I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have solved about every problem just by reading other people's questions (as the rules state).......it has worked every time until now. access violation at address 4003b648 in module rt170.bpl. write of address 0000000d I have not found this, I hope I didn't overlook it...I'm learning a great deal from this forum and I don't want to waste everybody's time...I'm still a newbie and the more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know sh**. Answer:access violation at address 4003b648 in module rt170.bpl. write of address 0000000d

Just my guess...Access violation...usually means a RAM/memory error.Address 4003b648 appears to be a memory address.Module rt170.bpl...seems to be part of IE.What's the related error data as reflected in Event Viewer?Take a look: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/uekb-c...running-windowsOne answer by Rick Rogers (helpful MS-MVP) indicated that either updating the SP to the most current or reinstalling IE would be the answer.Louis

I am using a note-taking program called Scholar's Aid that for the last several weeks has taken to refusing to close without resort to task manager/end program. When I try to exit, I get "Access violation at address 4002E87D in module 'rtl70.bpl'. Read of address 01A11EDC. Alternatively I get a similar error for 'vtl70.bpl.' Think it's always the same address for each.

I noticed several posts regarding this bpl file here, but didn't find this specific problem or a solution. I have a registry cleaner but will run the one recommended here. I have recently started using OCR programs, including OmniPage--though after this problem started. I do have these and another bpl file in the windows system directory--and no bpl files anywhere else.

If I close the program before I've used it too much, there isn't a problem. But after I've been entering notes for a while it won't close on its own.

So far no luck getting any suggestions from the program's tech support. Or finding a way to contact other users.

Same problem on 3 xp machines with three different installations of the program.

Thanks for any help.

Hello, folks. I wish I had better news for my first post. I hope you can point me in some other direction besides nuke and pave for this particular Optiplex GX260. It has, over the last week, become weird.

I have seen this warning appear, probably in Spybot Search & Destroy. "

access violation at address 500B6430 in module 'rtl150.bpl'." Researched it on the web and all I got was a page from Microsoft saying I should uninstall Spybot, and run their Windows Defender Offline. This ran for 11 hours and found nothing.

I have tried running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spybot Search & Destroy and SUPERAntiSpyware. They seem to have caught a few things - mostly cookies - but not anything major. I keep getting Malwarebytes stopping outgoing connections to web addresses that seem to have no listing in blacklists. Eventually, after 24 hours or so, the system starts acting up and I have to reboot.
I have also run Hirens Boot Disk and tried its antivirus tools in the CD-based Mini XP, to see if it can find something without my possibly screwed up version of Windows running. No joy.

I am using AVG Free 2013 as my main antivirus program. I added Malwarebytes, Spybot and SUPER in an attempt to kill this thing. Here, below, are the logs requested. Any advice you can offer would be wonderful.

Looks like you may be infected by the Swen virus, calcionapoli10, turn off System Restore on your PC to flush the restore points, then go to click here and do the free online virus check, it hopefully will clear it for you. If you don't have any anti-virus software, download, install and update AVG6 click here it's free.

The problem was found when I was using the TuneUp DiskCleaner to scan the hard drive labled F (the "File" drive). The scanning was stopped when it reached a folder (a folder that contains html pages that someone sent to me and I saved there), and a error message popped up saying "Access violation at address 019C44F3. Read of address 83C70A78."

I repeated the scanning and the exactly same thing happened -- even the error address reported was the same.

I tried to delete the folder from the explorer window. But everytime after I press the "delete" button, the explorer just breaks down, while that folder remains there the next time I open the explorer. The same thing happens in when I tried to delete it in the safe mode.

Strangely, I was able to rename the folder. It just can't be deleted.

Since everytime the same error address was reported, I assumed there could be some defect with the hard drive. So I launched a thorough scan of the F drive using TuneUp Disk Doctor, which reached the deepest level by checking every 512 bytes sector. The scan took about 20 minutes, but nothing wrong was found.

Can any one help me figure out what's wrong? Thanks.

