Best cheap tablet with active digitizer (+ stylus presumably)

Question: Best cheap tablet with active digitizer (+ stylus presumably)

The title pretty much says it all. I got inspired by the recent article concerning the 5 best tablets for note-taking, which can be found here: Some great Windows tablets for note-taking | Windows Central
Being a student, my budget isn't very high. I would like pressure sensitivity, as it seems to allow for a more accurate writing experience. Therefore, the Asus VivoTab Note 8 seemed the way to go. I don't care much for the latest processor, it needs to run OneNote just fine and that's basically it.
However, since I'm from The Netherlands or Europe so to speak, availability of all the options isn't that high and prices are far from friendly. I could not find a decent offering in NL, but amazon.de got them around 200.
?But before ordering I would like to either test it or find somewhat more decent reviews (WCentral doesn't have one?).
?So in conclusion:
?-Do you know any cheap note-taking Windows tablets with active digitizers?
-Price?
?-Availability in Europe/NL?
?Cheers,
Tiemen

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Best cheap tablet with active digitizer (+ stylus presumably)

Word of caution, I owned the Note 8 for some time and there was an issue with the calibration. Granted, I was an early adopter and the issue may have been fixed through an update already but the problem was that the digitizer simply would not register taps near the edges when in portrait mode. I use Windows Journal quite a bit to take handwritten notes on the go and this tablet could never write on the lines well. I got used to "aiming" higher on the display to get my text to fall on the lines but I'd hate to see a student like yourself with limited resources not get what you need. Best of luck.

Hi all,
I'm on the hunt for a cheap as poss Windows 10 tablet that supports an active stylus for a friend who wants to run the StaffPad app.
Size and specs are pretty unimportant, other than the ability to run that specific app, so the active stylus is the only real requirement.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Cheers in advance!

Answer:Recommend a cheap Windows tablet supporting active stylus?

The surface 3 may work for you. Refurbished units can be had on ebay for $350-400, but I guess it really depends on how cheap 'cheap' means.

Hi friends, I just received my X200 tablet. My digitizer pen doesn't seem to function properly. The pen tip moves the cursor around but it only 'selects' thing on screen. The eraser however does what I expect the pen tip to do. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here. Please help! The tablet has Vista 32 on it currently. Thanks,Karma

Twice now, my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus has dropped out of the tablet only to be found later on my family room floor.   Given the expensive price tag on these pens (Office Depot has for $65), it would be nice if these pens could be locked into place so that they don't come up "missing" for whatever reason.   Has anyone else found a way to keep better track of their pen, short of not putting it in the holder on the tablet? Joe

Full disclosure: Not a Lenovo employee, just someone with a X61 running Win XP SP2

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus

Have you tried to tether it to your tablet?  There is a hole in the stylus clip and the tablet that you can use.  Beyond that, you can send it in to have the stylus catch replaced and see if that helps.

First, allow me to say I'm ignorant when it comes to this whole 'stylus' support issue. I've heard people lament about how this tablet has Wacom digitizer support but that one doesn't, and this one has some other type of stylus support, etc. I don't really understand what you geniuses are talking about because everyone complained about how the Surface Pro had some type of stylus support but the Surface RT did not, but then I went to a Microsoft store and an employee was showing off a stylus that seemed to work quite well on the Surface RT, so I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. So, if you have time, please explain to me the different types of styluses and the pros and cons behind them
Second, as I didn't know much about styluses I didn't really care much, but just last night I found myself wanting to draw a diagram in Office on my tablet and thinking, "huh, I bet this is where a stylus would come in handy." Now, I'm in the market for a new 2-in-1 device and so I would much appreciate recommendations on which devices support what kind of stylus and why that's good or bad.
Here is a list of devices that piqued my interest, but I'm more than happy to check out any others not on this list that you recommend:Surface 2Surface Pro 2Lenovo Yoga 2 ProSony Tap 11Dell XPS 11Dell XPS 12Dell Venue Pro 11

Answer:Which 2-in-1 tablet/ultrabooks have what kind of digitizer stylus support?

