dock has the cables coming out the front.  I can undock and plug everything into the X220 but the beauty of the dock is that I don't have to!

Hi. Recently, I have noticed that wifi connection in Tablet mode in my Thinkpad X230 Tablet is significantly slower than in laptop mode. Sometimes, it completely disconnected to the network. I tried to test with Speedtest. net and download a file via Internet Download manager. Both show that laptop mode has significantly higher and better speed connection than does laptop mode.  Does anyone have the same experience as me? Is the antena has any problem??? Thank you. I

I think iBall Slide i701 is the cheapest tablet in world (windows) even cheaper than Lumia 430.

Only USD 77$
But i have some questions before i proceed to buy it for my child
1. As it is 16gb tablet but in actual we get only 4gb free space & i have read in reviews that once we update windows & other apps we are left with only 400mb space & we cant install other apps. So is it possible to install software's (.exe) on 64GB memory card which this tablet support ?
I am not talking about APPS, I am talking about .exe files like photoshop, ERP, educational softwares etc.
2. As it is having only 1 USB port so it is possible to attach a USB hub so that we can attach pen drives, KB, Mouse, HDD, 3g Dongel & power adapter at once ?
If anyone of you have used any windows 8/8.1 tablet then please reply.

I have a Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph that works without problems aside from the fact that, when I undock it from the keyboard, it doesn't detect that it should now be in Tablet Mode. I have to manually go to the Action Center and toggle it there. Same with docking it back. I have already checked my settings and I didn't disable Tablet Mode either.

Anyone have an idea how I can resolve this? I just want to seamlessly dock and undock the tablet and it should switch to tablet or desktop mode respectively.

I don't know if it's relevant but the OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language.

Answer:Tablet mode doesn't get engaged when I undock my Windows tablet?

I would like to know how to enable this as well - In fact, I was hoping to be prompted to change modes when dock/undocking....instead of having to find the setting and toggle tablet mode on/off every time.

I am currently on a Dell Venue 11 5130 with a Bay Trail Atom Z3770 and 2GB ram. While it serves the purpose of my usage of office suites and web browsing, I could use a little faster tablet. It would stutter if I have more than 5 tabs open on Edge. But there is nothing wrong with this tablet with a plenty of battery life and nothing broken after using if for close to 4 years now.
I am looking at a Dell Latitude 11 5175 tablet with a Core M3 and 4GB of ram. Is this upgrade worth it? Or should I save some more money to get the Core M5 version for around $150 more? My usage is office word, and youtube.

The latest bios update of X1 Tablet (Model:20GG) breaks the sleep (or hibernation) function. I found the tablet sometimes cannot be waken up by pressing the power button after entering connected standby. The version of the flawed BIOS is1.68-1.21 (N1LUJ30W) After rolling the embedded controller version back to 1.20 (N1LUJ29W), the problem no longer exists.

hi guys i really want to try a windows 8 tablet and i plan to buy it either by the end of this month or by next January. I am confused on what to pick though
First of all, the reason why I want a windows 8 tablet IS because i like the interface. but more importantly, i need metatrader and cTrader in legacy app as im a full time forex trader. I have metatrader in my iphone but you cant seriously compare that with the windows version (no tabbing, no lines drawing, no fibonacci, etc.). cTrader doesnt even exist there.
im looking to replace my macbook pro (which btw i also installed windows 8 on it through parallels virtual desktop) with a windows 8 tablet to support my trading while im outside
So basically I dont need a super i7 tablet or something. However, im curious to know how windows 8 atom tablets perform. I have seen enough reviews and some people says atom tablets perform badly in legacy apps. Question is, how bad is that bad? Does it lag so bad even though i dont need to run heavy apps like adobe? I only need to run these trading apps which btw are very light. You can compare them with MS paint i believe, just with constant connection.
would it do well in atom tablets? I dont want lags when i switch from win8 native apps to metatrader and cTrader.
next question - how does windows 8 tablet on-screen keyboard work with legacy apps? Would i have special gesture to show up the on-screen keyboard or it automatically appears when i touch the screen? I personally dont believe ... Read more

I forgot to add one more question. how responsive legacy apps (desktop mode) is to your finger? Do i really need a pen or it doesnt help either? Because acer w700 doesnt come with a pen so it's also a crucial question for me

I have a desktop that runs Windows 8.1. My x220 tablet runs Windows 7. I was thinking about getting a wacom bamboo tablet for my art in photoshop (which I make on my desktop... x220 isn't powerful enough for what I do in photoshop). Then I realized that my x220 tablet is kind of the same thing. Is there anyway I can connect my tablet to my desktop so that when I'm using photoshop, I can use the stylus on the tablet to control what I do? Many thanks in advance.