Answer:Access violation at address 019C44F3. Read of address 83C70A78.(RESOLVED)

Hi there and welcome to TSF.
First, check the permissions on the folder. Right click on it then select properties. Make sure the folder isn't "read-only". If you still can't delete it, try using the utility MoveonBoot. You can download it from this site.. This allows you to mark the folder for removal next time you reboot.

Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some help here since I am so confused on the "guts" of computers! First let me say I had trojans all over and such. I joined AVG free forum and followed their advice and it took a while but I got it all cleaned up. Problem is since I ran Spybot (i think this caused it?) and got it to remove "back web lite", I get this msg..

Also, I get this error...

I have no clue what it's talking about. Can anyone help?
Thanks so much!

..77738086 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 0040A778.

Couple of days ago I installed a HD player right off Google, one of the first search results. After installing, I kept getting pop up messages saying app has caused problems for all my .wav, .mp4. .avi, etc. files and that it has been reverted to Film and TV. Obviously I uninstalled immediately and changed all the audio/video files back to VLC. Since then when I boot my PC I keep getting this error.

I did the sfc scan thing but there was nothing wrong. So I decided to do a search on my files to see what this ntdll, dll was. As it was searching my C:, the same error kept popping up about app causing problems on audio/video files and it's being reverted. I don't think I got that "app has caused problem" pop up since I uninstalled. It's only till I searched for that ntdll file did it start popping up again. I think it's safe to assume it's from that app? What do I do?

I have some old ebook files from about 2-3 years back that I'm trying to open. They are not pdf, epub, or anything like that. The files show up as a .exe file and when I first opened it after buying it, I would be ask for a code I received via email which would allow me to use the file whenever I wanted after inputting the code once. The files use to open on the current laptop I'm using, but now I get an "access violation at address" every time I try to open the files. The only change from when I was able to open the files a few years back is that I had a hard drive crash in 2011. The "tech" guy who supposedly fixed this laptop did a sloppy job and it took a few months to straighten everything out. I'm guessing the problem I'm having is due to his handy work, but I have no idea where to start tracking down the problem. Every time I get the access error, it's different from the previous time I got the error. These are the latest errors I've gotten:

Answer:Access violation at address error

'Access Violation' errors and other critical malfunctions can arise when the Windows operating system becomes overloaded with invalid system references, as well as corrupted and deleted registry files. These problems commonly occur due to a lack of regular PC maintenance. As a computer operating system gets older, errors and crashes start to become more frequent and problematic.

You can try using the tool located here. It's $29.97/year but I don't know of any freeware fixes.

I am running Windows XP Home and get this message when I try to open GUIDE PLUS + which is a program that lets me watch TV on my computer. "Access violation at address 065C10CD. Read of address 065C10CD". Does anyone have a fix. Thank you.

Answer:Access Violation At Address 065c10cd

Open your device manager and see if there are any yellow or red warning icons.

If there are you will need the cd that came with the TV card. Delete the device/s that have these marks and reboot.

If you don't have the cd that has the drivers go to support at the website of the manufacturer of the TV card and download the drivers to a file you will be able to find when WIndows tries to reinstall the device.

I bought my PC last year which included 6 months free AVG - once this expired I had already purchased an alternative Anti-virus package so did not renew AVG.

However, since then (almost) every time I start my computer it comes up with the following error message:

Access Violation at address 00431627. Read of address 000001342.

This is accompanied by a rather annoying noise and both the error message and the noise can continue for 20 minutes!! Rather annoying!

There is a button to update AVG but this will not allow access to the server. I have tried re-installing AVG but the problem still continues.

Can you help?

Many thanks.

just recently, I started getting a hotkey message at shut down "Access violation at 00431232...read of address FF9E3CF4. Pretty sure it's a registry error but Nortons doesn't see it when I do a registry scan. I know very little about registries but know how to access it to look around....Not quite sure what I did to get this and it hasn't seemed to cause any problems other than the annoying sound that windows assigns that type of message. No blue screen ...just a short duration of the message box on the desktop just before windows shuts down. Using Windows XP Home 64 bit, Nortons Internet Security 2011 and Nortons Utilities.

The access violation errors sounds like corrupted drivers.