Come on now, all I read in all of the other threads debating the merits and demerits of this season's 2-in-1 devices like the Surface Pro 2 were all about stylus support, so surely you stylus aficionados have something to contribute here. Pretty please?

Well, I've finally had it. I've had my 6365 CTO X60 tablet pc for over a year now and last Monday I lost pen functionality in tablet pc mode in the afternoon after working fine in the morning. It works fine, even now after rotating the screen back to laptop mode. As soon as the screen is rotated back to tablet pc mode, no pen functionality but the mouse still works fine so I know it's functional in laptop mode but rotate back, all ok!  I did uninstall the Wacom drivers, restart, and then downloaded the tablet pc, windows xp version drivers from the wacom.com site as instructed in a previous post. Unfortunately, the digitizer pen is still disabled in tablet pc mode and works fine when rotated back to laptop mode. I've called Lenovo tech support in Atlanta four times now and they've been totally useless. I wiped out my X60 tablet last Friday and used Rescue and Recovery to reinstall the operating system back to it's factory settings. I went back and unistalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver. Nothing. Since that didn't work either I've requested the box to ship this back to the Memphis Depot. Hopefully, I'll just get a new replacement machine that works but I'm so angry and frustrated w/ Lenovo's support because it's obvious that the people on the phone are not tech specialists and they couldn't even point me in a direction to get this fixed. It's cost me over a week now wo... Answer:X60 tablet pc digitizer pen functionality disabled in tablet pc mode

Problem solved! While the support folks weren't able to fix the problem over the phone, they did overnite me a prepaid return box which I sent back that day. Two days later they overnited my X60 tablet back fixed with a note saying 'LCD enabled'. I'm impressed how quickly they got my tablet pc back up and running. I'm glad I got that 3-yr. support warranty because I usually opt out of those things. This totally paid for itself. I just wish I hadn't been so reluctant to send back my laptop because I do need it for work and I figured I wouldn't get it back for at least a week or longer. I was so frustrated and pessimistic that I forgot sometimes these problems do get fixed in a very satisfactory manner. It's too bad the initial steps that led to sending it back were so painful. Bottom line: Lenovo fixed my pc quickly, no questions asked. Thanks!

This started happening after I upgraded to the pressure sensitivity enabled driver on my X201T with a multi touch layer. It's nice that I know have pressure sensitivty AND multi touch; however, my stylus seems to become uncalibrated each time I restart. Also, if I shut down the PC in tablet mode, and then power it on, the PC stops detecting my stylus as a stylus and just shows and functions as a normal regular pointer. I keep having to uninstall the touch screen driver and reinstall it every time this happens, in order to make things work again. Anyone else have this problem? Also, the Thinkpad update utility keeps saying there is an update to the multitouch driver, but everytime I update, the same effect as to the previous happens and the stylus stops working... I just download the driver from the Lenovo site and do the same procedure to fix this issue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Answer:X201T stylus loosing calibration upon restart and stylus not detected if powered off in tablet mode?

I don't know if it will help with your problem, but I have been having problems with my X200 Tablet. I have an X200 Tablet and a few months ago Windows Update started to offer me a Wacom Touch Update. When I installed it, the pen and touch drivers stopped rotating properly. The pointers behaved as if the machine was  in primary landscape mode regardless of the display rotation. So I gave up on that update. However this week I replaced the hard drive with a new 256G SSD and did a complete reinstallation of Windows 7 (64 bit). After Windows and the Lenovo updaters had brought all the drivers and software up to date pen rotation misbehaved. I normally run the machine with "require password on wake from sleep or hibernation" and use the fingerprint scanner to unlock it. The symptoms were that the pen & touch worked fine and rotated properly when the machine booted, but after waking from Sleep or Hibernation and unlocking the machine, pen & touch behaved as if the machine was in primary landscape mode (i.e. the digitizer drivers were not respecting the display rotation settings). I looked through the forums and found a thread (X200 Tablet, Win7, Black screen freeze on sleep) that discussed problems after waking from sleep ( problems I didn't have), but the MS knowledgebase articles being pointed to suggested symptoms related to user logon. I installed the suggested Hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976755 This solved the problem... I own a Sony Vaio Duo 13 and lost my Sony digitizer. It had a tip that would enable you to write on the screen etc. Now I live in Europe and no where can I find that specific Vaio Digitizer.