AFAIK, not easily:http://www.ersatzhaderach.com/blog/2013/02/02/turn-an-old-penabled-tablet-pc-into-a-networkable-art-...

I'm new to the Tablet community but excited to venture into it.  My workplace provided me with an X201 Tablet type 2985 model C5U.  The pen works great but I can emulate any of the finger/touch demos.  Is this not supported with my type or model?  Or do I need a special driver.  When I open the tablet PC settings, I'm given the option to identify my screen as PEN or TOUCH.  While I select TOUCH, no finger combination (one or two) that presses my screen will invoke anything.  I was hoping this would be a touch solutoin albeit more powerful than the iPad.  Appreciate your responses everyone. Thank you. L

Hey all, I have a weird problem.  My tablet buttons have stopped working-- but only in tablet mode.  That is, I can't rotate, or bring up the tablet shortcuts, or move around the screen in tablet mode.  Also autorotate doesn't work.  But if I switch out of tablet mode, I can do all of these things just fine (except for autorotate). Also, when I switch into tablet mode the screen doesnt rotate or anything, but when I switch out of tablet mode the screen rotates to the direction I defined in the settings (sometimes.. to be honest it seems pretty random to me).  I am running 32 bit vista w/ 4 gb ram on an x61 tablet with the latest drivers.  I have uninstalled the tablet button drivers and the lenovo system interface and reinstalled them already.. I have the latest APS. Help me out here.. I have no idea why this isn't working!  Don't make me have to reinstall vista to get the buttons working.. Tha'ts ridiculous!!  Arrrgh.

Answer:Tablet buttons stop working in tablet mode only

sano88 wrote:Also autorotate doesn't work.  But if I switch out of tablet mode, I can do all of these things just fine (except for autorotate). You haven't calibrated it yet and enabled it yet. You have to get into Tablet shortcut menu setting and do it all first. For the rest, uninstalled all ThinkPad Tablet Button Driver, ThinkPad Tablet shortcut menu then restar and reinstall vis System Update. Just let it find for you; that's the only thing I could recommend for this case.

The bay trail tablets come with office 2013 preinstalled, I cracked my asus t100 and wanted to move office to my new dell venue 11 pro core i3 version. I downloaded office and it got to the point where it needed to check if any other computers are using the license. So of course with it being activated on the asus it didn't let me. So is there anyway of deactivating it from the asus and transferring it to the dell or is the office version "special" that came with the bay trail tablets?

Answer:Possible to transfer microsoft office from bay trail tablet to new tablet?

Uninstall it on the T100?

plz help
i have lenovo thinkpad 2 tablet it was not running well so i decided to reset it ...
but after 1 hr,it says "WINDOWS INSTALLATION FAILED PLEASE RESTART THE INSTALLATION"
and it keeps on repeating the same thing...
please help me ....

Answer:PERFORMED TABLET RESET now UNABLE to START TABLET

If it is still under warranty, call Lenovo. IF you tried to reset to factory defaults, and it is still failing, then you have something else that is going bad. My suspicion would be memory as that is what happened to me although it was on a desktop. Something to check...good luck.

I have upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit on my X61 Tablet, however I cannot get the tablet buttons, hotkeys, or auto-rotation to work. My understanding is that Lenovo has stopped supporting these products. I think it is a shame to stop using a perfectly working tablet PC with a superior LCD. I don't want to go back to Win 7 leaving all kinds of nice features on Windows 8. Any suggestions? Is there a hope? Koray

Answer:X61 Tablet Windows 8 - Tablet Button and Features Request

Hi koray,

I've been playing around with Windows 8 since the developers preview.  I've ran it on a lot of older systems.  Getting things to work will require some experimentation on your part.

You can start with your Driver Matrix.  There you can find the Hotkeys Utility for Windows 8.  You will also need the Power Manager Driver for Windows 8.  Not Power Manager,  just the Power Manager Driver.

Run Windows Update, it will probably find some stuff.  Some Windows 7 drivers will work, others won't.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro on an x60 tablet and everything works fine.  I also have it on an x61 non-tablet and it runs fine. I had to do a lot of messing around with stuff to get them to work right though.

Just make sure that you set system restore points before changing anything so you can get back what you had before, just in case something doesn't work right.  And, only install one thing at a time and reboot and test it out thoroughly before you install something else.

Good luck with this,

Dave