Download the latest driver from Linksys for this adapter and see if you have the same issue installing that.

The exact version and patch level of Windows would be useful here as well.

After upgrading to Windows 10 Creators Update, I have an HTML editor (HTMLEd Pro 3.0) that now gives an Access Violation at Address... error. After uninstalling (including full removal with Revo Uninstaller) and reinstalling, I still get the error.

I eventually installed another editor (Coffee Cup) which worked fine at first, but now it is giving me a similar Access Violation at Address... error.

I have HTMLEd Pro installed on other PCs that have updated to the Win10 Creators Update and have no such problems.

I also tried turning on DEP (Data Execution Prevention) and added an exception for Coffee Cup but still get the error. I even reinstalled HTMLEd Pro and added and exception for it but still get the error.

I also ran a memory test, a hard drive test, and a Malware Bytes full scan. I also checked DeFrag and it reports 0% defragmentation on my hard drive.

I have a second administrator account on this laptop, and when I logged in via that account and launched the HTMLEd Pro I did not get an error. So perhaps there is a rights or file sharing issue going on.

This is on an HP G72 Notebook, 4 GB RAM, Intel i3 CPU M70, 64-bit. Windows 10 1703 Build 15063.540

Any help on why this error is now occurring since updating to Creator's Update would be helpful.

Here's what I've tried.changing DEP settings...

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance > Settings > and changed DEP from:

"essential windows programs and services only"

to

"all programs and services except those I select"

And turned off DEP for the programs getting the error above.

I can't think of what else to do?? What is this error.. I've never seen it?

Hi

Recently my PC shows an access violation message on log off. It flashes up real quick on the screen then the PC logs off per normal. So far I can't see that my PC's running slow or having any issues (touch wood) but am concerned something's going on in the background (am deffo a novice user compared to most of u). Took a photo of the error message which says:

Exception EAccess Violation in module rtl120.bpl at xxxxxxxx
Access violation at address xxxxxxxx in module rtl120.bpl
Read of address xxxxxxxx

Have x'd out the details of address codes as not sure if they'll pinpoint my PC (which I obviously don't want to do on a public forum!)

The first 2 address details are same except for 1st digit and address details on the last line are totally different.

Am just running XP Home, Avast, Spybot, MalwareBytes and CC Cleaner. I run quick scans every day and deep scans every 2 days. Haven't downloaded any movies/games lately or new apps. Just updates etc.

appreciate any help

Neophyte

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
Helpful Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Software XP
I think my problems started when I installed an Dynex USB wireless adapter. The computer now beeps on a regular bases. I unstalled the Dynex adapter but it still beeps. I installed a Linksys USB adapter it worked for a few days, but now that adapter will not connect to the internet. I got this message Violation at Address 7C918FEA in Module "ntdll." Write of address 00000010. Any ideas? I'm at a loss.

Thanks

Answer:Violation at Address

The access violation could be caused by conflicting drivers or a bad (or dirty) memory stick. If the problem didn't start until after you installed these new devices, then your problem is probably a driver conflict. You will need to completely remove any drivers you have installed with your new devices. You might also clean the contacts (some gold and some tin) on your memory (sims, dims, etc). The best way to clean them is to remove the stick from your computer and use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts (both sides of the stick. Be sure to remove any rubber left behind from the cleaning before re-inserting the stick back into your computer. Remember that the sticks will only go into the socket one way so be sure it is correctly inserted. Be sure to seat the stick(s) properly.
Hope this helps.

Hi

What Windows Service Pack is your XP?

If you disable ZoneAlarm Firewall does it work ok?
Try booting to safe mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with networking) and see if it works?

This I have noticed seems to be an bug in the latest version of Skype for some users, so did the older version (older versions HERE) of Skype work ok before you updated? if so I would be tempted to re-install that or test the beta version of Skype 5 HERE

I would also update to the latest Adobe version HERE also update Shockwave HERE

Hello. I've been running XP for many years and have never seen this before. A window popped up that says: Access violation at address 7C9101B3 in module ntdll.dll. Write of address 501F0012I'm clueless as to what this is telling me. I did find a similar instance on this forum here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic246039.htmlBut it has a different address and module than mine. After reading through that thread, I checked ALL the Event logs and there is nothing about this event in any of them. Also, my SP3 is current as of the other day, as is IE8 (of which I don't use just like the other guy that had this problem).I'd just like to know WHAT this error message is telling me about my system. This problem is not limited to explorer.exe, but that is where it shows up most - simply using the program. A Dr Watson error is generated, identifying "exception:access violation (0xc0000005), Address 0x77f64ed3".