What other styluses could I use, which would be compatible with Sony Vaio's screen with which I could also write (not just tap) on the screen? Help me find the exact models please!

Moved to Laptops & Notebooks.

Firstly, you have your terminology incorrect - you lost your stylus, not your digitizer. The digitizer is the glass screen that responds to touch - the stylus is the pen-device.

Now, as far as a stylus... it depends on how good of one you want. You'll want a capacitive stylus (one that responds through electric-contact rather than pressure). There's ones that are a rubberized-tip that are wider, there are also ones that have a "finer" tip that have a plastic-disc at the end to help it with defining the more precise tip. If you want a replacement like what came with your Sony exactly, you could try searching for one of those as well instead of a 3rd party solution.

Hello, I just got a yoga 14, and I see that there is a wacom device in the device manager, as well as a wacom pen configuration application installed. The computer didn't come with a stylus, so I've been trying to find one that will be compatible with this wacom device. So far I've tried lenovo part number 4X80F22110, as well as a wacom bamboo smart stylus, but neither have worked.  Can  someone clarify what exact type of stylus is required to work with the device in my laptop? Lenovo support wasn't very helpful, nor was wacom's.

The pen with part number 4X80F22110 as well as the Wacom Bamboo Smart pen are pens that use the Wacom EMR technology. The ThinkPad Yoga 14 only supports pens that use the Wacom Active ES technology (optionally, as there are some configurations where pens other than those for capacitive touch screens that imitate your finger don't work at all)As your ThinkPad Yoga 14 seems to support the Wacom Active ES-based pens, you should try the ThinkPad Pen Pro (4X80H34887)

I just got a brand new Yoga 12, and it has the integrated stylus in the laptop. When i first set it up, I was able to use the stylus to hand write in a program like one note. Let's say I close my laptop, and walk to a different room, when I open it back up from sleep mode, touch screen still works, but the computer doesn't respond at all to the stylus. No handwriting support, no touch support with the pen, only my capactive fingers. I find this very odd, and it works when I restart, but this seems to be a common issue with my peers who have Yoga 12's as well. Is there a fix for this? my wacom drivers are up to date, not sure if I should buy another stylus if this issue is recurring or not.

It depends on where it is stuck.  Sometimes you can separate the keyboard bezel from the lower case, just slightly, and the pen will come out.  You can also use tweezers to see if you can grap the pen clip and pull it out.

For some odd reason, I have always desired an active digitizer.  I am not an artist or someone who enjoys drawing or using paint programs.  I am not a doctor or shop foreman who would benefit from being able to write on a tablet as I walk around.  I am honestly never in a situation where I cannot type. And let's face it folks, typing is way way way better than writing.  I can type faster than I write, I can search on what I have typed more accurately, I can read what I have typed a month from now (my handwriting is pretty awful), I barely have to think to type (handwriting takes concentration) and I can copy what I have typed and paste it into other programs.  If I really really need to handwrite something I can use a simple stylus - not great but it works. So WHY do I crave an active digitizer so much so that I have seriously considered trading my Y2P in for a Viao Flip which other than the digitizer is an inferior machine in every way?  It is silly and yet it is there nagging at me.  I could get a Thinkpad Yoga but it is close to $500 more for a similar configuration and I get a worse screen and heavier machine. Does anyone else suffer over this as much as I do?  It is just so silly.  I have owned a Note 10.1, a Note 2 and a Surface Pro, all with the idea I would use the pen and guess what?  Never used it.  Why? Because my handwriting sucks and typing is better. Oh well, would have been nice if Lenov... Read more

Answer:Is having an active digitizer really worth it?

A digitizer display is sensitive to pressure as well I believe. Which makes it suitable for accurate work.Get the ThinkPad Yoga, no doubt. It's a very good machine. It is Full HD yes, maybe worse than QHD, but honestly you will not notice the difference. It will still be as sharp and as clear as on the Yoga 2 Pro.And you never know when you will use a pen. Using a pen can make you work more accurately with the touchscreen in certain occasions. All I can say is get the ThinkPad Yoga, see for yourself if you use the digitizer pen. You will never know if you haven't tried it. But the ThinkPad Yoga is a machine worth buying.

Hello, I'd like to know if the Yoga 520 offers an active digitizer making the use of an active pen possible. Not a passive/capacitive one, but an ACTIVE one. I've recently bought a notebook which said it had support for active pens and ended up with a touchscreen instead which offers capacitive pen support only. I aim to use Staffpad with it so if I could be informed of it's compatibility with the app that'd be better.

Hello, I've had a ThinkPad Helix for the past 2 months, and recently out of the blue it's stopped recongnizing the active digitizer. Usually when I take the pen out of the silo I would expect to see something come up on dmesg (I run Linux) stating that a USB device, in this case the active digitizer, just connected. I've tried on both my Linux partition and Windows partition and it doesn't seem to appear to ether one. A few times after this started it would work for a very short period of time, then it'd dissappear all over again. I've talked to support, but they're telling me it would take a few weeks for the parts to come in the mean time (and one of my tickets got canceled claiming I didn't call them back, so now I have to deal with that too). Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I almost want to take apart my helix in the mean time to try and fix it, but I really don't want to void my warrenty.

Hi All, I'm new to the forum and did a search. I could not find the answer to this question and was hoping someone had the answer to my question. When doing dual screens, with display port plugged in, and do extended monitor; i find that my digitizer/touch tries to work on both screens. is there a way to only have the digitizer work on the screen with the actual touch screen / digitizer sensor on it. I bought the x220 tablet thinking I could have an extended monitor on a book, or presentation, while my tablet could be on one note taking notes on the tablet. I know a possible "solution" could be why don't I print it up to one note, and mark it up there. I like to outline on a different page it helps me remember the content I?m reading. Thank you your help is very much appreciated.

In my opinion an active stylus is the best stylus. Wacom is the best from what I hear. I have one on my tablet. Love it. It is nice being able to rest your palm on the screen without it messing things up. It makes digital handwriting natural. There is a "Asus Note 8" tablet I believe it is called that is 8 inches and has Wacom support. It comes with the Stylus. It was just released today from the Microsoft store online. But from articles I have read it has sold out rather quickly.

Hello, I bought my Yoga 260 to use on training courses where I write most of the day on-screen with the active digitizer pen. But, my hand leaves lots of marks on the document becuase the screen thinks when you are resting your hand on it that you want to draw there.  The older tabletPCs didn't have this problem.  I can't use the unit for the intended purpose because of this, i still have to use my old tabletPC. How can I turn off the touch feature, so the screen only recognizes the pen? Thank you

I can't get my digitizer pen out of its slot.  I know i need to push it in to get it out.  Its done this before, but I was able to get it out using a small little precision screw driver but it cant seem to get it out.  Would i have to send this back to the factory?  I also noticed that hte screen has a dust particle in it.    i only have the factory warranty.  Also, is there any store, best buy etc. that sells x230 tablet digitizer pens besides buying it directly from lenovo?  Any help would be appreciated.

Good day. I purchased a manufacturer refurbished ThinkPad X220t  with warranty for one year. The laptop came with a factory seal. When I turn on a notebook,  the operating system(win 7 Prof 64bit) automatically install. At the end of installation in device manager  all devices have been identified and worked fine.  But in computer details in the "system" was written ?No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display?. Then I installed all the drivers on a laptop from Lenovo website again and again. That did not help. Then I reinstalled windows (win 7 Prof 32bit). That did not help. Previously, I had two X200t and when I installed windows 7, the digitizer immediately was detected, for the good work of  the touchscreen it was necessary to install drivers. But the situation with the X220 for me incomprehensible. Explain what I did wrong. The type of ThinkPad printed on the back label is 4294-CTR(in BIOS the type is 4294-CTO).

Answer:X220 Tablet. Not working digitizer and touch screen. Help!

Try to install manually Multitouch Driver from Lenovo Drivers Download  You can find it here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS001408 V.