I reinstalled NT4 with SP6 - this had no affect.

I ran Norton utilities fixes for Windows and Disks - no affect.

I uninstalled all Norton programs - also no affect.

Question: access violation

After my computer has been on for several hours,I get a message entitled hotkey keyboardsayingaccess violation at address 1C002656 .Read of address 00000000.At this point the machine becomes virtually unusable to the extent that I cannot even switch off the machine at the on/off switch .I am obliged to switch it off at the mains supply in order to reboot.Having done this the machine operates normally for several hours at which point the problem re-occurs.Please can anyone advise on a solution.

Answer:access violation

Re-install your keyboard software, preferably up-dated from the makers site."operates normally for several hours at which point the problem re-occurs."and/or could possibly be an over-heating problem - check interior of case for cleanliness and make sure all fans are clean and spinning properly.

Hi,

Every time I start my laptop computer an error message comes up that reads:

access violation at address 00513DB7 in module 'xdc.exe'. read of address 00000000.

I have absolutely no idea what this is about. If anyone can help me sort it out I would be really grateful.

Thanks.

Answer:Access Violation Help

I looked up xdc.exe and it seems to be related to Xtreme Desktops. Do you have that installed? Have you tried going in thru Safe mode and uninstalling it? Or there may be a conflict between what your graphics is trying to do and what the Xtreme Desktop can actually handle. Just for the heck of it try holding the CTRL key while you boot, its the standard reset key for graphics that is used when overclocking too much prevents the PC from booting. Not to say you overclocked or anything but resetting your graphics to standard may solve the problem.

Question: Access Violation

I have never seen this before, therefore, did not know where to post this.

I shut down my computer last night. This morning, when I went in to start coding some CSS I saw the computer on and a window that said, " Access Violation 74E0809". What is this? Do I have some kind of back door hacker or is this some internal roblen which I have never before seen? Also, my computer is PW protected and I am the only one who possesses the PW. Latest hardware installed is a Western Digital Ext. HDD. That is the only change that I have made other than a couple HTML editors. (webeasy pro 6 and NotePad light).

If anyone has some light to shed on this I would appreciate it.

I'm running Windows XP SP2. When I try to upgrade to another release of a program I get this error message, "Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000." I click OK and then I get "Error creating window". I have 2 programs that are totally dis-related and I get this error. I un-installed 1 of the programs, used JV16 power tools to clean the registry of any remaining parts of the program and tried to do a clean install. Got the same error messages. I started to get this error after the last MS critical update. Any Ideas on what got corrupted in the OS? and also how to fix it?

Question: Access Violation

Hi and Good Morning

I have an issue with a file/folder that refuses to delete and continually crashes windows explorer.

The operating system is windows xp 2nd edition home.

BACKGROUND

I use Limewire for music and sometimes music videofiles.
A couple of weeks ago I downloaded a file ,with others, which i now suspect is not what it was supposed to be.

Limewire downloads initially into an 'incomplete' folder and when files finish downloading the program automatically moves them into a completed folder called Limewire.

PROBLEM

When I tried to open the Limewire folder I got an error message saying windows explorer had encountered a problem and needs to close followed by a second saying Dr watson postmortem debugger had also encountered a problem and needed to close.

Closing those windows resulted in windows explorer closing and restarting again.

I then found that I didn't need to even open the file, if the mouse pointer went any where near the folder the error messages would appear.
SOLUTIONS

I then ran several different spyware and malware removal tools and these either stopped as soon as they reached this folder or I got an access violation warning with the relevant address.

I tried to delete the folder but would always get the windows explorer shut down

I downloaded a tool called unlocker which did allow me to move the whole folder to an emptyfolder which I then tried to delete but still the error messages appear.