Hello,I've followed some posts on this support forum, regarding if the new Spectre x360 Kaby Lake (Product# W9B13AV_1 http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-spectre-x360-convertible-laptop-13t-touch-w9b13av-1) supports or not an active pen. What we've learned is that this laptop doesn't work with HP Active Pen (Product# T5E12AA#ABL http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/accessories-88342--1/hp-active-pen-t5e12aa-abl) and HP Active Stylus (Product# J4R51AA#ABL http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/accessories-88342--1/hp-active-pen-j4r51aa-abl), based on some answers from the support team on previous posts, and based on the information contained in this page: http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05166879.Some early online reviews stated that there is no support for active pen, Lisa Gade from MobileTechReview said: "The one feature missing from the previous generation is the active digitizer for the optional HP Active Stylus (a Synaptics pen technology). Given how heavily HP has advertised this feature in the previous generation, I'm surprised they removed it. And yes, it's really gone--there's no active digitizer listed in device manager, and I tested both Synaptics pens and Wacom and N-Trig pens just in case they'd switched to a different pen technology. That means you can use your finger or a capacitive stylus like those made for the iPad Air, but not a precise pen with pressure levels and palm rejection."http://www.mobiletechreview.com/notebooks/HP-Spectre-x360-Late-2016.htmSo, Is HP Spec... I'm hoping this might turn into a recommendation thread, as there just isn't much info about this out on the webs. This is mainly in regard to performance when highlighting, drawing, or dragging the stylus across the screen. My experience is, while the bulk stylus packs that are available on places like Amazon work great for most people's Apple and Android tablets, general consensus is that they are horrible on Windows tablets. I've tried several, even a Bamboo stylus, but they all skip or jump when you try to highlight or drag, making them useless. This is on a Surface RT, Dell Venue 8 Pro, and Winbook TW800.
Anyway, I've done tons of research, but can't seem to find any that work well but are at a decent price. Has anyone found a cheap stylus that works well for highlighting, etc?

Answer:What Passive Stylus Works Well with Cheap Windows Tablets?

Well, I did a quick search for the Winbook and I think it does not support Wacom.
The Dell Venue does support Wacom or at least Dell sells a Wacom like stylus for it. For that
device I recommend you buying the stylus specially designed for that tablet.
I know the Surface does not support Wacom. So, for the first and third tablet, any passive
stylus will do. Hate to say it..they are pretty much all the same and all work the same. And,
they are all pretty much lousy. This is why Wacom supported tablets are what people want
although very few tablets actually support it.
Not to mention is generally increased the selling price of the tablet. I just sold a 5 year old 12.1 inch tablet
with Windows 8.1 on it (that I installed) for $300.00 on Ebay because it supported Wacom

I broke my hinge a few weeks ago when I was packing up to leave class (which is indicative of the poor lenovo build/engineering quality that I've come to expect). The pen stopped working (even after I installed the wacom drivers I still get code 10 - the device cannot start). The buttons on the tablet don't work (orientation, esc, arrows, etc.). The fingerprint reader does not work. The laptop does not recognize the screen's orientation (open/closed/tablet). Most of the LED indicators do not function (System power and hard drive activity work, but NUM/CAPS lock, wifi, battery, plug, and sleep do not). I opened the laptop and replaced the hinge. I also replaced all the wiring (as it seemed like it might be damaged by the broken hinge) to the lcd assembly and the inverter card (it came with the wiring assembly). New hinge works great, but the features are all still gone. Is this a problem with my microprocessor board? (Item 14 - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67024) I'm guessing that it is... Is there a high probability that I need a new lcd assembly? I don't really understand the interplay between the inverter board, the fingerprint reader, the digitizer, and the microprocessor board. Does anyone here know? EDIT: 7764CTO, Vista Business (fresh install)Message Edited by jcy6h on 03-21-2009 10:16 AM

I have just received my new x200 tablet with multi touch and immediately upgraded it to WIndows 7. I can not get the digitizer pen nor finger gestures to work on the screen. This is my first tablet PC and I am bummed to have this issue on the first day. I am no computer wizard so it could be user error all the way. Please tell me i am missing something easy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:x200 tablet w/ multitouch -- multi touch and digitizer pen not working

Just to cover our bases, have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Windows 7? Here's the multitouch drivers:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73295 And here's all the others for Windows 7, just in case:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?subcategoryind=0&familyind=427841&brandind=10&... Forgive me if you've already done that. Other than drivers, I'm not sure what you can do to troubleshoot it. I know it works in Win 7, since I've read several reviews about the Windows 7 experience on the x200. Seth

Hello, Maybe somebody could help me. I just got W700 2757-CTO with Vista x64 SP1 Business, however when I got it I think my Wacom Digitizer worked, but after some time it stopped and I can't get it to work. I tried System Restore, I even performed a Clean Vista Install and even my system is flying now and everything is working much better than before, I still can't get Wacom Digitizer to work  Driver I'm using: 02 Sep 2008 v5.0.8-8 I also tried driver I found online that is 5.1.1-1, but it was the same result. Did anybody face that kind of issue and found a solution? Does anybody have other Vista x64 drivers that I could try? Your help will be highly appreciated.

Answer:W700 - Wacom Digitizer not working: A Supported Tablet was not found on the system.

Guys, If somebody got the original driver that should be in C:\SWTOOLS\... somewhere in Digitizer folder, would you zip and send it to me so I can try the original driver that came with the machine. After clean install I lost all standard drivers. Your help will be highly appreciated.

I have a X201 Tablet had always worked well.Yesterday suddenly the screen became completely black.I connected to the external LCD monitor and the computer works perfectly. But the internal monitor not. At least as a monitor.I can not see anything in the screen not even in backlight. But I can use the digitizer on screen... Namely if I touch the screen with the pen it makes me mouse. It seems strange because I was convinced it was a matter of cables. What can it be?Should be the illuminator? I think not, because in this case should be seen vaguely. Is that correct? Then I thought, or the display itself or cables that connect to the main board?I opened but everything seems to be ok. What is more likely is.I would like to understand it before you buy spare parts useless. How can I test which of the components is?I hope someone can help me,Thanks in advance

I have a problem where the digitizer pen interittently stops working on the yoga S1 - win8.1 x64 with all updates applied.I can re-create the issue by folding the screen from normal mode to  tablet mode, then normal mode , then tablet mode. At this point, the pen susually stops working. I can get it to come back to life sometimes if i wait a minute, or if i go to power settings and apply / un apply something or by restart. It sounds like a driver issue to me - and possiby power management drivers - triggered by swithcing to tablet mode.I have tried max perfromance, min power savings etc to stop the screen driver being starved of power, have disabled sleep and hibernation. Done multiple driver re-installs, but no difference. Sometimes restarting the drivers relating to the pen and touch screen bring it back to life. But it should not die in the first place. Anyone else have this or do i have a hardware issue?

I have purchased two HP Active Stylus Pens, the first from Best Buy and the second from HP.com.  Unfortunately I have not been able to get either to work with my HP Pavillion 360 13" Windows 10 laptop. The symptoms are as follows:  I pop the battery into the pen and move the pen towards the screen and . . .  nothing.   Nothing happens.  This pen is also supposed to have the ability to magnetically attach to the laptop screen but that doesnt happen either.  I does not show up in the Bluetooth devices as well.   I took the pen into Best Buy and had their tech support guy look at it and their diagnosis was that it was a bad pen.  All they could do was refund my money as THEY NO LONGER SELL THAT PEN!  GRRR.  So I logged on to the HP site and chatted with one of their sales reps to confirm this pen is compatible with my PC before placing another order, however I am still getting exactly the same results, which are a BIG FAT NOTHING.  The PC does not recognize it  at all.  What is even more frustrating is that I cant even call anyone beause the tech support line does not recognize the pen's product code.  I hope someone call tell me what I am doing wrong because I do long this pen and would like to use it.  Please advise

Hi guys.
I am in the need of a portable device for university and I decided to get a windows tablet so I thought you could maybe help me on chosing one?
Screen: Between 8 and 10 inches. I dont care about the resolution tbh, I care about the brightness as I might use it on the street tho.
Specs: Ideally 4gb of ram and no less than a X5 processor.
Also it is essential that it has 3g/4g capability as I have unlimited data on my simcard and I will use it in my tablet.
The best option I have seen so far is the Teclast x98 plus 3g. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much :D

Any device with a touch screen can use a direct stylus, but the best performance and quality comes from an active stylus like the one the Surface Pro 4 has. This requires extra software and hardware, so you have to buy a tablet that comes with an active stylus if you want that.