I tried to move the whole folder to... Read more

aacenter.exe is the ASUS ACPI Control Center. It has been known to cause problems before and it is not necessary for system operation so you should uninstall it.

Use REVO Uninstaller to get rid of it fully.

'ACCESS VIOLATION ATADDRESS 00423B70 IN MODULE COMCAST ANTISPY.EXE WRITE OF ADDRESS

The solution for me and several others is as follows: Open "C" drive and find folder called "comcastb"
click on it and another folder opens called "Comcast Antispy". Open that folder and find file called

I have recently been getting an Access violation message. The full message reads "Access violation at address 0054F3FC in module RTHDCPL.EXE Read of address 00BBD03. From what I can gather,a Microsoft update has probably caused this error to occur. The Realtek HD Audio Control panel can just be uninstalled, which should stop the error message,or if you like its features, first try updating your Realtek drivers. You might like to have a look here.click here

A big hello to all forum members.
I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows XP with service pack 2.
Reinstalled needed programs.
Whenever I shutdown the computer now I get this message.

Access violation at address 41343c24 in module 'VCL35.bpl'. Read of address 00000008.

Can anyone shed some light on this for a 72 year old computer illiterate who should not have tried this in the first place. lol
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Answer:Access Violation

Is this an Asus motherboard? It could remotely be a virus issue, but since you reformatted it could be a problem with the motherboard drivers

Hi all,

I didn't know if this should go in this forum, but it seems it must be a Windows thing, at least in part.

I'm trying to run a fractal program called "Chaos-Scope". I ran it on a Dell computer just fine, but on this new Compaq machine I get this error message (see attached).

Does anyone know what this is, or more to the point... how to remedy the trouble?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Solved: Access violation?

Do both computers have the same OS version?

How is the program run, from an installed setup or just a folder? Does the error occur immediately when you run it or just when you try to use some function of the program? These fractal programs can be buggy and not fully tested under all the configurations they are likely to be run on.

Since the addresses are all 0's it doesn't seem like the program is reading memory correctly.

I posted this yesterday under windows xp, but think it's probably a keyboard problem and should be here in the hardware section.
What is happening is that a friend of mine says each time she lets her computer monitor go off and then wakes up the computer again that she gets this message in capital letters...Hot Key Keyboard access violation at address 00431627. Read of address 00000132. I'm wondering if she needs to go to the gateway website and download and install the latest keyboard driver. Her computer is only a yr old and she's never gotten any of these messages until yesterday. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them. Thanks.

She's running windows xp sp2

Hi there,
For roughly 3 days now, I've been struggling to get an old game to work on my PC called "Army Men RTS". The issue I am having is that whenever I try to launch the game, nine out of ten times it normally results in me getting an error message like "Pandemic Studios error: ACCESS Violation 00b26030h". Now, the error code itself has a tendency to change numbers, so I am not sure if the code is really relevant, considering the fact it doesn't even give me any search results if you try to search it.
If you want to try to run the game yourself, here is our community forum page:
http://clanexf.com/exforum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=546
As far as system specifications are considered, I should definitely be able to run it. My specs are the following:
OS: Windows 10
Ram: 10 gigs
CPU - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight core processor
System Type: 64 bit operating system
Graphics Card Sapphire HD 7970
Now, I've had other people in my gaming community install and run this game, and they have been able to play with no problem while running on win 7 & win 10 and using hardware from AMD to Nvidia.
The solutions I've tried so far are the following:
Ran the main exe as admin: [Failed]
Ran the game in every compatibility mode: [Failed]

Hello. I'm new to this site I just stumbled on while looking for an answer.

I recently reinstalled Windows on my Dell Laptop and now one week later I find more problems. I have no sound controls (the entertainment file is empty).

After slowly loading some important programs and files back I now find I'm getting the above errors as well as having to shut down right in the middle of something. I didn't have these problems before.

I'm ready to throw in the towel. I'm not a novice nor a geek - somewhere in between on the lower level.

Any advice from someone who has had this problem would be appreciated.