I saw the Aspire Active Stylus V (Part# NP.STY1A.005) in the Acer store and wanted to buy it to use with the Acer R13 (R7-372T-77LE) laptop, since the R7-372T is listed as compatibale for this stylus. I am wondering if anyone has this stylus or has more information than what is one the product page. Does it work well enough to take good handwritten notes?Does the Active Stylus V have palm rejection (so that I can set my wrist on the screen while using the stylus)? What technology does the Active Stylus V use, is it synaptics, N-trig or Wacom? What is the difference between the Active Stylus V and the Active Stylus II (tech wise)?

The Dell active stylus 750-AAGN has hard tip. The contact with the screen makes loud sound and may not be good for the screen. Is there any other compatible soft-tip (S pen-like) digitizer or active stylus that can replace the 750-AAGN stylus? Thank you.

I bought a Dell Active Stylus for my HP Spectre x360 13 inch model because of the generally better reviews than the HP Active pen. When the pen first arrived I had some trouble using it but it started working just fine after about 10 minutes of struggle. I used it two times after that without any trouble. But a week after that when I tried again, it just stopped working. The pen is not recognized by my laptop at all.For the 15 inch model, there is a 'Touchscreen Controller Firmware Update' available on the HP website that says ' Provides active pen support'. But no similar firmware update available for 13 inch model.I am not even sure what happened here since everything was working fine and now it's not. A firmware update would be a probable way to fix it.Any ideas?

I recently purchased the HP Active Stylus as a companion to my new Stream x360. I did a lot of research and the stylus was supposed to be able to draw and write on my computer. However, after getting the stylus out, putting in the battery, and testing it,nothing happened.Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a software of some sort? Or did I just purchase the wrong model?Serial # is (Removed Content)

Answer:HP Active Stylus and Stream x360

Two days ago, I bought at Best Buy a Surface stylus and found out that it comes with battery and need to setup HP Stream x360 Bluetooth in order to have it work. The stylus pen blinks when powered on. Setup of HP Stream Bluetooth took some time, then finally I was able to get a message that Bluetooth was able to recognize device. At Best Buy, the staff said it works with Microsoft OneNote. I never used OneNote. It came bundled with Microsoft Office. I tested it out Surfce Laptop - Surface Stylus on OneNote and it works--fine lines, soft to the touch, bold lines also... What else could it be, if HP Stream x360 is not able to detect a stylus pen? -Damaged stylus pen-Software for the stylus-What the distance for Bluetooth I also bought a stylus thinking that it's just a mouse touch pad. The one with an eraser. The eraser works, but I need to do some fine pen work and not blotches or when you used an empty air can to spray paint look. It;s frustrating to find all these things and still have no stylus to use. If I am able to get the Surface Stylus to work, I wonder how long can I work until the battery goes dead. I am currently using a mouse with Infrared, a USB connector and it's cordless for three years now.  Laarni N. I was wondering if the HP Active Stylus Pen is compatible with my laptop model. I have read many different reviews and experiences about the compatibility of this pen for HP convertible notebooks and have only come up with mixed opinions, none of which relate to my model. Please Help, Thank you Paul

Answer:Active Stylus Pen for HP Pavilion x360

Hi, At this stage, no real active pen / stylus for Pavillion, you have to move up such as Envy or Spectre class machines. Regards.

Hi,  I am looking to find an active stylus that will be compatable with my hp pavilion x360 13-a068ca laptop. I am running windows 10 and I have a window in settings for configureing my pen and windows ink. When I look at the information page for my computer it also lists 10 point touch and stylus. I haven't been able to find any information on what would be compatable and I don't want to just start buying them and trying them out. ThanksDan
